Introduction
The Order of Shadows has long stood between humanity and the Creatures. Humans who have the ability to see what is beyond the Shadows, they are found and taken in at a young age to be trained as fighters, hunters, apart of the Order of Shadows.
Shadow Stalkers come in all ages, ethnicity, gender, religion. The Order has no prejudices. Once you are conscripted, you are a Stalker for life. They have rules which you are taught first, and then your training begins, where you choose two of the Shadow Beings to specialize in hunting. Every Shadow creature has a weakness. Once you have passed your exams, you will take your vows and become a Warden of the Shadow Stalkers.
The Veil
The Veil is what separates our world from the Shadow Lands. No one truly knows exactly what it is, but it has been speculated that the Veil is a type of energy that "veils" the human mind into not seeing what is truly there, or making them see what the Shadow Creatures want us to see. It is how they have survived since the beginning of time. They walk among us, the Veil protecting them.
Shadow Creatures
There are five main races of Shadow Creatures that the Wardens hunt. They are Demons, Witches, Werewolves, Vampires, and Dragons. Each race has their own weakness and strengths, but all have one motivation: To feed on a different part of a human being. The Demons eat a persons' soul, the Witches the mind, Werewolves the flesh, Vampires the blood, and Dragons feed on a persons' energy.
Demons
Creatures that wander as spirits, they have no physical form. They must inhabit a human body in order to survive on our plane of existence, through the process called possession. By possessing a human body, they slowly devour their souls. Once the soul is gone, they will move to another human, and so forth. They can only survive in the world of the living for exactly six hours as a spirit. They then must either possess another human or return through the Veil into the Shadow Lands. Demons can be killed by Emerald.
Witches
Females who were originally human, then possessed by a demon, they mastered their possession, and gained powerful knowledge of the arcane arts. By using this knowledge, they control humans by controlling their mind, slowly turning them into nothing more than a drooling zombie of sorts. They can also raise the dead. Once a person is under their control, a witch will slowly drain their mind into her own, effectively lengthening her life span by up to 50 years. While they are not actually immortal, witches can live for a very, very long time. They are characterized by their electric blue eyes, and weak against iron.
Werewolves
Men who originally worshiped the moon as their goddess, they were cursed and warped by their true creator. They turned into twisted creatures thirsty for human flesh. Every full moon they change into a creature half-human and half-beast, cursed to forever wander in search of prey, and to live each month as human, with full knowledge of what they have done. They are weak against silver.
Vampires
Beings who stalk the night and live off human blood, by all means they look completely human in appearance, all save for their eyes. All vampires have blood red eyes, and the closer it comes time for them to feed, the brighter their eyes glow. Weak to the wood of an Aspen tree, vampires can move in sunlight, and live normal lives, save for their inhuman thirst for human blood.
Dragons
Creatures who are able to change their shape at will, they live among humans, feeding off of the energy a human gives off. Known as spirit energy, chakkra, chi, all these things are what Dragons eat. While most of them prefer to stay in their Shadow form, a few go around as humans, some animals. A few even appear as a Warden, though they are usually the younger, stupid ones. Dragons are weak to diamond, despite the old tales that they are drawn to treasure and gems. They are the strongest of all races, because they are the only ones who do not need physical contact to consume their prey. Only Wardens are allowed to hunt them, and even then, all four are dispatched at once.
Order of Shaodws
The Order has many different sub-orders a Shadow Stalker may fall into.
Warden - The Seniors of the Order, there are only four at a time. They handle the affairs with correlating and passing out missions to the Strykers.
~4 spots open~
Stryker - The main force of the order, Strykers are paired together as soon as they graduate. Each specialize in two different races, and both partners differ in that regard, so that they are never at a disadvantage. The only race that you cannot specialize in is Dragons.
~5 spots open~
Flicken - While they are not Wardens, these people are desperately important. However, they are veiwed as scum by most of the order because of what they are. Half-human half-shadow, they are those who search the Veil, making sure it stays closed. There are three types of Flicken.
~1 spot each open~Menders - They are the ones that take care of the easy rips and tears. The ones that can be fixed by simply patching them up. They are half-witch
Shifters - Their the ones that take care of the ones created because one of the side has learned about things on the opposite side. They can change into a form appropriate for what ever side and try and return their mind states into believing certain things aren't real. They are half-werewolf.
Erasers - one hopes to never meet one of them. They fix the hardest to mend holes and rips by completely eliminating the source of the tear or rip. These are rarely used though and have only be used once or twice over the span of all time. They are half-demon.
Beobachter - These are also not Wardens, and are the ones who come after the Flicken. These people actually mend the rips and tears found by the Flicken, and are also half-breeds.
~1 spot each open~Flyers - They are the ones that can fly in order to guard the higher parts of the Veil. They are half-dragon.
Walkers - They can not fly and guard of the lower parts of the Veil. They are half-vampire.
Student - Those who were conscripted into the Order and are still in training.
~No spots open, NPC only~
Plot
While this is a rather open-ended plot, it will mainly follow my character, a rather new Stryker with an amazing track record. The youngest Stryker in over a century, he graduates at 19 and is partnered with an older member who recently lost their partner. Brash and headstrong, he runs into trouble four missions in, running into a Vampire. But instead of killing him, the Vampire decided to turn him, but not completely. He is now one of the Phantyms
A human vampire hybrid who will age just like any human, but thirst for human blood, and they will by cursed by the red eyes of a vampire for the rest of their lives. Imbued with the strength, speed, and deadly skill of a true vampire, yet still mortal, he hides among his Stalker brethren, the only one who knows of his secret is his partner. But how long can they hide? Because the sentence for him will be death, as well as for his partner, as his partner should have killed him on sight for what he had become. With so many prying eyes, how long will they be safe from their own kind?

Re: Shadow Stalkers
Tsuki, while I like the idea, a half-ling cannot become a Stalker unless she hides it very very well. Otherwise they will execute her. My main plot is the fact that my character, the prodigy of the Wardens, is half-human half-vampire. He's doing his best to conceal it from his superiors, and his partner knows his secret. And effectively, because she was possessed yet still remained human, she would only be a witch, because that would be considered mastering her possession.
Re: Shadow Stalkers
Idea 1: A Human who, after their entire city was massacred by Vampires, vowed revenge, and, taking up twin daggers forged specifically to slay vampires, and bringing with them a small supply of food and water, wandered off on the track of the Vampires, charging after them and into the Veil. During this time, they fight countless battles and kill several Vampires, slowly becoming weaker and weaker and yet refusing to stop, eventually keeping their body from falling apart with sheer determination until they finally hunt down the ones they seek to slay, and, avenging those they care about, finally collapse and die. However, due to their sheer will to live, they find themselves unable to pass on to the afterlife, and so end up as a ghost for a while until they finally master shaping their soul into a perfect replica of their old Human form, also compressing their soul to form replicas of the weapons they used in life. You might be asking why I went to such an extent to do this. The answer is that this would serve as a justification to the abilities "Short range teleportation" - as the character could deconstruct and reconstruct their body at will within a certain range thanks to its spiritual composition - "body enhancement/regeneration" - since they could toughen and amplify their physical abilities by compressing the composition of their soul, and could repair injuries sustained fairly quickly - "flight" - since they could just partially deconstruct their body so as to defy gravity - and "the power to create and manipulate a theoretically unlimited amount of knives" - because they can create said knives with their soul and control them at will, allowing them to effectively spam rains of throwing knives so long as they have the strength to do so. Of course, since they've replicated a Human form perfectly, they'd be susceptible to standard lethal wounds, which would simply destroy their soul and remove them from existence, and more complex injuries would take them some time and concentration to fix, so they're no immortal. Still, I really liked the idea, and thought I'd try to use it here.
Idea 2: A Human whose village was attacked by Demons, which possessed several individuals including her. Unaware of what had happened to her during the first stages of possession, she tried to follow her parents as they fled, only to be turned upon and stabbed by her own father, plunging her into despair which, ironically enough, was enough to break the possession of the Demon - but not to fully expel or subdue it - just in time to be thrown underground and shut up inside a mountain where those possessed by Demons were sealed by the villagers when actual slayers weren't available to kill them. Awakening in her new prison, the character wandered around for several years, forced to live by devouring the other fully Demon-possessed individuals in the Underground, consuming their minds with her newfound Witch abilities, as well as their souls, using the powers of the demon still inside her, and the minds and souls of the Demons that had fully and irrevocably taken them over. Eventually, due to this bizarre, abominable feeding, the minds and souls of the character and the Demon still inside her became one, turning the character into an inhuman mix of Witch and Demon while still somehow preserving her Human heart. By the time she finally fought her way out of the mountain and escaped, the disturbance inside had been noticed, and several slayers had been called to eliminate whatever creature was trying to escape, which could thus kickstart the character's intro arc as she flees from the Stalkers and from Humans in general, trying her best to conceal herself and live a normal life without succumbing to the strange and conflicting natures of Demon and Witch, but perhaps even getting caught up in the affairs of the Stalkers herself and joining them at some point in the hopes of finding a way to seal away her bizarre dual nature for good.
Re: Shadow Stalkers
And since they can't fly i'll just get rid of the flyers all together so theres only one kind of Beobachter TwiliXDragon.
Re: Shadow Stalkers
Also, BlueTeddy, let me see if I have it right about what you are suggesting for shifters. The way I understood your words is that they can be either humans of non human that can change form to adapt to the appropriate world. They want to heal the veil to keep the worlds seperate.
Hmmm, this gives me an idea. I read a book recently and in it there were these creatures called Navitars. These creatures were modified to be able to pilot ships down a river of some really complex stuff that I frankly don't fully understand (the river was called the Nigh). What if these Shifters were modified humans/creatures to be a sort of mix of the two whose purpose was to fix the veil?
This is just an idea, I don't know what the plan in this case is for the RP. I could have totally interperted your post incorrectly, too, BlueTeddy. I think this sounds like an interesting idea. Looking forward to seeing this develop more!

Re: Shadow Stalkers
I don't have anything against Anime at all, but its just not my thing. Seriously though, great idea for an RP, I hope you all have fun!
Re: Shadow Stalkers
Menders- They are the ones that take care of the easy rips and tears. The ones that can be fixed by simply patching them up.
Shifters- Their the ones that take care of the ones created because one of the side has learned about things on the opposite side. They can change into a form appropriate for what ever side and try and return their mind states into believing certain things aren't real.
Erasers- one hopes to never meet one of them. They fix the hardest to mend holes and rips by completely eliminating the source of the tear or rip. These are rarely used though and have only be used once or twice over the span of all time.
Flyers- They are the ones that can fly in order to guard the higher parts of the Veil.
Walkers- They can not fly and guard of the lower parts of the Veil.
I would be a mender in this case. This is just the basic info so just ask me any question about them if you have any.

Re: Shadow Stalkers
Edit: Sorry, i know your still under construction but i was wondering. Could a be a person that tends to the veil. Like, they check it every day for rips and tears and if there are any they mend it. If i can i come up if more about it so it could fit the story.
