It was early morning in Boston. The clouded sky made the streets appear dull, and the activity within the city was minimal. Most of everyone was either still asleep or staying home. Most of the stores and factories hadn't even opened yet. It had just rained the day before and puddles dotted the streets and sidewalks. The condensation from the heat of the inside of buildings and coolness from outside fogged many windows, and the droplets formed by such slid down the panes sluggishly.

Elijah walked around in circles within the lonely street, his pant legs and shoes wet from the soggy ground. He hopped around from puddle to puddle, making as big of a splash as possible, spreading the water around. He sort of made a game with himself using the puddles. He always pictures the puddles within the streets as little mirrors on the ground. Sometimes, these little mirrors lead to an alternate reality in which the skies weren't so dull and the city was busy and happy. If he hopped on the right one, he would jump through this mirror and enter the alternate universe and be happy with his family and friends. So each day, whenever it rained, he got up early to go play in the puddles, making sure to hop on each one, just in case it was the one. It never was, sadly, but he could dream. Besides, it gave him something to do while he waited for the factories to open.

Image That was actually the real reason he was outside so early. Every morning he got up early to go to the local factory to try and convince the manager to give him a job. He was pretty good friends with the man who opened the factory every morning, but he was never able to convince the manager to hire him. So he hoped that his persistence will eventually make him hire him. Besides, sometimes they had positions open for the day if someone got sick. When someone didn't show up, they'd hire the closest for the day and give them a days pay for their work. Again, he was never hired because some sly kid always manages to get past him. But one of these days...

Elijah jumped into another puddle, the water splashing all around him. He laughed to himself and pulled his hat backwards so the bill was behind him. He stepped out of the puddle, waiting for it to settle until a crystal clear reflection was formed once more. He looked at himself in this puddle, squatting down over it to peer into his own brown eyes. He was dirty already, having dirt smudges across his cheeks and nose, despite his mother making him take a bath just the day before. He was never a fan of being clean. All adults who worked were never clean. He saw men walking down the streets after work with grim and stains all over them all the time. At least he use to. His father use to come home with soot all over him all the time. But now he was off in the war. He wished he was like them. Which is why he made a point to have smudges and grime on him too whenever he came home. He felt older and more important when he did. Like he actually did something that day.

He picked up a rock next to the puddle and raised it above it head before letting it plop into the reflective water.

Image Irma had hurried to get the clothes up on the and the twins fed. It had rained last night and she couldn't do clothes like she needed to. Her mother walked into the kitchen and smiled a weak smile. Her mother and father worked hard for the little money they could get. Her brother, Lucas, was drifted into the army so there was one less income. Irma's father was always working; he would return home as Irma was out. Now it was Irma's turn to work. She thank God that she had a nice clean dress to wear to look for work.

Once her mom had her coffee she kissed everyone bye and ran out the door. The air was a bit chill from the rain but she didn't let it bother her. There was an opening in a factory not to far from her home and she wanted to get there early before it opened just in case. Irma made sure to miss all the mud and puddles. She wanted to try to look her best. As she ran she passed up a boy and shook her head. What a weasel. She thought as she hurried around the corner.

Cars zoomed by and people loudly advertised their crops to others passing them. Irma stopped for a second to give Old Miss Helen a nickel for an apple, thank her, and then eat and run all the way to the factory.

The small rock splashed in the puddle, lightly spraying Elijah's already wet shoes. The water ruffled softly for several seconds, but quickly settled down to create the crystal clear reflection as before. But he no longer held interest in the reflection, and the boy soon looked up across the street.

His eyes fells upon an old building, one he had assumed was abandoned many years ago. The windows were dusty and the bricks were old. He was sure that he could knock down that building himself if he tried. Not that he wanted to. Elijah had always taken interest in the odd building. But ever since he moved to this part of Boston not once had he seen any living thing move in or out of it. Not to open the locked door, not to peek through the window. He didn't recall even seeing a rat move in.

Image The boy stood up and stepped over the puddle, running over to the building like the countless times before. He slammed into the wall and pressed his face roughly against the window, smearing more grim and dirt onto his cheeks and nose. He placed his hands around his eyes so he can see within without the overcast light getting in the way. As usual, it was the same empty room. There was an old fireplace that looked more like a stack of bricks than anything, and the ground was covered in filth. Elijah wasn't ever sure if it actually had a floor, because if it did, then that was some dirty floors.

He took a few seconds to observe interior before stepping away from the window, now looking at the impression his face made on the musk in the window. He flipped his hat so the bill was up front again. The boy smiled at the three spots where dirt was absent on the window, as if it were a work of art. But faintly, in the dirty reflection, he saw something moving. He raised an eyebrow and turned around. It was a girl in her frilly litter dress making her way down the street like all girls do. With their snobby noses up and their hands all held out daintily. It was disgusting.

As she passed, Elijah stuck his tongue out and rolled his eyes. Girls were so annoying. He looked down at his shoes and saw a rock, in which he bent over to pick it up. He was about to throw it when a question arose in his head. His eyes grew wide.

Why is a girl dressed up so well walking about this early in the morning while it was so wet and soggy outside?

Elijah instantly dropped the rock and took off after her, heading towards the factory. His loud thunderous footsteps could be heard a mile away, but he ran as fast as her could, holding his hat as he swung around the corner. This street was a little more busy than the last, for there were actually people awake, and there was even a car, which surprised him. Who can afford a car anymore? But he chased the girl down the block. But once he got to her, he simply zoomed past, looking over his shoulder with a mischievous grin.

Irma was a block away from the factory when the boy sped past her and panic shot in her. Oh no! He is going to try and get the job at the factory! She threw the apple down and ran as fast as her legs could go catching up with him in a matter of seconds. "Are you..." She hurried and dodged a lady walking towards them, "Are you going to the factory?!" Irma asked. In the background she heard the thunder. Crap, please don't rain! Her lungs started to get sharp pain, but she couldn't let him get there before her.

The boy ran and ran, and continued on running, even as people yelled for him to slow down and to get out of the way. He dodged between people and junk that scattered the side walks with his natural kid instincts. But just as he thought he lost the girl, he cranked his head over his shoulder to see her following him. He gave another smile.

Wow, this girl isn't like other girls. Sure, she was still gross and wearing that sissy dress and all, but most don't run after him or anything. They'd rather be late to whatever they were heading to than to get a little dirty or to mess up their hair or clothes. It was repulsing. He'll never understand them, but this girl obviously had her priorities straight.

Elijah looked ahead of him though, and as he did, he gasped as a woman was walking towards him. He quickly jerked himself the the side, ducking under the woman's hand bag, and stumbling a few feet. But he quickly recovered and kept running. The girl had caught up to him, however, and asked if he was going to the factory, which was a rather silly question. "Duh!" He exclaimed.

Why do woman always ask questions like that? The answers are always so obvious, it makes him want to puke. There was this one time when he was playing with a stick and swinging it around and this one girl came up to him and asked what he was doing. He was playing with a stupid stick! What else would he be doing? Finding gold? If there was any gold he would be finding it. He was really good at finding things. Especially things he needed. His family would surely need the gold. But of course there was none left from the gold rushes and all. But it was a silly question. What was he doing. Most of the time you can tell what the person is doing by just looking at them. Nothing to it but that.

Elijah kept running, the factory now in sight.

Image Irma could see the factory up ahead. It was a Cadillac Motor Car Company that sat next to the rail road tracks. She used to play on those tracts and can remember the adults yelling for her not to play on them. How they were dangerous and she could either get seriously hurt or killed.

And along with the thunder a familiar sound came rumbling after, the train. Irma yanked her head to the side and saw it coming, full speed. If she was stuck on the other side of the tracks someone could end up with the job. Irma pushed her feet from the ground and head full speed towards the tracks. Jumping them and almost stumbling down as she landed, but she kept running. She paid no mind to the boy. Irma only hoped he wasn't stupid enough to get him by the train.

Elijah looked up to the overcast sky as thunder boomed through the air. He's always loved the rain, so he's never really been concerned for getting wet or rained on, so whether it rained or not it didn't matter to him. However, another rumble made it to his ears and he looked ahead.

Elijah was very familiar with the train tracks. He was one of many kids who liked to run along them and play on them. He even would sit y the tracks and count how many cars the trains had as they passed by. One time he even tried to out run one, but even though it was the slowest train he had ever seen, he still couldn't keep up with it for longer than ten seconds. So he was very familiar with the tracks.

But he wasn't stupid.

When he saw the train already so close, he came to an abrupt halt, skidding across the pavement to stop. The sudden stop made him trip and he collided with the pavement with a tumble and roll. He didn't hit his head, or at least very hard, so he was able to look up at the girl, who- wait, was she speeding up?!

"What are ya doing?!" Elijah called after her. She wasn't going to try and jump it was she?! "Ya aren't gonna make it!!" He screamed. But it was already far too late. Before he was even able to finish his sentence, she jumped. He couldn't watch.

Elijah closed his eyes, the blaring of the trains horn and wheels making him wince in fear. The wheels rolled by and clacked against the tracks. He couldn't open his eyes until he heard the clattering slowly disappear. He quickly looked over, not seeing the girl on the other side. His heart started to race and his brown eyes got wide. Did she not make it?! The boy pushed himself up and he took a few steps before stopping with a loud groan. His ankle throbbed in pain and Elijah looked down. He must have twisted it when he fell trying to stop. But he didn't pay much heed to it and quickly half limped over to the tracks.

His eyes scanned the area quickly, though he didn't find any torn clothe or pieces of someone's face, or even blood for that fact. He let out a breath that he didn't realize he was holding in relief. So she made it. Good thing she wasn't dead. He had no idea what he would have done if she died right there. He didn't know or name or nothing, and if she got squashed by a train, no one would even be able to recognize her. He let a smirk reach his lips and he took a deep breath to calm his racing heart. That girl got some guts if he could say.

But she made it...

Elijah's smile turned into a frown and he looked down the tracks at the train that was now off in the distance. She was probably already at the factory by now. The old chap Ken probably already opened the doors by now, and whatever job was opened was probably given to her. Elijah sigh and looked at the ground, then his legs.

His legs stung like there were needles in them and his ankle continued to throb. He plopped himself down next to the tracks and rolled up his pants. There were a few scraps and scratches, but nothing that would bother him much. After all, he was a boy. Boys got scratches and stuff all the time. The ankle wasn't much either. He could handle it. After all, he was the man of the house now. He couldn't let a small sprain slow him down.

Though, Elijah didn't get up. Instead, after pulling his pant legs back down, he set his arms on his legs and rested his chin on them, continuing to stare down at the track at the train that was now long gone.

Irma heard the boy yelling that she wouldn't make it but she kept running, jumping over boards and what not. She slowed down and caught her breath before going up to Mr. Ken. "Good morning, Mr. Ken! I was wondering if I can have a job! You know I am good at anything! I promise to work real hard and to never be late or complain!" She begged before even giving him a chance."

Mr. Ken laugh but it wasn't all that happy. "I am sorry, Irma. I know you would be a great worker but we need adults to fill the spots. If a child's spot opens I promise to come hollerin." He handed her and dollar and told her to get her a candy and soda pop. Irma gave him and big smile and thanked him before walking off. Of course she was sad as she looked at the dollar in her hand. As she got back to the tracks the boy was still there. She stuffed the dollar in her pocket and walked over to him. "Are you okay, boy?"

Elijah continued to sit there, seemingly starring off into space. He look rather frustrated, and of course he was, but in all honesty, it wasn't the fact that he wasn't able to get a job or that the girl beat him. He was upset over a lot of things. Like why were there never any jobs for him to do and why weren't there any jobs for almost anyone? And why were all the dad's taken away to fight? Why was there a fight? Why was his mom sick and why did he have to take care of Sammy and Joshua? Why didn't anyone just grow up and stop fighting so that everyone can get on with their lives and not have to scram to get even a pretty penny that wouldn't even last a day?!

Elijah knew most of the answers to these already though, even if they weren't whole answers. But it still troubled him to think about why and how this all could happen. How could grown up be so selfish? Taking away his dad and making his mom sick. Did they know that what they were doing affected him too? That it affected him and Sammy and Josh? Adults were so selfish. Adults and girls. People were selfish.

He just wanted things to go back to the way they were. He wanted his dad back and mom to be better and for him to play outside with Sammy instead of trying to get a job. He just wanted things to go back to normal. Was that so much to ask?

A tear of anger and pity ran down the boys face, tough it was ill timed, for the girl had returned. Elijah looked up at her startled. Why wasn't she at the factory working? "Pfft." The boy quickly turned away and used his sleeve to wipe the tear away with a loud sniff. "I'm fine, girl." He mocked in a rather angry tone. Calling him boy. Who does she think she is? He wasn't a boy. At least not anymore.

Elijah stood up with a grunt, trying not to put pressure on his foot yet at the same time looking as if nothing was wrong. He did a terrible job at both. He looked at his jacket and shirt, which were now dirty, and straightened them out with a huff like attitude. "Why aren't ya at the factory workin'?" He attempted to sound uninterested. But he was far too interested in why she came back, in reality. Was there no jobs available today?

Irma could see the tear and was worried he was hurt. She was going to ask him why he was crying but she figured what the reason might be. It was obvious he was angry that he didn't get to the factory first but it is not like there was a job. Irma took a step back as he stood up, not wanting to get in the way. But she could see that he was hurt and his clothes we dirty. He must of fell when running. She thought. Not that she wanted to tell him what happened or anything but she was worried and didn't really want him to walk on the foot until he rested a bit more.

"They said I was too good for them and would work them to the top too fast." Irma smiled and offered her shoulder for him to lean on after she brushed her hair out the way. "Look I know you are hurt. I am not stupid. I got a dollar from Mr. Ken and we can go get a snack and soda, okay? You need to rest your foot." Her blue eyes shined with kindness. She knew she should have kept the dollar for her family, but with a soda pop being six cents and a snack only five cents she would have change left over.

The boy couldn't help but scoff at her first reply. Girl were always cocky. It bugged him. Everything was always about them and they were obviously better than everything and the best at everything. That's why girls always got into those dumb arguments about who was prettier and all that crap. They just had to be better than everyone else. There was no way in the world that they could be second in anything.

Which was funny thing actually, because he knew of plenty of things he was better at. Like running and climbing and jumping and fighting and wrestling and plenty of other stuff. All girls knew how to do was how to wear dresses and act all sissy and pretty amd stuff. It was horrible.

"I didn' say you wa stupid." Elijah stuffed his hands into his pocket. He wasn't exactly sure what she was trying to do exactly by saying all this. Was she trying to impress him or show him who's boss or just being nice? Whatever it was, he didn't life it. "And I don' need ya help either." He started to limp away as casually as he could. "I got loads of money at home so I cawn get candy anytime I wan'." Well that sort of slipped out. Oh well. Can't take it back now.

Although he didn't really have loads of money, or much money at all, he still didn't want to accept the help. Because what would dad say if he got help from someone who showed him up in such a rude fashion? He would be a joke. He sure didn't want to be a joke. "And ma foot is fine, t'ank ya very much." He adjusted his hat in a rough fashion as if to say 'period'. That's what his mom said all the time. 'You're going to clean up the house. Period.' or 'You're going to watch Joshua. Period.'. It sounded serious and he's always taken it as such. So that was kind of like his period. 'I don't need your help. Period.'

Irma looked him up and down again. She knew he didn't have loads of money or else he wouldn't of raced her to the factory OR have clothes like that. What was his problem? All she wanted to do was help him. Yeah, she tried to take the job he was going for but it was dog eat dog world and she had to bite. She watched him limp away and slowly followed him. "If you have loads of money then why were you running to the factory. AND your foot is not fine." She lightly poked him on the shoulder to see if he could even balance.

Making up excuses for his actions was like Elijah's superpower. At least that's what he considered it. He had three powers, actually. Running, sneaking, and making excuses. He was always good at those. So when the girl wanted an explanation, one easily slipped past his lips,"Itsa game, dummy. Have ya eva heard of a race?"

He didn't even turn around, still determined to keep that 'period' attitude. "And it is too."

As the rambled back and forth, Elijah subconsciously made his way towards the abandoned building. He walked through all the puddles until he made it to the front door. He stopped, realizing that he had walked to it for some odd reason. But in an attempt to make look like he knew what he was doing, he pretended to fidget with the lock as if he was trying to pick it. He gave a fake groan, as if frustrated that it was locked and looked over at one of the cracked windows.

Not a lot of things went past Irma. She knew when someone was lying thanks to her daddy. He said it was all in the body language and eyes. He said that it would come in handy when someone was trying to sell her something or even befriend her. So Irma knew that Elijah was just a prideful liar but that didn't stop her from following him. He lead her to an old building which in a way looked horrifying yet beautiful. Still she was wondering why he came here...with a hurt foot but she couldn't leave him knowing that. What if he needed a hand and no one was there? It broke her heart just thinking about it. Momma and Daddy didn't raise a fool.

She kind of went quiet, wondering why he was trying to break into a building that obviously wasn't his. Irma covered her mouth to reframe from laughing. She didn't want to upset him anymore then he seemed to be. Covering his hand on the doorknob she shook the handle a few times and the door opened. "There." She smiled, feeling like she helped him in someway. Squeezing past him she made her way into the building, coughing as dust filled her lungs. It looked to have been an old hotel or something. "Wow..." She whispered, running her fingertips over the counter.

Although Elijah had seen the building and had looked in it thousands of times, he had never gotten as far as try to get in it. He's always been the type of kid to avoid locked doors, for they are locked for a reason. So really, Elijah had no idea why he was even pretending to open this door, because he likely wasn't going to go in anyway. But he did, and he fumbled and fidgeted with the locked and handle for a bit, trying to appear too occupied to notice the girl there anymore.

But then she came over and actually opened the door. Was this girl crazy?

Elijah gave her a hardy glare, almost as if to say she wasn't suppose to open the door. Because she really wasn't. Though it didn't do much besides have her enter the dang building. What was he going to do now? He couldn't go in to get her, what if he got caught? But he couldn't leave her in there or else she might get caught. But he didn't want to admit he'd never been in here before after acting all showy and all.

Instead of doing anything at all, Elijah simply stood in the doorway in though, starring at the girl as she awed at the dusty furniture.

The building seemed sturdy enough as Irma kept walking in. It took her a moment to realize that the boy hadn't followed her in. Turning around on her heels she smirked sly. "What? Afraid?" Placing her hand on her hips she looked down her nose at the boy. She had no idea who he was. Just a strange boy who wanted the job she was going for. She hadn't been on an adventure in a long time and wanted to make the most of it.

ImageWinking at the boy she continued on in her investigation of the old building. In the next room something shinned through the clutter. Bending over she gently picked it up and dusted it off. It was an old pocket watch with a key. She turned it over and an inscription of a man's name was on the back, Johnathan Fern. "Oh cool!" She yelled.

Re: Silent Generation

I'm everything you've wanted
I am the one who's haunting you
I am the eyes inside of you
Stare back at you

There's nothing left to lose
There's nothing left to prove
Surrender your love
It's all you can do, yeah

What you got
What you want
What you need
Gonna be your savior
Everything's gonna crash and break
But I know, yeah, I know
What you got
What you want
What you need
Gonna be your savior
Everything's gonna crash and break
Your savior

It's time to redefine
Your deophobic mind
Don't hesitate, no escape
From secrets on the inside

There's nothing left to lose
There's nothing left to prove
Surrender your love
It's all you can do, yeah

What you got
What you want
What you need
Gonna be your savior
Everything's gonna crash and break
But I know, yeah, I know
What you got
What you want
What you need
Gonna be your savior
Everything's gonna crash and break
Your savior

I am the eyes inside
Staring back at you

I am the eyes inside
Staring back at you

You need, you need me, yeah

What you got
What you need
Everything's gonna crash and break
What you got
What you need
Everything's gonna crash and break

What you got
What you want
What you need
Gonna be your savior
Everything's gonna crash and break
But I know, yeah, I know
What you got
What you want
What you need
Gonna be your savior
Everything's gonna crash and break
Your savior

I'm watching you
Cause you need me
Yeah, yeah, cause you need me
I'm watching you

Re: Silent Generation

If I had to
I would put myself right beside you
So let me ask
Would you like that?
Would you like that?

And I don't mind
If you say this love is the last time
So now I'll ask
Do you like that?
Do you like that?

No!

Something's getting in the way.
Something's just about to break.
I will try to find my place in the diary of Jane.
So tell me how it should be.

Try to find out what makes you tick.
As I lie down
Sore and sick.
Do you like that?
Do you like that?

There's a fine line between love and hate.
And I don't mind.
Just let me say that
I like that
I like that

Something's getting in the way.
Something's just about to break.
I will try to find my place in the diary of Jane.
As I burn another page,
As I look the other way.
I still try to find my place in the diary of Jane.
So tell me how it should be.

Desperate, I will crawl
Waiting for so long
No love, there is no love.
Die for anyone
What have I become?

Something's getting in the way.
Something's just about to break.
I will try to find my place in the diary of Jane.
As I burn another page,
As I look the other way.
I still try to find my place in the diary of Jane.

Everything is awesome
Everything is cool when you're part of a team
Everything is awesome when we're living our dream

Everything is better when we stick together
Side by side, you and I gonna win forever, let's party forever
We're the same, I'm like you, you're like me, we're all working in harmony

Everything is awesome
Everything is cool when you're part of a team
Everything is awesome when we're living our dream

(Wooo)
3, 2, 1. Go

Have you heard the news, everyone's talking
Life is good 'cause everything's awesome
Lost my job, it's a new opportunity
More free time for my awesome community

I feel more awesome than an awesome possum
Dip my body in chocolate frostin'
Three years later, wash off the frostin'
Smellin' like a blossom, everything is awesome
Stepped in mud, got new brown shoes
It's awesome to win, and it's awesome to lose (it's awesome to lose)

Everything is better when we stick together
Side by side, you and I, gonna win forever, let's party forever
We're the same, I'm like you, you're like me, we're all working in harmony

Everything is awesome
Everything is cool when you're part of a team
Everything is awesome when we're living our dream

Blue skies, bouncy springs
We just named two awesome things
A Nobel prize, a piece of string
You know what's awesome? EVERYTHING!

Dogs with fleas, allergies,
A book of Greek antiquities
Brand new pants, a very old vest
Awesome items are the best

Trees, frogs, clogs
They're awesome
Rocks, clocks, and socks
They're awesome
Figs, and jigs, and twigs
That's awesome
Everything you see, or think, or say
Is awesome

Everything is awesome
Everything is cool when you're part of a team
Everything is awesome when we're living our dream

Re: Silent Generation

And I'd give up forever to touch you
'Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't wanna go home right now

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
When sooner or later it's over
I just don't wanna miss you tonight

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah, you bleed just to know you're alive

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

Re: Silent Generation

Where are the people that accused me?
The ones who beat me down and bruised me
They hide just out of sight
Can't face me in the light
They'll return but I'll be stronger

God, I want to dream again
Take me where I've never been
I want to go there
This time I'm not scared
Now I am unbreakable, it's unmistakable
No one can touch me
Nothing can stop me

Sometimes it's hard to just keep going
But faith is moving without knowing
Can I trust what I can't see?
To reach my destiny
I want to take control but I know better

God, I want to dream again
Take me where I've never been
I want to go there
This time I'm not scared
Now I am unbreakable, it's unmistakable
No one can touch me
Nothing can stop me

Forget the fear it's just a crutch
That tries to hold you back
And turn your dreams to dust
All you need to do is just trust

God, I want to dream again
Take me where I've never been
I want to go there
This time I'm not scared
Now I am unbreakable, it's unmistakable
No one can touch me
Nothing can stop me

God, I want to dream again
Take me where I've never been
I want to go there
This time I'm not scared
Now I am unbreakable, it's unmistakable
No one can touch me
Nothing can stop me

Re: Silent Generation

I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
'Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me

You used to captivate me by your resonating light
Now I'm bound by the life you left behind
Your face—it haunts my once pleasant dreams
Your voice—it chased away all the sanity in me

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But though you're still with me
I've been alone all along

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me

...me, me, me.

Re: Silent Generation

Oh, misty eye of the mountain below
Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls
And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke
Keep watching over Durin's sons

If this is to end in fire
Then we should all burn together
Watch the flames climb high into the night

Calling out father oh
Stand by and we will
Watch the flames burn auburn on
The mountain side high

And if we should die tonight
Then we should all die together
Raise a glass of wine for the last time

Calling out father oh
Prepare as we will
Watch the flames burn auburn on
The mountain side
Desolation comes upon the sky

Now I see fire
Inside the mountain
I see fire
Burning the trees
And I see fire
Hollowing souls
I see fire
Blood in the breeze
And I hope that you remember me

Oh, should my people fall
Then surely I'll do the same
Confined in mountain halls
We got too close to the flame

Calling out father oh
Hold fast and we will
Watch the flames burn auburn on
The mountain side
Desolation comes upon the sky

Now I see fire
Inside the mountain
I see fire
Burning the trees
I see fire
Hollowing souls
I see fire
Blood in the breeze
And I hope that you remember me

And if the night is burning
I will cover my eyes
For if the dark returns
Then my brothers will die
And as the sky is falling down
It crashed into this lonely town
And with that shadow upon the ground
I hear my people screaming out

And I see fire
Inside the mountains
I see fire
Burning the trees
I see fire
Hollowing souls
I see fire
Blood in the breeze

I see fire (oh you know I saw a city burn) (fire)
And I see fire (feel the heat upon my skin, yeah) (fire)
And I see fire (uh-uh-uh-uh) (fire)
And I see fire burn auburn on the mountain side

Re: Silent Generation

Home is behind
The world ahead
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadow
To the edge of night
Until the stars are all alight

Mist and shadow
Cloud and shade
All shall fade
All shall
Fade

Re: Silent Generation

Far over the Misty Mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away ere break of day,
To find our long-forgotten gold

The pines were roaring on the height
The winds were moaning in the night
The fire was red, it flaming spread
The trees like torches blazed with light

On silver necklaces they strung
The flowering stars, on crowns they hung
The dragon-fire, in twisted wire
They meshed the light of moon and sun.

Re: Silent Generation

Aaaand, last one.

“Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away ere break of day
To seek the pale enchanted gold.

The dwarves of yore made mighty spells,
While hammers fell like ringing bells
In places deep, where dark things sleep,
In hollow halls beneath the fells.

For ancient king and elvish lord
There many a gleaming golden hoard
They shaped and wrought, and light they caught
To hide in gems on hilt of sword.

On silver necklaces they strung
The flowering stars, on crowns they hung
The dragon-fire, in twisted wire
They meshed the light of moon and sun.

Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away, ere break of day,
To claim our long-forgotten gold.

Goblets they carved there for themselves
And harps of gold; where no man delves
There lay they long, and many a song
Was sung unheard by men or elves.

The pines were roaring on the height,
The wind was moaning in the night.
The fire was red, it flaming spread;
The trees like torches blazed with light.

The bells were ringing in the dale
And men looked up with faces pale;
The dragon's ire more fierce than fire
Laid low their towers and houses frail.

The mountain smoked beneath the moon;
The dwarves, they heard the tramp of doom.
They fled their hall to dying fall
Beneath his feet, beneath the moon.

Far over the misty mountains grim
To dungeons deep and caverns dim
We must away, ere break of day,
To win our harps and gold from him!”

“to live in this world

you must be able
to do three things
to love what is mortal;
to hold it

against your bones knowing
your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go,
to let it go”

Once when you're born

Re: Silent Generation

“Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire,
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.”
― Robert Frost

everybody else means to fight the hardest battle
which any human being can fight and never stop fighting.”

Re: Silent Generation

“The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
― Robert Frost

Re: Silent Generation

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

So, I don't mean to spam or anything, and I honestly hope this isn't considered so, since the person doing this 1x1 with me was banned, but I need the ability to PM pretty badly for my current rp's and everything so I'm just going to get my 10 posts out here so that way I don't have to spam or bug any other forum.
