The winter was expected to be harsh but this much snowfall hadn't been expected. The town of Hijserthan may have only a foot layer of snow on the streets and there is a constant flurry going on, however the town has been cut off from the outside world. But that is not the major problem. The big problem is that there are a number of vampires that had remained dormant among the population and now is their chance to strike. While some are out for a feeding frenzy, other vampires don't seek to kill or act like lunatics. But the humans might not be able to differentiate between the evil ones and the good ones. Now it is time for survival and it will be earliest a week when a connection to the outside world can be reestablished.

Hijserthal: Hijserthal is a town of about 30,000 in a valley. During this winterstorm it has been cut off from the remainder of the world. Only mainlines (telephone and internet) work. Electricity is also available. Heating is running around the clock as it is minus 20 degrees outside. There is a foot deep layer of snow outside with a tendency to get deeper as the snowfall is not stopping. The town has usual facilities and the residences are mostly houses except for in the town center where apartment buildings exist. For every necessity you must go to the town center unless it is groceries as there are two grocery stores that are a bit more outlying.

Vampires: The rules for vampires are: Silver bullets don't kill, however they are still quite effective. Garlic and crosses don't work. Incineration and sunlight are the most effective methods to kill as shot vampire heads can slowly regenerate and hearts must be not only pierced but destroyed. No glittering/sparkling!
