-Petryn is a world slightly larger than Earth, and inhabited by gods, or demiurges as they are known, and rule over a variety of aspects of life. The exact number of demiurges is unknown.
For countless eons, the demiurges have ruled over Petryn. Some intelligent, pursuing their own agendas, fighting amongst themselves, or simply continuing on with their existence. Most however, are seemingly simple minded, acting according to some inscrutable whim and trampling anything under foot.
Two suns sit heavy in the sky, the Maw devouring his younger brother, Thresh, while their sister, Lunaris watches from a distance, guarded from outside influence by the Three Travelers.

The mortal races in general have abandoned notions of worship and piety, believing ( rightly so ) that the gods are as indifferent to them as man is to insects. For centuries this hatred has been festering.
Seven hundred years ago, this anger made itself manifest when it was whispered that the demiurge of the arcane warred with the demiurge of war. Their feud shattered a continent and shook the planet to its very foundations. With the triumph of War, the death cries of his fallen foe drove many of the world's most powerful mages insane. In one night madness kingdoms burned and entire swaths of land were destroyed. When the suns rose, these powerful mages were gone. This event became known as The Sundering, and since then, anyone with magical talents are either slain or enslaved.
