The connection between animals and humans through Soul Threads have existed since anyone can remember. An animal finds a way to their human from birth and both adapt to each other's attitude and temper. The animal remains with their person for the rest of their lives, and for a while it was just living normally with their animal.
But now, in modern day, the people have realized the potential of their Threads. They attend a special school, Soul Thread Academy, or STA. Here they train and learn, with classes specialized for their animal partner. Things have gone well, the academy's tenth anniversary celebration is coming up and the students are excited. But one student sees this as an opportunity to destroy the fragile Soul Thread connection permanently..
For a long time, only powerful and rich families could attend the STA. But now everyone with a Thread and good grades can join this 'friendly and social learning community'. The disciplinarian principal, Mr. Kingston, holds this reputation tightly and will do anything to uphold the STA name.
But there's always a bad guy, isn't there? It would seem so. After the defeat of Vincent West, Jamie's corrupt father, there's another man out there who's plotting against the school. But he's in a different country completely; but he's all around. New laboratories are popping up everywhere. The police and government are supporting them.. why not? However, this man is intrigued in Soul Threads and believes that he can make them better. Experimentation and captivity are all that await those who become subjects at his laboratory. The two sides are at civil war, the STA students, a bunch of under-trained, naive kids versus the brilliant, well-funded scientist group under a notorious name. Other creations, including corrupt Soul Threads themselves, are being sent to capture students and kill anything that gets in their way. Disappearances are beginning to worry the school, and students fear it may be shut down. But these kids have no where to go, most of their families are dead or won't accept them. Our villain here seems intent on getting his hands on our good friends here who completed the mission to save Jamie and destroy the headquarters of her father. Because, well, they're a little different than the others.
So what are you going to do? Remain at the school and protect your friends, and risk getting taken yourself? Or going out to eliminate branches of laboratories around the world? Even to destroy the head of the madness?

Eve put down her pen with a contented sigh. Pages upon pages of blue inked words were laid out upon the tabletop. Kerwin hopped up on to the desktop, albeit with difficulty. The tiny raccoon had grown a bit pudgy over the years.
"It's finally finished Kerwin!" Eve chuckled and scratched her thread between the ears. Yes, Eve had written a book - a young-adult novel at that. Eve deftly stacked the pages together and fastened it together with a binder clip. Eve smiled. The book was something personal to her. In fact, it was more of a journal. It catalogued all that had happened in her junior year at STA. Eve remembered the day like it was yesterday...
She along with Lukas and the other kids had traveled to the hospital, tensed for a fight. However, little happened immediately. The tension stirred in the air, thick like molasses. But when Alex got out of surgery, everything brightened. Together, the group of kids snuck back to school with the intension of running and never returning. However, something astonishing happened. By the tim the group of teens had returned to STA, it was the next morning. Kerwin had spotted a newspaper lying on the ground. It wasn't an ordinary paper. It was an extra issue, barely published. Eve snatched it up reading the headline. In bold was the news of numerous Better Living Industries that had suffered mysterious accidents. According to the paper, a huge fallout in the BLI computer system caused a shutdown of every lab. Dangerous compounds exploded, killing many scientists. It seemed as if it offed Vandara himself as well, for the man had disappeared off the grid.
So the kids stayed. Eve finished her junior year quite uneventfully. But she would never forget that first week of school at the academy. Sadly, after that year, STA closed. Evidently, parents were withdrawing their children because of safety concerns. Eve herself had always done extremely well in school, and was allowed to be taught at Harvard a year early. Her father worked there as a history professor and pulled some strings. He found teachers that were able to tutor Eve through her senior year. For college, Eve actually went to Williams College in Massachusetts. There, she majored in English and in Music Theory. Eve was never truly strong enough to excel in professional art, however Eve did go on to illustrate her own writing endeavors.
Eve graduated for Williams with flying colors... and immediately went on to write a book. No matter how much time had passed, Eve never forgot her associates at STA and the trails they had gone through. So she wrote about it. Of course, she employed different names and entered the book under the category of fiction.
Eve grinned once more at the manuscript in front of her. She would send it to her editor first thing tomorrow. She'd still like to give it a nice read-through.
5 Months Later:
Eve held the first copy of her book in her small hands. It was a fairly thick book, considering she had added some things, and embellished the story a bit. Eve ran her fingers lightly over the title. Knotted. On the cover was a silhouette of a girl and a fox siting on a flight of stairs. Up in the air was a tiny image of a soaring hawk.
Eve set the book down on her desk next to multiple others. She started addressing the envelopes. It had taken some time, but Eve had finally tracked down each person who had been there during that fateful first week of 2018. Eve wrote the first name in flowing script. Jamie West.
Eve later sent a copy of her book to each of the brave teens who had fought for there lives at STA. Eve herself lived alone for a while in the town of Greenwich, Connecticut. At the age of 27, Eve met her husband, Peter, in a local coffee shop. Eve married Peter at the age of 30, and had their first child the year after. It was a baby girl. Eve named her Amanda.
Amanda was like her mother. She had a Soul Thread as well. Eve watched as her daughter grow up, a lynx forever standing by her side. Amanda went on to become a successful artist in New York City.
Eve herself lived a long life with Kerwin, both living to the age of 87. Eve's husband, Peter, died at the age of 89 from a heart attack. Shortly after, Eve and Kerwin both died in their sleep. Amanda sculpted a statue for both her parents, including Kerwin sitting faithfully on Eve's shoulder. Amanda also was an alumna to the New York Soul Threads Academy. She later funded a scholarship under her mother's name, giving opportunity to those students with mental disabilities and issues.
In later years, Knotted became a best-seller, and was a popular amongst the entire young soul thread community.

A tear roles down Melonie's pink cheek as she carefully turns the pages of the yearbook. Her eyes meet with the familiar faces in the pages, they were almost unrecognizable, smiling faces replaced the normal emotion she saw everyday. Closing the book Melonie's hand still placed on the beaten up cover. Something caught her eye, a corner of a lined piece of paper stuck out. Carefully unfolding the paper Melonie's eye once again teared up "Its a note from Alex." she whispered, Rue purred in response. A love letter. She smiled as she rubbed Rue's soft head gently.
Do you miss them?
Yes, always have, always will
Not a word from anyone since the hospital, budget cuts brought the school down sending Kingston running. Vandara is off the charts out of sight out of mind. Rue curls up on Melonie's lap as she cries softly. Melonie twirled a lollipop in her fingers making her eye gaze at the shinny wrapper. Placing her hail in her usual two high pigtails her golden hair flowed like an ocean of gold. Drawings and stories cover her desk as she works on her most resent master piece.
Melonie got a job as teacher at the age of 26. Nightmares haunted her for more then half her life. Her love life was unstable ever since she lost touch with Alex. Going back to her younger days, Melonie had a rough patch filled with drugs and attempt of suicide. One day she met a man at a library, love at first sight. At the age of 29 she got married to the young man named Matthew who was in the army. Stress was tense when Matthew was gone off leaving Melonie with her two kids. Melonie never regretted going to STA, it taught her to face her fears. Her two kids Patricia and Alexandra were smart, open minded, and confident. Sadly Alexandra never got a soul thread like her sister. Patricia blessed with a red fox as sly and clever as her stood by her side.
Melonie died at the age 83, with Rue and Matthew by her side. Life could never prepare you for what they experienced at Soul threads. Melonie truly blossomed as she graduated college and got her life straight. Here and there she swears she sees someone from STA, Rue never doubted her. Years filled with joy, tears, blood, guns, knifes, death, friends, and love made life worth living showing them that life is short. She was sad to see it go, who ever said high-school isn't the best time of your life, lied. Melonie wondered everyday where her friends have gone, how they have been holding up.
((Thank you for being here to bring this story to life! I will miss this story sooo much. Everyone will remain close to my heart. Greyson moved on with his life after his adventures at Soul Threads Academy. He missed his friends greatly, but that chapter of his life was over, though would always be remembered, especially Jamie, his first true love.
He ultimately had to move because of the memories that lingered in San Francisco. Greyson and Coad moved to North Carolina, where he studied at Duke University and went on to become a top surgeon at Moses Cone Hospital, saving multiple lives with his colleagues. For a long time, he and Coad lived alone, drowning in memories, until one day, he found a book entitled Knotted by one of his old friends from Soul Threads. Greyson bought the book and remembered everything that was addressed in the book, when it actually happened. When he finished the book, it seemed that it was closure for all the memories and nightmares that haunted him. That was behind him now.
Eventually, Greyson married a beautiful woman that together they raised three children named Samuel, Brooke, and David. Luckily, none of the kids had a Soul Thread.
Greyson and Coad died together at the same instant, it was said, by an unknown disease at the age of 82.

Alexander Greham died after entering a coma due to severe blood loss. He was twenty when he passed away. No one came to his funeral because no one was near. He was burried in the woods under a large oak tree. Snow died not too long after they pulled the plug. It turns out that Alex and Snow were threads afterall. He died peacefully due to his comatic dream. In his sleep, he lived out a fufilling life with Melonie. He was happy when he left. He made it to heaven and waited at the gates for Melonie but never knew if she arrived. He waited for sixty years before entering his final resting place. On full moons you can hear wolves howling... one seems strangely human.
Damon had gotten periodic calls from his uncle: Klaus Curic Victors. He was a man of evil intent who planned on creating a world wide virus for cure money. His plot was foiled when Yang stole and injested the virus. She died a hero and was given a medal which was delivered to Damon. Klaus was indicted as guilty and ended up in prison for life.
((I had so much fun with this roleplay. I wonder why it ended. I'm glad to be part of such a masterpiece. Lurelle, I suggest that you take the posts and turn this roleplay into a story. After everything, being gunned down, and nearly dying on a few occasions, it was over.
Vandara had disappeared, and the threat to Soul Threads was gone. Who knew what happened... Maybe there were more people out there like Aevis and Zeke, maybe not. But regardless, Andra and Lukas were finally able to reunite at the hospital, and after the group heard about what had happened to Vandara, after they had been so ready to run and leave everything behind, they were able to relax. Coincidentally, Lukas' eighteenth birthday was only a few days following, so they held a small party in the dorms for him, inviting everyone whom they had accompanied through the mission and the hospital excursions. It was a celebration of freedom, as cheesy as it sounded to Andra and Prince. But indeed, it was true. Lukas got a few gifts from his parents, but what really mattered to him was spending time with his friends.
Andra and Lukas both finished out the year, graduating with above average grades and several friendships that lasted throughout, and they were dating for the entire rest of the year, since they now had time to focus on dating. Sometime over Christmas, the two managed to meet each others' parents, who became very good friends themselves. Everything seemed good, and perhaps the relationship could have gone even further and lasted even longer, and both families decided to move away from San Francisco and into the suburbs of southern Ohio. It was quite a change, and it saddened both of the kids and their Threads to leave their old friends from the Academy, but it was time to leave that behind and make a new life for themselves.
Their relationship lasted until the August before their Freshmen years of college, when they realized they weren't for each other. The two remained excellent friends and kept in touch for the rest of their lives, however, and visited each other often over breaks and summers off from college.
Andra went to Ohio State, where she was a Music and Criminal Justice double major (an odd combination indeed). Her freshman year roommate, Mae, and she ended up becoming best friends; Her roommate didn't seem to mind Prince very much, and had a Soul Thread of her own. A regal orange tiger, named Nobility. He and Prince were almost as amused by the ridiculous similarities as the two roommates were themselves.
Lukas, on the other hand, attended a school in Michigan. Lake Superior State University. He was a Psychology and Sociology double major. His freshman year roommate and he didn't exactly get along at first, for the other boy had no Soul Thread, but in time the two were able to respect each other. And Huma was able to keep his growling to a minimum when the two got into an argument.
When it came to finding love for the two, Lukas found his wife when he was a Senior in college, and her name was Elizabeth. She had a Gazelle Soul Thread, and they ended up having three children. Only one of them, one of their two boys named Kerwin (after the feisty raccoon himself), had a Soul Thread; a German Shepherd. They, too, received the book written by Eve in the mail, and although it was written as fiction and there were some additions to make things more interesting to those who hadn't actually participated in the events themselves, he knew it was based exactly on those first couple of weeks at the STA. They never forgot about them. Lukas died at the age of 83, and his wife very soon after.
Andra met the one who would eventually be her husband in her Junior year at Ohio State. His name was Leon, and his Soul Thread was a golden eagle. The two were married the summer after their Senior years, living long and fully. The pair had two children: an athletic and fun-loving boy named David, followed by a girl named Michelle. Both had Threads, a skylark and a butterfly, respectively. It was quite a change from the larger Threads their parents had, but that didn't matter too much.
One day, Andra and Leon received a package in the mail. It was a book, entitled Knotted, written by Andra's old friend, Eve. She shared it with Leon and her children, who had learned about her endeavors at the STA, but were always slightly skeptical to their credibility. Now, there was proof, and the stories lived forever with all of them, despite the guise of fiction.
Andra died suddenly at age 65 in a car accident, and Leon eventually succumbed to old age when he was 80, delighting in the memories he had with Andra. Their Threads died with them, having lasted quite some time. Prince's fur had started to turn grey, and Leon's eagle had difficulty flying long distances, but in the end their lives had been lived fully.

[Michelle, age 34]
A bright eyed boy looked up at Michelle. and his Thread, a still fluffy chick of an owl, was cupped in his hands. He had just discovered the owl on the short walk he took from the bus stop to home, and picked it up because 'it told him it was lonely.'
Michelle was no fool, and with her butterfly Thread Ritz's discernment she found out that the owl was her oldest son, Lukas', Thread. He was about 7 now.
"What is it, mommy?" He asked, bright blue eyes unsure where to look; his new found, life long companion or his mother.
"It's called a Soul Thread, Lukas. You know Ritz, right?"
"Yeah?"
"She's a Thread, too. And remember the big lion, Prince, that grandma had?"
"Yeah! He was real big!" The child, still quite innocent at heart for a 7 year old, spread his arms out wide to show just how big.
Michelle laughed. "Well, he was also a Soul Thread. What do you want to name your owl, or does he tell you he already has a name?" She asked.
"His name is... I'll call him Rufflet." He grinned as the owl nodded then snuggled in his hands. He held it close to his chest and smiled.
"I like that name. It suits him. For the time being, at least," She said to herself. Then she picked up her son and set him on her lap. "Want to hear a story about Soul Threads?" She asked, reaching for a well worn book on a desk.
"Yeah! I have one now!" Lukas exclaimed.
"Well, this story happened a long time ago, when your Grandma was only 18! That was before I was born! But she attended a big school, where the kids lived there, away from home, and she and Prince got in to a couple really big adventures there..." She opened the book to the first chapter, able to summarize it into a 7 year old's desirable length. It became a bed time story over, and over, and over again, and when Lukas was old enough, he read the whole thing through, without need for a shorter summary. The story was continually passed down about Andra, Lukas, Greyson, Eve, Jamie, Damon, Aevis, Melonie, Scott, Cage and their Threads, at least in that family. It never seemed to grow old, despite the length of time that had passed since the event. Some good stories simply don't need to fit the times.
((PHEW. Long? Very. But I like it. I bid thee farewell, Soul Threads.))
