Jessica Peyton Moss

Name: Jessica Peyton Moss Don't get too familiar with that middle name

Nicknames: J, Jess, Jessie (She hates this one with a passion. She growls subconsciously at that) Hate being called Jessie. Feels like I'm someone's puppy

Age: 17

Birthday: November 14, 1992

Appearance: Diminutive and appearing as if she can pose no threat, Jess is slim and curvy and she knows that, dressing in such a way that highlights the curves of her body and makes her legs look longer despite her height. She has baby-soft fair skin that never tans, almond-shaped and expressive hazel-green eyes, arched eyebrows, high cheeks that dimples when she smiles, and full, supple pink lips. She has a square jaw, but that's what makes her unique and pretty and there is a beauty mark on her right cheek. Her long, silky-smooth hair falls around her luscious chocolate waves, bringing out the color in her skin. She has been known to cut some bangs into her hair, but as of lately, she has left it alone and let the bangs grow into subtle layers that frame her face. Jess has a small tattoo of a bird on her right pelvic bone.

Hair color:
Chocolate-brown

Eye color: Hazel-green, they turn emerald green once she's in wolf form

Height: 5'2 Yeah, I'm kinda short. Deal with it

Gender: Female Um, duh. Have you not seen my boobs?

Title: Healer Yes, surprising. I know

Pack: Shadow Moon

Personality
Image Not my sexiest look
Image

Due to a lack of authority in her life seeing how her mother died after childbirth and her father immersed himself in his work, Jess kinda grew up as her own parent and that's...definitely not the best idea. Jess was a fan of parties, getting drunk, and just having fun. She had no rules other than her own and that definitely made her seem like a carless, air-headed girl. But, now that she's with her pack, she's grown up a little and become wiser. People who don't know her assume that she is still that carefree wild child. However, those closest to her know that she's stronger, braver, and brilliant. She takes her job as a healer seriously and cares deeply for people, children especially. But her growth does not mean that she is to be easily stepped on. Jess is fierce and fiery in nature and will lash out if she feels threatened. She sticks up for members of her pack and her closest friends. She's a healer, yes. She's more in tune with herbs, yes. But she will kill if you mess with someone weaker or close. And if not physically, she is very in tune with herbs and will find a way to make you suffer.

Despite her background of being a party girl, Jess is surprisingly still a virgin and quite innocent in that department. So, she's still naĆÆve in that sense and has moments of complete vulnerability. She's not one for showing her weakness, but she can't help it at times. These are her most volatile times because the natural response to seeing one of the cheeriest people sad is to understand their pain. Jess refuses to let anyone that close. Perhaps her mate will be able to change her mind.

History

It was a sad day when Jess was born. Her mother was extremely ill and forcing herself to push, to bring this child into the world. Her father was throwing all types of tantrums at hospital workers because no one seemed to know what was wrong with his wife and he feared his child would be lost. It was raining outside, as if the heavens were feeling the woman's pain. A patient had died today. But somehow, little Jessica was born and for a second, everything seemed alright. Her mother gained enough strength to hold her child and name her, coddling a very happy Jess. Even the doctor commented that she was surprisingly happy and energetic, not at all upset when she was handed back and forth between her parents.

However, before the day passed, her mother passed away, taking a nap. That spelled out danger for Jess' rearing. The calm yet stern mother left behind a man that hadn't even wanted a child, but would do anything to please his wife. However, once he lost the love of his life, that desire to care for her went out the window. He left a maid to care for the babe and went off to do his work, and once Jessica came to the age where she knew her position over the maid, all hell broke loose. She refused to follow the rules, stayed out late at night, and partied hard. She disobeyed her caretaker when she was grounded and reminded the woman faithfully that Jess could "buy and sell her many times over." It was a horror raising the child until Jess began realizing that she wasn't normal.

Being a cheerleader, Jess had to lift up girls and be thrown into the air. On one such day, during a competition, their coach wanted a ripple effect in the stunts. Jess didn't realize at the time that she wasn't normal and put a lot of strength - which turned out not be all of her strength, surprisingly - and threw the girl too high, throwing the other girl off balance and for her to hit the ground before anyone could react. No one knew what happened, but Jess felt like it was her fault. For the first time, the other girl had felt extremely light and Jess had thought she was imagining things. All at once, things began hitting her; the day she healed when she scraped her knee, the ability to smell the boys' locker room from the cafeteria, the way she could clearly hear every heartbeat as she entered the room, etc.

Afterwards, she found the Shadow Moon pack. At first, everyone thought of her as some child and never paid her any attention. Slowly but surely, a part of the party girl died as Jess realized that she needed to grow up. No one would take her seriously if she didn't. She began memorizing all the herbs and formulas needed to heal people, she became in tune with different medical procedures, and before long, became a healer. It surprised even Jess when she became almost as smart as the pack doctor, but Jess knows she has a long journey ahead of her before she can hit that mark. Jess isn't sure how she is supposed to feel about this mate issue, but whatever happens, happens.

Jessica didn't even think twice about changing into regular clothes. The second she was ordered to change back into human form, she hurried to pull out the clothes she placed in her bag. She put on her undergarments quickly before sliding on the rest of her outfit. It consisted of a pair of low-rise black skinny jeans that revealed the tops of her tattoo, a long-sleeved dark red blouse with a deep V that revealed a tasteful amount of cleavage and showed the small expanse of skin between her tummy and the top of her jeans, and a pair of black combat boots. It was a reasonable attire and her shirt brought out the natural flush of her fair skin. She didn't even feel like bothering with her hair and just ran her fingers through the silky locks.

As she finished dressing, Jess glanced over at her Alpha before having to avert her eyes. His gaze had been smoldering and she could feel him drilling holes into the back of her head with those eyes. Her heart began racing as she blatantly chose to ignore him, distracting herself with staring at the members of different packs. A low, threatening snarl escaped her lips as she glanced at the Ocean Pack and Jess huffed, tossing her hair over her shoulder at them.

Mate, her wolf exclaimed and willed Jess to approach Renier. And good God, he did look amazing...she was pondering whether or not he should be wearing clothes in the first place. It wouldn't hurt anyone. But she refused.

No, he's not, she told her wolf forcefully, not truly believing herself. There was a stir inside of her that she had noticed on their journey here, but Jess had ignored her, wanting to simply get to their location and get this socializing thing over with. Besides, there was no way her Alpha was her mate. It was impossible.

So, Jess immersed herself completely in the crowd, being the natural-born social butterfly that she was. Ignoring the slight pain that filled her soul as she put distance between herself and Renier, even as she watched a few other girls make their way over to him...wait, what? A sudden flare of intense, unreasonable jealousy flooded Jessica's system and she had to fight the urge not to rip the hair from those whores' heads, not to tear their throats out.

Down girl, she told her wolf. He's not ours...at least, I don't think. She thought that last part quietly, hoping her wolf didn't hear her. But it did and the wolf did not let up.

Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Was the new chant and Jess seriously wished she had something to drown herself out.

Getting here was a problem for Sabrina Boyd, the air was damp and wet and she hated the smell of morning dew. Arriving was another issue, the constant flirting and affection of the most idiotic girls she'd ever seen made her want to ripe her hair out but of course her auburn hair was too precious. Sabrina growled with frustration she couldn't help but stare at them, mingling and attacking like they were lovestruck. Sabrina nibbled her lower lip in boredom, she didn't want to seem desperate but she could really use someone to talk to. It was awfully boring just standing their so Sabrina had decided to spark up a conversation with some people. It was odd for her, you know making friends trying to be nice. Maybe she had gone mad, trying to make friends in an evil world. She was even reluctant to come to this 'celebration' no man or wolf was capable of handling a fireball like her much less anyone her.

Sabrina shifted uncomfortable, she hated just standing there with nothing to do, she should be hunting game at the moment but noo her leader wants her to be all dressy for some stupid event that paired up the oddest couples in the world. Sabrina's growled, unlike most Lycans her and her inner wolf personalities had morphed into one. Maybe it was a reason she was so dangerous then again she was born a vindictive little bitch.

Anne woke up feeling strangely homesick, the sun was at its brightest, and nothing seemed better than to go out running in her wolf self to clear up her troubled mind. Anne could remember seeing her mother smiling at her, encouraging her to come over before dinner turned cold, of course that was when her mother was able to cook, and before she feel badly ill. ā€œStrangeā€ Anne said to herself, ā€œitā€™s been a while since I last daydreamed of my motherā€, she suddenly let out a smile realizing how fast time passes. It seemed as if it had only been a matter of days when she was playing hide-and-seek with her older brother, while her mother yelled, ā€œdinner is ready!ā€. Anne left out a small sight and after a lot of thought she also remembered it had been a while since she last felt like this, missing her family had not been in her mind, mostly because she had already found a new family she could lean on, her pack, the Shadow Moon Pack to be exact. She thought of her mother and what she would thing is she had seen her becoming the packā€™s doctor. ā€œshe would be proudā€ her inner wolf said, a small tear made Anne ayes blurry, ā€œandā€¦ā€ after a long pause the voice continued, ā€œshe wouldnā€™t want you to be said, plus she would encourage you to wear something pretty for todayā€ her inner voice added, and to this Anne laughed for a moment, her mother was indeed always worrying about formalities, and always trying to look her best for big events, after all she was always a beautiful lady, she didnā€™t have to try very hard to begin with.

Today was the day the pack would go to the meeting place to find their mates, to find their ā€œdestined matesā€ as some would say. Anne laughed once again, the idea of a predestined mate made her stomach sick, and almost seemed like a joke to her, she didnā€™t actually believe any of it, ā€œI would have to see it to believe itā€ she whispered to herself. Anne rushed back to her pack, she knew they would be waiting, it was not like they were late for the event but instead because her pack always wanted to be the first ones to arrive-always being competitive against other packs and all- besides they needed to move quickly because it wasnā€™t an easy travel, they needed to get early to get an advantage. Indeed, it was quite hard to get to the meeting place, ā€œwhat did you expect Anne?ā€ she asked herself, after all it was a royal ground, it isnā€™t like just anybody would be able to reach such fancy place. Since she was already in wolf form she didnā€™t have to change or anything, instead she remained as a wolf. Anneā€™s wolf was stunning, while changing her form to that of a wolf she remained some of her beautiful human features, such as her beautiful red hair, however, the color of her eyes changed from blue-green to an extremely light born, her height was that of 5ā€™8ā€ she wasnā€™t particularly the biggest wolf around.

The pack moved quickly only resting when told to, and before finally arriving at the meeting place, they had to change quickly, Anne rapidly changed to her human form; she didnā€™t mind being seen naked specially in front of her pack, but she felt uncomfortable specially now that they were supposed to find mates, she changed rapidly to something she was used to, she first changed her undergarments, then put on a black tank top with a pair of black jeans that shaped her figure perfectly, ā€œperfectā€ she said to herself, ā€œyour mother would disagreeā€ said her inner wolf, and Anne laughed once again, and once again she was absorbed in her thoughts.

They finally reached the castle and Anne was at awe, she wasnā€™t used to seeing such fancy places. After a pretty blonde boy with a boyish face asked the leader the name of the pack, they were able to enter the castle. Everyone waited for the rest of the packs to arrive, and the Ocean Moon were the last ones to arrive, ā€œas expectedā€ Anne said as she smiled in contempt, and she let out a mocking grin that she couldnā€™t hide. After that one of the royals gave a speech, and everything afterwards was simply annoying to Anne, all of the girls being over the royals was something Anne could simply not understand, Anne would rather stay home reading a book, but they had to attend the meeting, ā€œUgh!ā€. Anne decided it was best to be friendly and try to meet other wolves, but before anything she turned to Sabrina who looked just as annoyed as her, ā€œguess we have to be friendly, and meet a dreamy wolf huh?ā€ she said sarcastically.

As the banquet began, Jessica snuck off to change into another outfit, which was really tiresome. Although Jess loved and fashion and would normally squeal at the chance to dress up, she wasn't in the best of moods at the moment. She hadn't seen Renier since the arrived and was worried sick with jealousy at the thought of some floozy all over him. A low growl slipped past her lips at the thought and Jessica shook her head, concentrating on getting dressed.

Once she was done, she glanced at the nearest to admire herself. She wore an eye-catching cocktail dress of sapphire blue color. The glaring straps with beaded adornment linked the fitted bodice with crisscross pleats showing off her slim figure. The crisscross bare back and cut-out around the waist offered an alluring view. The skirt fel down with slight pleats to graze just at the lower part of her thighs, revealing a sexy amount of legs without showing too much. For the sake of not doing too much, Jess wore simple heels that brought out the dress and her hair was simply brushed out in its natural curls. She looked good - too good, if she was being her cocky self - and no, it wasn't for anyone in particular. Not like he'd notice, she thought glumly before exiting the room to enter the banquet.

Once there, Jessica did what she needed and mingled more, smiling at people charmingly. She made sure to avoid the Ocean Moon pack and grabbed the nearest glass of champagne. As the bubbly liquid greeted her tongue, Jessica's eyes fell on Anne talking to some strange man. She watched Anne's eyes water and immediately, the protective pack member inside of her arose. She moved through the throng of wolves, catching the faintest hint of...what was that? Vampires? Were there vampires here? Shaking her head at that absurdity, Jessica approached Anne with concern, eyeing the strange man near her pack member.

"Anne, are you alright?"

Luke couldnā€™t speak, instead he took a deep breath that seemed to never end. After he looked at his sister carefully trying to remember her in detail, he smelled a strange scent, ā€œvampiresā€¦ā€ followed by his own immediate response ā€œit canā€™t be!. Anne had smelled the same scent and wondered exactly what was going on. Even if it was the case, Luke had to stay with his sister, in case something happened he had to protect her.

Anne couldnā€™t wait any longer and asked her brother ā€œHow could you leave me Luke?! Every day I waited and waited for you to come backā€ Anne spoke rapidly as tears streamed down her face, she felt heavy and had a hard time breathing normally.

Luke was speechless he had practiced this scenario so many times in his head yet the words couldnā€™t come out of his red lips, he barely muttered a few undecipherable blabber because he also started sobbing, ā€œI wish I knew what to say, I am so sorry Annieā€¦ for everythingā€.

He came closer to Anne and hugged her affectionately, she resister for a moment, and hit Lukeā€™s chest for a moment while he kept hugging her. ā€œWhy didnā€™t you come back for me?ā€ she yelled in her troubled mind, as Luke kept on comforting her, she then hugged him back wishing she could know his reasons. She was about to ask him when she answered her own question ā€œI know whyā€ she thought to herself for a moment, beck then she didnā€™t know, but she knew he has experienced his first full moon as a wolf, he wanted to be a free wolf. She understood because she had felt the same way, when she had also shifted for the first time, she was frightened and terrified, it was extremely painful, but becoming a wolf, gave her a feeling that she had long gone thought she had forgotten, the feeling of finally belonging, the feeling of belonging to something greater than anything else she had ever thought mattered. Despite her understanding, Anne felt betrayed, hurt and abandoned,ā€œThatā€™s not enough, I can't forgive you yetā€.

After a long silence Anne carefully retrieved herself from her brotherā€™s arms, and she took a few steps back taking her distance from her own brother. She couldnā€™t trust him; Luke knew exactly that and knew he needed to gain his sisterā€™s trust.

Anne could not help herself as she once again began tearing down, she was about to walk away when she heard someone approaching,

ā€œAnne, are you alright?ā€

Anne turned around to see Jessica, the healer of her pack. Anne nodded as she began whipping her tears, she wanted to be seen strong and reliable rather than fragile and emotional.
Anne appreciated Jessicaā€™s concern, but didnā€™t want to worry her, she then replied, ā€œIā€™m fineā€ with a firm and steady tone of voice.

Luke immediately wiped his tears and composed himself, he then starred at the girl that suddenly approached him an Anne, he didnā€™t want to create any more problems for Anne, he turned around to gaze the girl and told her with his flirtatious tone of voice ā€œdonā€™t worry beautiful, I was just about to leaveā€. He approached Anne and whispered to her ear, ā€œIā€™ll see you again soon sister" Luke walked away in a steady pace, yet he had not regained his overconfidence, instead he was wishing he could find the right words for his next encounter with his sister.

Jessica raised a threatening, weary eyebrow at the male talking to Anne, the wolf in her growling at the fact that Anne was trying her hardest to wipe her tears away and pretend like she hadn't been crying. Anne was a strong woman, that much Jess knew, which made her admire the girl. She never tried to let anyone see her emotional side. But Jessica saw through that and was not trusting the guy. Sure, his scent kinda reminded her of Anne's and that might mean something, but at the moment, Jess did not care. Her pack member was upset and Jess was not okay with that. He seemed to compose himself before he glanced at Jessica with a look that was supposed to be flirtatious.

She wasn't affected.

"Don't worry beautiful, I was just about to leave." Just as he leaned into Anne to whisper to her, as Jessica assumed, she folded her arms over her chest and glared at the side of his face.

"Good," she growled and heard him whisper to Anne that he'd see her again soon. Jessica rolled her eyes and gave him a frosty smile when he walked away. As soon as he was gone, Jessica's gaze moved to Anne and concern returned to her eyes, the orbs turning green with worry. She placed her hand on the pack doctor's shoulder and squeezed gently. "Hey, honey. Are you alright? Do I need to go claw some sense in that guy?" She felt like an over-protective mother asking crazy questions, but Jess couldn't help it. This was her pack and she'd be damned if anyone hurt a single member.

ā€œIā€™ll see you soon sisterā€, Anne felt strange and nervous at the thought of seeing her brother again. Anne limited herself to simply fold her arms in discomfort, she wasnā€™t going to forgive him as easily, and he knew that.
Jessica growled at Luke as he left, and then turned her gaze at Anne who was now filled with worried thoughts, she then remembered Jessica was standing beside her, Anne felt Jessicaā€™s soft touch at her shoulder, a simple gesture that reassured her,

ā€œHey, honey. Are you alright? Do I need to go claw some sense in that guy?ā€

Anne chuckled at this and simply shook her head in amusement, ā€œItā€™s all good Jess, thank you. I think the hormones at this place are getting to me now, but if I need help to beat up my older brother I know who to callā€ Anne laughed and simply smiled at Jessica thanking her for having her back, she knew Jessica was a bright young girl, if she had to ever pick on someone to take after her being the pack doctor it would definitely be her. She then stroke Jessicaā€™s hair in affection, she felt appreciated and at the same time surprised at herself knowing she had told someone she had a brother.

Anne was happy to learn that her pack had her back; she was pleased and thought to herself, ā€œthis is my pack, this is my family nowā€.

ā€œItā€™s all good Jess, thank you. I think the hormones at this place are getting to me now, but if I need help to beat up my older brother I know who to callā€

Jessica laughed with Anne, grinning that the older girl was finally smiling. She'd have been upset if Anne remained sad and would have had to have some words with who Anne called her brother. That piece of evidence, by the way, was surprising. As long as she'd been in Shadow Moon, Anne had never said anything about having a brother to anyone. Sure, she and Jess hadn't talked that much before, but still. It was surprising information and it flattered Jessica that she would be that honest. Anne began stroking Jessica's hair and Jess' smile widened. As an only child, Jessica had longed for an older sibling and having somone pet her like one brought back that longing. Shaking her head, Jessica spotted a servant bringing around another tray of champagne. She finished the rest of hers in one gulp and grabbed two glasses, handing one to Anne.

"I think the hormones are getting to everyone," she replied dryly and toasted Anne. Jessica glanced around the room, hoping to catch at least a glimpse of Renier. Sadly, she didn't see him and her smile wavered for a second before she shook it off. Again, whatever she had felt before was nothing more than residual feelings from a crush she harbored for him at one point. It would pass and her infatuation would turn to her rightful mate. She turned her eyes back to Anne, praying like hell that any traces of longing would be gone from her face. "How has your search for your mate gone?

Anne was happy that Jessica was there to brighten up her mood, she was curious to ask Jess if she had found her mate, but didn't ask in embarrassment, she didn't want to be nosy, after all Anne hated being meddlesome. After stroking Jessica's hair, Jessica smiled which made her happy, "such a pretty girl, I'm sure she already has a mate" was the first thing that came to Anne's mind.

Jessica grabbed a glass of champagne and drank it in a flash, "she sure knows how to drink", Anne thought and smiled again. Jess offered one to Anne and she accepted it happily, "I could surely use a drink right now" she thought to herself. She drank it slowly, wishing that each time she drank from the glass would make her feel better and better.

mate after saying the word, her thoughts returned to the Play boy that she had seen before, the handsome boy with the beautiful blonde hair, that strong male that screamed to be an Alpha because of his strong appearance, she sigh for a moment as she remembered being all over protective of a group of females. "yup a totally playboy" she repeated in her mind.Jessica spoke again,

"I think the hormones are getting to everyone" Anne laughed and nodded on agreement, Anne noticed Jessica getting distracted for a moment searching in the crowd for someone, she wondered who it was that made the little girl lose her smile in a second and felt deeply concerned, she knew something was wrong. She wanted to ask her, but Jessica spoke before her,

"How has your search for your mate gone?"

Anne shook her head before she could explain herself, "let's just say I am not the luckiest female in this fancy castle" she raised her glass to simulate a toast now as she asked "what about you, have you meet a dreamy wolf?".

"what about you, have you meet a dreamy wolf?"

Jessica tensed the minute the question escaped Anne's lips. She chuckled dryly and took a drink of her champagne, avoiding Anne's gaze. How do you tell your pack mate that your soul mate might just be the alpha of your pack? Not like it was wrong or anything, but Jess had her doubts. Why would anyone pair her with an Alpha? And more importantly, why would they pair her with anyone? She wasn't...good enough to be anyone's mate. She might as well simply remain a healer.

It was pathetic, yes, for her to have such an inferiority complex. But it was there and it haunted Jessica like crazy. Like, seriously! Who was she to even have a mate? She led a horrible life before she met her pack. Sure, she hadn't been some whore like most of the girls she knew. But, Jessica had never been a deserving person. And Renier of all people!? Surely, she would never deserve him.

"...long story," Jess decided after hesitation. She finally glanced at Anne's face, biting her lower lip at the piercing stare. "Probably wrong about...my assumptions." Jessica shrugged. "Perhaps I don't even have one." She put on a big, bright smile and toasted Anne again. "To being single." Jessica drank her champagne quickly, downing the drink. It wasn't good enough; she'd need something stronger if she wanted to not think about Renier.

As soon as Anne asked Jessica if she had found her mate she tense and became awkward, she regretted asking now that she saw how uncomfortable Jessica felt. She was sorry for making her feel bad and wanted to make things less awkward as she smiled at Jessica trying to tell her it was OK not to say who it was. Anne was not stupid and knew that it must be someone Anne knew, meaning someone within their own pack, that or the horrible alternative, ā€œno! it canā€™t beā€¦ not someone from the Ocean Moon Pack!ā€ Anne became worried now each second that Jess remained silent.
Jessica slowly swallowed from her champagne which seemed weir seeing how she had quickly drank the previous one. Anne waited for Jessica to break the silent and she did,

ā€œā€¦long storyā€ she said as she took her time to continue, Anne stared at her attentively and affectionately, smiling warmly, she wanted Jess to feel comfortable, but instead Jess bit her lip as she spoke again hesitantly, ā€œprobably wrong aboutā€¦ my assumptionsā€ as she shrugged, Anne knew the feeling, she felt the same way about the blonde boy. ā€œhe canā€™t be my mate, I donā€™t want to be another one of his girls. Heā€™ll just break my heart and betray meā€. Jess spoke again, ā€œperhaps I donā€™t even have oneā€. Anne shook her head in disbelief; she was a beautiful and smart young girl, it would be impossible for her not to have a mate, instead she simply replied, "perhaps we both don't have one".

Jessica once again smiled brightly as she made a toast, ā€œto being singleā€. Anne smiled back at Jessica as she replied, ā€œand to that I say cheers!ā€ Anne winked at Jessica, as she told her, ā€œI say we need something stronger than a champagne, although between you and me I am not a good drinkerā€. Anne smiled embarrassed at herself, she was much older than Jessica and knew that the little girl besides her knew how to handle her drinks way better than she could ever do. Yet tonight Anne wanted to forget about everything, even if it meant to get completely drunk.

Anne then remembered her position as the pack's doctor, she turned her gaze at the floor as she became embarrassed as she looked totally unprofessional but there was no turning back, Jessica was now her friend, more like her little sister, and Anne felt she could trust her.

Without even needing to be told, Jessica led Anne over to the bar and ordered them two shots each. She was comfortable with Anne and loved the friendship. It distracted her from thoughts of Renier. Besides, it also distraced her from that feeling like something bad was happening at the moment. The bartender handed them each a slice of lemon and Jessica grinned.

"I can tell, this isn't something you normally do," Jessica told Anne. "But don't worry, doc. Your secret's safe with me." Jessica winked playfully before squeezing the sour juice into mouth and hurried to swallow down the burning taste of whiskey. Her pretty little face scrunched up for a second before all seriousness flashed on her features.

Jessica glanced around her, becoming more aware of her surroundings and the smells. People were socializing and snacking on small appetizers while they waited for the main meal. But that wasn't what Jessica was focused on. Something was amiss, something felt wrong. The vampire stench she had caught onto earlier was still there and Jessica frowned, licking her lower lip. The hairs at the back of her neck rose and her senses were definitely on point.

"Something's wrong," Jess whispered to Anne. "I just don't know what it is."

Bryarly snarled and lept back up when the vampire threw her. She could taste blood and felt a throbbing pain in her paw, but ignored it and showed no sign of this weakness as she got into a defensive position. "You're a brave little bitch, aren't you?' The vampire smiled, and Bry snorted lightly as though she was chuckling. You have no idea. She thought to herself as the dark-haired, pale creature lept at her. Having speed on her side, she dodged her advance and caused her to stumble slightly. Her rounded ears swiveled and a low growl escaped her as some other vampires came to her aid. "Get off! and do what we are here to do, kill the King Alpha!!"

When she heard this, Bry's bright blue eyes widened. Throwing her head back quickly, she let out a very distinctive yet urgent howl, calling all the wolves reluctantly. She really, really didn't want anyone else to come and get hurt. Especially not Tyler. "Now, back to you puffball. Let's finish this quickly shall we? Those morons wont even get close to the King let alone kill him without my help." Bryarly snarled and circled around the vampire once, so she was obscuring her view of the alpha and her packmate. She searched for any weakness in her stance- but she seemed like a very strong vampire. Who knows how old she was.
Growling, when she thought she saw an opening she launched herself at the women's neck. She felt her claws rip into her strong flesh, although her paws screamed in protest. She knew almost for certain that her right front paw was broken, but it could be worse. She vampire quickly threw her off and into ground- hard. Hard enough that she shook as she tried to get back onto her feet. She knew that she had wounded the vampire- but she didn't know how bad. She easily could be fine and kill her before the other wolves got here. She let out another howl, this time laced with agony and faded off at the end as her vision blurred.

Anne walked with Jessica to the bar and she felt uneasy, she had a bad feeling, she had smelled something strange before, ā€œthe smell of deathā€ echoed in her mind. Anne was the packā€™s doctor, which meant death was not something was unfamiliar with; she had seen some of her patients draw their last breath as they died under her care. Even so, this smell was something different, she knew exactly what it was but she didnā€™t want to believe in it. Anne then became impatient but at the same time she wanted to drink away her sorrows with Jessica.

Anne wanted to hide her uneasiness from Jessica, apart from the smells this was definitely not her, ā€œthis is my brotherā€ she thought to herself, but after the bartender handed them a slice of lemon Jessica said: ā€œI can tell, this isnā€™t something you normally doā€ Anne chuckled once again, ā€œwas I that obvious?ā€ she whispered, and Jessica continued, ā€œbut donā€™t worry, doc. Your secret is safe with meā€. Anne smiled at Jessica in gratitude. After Jessica drank her whiskey, Anne too squeezed the life out of the slice of lemon, as she quickly swallowed the whiskey. She then turned her eyes away from Jessica as same scent she had smelled before came rushing through making Anne even more uneasy and serious.

She turned to look at Jessica and noticed she felt the same way, Jessica came closer to Anne as she whispered, ā€œSomethingā€™s wrong, I just donā€™t know what it isā€. Anne stood quiet and hesitated before she could respond to Jess. Her lips moved slowly almost as if she wanted to imprison the words so that they wouldnā€™t come out; so that they werenā€™t true. ā€œVampiresā€¦ā€ she finally said as she quickly stood up in a sudden movement.

Anne immediately became serious and alert as worry overcame her, the stench of the bloodsuckers was not the only smell she sensed; she could also smell the scent of blood. ā€œI guess we should postpone our girlā€™s night out for the momentā€ Anne said as she put her glass down followed by a deep breath. She inhaled once again trying to figure out where the scents came from. The scent of blood had intensified, a hard cold shiver overcame Anne, she turned cold as she imagined someone from her pack getting hurt, and her mind went back to the golden haired boy she wished she could get her mind off and she became afraid, afraid that something could have happened to him. She didnā€™t want to alarm Jessica more than needed but she knew they had to leave, ā€œSomeone is hurt Jess, we need to hurryā€.

As soon as Anne uttered the disgusting word that was vampire, Jessica's hazel eyes darkened to a deep green and she felt her wolf get extremely offensive. It was surprising because Jessica knew that despite all of her fiestiness and fire, she was only a decent fighter and would only be able to defend someone, never go into battle. But at that point, the fear of anyone getting hurt - of Renier possibly getting hurt - overpowered any sense of weakness and replaced it with a fierce desire to get those leeches out of here.

Just as she was about to make a comment, however, the tang of blood filled the air and Jessica shuddered. That meant someone was hurt and her protectiveness arose. She glanced around her to see if any of her other pack members were alright before trying to see if the number of people in the room had decreased. Jessica noted a few had disappeared.

ā€œSomeone is hurt Jess, we need to hurryā€.Anne told her and Jessica nodded, not needing to be told twice. She set her glass down and hurried out of the banquet hall with Anne in tow. Luckily for Jessica, she was used to the feel of running in heels because that was exactly what she was doing. She followed the stench of blood and bloodsuckers only to find the Alpha King and his pack along with a few members from the Ocean Moon pack. Under normal circumstances, Jessica would've snarled at them and flipped her hair in agitation. Now was not the time. Heal first. Animosity later.

"I'm a Healer and Anne's a doctor," Jessica announced and hurried over to the crowd. She glanced between Adrian and Bryarly in concern, eyeing both of their injuries critically. The first blonde was in pain, that much Jessica could gather. But her injuries weren't nearly as disconcerting as the one with pale blonde hair. She knelt down between both girls, cringing at the sight of Bryarly's paw. It was bleeding pretty badly and Jessica could definitely see it was bent just a tad bit. She glanced at Anne. "Her paw's broken and I think the other is suffering from something internal. There aren't a lot of injuries on her on the outside."

Jason had been tracking the females of his pack like a predator tracks prey, much to their annoyance. He knew his mannerisms could prevent them from reaching out to their potential mates but that was fine with him. They were is girls and that was that. Little did he know that later on all hell was about to break loose.

He was getting ready for the evening banquet and was half into his tux when chaos broke loose, being tense and alert anyway allowed him to pick up on the danger surprisingly quick. Without a second thought he bolted out of the room he was standing in and sprinted to the unfolding scene. Vampires were attacking and their stone cold hearts were set on the king. With so many Lucas on the scene it was suicide and the vampires seemed to work it out shortly after making themselves known. By the time Jason reached the madness the vampires were gone and several wolves were injured. He bent down next to Adrian as many others did.

With the danger over however his heart beat raced as his eyes darted around for his pack, what if some of them were outside where the vampires fled, or perhaps they were around here and hurt somewhere. "Alpha?! Luke? Hanley?" He called out into the crowd from his knelt position. It was mayhem, everyone was stressed and unsettled. Shifted and not shifted.

"Alph-" Jason's voice disappeared as soon as his eyes found someone. A fragile, pale face appeared through the crowd rushing towards the scene. She was cutting through the crowd in an angelic evening dress, her face creased with concern and worry. He watched her rich, red curls bounce with every hasty step she took, but everything seemed to be moving in slow motion, like a terrible scene from a movie except there was nothing terrible about watching her. She seemed unreal to him. She came to kneel down right in front of him over Adrian's body her green eyes precise and piercing. She was beautiful. He felt a strange feeling he didn't like overwhelm him, like a unused part of his brain was suddenly being put to work. It made him feel dizzy and weird.

In reality it left him kneel over the kings mate, staring directly at the red head like a concussed fool. His white shirt hung half open, and a black dickie tie hung loose around his neck.

Adrian shifted so she was leaning more on Lucas, his body heat comforted her and she knew she would heal faster as long as he was beside her. There was so much commotion that it gave Adrian a headache so instead of focusing on the outside she tuned her hearing to listening to her bones cracking and reforging as they healed. She took a deep breath in a cringed in pain as her ribs poked her lungs, she exhaled quickly to stop the pain. Out of all the events happening in front of her Adrian heard a small whimper echo in her ears. She looked around to see no one less had noticed as another small whimper followed.

'the pups!' her wolf barked, worried and Adrian's eyes widened in fear. She shot up off of her mate and started to run to the room all the pups were. When she arrived as yelped when she saw the dead body of one of her packs nurtures. She crashed into the room and her eyes instantly landed on the male vampire. He had a shadow moon pup and a royal moon pup thrown over his shoulder and he was grabbing another one when she came barging in. He hissed at her and rushed towards the open window but Adrian threw herself in front of it and snarled at him. Her broken bones protested but she didnt care, they were trying to harm the pups and that is just to low on the humanity scale.

The vampire roughly dropped the pups on the hard marble floor and Adrian snarled as they whimpered in pain. He would pay for making these pups scared and hurt. She lunged at the vampire as a crack sounded in the room, one of her half healed ribs breaking again. Adrian fell to the side and the vampire lunged, tackling her. Even though she was bigger and strong then him, in her hurt state he easily pinned her down. Adrian heard some of her pack's male pups snarl and Adrian looked up to see around vampire had joined them.

'dammit' she mentally cursed and latched her jaw's onto the vampire above her shoulder. He screamed in pain as she kicked out his knee's making him fall on top of her and she shot up, ignoring her pain. His shoulder was still in her bone crashing jaws as she shot off and grabbed the other vampire by the leg and jerked him, making him fall to the ground. The second vampire struck at him, digging his claw like finger nail's into the flesh of her front leg. With a tug he broke it but Adrian didnt care as she threw them out the window. She whimpered in pain them collapsed, all the pups instantly coming to her side. They all shifted into their baby pups and nuzzled her sides trying to comforted her and themselves.

'Bryarly baby are you ok?' Tyler whimpered as he nuzzled her face. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Adrian's look of concern then her shooting off to who knows where. Tyler turned to his best friend to see a look of worry plastered on Lucas's face.
'dont worry dude i'm sure she's.......' Tyler was cut off as a eardrum scattering scream echoed threw the halls from the pups play room.
'Oh shit' Tyler cursed as he was about to dash off to the pups room but stopped. He couldnt leave his mate when she was so hurt.
'Royal moon pack follow your alpha to the pups room' Tyler ordered in his Beta tone.

Lucas rushed into the pup room, not bothering to change back to his human form. "Adrian, are okay?!" he rushed to her side the pups moved away as the nurtures came to take care of them. 'Damn vampires!' he thought rage sparked inside his chest. Lucas transformed and looked at his pack, "Smell around and then track whoever did this down! I want you to bring them back so that all here will get to share in their punishment!" he growled. The trackers set to work, healers were already working on Adrian who had transformed back into a human. Lucas walked over the healers moving respectfully away, he bent down and scooped her up in his arms, she looked so tiny and helpless, his anger flared even more. Looking back up he addressed all in the room, "Tomorrow morning I want to have a meeting with all the Alpha's so that we can discuss what actions should be taken." he turned and walked out of the room. Lucas carried Adrian up to his room and laid her delicately on the bed, brushing the hair from her face kissing her forehead. He went into his closet and got changed into some loose jeans and black tank top, then returned to Adrian's side. "Today could have gone better, couldn't it?" he asked running his hand through her blonde hair, he laid beside her on the bed. He knew a healer would be here shortly to double check on Adrian, and Lucas knew he should check on everything but his body wouldn't leave his mate in this condition.

Bryarly's ears flattened against her head when a member of the Shadow Moon pack, a healer she assumed, came towards her. "I'm a healed and Anne's a doctor," The girl announced, and quickly looked over her and Adrian. Bryarly, who had been laying there like a wounded pup quickly and very shakily stood on three legs, sending pain shooting through her body. Although pain flicked through her eyes, she held her head high.
When the other female came closer to her, she growled stubbornly and jerked away, causing her to stumble and fall onto her side with a soft whimper.

Growling lowly, she finally consented and allowed the female to look over her wounds. Her right paw was bleeding and badly broken, and she had a rather large wound of her right shoulder. When Tyler nuzzled her face softly, her expression became much more gentle. "I'm fine." She answered softly, not wanting him to worry about her.
When she saw Adrian run out and soon heard a scream, she lept up and ran on three legs towards the sound. She felt a tearing in her shoulder and her body screamed in pain, causing her vision to become blurry. She got to the room after Lucas, and had to lean on the wall completely jus to stay up. She had caused the bleeding to become worse, and was unable to suppress her whimpers. Still, she stubbornly surveyed the room, and wouldn't allow her eyes to close until her packmate was safety carried from the room.

Anne was frightened, but she didnā€™t show it, she had to be strong; she knew she wouldnā€™t be able to stand against a lot of vampires, she was only a decent fighter enough to defend herself and others, but she was no fighter; she was a doctor, she didnā€™t murdered others lives, she saved them. Anne didnā€™t mind at the moment though; as worry overcame her she didnā€™t appear to be thinking straight.

After Anne told Jessica that someone was hurt and that they needed to leave, Jessica nodded her head in agreement and she became worried as well. Anne and Jessica hurried after the trail of blood, it seemed as if Jessica had smelled the scent too as she followed Anne without second thoughts. Anne ran as fast as she could, and Jessica was right beside her, as soon as the stench intensified she noticed a shocking image. The alpha king along with members of the Ocean Moon pack. Adrian and Bryarly were both injured, Anne chuckled at the thought of helping the Ocean Moon pack but a life was a life, even if their packs had been enemies for long.

Anne was about to speak when Jessica informed the girls that looked just as uncomfortable as her and Jess, ā€œIā€™m a healer and Anneā€™s a doctorā€. Without second thought and without waiting for their reply Anne and Jessica came closer to the two injured blondes, Anne studied the situation for a while, and before diagnosing the two patients she glanced to see if there were any vampires, ā€œI canā€™t afford to have any more injured people around hereā€ she thought, but instead of facing a deadly vampire she noticed someone who made her lose her concentration in a blink, the same blonde male that had made her become into a mess earlier. She looked away before he could even give her a quick glance and before both of their eyes could meet. She knew that a simple glance of him would be enough for Anne to lose her fragile concentration.

Without a second thought Anne said to herself to focus, she looked at both of the girls and understood who needed more medical help, she and Anne approached the girl with the broken paw, and Jessica spoke again,
"Her paw's broken and I think the other is suffering from something internal. There aren't a lot of injuries on her on the outside." Anne nodded proudly as she learned once again how capable Jessica was, she let Jessica tend to the girl with the broken paw as she approached the other blonde girl that looked in an agonizing pain. But as soon as she moved closer the king alpha became protective of her hugging her and supporting her, ā€œher mateā€. Anne knew the girl would regenerate by herself, but she also knew in what pain she was.
