You see, the stars are not what we think they are. They are not made of gas or rock, and they are not created through pressure in space. The stars are created from spells - magical spells - cast each night to provide comfort and curiosity to those who observe. XX
Who casts the spells, you ask? Let me tell you of the people called the Guardians. They are much like humans, in body and mind, however they are immortal and much more powerful. The males are referred to as Gods, while the females are Goddesses, and in their home they are equal. There is no disorder on their planet, only peace and positivity. Their planet is what we call Heaven. XXXX
The Guardians are magical beings, wizards and warlocks, and are the keepers of peace on all the planets of the Cosmos. They give us the stars at night, and watch over us by day, doing their best to keep the corrupted ways of our world from taking over. The Guardians protect us, even from ourselves, and keep the peace. XX
However, as the people on Earth became consumed with hatred and contempt, the job of the Guardians got harder. And it never stopped getting harder, as the humans continued to destroy their planet and each other. Eventually, the Guardians realized that there was no hope for the Earth. Humankind was too stubborn, and was unable to find peace, leading to war and ultimate ruin. XX
In the year 2020, mankind hit rock bottom as the Great War of 2000 came to a gruesome end. Nuclear technology had become far more advanced, and it took only three atomic bombs to destroy nearly all of the world's population. The ocean became riddled with pollution and billions of sea animals were killed, as well as many land creatures due to a lack of clean water and air. XX
The few who survived the Great War were determined not to let something so disastrous happen again. The Earth now had little resources, as most everything had been blown up and broken by the atomic bombs. Clean water was difficult to find, unpolluted food even harder, and many people became ill from toxins in the air. But there were survivors, and they were determined to live. XX
The Guardians, being the helpful race they were, decided to give Earth a second chance. They sent down three of their own to become a part of the human race, mortals, so that they could use their magic to help the now-dying planet. The three mages were given the right to use whatever magic they wished, as the other Guardians were curious to see how their fellow mages would act. XX
Our story begins in the beaten down and broken city of Tokyo, Japan, where one of these mages has been sent. The city is in shambles, with many of the buildings having fallen as the result of several earthquakes. However, there are still quite a few buildings left standing, and the city's survivors are making the best of it. The mage is quickly taken in by a group of the area's refugees. XXXX
But, as they struggle to explain themself to their new 'family', the mage becomes drawn toward a certain individual who lives nearby, always alone and wearing a contented expression. Every day the mage's curiosity grows, until finally they approach the young loner, and form a bond that no one had ever anticipated. XX
