Positive Personality Traits:
Responsible, Humble, Maternal, Organized

Negative Personality Traits:
Secretive, Bottles things up, Anxious, Critical

Personality:
Kendall is well aware of the bad reputation that her family gets. She understands some of it. Their reality television show has been a major success not only because her family is funny and likable (to some people, at least), but also because they represent something that most people wish they had. They're known for their money, and as people like to put it, "being famous for doing nothing". That's something that they would all dispute, but it's not an assertion that really bothers Kendall anymore. She understands why some people view her family as being overly hyped up, and out of touch with reality, and cry babies for thinking that their petty problems are real problems, when they're clearly living amazing lives. She wished that people understood that while yes, their reality show depicted their real lives, things always had to be bigger and more emotional for the cameras. Otherwise, no one would want to watch. She still stands by her claim that their show isn't scripted like so many others on the air, but what she wished that people knew, was that just people you watched their show doesn't mean you know them.

The Kendall that only those who truly know her will see, is one who is down to earth, grounded, and responsible. Arguably, she's the one in her family who has always been the most realistic and focused, and the one who never let fame blow up her ego to astronomical proportions. She's definitely a "good girl" to a degree, something that her siblings always find a way to tease her about, but it's a persona she's been forced to take up, really, because growing up, it felt like no one else was going to take that role. Her mothers and sisters all seemed so consumed by the idea of fame that everyone was willing to do whatever it took to bump their shows ratings up. Morals were tossed out the window in favor of scandals and lies that didn't represent the family that she knew in private, and while they all seemed okay with doing that, it never sat as well with her. In fact, it actually caused her to struggle with anxiety from an early age, because she was constantly conflicted with doing what she knew was right, and doing what her family and the people she trusted said was right. She likes doing things by the books, coloring within the lines, and tries to keep her personal life as clean, private and mess-free as possible.

She's not entirely boring, and you'll see even just by watching their reality television show that she has her dramatic and woe-is-me moments, but overall, it's safe to say that especially compared to her siblings, Kendall is the most responsible and "normal" one. While her controversies are nothing compared to her sisters, when she's away from her family, she can get into some trouble on her own, though. She prefers to let loose with her friends who aren't related to her family, however, like those who she's grown close to through modeling. For the most part, these friends know an entirely different version of Kendall - one who's down to go clubbing, or try party drugs, or just generally make more reckless decisions than she's known for. While one would assume that behavior like that would worry one's family, Kendall's convinced that these outbursts actually appease her mother and sisters, satisfying them that she's giving the tabloids something to write about to help keep their family name relevant. She's never doing it for that reason, but it's definitely somehow a perk of it.

Likes:
Vanilla scented things, horseback riding, traveling, dogs, her family, lazy days at home, Christmas time, high fashion, modelling

Dislikes:
Drama, tabloids, lies, fake friends, fame (a lot of the time), orange juice with pulp, pork, greasy food

History:
Kendall was born in Los Angeles, California, to Bruce Jenner, a retired Olympic decathlete champion, and Kristen Jenner, who at that time, was primarily known as being infamous lawyer, Robert Kardashian's ex-wife at the time. She was Kris and Bruce's first child together, though her mother had four children already from her marriage with Robert, and Bruce had four children on his own too, from a prior marriage. Two years after she was born, her parents had another child, Kylie. Though the Jenners lived a wealthy and well-to-do life, they were able to live mostly under the radar for the beginning of Kendall's childhood. Life was fairly normal up until them, with Kendall having friends who were similarly well-off, and sometimes famous, but being pretty normal on her own aside from that. She loved gymnastics, horseback riding, family vacations, and going on adventures with her older sisters.

She was ten years old when her family's reality show went into the works, and eleven when it was actually filmed and released, and from then on, her life was drastically different. It was like she was forced to grow up in the blink of an eye, and right in front of the entire world. She can still tell you how different her life was, even just at school, after the show started. A few weeks after it aired, a boy in her class brought up her sister's sex tape (that she only ended up learning existed from that very conversation). Her mother increasingly focused her attention on her three older sisters, and it was like the cameras were always around. While her family seemed to think that this meant that they needed to be less filtered, and crazier than normal, Kendall felt opposite of that. She felt like she had to be more careful, because everyone was watching... even people she didn't know. Growing up in front of a camera is an incomparable experience, and while she would never deny that it came with many opportunities and blessings, she doesn't think she would ever choose to do it if given the chance.

It took a while for Kendall to grow into her skin and feel comfortable with herself, and becoming involved in modeling was a major assist in that. While many would assume that it would only be one more source of feeling scrutinized for her, it actually did the opposite. She was thrilled to have a hobby that didn't involve their television show, and though many will argue that it was only her fame through that that brought her connections in the modeling world, she's just glad that she's finally having something of her own to be known for. It's her own niche that none of her sisters can steal the spotlight from her in.

So begins...

Villa Punta Mita is where the group of young celebrities will be spending the first week of their summer together. While many arrived last night, some arrived this morning, but given the amount of luxury that the rented home offers (courtesy of The Johnson Family), it's positive that none of them will want to leave by the time that July 2nd rolls around...

Brody and Chris were friends for many reasons, but the fact that they were both very into fitness had been one of the few things that continued to link them together in the modern day, where their interests were beginning to differ. For as long as Brody could remember, Chris was one of his best friends. They went to school together, grew up hanging out with the same friends, and had fun partying and living it up after high school. Although Brody was pretty content with indulging in alcohol and girls during college, enough so, that he neglected school to a point that he genuinely regrets now, it's clear to him now, that even when he acted like that, he was still different than Chris. He still got his college degree, he never ended up in rehab once, nonetheless three times, and he was never truly out of control like his childhood best friend was. What baffled Brody, was how Chris got to that point. When they were partying together, it was easy for Brody to assume that Chris was just as in control as him. Sure, he knew his friend had a more relaxed vision for his life than Brody did, but he expected Chris to get a grip on his life at some point.

Strangely, Brody still isn't sure, to this day, if Chris has actually grown up. He's proud of him for founding SWERVE, and the success that his gyms are having in Manhattan, but anyone who knows Chris knows that it isn't his blood, sweat and tears behind that. It's the effort of some guy Chris' father hired, that's making Chris' business a success. Though Brody would never delve into the topic with Chris, he thought that it was pretty obvious that the Rockefellers were probably at a point where they were embarrassed at the lack of drive that their son possessed, so putting together this facade under his name was their last option at preserving the family's image in regards to their firstborn. Though it was an act that would sell to most of the world, since Chris' interest in physical health was probably enough to sell the idea that he was running this, to the general public, Brody could laugh out loud at the idea of Chris constructing business plans, working out deals with vendors, and so on. Although he was well aware that he and Chris had grown apart, compared to where they stood ten years ago, Brody was hopeful that this summer would bring them back to where they used to be in their friendship. He missed the good times he used to have with Chris.

Though he had his headphones on for most of it, Brody felt like spending the first few hours of the morning working out with Chris in the fitness center was a good way to start the trip. He had arrived late last night, so he hadn't had much time for socializing before crashing in bed, and was excited to see what everyone else in the house was up to now... or after he showered. That was his first stop once they got back to the main area of the villa, and once he was finished with that, he texted the others while getting dressed.

To: Nicki
Reminder that if anything goes wrong on this trip, you're gonna get blamed for it ;). No pressure. On that note... what's for lunch? After spending 3 hours out-lifting Rockefeller, I've worked up a pretty decent appetite.

To: Kendall, Kylie
You two get here alright?

Lunch is ready

Once those texts were about to be sent, Nicki hesitated, briefly, when it was time to add people to the group that she sent a text to. It probably went without saying that she hadn't needed to send a text to anyone about lunch being ready to be served; a few staff members went out to announce it. However, it was Nicki's own small way of showing her love that the text was sent. She didn't always text EJ just because she felt as though it wouldn't take but a second for the smell of food to waft to his nose for the kid to make his way rather comfortably to the nearest kitchen to be fed. Ariana was just a topic she didn't want to broach at the moment and she never text Kylie in the first place. Chris, though, made her pause. She was pretty certain that he did not know she had caught him with Kylie about a month ago...just after he had confessed to having non-platonic feelings for her. The unwanted memory was still jarring enough to make Nicki feel antagonistic enough to not even acknowledge him, at first. But that was always easier said than done when it came to Chris, their friendship, and her more than real feelings for him...

Nicki stood before the spacious fridge for a moment longer than necessary, allowing the cool air to envelop her as she hugged herself in thought, before shaking her head and checking on the bittersweet chocolate cremeux she had prepared last night so that it could be cold and set for lunch. Nicki didn't have any formal training in cooking, that much was certain. She was too wrapped up environmental science, real estate, and being a bit of a nerd for all of that. But her household differed from everyone else's, she believed, in that her mother taught her to enjoy cooking. They had staff to do it, sure, who could very well do their jobs. At the same time, Nicki learned to appreciate the busy work of cooking and working on more than one task at a time. It had been invigorating, as a child, to realize that her hands could come up with something that her mouth would definitely be pleased by, and it was even more satisfying when the meal came out looking pretty or someone was happy with what she made. But she didn't do the meal alone. Last night, since most people were just arriving (herself included), nothing too extreme needed to be made. However, with everyone staying here and this being the official first day of their vacation together, Nicki figured that grudges could be put aside for her to help in preparing a meal for everyone. By the time Brody had text her, the roast chicken - which had been brushed in duck fat prior to roasting, with fennel panzanella had just been garnished with the last of the escarole, the fresh summer salad with berries had been tossed, and the other chefs in the room were topping the brie and red pepper crostini.

"Paul Cluver Elgin, Miss?" Gerard inquired, holding out a glass with the aforementioned Sauvignon blanc already inside. Nicki smiled graciously and accepted the class, murmuring, "Thank you, Gerard." She sipped the bright, crisp wine, savoring the notes of grapefruit and passion fruit along with the underlying flintiness from the mineral-rich soil of South Africa where the wine had been made. Tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear that had escaped the messy bun she had tossed all of it into, Nicki finally decided to step out onto the veranda closest to the kitchen, which was complete with a sitting area and access to the pool. The very pool Andre had decided to swim a few laps in. Shaking her head, Nicki comfortably folded her arms over her chest before calling out, "Dre! Lunch is ready!"

Andre didn't spend all of his time inside of a gym nor on the courts like his father would have liked. While he was decent enough to be scouted young, at the end of the day, Andre had never been passionate enough about the sport to care to improve. He definitely had a good jump shot, as his father had stated. His stature and build helped immensely when he did play with friends or even some of the players his father had introduced him to. But Andre did like maintaining his build, a habit his little sister made sure to tease him for being very much like a girl for. Nevertheless, though, he didn't feel the need to spend his time in the gym for it. Machines and closed rooms just didn't always inspire him to want to work out, not to the same extent that he knew Brody and Christopher could. Andre got his fitness in weight-lifting, sure, but also hiking, swimming, sprinting, boxing, and a host of other activities that kept him interested while keeping him active. So, it was safe to say that once had squared a few things away back in California, it honestly would come to the surprise of no one who knew him that Andre would be quick to strip off his other clothes, find the first pair of swim shorts he could, and throw himself into almost an hour and a half of swimming in the pool.

"I should've realized you had ear plugs in," Onika stated, amused, as she walked to the pool's edge where Andre began stretching. The offending earpieces sat on the ground. Andre grinned at her, observed her face, and then frowned from his plank position. "And I thought we agreed that you would stop that." Nicki's brow furrowed ever-so-slightly and Andre rolled his eyes, maneuvering himself into a seated position, arms crossed over his knees. "You're doing the face." If he wasn't wet and his phone wasn't currently off, Andre would've already snapped the pic of Onika's confused blush and her mouth, which opened and closed in consternation.

"I'm n-not...I m-mean, I don't - " Andre sighed, cutting her off. "You are and we talked about this," he said calmly, rising to his feet. Biting her lower lip, Nicki sipped a bit more of her wine and Andre shook his head, drying off with the towel that sat beside his phone. Once he felt adequately dried for the time, he wrapped the stark white, fluffy thing around his shoulders before meeting his sister's gaze. "You're nervous. About all of this. It makes sense, but..." He paused just to pick up his phone and turn it on, smirking at the annoyance for how long the pause lasted. "But you've gotta deal, Nika. Everyone's trying to have a fun summer and if something comes up, I'll deal with it." She rolled her eyes. "Of course, you will," she agreed, voice soft. Her gaze turned assessing, briefly, and then Nicki was fixing him with a sharp look, though it was softened by the worry he knew she still held. "Just...don't take anything too far this summer, ok? I can handle Ariana, if it comes to it. Just...don't, ok?" Andre chuckled lowly and took the few steps it took to stand side by side with his little sister. "No promises," he replied and Nicki punched his shoulder with a quiet, "Jerk," before walking back onto the veranda and into the house so that she could return to the kitchen, Andre not too far behind her.

Kendall had been really excited for this summer, ever since the plans had been finalized for it. She had faced a bit of flack from her mother about it all, given that she was still expected to be available for filming of their reality television show, but they worked it out eventually, so that she and Kylie could shoot their scenes in the days that they would be in LA over the next few weeks, in addition to doing a lot of shooting prior to the trip. Kendall really needed a break from life, and this summer was going to be her opportunity to finally relax. She wouldn't have to worry about photo shoots, or interviews, or meetings with different brands. There wouldn't be any controversies in the media (or so she hoped), and for what felt like the first time in forever, she could finally spend time not only with her friends, but with Kylie, too. Given her own hectic work schedule with modeling, coupled with Kylie's tendency to distance herself from... well, just about everyone when she was in her relationship with Tyga, Kendall definitely felt a bit neglected in terms of that sisterly bond.

Unfortunately for her, things proved, right from the start, that they weren't going to be like the perfect fantasy she envisioned in her mind. While she had thought Kylie was just as excited for the trip as she was, on the plane ride over this morning, her younger sister spoke differently about the subject, and her pessimistic and uninterested vibes had left Kendall feeling taken back and disappointed. It was as if suddenly, everyone else who was coming on the trip were only Kendall and Brody's friends, and Kylie was merely tagging along out of service to Kendall, as if she was doing charity work. Kendall was aware that Kylie wasn't as close to Nicki as she was, but her sister was better friends with EJ than she was, and she felt like they were equally close with Grace. Aside from that, Kendall could say that Kylie was even closer to Christopher than she was, but luckily, Kendall was thoughtful enough to know better than to throw that sensitive information back in Kylie's face. She had felt extremely happy, and sadly to say, honored, even, when Kylie had confided in her a few months back about her and Chris sleeping together occasionally. She was glad, because it finally felt like her sister was trusting her and turning to her, reminding her of the old relationship they had before Kylie had started becoming obsessed with fame and guys and scandals. On the contrary, it was also extremely conflicting for her, because she knew that Onika had feelings for Chris, whether she would readily admit to them or not. She was stuck between a rock and a hard place, feeling the need to inform Nicki that Chris probably wasn't someone worth pursuing, but also wanting to adhere to the confidentiality between she and Kylie's sisterly bond. Only because she hadn't seen Nicki and Chris together enough lately, had she decided to keep her mouth shut for now. This summer was going to test that decision, probably, but Kendall was trying to be as positive as possible about this summer, so she tried not thinking about it.

It was only the first day, so maybe that was why it was easy to still tell herself that she could remain positive regardless of what went on with anyone else, but Kendall truly felt determined to have a good and relaxing summer. That was why, when she and Kylie's flight arrived in Mexico at around eight in the morning, she didn't waste any time once they got to their beautiful Punta Mita resort. She scheduled a yoga lesson, spent some time doing that, and then spent a few hours relaxing on the beach with Kylie before returning to her room to shower and actually get ready for the day. What was nice about this trip, though, was that there wasn't anything specific that she really had to get ready for. Though she was excited for the excursions and activities that were probably planned for them, she knew that even those would just be fun and relaxing.

Dressed and feeling ready to take on the day, she headed downstairs just as Nicki's text got to her, and additionally, just as one of the house staff found her to announce that lunch was ready. Thanking them, Kendall opted against responding to Onika's text, but only because it only took a couple of minutes for her to navigate through the large home to find her in the kitchen with Andre. "Ooh, it smells good in here!" she chirped, greeting the sibling duo with a smile as she approached them. Though she and Andre weren't particularly close, she had to giggle as she looked him up and down. "Already went swimming? I'm jealous," she said playfully. She definitely wanted to hit the pool some time today. "What's for lunch? Did Scott and Grace, and the Rockefellers get here okay?" she inquired then, realizing that she really hadn't seen anyone since she had only arrived this morning.

"No need to worry, my little angel. Grace has arrived, and in pristine condition at that," Grace announced, entering the kitchen just in time to ovearhear the inquiry that Kendall made about her, to Andre and Nicki. "I'm just glad that my little Kenny baby made it here safely, without a scratch on her," she said, her voice oozing with playfully obnoxious love as she wrapped her arms around the stick of a girl to give her a hug from behind. When she realized her, and came to her side, she continued to say, "And look at you! Not only are you as flawless looking as ever, but you're glowing, babe!" she cupped Kendall's face in her hands, and pushed it gently to force her to look head-on at Andre and Nicki. "After-sex glow? What do you two think?" She released her friend from her grip just a second later, only to continue to say, "Or are you going to bore me and say that Estee Lauder is just lathering your skin with some new, top-secret formulas that keep you wrinkle free and perfect for all of eternity?" This was typical Grace for you. She was unfiltered and playful, and while she often was a lot to deal with at once, her intentions were always light and playful. She liked having fun and being herself, and if people didn't like her for who she was, she usually just felt like they needed to lighten up.

She had greeted Kendall appropriately, but that didn't mean that she was going to let Nicki and Andre off the hook either. Acting as if she had just noticed how decadent the kitchen smelled, she inhaled deeply and breathed out in pleasure. "Mmm, mmmm, mmm. The smell of this food is making my mouth water, but let's just say it's not the only thing having that affect on me," she continued, purposely allowing her eyes to rove over Andre's form, fitted in only a bathing suit and a towel. This sight was one that perfectly summed up just how blessed Grace was. Who could ask for much more than good friends, good food, and a view like this?!

Scott's flight touched down late last night. Taking the red eye out of LA was his only option after a long day of business venturing with a few new modeling agencies. By the time he pulled into the house, everyone who had arrived that same night had already drank themselves into a pleasant night sleep. Scott sneaked his way into the house and up into the room he would claim as his own for the length of the trip, and collapsed onto the bed. Scott took a deep breath of the fresh air - fresh, clean, sea-salty air that he'll never get in LA. Scott's phone read as 3:28am and his eyes were heavy. Without even peeling off his clothes from the day, Scott passed out. A vacation is exactly what Scott's been needing. To be entirely honest, it's not as though he couldn't one whenever he wanted -Scott was used to traveling for work and now that he's attempting to create a name for himself and get his own business started, he's got plenty more free time. Okay, so maybe it's not so much what he needed, but more so what he wanted. Waking up in the morning would come with endless mimosas and Latin beauties to talk up.

It wasn't an early morning for Scott either. With a late flight in, Scott was all about sleeping in, so when the sun came up Scott wasn't at all bothered by it. It wasn't until around 11 that Scott decided it was time to roll out of bed. He dragged himself into the shower and got himself ready for the day. As he finished getting ready, he heard a call for lunch being ready. His stomach growled angrily at him at the thought of food. He trotted his way downstairs to find his sister, Kendall, and the Johnsons. "Gooooood morning everyone," Scott swiftly wrapped an arm around Grace, giving her a kiss on the cheek and then doing the same to his friend Kendall. "You girls get in just now? Hello Johnsons." Scott made sure to address everyone in the room, he was being nice now but anyone who knew Scott knew it wouldn't last long.

"Kendall!" It was barely a minute that had passed before Nicki's gaze was being directed towards another entrance to the spacious kitchen because Grace had been appeared, which resulted in another excited cry from Nicki. "Grace!" Of course, though, the youngest Eastwood sibling just couldn't pass up the opportunity to mess with Kendall and while she did that, Andre didn't even hesitate to take one of the pretty crostini he knew his sister had a hand in. Nicki was too focused on shaking her head at Grace's obnoxiousness. It never failed that above any of their shared friends, Grace loved antagonizing Kendall; giving her pet names, taking liberties with the girl's body (that were usually still appropriate and obviously not truly as unwanted as Kendall might sometimes act like), and just plain flirt with her. The antics always made Nicki laugh, which was why she didn't even try to hide her giggle, but she did sip her wine thoughtfully, wondering if perhaps this summer it would be the opportunity to see if those two would actually do something about this...interesting dynamic they shared.

"And that would be the one thing that would make my mouth wanna vomit. Ewwww," Nicki exclaimed only a second after Grace decided to leer at Andre, who only shot the blonde a positively dirty grin. Shuddering, albeit playfully, Nicki made her way over to hug Grace quickly before linking arms with Kendall, smiling conspiratorially at her. "Pretty sure we're just gonna have to keep each other company if she's gonna be like that all summer." Andre laughed, biting into the crusty bread and letting the burst of fresh peppers coat his tongue. After a few chews, he acknowledged Grace, smirking as he appreciatively eyed the blonde. "Ignore her, baby doll. She's just jealous she doesn't look as delectable as you." Nicki hurried to make a face. "Ummm, like I said before, ewwwww. Eww to your face, to that, and really anything that is you. Why don't you go put a shirt on or something?" It wasn't a real complaint on Nicki's part, but all in the good-natured bantering that she and Andre could partake in. It was definitely one that made him relax more now that the worry behind her gaze seemed to dissipate in front of two of her good friends. It was obviously what Nicki needed. "Haters gonna hate," he sing-songed, not even hesitating to grab a plate from the pile that had been stacked up on the counter so that he could fix himself something to eat. Regardless of it being their vacation home and them technically having guests, Andre figured that the others were well aware that it was lunch time and Grace didn't lie. It smelled absolutely mouth watering in the kitchen, as it always did whenever his sister decided to cook. And Andre wasn't hesitating to get himself some food. He was ravenous.

Rolling her eyes, Nicki turned her attention to both of the girls. "Anyways, water needs to be a part of our plan today. Whether we hit up the beach or the pool, I don't care, but there needs to be me, a swimsuit, and nothing but actual relaxation for the day." There many things that they could do as a group. Sailing, scuba-diving, jungle exploration - all great things. But it was the first day and Nicki figured a not too complicated first day as a group in the house was best. It probably spoke more to the fact that she was anxious to be in a house with Brody, Chris, Kylie, and Ariana at the same time, but Andre had repeatedly told her not to dwell on it. And she was trying. While grabbing a bread roll that had been freshly baked in the morning, Andre managed to send a text to EJ, just to make sure the idiot was awake enough to come and eat. He didn't need their father calling him about not watching out for the kid, despite how much EJ tried making that near impossible.

To: EJ
Food's ready

Soon, the next person was Scott entering the kitchen and a small smile flitted across Nicki's face as she greeted him. "Hey Scott," Nicki gestured to the food. "You can eat. Actually, everyone can. You guys don't have to wait on the others." Just mentioning the others made Nicki's stomach flutter with unspoken nerves and she sipped more of her wine, faintly wondering if she could get away with another glass before someone (specifically, Andre) noticed that she was on her second without having eaten anything but toast this morning. "Eastwood," was the greeting the newcomer received from Andre followed by an almost indiscernible upward curve of his lips that wouldn't exactly be called a real smile, but at least it was one that was respectful enough to be called inviting. The two of them didn't necessarily call each other friends or get along that much, but it was their summer vacation. If Andre was going to tell Nicki to try, then he couldn't exactly not do the same.

Kendall wished that she could say that she was surprised by the flamboyancy of Grace's greeting, as if it were unusual, but she couldn't. This was Grace, and no matter how much her dramatic antics made Kendall want to roll her eyes to the back of her head, or no matter how red her cheeks always seemed to get, even if she was so used to this beavior, she also could never keep herself from at least giggling at Grace. Because she was entertaining. A lot all at once, yes, but entertaining and good-natured nonetheless. "Agreed," she responded to Nicki's claim that they would have to stick together this summer, rolling her eyes to her, since at least for the moment, she was somehow the victim of Grace's behavior too, in how she was flirting with Andre. "And definitely not an after sex glow. More like a running-on-three-hours-of-sleep glow, but I'll give you credit for being nice to me. Even if it might not mean anything once I eat, and Nicki's brownie points hit the roof," she teased, as Nicki insisted that they could all start eating. She had skipped out on breakfast this morning, just because everything had been too rushed with travelling, so she was definitely ready for whatever this lunch entailed.

As she headed over to grab a plate, Scott entered, and Kendall's smile grew, even just slightly. She liked Scott. He was a lot of fun, and behind all of his craziness was a nice guy. Kendall understood that not everyone else was privileged enough to know that side of the Eastwood, hence why his reputation wasn't always particularlyG favorable among everyone, but she surely was one of his biggest advocates in terms of the better side of his personality actually existing. "Yeah, a few hours ago," she said, as he inquired about her arrival. "Kylie is around... somewhere," she added, trying to suppress the part of her mind that told her that she should be more concerned about her sister's absence for the moment, given that it coincided with Christopher's too. She didn't want to think about that right now - especially not with Onika right by her side. "But yes to the pool or something after lunch!" she piped up, responding to Nicki's statement from a minute prior. "Are we eating inside or outside?"
she then asked, though she was considerably distracted as her eyes grazed over the selection of food available to them.

Like Brody, after spending a few hours in the gym, Chris hit the shower, and following that, all that was on his mind was food. Or that was true, at least, until he headed down the hallway and happened to pass by a bedroom with an open door, only to get a glance of Kylie standing inside in front of a mirror. A grin spread across his face, reflecting the pure amusement he felt as he watched her take a picture of herself in the mirror, unaware of his presence for that moment. He could have kept watching until he ended up snickering aloud and forcing his presence to be uncovered, but he opted against that, and as he leaned against the doorway, he said, "Look who finally showed up. I thought you were gonna second guess all of this, remember that you're too good for us common folk, and bail at the last minute." As far as Christopher knew, no one knew about him and Kylie sleeping together a handful of times over the past few months. He didn't know that Nicki had actually walked in on them doing it, and he didn't know that Kylie had confided in Kendall about it, either. He figured that he would have known by now if anyone important knew, like Nicki or Brody, so he was still feeling confident, and brazen, even, about flirting with her in places where he had a chance of being caught. He was in the mindset where no one other than the two of them knew anything, so no one had any reason to be suspicious or think that he was talking to her in anything other than an innocent way.

The only reason why Kylie's door was open to begin with, was because she had already left her bedroom once to start going downstairs for lunch, only to realize that she had forgotten her phone in her room, so she returned, and after catching a glimpse of herself in the mirror, she couldn't resist taking a selfie only because the lighting in the room right now was too good to turn down. It wasn't an Instagram-worthy picture, that was for sure, but she would save it in her camera roll anyway. Had Christopher not startled her, she probably would have spent another five minutes trying to find the perfect angle, but she nearly dropped her phone in surprise when he spoke up. She regained her composure, walking over to him slowing. With a small smirk of her own, she admitted, "Can't say it didn't cross my mind, but my family's got enough drama going on right now. Didn't need to hand Kendall a reason to start World War III on top of everything else."

"Well, then remind me to thank Kendall, because I don't think I would've done well on the trip going through Kylie withdrawals." He was being cheesy, but purposely so as he remained standing in the frame of the door. It didn't surprise him that Kylie would have tried backing out of the trip, which was why he brought it up. He was friends with Kylie, but the extent of their friendship wasn't public, so that probably didn't count. She had Kendall, and EJ and Grace, and that was more than enough fun there, but he knew Kylie. She liked her other friends, back in LA. She liked being able to jet from Los Angeles to New York, and then to Miami, on a whim, or because someone had pissed her off and she needed to escape and be reckless. Kendall was no Ariana, but a part of Chris felt like he understood how Kylie wanted to have a separate life from her family sometimes, with friends that were only hers, and no one else's. Nonetheless, he was glad that she was here. It would give his reckless side something to thrive on for the week.

"Save it, Chris. I don't think your hoe-stess would appreciate hearing that kind of talk," Kylie said, rolling her eyes as she pressed her hand against his bare chest to push him out of her way, so she could step into the hallway. Though she wished it wasn't there, her smile was still on her face, as it was impossible for her to not feel a bit elated, maybe even exhilarated, flirting with Chris like this. There was no denying that Kylie was attracted to him. Honestly, if she wasn't actually hungry, she could have pulled him into her room right then, just to get him to shut up for the moment. Regardless of the physical attraction, though, she didn't love him. Chris was attractive, but he also represented something else to Kylie. He was someone that she wasn't supposed to be allowed to have, so having him, given that, was what really turned her on.

"Hey, don't bring Andre into this. He might be a little promiscuous, but let the man live," Chris said, knowing perfectly well that Kylie was talking about Nicki. The only way that he could properly respond to that was to maintain his playful attitude right now, because he knew that Kylie was actually right when she said that Nicki probably wouldn't be keen on him acting like the success of this week depended on Kylie's presence. In reality, it didn't depend on Kylie's presence, and Chris knew that. He could have just as good of a time without the Jenner there, but with her here, it would be extra fun. Onika was a topic for a different time, one when Chris was feeling more serious and thoughtful, and getting on that level about her would definitely never happen to Kylie.

"You're so annoying," was all that Kylie said to him as she purposely took the lead in walking downstairs, and into the kitchen. She was surprised to see that so many people were already in there, even though the surprise wasn't really well-warranted, given that the staff had made the lunch announcement at least five or ten minutes ago. "Hi," she said, opting for a mass greeting, and ignoring how forced and awkward it came out as she put on a smile, abandoning Chris as she made her way towards Grace and Kendall, to check out the food.

Kylie's minimal greeting made him want to comment on that, but he opted to antagonize Nicki instead, mostly because he missed her... and doing it to her. "Really? A glass of wine, Nicki? Are we in a vineyard of Italy, or in fucking Mexico? Maybe us Rocekefellers just aren't as classy as you Johnsons, because I know that whenever Ariana gets her ass down here, she's gonna remind you all of how the Rockefellers live life in Mexico, and want a shot of tequila, A-S-A-P," he said, though anyone who knew Ariana knew that that was probably the last thing she would ask for. "Scotty Boy, my man, I know you and Blondie know what being in Mexico entails, yeah?" he said, enjoying himself too much, indirectly at Nicki's expense, as he greeted Scott with a pat on the back. "Tequila shots to kick off this summer, or are you too much of a bitch?" he said, playfully provoking the guy that Chris knew couldn't back down from a challenge.

Grace couldn't resist blowing Andre a kiss to add to their playful flirtations, especially once Nicki made it perfectly clear that she wasn't quite a fan of the show they were making. To Grace, that only meant be even more obnoxious with it, but Scott came in, followed by Christopher and Kylie, so Grace couldn't quite play it up as well as she wanted to. That was no problem, though. They had alllllllll summer for that kind of mischief. "Watch yourself, Rockefeller. Us Eastwoods can out drink seasoned alcoholics," she warned aloud, though with little seriousness behind her words, before she turned back to the girls to speak to them more directly, rather than to the group as a whole. "I'll do a shot if we're doing the whole toast-to-summer kinda thing, but I could go for a nice glass of white wine with this lunch," she said, as she followed Andre and Kendall's lead in grabbing a plate to start eating.

She instinctively grabbed one for Kylie too, handing it to her as she instantly noticed the almost uncomfortable vibe that the girl came in with. Grace was not going to allow that vibe to stick around, but she wasn't going to address it specifically yet. Instead, she raised her voice a touch now, looking at Nicki with the best serious and annoyed expression that she could muster up as she added, "That is, if Nicki would stop hoarding the wine for herself. You're probably one of the seasoned alcoholics I was referring to. You're lucky that you're pretty on the inside, because I'm sure by now, your liver is an ugly little mess, my love." Grace was absolutely talking out of her ass at this point, because it was nearly common knowledge that Nicki was one of the more responsible ones within their group. Grace could definitely give her credit for being more easily influenced into having fun than Kendall, but she still wasn't even comparable to an alcoholic, in terms of drinking that heavily and regularly. "Where's my baby EJ?" she asked, looking to Kylie as if she would somehow know better than Nicki or Andre. She was curious about where Ariana and Brody were too, but since they were both missing, she just instantly assumed they were together, even though she knew about their breakup. Plus, she didn't really care about where Ariana was, and she was sure that Brody could fend for himself, wherever he was.

When Andre would - eventually because it was bound to happen now that they were all going to be trapped in vacation home after vacation home together - find out about Christopher and Kylie, and that being one of the reasons why Onika was where she was with Brody currently, he was going to feel a bit more rightfully assertive in his already profound protectiveness over her when it came to the eldest Rockefeller. He had never supported the close friendship his sister had formed with the guy, citing Chris' reckless and near suicidal behavior as a reference for his distaste. He was a bad influence and even if Nicki herself had an outstanding level of self-control, it didn't matter to Andre. Chris, more than even Grace sometimes, fueled her impulsive tendencies. More than that, though, was Andre's distrust for the way her gaze would linger on the male, the stirrings of longing he wished he would have been able to cut short the second they had arisen. Especially considering the fact that the guy in question hardly seemed worthy of Nicki or even like he was interested in what she would want, which was a relationship. Nicki didn't do flings and Andre wished she didn't do Christopher Rockefeller, but that was for another day. For now, though, he wasn't being antagonistic towards Chris when the man arrived, but he also wasn't oblivious to the fact that his sister's frame went frigid when she saw him. He couldn't tell if Kendall had noticed because she had already released Nicki and he wasn't banking on anyone else paying attention Andre didn't make a face nor do anything spectacular, like immediately demand what the fuck had happened, but he did pointedly grab a clean plate and take two large steps to his sister, preferring it to her with a silent demand before she could even request a refill of her wine. Taking it, Nicki beamed at Grace, not even bothering to acknowledge Chris nor Kylie's meager greeting. All she saw when she looked at either of them was her own heart breaking and now was not the time to cry again, especially over someone who obviously didn't care. Faintly, she wondered what was taking Brody so long.

"All of this coming from the chick who likes to hoard Kendall on a regular basis," she replied cheekily, casually beginning to fill her plate by grabbing onto a few crostinis. "You're lucky you're the cute one cuz I don't know how this friendship would have lasted otherwise." It wasn't an actual meal yet, but she figured that the piercing stare her brother had given her a moment ago would dissipate if she at least looked like she was going to eat something. It wasn't her fault that her appetite diminished a bit when her stomach dropped at the first sight of Christopher and Kylie together. Andre caught Gerard's eye, who was already bringing out another bottle of the wine Nicki was drinking. He hadn't put away the first one, either. "You heard the man, G," he exclaimed, relaxing his own frame now that he had a plate of food. "Bring on the tequila. Us Johnsons apparently have a reputation to protect." The staff member nodded and started instructing a few of the servers. Contrary to popular belief, Andre was very much capable of letting loose and having fun. He just didn't do it in the near image-ruining and honestly self-destructive ways that both Scott and Chris seemed to enjoy doing it. He could drink with the best of them and party as hard, if he so pleased. He just wasn't pressed to burn a hole through his liver or rack up as many DUIs as a few of his counterparts.

Neither of the siblings bothered to even answer Grace about EJ's whereabouts, mostly because Andre didn't care now that he had text his baby brother and also because Nicki wasn't paying attention. She was too busy sidling past a still browsing Kendall to get one of the smallest pieces of chicken along with some of the fennel panzanella. "We've got all week to be cooped up inside. Let's eat outside," she told Kendall meanwhile. She felt unsafe and like she wasn't getting enough air in the kitchen, and the veranda had a nice sized table for her guests. Perhaps Nicki was being a bit dramatic, but at least she wasn't loud with her discomfort. And it was always easy for her to put on a big enough smile to fool even her mother. Her stomach still churned uncomfortably and she felt less inclined to eat, but it would be too obvious if she didn't. Plus, Nicki wasn't the greatest liar in the house; she wasn't sure, especially with how fragile she suddenly felt, that she could pull of saying that she had eaten enough at breakfast. Especially with Andre being the only one who knew that she didn't. As if he sensed her displeasure, Nicki felt her other hand have some added weight and when she glanced to it, Gerard had filled her practically empty glass with more wine. She smiled, a little too grateful to have more alcohol in her belly. "Thanks, love. Bring the shots out on the veranda." With her other hand about to scoop some of the summer salad on her plate, a meager portion, Nicki set her wine glass down to pull out her phone and text Brody.

She did feel like Brody was despicable, but of course, it wasn’t a fair use of words. She had cheated just like he had, but somehow, her doing it was different. For one, hers was with someone that he didn’t know. He would never meet the guy who was an old family friend of the Rockefellers, because Ariana had always been careful, no- considerate enough to never invite him to any event that she and Brody would be at. Brody slept with someone who could technically be considered a mutual friend of theirs, even if she and Onika definitely weren’t friends. Their families were friends, and that counted enough in itself for his infidelity to feel like even more of a slap in the face than it would have been, if he had slept with someone who was a stranger to Ariana. At least then, she would have been able to convince herself that the girl was some no-good slut, who was unsuccessful in every aspect of her life. She knew Nicki, and she knew that wasn’t true, so there was no use in trying to convince herself of that just to make herself feel better. Additionally, though Brody insisted that them sleeping together had only occurred once, now Ariana was left to wonder how true that even was. How many times had she left Brody alone in a room with Nicki, thinking nothing of it? What else could have happened, that he wasn’t confessing to now? Although Brody and Ariana had essentially admitted to the same thing, therefore, it was like a tit for a tat, Ariana still felt humiliated and betrayed. A lot of her anger was focused on Brody, but she wouldn’t have been human if she didn’t feel some sort of disgust for Nicki too. She was a homewrecker, whether the home was already unstable before she wrecked it or not.

With all of that said, Ariana was committed to at least trying to be civil towards everyone this summer, regardless of how she truly felt. She was Ariana Rockefeller, and a major aspect of being someone who was so composed and perfect in their reputation, meant that she couldn’t be too callous, or immature, or hateful in very obvious ways. She had to seem unbothered by the actions of unimportant people, even if it was only an act. That was why she entered the kitchen with a smile on her face, glad to see that Christopher was present and not somehow already getting himself into trouble, and unknowingly glad that she hadn’t heard the words that had come out of his mouth just a few seconds before. β€œHi, everyone,” she smiled, taking in the scene in the kitchen. It seemed like everyone other than Brody and EJ were there, and regardless of the vast size of the house and kitchen in itself, she was glad that her twin sister Colette, and younger brother, had opted out of this summer trip, because she was already feeling overwhelmed at the size of the group here. A part of it was probably that she wasn’t particularly fond of Nicki right now (or ever), and how she wasn’t close friends with Grace either. That added two potential enemies to her list, and given where she and Brody stood right now, it was easy to make that a list of three. Notably, though, she wasn’t going to allow her breakup with Brody to sour the light that she viewed Kendall and Kylie in. Kendall was a good girl, a compatible friend for Ariana, and though Kylie was a bit more of a problem child, Ariana had always just seen her as being a work in progress. She wasn’t going to abandon that project just because her brother couldn’t keep his dick in his pants. When one of the staff workers in the kitchen offered her a glass of wine, Ariana gladly accepted. She was unaware of the plans to have tequila brought out, but she probably wasn’t going to drink that anyway. Regardless of being in Mexico, it was noon. Even if she was going to drink hard liquor right now, it wasn’t going to be in the form of a shot. β€œI’m glad you two got here safely,” she said, as she took a plate and nudged Kendall’s arm lightly in the process. β€œIs your brother here, too?” she inquired, purposely attempting to normalize the air regarding her and Brody. She wasn’t going to act hostile towards him, and she didn’t want people to feel weird referencing him around her, since they were going to be spending a few months together, but she also wished that she wasn’t genuinely curious about where Brody was. She wished she didn’t care about him at all, at this point, but unfortunately, she wasn’t there yet.

Scott's gaze met the food as the rest of the crowd discussed plans and picked on each other. Scott's only care in the world at the moment was food, booze, and boobs and nothing wqs going to get in the way of him enjoying a full time vacation. As he filled a plate with food, Chris and Kylie joined the room and Chris wasted no time picking on Nicki. Scott smiled at the comments being made and turned away from the food to draw his attention to the bullying going on behind him. "Com'on Rockerfeller, you know damn well there's nothing classy about the Johnsons. It's all publicity." Scott smirked and tossed a wink in Nicki's direction. "Isn't that so, Onika?" Scott's smile was sly and devious, he brought an apple to his lips and took a large bite. Scott knew that nothing would ever happen between he and Nicki, but that didn't stop him from flirting with and teasing her. Not that Nicki wasn't his type, but more so that he wasn't her type. He still enjoyed having as much fun as he could with her though. Scott's shot towards Nicki wasn't meant to be in light of recent events but when Ariana entered the room, Scott could almost feel the air get heavy with tension. As Ariana spoke, however, it was clear she was doing her best to cut through said tension. To Scott, the knife was a bit dull though and he could see right through it.

"Hey Ari," Scott smiled towards her. Scott had always had a soft spot for Ariana, he's always had a thing for her. And as vultures do, Scott's plan has been to circle her until she was free to be picked up. With this whole thing going on between Ari and Brody that Scott had picked up from his sister, Grace, he knew this his opportunity to show Ariana that Scott was a much better man than Brody - regardless of whether or not it was true, which it probably wasn't. In an attempt to help break the growing tension, Scott spoke up, "Where is the less fun Jenner?" Scott's question wasn't directed at anyone in particular but he gave no one time to answer. "Not even important, I'm the life of the party and I'm right here." Scott squeezed past the crowding area and headed towards the back veranda. "How about we atop worrying about shitheads who obviously don't want to have fun and we go take shots by the pool." Sccot gave a tap to Chris' chest as he walked by him and mentioned for him to follow. "Chris, let's show 'em how it's done in Mexico. Gerard, bring the tequila, shot glasses, salt and some limes. We're going to fuckin' party." Time wasn't an issue for this borderline alcoholic, it was 5 o'clock somewhere.

"Sounds good!" Kendall agreed when Nicki reasoned that it would be nice to eat outside. She was ready to get some sun and fresh air, and the ambiance of an outdoor meal seemed perfect right about now. She giggled quietly as Grace continued to be herself; luckily now, just going on about how Nicki was probably an alcoholic hoarding all of the wine for herself, and it wasn't until Kendall's plate was completed that she actually starting paying attention to everything occurring in the room. Christopher had entered, not wasting a moment in time before starting to be his playfully belligerent self - with Nicki as his first target. Scott only fed off of this energy, and that in itself worried Kendall since she knew that both of the boys could be a force to be reckoned with on their own, and coupled together, they were definitely a mess and a half- albeit a fun one.

The fact that Nicki didn't even respond to Chris was what caught Kendall's attention. The snub wasn't anything that was particularly obvious, given how quickly things were moving in the kitchen. Kylie and Ariana were there then too, but for the moment, Kendall had to take a second to look at Nicki, actually attempting to read her. She couldn't tell what was really going on in the girl's head, but she definitely sensed that something was bothering her in regards to Chris, and instinctively, Kendall prayed that it had nothing to do with Kylie walking in at the same time as Chris. Additionally, she prayed that the mere fact that Kylie and Chris had walked in together was nothing more than a coincidence, and that they hadn't been hanging out or even talking before coming down here. Kylie had confided in Kendall about her and Chris a few weeks back, and ever since, she had been left feeling conflicted given that she knew that Nicki had a very long-lasting crush on the Rockefeller. If she had known that Chris had mutual feelings for Nicki, and had confessed said feelings to her on the same exact day that Nicki happened to walk in on him having sex with Kylie... it was safe to assume that Kendall's blood pressure would have been off the charts. She felt bad enough given the little that she knew, and the way that Nicki's mood seemed to shift quickly made her worried that Nicki knew more than she thought she knew, too. With so many people present, it didn't seem like the best time to investigate, but Kendall was definitely not going to let this go entirely.

She tried to put the thoughts on hold for a moment though, and the smile that appeared on her face as Kylie came over to them was genuine. She was glad that she was downstairs and socializing, even if she did seem to be carrying a slight attitude with her.
As Grace inquired about EJ, Kendall was able to talk to Ariana, whose presence had also made her happy. Even though she and Brody's relationship was over, Kendall still considered Ari to be a close and trustworthy friend, and the fact that she was inquiring about her brother made her feel a little bit more at ease about the two of them spending the summer together. "He's definitely here somewhere. I'm surprised that he's not down here yet, actually," she responded to Ari and partially to Scott too, realizing that it was unlike her brother to not be early to anything that involved food. She could have spent more time lingering on the matter, but Nicki seemed to have finished plating her food too, so Kendall started towards the door that led outside. "Come on, Nicki!" she called out behind her with a smile, as she headed outside, "I call dibs on getting to sit next to you!"

There definitely was a little (or at least she thought it was little) part of Kylie that was bratty, and that part of her wanted to feel offended at how no one really acknowledged her presence any more than she acknowledged theirs. She wasn't expecting a greeting as if she had just come home from war, but for some reason, it bothered her that Kendall seemed preoccupied with Nicki, and that Chris quickly scurried off to engage with the boys. Grace posed a good question, as she handed Kylie a plate: where was EJ? Right then, Kylie decided that he was certainly going to have to be her rock this trip, the person that she would clique up with since she automatically decided that everyone else was already cliquing up and purposely leaving her out. "That's a good question," she answered, seeing as neither of EJ's siblings nor Kendall seemed inclined on offering any sort of insight. Kylie really wasn't sure about where the youngest Johnson was, as she had been a bit preoccupied this morning with sulking and attempting to adjust to the change of scenery (even though given its beauty, it wasn't that hard). Plus, Kylie was the type who preferred to let others reach out to her, rather than reaching out to them herself, even if she wanted to talk to them.

Now, she felt desperate enough to break that rule, and so as Kendall answered Ariana, and then headed outside, Kylie set her empty plate down and looked to Grace. "I'm gonna go find him," she said, as she pulled out her phone to simultaneously text him saying, "Where are you? Save me." Though she easily could have filled her plate like the others, and went outside to wait for him, she didn't feel like it. Since she had already convinced herself that she was being purposely treated poorly and unfairly, she wasn't going to subject herself to such treatment any longer than necessary, and instead, would wait for him inside instead.

"And you're lucky that you've got a nice ass, or else I don't know how this friendship would have even started," Grace countered, a smirk present on her face as she responded to Onika. She was definitely in a good mood this morning, but who wouldn't be? She was in a beautiful home, surrounded by beautiful people, with only good times planned. When Ariana came down, Grace had to restrain herself to not roll her eyes at the mere energy that the brunette brought into the room with her, and her presence was the best reminder that it was possible that there might be drama involved in the good times too, but Grace tried to look past it. She and Ariana had no real problems at all. Ariana just seemed pretentious and condescending; she didn't need to do anything personally to Grace, for her to feel that way. Even if she was quite content with the idea of ignoring Ariana all summer, Grace would have been flat out lying if she were to claim that she wasn't interested in seeing how everything progressed between the Rockefeller daughter, and Brody. Even being fairly uninformed on their relationship compared to the others who were closer with Brody and Ariana, Grace could tell that that was going to be a show worth watching, when drama started going own.

As Kendall led the way outside, Grace was still busy picking out what she wanted to eat for lunch, but that wasn't even enough of a distraction to keep her from responding when Kendall announced that she was sitting next to Nicki. "I already claimed the seat next to Nicki, so I guess you'll have to sit on my lap!" she called out after them, in no way feeling like she should slow down on the comments any time soon. She was only getting started, and with tequila and wine on the menu, the prospect of her becoming any more refined today was absolutely obsolete. As Grace decided which piece of chicken looked best for her plate, she distractedly responded to Kylie, saying, "When you find him, smack him on the head and tell him it's from his boo, for running late."

His sister's arrival brought up questions regarding Brody's whereabouts, which was a question on Christopher's mind too, though it wasn't a pressing one. Brody was too responsible now to need to be worried about, and besides that, Chris had Scott now, and that was all he needed to have fun. If anything, he was sure that with Andre here, Brody would gravitate to him anyway, so that they could be sticks in the mud together. Though Chris would likely roll his eyes at that, citing that Brody hadn't been so boring just a few years ago, it wouldn't bother him too much. He had Scott, and that was enough in itself, but once Nicki got over whatever was apparently bothering her (which Chris simply assumed had nothing to do with him), he would have her and the rest of the girls to party with.

"Cheers to that, man," Chris remarked solidly, as Scott motioned for him to follow him outside, under the impression that they were about to start this trip off on a very good note. Before he could follow, though, he had to make himself a plate. He wanted a lot on his plate, because it was no secret that Chris could and did eat a lot, but it didn't take him long to prepare the plate in itself, since he was happy with just taking a bit of everything he saw. He wasn't a picky eater, and knew that whatever came out of this kitchen was going to have his taste buds praising God regardless. Since Nicki seemed privy on ignoring him, Chris was going to do the same, but only in an obnoxiously playful manner. As he headed outside to meet Scott, he followed behind Kendall, but spoke loud enough to ensure that it was clear that he was speaking to Scott, though he knew everyone else could hear too. "Damn, Nicki's in high demand today," he remarked, surprise evident in his voice. "I guess I'll be a follower and stake my claim on the seat across from her. That way, I can stare into those beautiful eyes all meal and she won't be able to ignore me like she's trying to do now. You know she loves playing hard to get, don't ya, Eastwood?" he said, purposely hovering by the table and not taking a seat, as he planned on making good with his decision to sit across from wherever Nicki decided to sit.

Ariana's presence only managed to further dissipate all trace she of hunger that honestly should have been in Onika's body, but she had already said that she would try to be pleasant during this vacation so she made the concious effort to remain unbothered. It definitely wasn't an easy task, considering her past with the newly arrived female. Nicki wouldn't say that Ariana single-handedly made a big portion of her formative years miserable; that would be a stretch. But she definitely recognized - and never forgot - that Ariana wasn't innocent either. Combine that with the fact that the two had never meshed well at all in all the years they had known each other, despite their families' bond, and it was safe to say that Ariana wasn't exactly a face that inspired a smile out of Onika and the feeling was mutual. It didn't help that their current situation, one Nicki wasn't even ready to share with her best of friends, made her skin all prickly and anxiety bloom in the pit of her stomach. Luckily, both Grace and Kendall served as the best muses for distraction, and Nicki scrambled to make sure she had what she needed before walking with latter outside.

It would've been easy, then, to immerse herself in discussion with her girls. Though whatever plans they made would eventually include Kylie for obvious reasons, Nicki knew that with Kendall's reasonable personality and Grace's eccentric one, Nicki could get by. Even at the table they were getting set to settle at, she was minisculely relaxing with the promise of unnecessary alcohol and good company. Better company if Brody hurried up and graced them with his presence. But it never failed that Chris either didn't catch the hint, or caught it and opted to be an ass anyway. It never failed to exasperate her. It never failed to make her roll her eyes while trying to bite back the smallest hint of a smile, even when smiling was the last thing on her mind. More than any of that, it never failed to goad her, made her hackles rise. Made her want to respond. Ignoring the way her heart started to break out into a ramba against her rib cage - a sign that she needed to shut the entire fuck up, even if everyone wasn't outside yet - and with far more grace than she thought she had, Nicki whirled on her toes to face him, a challengingly cold glare on her face even as her lips curled into something that wasn't really a smile. "Well, I'd rather play that than the lying game. I'd hate having to go up against the pro right here, guys. He always wins." The last sentence came out too softly, a shaky bitterness that made Nicki feel too exposed and way too sober. So, she turned her back to the boys, nudging Kendall along so that they could get to their seats. Why was the tequila taking so long?

Never let it be said that he wasn't a multi-tasker because while Andre was making sure that the tequila and shot glasses were being retrieved, and Andre was acknowledging people as they came into the kitchen, his gaze never strayed too far from his sister. At least, until she had disappeared outside with some of the others. Some would call it an obvious sign of him needing to chill out and perhaps then Nicki might being able to fully do so, but Andre didn't relax when it came to family. Especially when Nicki's body language suggested more and more discomfort. He'd be just as concerned if it were EJ, even if the two clashed on a regular basis and hardly had as many more loving fraternal moments as he was wont to have with Nicki. "Hey,
Ariana,"
he greeted her pleasantly. Andre forced his gaze to leave Nicki, especially when Kendall's face seemed to take on a pensive disposition and she was leading the way outside. Approval making him smile, Andre was actually prepared to follow the group when he heard Brody entering the kitchen, and his smile slipped into an easy grin.

"What can I say, man? Your loss," he replied, nodding to the staff who brought out two bottles of the Gran Patron Burdeos tequila Andre was sure his dad and Nicki had to have picked out together on their last trip to Mexico. He wasn't as picky about his tequila as the two of them. Watching them leave to go out to the others was an easy distraction from the almost unsettling energy emanating from Brody and Ariana's interaction. Though Andre knew the two were trying to be friends, considering the fact that he wasn't aware that Ariana knew that it was his sister Brody had cheated on her with, there was a lingering awkwardness there in having to witness the two together, even if they both willed there to not be such. It was just...the way life worked, he mused. It was when he noticed that Kylie hadn't moved to join the others did he turn back to the others, smirking upon Brody's acknowledgement of him. "It wouldn't be her if she didn't," Andre answered, a distinctive hint of pride in his voice. "I think she started this yesterday. I don't even wanna know what she's coordinated with the staff for our last night here." Ready to depart, his gaze switched between the two former lovers and the smile he gave was friendly. "Don't take too long to get your plates. Can't leave all of them alone for too long. They'll drink both of those bottles."

"Ass," Nicki muttered, more to herself than to Chris since she had already turned from him and was making good on having a seat with her girls. She didn't bother trying to explain herself nor acknowledge Chris again at the moment, instead opting to sit with Kendall and Grace on either side of her, even though she was discreetly keen on seeing if Grace would try to get their brunette friend to find a seat on her lap. "Ignoring that, I'm in need of a spa day at least once this week. I haven't had a good massage in a month, she proclaimed, an almost pleading look in her eyes when she turned her gaze to both girls. She knew, especially with Kendall, that she was going to have to explain what the hell her outburst was for. Hell, she knew that, eventually,
she was going to have to have an actual discussion with Chris at some point. There was no avoiding that. But it didn't mean either of those conversations had to happen now and she needed the distraction.

Truth be told, Nicki was more upset with the fact that her feelings, though she could be good at tampering them down, were so close to the surface than her actually being upset with Chris. Oh, she was definitely upset with him, maybe even actually angry.
She was definitely hurting, even if he wouldn't understand it. But she also hated that everything was this all-encompassing. Nicki wasn't a stranger to the fact that, perhaps, she wore her heart more on her sleeve than she wanted to admit. That because she usually had such a small circle, she didn't always feel the need to hide herself and so her emotions were a lot more easily accessible when dealing with these people. Even though she liked to believe that she wasn't that obvious, there was no doubt in her mind that more people knew about her latent feelings for Chris than they let on. But still, acknowledging that her emotions were a bit more apparent and actually having to deal with said emotions left her feeling far too exposed, uncomfortable and nervous. And nervous usually meant babbling and saying exactly what she didn't want to say.

The comment from Grace about the seating arrangements went unanswered – verbally, at least. Since Kendall’s back was to the girl, and her facial expression wasn’t in clear sight of anyone as she headed outside, she didn’t bother trying to bite back the smile that crept onto her face like she normally would do when Grace made a comment like that. The blonde was so annoyingly good at getting under her skin, but in ways that made not smiling impossible (even if sometimes it was out of embarrassment or surprise at just how far Grace could take things). They were outside by the time that Kendall really processed the quick yet sharp exchange that had just occurred between Chris and Nicki. She was definitely taken by surprise when Nicki responded to Christopher’s typical arrogance and playfully antagonistic behavior with a comment that insinuated that he was a liar, and apparently, had lied about something major enough to really bother her. Chris seemed just as confused as she was, maintaining his typical attitude as he made some comment about Tinder and Nicki being Catfished, but Kendall knew very well that he wasn’t to be trusted. She didn’t understand that Nicki was referring to anything involving Chris and Kylie, because she didn’t know that Nicki knew about that, but given that she knew that he did that, he wouldn’t be surprised if he was doing more immoral things that would constitute as lying.

It automatically had her looking to Nicki with concern, even as they sat down and the girl tried to normalize their conversation with talk of massages and spa days. It was evident that the girl didn’t want to address what had just occurred, and Kendall could sympathize for that, because it was clear that emotions were involved that weren’t necessarily positive ones… but now she felt confused, too. She wanted to know what that was about, so if nothing else, she could blacklist Chris for the trip too, simply out of doing wrong to her friend. ”Kinda hard to ignore that,” Kendall insisted, though her voice was purposely hushed. ”I’m so confused. What did he do?” she asked, after a slight pause where she deliberated whether she was going to actually ask or leave it to rest, and simply respond to the spa comments. If she didn’t get her answer (or at least be able to tell herself that she tried by asking), there was no way that she was going to be able to eat or do anything else today. Part of her would end up being worried that it somehow related back to Kylie’s involvement with Chris, and the larger part of her would be too concerned about Nicki actually hurting over something that this boy apparently had done to her.

While Kendall opted for the more refined approach (and given how Nicki seemed to want to brush it under the rug, the more appropriate response, too), Grace just couldn't do that. She could be serious some times, and no one could say that she wasn't a good friend, but she just had a different way of going about things. One that was a little bit louder, in the obvious sense, and in a metaphorical one as well. She didn't like sugarcoating things, but she also wasn't about to ruin the mood, so a more playful, yet still serious in the sentiment, approach seemed like her best bet. If she didn't like Chris, it would have been easier for her to verbally crucify him (and if she didn't like him, that's actually exactly what she would have done), but she liked Chris, and Nicki hadn't given her enough to work with to know if she was referring to something serious, or was just mad at him for lying about something silly. "Oh no, Chrissy baby," she said, shaking her head and wagging her a finger at him, on the hand that wasn't holding her plate. "You picked the wrong girl to lie to. Messing with my Nicki?! My baby girl?!" she continued, speaking in true offense and horror, even though she was oblivious to what Onika was actually referring to when she insinuated that he was a big liar. "You better sleep with one eye open or you'll have a house worth of bricks tied to your ankle and you'll only realize it when the drugs start wearing off right before we toss you off the side of the boat into the beeeeeeea-utiful Pacific!" She had only just taken her seat by the time that she finished nearly singing out that threat, as she had lagged behind the group heading out by a few steps.

It was only once she was settled that she realized that Nicki had seemingly purposely placed herself in between herself and Kendall. "Since Rockefeller did you wrong, I'm gonna be nice and let you hog my beautiful Kendall today, and I'll give you the best massage that your pretty little self has ever experienced in your life. Just because I'm that good of a friend. And if it comes to it, you know I'm not opposed to dumping a body and hiding the evidence. As far as I know, Rockefeller was acting wasted all day and must've went out for a swim and drowned or something," she said, putting an innocent expression on her face as she shrugged her shoulders, as if she were rehearsing their alibi for the investigation following Chris's potential disappearance. She was interested in seeing if Nicki responded to Kendall's more serious inquiry regarding Chris and Nicki's back and forth, but unlike Kendall, not knowing wasn't going to ruin her day. Grace was sure Nicki would confess to what was bothering her sooner than later, and she wasn't going to force it out of her right now... not when there was a plate of beautiful looking and smelling food in front of her, and tequila (and hopefully wine, too) on its way out. "And if the cops still seem suspicious about us, we'll make sure that Kendall has a can of Pepsi on hand."

See, this was the reason Nicki absolutely adored Grace! While Nicki knew for a fact that Kendall was going to expect an explanation, again, it didn't mean that she wanted to do it, especially not now. She was probably being a bit petulant about it considering the fact that Nicki - not anyone else - had been the one who made her outburst, who had randomly hit Chris with a burst of passion that had honestly been ready to be spewed the second her flight had landed and she remembered that she was going to see him. Nevertheless, she understood that she wasn't going to be able to get away from the situation easily, but it was just helpful that Grace was everything light-hearted and fun and good in this situation. Enough so that, despite her desire to shift their focus on something else and just pretend that nothing had happened, Nicki couldn't even pretend to not giggle at Grace's exclamation. Especially when she was given permission to hog Kendall, who was still eyeing her with a bit of that concern that made Nicki almost want to just sob out everything. It was crazy, really. Was she always this fucking emotional?

"And this is why you're one of my favorites, Grace. But careful there, I might take you up on that offer," Nicki told her, taking a sip of her wine as a few staff members brought out both the wine and the tequila. Nicki watched them set a wine glass by each seat for the guests and just as they were going to do the same with the shot glasses, Nicki belatedly reveled in her apparently inner bitch because - despite her being the Johnson sibling who wasn't exactly as strict about drinking ages and all that - she was quick to exclaim, "No hard liquor for two of those. They're underage." And if she happened to cast Chris a small look before remembering that she was leaving Kendall hanging, well, that was his own fault. "It's not exactly what he did," she tried to explain in a tone only the two of them could hear, but winced before trying again, babbling and probably letting out more than she wanted to given the present company, "I-I mean, obviously he did something...not that that's surprising since he's pretty the poster child for doing the absolute wrong things. And people, even after..." Nicki paused then, using the fork to mess with her salad. She legitimately had to force herself to not look at Chris then, opting to stare at Kendall. "Look, it's...complicated. Can we...not? Like, not right now?"

Grace didn't think that whatever this was, was as complicated as Nicki claimed it was. She had heard the only part of her explanation that mattered: "...doing the absolute wrong things. And people". Yep, that explained it. Who this person was, was beyond Grace, but the fact that something like that would irk Nicki was not beyond her. She didn't know that Christopher had actually confessed his feelings for Nicki to her, and she and Nicki had probably never even discussed blatantly that Nicki really liked Chris, but it didn't take a psychiatrist with a degree from the top medical school in the country to know that Nicki felt something for him. Something that was more that the bit of physical attraction that Grace felt when she looked at his oh-so-perfectly sculpted body. "We can not, right now," Grace agreed, seeing that Nicki was growing uncomfortable. She wasn't going to push it, and she even realized not to make some big scene and be callous about this, even though she definitely felt like pressing Chris on what slut he thought superseded her friend. She couldn't let it go without leaning a bit closer to Nicki to whisper, "But just remember that I'm not against dumping the body of that ugly slut, too." She obviously wouldn't have used such a description if she knew that it was Kylie who was the person Nicki referred to, but given that she would never even consider assuming it was Kylie or a friend of hers, it felt safe to be the good friend who automatically hated the person who had upset her friend.

As she finally turned to her plate, following in Nicki's lead in starting with her salad, she had to look up when she realized that Nicki had told the staff not to give Kylie and EJ shot glasses. "They're underage in the USA, but we're in Mexico!" she sang, emphasizing their location by adding a Spanish accent to the word. "Which means Kylie and EJ are getting just as fucked up as we are, and there ain't nothing Onika Sy-Johnson can do about it!"

"It's fine. She honestly doesn't need to be drinking hard liquor either way," Kendall piped up, waving the staff member on, once they seemed somewhat conflicted given Nicki's order followed by Grace's counter. She had partied with her younger sister before, both when they were both underage, and now when Kylie was the only one who was underage. They drank at clubs and restaurants and parties... it was one of those things where it was easy to be served if an establishment wanted you (and the press that followed you) to keep coming back. Given the extent that their lives were publicized, they did have to be more careful about just how much they partied, since it was essentially guaranteed that if they ever went too crazy, especially at a club or somewhere public, that it would show up on TMZ the next day. Even so, what seemed to be the entire point of their public draw was being a little bit scandalous, so it made sense that they were never always on their best behavior. Regardless of that, though, no one could claim that Kendall was irresponsible as a person overall, and especially she was hanging around family, she felt a greater need to be mature and in control. That was why she agreed with Nicki, regardless of Grace throwing the difference in the country's laws back at them.

The fact that a second before, it had clicked in her head that Onika was referring to Kylie and Christopher's relationship, made her feel like Kylie needed alcohol in her even less. Really, though, that was the last thing that she was thinking about. When Nicki referenced Chris "doing a person", Kendall automatically knew it was her sister. She knew now, that Nicki knew too about the physical relationship between Kylie and Christopher, and it made her feel sick to her stomach. She knew that Nicki didn't know that she knew about it, or at least that there was no way that Nicki knew for certain that she knew, but either way, she still felt her stomach drop when Nicki said that. Nicki wouldn't know that she knew, which meant that she couldn't be painted as a horrible friend, but that didn't mean that Kendall was emotionally out of the woods. No, now she had to deal with the fact that her best friend knew that her sister was sleeping with the guy she loved. She had to deal with not knowing whether she should tell Kylie that, or even tell Kylie to back off of Chris entirely, and risk being painted as a horrible sister who put friends over family. She risked losing her sister's trust... when she was just beginning to feel like her relationship with Kylie was improving and her younger sister was becoming open with her again. It was a no-win situation, and Kendall had to remind herself that Grace was the only one out of the three who didn't know Nicki was talking about Kylie, and keep her mouth shut when she automatically felt inclined to snap back at Grace for the "ugly slut" comment. She couldn't blame Grace for that, and she didn't want Grace to know it was Kylie, but she also wanted to tell Nicki that she knew it was Kylie in private, too. That was why she nodded, albeit clearly with some distress, when Nicki asked if they could talk about this some other time. She needed time to figure out how she wanted to deal with this on her end, too, and as she could feel her chest tightening with the stress of it all, her first instinct was to want to confide in Brody about it all. Let him be the big brother. Let him handle it.

____________________________________
Reality was beginning to set in for the first time since they broke up a week ago, that things were now different between her and Brody. She had noticed it before, in small ways like not sleeping with him every night like she was used to, or at least talking on the phone with him before bed, or waking up to texts from him in the morning. Their plans to fly out to Mexico together had understandably been altered, and the way that Ariana had envisioned the summer going had been changed drastically too, but standing here in the kitchen of the house of the girl who she blamed for ruining their relationship, Ariana could no longer deny that this hurt. Whatever this feeling was... be it pure sadness, or anger, or guilt, or jealousy, or more likely, a combination of all of those... it made her skin feel like it was crawling. It made her stomach churn and her throat feel like it was closing up. Brody was no longer hers. He hadn't been hers for longer than she knew. For once in her life, she hadn't been enough for someone. She hadn't been the best... the person that no one could top or turn down. She was... replaceable. She had been replaced.

With that on her mind, it made it more difficult for her to make an effort to corral Kendall into remaining with her rather than going outside with the other girls, both of whom Ariana wasn't particularly fond of. Her brother and Scott left too, with the latter receiving a distracted hello from Ariana before he left with Chris. Soon after Brody had come in, Andre was leaving, and that left her alone, just for a minute, with the two remaining Jenners. EJ's presence changed that, and by the time that he showed up, Ariana had finished plating the foods she desired, but she wasn't quite ready to go outside yet. She didn't know if she would ever be ready to go outside, honestly, because suddenly, the atmosphere in the kitchen had her questioning why she had been so stupid to think that coming on this trip was a good idea at all. If it had been anyone other than Kylie and EJ in the room with her and Brody, she wouldn't have said anything, but since it was just them, she looked to Brody and softly requested, "Wait in here with me, for a minute?" Though Kylie and EJ were both young adults now, Ariana would forever see them as being children, and therefore, their opinions and even capabilities to understand what was going on automatically seemed less significant. She wouldn't have wanted Kendall or Scott, or Nicki or Chris to see her seeking out Brody, being vulnerable, but she didn't mind if EJ or Kylie heard, really, because their opinions seemed irrelevant. She wasn't, however, dumb enough to say anything more than that with them in the room, though. That was the entire point of asking Brody to stay for a minute - so that they could talk once the younger duo went outside.
