All through the globe there are people who can do abnormal things. Sometimes they are regular humans just born different, other times just a freaky accident with toxic waste, and very few of them are not from earth. They hide who they are, pretend to be normal and blend in with everyone else. Not in Violet City though. In Violet City there are such people who want to use their abilities to get their revenge on a City that has wronged them.

xxxxA man, known only as Doctor Smith, who was born with the ability to infuse objects with incredible energy, is at the center of Violet City's troubles. He doesn't talk of the horrors he's endured. However he does talk often of his hatred for humanity, so he's rounded up the angry, the forgotten and the mistreated. He took the already supernatural and infused them with even more power and energy. He calls them 'The Guardians' and have set them on Violet City to cause havoc and pain.

xxxxThat's where the Superhero Squad comes in. A catchy name given to them by the public, they fight back against the Guardians. Connor Mason (FC: Jesse Williams) founded the group with FC: Cora Keegan, and collected the rest of the misfits to create a rag tag bunch. Of course since then they've become much more established and are even working with Violet City's Council to put a stop to The Guardians siege on the city.

“Go.”

The single word, uttered into a communication device, set in motion an explosion of activity—quite literally. A small explosive device went off in the western part of the building, taking town a large chunk of the wall but not much else, and it was into the crevasse this created that Dominus gestured for Hellfire to precede him, ducking in after her and leaving several men behind to keep the exit route secure. At the same time, he knew, Riley and James would be entering through the front door, taking steps to usher out most of the bank’s occupants and hold the rest hostage, as a deterrent against aggressive police action.

Even with that considered, though, there was a definite time limit on what they could do. Since he had no interest in negotiating with the police or actually harming the hostages, they’d have to be quick about this. Turning sharply left down a hallway in the back of the bank, Dominus came face to face with a security guard, who looked surprised to see two strangers there.

Reacting quickly, he sent a short pulse of energy in the form of electricity into the man’s torso, acting much like a taser, and the security guard collapsed on the ground. “The vault is through here. Don’t bother with the panel, just get us through the door.” If anyone could manage a task like that, it would be Caclia, with her superheated flames. He knew she occasionally had issues with how well she could control them, but he was confident that with the ability to focus on what she was doing, she’d manage well, and in the meantime, he’d keep anyone from interrupting her work.

They made it to the vault door, which according to the specifications they’d studied, was roughly two feet thick and made of reinforced titanium. Calculations had estimated it would take Hellfire five minutes to get through, and from there, what they needed would be rather simple to access, so time was essential. They had planned in broad strokes, because it was impossible to account for all the potential factors that could come up in a situation like this. So it was best not to have any plan that might hinder their ability to adapt. Everyone knew what their roles were, and he had to trust them to execute those responsibilities according to the circumstances.

He could hear the distant sound of a siren—someone had managed to alert the authorities, and it seemed that time had started in earnest.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, we are tonight's entertainment," James sang as he entered the front door, ignoring the screams as the building shook from the explosion that Dominus had caused in order to get to the real objective. He took a knife and made a few quick cuts on his arms. There was a time where he would flinch at the sudden pain from doing that, but now, it barely registered as an itch in his mind. He grinned and shot a few globs of blood in the air as though they were bullets. What was the point of being a villain if you didn't do it in style.

"Hey, 2008 called. It said to leave its movies alone," a man shouted at him. James laughed. He was glad someone got the reference, but he couldn't let that stand could he. He shot another blood bullet, but he made sure slow it so it didn't do any real damage. It hit the man on the forehead and he fell backward, unconscious.

"Well, that was fun... Now, for the hostages... Hmm, we'll let you go and you and you. Oh, we'll keep you and you," he stated, gesturing for the people he selected to leave while keeping a few random people as hostages as John instructed. He grinned over at Riley.

"Come on, Freak. This is fun!" he said manically, ignoring the looks of the people around him as they came to the conclusion that he was insane.

Caclia stepped through the crevasse that the explosion had created. She walked with Dominus quietly towards the vault. Both of them knew the plan and both were ready to execute it to the utmost degree. As they turned the corner, a surprised security man looked at them. Dominus quickly disable him, before showing the way to the vault.

Eager to burn something, even if it would take a bit, Caclia placed her hands just above the large vault door. It would not take much focus to use her dark fire, but rather to keep it contained. While she was experienced in using her dark fire as projectiles, using it as more of a laser beam was something new to her. If she lost focus the dark fire might spread to a wall, or even Dominus. Burning the boss would not be good.

She also had to focus on how much energy she put into the fire. Too much and the vault might not be burned the whole way. Too little and it would take longer than any of them would want. Time was precious, especially to Dominus. Their plan to rob the bank was not elaborate by any means, but they had planned their entry and escape for a reason. Now that they had entered, the real work began. She thought briefly of James and Riley, otherwise known as Bloodmaster and Freak, holding hostages. She as well as Dominus was confident in their abilities to maintain the civilians.

After her brief thoughts of James and Riley, Caclia began to focus intensely on the task at hand. Keeping her hands over the vault, she bombarded it with a steady stream of dark fire. The purple flames danced over the vault door and around her hands. It hissed as it began to burn the reinforced titanium, glowing a dark purple. Caclia glanced at Dominus, making sure he was far enough away that he wouldn't be burnt by the intense heat of her flames.

She could hear sirens in the distance, but ignored them. She was confident in herself as a fighter and in the Fifth Column. If anybody tried to stop them, Dominus would know what to do. In the event that he didn't, which was ever so slight, the remain three members of the Fifth Column were well equipped to handle any kind of threat that came at them.

Connor was just finishing up making a batch of pancakes for the group when he got the call. The Superhero Apartment's land-line phone started ringing in its usual high pitched squeal. Everyone in the Squad knew what that sound meant. Only one person had the number for the apartment's land-line, and they only used it for one reason. Super Villains. Connor immediately stopped making pancakes and picked up the phone with serious intent. When it came to stopping villains he didn't joke around.

Liam was on the other end. Liam was the Mayor's assistant, and it was always him who called them. He didn't say much, he enver did. Connor liked that about him, because when there was an emergency that didn't need to talk much. Connor only needed the details. Today it was the Reapers, robbing a bank. Connor took down the address quickly and then rushed around the complex rounding up the members of the Squad who were there.

No doubt they would have of heard the phone ring as it sounded throughout the whole place so that they would never miss a call. Connor took it on himself to make sure to get them ready to go. Then he sent the missing members a text with the address and the word 'Reapers'. Though he wished that everyone would have done as he suggested and took to living in the apartment. It would make it so much easier if they all lived together.

Connor and the Squad who were there took the car they had ready for these occasions to the banks address. All up they were there in under five minutes. Which is impressive, but they have had plenty of practice at quick reaction speeds. The police had already set up a perimeter around the bank by the time they got there. Connor immediately made his way over to the Constable McMahn who the Squad usually dealt with. "So what's the situation here."

"Oh, I am glad to see you guys," Constable McMahon said the Squad. "So we got eyes on Blood and The Freak in the front with a small group of hostages. No sign of Dominus and Hellfire, but we have word of a small explosion from the western part of the building."

"Well, those two will be going for the vault," Connor said definitively. He didn't need eyes on them to know how they worked. Connor also knew whatever plan they came up with, he'd be going straight for Dominus and Hellfire, they were always his true targets. He looked to his team for their suggestions on tackling this situation.

Rebecca groaned as the light escaped through her blinds, hitting her eyes. Rolling onto her side, she blinked a few times to adjust her eyes to the light. As she fumbled around for her phone, she groaned yet again at the bright light when she unlocked it, blinding her temporarily. It's too early to be awake, she thought to herself as she lay on her bed in silence, occasionally sighing to herself. Finally after what seemed like hours but was only a few minutes, she forced herself onto her feet and stretched, yawning.

She scanned her bedroom and rolled her eyes at her messy closet. Eris had gone through it once more regardless of Rebecca's constant complains. Well she would have to clean it up later and get a lock for it if she ever remembered. Shuffling around her room, her fingers grazed at the wooden compartment and shelves that held her books and nick knacks. With a smile she took out an old dusty book, The Whisperer and flicked through it casually. It had been one of her old favorites that she had found whilst backpacking across the city when she moved out. Most of the books didn't belong to her, rather she had found them along the way and picked up the habit of collecting them. A large variety of the books happened to be in different languages and some were so old that she never touched them, in fear of it getting destroyed.

She put the book back again and decided it was time to take a cold shower. Rebecca had always hated long showers, and was more of a bath person but that happened rarely. Washing her hair with a fruity scented shampoo she had stolen from Eris Rebecca quickly finished up, walking into her room with nothing but a towel. Of course the girl had quickly regretted her decision as she began to freeze, shivering whilst her hair was still drenched. Her eyes fell upon the dirty laundry which was piling up, and with a sigh she noted to have to get them washed before she ran out of clothes to wear. Rebecca thankfully found a clean pair of ripped jeans and pulled on a shirt to match.

Rebecca looked back at her clock, noting that it was still fairly early and decided on a little outdoor adventure. Slipping on a pair of her boots, she opened her bedroom door and walked along the corridor, being quiet just in case her fellow superhero's were sleeping. Opening a random window, she poked her head out, a gush of wind slapping her face. Like always she simply slipped out of the window, standing carefully on the ledge and focused on feeling 'light'. Before she knew it she had changed her body's gravity and began to float upwards, where it looked to others that she was walking up the tall building. Humming to herself, Rebecca made it to the roof the building in no time and centered her gravity back to normal, feeling a small amount of pressure in her body at the change.

"Let's get my blood pumping eh?" Rebecca told herself, and with that she jumped across to the next building's roof.

*

After a few hours of getting her blood going, she received a text from Connor with an address. With a sigh she walked to the edge of the roof of the random building she was on. She looked down and with a smile jumped down without a seconds thought. Rebecca landed safely on the ground and her center of gravity changed to allow her to make the safe journey. She wasn't too far from the address and made it there within a few minutes where she saw the squad. She quietly stood next to Eris and listened to the plan.

"We need to get the hostages out safely Connor." She spoke out.

Folding Leaves Full Album | Message To Bears

Eris sat on her bed in her room, staring at the Rubik's Cube floating in front of her. In the background, Eris' favourite band that day, Message To Bears, happily chirped away. As Eris stared, the Rubik's Cube moved, rotating slowly as the pieces slid back into the right places. Her fingers tapped her skinny jeans as it moved, hardly breathing and not blinking at all. Her hazel eyes were intense and wide, and she was biting her lip as the Cube hovered and turned.

Slowly, but surely, the Cube was coming together. The pieces slid together, albeit slowly, and Eris let out a slow breath. Her finger tapped to the beat of the music, and once again it moved.

Ring ring!

Eris' expression faltered for just a second in surprise, and the Cube dropped onto the bed, before rolling onto the floor. "Dammit!" She muttered, touching her nose with her fingers. They came back bloody. Sniffing, Eris pinched her nose and grabbed a tissue, holding it there until the blood stopped. "Stupid phone." She muttered again, before her eyes lit up. The phone had rang! That meant...

"We got a mission!" Eris yelled at the top of her voice, placing the tissue in the bin. She did a once over in the mirror, making sure that the long jumper - a short one on poor Rebecca - didn't have any blood on it, before dancing out of her room. She spotted Connor on the phone, and grinned at him, pretty much bouncing.

Connor and the others headed to the car, and Eris tailed them. She could hear the buzzing of their minds, but blocked it out, focusing on the task at hand. So many thoughts were bouncing around her own skull, it was hard to concentrate. She just hoped that something bad would not happen - even though it was completely inevitable.

The car ride was bumpy and uncomfortable, but it was soon over. Eris could hear alarm bells ringing, and the screams of people's minds calling out for help. It was so bad she clasped her hands over her ears and winced every time something new came through. "This isn't supposed to happen..." She whined quietly. She couldn't help wondering if John was around - she knew he was inside, but his presence always affected her somewhat. This time it appeared to be amplification.

"We need to get the hostages out safely Connor." Rebecca spoke up from beside her. Eris flinched slightly, before giving her arm a squeeze. She was nervous, admittedly, but wouldn't let anyone else know. "I can do it. I can fit in the vents to get in." She volunteered, letting go of Rebecca. She projected to both Connor and Rebecca at the same time. "Just get me away from the police. And don't make me go near John. He's making my head weird already." She knew she had probably overcompensated, seeing that her powers were hypersensitive, so it had probably sounded like shouting to Connor and Rebecca. However, she was ready. Ready to do her part for the good of the people - and not as a guinea pig.

The word 'Go' rung in his ear. With that single word, Riley ambled into the bank, morphing into a monster before the civilians' eyes'. Bones cracking, organs shifting, teeth and claws extracting, and clothes shredding at their seams. The process wasn't painful—for the moment. Years of shifting and adrenaline masked the suffering that is morphing. Now-a-days, he can mostly feel the aches and pains after he's shifted back to his normal state. It's kind of like having been in a car accident, or at least, that's how he would describe the after affect feeling. Though the worst part is that he has lost a lot of really good shirts because of his ability.

Riley began snarling at the frightened civilians, causing them to take steps back away from him and the exit. All the while James was putting on a show and picking out hostages. Riley wasn't there to pick out who went and who stayed. He just kept the civilians at bay and made sure that not too many—preferably not any—of them got away. He could care less if they held a small child hostage, it wasn't like they were gonna hurt them anyway—well at least not unless Dominus ordered it.

Riley kept walking around the hostages. His beast-like features made it seem like he was an animal prowling or guarding food. His eyes glanced over to James grinning at him. He didn't respond to the man's words and even if he had wanted to respond he would just be grunting like an animal. Instead he turned his back from the other and looked out one of the many bank's windows. He could see the flashing red and blue lights though they weren't as bright as they would be in the dark. The sirens had annoyed his ears. His ears perked up. Turning around, quickly, he flashed his teeth and growled at the civilian who tried to get up. The woman coward and sat down on the floor again. Riley resumed his task and, again, prowled around some of the hostages. He anticipated that, anytime soon, the superheroes would show up.

A green phone buzzed for a few seconds before lighting up with a generic envelope symbol. Simply put, it meant that there was a text message and given that it'd come from Sang-hyeok's burner phone there were only three possibilities: Connor, his dealer, or James. He wasn't into the whole superhero versus supervillain thing the same way that everyone else in Violet City appeared to be but even he knew better than to let the two lives spill together. His hand slid from the comfort of his sheets to the ugly device and punched in the pin code before his eyebrows visibly furrowed.

Reapers - Scorch

Of course it had to be those assholes from Reapers or Fifth Column or whatever the hell they wanted to call themselves this week. Of course they had to wreak havoc a mere six hours after he'd finally fallen asleep. They couldn't have waited until evening or night time as per Sang-hyeok's alias. No they needed to interrupt his routine at the most optimal of opportunities. It was like one of them knew his daily schedule or something.

Omw Sang-hyeok texted back before rolling out of his bed.

He had one copy of his psuedo-supersuit in his apartment so he decided instead of something that could blend in with the crowd while still being flexible. Fingerless gloves, cleats, and a mask were all obvious choices but when it came down to the shirt and pants he had...a tougher decision. Would he attempt maximum coverage in case of Hellfire's burns or give himself more flexibility and poison exposure? Outside of his fingers and fangs, he had no reliable way of delivering his poison. He didn't like the idea of milking his poison to make bombs and he wouldn't touch any of the villains with a ten foot pole, well not unless it was to beat their faces in.

Eh if I just dodge everything it shouldn't be a problem, he shrugged as he grabbed a performance jersey and a pair of jeans.

After an Uber ride and short walk, he caught up with Rebecca, Eris, and Connor who were debating how to secure the hostage while still taking down the others. Eris offered to crawl through the vents and it seemed like a fair idea...save the fact that any of the villains could probably shred her if they caught wind of what was happening.

"If we do that someone's gonna need to draw attention from Eris and well," he gestured toward the bank, "whatever is guarding the rest of the hostages."

Alex and Max both woke up this morning on the floor. For a moment, they forgot how they got on the floor of their lab, but then they remembered what they had been working on. A new, covert sleeping dart. They got into a fight about who was a better shot, and well....it did not end well. However, they did confirm it works, which was something. They were still only dabbling in chemistry, only create simple new chemicals for their disposal. Nothing too complex, just sleeping darts, tracking darts, paralytics, one dart that would give someone the unending craving for chocolate. They had not gotten to the more complicated stuff, like poison gases, genetic altering serums, or so on. The complicated stuff was very hard to find a purpose for anyways.

The sleeping darts had been used to help them get into NASA's storage facility undetected yesterday. Normally, that would be villain territory, but NASA's servers were not connected to the internet, and they needed that data for Rebeca. They needed to know if NASA had any data reguarding UFOs around the time Rebeca "appeared on Earth", more or less, as well as any flightpaths or unexplained distortions. Plus, it would help them compile their Galaxy Map. And they did ask NASA for the data. NASA said no. Very rudely, too. They insulted them when they said no. "Get lost, shrimps" is what they said. And then they laughed at them behind their backs. Then, Max went back as Gizmo, and they STILL said no! TO a superhero! NASA was apparently extremely rude. So, they forced their hands. At the very least though, they got the data now. And no one remembered or knew what happened.

Anyways, this new dart was smaller now, and more expendable. So it would be totally worth i.....

When Alex and Max woke up for a second time, they looked at each other puzzled. Only twenty minutes had gone by. "Did we accidentally create a chemical that knocks you out twice?"

"I think so" Alex answered. "Though, the second time is significantly shorter".

"How did we do that?" Max questioned.

"Chemistry is clearly not our forte. That should have never happened".

"Agreed" Max mentioned, taking the dart out of his neck. "Still a better shot though".

"Are not".

"Are too".

"Are not".

"Are too".

This went on for awhile, until they saw that Connor texted them. Apparently, they had been unconscious at the time he did. Alex got the Gizmo suit, while Max got the control matrix. Essentially, Max would set up a sort of mobile command post, and work with drone deployments and so on and work from a position that would let him survey the whole area, while Alex would go in and get a close eye on the situation. They would stay in contact to help synchronize their actions.

When the two got on scene, Max made sure not to be seen, but headed up to the highest rooftop in the area that gave him good coverage, and stayed in contact with everyone via the communicators. "Testing, Testing. Can't we ever get a day off?"

"Just get the drones into position. Make sure to establish a perimeter so they cant escape" Alex told him, as he met up with Connor. "So, what is the situation? Sorry I am late, but....well, lets just say a certain someone refused to admit he was wrong".

"WHAT!?! I was right! I hit you first, and my shot was way more accurate!"

"Was not!"

"Was too!"

"Was not!"

"Was too!"

Luckily, before Connor had to stop them, the drones finished their scans. "Okay, so here is the deal. Below the bank is an abandoned subway tunnel and a really large sewer tunnel. Both lead to major hubs where they could easily disappear. Eris, I am sending details of the ventilation systems to you and my brother, because you two are the only ones able to fit. Connor, there is a potential entrance slash exit between the bank and the building next door, the building next door is doing renovations so the walls are weaker, and they might be able to blow a hole through. Additionally, there are ten armored civilian vehicles on the street, but given the fact of how...destructive our fights get sometimes, its possible these are just civilian vehicles who thought getting armored vehicles was cheaper then getting them repaired all the time. Now, there is still the obvious exit of the front, and these people might just be insane enough to try it, so I have a sonic rifle pointed at the front door from my location. YOu know, being the better shot and all".

Alex flinched. "I am the better shot".

"Are not".

"Are too".

And, this just went on until someone stopped them.

"This isn't supposed to happen..." Erin whined a little from behind Connor. He turned and saw her looking a little uncomfortable which he knew meant she was hearing a few too many thoughts. He knew John would have to be around somewhere. He scanned the area and noticed there were a lot of police around, plus all the pedestrians that hand gathered to look on. Though they'd be leaving soon when they realised it was just another Super Villain scheme. They citizens of Violet City were far too used to it.

"Focus, and try blocking them out," Connor said gently, trying to encourage her. Though he didn't know much about her abilities worked. He was just trying to help.

"We need to get the hostages out safely Connor," Rebecca said approaching him and Eris. Connor nodded in agreement, that had to be their first priority. Eris volunteered to go through the vents and get the hostages out. It sounded like an all right plan and Connor agreed that it was a job that would get here away from all these people and hopefully avoid John. He listened to Eric's input when he showed up, but before he could say anything the twins arrived, jumping into the conversation in their usual fashion. Arguing.

Surprisingly they didn't need Connor to break them up this time. He handed out the communication devices to the group and got to Max jump straight into the details he'd picked up about the building. Connor listened already formulating a plan or two in his mind. Then of course the twins fell back into arguing.

"Yeah, yeah, you're both great shots,"Connor said cutting them off. Then he wrapped an arm around Alex's head and covered his mouth with his hand to shut him up and stop him responding to his brother's taunt. "Okay. Eris do your vent thing and get the hostages out, there's an entry on the roof, Becca's going to get you up there, right?" He said looking at Rebecca, signalling for her to use her abilities to get Eris on the roof. "Let us known when you've done that and we are free to kick some villain ass."He said to Eris holding out his hand for a fist bump. "Oh and Becca, once you've done that, me and you are going to go check out the explosion and wait for the all clear."

Then Connor turned to Eric and Alex. "You're right, Eris needs a distraction. The two of you need to get in there, take the two watch guards by surprise and get them away from the hostages. Use one of the ways Max suggested or walk through the front door, I don't care." Then Connor stopped and looked straight at Eric addressing him directly, "And absolutely none of the hostages are to be harmed in friendly fire or anything."

"All right, let's go team."

Rebecca flinched ever so slightly at Eris' telepathic message due to the shear volume of it. With a hint of a smile she looked down at the girl and squeezed her shoulder for comfort. "Don't worry about a thing, Connor and I will sort that bit out," she spoke confidently with a bigger smile.

Before she knew it the boys had arrived, arguing as usual. She carefully listened to their plans before turning to Connor and noting in her head her parts. She'd have to do well with the few hours of sleep she had last night from the insomnia that resurfaced from when she was younger.

"Oh and Becca, once you've done that, me and you are going to go check out the explosion and wait for the all clear."

Rebecca gave a swift nod and looked at Eris, "You ready to fly?" She joked, well it almost seemed like flying although it was more floating than anything. Once Eris had given her the thumps up, she let her index finger touch Eris' forehead, concentrating on shifting both their center of gravity. Touch wasn't always necessarily when Rebecca wanted to do this on other people, but it made it a hell a lot safer and safety was important for Eris.

With a smile she held onto Eris' hand, out of mere comfort because it can be a little bit overwhelming at first. Those who haven't experienced it tend to feel an immense pressure build up rather than the stereotypical feeling of thinking you'd just be weightless. They still had weight, it was just shifted from the Earth's gravitation pull to allow them to rise. After around 5 minutes the two landed on the roof, Rebecca making sure Eris landed first as she was keeping her safe from behind just in case.

"Okay you'll feel a little bit dizzy and yeah your ears will be ringing for a bit, just hold on it will pass...just your body adjusting back to normal."

Rebecca looked around the roof, ensuring that they were alone. "The entrance is right in front of you, let me know if anything goes wrong or if you just want some reassurance, my mind is always open," she laughed quietly. With a wave goodbye, she walked back to the edge of the building and with a deep breath jumped off.

Falling of a building is something Rebecca has never gotten used to and although she doesn't have to try and change her gravitation as it comes naturally and her body does it automatically, the sense of fear is real. Without a wobble she landed safely and made her way to Connor.

"Connor, let's go."

It wasn't long before the others turned up. First, the arrival of Gizmo - the twin boys that were the only other people she knew that were even relatively close to her age - was very obvious. They practically came arguing, and Eris clasped her hands to her ears again, muttering "Shut up, shut up, shut up." She knew that they couldn't hear her, they were too busy bickering to hear Eris, so even Rebecca and Connor couldn't hear her. Finally, someone stopped them, and Eris took her hands off her ears.

"Focus, and try blocking them out," Connor told her gently, and Eris did her best to not scowl. She was trying, of course she was, but she was having a mental overload. She imagined closing all the links to everyone around her, but it just made the voices quieter, as if there was a dull buzzing in the back of her skull. It was better, at least. Eris sighed, exhausted already. Not only had she pushed herself already, but holding certain links open while others was closed was a lot of work, and it was giving her a headache. She rubbed her temples, trying to concentrate.

Then Eric turned up, before inputting that Eris would need a distraction to get it. She rolled her eyes. She hated to admit it, but it was true. She would need a way in, although she did have a few tricks up her sleeve to distract them herself.

After Connor gave the all clear, and she had fist bumped him for good measure, Eris headed over to Rebecca, before holding onto her arm again. She joked about flying, but Eris wasn't really listening. She was trying to push the screaming out of her head again. She nodded slightly, staring forwards towards the bank, trying to see inside. She could see a huge, cat-like creature, and red globules whizzing around inside. A few seconds later and the screaming started up. "Someone went down." She muttered absently, chewing her nails and looking forward still. Finally, Eris returned to her senses and turned to Rebecca with a smile. She touched her forehead and the sinking and twisting feeling in her stomach finally came to life, before Rebecca took her hand. She squeezed it affectionately, as she knew it was for comfort. Eris took a deep breath and kicked off the ground, in a sort of jumping motion, except she rose much higher into the air, as the gravity was shifted. Eris' ears popped painfully, and she winced slightly. It was nothing compared to the headache she was getting.

Eventually, Rebecca had directed them to the rooftop, and Eris let out a huge breath when she touched down and felt Earth's gravity regain it's grip on her body. Her ears popped once again, and the intense pulling feeling made her legs feel weak. She stumbled forwards slightly, but Rebecca was there, which made Eris immediately straighten up and try to regain her balance. After a few seconds, Rebecca waved goodbye and jumped off. Eris wasn't worried. She could hear her fear as she fell safely.

Eris examined her surroundings until she saw the opening of the vent. Hurrying over, she tugged at it, before becoming disappointed to find that it was screwed on tight. Frowning slightly, she concentrated for a few seconds, before the bolts flew off and the vent fell towards her with a slight clatter. Smiling to herself, Eris eased herself in and began crawling.

The maze of silver stretched out in front of her, but even from inside the vents she could hear the growling of the cat-creature. She followed it, before hearing whispering and an intense heat. She decided to pass by just as her ears started ringing with a stupidly high pitched tone. Ignoring it, she continued on. John was probably right below her, and she didn't want to encounter him right now. She had a job to do.

She kept crawling until she came to a grate in the vent. It was obviously in the ceiling of the hostage room, as she could see the armour plating on the cat creature, and the top of the blond boy's head. A few of the hostages caught her eye, but Eris gave them a quick gesture to shut them up. They ignored her after that.

Eris then had an idea. The others weren't in there yet, but Eris had no doubt that they were coming. So, she shouted. Mentally, of course. "Oi! Suckers! Over here!" She began with, stifling her giggles with a hand. Then, after a moment of recklessness passed in her mind, she smashed the glass away from the civilians and towards the villains, before flicking them with the little bits of glass. Finally, she flicked the alarm switch with a quick mental motion, before crawling towards the bottom end of the vents to ground level. Now, she'd have to wait, and hope that what she'd done was enough to confuse them before the main guns came barrelling in.

Alex listened, and watched, and protested having his mouth covered, but none of that was more annoying then when Eris and Rebecca left. Without him. After Connor told them both to go in. He could hear Max snickering in the background. So, Alex climbed up a building, and used his grappling hook to get over there. He was still ticked off they left him there.

Meanwhile, Max was examining the area while keeping the sonic rifle aimed. "Okay you two, listen up. I am not entirely sure, but parts of this bank don't match the original blueprints. I am sure it will be fine though. Eris, Alex, whatever you do, don't go left at the second intersection. It will litterally take you over the villians. And if you take the third right....well, you wind up in the garbage".

"Okay, any other tips?" Alex asked.

"Uhhh.....well, its probably nothing....but one of the safety deposit boxes in that bank belonged to Bombardo, that crazy villain from twenty years ago that liked to make bombs that once it detected heavy vibrations started counting down till...well boom. Anyways, apparently no one bothered to open it....but, I am sure you will be fine!"

As Alex followed Eris in, he had serious doubts. Then, something came to him. The lights. The moment Eris broke the glass and and launched it at the villains, Alex shut down the lights so they wouldn't be able to see. Meanwhile, Max set the sonic rifle to its highest setting, enabled thermal vision, and shot at them with the sonic rifle, through a wall, while still able to see them thanks to thermal vision.

Max also tasked all the drones to prevent any of the villains from escaping through any of the exits. If they tried, the drones would be there to slow them down till they could arrive.

When Connor gave the signal, Eric turned toward the fire manipulator, rolling his eyes behind his mask.

"I'm a vigilante not a savage."

Besides I'm not the one who sets things on fire for a power.

He pulled his hood over and gestured for Gizmo (rather Alex in Gizmo's suit) to go forward. Though young, the twins managed to figure out a way to be physically on par with any of the other supers that inhabited Violet City. It was admirable, even if Sang-hyeok never particularly related to him. He never had much affection for engineering or robotics and the closest he ever got to figuring out computers worked was a summer IT job when he was a teenager. Not terrible for a sophomore, but nothing exciting considering that most of his advice came out to "have you tried turning it on and off again?". These guys though? They were actually putting their brains to use in saving the city and one day they might grow into something more than twin brats.

For now he had a nice, metal shield controlled by a prepubescent...or so he thought until Alex departed with Rebecca and Eris.

"Guess I'll be a one man show today" he shrugged as he stretched his fingers, "and I'll be damned if anyone shows me up."

He wasn't good at these sorts things: strategies, tactics, macro play (as Starcraft II players called it) so he was probably pulling most of it out of his ass; however, he was a performer. He knew how to get people's attention and keep it, even if it meant playing the fool.

Without a word he sprinted up the steps and slammed the door open (rather easy considering that they were wooden), coming face to face with concerned citizens, some collapsed (hopefully not dead) guards, and well...not very much light. His night vision made it easy to spot everyone (any prowling villains included) but he was still cautious enough to keep his back against the wall.

"Sorry I'm late everyone. These nutjobs are getting more and more common these days."

Connor watched Rebecca and Eris go up, and then Rebecca return alone. It was an impressive feat by Rebecca. "Connor, let's go." She said as she returned to the ground. Connor nodded leading them away from the entrance of the bank and towards where the explosion came from. Poking his head around trying to do some subtle surveillance, he saw that it was like Max had said. Dominus had used some form of explosion to crack open the wall joining the bank to the place next door that was currently being renovated.

He turned to Rebecca suddenly grinning at himself, unable to hold in his thought. "Hey, Bec, after this want to go to this hole-in-the-wall bar I heard of?" He asked whispering, whilst grinning at his own bad joke. No matter the situation, he just couldn't help himself.

Connor poked his head around the corner again and noted four people standing around the explosions sight. He recognised them immediately at Dominus' guys. Connor looked over to Rebecca, much more serious this time, "I'll take the two on the left, you go for the two on the right." He said pointing to the men guarding the hole in the wall. He was confident him and Rebecca could take them, though the issue would be hopefully getting the two of them before they could get any word out.

Connor ran out of his hiding place, throwing a few balls of fire towards the group hoping to throw them off balance before he focused on his two guys, a tall red head man and a stocky brunette woman. Both of whom had managed to avoid his previous fireballs. Though the brunette had landed on the ground when she dived away. Connor made a circle of fire around the redhead, capturing him for the time being as he turned to the brunette. Connor ran over to her, putting a knee in her back to stop her getting up off the ground. When the woman struggled however Connor knocked her hard over the head, successfully knocking her unconscious.

Though when Connor got back up he felt the wind get knocked out of him. He looked across in surprise to find the redhead had gotten out of his ring of flames and had just kicked him in the gut. Connor immediately switched, his anger at being taken by surprise getting the best of him as he encapsulated the redhead in flames. He held the man in flames until he heard him scream which brought him out of his anger. He immediately released the redhead who fell to the ground. Connor hadn't meant to hurt the guy that much, but he didn't feel much guilt about it, the guy was lightly singed, he'd be fine.

Then Connor turned to Rebecca. "So, I suppose they know we're here," he said nodding to the crack in the wall. Whoever was on the other side had definitely heard that scream. He hoped it was Dominus and Hellfire, he wanted to take them head on.

It didn’t take long for John to catch on to the fact that there were new parties involved. Though the back half of the bank ran on a separate generator for security’s sake (the reason they didn’t just cut the power themselves), he received communication that the front part's lights had been somehow turned off, which meant that some combination of "open the damn curtains, you idiot" and night-vision equipment were necessary--but turn the detection mechanism on so someone didn't just switch them back on an blind you. Fortunately, most of his people were smart enough to figure this kind of thing out on their own. What was more, he could already sense the Psychic nearby. Nothing terribly bad was happening yet—her interference with his powers only occurred sometimes, and he was swiftly learning to adapt to the unexpected there, something that may have been easier for him because of the inherent flexibility of his repertoire.

Still, it would take them time to reach himself and Hellfire, something that he was counting on. They were going to need every second.

The screaming had just begun when Hellfire got through the vault door. The opening was a little smaller than he would have liked, but it was workable. An application of energy created something of a forcefield, and he molded it as close to his skin as possible. As he ducked into the opening Caclia had created, a glob of molten metal fell onto the shield and sizzled. Fortunately, it did nothing more than that.

The vault was relatively large inside, but John knew what he was looking for, and was able to locate it immediately, ducking back out of the vault in time to hear the screaming cease. Apparently, one of his people had been dealt a grave injury, and though his face remained impassive, he had to suppress the urge to grit his teeth. It was true that they were in a high-risk occupation, to be sure, but he still didn’t like knowing any of his people were injured. Skilled operatives willing to follow his rules were hard to come by—most of them already worked for the establishment, and convincing people that a revolution was necessary was a difficult task in the best of circumstances.

He drew even with Caclia just as two of the Superhero Squad’s members rounded the corner—Scorch and 0G. Still without a change in expression, John internally cringed. He really didn’t like running into Rebecca during work, but he was more than anything a professional, and she understood the difference between work and everything else in life. Scorch had it out for him, but this wasn’t unexpected, considering.

That said, there wasn’t any love lost between he and Caclia either. “Hellfire?” John was the more versatile combatant; he would take the task she didn’t want, though the point was to get through these two and get out as quickly as possible, rather than to actually stay there and fight them to a conclusion. With a sleight-of-hand gesture, he depressed a button on a small device on his wrist, which would send a signal to the others—package acquired, extract yourselves asap. Those still standing outside would be away first, and provide support for the departing Fifth Column as well.

Caclia stepped aside as John stepped into the vault to retrieve what he needed. She could hear screams from the human operatives as they encountered at least one of the superheroes. She hoped that it wasn't Psychic or Gizmo. Despite being on Earth for almost a year, she still saw children as oddities. She didn't have any remorse for fighting against them, but she did feel that the conflict between the Fifth Column and the Superhero Squad was no place for them. They should be in school, shouldn't they?

Keeping her eyes on the corner, Caclia heard John crawl out of the vault just as Scorch and 0G rounded the corner. She grinned at them. These two were her favourites to fight against. While Rebecca could be a challenge due to her constant gravity shifting, she tended to avoid Caclia's fire at all costs. Rightly so, but her obvious discomfort with fire made Caclia's job a bit easier. It was less attacking and more dodging on 0G's part.

Connor however, was also fun to toy with. Given that he couldn't harm her with his own fire, she also had an advantage over him. Of course, she wasn't allowed to kill him but a light burn was always good for character building. Plus, if the two exchanged fire Rebecca would hopefully leave sooner. Caclia had a bone to pick with the Ildi race, which in her mind included Connor. She made her choice.

Twitching her fingers slightly, Caclia created a small ball of dark fire. She looked at the two superheroes, then threw the ball towards them. Manipulating the ball, which had been created with minimal energy and thus would not do much damage, she aimed it right in between Scorch and 0G. She then maneuvered it to fly over Scorch's head. It was far enough away from him that there was no chance that he would be hit by it, but he would still feel its heat.

As she glanced over at John to make sure he understood, she created another fireball. Turning her gaze to Connor, she smiled at him. This would be a fun fight as always. She threw the fireball from her right hand before creating another in her left and throwing it. Again, they were created with minimal energy and would not do too much harm if they hit him. The two fireballs wouldn't hit Connor unless he moved too close to the wall, which was where she was aiming.

Knowing that John could handle himself and that Rebecca was scared of her, Caclia charged at Connor. In case 0G decided to intercept her, the alien tossed a dark fire ball her way and continued running. She had no intention of running into him, just as she had no intention of burning him or Rebecca (unless necessary of course). Instead, she was aiming to run past him in order to give everyone more room to fight. Being away from the vault also meant that there were more escape routes for her, since the one they had planned didn't look like it would work right now. Regardless, they wouldn't be able to leave until they had gotten past the Superhero Squad.

Hey, Bec, after this want to go to this hole-in-the-wall bar I heard of?" Connor had joked and with a hint of a smile she shrugged, she could really use a shot of vodka right now.

It wasn't long before Connor had become serious and she too was alert, after all they both had to be on the safe side. With a firm nod she headed out towards the two men on her right. Confidently she strolled in, winking flirtatiously at the handsome blonde. If only I didn't have to mess up that pretty little face of his, she thought with a smirk. Without hesitation she decreased the gravity around the blondie which rendered him pretty useless as he could hardly move. Moving her index finger upwards he proceeded to float upwards and stayed there, his anger flashing across his eyes. The shorter dark headed man rushed towards her, punching her across the face with enough force to cause her to jump backwards.

Rebecca rolled her eyes, her upper lip slightly swollen due to the force. "Calm down, I'll give you some attention too shorty." With that she used her gravity force to repulse him backwards against the wall at such a shattering force that regardless of how much he tried, he wouldn't be able to move...at least for a few days. Sighing gently she walked towards the blonde man who was still floating around and raised her eyebrows at his anger. "It sucks doesn't it? Trust me I was stuck like that for a good few hours when I first figured out I could do that..." she tilted her head ever so slightly for a better view "just think 'light' and you'll be fine."

She walked towards Connor who had dealt with his two, "So, I suppose they know we're here. Rebecca looked over at the crack on the wall and with a sigh as her response wondered whether they'd have to deal with them quickly. Biting her upper lip and then immediately regretted that decision she internally groaned at the thought of having to see John. Regardless of them drawing the line between work and life, it was incredibly awkward and just plain cringe worthy.

It was as if her body knew that Hellfire was around the corner and automatically she dodged her fireballs. Rebecca groaned quietly, half due to the tiredness kicking in and half to do with having to deal with fire. It was such an inconvenience for her these days and although Connor had been helping her out, which has helped her a considerable amount, a fear was still a fear. Quickly she surrounded herself with a gravitational field to protect herself but also to amplify her strength which was helpful in situations like these.

Rebecca could tell that Hellfire was aiming for Connor and as she glanced towards him she signaled to him to ask whether he needed help or not. Otherwise she'd go ahead a look for John who had probably taken something from the vault. Something they probably had to take back from him. She changed the center of her body's gravity so that her steps were lighter, that she could almost walk along the walls if needed. She also thought of Eris and tried to send a thought of to her, you okay Eris?.

Okay. Darkness and distraction. Those were valid tactics even if they pissed James off. He would rather take on an opponent of five out in the open rather than fumble around in the dark. He frowned slightly. That girl sounded familiar, but before he could think on it, he was forced to conjure a shield of bloody goo to block the shards of glass sent his way.

"Pfft... I'm not going to fall to amateur tricks," he boasted. Of course, that was when he heard a sonic boom and he felt himself fly back into a wall. He groaned before standing up, stretching a little as his healing factor allowed himself to adjust.

"Now, that wasn't nice," he growled, sending a bunch of blood bullets in the direction the sonic boom came from before another person joined the fray. It sounded like Nightcrawler. He grinned.

"Last I checked, you were drunk off your ass, Nighty," he said, sending a few more bullets his way. He turned to his partner, suddenly remembering he wasn't alone.

"Hey, Freak, do you mind being my eyes or nose or whatever? I'm firing blind here. It's kind of naughty, shutting off the lights. It's as though these so-called heroes don't care if I accidentally harm someone," he said, raising his voice at the last statement.

Hear Me Now | Hollywood Undead

Eris flinched as one of the twins came to life in her ear. That was right. She had placed that comms device in her ear, opening herself up to even more noise. She shook her head and continued crawling, avoiding the garbage and toppling out from the vents on top of cat-boy and blood-dude. From there, she continued to crawl until there was a slight drop; she eased herself off of the edge and thudded lightly onto the metal below her feet. She turned to look behind her at the other twin who had followed her in - she was surprised that he fit in the vents with the huge suit on, and how he was doing so relatively quietly - or at least, how the villains below them didn't hear him clomping around. Sighing, Eris shook her head, and continued on. Back on her hands and knees, she crawled towards the vent on ground level.

At the bottom, she was stopped by a grate. Carefully using her powers, she unscrewed the vent and it clattered on the ground. In the dark, Eris stumbled forwards, sticking by the walls and trying to get herself towards some of the hostages. She could 'feel' their presence through her telekinesis. She shuffled towards the doors, with a quick push, hoping she wasn't being too loud. She could hear Sang-Hyeok making his entrance, and Blood-boy making a quick taunt back. Apparently Blood-boy knew Eric, but Eris wasn't going to question it. She patted the leg of a hostage and gestured to the door with a quick mental picture, before following it up with the vent. Unfortunately, because of the amplification effect, it probably projected to everyone in the room quite loudly - cat-boy and blood-dude included.

Eris had to stifle a whine as she heard a dripping noise on the floor. Dismayed, she touched her hand to her nose to find it was bleeding. Saying a naughty word she'd heard Rebecca say several times before, Eris pinched her nose to try and stem the flow of blood and hoped that Blood-dude hadn't realized she was bleeding, or control her blood.

"My nose is bleeding." She sent to Rebecca mentally, straining against the effort. It most likely projected to others, but Eris tried to ignore that fact. She reigned in her panic and sat next to the wall, taking a few breaths in the dark, before tapping a few of the hostages on the leg and sending more mental pictures of the vents and how to get there. At least that way, they wouldn't be blocked by the cat-creature-person. Eris could detect his very human-like thoughts, giving away it wasn't some Dire-tiger or something. Frowning to herself, she crawled back towards the vents, ignoring the sounds of her partners doing what sounded like fighting. Hurrying along, she hoped nothing would stop her.
