We’ve heard the stories; Werewolves in london, undead on the shores of the caribbean, but we never truly believed. it was always just a joke; something to scare the kids with. that all changed when - after a brief transfer to presidency - a man named Aleric Deneuve revealed that he was a mage. the earth was shaken; the stories had all been true. myths no longer stayed at the back of our minds as they should, but screamed the reality of it. Werewolves stalked the night streets, Fae broke into homes, and worse creatures haunted the woods.

the first thing that humans did, as all humans do, was to discover magic. This lead to a massive number of studies on how magic worked, leading to the creation of Heirlooms; enchanted objects tied to a family or deed. These objects could be anything from a pistol or sword to a sewing needle or spoon.
Myths had some things wrong, one of the most important being that Enchanting doesn’t just tie one specific use to an object, just a base. a sword enchanted with fire doesn’t just light on fire, it could shoot fire balls, manipulate fire, or heat with an internal fire. what happens is caused by the wielders soul

Aleric Deneuve knew that the humans and myths would be at odds, so he did the one thing that he could do; attempt to educate both sides. he did this by opening Surepath Academy; a school for legends and mortals alike. he trains them in not just the mind, but in the body and spirit as well.
