Ossia Kingsley
What once was
High Garden was truly a place of peace and tranquility. Thick forest blanketed the land inhabited by all animals alike.
House of Kingsley, the High Garden castle, sat just at the edge of the river, cradled by the sandy shore that had long ago become overrun by brush. It was here Simon Kingsley was raised, as his ancestors before him, and here he married his third wife, the golden women from across the sea. It was she who gifted Simon with his first child, a beautiful girl with olive skin and dark curls like her mother, who they called Ossia.
All was not well in the kings fairy tale, though. Days before the birth of Ossia, his lady had become deathly ill. Distraught over the possibility of losing both his beloved wife and child, Simon called upon a well known healer from his wife's land.....but she was only able to save one.
Ossia lived, and with her mothers last breath....she took her first gasp of life.
Days later, rumors of an attack fell upon the ears of Simon Kingsley. With his heath fading, Simon made the decision his wifes death would not be in vain. As luck would have it, word of Ossia's birth had not reached Godwin, and the child was believed to have been still. Using this to his advantage, Simon ordered for Vance Nightfix, the son of his Lord Commander, to take Ossia away under the darkness of the night to Winterfell, far out of the reach of Godwin, and never to return her to her home.
It was there in Winterfell Ossia became Huntley Nightfix, son of the knight Adirex Nightfix.
Raised as any young boy would, Huntley learned the ways of the sword, and dreamed on one day becoming a night. It wasn't until he reached the age of nine that Huntley realized he wasn't like the other boys. His hair was cut more often, and his voice not as firm. His limbs, although lanky, shaped differently, and he wasn't allowed to swim naked as the other boys did down at the creek....then Huntley has his first bleed.
The "boy" then learned the truth. He was Ossia Kingsley, Lady by birth....but a knight by fate. But why was she forced to hide what she was? The truth was, although Winterfell was safe from Godwin, Adirex was no fool. It's safer to travel as a boy, and a women wielding a sword isn't looked to kindly upon.
Many years have passed since young Ossia has learned the truth of her past, but she refuses to let such things shape her fate. Heavy armor and thick clothing hide the blooming of her girlish body. Still young, her face remains that of a young boy the may resemble his mother....but that is quickly changing. Her lips have begun to full out, as her cheeks narrow. Our handsome Huntley is growing into a beauty....
Although her secret remains safe, Sir Vance cautions her to stay alert. A young boy resembling a girl is dangerous.....a young girl acting as a boy is death.
