Jumping off a bicycle . . . something she’d never done or had gotten to do as a child. She’d never even learned how to ride; even if that message was suppose to be comforting, it wasn’t. Jacqli was, she was still uncomfortable within Paul’s arms, physical contact wasn’t something she might ever be able to cope with, even if the gesture in question was meant to be a kind one. Kindness, she still didn’t understand it, why it was shown to her by him, why he insisted so much with her. Even if she didn’t understand though, that . . . persistence, the fact that Paul was going out of his way to be kind toward her, it meant something, something that she just couldn’t grasp yet. She trusted him though, she had reason to; he was experienced, and he knew what he was doing, so. . . .

So, maybe there was more to all of this than she could yet comprehend, just maybe. For now, even if she couldn’t believe in herself, maybe she could believe in the fact that someone had faith in her, someone who was remarkable.

When they began to fall, Jacqli tensed up even more, a look of fear passing over her face despite the fact that she knew she was safe, the feeling of falling, she didn’t like it. A whimper came from her throat despite her attempts to keep it down, and without meaning too, Jacqli found her empty hand grasping onto Paul’s shirt tightly, knowing she’d have to let go when it was time to become a Titan.

Living in the same building as a library was quite wonderful. Instead of having to check out 50 books, Selphy could check out six or seven and return them the next day. Sometimes she would read them all, sometimes she would begin some of them and decide them not worth her time. Selphy was very picky about her books and the style in which they were written. Sometimes it was nice to see books written in different styles than most books though… Such as instead of paragraphs, a book could be written in poems. Not like Shakespeare, but Selphy was very fond of his works too. She also liked to see female protagonists. They were rare, which is partially why she liked them so much. It was very typical to find fantasy books with a male protagonist, the strong adventurous one. So, when it’s a female it adds a nice interesting twist and a slightly different prospective. Length never mattered. Selphy knew that both short and long books could captivate her. Of course, that was only if they were good books.

After having selected seven books, Selphy checked out. She was very excited to read the books, but she hoped that they were all worth her time. She was tired of picking up books with a nice description and finding the books duller than a box of rocks. Then again, boxes of rocks could indeed be interesting…

The little faerie trotted to the cafeteria to get a little breakfast. She picked out some nice, sugar coated cereal and poured her milk over it. She carried her books under her left arm and her food in her right hand. She sat in the back corner of the dining area to eat in peace as she read one of the books she picked out.

“There could never be true peace. Everyone knew it. Without war, nothing could ever truly exist. Even plants are in constant battle to obtain the most water and sunlight.” After reading the first few lines, Selphy was still unsure if she’d like the book or not. However, the little faerie was going to continue reading until she was sure she liked or didn’t like the book.

In the not so distant future...
