Age || 22

Personality

Arsenic Candy

Tesla is one of those things that feels so right even when it's all bad. She knows how to make people feel good, both physically and about themselves. Although she may come across as genuine and sincere, at the end of the day there's only one person Tesla is looking out for and that is herself. She never had any true friends growing up, her brother had always been the closest thing she had to a best friend.

Tesla isn't very good at opening herself emotionally to people, despite her desperate attempt to not be like her mother, Tesla inherited some attributes such as; allusive manner, pretentious demeanor and superficiality. Tesla was raised being told over and over how much better she and her family were than everyone else due to their status. Despite her brothers humbling comebacks, a little of her parents beliefs rubbed off on Tesla evolving her into a narcissistic being.

Confident to a fault, Tesla was often the girl in high school that belittled others who dared to challenge her, getting the attention of all the boys she wanted and even a few girls. Never having been in anything serious, Tesla is absolutely clueless how to even be in a relationship. Being single is so much easier, Tesla believes, finding satisfaction on occasional flings or drunken hook ups. Now that she is older, Tesla is much less rude to individuals that may not be up to par outwardly, but she is still extremely superficial.

When Tesla plans to snare someone, it's pretty much game over. As the devils temptress, Tesla is a hard female to say no to. Sensuality just seemed to ooze from the woman, even simply dressed Tesla is sure to elicit some cat calls. More than once Tesla has used her looks to her advantage, as well as other skills she has. A master manipulator, Tesla always finds a way to get what she wants. As stated before, truly Tesla will only look out for herself.

Although Tesla is an extremely dominating and intimidating character, she responds well to being dominated. Not many people try to challenge the blonde bombshell, but when they do so and succeed it is there on out that Tesla will respect said person and listen to what they may have to say. Often attracted to danger and trouble, Tesla has typical Spoiled Princess Syndrome and finds herself in compromising situations that a series of bad decisions let her into.

With money being the answer to any problems in her family, Tesla was raised believing that money is power. Now being exposed to independent living, Tesla struggles to live the life style she wants and may use men to help her get what she wants. Tesla has the skill to make someone feel like the most important person in the room, and from a young age Tesla has played the accessory well. Her skills extend to being a pretty thing hanging off of someone's arm and dancing, and until dancing can take off Tesla plans to just use her body as a source of income.

History

Born to Ana and Alexander Basov, both esteemed and wealthy individuals from families with old money, Tesla was always surrounded with ambitious and accomplished people. Her father was a Hollywood Executive and often was gone on business, but he always returned with gifts and open arms taking his children out on trips to out into the city. Micah, Tesla's brother that was her senior by five years, was the Golden boy. All the girls wanted him, all the boys wanted to be him. Star player in Rugby and Student body President, often her mothers attention and maternal instincts were only extended to Micah.

Both career oriented people, Ana and Alexander left most of their child's parenting be handled by a hired staff. Tesla and Micah spent their childhood and early adolescents with alternating nannies, spending a rare dinner or special events with their parents. They went to school to the local prep academy in Manhattan, vacationed on available weekends in the Hampton's and traveled abroad for longer vacations such as Christmas or Spring Cleaning - where every year the Basov's cleared out of their home for a week annually to have it meticulously cleaned and possibly remodeled.

Tesla would never lie and say that her childhood wasn't easy, in fact she revels in the fact that she had been spoiled for most of her life. Yes the lavish life as a Basov was glamorous, but what happened when throwing money at your kids wasn't enough? Ana Basov, a busy divorce lawyer to many A-list celebrities, didn't often have time for her children, and when she did it was for Micah. He was always the favorite, when Tesla's ballet recitals coincided with Micah's games, more than once both Ana and Alexander Basov opted for Micah's game.

As a child Tesla often attempted to emulate her brother, hoping if maybe she was more like him their parents would love her more. When Ana noticed her daughter begin to exhibit boyish behavior, immediately she enrolled Tesla and ballet - probably the only thing Tesla could thing to thank her mother for. Tesla loved dancing as soon as she began it, excelling in her ballet class all through her life. Image
As she got older, Tesla would spend all her time in the studio taking all different kinds of dancing classes ranging from contemporary to Latin to ballroom to hip hop. The more time she spent away from home the better, she figured.

When Tesla entered adolescence, she began to blossom into a becoming young lady. Her father, who often would take his families to movie premiers or award shows, showed off his gem Tesla and at a young age Tesla was told she had "the look". Girls at her school often disliked her, leaving Tesla with mostly the opposite sex as her friend. It was all these components that managed to mold Tesla into many girls worst nightmare during high school.

Up until Tesla was fourteen, Micah had been more of a parent to Tesla than either Ana or Alexander. He was the one to motivate her, listen to Tesla's dreams, help her with homework or life problems. To Tesla, Micah was the one person she loved and cared about. When Micah signed up for the army only months out of college, needless to say the Basov family was surprised. Micah was destined to inherit the family business, and joining the army was atypical in their family. When Micah left for boot camp, Tesla began to act out.

It started with staying out late, then with her blowing through money or throwing lavish parties when her parents were away. It wasn't until Tesla's promiscuity began to compromise their families reputation when Ana contacted Micah begging him to come home. Micah didn't return until he completed boot camp, but upon his return he did manage to reign in Tesla temporarily.

Tesla was never a well like person, but she never cared much about what other people though. She had her friends she partied with, her fake friends and her friends with benefits, between that and liquor the girl didn't want much else. When she was in her junior year, Micah was deployed to Iran for two years, which although devastating, opened a window of opportunity for Tesla.

Returning to her old ways, Tesla spent most of her time out, and at that point it seemed like her parents stopped caring. Spiraling into an endless black hole, by her senior year Tesla was fucking her English teacher and paying off her science teacher just to make it across the stage. It wasn't until December 19 of her Senior year that Tesla realized she had to leave her life behind.

Winter break had just begun, and Tesla came home to a somber home, surprised to see both her parents home. They coldly told her Micah had died overseas, and that his body had been too mangled to retrieve. Ana hadn't so much as shed a tear, let alone comfort a sobbing Tesla. Alexander had held his daughter as Ana returned to her study to catch up on some work.

After Micah had died, Tesla could feel herself becoming more and more miserable. Taking a part time job at the studio, she slowed down on partying but continued having intimate relations with her teacher as well as a married man she met at the Metropolitan. Despite constant efforts, Tesla felt stuck in Manhattan, her parents being her ball and chain.

Saving money from her job, two weeks after her graduation Tesla took her own money as well as money he father stashed around the house, packed up enough belongings to live on and left her home. Tesla remained in New York for a year before moving to Chicago when she was nineteen. After that Tesla got a job as a model in an advertisement company where she was hired to stand around in a t shirt with a logo on it at events. It was at one of these events that Tesla met Big Daddy, he and Madame first saw Tesla. Big Daddy offered Tesla a job on the spot, handing her his card. It was only two weeks later Tesla was fired and began working for The Windy City Gentleman's club.

No interview needed.
Most beautiful words Tesla had heard in over three weeks. Big Daddy told her she could start working today. Supposedly while she wasn't stripping Tesla would have to be serving drinks, clothes optional. Underneath the tight red dress that hugged her curves so righteously, was the black lacy under garments that she called her uniform. As she walked into Windy City's Gentleman's club, Tesla admired the decor and expensive taste. At least it wasn't some seedy trashy industrial strip joint where the girls had c-sections and the bar thick with grime. It was really nice.

Plus Tesla loved to dance, and loved being naked, so how hard would being a stripper really be. She had taken pole dancing classes before, a few tricks still up her sleeve. Absentmindedly, she wondered how well people tipped at this club.
Her bag contained a light pink wig, a cute pixi cut, as well as glitter, some bud and a few Xanax' for tonight, among other things. Supposedly she wasn't dancing tonight, instead she was to watch the other girls and just pick up on the groove of things around the club.

Her neighbor warned her when Tesla told him about her new job, "All I'm saying is I knew someone who owed them money, and then one day he just was gone." He had said, but Tesla didn't think much of it. Perhaps it was her Russian descent or her personal relationship with the Russian mafia in NYC, it didn't bother her much. If anything it had the opposite affect, drawing her in.
The young vixen's black snakeskin heels clacked as she neared the bar, so far not a soul in sight. She took a seat at the bar, absently running her fingers through the whispy blonde strands that fell from the elegant updo she had twisted her hair into. A sigh escaped her lips, and as if on cue, a short hairy man popped up from the behind bar, "What's troubling ya toots?" He said. Startled, Tesla let out a little yelp, almost jumping straight out of her chair. The man laughed hysterically, wiping tears from his eyes as he picked up a dustpan and broom and came out from behind the bar. "Ain't nobody here but ole' Tommy right now. I clean up in the mornings, try to get the glitter off the stage so the girls don't bust their shit." He explained as he began to sweep under tables.
"What?" Tesla said with slight irritation, "Big Daddy told me I start today, though, something about come in early to meet everyone and get familiarized with the way things run." She told the custodian, hopping back onto her feet and hiking her bag onto her shoulder, ready to just go home. Now she probably wouldn't even have this job because she would be a no show. Maybe she should just rob a couple apartments instead, come up $500 or so.

But Tommy spoke again, "He probably meant meet them at the Bistro, that's where everyone's normally at in the morning." Tesla froze, now that she thought about it, Big Daddy had mentioned a bistro, but she had been sure it was just a drunken slur and he meant the Gentleman's club. She asked Tommy the address, and he told her, luckily it was within walking distance so she wouldn't need to use the CTA. The buses were atrocious in this city, and most trains even worse. Tesla thanked Tommy on her way out and started toward the bistro.
It was much closer than she expected, the walk went by like nothing and as she walked into the sandwich shop, Tesla realized she had walked into a crowd.
She scanned the crowd, looking for Big Daddy himself, but coming up flat. Instead it was just a group of rough looking people, she felt like a sore thumb. Opting instead to approach a friendly looking girl (Skye), Tesla smiled charmingly, "Hey do you know who I'm supposed to talk to? My names Tesla, I'm supposed to start working at the club tonight, but I was told to come in early and meet everyone." She asked, keeping her voice low and and only audible between the two of them. Strangely she didn't want to announce to the whole world about her new profession.

"Don't worry about it, Mae." Cole riposted sharply as he stood to greet Suri, clad in dark clothes. He chuckled at her comment about the young waitress, jerking his head at Suri and walking towards the stairs. "We can talk in the VIP room, I don't want to stir anyone up." Grunting a little, he looked at the girl who straggled through the front doors. Dancer, Cole thought to himself as he shot Maria a look, who was completely oblivious as she looked over Daniel. "You have a dancer, Maria." He said loudly before he straightened the sleeves of his suit jacket, ran a hand over his head and waggled his wrist a little to readjust his watch.

Beginning towards the stairs, leading Suri, he called down to Martin, "Good job you old bastard. I'll buy you a round of drinks tonight so we can celebrate properly, huh?" It was odd for Cole to know he and Martin were almost the same age but on completely opposite sides of the spectrum. He wondered to himself what would have happened if he pursued sports a little more in high school and gone to college, like his mother wanted.

The dancer sauntered over to Skye, asking her questions in a low tone. Cole rolled his eyes, looking around at the small crowd briefly before he breached the second floor with Suri by his side. He nodded to her and disappeared into the VIP room where he took a seat, "So tell me what happened with these guys that didn't pay." Reaching into the mini-fridge, he pulled out two beers for himself and Suri.

"My father is adamant, about slowing up with the death toll. We need to play our cards carefully, Suri. Especially with that big deal coming tomorrow, with the Russians. We just basically signed a peace treaty." He exhaled heavily as he reached for another cigarette from his suit, his eyes still slightly glazed.

Feeling a presence approaching her and hearing Martin's voice, Maria replied resiliently to it, "Pretty bad bruising." It was comical, watching the Italian siren, still a bit shorter than Daniel even in her heels, trying to look over him. "Shh, shh, relax," she said, knowing her hands and jewelry were Arctic to his balmy skin. With merciful grace and caution, her small thumb softly grazed the bruising under his eye, seemingly barely touching his skin. She tried to keep her hand masterly steadied, not wanting to apply pressure, hurt or startle the young man.

"I'm just wondering why you're so shaken, that you felt the need to lie," groaning a bit, she let go of his face and continued, "And why the hell are you standing like you're some sort of o bāchan." She laughed softly, proud of her own observed words she had picked up from previous translators and various negotiators. Cole tried for his sister's attention in a rather rude, regardless tone which earned him a cold shoulder as he made his way up the stairs. Looking past Daniel, she saw the blond girl. "Tesla?" She asked, her focus back on the translator.

It wasn't until Maria placed a hand on his shoulder that she truly felt his serpentine posture, unidealized. With her free hand, she traced her fingers down his sternum and off to the side a bit, carefully avoiding pressure, "They kicked you while you were down, didn't they?" She had to fight the urge to roll her eyes and demand an address where the misadventure took place as she looked back at Martin, irritation written all over her face.

Her best guess was that a group of thugs decided that the thin Japanese translator was a weak target, someone they could easily steal from. He was quiet and reserved; the type of person they really gun for. They knew just by looking at him that he wouldn't report it or fight back. The thought of it made Maria borderline furious.

Moving for a moment, she reached an arm behind Daniel and put her hand to his ribs again, then caught sight of yet another newcomer… Well, kind of. She locked eyes with him, quite unprepared for his arrival. Jackson Hughes walked in, wearing a shy smile that did not match his sinister, grayish eyes. It seemed for a moment Maria started to fumble, even choke a little bit as she assessed Daniel. Looking back up to the translator, she murmured, "I can't really tell how bad it is just from this but… It's not good. Will you show me, later? I won't bother you anymore for now."

[will be making a character profile or char for hire post for Jackson shortly. Three characters, woo-eee. Hopefully I don't run out of creative juice!]

Skye was busy helping get the Bistro ready for when the customers arrive. She wasn't paying much attention to anyone. She just came out of the kitchen when a girl stopped in front of her and started talking to her. Skye looked at the girl that introduced herself as Tesla and was suppose to work at the club tonight but was to meet everyone first.

Her eyes darted over to Cole, but he was going to the VIP room with the girl with black and white hair, she then looked over to Maria but she seemed busy also. Focusing back to Tesla, she gave the girl a smile "My names Skye, im just one of the waitresses here. I believe the person your suppose to speak to is Maria but she seems a little busy. If you want to take a seat at the bar I can let her know your here".

Daniel Takahashi

Wincing a little at Maria's tone- how could someone so small be so intimidating?- the translator turned his eyes from his older colleague back to the short Italian girl in front of him. Despite the discomfort it had caused him initially to have her hands on his face, Daniel found himself slightly disappointed when she removed them. "It's just because you're skins so feverish and her hands felt so cool," he told himself silently as he avoided eye contact with the girl. Her next sentence caught him off-guard and he couldn't stop the grin that stole over his face at her use of the Japanese term for grandmother, he was surprised at how good her accent sounded. In response to her initial question he replied with a painful half-shrug, "I just... didn't want anyone to... y-you know... worry...?"

The other inquiry didn't need a response as she quickly found at for herself, her hands ghosting over his chest and down his side. When her hands touched him, Daniel's blush returned full force, but he made himself stay still so that she could finish her examination. Damn, it seemed like he would need to make himself more comfortable with physical contact if he kept interacting with Maria so he wouldn't freeze up every time she barely touched him. While he was thinking, her hands gently prodded the area of his side, causing him to suck in a hissing breathe through his teeth despite her care not to hurt him. He found himself nodding silently to her correct appraisal of the damage he'd taken- his grey eyes flickering away to the rest of the room. Although he obviously wasn't going to win any fights any time soon and wasn't nearly as muscular as the other men in the Occheto's employ, he was still a little embarrassed over how easily and thoroughly he'd been beaten; so he was glad when he saw that the rest of the employees were generally occupied elsewhere other than Martin and the blonde Maria had addressed earlier.

Movement at the front of the store caught his eye, but he didn't have time to investigate because Maria had slid her small body around his, her arm gently resting around his back as if to support him. Quickly his grey eyes switched back to the woman, catching the look on her face as she gazed at the person he'd just seen a split-second before. Daniel couldn't quite read everything that was in that look, but it didn't matter as she quickly changed the subject back to him. The blush from before darkened and he found himself biting his lip despite the pain and accidentally popping open the wound again; holding his hand to his mouth to stop the blood flow he stammered, "U-u-umm.... yes, o-of course, but uuuuh, it's really not that bad." Another lie. He was pretty sure he should have gone to the hospital first instead of work, but he didn't know what would happen if he didn't show up to work when he was supposed to... and it just hadn't mattered very much to him at the time.

"Sorry for the early arrival," Jackson rasped as he entered, dropping a bag near the bar and dirting off his Armani decorated shoulders. It was as if he read Maria's mind. He was always good at that, and he was damn confident in that, if nothing else. Standing at a looming 6'3", chiseled and thunderous, it was no wonder why Big Daddy wanted him around. Taking a seat, he looked around and noted, "The walls aren't red anymore," he rubbed his chin a little, "Your staff gets younger and younger." He wagered it was easier to coax young, naive kids into staying with a crime family rather than adults who plainly knew better. But what he said seemed like more of a jab at Daniel than anything.

He tried not to show the pang of jealousy he was feeling, watching his old love interest paying such close, careful attention to some Asian putz. She wore the same dress he saw her in at the coffee shop, but was a little more sheeny with teal rings and bracelets. He kicked up one of his feet, embellished by the thick boots he wore. For a second he grimaced as he looked around for Aurora. He wondered how that old scar healed on her shoulder. For a while there, Jackson felt no regret, no guilt for popping a bullet into the little thing and watching her writhe on the hotel floor. Since then, some criminality weighed on his conscience.

Maria's eyes only darted to Jackson once or twice as she tended to Daniel, her cool fingers touching his face once more as she took a good look at him, "Don't go sneaking off tonight, you hear me?" She held his face in her hands for a moment, giving him a stern look before she pulled away, waving a hand and laughing, "Damn kid, loosen up. I'll take care of you." Her red lips spread into a smile as she looked at him once more, then at Martin who was aiding. "Take him up, I'll check on you boys later, besides I'm sure you have some more paperwork to handle." She riposted with a wink before rubbing Daniel's shoulder and walking away.

Half startled when Maria approached, Jackson looked to her with a mixture of disdain, jealousy, and desire, "Who's that?" He moved his head in the direction of the slender Asian boy. Maria narrowed her eyes, "What's it matter? Why are you here so early?" She tried to keep her tone reasonable and calm, but he was already back to his typical ways and was hardly there but ten minutes before he started. Not waiting for a reply, she shook her head hastily at him, his mouth ajar as she walked away. She didn't have time for his antics, she made that clear a long time ago.

A few customers walked in, some simply wanting drinks and some there for the linguini. Maria scoured the room for Skye before she caught her and said, "I need you to seat some of these folks and get their orders, sugar." Then, she made her way back to bar. It wasn't long before the bar was bustling and she was juggling bottles of liquor and taking orders. When everyone was settled, she saw the young dancer again and stated, "You're going to be working at Windy City; the management isn't as friendly there."

Skye heard Maria and nodded then looked back to Tesla "sorry duty calls but ill be around" she smiled then gave the girls shoulder a few pats then went to the front of the resteraunt and greeted a few customers. She brought them to a table then got their drink orders. She went to the bar and got the family their drinks then carried the drinks back to the table. Once the drinks were served she asked if they were ready to order which they weren't. She went back to the front where there were a few customers waiting to be seated, she brought them to a table then got their drink orders.

She went back to her first table and wrote down what they wanted to eat, once she had their orders she took their menus and let them know their meal would be out soon. She then brought the food order to the cooks and went and got the other tables drinks. She made sure her tables were all satisfied as she went around the resteraunt, keeping busy.

"Well, well," Maria shook her head with a smile, her polished white teeth showing a bit, "Ain't that a sweet smile." She passed Tesla a sex on the beach and commented, "On the house." The small Italian woman walked away then, tending to a round customer who had, a few nights ago, his sights set on Hayden. "Oh my sweet Maria," he crooned, looking over her with aged eyes, "You're going to give me a heart attack, dressed like that." To this, she simply laughed and poured him some whiskey on the rocks, "You can't die on me yet, I still need a tip."

Jackson remembered this guy, Argento; he knew better than to get jealous. But deep down, he knew he shouldn't be jealous point blank. She wasn't his. She never was. That was his fault, he was to blame. He couldn't turn back the hands of time. He slouched a bit, perhaps beside himself as he looked at Maria, wondering who else had their hands on her, wondering if she'd been with anyone he knew.

Averting the gazes of her brother and Jackson, she served them some shots of vodka and called it a day. Any other orders could be catered to by herself, Hayden, Aurora or Maya. Suri was a different story, though. Maria served the woman some drinks with a kitten smile, "Drink up." Looking over to Aurora, she noted that the girl was pretty excited to see the man who shot her in the shoulder. Maria didn't forget or forgive those sort of things. Hell, she barely did either of those under any circumstances.

Daniel was leagues away now, probably safe in the second floor office somewhere, buried in paperwork. Looking at the clock, she shrugged and figured since it was Sunday and it was already getting late, she could screw around a bit. Sauntering off into the kitchen, she fetched a tray and ordered an appetizer sampler and a bucket of ice. She folded a napkin neatly on the tray before bustling back out into the dining area and up the stairs. Precautionary based, she looked over her shoulder at the entrance to ensure her father wasn't yet there. Then she made her way to where she saw Daniel wandering last, calling out as she tip toed, "I brought you guys some food and some ice for that bruising."

The woman Skye had pointed out as the one in charge, Tesla had been a bit flabbergasted. She seemed so young, and she was very beautiful. Nevertheless Tesla stayed quiet, thanking her graciously as a drink was given to her, free of charge. It was a perfect mix, strong but not overwhelming. Maria sauntered off, and Tesla took this time alone to survey the crowd. As she sipped cautiously at her beverage, chocolate brown eyes observed those around her. The gnawing gremlin of curiosity made her more excited about the people she was working for than the job itself.

They seemed to get pretty good business, tables were filling up and she had a few people with her at the bar. They all seemed to be hard workers, they were all running things so smoothly.

The girl she recognized as Skye kept popping in and out of the kitchen. She had seemed nice enough, maybe later Tesla could charm the girl into introducing her to everyone else, when it wasn't so busy.

However the one person she expected to see wasn't even around. Where was Big Daddy? He had claimed he would see her today, not that she was overly eager to talk to the alleged mobster. However it would be nice to have reassurance about the job from the man who was in charge. Also in a strange way, Tesla had a thing for the man. Perhaps it had to do with daddy issues, but Tesla couldn't lie that the whole 'Run this city' vibe she got off of him was undeniably sexy.

Chuckling at herself, she set down her drink. Already the liquor was making her mind wander to a dark spot, this was always how it happened. Everything always was going well until she sleeps with someone, maybe instead of scheming of who I want in bed, this time I should try to actually keep the job' she thought to herself. Crossing her legs gingerly, a good start she was sure.

Skye caught Frank's eye but what the guy did next was kind of a shocked her because there was no way she could run from this. For one they knew where she lived, what if they came after her if she ran, or came after her mother. She couldn't risk that. Unknowingly to Skye, Big Daddy had people always watching her through her life, making sure nothing happened to her mother or her.

She heard what Maria and Cole said but she wasn't sure if she could do that, all the blood, the smell was starting to get to her. She saw Tesla crouched behind the bar and Skye found herself going over to the girl and crouched down beside Tesla. "I can't do it..." she whispered into the girls ear, her eyes wide with fear. She was only seventeen and they expected her to get her hands bloody with murder. Maybe she really should have quit the other night when she had the chance.

She took out her phone and sent Frank a message There is no way I can get out. What other info did you want. I can meet with you tomorrow, just not at Buca's. After she sent the text she brought her knees to her chest and put her arms around her legs, her chin on her knees, as she rocked slightly.

The blood from the men luckily, was spilling onto a rolled out carpet. It should have been a fairly easy clean up, minus the compacting process that the men would handle in the kitchen with tarps and gloves. Cole looked to Suri, who was managing to pull her weight off of the bar top. Raising a brow, he smiled a bit, "Ol' girl's still got it." He would have said more had it not been for the glass busting off to this left, where someone had undoubtedly escaped. "Shit, now we've got a runner."

Shrugging, he figured it could all be handled. It was in his best interest not to panic or sweat anything, not until he was at least cleaned up and 90% done business. Should any other obstacles present themselves, the folks in the bistro were ready. Looking to Aurora, feeling a pang of guilt as she tried to move Maria, he called out, "Leave her be, baby. Go get the girl from the bathroom." If he knew his sister as well as he thought he did, she wouldn't have wanted any estrogen-induced pity. It would only irritate her. She was a tad slumped over, swallowing hard to avoid any more emotion spilling out of her. Daniel lingered by her, shocked by the teen's body. Cole laughed a little and pushed up his sleeves, then peered over to the other side of the bar where he saw the dancer.

For a moment, his face disappeared. Then he swiftly jumped over the counter as if it were nothing, grabbing the dancer and spilling alcohol from her hand. He pulled her up with force, but his grip on her wrist was rather slack and humane. "Welcome to the family, sweetheart." He planted a big kiss on her head, then led her out towards the bodies of the men on the carpet. "Well, here's your royal red carpet. And don't be scared, we all had to do it." His tone was playful as he guided her towards a man who couldn't have been past his late thirties, clutching his side and wriggling on the floor. Kneeling, Cole pulled the girl down with him and said in hollow tones, "You just gotta' stick him," he made a swift stabbing gesture in the air, "Real quick, and it's done."

Looking over to Suri, Cole nodded as he watched her hover menacingly above Frankie. The girl was one hell of a fighter, even wounded. He turned his focus back to Tesla now, "I'll even sweeten the deal a little," he dug in his pocket, "So it's not so bad." He handed the girl a petite pocket knife and curled her fingers around the hilt. It wasn't until his azure eyes locked onto hers that he mentioned, "I'm sure you're not dumb. You know what comes next if you don't do it." With that, he walked away.

Cole returned to the bar, hopping over much like he did before to get Tesla. He noted the fear in Skye's eyes, rolling his own as he hoisted her to her feet. "Alright sweet thing, you're up." He guided her with large, strong gentled hands and led her towards the men, Suri and Tesla.

Then, he heard a voice he didn't recognize. "Well it looks like a scene from the Godfather in here, guess what I heard about you all was right." Reaching for his Beretta again, he continued to look for the girl. Though, he was curious about the voice. It didn't sound too good. Shit, Cole thought to himself, what now?

Maria did not look good, she was shaking like a leaf and the entire white part of her dress as well as her face was covered in blood- which didn't appear to be her's. The other girls standing by her seemed to be in as much shock over her behaviour as Daniel was- he had never seen the boss's daughter so distraught before-and didn't seem to know what to do to help her either. He was in the process of pooling his sweater's arm into his hand so he could help her wipe off some of the blood when she began to speak, only for her to be interrupted by her brother. Due to the throbbing pain in his head, it took Daniel a moment to realize what was going on and then he froze. Cole was trying to make everyone get their hands dirty... everyone left in the bar either had to kill or be killed. He hadn't worked for the Occheto family long, but he'd managed to avoid doing anything like that thus far... would this be the day he'd have to do what he dreaded most when he signed a contract with Big Daddy to save his mother?

His horrified thoughts came to an abrupt halt when Maria turned and hissed directly at him, "Go back upstairs." The blood and bruises covering her face nearly made him flinch away from the violence in her voice; as it was it only took him a moment to figure out what was really going on since he'd already drawn the conclusion about Cole's motives. Maria was trying to keep him from getting his hands dirty. Something about that thought made him feel both comforted and pathetic; he was glad she recognized his want to go without murdering someone, but at the same time he felt horrible that he couldn't help her and that she obviously didn't want him to. The conflicting emotions warred inside him as he leaned across and gently used his sweater's arm to wipe blood from the Maria's fair skin.

Daniel flinched a bit when the window shattered, but didn't bother to turn and look- already overwhelmed enough for one day. However, he did turn to gaze sadly at the boss's son as he forced two of the girls who had been hiding to stand and take part of the day's work... Bile rose in the back of his throat as he watched Cole press a knife into the new girl's hand and lead her to a struggling man. Quickly he turned away, unshed tears shining in his eyes as he finished cleaning up the blood on Maria's face. "This is a horrible place..." he thought to himself as blood coursed down his chin from his lip, which he absently wiped away with his elbow once he'd leaned away from her.

Absently he put a hand to his aching side, wheezing slightly as he tried to take a deep breath; he wasn't ready to kill anyone and despite his righteous intentions- it was obvious he couldn't help anyone down here. So slowly he nodded and-grabbing the back of a bar stool- levered himself away from the group of girls. "I-I-I'll go back... I have... work to do anyway." Daniel offered Maria a pathetic excuse for a smile and then began the long journey around the teenager's body and up the stairs past Martin. Although he was slightly afraid Cole would call him back, he was also aware that he was a part of the family business in an entirely different way and hoped that the boss's son would consider that enough. Clutching his side, the thin translator blinked back tears and wobbled up to the landing. Once he was off the stairs he collapsed into the hallway, lying against the wall and panting as he tried to erase the horror from downstairs from his mind.

The low voices were what scared Tesla the most. The warm splatter from earlier slipped her mind, but as she went to tuck a hair behind her ear, her fingertips met with something warm and gooey. Pulling away her hand, Tesla saw the familiar crimson of blood, and as she looked at the rest of her body, along her whole left side there were drops of blood. Finally, the panic that seemed to hit everyone else much sooner settled in. Feverishly she attempted to wipe away the blood, only smearing the splatter in a more obvious way then before. Silent as a mouse, Tesla poured the liquor over her leg, grabbing a cocktail napkin and wiping off the blood, taking swigs of the bottle as she did so.
Although she had blood on her face, Tesla had already forgotten. A combination of panic and Jack made her in a frenzied state to wash the blood she could see staining her skin.
People had shot over the bar, shattering several bottles and leaving hundreds of pieces of glass and liquor covering the whole back of the bar. Cursing the girl remembered she had left her heels on the other side of the bar.
More shots were heard, Tesla ducked as she heard them followed by a shattering of glass.

There was a lot of damage today.

As she heard those on the other side of the bar, Tesla huddled up behind the bar awaiting her faith. Most of these people didn't even know her name, let alone trust her. Knots began to form in her stomach, she could feel herself becoming queasy. Colors began to fade and flash, common signs of her passing out. Tesla never did well under pressure , and at this point it was like her body was ready to play dead. Cautiously she took a few deep breaths, now was not the time to leave herself defenseless. Calming herself, once again Tesla took a shot.

On one hand once she stood up, Tesla could pass out, or finally realized how drunk she was. Maybe they would just leave her there all night. Just as she thought so Skye crawled over, and Tesla was caught between being thankful for having someone there, and anger for bringing the attention to her. Skye was just afraid as she was. Tesla hugged the girl, "I'm to young to die." She sobbed, strangely tearless. As if on cue, a handsome dangerous looking man joined them on this side of the bar, pulling Tesla up and making her drop the bottle in the meantime. At first she began to scream, unable to control herself, but she slapped her hand over her own mouth to silence herself. The fire behind Cole's eyes terrified her, but she never let her eyes stray from his, even if he didn't look at her the whole time.

He kissed her head, making her cringe as he began to drag her to the group of half dead men, stumbling a little as she walked "Welcome to the family... she managed to catch, looking at him sharply. This meant she wouldn't die, right? He pulled her down, on a level closer to the man writhing in pain. Tesla stared at him, only able to half listen to Cole before she felt the cool touch of something being forced into her hand.

She looked at him, "You know what comes next if you don't." shivers ran down her spine. As he walked away, she looked down into her palm, seeing the silver of the small knife, and suddenly understanding. She looked at the man before him, he was as good as gone, but she remained still. Suddenly Skye was next to her. Tesla looked over to her, mouthing the words, "It'll be okay" in a foul attempt to comfort the girl. If it was down to killing this man and living, or not killing this man and they were both dead, unfortunately it was an easy choice. If only it was an easy action, stalling for time, Tesla was relieved when another voice distracted Cole.

Skye looked up as Cole jumped over the bar, she felt his hands on her and making her stand up. She was slightly shaking and she looked to Cole "I..I can't do this" she whispered as Cole guided her towards where the men where on the floor. "Please just let me go...I won't say anything", there was a pleading tone in her voice but she had a feeling she wouldn't be able to get out of this. She turned her head to where Maria was and wished somehow the older girl would get her out of this but there was no way.

She looked up as she heard a guy say something about the godfather movies and she thought the guy looked familiar. Like she has seen him somewhere before. As the got to where the guys were Skye looked at the bloody scene and she had a hard time from throwing up. She looked up to Cole, knowing her fate was sealed. It was either kill or be killed but she still was having a hard time wrapping her mind around it.

"Please...ill do anything else...please just don't make me kill anyone" she whispered as she tried to look away from the writhing men. She caught Tesla's eyes and the girl mouthed some words to her, trying to comfort her but it was no use. She tried to move closer to Tesla but Cole's hands were still holding her.

The comfort Daniel attempted to offer made Maria smile painstakingly, her heart wrenching in anguish. He wiped at her face, to which she did not budge much, only wore a faint, weak smile. For a moment, she took his hand and folded back his sleeve. "Thank you," she uttered sincerely, "Go back upstairs, I'll look at those ribs later." She hadn't forgotten. Cole watched Daniel make his way up the stairs, confusion written all over his face. "Let him go." Maria mumbled, finally getting to her feet. Inevitably, Cole assumed the translator was too young to be trusted. Maria wouldn't subject another stripling to torment, she wouldn't stand for it; not after what just happened to Lana. Daniel was not to be involved in the butcherings.

Maria wasn't a fool. Though her eyes didn't seem to examine the room too much, she knew that Skye had lured the man from the club to the bistro. She didn't trust it, and she was sure that was who hopped through the window and vanished into the night. It would have to be addressed one way or the other. Some ground rules needed to be established indubitably. Maria just wasn't quite sure she was in the right state to give any lectures.

The intentions of the night were clear. No one was getting off easy. Despite agreements, Big Daddy could never trust anyone. He'd use his children or enforcers to twist the arms of his 'employees' in such a way that even if they were to run, to tell someone, it would do no good. He made sure no one got a clean escape, if any at all. Maria's head throbbed as she thought about it; well, maybe that was the hair follicles that had been yanked on remorselessly a short while ago.

"I'll go get the tarp…" She sighed reluctantly, looking over her shoulder at Tesla and Skye, who was being tugged toward a squirming man by Cole. She wasn't going to rescue anyone with the exception of Daniel, who was already traumatized enough. Her eyes drifted away from the girls carelessly. Staggering into the kitchen, Maria took a deep breath once past the doors. She had a mental pep-talk with herself as she ushered herself into the basement to grab an industrial sized tarp. The sheet of fiber and plastic was bigger than her even rolled up, and she had to use all of her might just to haul it back up the stairs. She began clearing away racks to make room to lay it out.

When the kitchen cleared of its clutter, the ivory walls taunting Maria's every movement, she came through the doors again. It wasn't often she was so disheartened or somber under such circumstances, but having to look over the lifeless face of Lana was rattling her insides. Her tanned skin was spattered with blood, her green eyes were immense and vacant. Inside them, the pupils were nanoscale much like those of an unnerved feline. She felt like a shell, and somewhere deep within that shell was Maria, running around and hitting walls, talking to no one in particular as she tried to find her way home.

Jackson stood over the blond dancer, smiling a bit as he supervised her. Nodding to her silently as if to say, "Go ahead, do it," he rubbed a hand down his torso, wiping off some blood. Patience was wearing thin on everyone, and they didn't have much time for any more theatrics. Cole groaned from a few feet away, shouting, "These fucking women are going to be the reason we get slammed!" He was losing his temper. Jackson shot him a look.

"You can't do this?" Cole asked, the timbre of his voice a bit mocking. He gripped the girl's forearm and then threw her onto the ground to dust off his hands, finishing with a mighty clap. He hated to handle any woman like that, but time was of the essence. Yanking the Beretta out of his waistband, he cocked it back and put the barrel to Skye's head, "You can't do it? Are you sure?" Jackson's eyes darted to Cole, but he knew not to say anything. They were tight on time, and Cole was just trying to get it all done before it was too late.

He couldn't take an hour to sit down and play Dr. Phil with the girl until she understood, comprehended and was a little less tense. Cole was compassionate, but when his father was counting the minutes, sensitivity was a virtue thrown to the wolves. He lit up a cigarette, lowering the gun a bit for a moment, "If I had a nickel for every time someone said they wouldn't say anything, I'd be god damn rich." He resumed with his pistol, the nose of it grazing Skye's hair, noting that the girl was looking hopelessly towards Maria, "Oh," he grunted, "I see now."

Thrusting the barrel against her head once more to remind her where she was, he began, "This isn't a fucking movie. This isn't some dream. That girl over there? The one who just had her face shoved into the corpse of her friend? She isn't going to fucking save you. Besides, she knows better now, doesn't she?"

Another man came onto the other side of Skye and herself, egging her on to do what she was told. When her parents had mocked her for leaving, said she could never handle the real world, yet here she was, in a situation more real than anything her parents had ever experience. Somehow the fear began to fade, perhaps adrenaline was cutting through her wariness. Skye begged next to her, Tesla itched to comfort the poor girl, if she felt anything like Tesla did five minutes ago she knew how crippling the fear was.

The man to the left of her began to yell at Skye, throwing her aside and pointing a gun at her. Tesla was frozen, gripping onto the slight knife with her dear life in silence.

Maria mentioned something of a tarp, but to Tesla it seemed like Skye had no time. Her eyes remained fixated on the two men set out for them to kill. By her view, no other men were left alive, so hopefully that was the case. Without a second more of hesitation, Tesla stabbed the man in a main artery, a trick her brother had once taught her. The mans blood squirted out in an almost laughable manner, getting it all over Tesla and the man pointing a gun at Skye. Her brother had showed her all the arteries that if severed caused death within seconds, if not a minute or two. Then before the other two could stop her, Tesla thrusted her knife into the chest of the second man, attempting to cut his heart. Yet as he began to choke, coughing up blood, Tesla realized instead she had punctured his lung. A much slower and more painful death.

She slumped back, remaining just a foot from the lives she just took, her hands trembling. "There, they're dead." Her voice was stripped of all emotion, dead in a way herself.

Martin didn't move form his balcony view of the carnage below. As the fight raged, he could only look on in mild horror, the grip on his gun weakening so that he was barely grasping it. This wasn't the worst he'd seen- not by a long shot, but it was almost comforting for him to realize that, yes, murder still bothered him, even when he didn't know the dead person, or people in this case. He had to fight to hold back the bile rising up his throat when the small family was shot, their only sins being at the wrong place at the wrong time. His hands clenched the banister tightly, knuckles turning white. He couldn't stop staring.

He barely glanced as Big Daddy tossed his own daughter around like a rag doll, or when her friends and Daniel- why hadn't he just stayed in the damn office?- swarmed to her to check on her condition, not even when one man burst out the glass windows and another one joined the aftermath. Just stared down at the three innocents, lips pulled into a frown.

Some days he had been afraid of what this job had done to him. Terrified that he was becoming something he could no longer identify- a monster. So maybe it felt good, the bile trying to force its way from his body, the disgust curdling in his stomach, at the sight below. It reminded him that he was human, and that.... That was fucked up.

Daniel rushing up the stairs seemed to break the spell Martin was under. He could see Cole ordering the two new girls to take part in the massacre below. It made sense, he thought wryly. That was part of the reason that Martin was here now. But he didn't do anything for the squirming girls below, instead slowly turning around and making his way over to where Daniel had collapsed. He absently knelt down next to him, not quite meeting the younger man's eyes. He didn't say anything for a moment, not quite sure what to say. Anything would just come out as disingenuous or too little too late.

"I..." There were so many things he wanted to say. I told you to stay in the office. Why did you leave the office? You could have avoided this. Why did you leave the office?
Instead, he just put a hand lightly on one of Daniel's quivering shoulders, letting the young man run through his emotions on his own time.

Before she knew it Skye was on the ground and a gun was pressed against her head, she was shaking bad and really just wanted to run but there was no way she could, not with so many guys with guns around here. Skye got to her knees and looked right at Cole, again she was feeling some similiarity to him just like she felt with Maria but she was sure she did not know these two before she began work only three days before. With a gun pressed against her head she finally just snapped.

"Y'all are fuckin' crazy, I came here to be a waitress not some god damn killer!" she screamed and then looked over to Tesla. She watched the girl kill both the guys, she shook her head, tears flowing down her eyes as she looked to Cole. "You happy now?, they're dead" she then crawled over to Tesla and put her arms around the girl.

Blood stained her clothes and hands from crawling across the floor, she looked towards Cole, there was a fire in her grey eyes. "Since my hands are already bloody what next?" her voice no longer held the sweet, innocent tone it held before. It sounded actually deeper. The guy that Tesla stabbed in the lungs was still squirming. She grabbed the knife from Tesla's hand and went over to the guy. Hovering over the guy, she held the knife over the guys heart and then started to just repeatedly stab the guy, tears flowing down her face, but she didn't stop.

All of Cole's senses were dangerously honed. If there was a conversation going on softly, he was going to hear it. He listened to the man sputter whom the dancer had stabbed, struggling against the blood filling his lungs. To say he was impressed by the girl's tact was certainly true, but a lot of them did it this way. They went off the deep end a bit when confronted with a life or death decision. Tesla had slumped away, trembling like a mess.

Cole looked up to catch Martin with a frown tugging against his lips, "Looks like we'll definitely be needing those drinks tonight!" he called up, still wearing his white, toothy grin. Off to the side, Maya was face palming herself a short moment before hooking the one who Cole didn't know right in his jaw. He had to stifle laughter as he watched, his gun still pointed at Skye's head. Maya made some comical announcement about Lance being a community punching bag.

Beyond the first floor, hunched over the railing and being comforted by Martin was Daniel. Trying to ease the tension and offer some compassion, Cole called up again, "Tell him Martin! Tell him how dangerous girls are. Especially Maria. She's trouble!" Jackson laughed a bit, then helped Tesla to her feet, hoping this declaration would keep everyone in the room away from Maria.

Upon being asked if he was happy, Cole furled his lip and then smirked a bit, "I mean, kudos to the tiny dancer over here. But what about you?" He lowered his gun, cocking his head to the side as he peered into Skye's grey eyes. Something about them was so familiar. He didn't dwell on it too much as he watched her with his own expectant cyan eyes. He seemed less human in that moment, and more hollow.

Suddenly she clambered away, struggling over one of the men. Cole just raised a brow again, laughing as she went apeshit, stabbing the victim ruthlessly. He'd seen it a thousand times, especially with females. "You gals and your hormones," he joked, kneeling and shoving Skye so she landed on her back. He loomed over her for a second, then snatched the knife, "Easy there Rambo." He patted her shoulder and walked away.

Heeding to the warning that Lance was sneering at Maya, he spun on his heel to make sure she was okay. She stood beside Lance, looking at a wallet with fear in her eyes. In this business far too long, Cole knew what that meant. She rarely wore alarm so freely, as she was an expert in poker faces. He b-lined for them, grabbing the wallet and looking at it before anyone could say a thing. When Lance extended his hand, he had to scrutinize the situation. He tucked the wallet into his own pants and narrowed his eyes at Maya, not needing to point his gun at Lance as everyone would be as soon as he spoke his next words. "Really, Maya? A fucking FBI agent?"

His teeth were gritted so hard his jaw began to ache, "I'd probably kill you right now if my dad didn't like you so much," he spat, "It's always the fucking women!" He shook Lance's hand, bringing him in close, "I'm gonna' let you roam, man, but don't go jumping out a window." He pulled away, fluttering his hands as a gesture for everyone to put their guns down. Then he announced, "I'd like everyone to give Maya a big round of applause for being the one woman who thinks more with her genitals than any guy in this goddamn room." Cole waved his gun in the air as he spoke. It was partially a joke, but more of an insult.

Funny, how easy it was to end a life. It could have just as easily been her own lifeless body sprawled on these blood stained floors. The red of her skin tight dress had a darker more crimson red pattern along the whole front, on one hand she felt like she should've been falling apart. Yet strangely the girl felt nothing, simply nothing.

Skye hugged her, clambering over from Cole, and Tesla looked at the girl blankly. What was there to say? She looked back to the man she had stabbed in the lungs, twitching in pain. There was something disturbing in knowing that she caused that pain. Skye finally spoke, and Tesla no longer heard fear in her voice. It was much like her own, she thought. They had both been tainted, Tesla's vain attempt to shield the younger girl from these blood stains was for nothing. Finally Skye put the man out of his misery, she wished she could thank the girl for doing what she couldn't.
Tesla felt herself being lifted up, she felt like a limp rag doll but once she was at he feet she stood solidly. Adrenaline had burned through most of the liquor, probably, but at this moment Tesla knew she needed just a fat joint. She looked at the man that helped her up, he was the same one who had just pointed a gun at Skye moments ago. Her heart was still pounding in her ears, and slowly she could feel the cuts on her feet from walking across the glass shattered floors barefoot and an ache on her whole right arm. "I need to take a shower." She managed to get out, at the moment she had a hard time grasping for words. "I have clothes I brought t-to change into after work, I just need a shower." The way she spoke to him was less of asking for a favor, and more of expecting him to fix the problem.

Tesla pulled Skye towards her, she barely knew the girl and already she felt like she held a responsibility over her. She glared at Cole, "He made me do this" she thought to herself, holding in the spit she wished she could aim at his face. At this moment she finally realized she was at the point of no return. When she decided to call Big Daddy she had sealed her fate.

Now she was trapped, even if she wanted to leave, would they let her? Her roommate would never know what had happened, Tesla would never breathe a word of this incident to anyone outside of this room, this much she was sure of. But was that for her own selfish reasons? She had killed tonight, something Tesla never thought would happen. Two years ago all the girl would think about how to show off her cleavage and charming the pants off of anyone she desired, if she would've told her 19 year old self that when she was 21 she would be a killer, Tesla would've laughed. Life would never be so easy again.

As Skye was stabbing the guy she felt herself be pushed on her back and she was now looking up to Cole. She was taking in short breaths and she felt the knife be taken from her hand and Cole seemed to make some joke. She fought the urge to tackle the guy right there but she knew that wouldn't be a good idea.

She had no idea what to do, she could not go home with her clothes and skin covered in blood, her mother would ask too many questions that she was just not ready to answer. She felt someone help her up and she was now looking into the eyes of Tesla. She wasn't sure what to say or do, her face showed no expression at all.

She took the blondes hand in her own and squeezed it gently, thats all she could really do. She couldn't form any words, she looked away at nothing, just staring off into space as her mind went on overdrive. She could hear people speaking around her but she couldn't make out what they were saying. This night was just too much for her and her mind was trying to comprehend on how to deal with it al. How she was suppose to deal with knowing she took a mans life.

Perhaps a bit beside herself, Maria seemed to slow as she watched everyone around her conduct their business. It was a sideshow, some weird, uncanny shit people only saw in movies. Incomprehensibly to the world, Maria felt detached. Some days, under the words and influence of Aurora, even sometimes Maya, she was sure she was still partially alive; still human. She wasn't just exoskeleton. Even sometimes, she was sure she had an amorous and right-brained soul. Now, she wasn't so sure. And if she did have all these golden attributes, inevitably they were for nothing. It was all for nothing.

Had she let these thoughts, these reckonings imbibe her, she would be completely depleted. It wasn't the first time that they tromped inside of her head, threatening her sanity or what existed of it. The indifference she felt for her father was growing, but like many others, and fairly unbeknownst, she too, was trapped in this life. This… Trade. Her moods would remain waveless until provoked, of course. She would simply exist and go through the motions for the rest of her life. It was all she had.

The men on the carpet stopped thrashing. They stopped holding onto life and accepted their fates as they inevitably slipped into another macrocosm. Maria only hoped for them, that there was something better on the other side. Frankie, the one Suri had just executed, was inanimate despite the agreement he seemingly made with the blond and black headed girl. Maria started towards her, exhaling with excruciation at her brother's comments that blamed the female population, "Come on Suri, I'll look at this thing on your arm upstairs." She carefully pulled the girl from the scene, guiding her up the stairs.

Looking back to Tesla and Skye, Maria shrugged and offered, "You can get cleaned up upstairs." Her tone was flat, as if she didn't want to say much. When she was on the second floor, she escorted Suri to the royal-blue painted, palatial VIP room and through a small, trap-like door. When on the other side, they were greeted by chalky walls and a massage table and some chairs. Hanging from the walls were two quite outlandish cabinets which contained medical equipment.

Her brother disappeared into the kitchen downstairs, only to return with rubber gloves and yammering on about not making a mess while transferring the corpses to the tarp in the kitchen. He was going to butcher them and compact them. Maria couldn't stand it. She'd taken part in it maybe three times at the most. Is this what she had to look forward to for the rest of her life? Absolutely. It was too late for her. There wasn't much room for second thoughts with the Occheto's.

She helped Suri onto the table and sifted through the cabinets before saying, "Ah ha!" in a slight whisper. Proceeding back with her hands full, she smiled, "Knick is a kind of loose term for what happened to your arm, Sur, I'm gonna' be real with you." She set bandages, forceps, antibiotics and various items on a small metal table. Pressing her fingers to the wound gently, she sucked air through her teeth, "I think that will need stitches." After cleaning the wound, she threaded a medical needle, nearing it to the skin. Almost instantly, she stopped and sighed, "My hands just --- shit. They aren't steady enough."

With a slight clatter, she threw the needle and forceps onto the table and raked a hand down her mildly crimson-flecked face, a bit cleaner thanks to Daniel and Maya. She was paler than usual, her hair was untamed and dark. Steadying herself against a chair as she felt her knees give a little, she swallowed hard and retorted over her shoulder, "I don't usually get like this... Sick, you know?" Leaning her head against the wall, she gave an exasperated look to the medical equipment next to where Suri lay, "I hate this sentimental bullshit. It's such a fucking waste. For what? I should have learned with Jackson. But I still kept trying to be that heroine who picked up everyone else's pieces." While they were together, just the two of them, Maria lowered her voice and admitted, "I don't think I'm going to survive much longer, Suri." And it was true.

She felt isolated, yet responsible for everyone around her. Her father laid the fate of his restaurant and sometimes his reputation in her hands. She feared his patience and tolerance was wearing. Sure, if Jackson could leave the business, so could she. But everyone saw how long that lasted. It was entrapment at best. And she was alone, regardless of her choosing to be that way.

Skye Keaton

Skye didn't exactly hear what Tesla said, she just felt her hand be taken and she was being pulled up a flight of stairs. She was still in some kind of shock. She felt Tesla let go of her and run the rest of the way to the bathroom. Skye just took slow steps until she came to the bathroom door and opened it. She saw Tesla leaning over the toilet but quickly got up and straightened herself out. Skye leaned against the door unsure of what to do. When Tesla mentioned that she wished this was a dream, she looked up right into Tesla's eyes "more like a nightmare" she whispered softly.

When Tesla asked if she would stay in the room she nodded her head, there was no way she was going out there alone. She lowered herself on the floor and brought her knees up to her chest, she was still shaking a bit. She kept her eyes to the floor as Tesla showered, not saying anything. As Tesla got out of the shower and told her she could go in now, she didn't think twice as she pulled off her clothes. Not really caring that Tesla would see her. She got into the shower and just put the hot water on.

She felt the water burn against her skin and she took a cloth and dumped soap onto it then started to scrub her skin roughly. The scrubbing wasn't enough for Skye, she kept scrubbing but she still felt dirty. She then started to cry and she jist couldn't stop, the water was starting to turn her skin red as she just stood there under the water.

After about ten minutes she finally got out of the shower, her pale skin was now bright red and some areas looked a bit raw. She grabbed a towel and started to dry herself off. She put her pants back on and then noticed a shirt off to the side. She put it on the looked to Tesla "thank you".

Suri Desmond

When Maria hugged her, Suri just held her close, she was going to be there for Maria in any way the girl needed her. When Maria finally let go and told her that her wound needed to be at least cleaned she sighed but didn't argue. She knew when not to argue with Maria and this was one of those times. She got back onto the table and listened to her friend.

"Your right, I have times when I just wanted to be done with dealing and just stick to my tattoo shop but I know I can't do that". When Maria poured the alcohol onto the wound she let out a mouthfulof swears and clenched her other hand. "Though some don't exactly get the choice, like some of your waitstaff, I bet when they signed up for this job they didn't expect to get there hands dabbled in blood. But thats life and now they are stuck".

When Maria was done fixing up her arm she smiled "thanks doll". She watched as Maria went to the doorway and called for Daniel, she got up and went to the small refrigerator in the room and grabbed a beer. She sat down in one of the chairs and opened the beer, then started to sip at it.

He was with Jackson briefly, or so it seemed. The bodies, or pieces of, were stacked in the basement and out of sight. As far as the bloody carpet was concerned, it had been rolled up and tossed in the back of Jackson's truck, soon to be burned. He had splashed a bit of bleach and vinegar over necessary stains and blood, diligent in removing all smears and spots.

Cole strode into the dining area, fetching himself a bottle of vodka. He lined up ten or so shot glasses, considering everyone in the restaurant could use a drink. He stopped halfway through, glancing up at Maya with disdain. "You think liking sex is a fucking excuse, Maya?" Suddenly his tone was serious, his agitation heightened by her light demeanor about the situation. "Tell you what," he began pouring again, looking at the shot glass and trying not to grit his teeth with anger, "Pull your head out of your 'perfectly shaped' ass, close your fucking mouth, and make some use of yourself." Nodding to her, he downed a shot then continued, "And I don't mean by spreading yourself on linen."

Though he hated to be so brutal, so harsh, she could have threatened not only his life, but his sister's and the others working at the bistro. He was already unhappy enough in the state of things; when Maya tossed an FBI agent into the mix, well, he could of choked her out. He felt that she too freely threw around the fact that she was close with the family, something he would address sooner rather than later. He figured it was best to speak his mind and have a drink versus the alternative. Typically bistro employees weren't thrust helplessly into such situations. The family tried to avoid it at all costs. Presumably, this was why Big Daddy was so upset with Maria about Lana.

Looking around, he wondered where Skye and the dancer had gone. He called out, "Everyone should come down to the bar, have a little chit chat." For a moment he peered towards the terrace, rolling his eyes, just knowing that Maria was patching up the kid translator. She was only going to get into more trouble, tending to people like some mother hen.

Cole shot a look at Lance, "Want a drink, man?" With that, he slammed down another shot and gasped hungrily, the alcohol burning his throat. Odd shadows played on his face, a castoff of the evil that existed in him. His indigo eyes were wakeful as ever, his six or so feet of posture firm and austere.
