The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 4 authors
The store was sufficently lit by the glass panels outside, so she could see most of the store. Lydia stayed crouched and brushed strands of hair off her face, pale with nerves. As the walkers outside picked up pace she found shelter near a rack of clothes at the back of the store, near a perfume stand. In order to cover up her and her newfound partners scent she sprayed a ton of perfume around the room, causing her to cough a lot. She slid down behind the clothes rack and ripped into her backpack, she took out a bottle of water, a can of tuna and a can opener. "Don't suppose you have a spoon do you?"
He payed close attention to the windows, watching a few Rotters shamble by. Keith took out a granola bar and quickly scarfed it down, needing the quick sugar boost for his system.
Lydia continued to drink the water until she had a quarter of it left, she offered her water to him too.
Standing up he chucked the decoy into the middle of them, then made hell dead for leather towards the corner, he was halfway there when he realized the decoy had failed. Now the undead were coming for him. Stopping in mid path he drew his gun and took steady aim, his first shot hit a walker directly in the skull. With barely a pause he put down another one while backing up. His back hit the wall of a building and he fired off two more rounds. They were close now, almost within reach. He drew the 34. and placed the barrel under his jaw. His finger was tightening on the trigger when he saw the fire escape nearby, it was risky but he holstered his guns and made a mad dash for it, twisting out of the grip of the walkers that almost caught him. He reached the escape and quickly climbed the ladder, then put a few bullets into the braces. Causeing it too fall of completely, and isolate him above the horde. "Out of the frying pan.."
While she zipped up her backpack one of the dead limped by, Lydia froze in horror, hiding by the clothes rack and hoped the incredibly strong perfume smell would hide her own scent. It went on its way and ignored the panicking survivors. She breathed a small sigh of relief, the more she conserved ammo the better.
A few kicks was all it took to break the boards, he easily slid into the window with his weapon at the ready. It was a small apartment, yet extremely dark. Turning on his light he noticed blood stains on the walls, but could hear no movement in the room. Moving cautiously he walked into the kitchen, quickly finding the fridge. He opened it to find nothing but some rotting food, afterwords he tried the sink which refused to yield any water. With a sigh he left and moved towards another room, this one held some promise. In the form of an old gas powered generator. Carefully placing his light so it shone on the generator he opened the gas compartment and looked into it, discovering a decent amount of gas. Whoever lived here must have died before they could use it. Leaving the generator he checked the door out, but hearing moans from outside he decided it was best to leave it shut, instead he returned to the fridge and pulled out a gallon of spoiled milk. After pouring it down the drain he walked to the room with the generator and used an old tube he found laying around to siphon the gas into the jug, filling it about halfway.
Placing the jug by the window he was about to climb out when something tackled him, knocking his gun from his hand but making it where the light was just pointing his way. It was one of the undead, pinning him down it tried to bite his neck, but he was able to grab it just under the jaw and hold it back while struggling to grab his knife. I am not..dieing...here! He rolled over so he was on top and drew the knife, digging all eight inches right up through the jaw and into it's brain. Panting he slowly stood up and checked for bites, thankful to find none. Grabbing the jug of gas he stepped back out onto the fire escape.
Instead of listening to Keith's reason, she crouched and cautiously went down the sidewalk, using wrecked cars or any other debris as cover. As they got through the street Lydia was surprised to find the roads empty, free of walkers. One or two decapitated ones, but Lydia didn't think about them. Then she saw it... There was a nightclub, the same one she performed in during the apocalypse, there were security guards with guns inside, the perfect oppertunity. While she considered her oppertunities one of the dead limped at her. It was clear she had to go inside. She tried the door, a tad stiff but unlocked. Inside it stank of flesh and death, the decay of skin. She gagged as a result of the vile smell.
Business had to be dealt with, she immediately started searching the bodies, this was the first site of the Atlanta outbreak. Security guards had little, clearly they had already been looted. She was wary of them coming back, but that wasn't the first thing on her mind.
