Intelligent || Reckless || Self-Reliant || Cunning
Kain is manipulative and chooses to work under the radar like any good assassin/mercenary. It all calls for the occasion; what he wants and what approach he must take on. However, no matter the request, he will insist to work alone.
He is often under-looked and underestimated by his outward behavior he demonstrates so openly, as if without a filter among his fellow acquaintances. Flirting strongly, pressing someone's temper, speaking his mind, to name a few. But there is more cunning in there than most people know. Only few have the keen eye to know otherwise. In fact, chances are if he's being so bold, reckless and a nuisance, there's a far bigger objective in the other hand that people aren't looking at. He's made it routine enough, that people can scowl roll their eyes and bring it back to idiocy, thinking it so typical of him. All the while, he gets to unleash some fuse, particularly if he's being harsh and blunt with people in the process and make off with some goods.
To Kain, nobody is off limits. One way or another, he finds a way to get what he wants enjoying a few perks along the way. And occasionally, consequences.
Independent as he is, he manages to avoid being completely unpleasant company.

ImageLester was more willing to keep Kain than whoever his mother may be. That says many things alone to Kain; that he was a result of a one night stand, an accident, and whoever the biological woman was, was extremely cold and stupid. Bullseye never kept Kain from the warmth of his heart which was always well known to Kain. Instead Kain was a means of leverage and guilt over heroes and citizens, and above all a means to form his own weapon and leave another mark on the world should he pass sooner than intended. It was a near impossible outcome, but it was insurance to assure no one would actually best Bullseye.

Lester dragged Kain into jobs with him as the most efficient way to obtain the right skills for the future, testing his wit and improvisation abilities along the way. Though it was a harsh method, Bullseye never let his prodigy die and it was effective and great preparation for when they ventured solo. Despite Kain seeing eye-to-eye with his father, Lester pre-warned he wouldn't be working with Kain longer than necessary. He pointed out it would be more effective to work independently for a mutual cause and cover more ground. More hits done equaled more money. Then they'd meet up again. At that time, Kain was faithful and having discipline embedded into him, so he would share his spoils, seeing Lester as a mafia boss whom earned his respect, loyalty and fear.
ImageWhen Bullseye's phone rang in a counting, Kain watched a different expression cross his father's features. He knew he had either received a handsome offer or one he would thoroughly enjoy. And with that, his departing words were "you know what to do," even adding mock affection as he kissed Kain's forehead. He disappeared from there.

He wasn't sure what time it had been since he'd last seen or got in contact with Lester but one day he received a call to announce the death of Bullseye done by a vigilante known as Daredevil. Of course, that fact had been somewhere lost in translation...

ImageHe, like the others responded to the good robot thing announcing a mandatory class in 15 minutes by leaving his luxurious penthouse and pressing L1 as required. The elevator moved quickly to the floor and even in that brief silence, he thought it could do with some modifying and some elevator music. Just because he was easily labelled evil, didn't mean he had lack of interests or enjoyment. Music was one of them.

Stepping onto the first floor, he saw Alfred and his crate which generally implied confiscation of weapons. Kain sighed out before approaching and rolled his neck around, trying to lose the tension there. Before he forfeited his weapons, he held up a finger that was oddly not in objection. "Elizabeth forfeited hers?" Standing on purely neutral territory or at least not favoring those inclined to do bad, he granted no response. Kain smirked, rolled his eyes and reached into his black jean pocket, pulling out a pack of cards and dumped them into the crate, catching glimpses of other interesting weapons as he did so trying to pair the weaponry to the individual. Alfred shifted, not letting Kain observe and calculate beyond his time. In turn, Kain's gaze shifted back to the butler and he went to step into the room. "Mr. Python," he prompted.
So he probably wasn't the first to try or Alfred knew the cunning of Kain too well. He looked off and sighed out his nose as he gave up his nifty little belt of small hunting knives then outstretched his arms for Alfred to pat him down. "Your power is your wisdom old man." He smirked when Alfred waved him through the room. "And it's Kain. Just Kain."
Kain's hazel eyes drifted through the present people. The green clan was slowly assembling. And Max Stark was looking popular with Ethan and his favorite girls; Cree and Elizabeth. Both favorites for different reasons. Even Ethan could bump up to a favorite list if he robbed a bank from time to time with his abilities. Kain shook himself out of it and tried not to get caught up on who to prioritize if they went rogue. Because the if in this place was huge.

He moved where Natchios sat, leaving one seat between them. "Don't let my presence bother you sweetheart,"he said pressing his tongue to his cheek to poorly cover a menacing grin. "You got a pen?"

ImageFor a man with superspeed as a power, Caleb moved slowly, trudging to the elevator. 15 minutes was plenty anyway, though he had already spent 10 simply remaining in place.

Caleb never wielded weapons or carried them around seeing as his body was one enough and that was known to many people. Caleb wasn't gifted at wielding weapons anyway. "Good afternoon Mr. Kent. No weapons on your being today either I assume?" Caleb shook his head. "Nope." And as easy as that, entered the classroom. He would've been happier sitting with Magni but unfortunately the male's current company, Wren, repelled Caleb from the idea. She could just talk, and talk, and talk. Even when Magni struggled for real conversation that was kinda cringable. He searched for another option. He could have equally sat alone and waited for someone to be stuck next to him or choose to sit by him on the off chance but he was in the mood for company.
He super-sped to the seat near Astrid then smiled brightly. "Hey, Astrid. Thena." He greeted as she was close enough. "Training sesh at this time... What do you think's up with that?" It wasn't a bugging curiosity just a conversation opener.

"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. It is now 13 00 hours. I have been requested to inform you that class will begin in 15 minutes on floor L1. Attendance is mandatory. Those whom do not attend will have to answer to Mr. Stark and Mr. Wayne." It took Jai awhile to register the alarm going off or even hear J.A.R.V.I.S to begin with. Jai was still deep in sleep enjoying the most pleasant dream that involved coconut bras and two lovely red headed friends of his. The alarm ruined that dream and Jai was forced to push himself up out of bed. Jai let his feet hit the ground and stretched his body while hearing a few joints pop from the process. Jai enjoyed his sleep very much. Almost as much as he enjoyed food and girls.

Jai stood up and began to zip around the room as he showered, brushed his teeth, changed, and ate breakfast in seconds. Once he was done, he ran just as fast down several flights of stairs since the elevator would only take longer for him. He reached the door and out of laziness, vibrated himself fast enough to past through it so he wouldn't have to go through the trouble of opening it himself. Jai was then greeted by Alfred. "Hey, Alfred. What are we doing today? Is it fun training exercises? Do we get to fight each other? We should so do that. I'd knock everyone down in a flash. Pun intended. Or are we final gonna go on some bad ass mission outside the school where we get to save the day. Imagine all the girls that would throw themselves at me after I save everyone since my powers are so awesome. I'm like a human vibrator..." Alfred used the second pause to raise his hand and Jai was silent for the brief moment. "Good morning, Master Jai. Cellphone please." Jai looked confused but then gave up his phone.

"Your ring too, sir. You'll get it back after class." Jai looked down at his ring and hesitated before eventually giving it to him. He would have just ran off and not given it away if he wasn't fortunate enough to have his hoodie made of the same material. It was the only thing that kept his powers from killing him. Jai ran into the rom and zipped around the area knocking over papers and books. He eventually stopped at the front next to Wren and looked over at Coulson and started firing away questions one after the other. "So what's going on today? And why do you have a bin full of weapons and my ring? Are we fighting each other? Is taking our stuff away supposed to keep us from killing each other? Wouldn't we kill each other by now? Is there gonna be food? What kind?" Jai kept going and going on and it was barely audible at this point unless someone had super fast hearing and could hear him talking about how he wanted tacos.

Jai finally stopped and took a breathe when he noticed Wren having an exchange with Magni. He immediately butted in and began talking just as fast as before with his best friend. "Hi Wren. Nice bra. Is it new? I like it. Makes me think of this dream I had that you were in except the bra was coconuts and the coconuts were a lot smaller because that make the dream better. It still looks nice though. But you always look nice since your hot. I'm hot too. If we're both hot, that means we should make babies so that way the world gets more hotness. But I don't want babies. Babies are gross and I'm still sort of a baby because of that whole speed force thing. So no babies. What are you and Magni talking about?" He looked over at Magni and grinned. It was his turn now. "Magni, you're like super strong, right? Would yo let me punch you? Alex was telling me some thing about force and how if I run super fast, I can make enough force to knock out a god and you're sort of a god so can I punch you and see if it works?"

ADRIENNE STRANGE
attireβ”‚xXXβ€’XXsongβ”‚weatheredXXβ€’XXmoodβ”‚languid

Most would assume Adrienne to be a morning person. Intelligent, stoic, a complete perfectionist; such traits were often possessed by the likes of the organised early birds, up a the crack of dawn, prepared for the day before it even broke. But Adrienne is loathe to stereotypes, and this one in particular could not be further from the truth.

In truth, the girl was similar to a sloth in terms of sleeping patterns, and tended to remain enveloped in her star-adorned duvet long after her initial awakening, simply enjoying the coziness her beloved blankets brought, and perhaps keeping herself company with one of the many books that were stacked about the apartment.

This particular morning, Adrienne had awoken around ten-ish, and decided against getting up, instead opting for dozing, face warmed by the soft sunlight that filtered through her window's blinds. Then, after the novelty had started to wane, she'd climbed sluggishly out of bed, prepared some breakfast, and returned to her bed. A single slice of toast slotted between her lips as she held a book in one hand and a mug of hot chocolate in the other. She'd propped up some pillows as to soften the bed's backboard, and spent the next two and a half hours engrossed in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

It was halfway through chapter thirty that Adrienne's perusing was interrupted by a familiar English accent, "Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. It is now 1300 hours. I have been requested to inform you that class will begin in 15 minutes on floor L1. Attendance is mandatory. Those whom do not attend will have to answer to Mr. Stark and Mr. Wayne."

Adrienne's glanced up at the speaker with furrowed eyebrows, before reluctantly folding down the corner of the book and clamoring out of bed. She passed the mirror, before backtracking as to get a better look at her reflection. A grizzled individual stared back, ebony hair a tangled mess and a chocolate fringe around her mouth from her morning beverage. Adrienne clicked her tongue, pondering the amount of time she had to adjust herself into an image at least slightly presentable. Her expression was skeptical. Fifteen minutes, huh? She sighed, shrugging. "Not likely."

Precisely ten minutes later, Adrienne had managed a quick shower -a severe change from her typical interminable soaks- and thrown on a typical outfit. Even during physical training, Adrienne could often be seen wearing her usual trench coat and trousers, as opposed to the more suitable attires of her 'classmates'. Sports bras and supersuits were hardly Adrienne's style, and she detested exercise about as much as she cherished slumber.

A minute after that, Adrienne was approaching the balding gentleman and his table of weaponry. Alfred knew better than to bother stopping her, and instead he offered her a raise of the eyebrow and a wry smile. "Slept in, Miss Strange?"

Adrienne offered him an equally satirical expression. "That implies an initial intent to get up early. I had nothing of the sort."

Alfred tutted disapprovingly, "Perhaps you should change that."

Adrienne passed him, raising her hands as her tied her dark locks up into a ponytail. "Perhaps. But I doubt I will."

The doors slid open with a smooth snickt, and Adrienne gazed around the room scrutinizingly. Her classmates had already begun to knot and bundle. The little groups dotted around the room like flies on fly paper, some significantly less comfortable than others. Catching sight of Nathaniel, Adrienne stepped to join him, only for Matthew to catch her eye. He was stationed by his lonesome, and even a girl as stony as Adrienne had to note his appearance of despondency with a hint of sympathy.

Just a hint, though.

Tucking her hands into her pockets, she approached his back, looking over him with perusal. A teasingly pitying look touched her features, "What a depressing sight."

Max sat leaning back in his chair as he watched the others file in. First came Magni, his brutish Asgardian acquaintance. Magni went straight towards Wren and the front of the classroom. Max had previously noted their odd friendship. It didn't fit, yet they always seemed to be around one another. A few others filed in before he saw the first of the the people he uually sat with enter the classroom. It was Cree. Max smiled at her as she rushed towards him, talking about her latest robotics project. She was always so excited when it came to these things. Not that Max minded, she was the only one he could get extremely nerdy with. He appreciated that part of their friendship, along with the mutual trust they had built.

While Cree was telling Max about her robotic dog, Max saw Aiden and Ethan walk in. Aiden took up his usual place near the back. He never sat with them in class. Max wondered why, but Aiden was odd, and it was best not to question him. Max knew Aiden was there when he was needed. Ethan walked toward them and waited patiently for the topic to change. Max nodded to him, but lost focus when he saw Liz Natchios step into the classroom. Max and Liz had an odd relationship to say the least. He was definitely attracted to her. She was just a little bit over bearing. He had an idea that she was crushing on him. It took a lot to make Max commit though. He was too much of a flirt, and he didn't want to give that up for just anything. He pushed the thoughts to the back of his mind as she approached, and flashed his signature nervous smile towards her.

Max watched the rest of his fellow extra ordinary humans file in as small talk went on all around him. He was uncharacteristically quiet this morning. He was bothered by the fact that he was going to have to go into the training session without his suit. He always felt useless without it. Max knew he was still as smart, if not smarter, than anyone. He knew he could go fist to fist with most, but people like Magni and Bane would crush him. Those same people didn't dare try him when he had his suit on. They would much rather keep him as their ally. He just wasn't as confident without it. His inner musings were interrupted by the sight of Lilly entering the room. Max couldn't lie. He had a major thing for blondes. They weren't close or anything, but he always smiled anyways when he saw her. Max looked away and returned to his thoughts.

"I thought you could not become ill? How would you have the plague?" Magni said before sniffing the air and adding, "And as for your odor, it is no more unpleasant than the next human." Wren almost did a double take at the comment not knowing if she should feel insulted or laugh. So she laughed, "Glad to know that I only stink like all the other 'puny mortals'." She said it in her best Magni impersonation. "Because... You know, Asgardians smell like Japanese cherry blossom." Ok so she'd be lying if she said Magni didn't smell pleasant like most men. It was apparent that not all Earthly things were foreign to him, such as showers and deodorant.

"Yes, the Iliad. Sometimes referred to as the Song of Ilion, or the Song of Ilium. By the author Homer. Depicting the destruction of Troy. Father thought it best if I was familiar with human literature. I do not see the point in it. Greeks are so......dramatic. A feeble people to be sure." Wren nodded her head in slight surprise at his knowledge of the subject. "You know Oh brutish one, that learning about other cultures is important... Like the Trojan horse. Ingenious idea if you think about it. Hiding in a structure depicting a religious matter to gain entrance to an impenetrable city." Wren knew Magni was stubborn and thought he was perfect in his knowledge the way he is. But everyone can learn something knew. "Even you can learn a thing or 2 from Earth's history.

"No. I have already decided to sit here. I shan't move. You are as adequate company as the next. You are as uninteresting to me as the next." Wren scoffed, resting her arm on the back of the chair before her as Magni motioned towards the room. "Well don't you just know how to make a girl feel special? "Besides, what evidence do you have that you are the reason they avoid sitting up here? Perhaps it is me. Not that I care. Makes no difference to me if you, or anyone sits near me." Wren leaned towards him slightly, raising a curious brow. "So if you don't care if anyone sits near you... Then why choose to sit next to me? After all, I'm as 'uninteresting' as everyone else in here." He could play his tough act all he wanted but Wren knew that somewhere in there was a normal caring person. Plus people don't just choose to sit next to her unless they like her because she's annoying.

Wren knew Jai had entered before seeing him. Between the quick breeze of air, books knocking over then to the rapid fire at Coulson. It was only a matter of time before his attention shot in her direction. "Hi Wren. Nice bra. Is it new? I like it." Hell of a way to start a conversation. Wren glanced down at her bra, tugging at the top of it before looking back up at him. "Makes me think of this dream I had that you were in except the bra was coconuts and the coconuts were a lot smaller because that make the dream better. It still looks nice though. But you always look nice since your hot. I'm hot too. If we're both hot, that means we should make babies so that way the world gets more hotness. But I don't want babies. Babies are gross and I'm still sort of a baby because of that whole speed force thing. So no babies. What are you and Magni talking about?"

Wren shook her head, laughing. "First of all... FUCK! Man seriously!? You're dreaming of me in a tiny cocoanut bra!?" She raised her hand to smack him in the back of the head. "And you do realize making babies involves conception? With your speed you'd be what?... Done in 5 seconds, give or take. So how would someone who couldn't make it past half a minute supposed to work with someone who has stamina so high that they never sleep? Think on that for a minute." She grinned teasingly, "I need someone like Terminator over here." Wren playfully smacks Magni's bicep. "And we're talking about Magni's pent up unconditional love for me... It's quite moving."

Happy that it wasn't her turn anymore, Wren grabbed the back of the chair and leaned back so that Jai and Magni could see each other. "Magni, you're like super strong, right? Would yo let me punch you? Alex was telling me some thing about force and how if I run super fast, I can make enough force to knock out a god and you're sort of a god so can I punch you and see if it works?" Wren started cracking up laughing before Magni could speak. She knew Magni would kick his ass. "My strength knows no bounds, and I am a God. Very well. Only if you give me the same curtsy. I wish to see a human body turned into a puddle." Wren wouldn't actually mind it if they fought except for the fact she would almost guarantee that Jai would loose. And she liked the kid on occasion. "Did you know that Magni is a god? I didn't know that. It's not like he says it nearly every time he speaks." Wren grinned deviously towards Magni.

Phil sat somewhat patiently at the desk in the front of the classroom, strumming his fingers along the wooden surface. He wouldn't admit out loud that he was happy that class today was going to be brief... Well at least the portion including him. He glanced down at his watch. Upon seeing the time, Phil cleared his throat which got Alfred's attention. With their gaze met, he motion his index and middle finger beckoning Alfred to come join him. Luckily for Alfred, the crate containing the abundance of weapons was on wheels so he was easily able to roll in into the classroom and up to the front beside the desk. Phil then put up his hand motioning for everyone in the room to quiet down. "It's time to begin. Whomever isn't here... Well hopefully they show up before the training begins or they'll get an automatic failure for the exercise."

He looked over towards Alfred who then began to speak. "I know you all are less than content with the collection of your weaponry and gadgets upon entry. But for the sake of the exercise today we are limiting everyone to their basics... Which is quite literally the clothes on your back." Alfred reopens the crate before the classroom, "I apologize," He clears his throat, "Ms. Luther, your gauntlets and contact lenses if you have them in. Mr. Stark, your suit will have to remain in the classroom during the exercise. And Ms. Wakandas, Dumisami must either wait in the room during the exercise or return to your penthouse." Alfred addressed each of the students as he spoke. "If I have missed anything, or one of you are trying to pull a fast one on me please have some shred of decency to place the items in the crate." He motioned towards the crate before facing Phil slightly.

"Alright then," Phil spoke up once again, "As you guys can very well assume today's class time and training is nothing like our ordinary classes. Well, if you can call them ordinary. Out of the kindness I have allowed you all extra time to sleep in... or do whatever it is you all do in the mornings." He made a shooing motion with his hand before continuing, "This exercise is going to test you all on varying levels that will exploit your weakest levels. Alfred and I have been around you all a long time. At least, long enough to know what each of your strengths and weaknesses are."

Before Phil felt like he was going to completely loose their attention, he decided to cut to the chase. "So today you all will be Saving the Civilian." It didn't take long for Wren to chime in, "What?... Like that cheesy movie with Kurt Russell?" Phil sighed, nodding his head, "In theory yes. Alfred and I have spent a very long time preparing this particular exercise. You all will be given a partner and arena. Once in your given arena's everyone is given 5 minutes to save the civilian." It sounded simple enough right? Leave it to Wren to catch on, "... What's the catch?"

Phil smiled, which was indeed a rare sight. "Your partners have been decided upon by Alfred and I. Powers, relationships and abilities have effected how we decided to split you all up. For example some are because you have conflicting personalities, similar powers, no powers, genius level I.Q.s, etc... Then each pairing has had their particular arena designed specifically for them to test them in different areas depending on their own skill set and weaknesses."

Before concluding, Alfred held up his index finger to interject. "You are given only 5 minutes to save your civilian. If you fail to save them in the time frame or do not work together you will fail the exercise. And those that take in prohibited objects such as weapons, enhancements or anything other than the clothes you are wearing you will get an immediate failure..." Then Phil added, "And you will not be allowed to attend the dance Saturday night." He crossed his arms over his chest to show that he wasn't kidding before asking, "Any questions?"

Image"Hi. And I don't know? Likely something physical and of mild intensity at the least." Astrid responded. He nodded along and shrugged. He didn't even have a guess or care much for one. Whatever happened, happened. They were along for the ride once they entered the classroom. And Caleb was fairly certain he could take whatever came his way. "I should have had some coffee," she added after a moment.
"Maybe you should have." He agreed. "Obviously you need whatever substance you can to be in peak condition." He smirked at her.

When Astrid grabbed his arm he looked down at her hand then up at her startled face. "He's not actually going to hit him is he?" Caleb followed her gaze to see Magni and Jai and Wren just kicking back. Magni looked moments away from throwing a punch, that much was right. "I don't know. Depends." To finish any prompts of what, he continued. "It depends if Jai moves fast enough or if Magni's that determined to hit him." He replicated a casual shrug and smile. Little fights were entitled to break out in the academy. Not everyone saw eye to eye and some people would literally ask to test the others skill. He didn't need his super hearing to gather that was likely the case. If it were a heated instance, the room would be upside down.

Phil begun his speech up the front of the class and Caleb glanced to Astrid. "Relax." She was such a den mother. When his ears caught to save the civilian. They didn't even get to pick their partners from a hat. Again, he looked to his closest company hearing Phil announce the pairs are based on relationships and similar power. The arena accounting for their strengths and weaknesses. Astrid and he struggled to work together so he was a little worried they'd be at each other's throat for this one. "Good guess," he muttered. He rolled his eyes back to the front and awaited the pairing.

Image"What a depressing sight." Matt simply cocked his head back to confirm the face to the voice he was familiar with and grinned. "Hey, stranger." He admittedly thought himself a little more clever than he was for playing on her name in that way. "I'm sorry my face makes you feel that way. But me and Casper go way back. And we have a silent bond and you're actually ruining this intimate moment." He shifted in his seat to look at her from a more comfortable position, making a show of wrapping his arm around the spare seat. "How have you been today anyway?" His grin returned and poor act dropped.

Pretty soon, Phil was gaining the students attention, causing him to turn back to the front. He didn't entirely like what was being said about exploiting weaknesses but at least he was outright about it. And then like Wren had asked he was waiting for the real punch line. "Er, that doesn't sound promising," he commented quietly. "We're pretty much an even pair right?" He asked Adrienne, though his focus shifted so intensely she could have crept away by that time. He just wanted to delude hope and be paired with someone he could have at least half trust. "Any questions?" Matt looked around. He personally had none for the moment but there were always those productive ones that he didn't think of until they were brought up.

Liz returned Max's smile, their relationship was strange. They were distant but at the same time they were together, hard to explain. Liz had always had a crush on him but it took awhile for them to actually get together and even then it wasn't a normal relationship.

Liz turned toward the entrance of the class seeing who was showing up after her; Thena, who she talked to now and then. Astrid, she didn't really talk to her but she didn't hate her either. Caleb, arrogant unlike his father but she was friendly to him. Renee, an interesting girl. Jai, lots of talking from him but it was tolerable. Lastly, Kain. It was an obvious hate between Kain and herself but it was mostly hate from her end and annoyance from his. He used her hate towards him to get under her skin and it usually worked. Which is why she tensed up when he decided, purposely, to sit a seat away from her.

"Don't let my presence bother you sweetheart," She rolled her eyes, he knew damn well his presence would make her skin crawl. "You got a pen?" She finally turned to him "I don't think you'll need one, and even if you did I wouldn't give you one." With that she turned away from him and was determined to ignore him for the rest of the time they had left of sitting there.

She didn't pay much attention to the conversations that were happening in the class but Wren's was hard to ignore, especially when a dream, of Jai's, about her being in a coconut bikini top was mentioned. It was interesting to hear her reaction to it and hilarious. She couldn't imagine if anyone said that to her in front of everyone in class. Jai was nearly as talkative as Wren, which is probably why they got along so well. She couldn't handle either one for too long but Jai was tolerable for her.

She turned her attention to Phil and Alfred, who had moved to Phil's side, as they revealed the exercise for the day. Five minutes to 'save the citizen' without your weapons? Well at least some of us have powers That was her thought until he mentioned that the exercise would exploit each of their weaknesses which was not good for her, or anyone really. Her weaknesses usually dealt with her image of herself and the obvious human thing.

Everything was interrupted by Alex and Joker Jr in the middle of a physical fight which was quickly cooled down. Though Alex was still boiling everything cooled down. Joker Jr was probably the one to start it, not physically of course. He's more of the mental and emotional fight starter. He digs at your emotions that will most likely have an effect on you until you overload. Liz didn't like that, well no one really did and she also had Kain to worry about.

"Well now that that is all taken care of... Your pairings." Phil walked back around the desk, flipping open the file folder that rested on top of the wooden surface. After a minute of fingering through papers, he grabbed a single page with an "Ah ha!" He moved back around towards the front of the desk, leaning back against it. "Well seeing as to how we are missing a few students there will be slight modifications to the pairings... And there will be one group of 3 instead of 2. I'll say the names of each group, and the floor number you will report to. Each floor has been configured to the arena designed for your particular group. The simulation won't start until you all are in the rooms with the doors shut. Until that point each area will look like a simple concrete room."

Phil could tell the students were slightly impatient to know who they were partnered with. But before that, Coulson wanted to leave them waiting a bit more. "Just a reminder... You all have only 5 minutes to save your civilian. And that can be a completely different task depending on the arena. It can vary between saving them, freeing them, protecting them or just reaching them. If your civilian dies, then you fail. Although they are just dummies, a shot through the head or falling into a pit of fire will kill them." He holds up his index finger, "If you die it will also result in a failure." Phil then proceeded to answer the question before it was asked, "And yes it is more than possible for you to die in there."

Mr. Coulson then proceeded to name off the pairings and floor numbers from his document.

OOC: Phil is only telling everyone their partners and floors. The arena descriptions is just for you all to know what it will be like when their simulations start in case you need to plan out what is going to happen in PMs or if you need to ask me any questions :)

Max stayed in his thoughts until Phil started talking. He hardly noticed the commotion between Joker Jr. and Alex. Not that it really mattered to him, he didn't really care too much for either of them. Alex was a bitch, and Jr. was the definition of evil. Max didn't have to wait very long for Phil to reveal his partner considering his name was in the first pairing. "Max and Astrid will be on LL29." Max couldn't help but crack a smile. He had no problem with Astrid. He wasn't sure how they were going to handle a challenge though. He didn't have his suit, and she was without her shield. Max could think fast and fight normal people, but that was nothing special. Astrid was still insanely talented, but neither one had really cool powers on their own. Nothing like Caleb, or Magni, or Olivia. Max was okay with it though. At least he wasn't paired with a gang green member.

He stayed in his seat and heard some pretty interesting pairings. He couldn't help but turn around and smirk at Liz when she was paired with Kain. He knew that would be interesting. He felt bad for Aiden, having to work with Enzo. He chuckled at the pairing of Anansi and Joker Jr. Anansi would love it. Jai seemed excited at drawing Lilith. Who wouldn't be? When Phil finished, Max walked towards the back of the room towards Astrid.

"Let's go Misses Cap." he said with a smile as he held his hand out to help her up. "It's not the world yet, but let's go save a dummy."

"Elizabeth Natchios and Kain will be on LL18" She couldn't believe he would pair her with the one person she couldn't stand. "Phil, please tell me your not serious. Please don't make me work with him." Honestly she knew he wouldn't change it but it was worth a try. When he refused her she stood up and left the room, she wasn't going to wait on him. She was ready to get this over with and wasn't going to waste her time waiting on him. Obviously she wouldn't be able to start the mission without him so she waited for him near the elevator. Five minutes to work together with the guy who was the son of the man who killed her mother. Yes, she was brought back but he still killed her and having the personality of Kain didn't really help him when it came to Liz.

He doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut and he usually refuses to work in a team to begin with. How Phil thought this would work was beyond her. Pairing people with their enemies was not a good idea and five minutes surely wasn't enough time for them to decide to get over their hatred in order to work together, at least not for her. She would rather work alone than work with him.

Kumiko sat as she watched everyone as their pairings were called. Some storming out of the room while other just simply joined their partners in a more civil way. Kumiko never could grasp the concept of her peers hating one another, there has never been anyone she hated to that point, dislike yes hate no. So finding out who her partner was didn't much bother her, she simply stood from her seat and walked over to Kallistrate "I suppose we should get going. I'm curious to see what our arena will be." She said waiting for her partner to join her.

The two had never worked together nor had they really encountered one another very often other than a 'Hello' here and there. It would be interesting to see how they worked together.

ImageCaleb could have laughed with how concerned Astird was of Jai and Magni show down meanwhile Alex and Junior engaged in a fist fight. He didn't hold much favor over one or the other, so he watched with no intention to move. Like most of his acquaintances.

Once all the stir settled over, and everyone got their seats, he heard himself paired with Thena which made him smile. They weren't particularly close with each other but she was a woman that held similar capacity of power to Caleb so whatever they did would be an exciting tale to tell afterwards, he was sure. So he was happy, especially compared to some of the other pairings. He knew he had it good.

Caleb stood up where his eyes traveled to Thena prepared as he was ever going to be. β€œI hope you don’t mind being stuck with me for five or so minutes.” He headed to the elevators assuming Thena would be in step. If not then it wouldn't have made a difference anyway. Nothing could begin without the other.

ImageHe shot Elizabeth a look from the corner of his eyes and smirked. The girl who had refused him a pen so coldly, even if she had it, was his partner. "Phil, please tell me your not serious. Please don't make me work with him." It was unfortunate for him but more unfortunate for her thus resulting in his pleasure. She and him both probably preferred it to be a versus match though.

She left the room, not waiting up on somebody as vital as her partner. Then any smug traces dropped from his face and he glared at the pair of Phil and Alfred. Obviously arguing was useless and they had no regard for who killed whose mother or father or severely injured them. But it was fine. He'd work in the same room with Elizabeth there, but he would not work with the girl.
He stood up, taking his time in stretching out his muscles then made his way to the elevator. When he saw Elizabeth waiting by them, he smiled and shook his head. "You didn't get far." He pointed to the elevator. "Wanna catch a lift together?" He grinned and slipped in once the doors opened and was incredibly tempted to push her out before the doors slid shut and ascended. But the sooner he got the task done and passed, the sooner he could return to tormenting her, freeish of charge. They only needed to survive each other.

ImageMatthew's attention shifted to Alex and the Joker in a fight, and Alex was relentless. But he still had half a mind to intervene. He wasn't one for brutality, meanwhile everyone else took the scene rather well. "Better than them, from the looks of things." Matt nodded in agreement with Adrienne, though it weren't much of a benchmark.

"'Even'? Please. I'd kick your ass." Was her next aloud remark. He smiled and shook his head not bothering much with the inevitable debate of powers verse no powers, who came on top discussion. Because powers did have the upper hand, much to his dislike.

In time, the pairs were announced. And he so badly wanted to hear his name next to other's wrong. Matthew groaned over Tommy's complaints in the background. Something about a boy scout and comparison to clowns and circus'. Wasn't like he was exactly thrilled with the pickings either. When Tommy revealed his hidden knife and threw it at the wall, he turned to Adrienne. "Switch," he proposed simply. Matt wasn't the type to fall for intimidation but the guy had a lot of issues and was a clear psycho, no different from the majority of the green gang. He'd prefer Olivia or even Lilith.

Jai seemed ecstatic about hearing his partner for the second time around and the girl had infatuation ability about her, but Matthew was convinced if you didn't wear green, you weren't safe from her.

He sighed out and moved swiftly to the front of the room. "Alfred, that guy is a psycho! There is no way..."
Matthew was cut off by a simple hand to stop talking then a gesturing wave out the room. He followed the prompt silently.

Matt was a little antsy about being paired with someone that had stashed a knife on his being throughout class and who he wasn't on great terms with.

He entered the room and waited for...whatever. Catman to ambush him probably.

"You didn't get far." She rolled her eyes at his comment, "Wanna catch a lift together?" He asked. She pushed off the wall "That was the idea behind me waiting..." She said as she stepped into the elevator after he slipped in. As the elevator took them to their arena she stayed quiet. They only needed to survive this with as little fighting as possible but she knew as soon as they got there the idea would fall apart. She would try to plan things out while he would just run into it, most likely. To bad they didn't know ahead of time what they were to face.

Finally the doors opened and she stepped out and turned to him before going into the room. "Look, I hate you and you hate me but we need to pass this stupid exercise. So are we on agreement to work together on this? She said hoping he would agree, at least they would be civil for the next five minutes. It couldn't hurt, but she didn't really have a backup plan for if he didn't agree.

She didn't wait for an answer, the more time they wasted the more time they had to spend together. She turned towards the door and opened it. She stepped in, it looked like a normal room but of course the simulation wouldn't start unless they bother were in the room. She had to prepare herself for the worst.

ImageA silent ride would probably benefit them both so for once he kept his comments to himself. When the doors reopened he went to proceed to the room before Elizabeth cut him off. "Look, I hate you and you hate me but we need to pass this stupid exercise. So are we on agreement to work together on this?" He looked over her and her strict business facade. "I hope that's not your idea of a pep talk," he commented. But she was already off to the races again, pacing to the room. How very inspiring.

Kain didn't even like a group organized heist so how would he manage to work with Elizabeth. But they didn't know what they were walking into and if it came to life, maybe he'd have to depend on her. So of course, if it came to it, he'd work with her. They already had a silent shotgun to kill each other so no arena would get the privilege.

When he caught up to her in the room, the door shut on itself. He glanced over his shoulder to it then Elizabeth. "Of course I'll work with you, Liz." Then the room began it's transformation, the floor seeming to fall, all except where they stood. He shifted closer to the center of the tile that remained in tact before seeing other platforms available to them then the civilian on the opposite side. Kain looked down where darkness stretched endlessly. "Ladies first." There could be more of a catch. If they wanted Kain and Elizabeth to do more cardio and an aerobics, gymnast agility course they would.

She heard him enter the room and glanced over her shoulder to see the door disappear "Of course I'll work with you, Liz." She cringed at him calling her that like he was close enough friends with her but she would have to deal with that later. By the looks of this room they wouldn't really have much room for arguing or fighting with each other. Five minutes..huh Phil? Decent time not to get ourselves plummeted into darkness! she thought freaking out on the inside. "Ladies first." She glared at him and made the first step forward only to have to jump back into her original position after the platform began to crumble under her foot. "Great, Platforms that disappear and reappear as if that wasn't hard enough no they have to crumble if we stand on them too long! She yelled at no one in particular, but mostly Phil knowing he was probably watching.

She took a deep breath, calming herself down and thought of a plan. She didn't have much time since the simulation already started which meant the time had already started. "Ok, so I'll go first and get over while you kind of coach me through it. I won't have time to think and plan my next step so it'll be up to you. Once I get over to the citizen I'll do the same for you. She said looking at him over her shoulder. Liz wasn't sure if that was the best way to go or if it was even Phil's plan for them but it seemed the best at the moment so she hoped he would agree and also not make her fall to her simulated death.

Image"Aw, shut up." Matthew responded once his feet met solid structure again. He shook it off, only having to see the buildings topple again to know the importance of keep going. But being a little psyched out of the rhythm, he had to take a large run up like Tommy. And a sadistic little part in his brain wanted Tommy to misjudge a jump and have to rely on him for a rescue. But the next best thing he could do was race Tommy to the civilian. Prove he was faster and swifter, leaping from rooftop to rooftop in sync with douche Uncle Tom.

He skidded to a stop as the next building was no other than the imposing sky scraper. Again a disappointment to Dick's name, the only thought he had wasn't very masterful nor strategic. "A shame you don't where high heels. Could use it to smash the glass and run up to the top." His next best bet was just lunging through the damned thing with his top over his head but it wasn't very favorable. He bit his nail as he paced, trying to ignore the buildings closer to them turning to rubble. "You got any ideas? Otherwise I'm waiting 50/50 which way this building falls. We just have to reach the civilian before simulated death which would be until the sky scraper's collapse." Matt theorized.

All the last minute rescues in the world and the civilians always survived, even without new heart conditions.

ImageKain observed her carefully so he knew what to mimic or not mimic. But almost immediately she jumped back returning to her position as the platform disappeared. Kain shot up a brow and looked around the empty room that Elizabeth chose to yell at. Oh, he was judging alright. Sure, he was on the same page as her with the whole dislike for crumbling, moving platforms but he didn't yell at a room and cameras that didn't care.

"Ok, so I'll go first and get over while you kind of coach me through it. I won't have time to think and plan my next step so it'll be up to you. Once I get over to the citizen I'll do the same for you." Elizabeth said. Kain held her arm before she started playing extreme hop scotch. "Hold it..." Two concerns went through his mind. "First, what if you make all the platforms crumble and this one crumbles. Second, I don't trust you. And you don't trust me." Kain added and released her arm. His eyes evaluated the the shifting platforms. Shit. It pushed for two. They probably couldn't spare the time to find an alternate platform from which the other one jumped. Agonized she was right, he dragged his hand down from his temples to his jawline. "Let's do it your way. Be quick." He warned.

"I'd go left." He gestured to the platform slowly getting further away, but another looked to be crossing it's path as it panned across the abyss.

She scanned the platforms, there was no pattern to them. They just moved and disappeared randomly. She was ready for him to tell her where to go first but he grabbed her arm and began talking about how if the platforms all crumble and also how neither of them trusted each other. "We don't have time for this. We've already agreed to work together plus I'm not going to risk failing this just to make you fall into a pit of darkness because I don't like you." She said turning back to the arena. He let go of her arm "Mean I don't like you but I'm not going to fail because of it." She mummbled and followed his direction to step on the moving platform on the left but there was another that was crossing it's path.

She quickly jumped to the platform, grateful that it didn't crumble underneath her "Only some of them crumble! Maybe it's only the one's that aren't moving that crumble.." She yelled back at him. The platform she was now standing on only moved left to right and there just happened to be one that was moving forwards and backwards a ways in front of her. Without his direction she jumped to it but timed it wrong and nearly lost her balance and gasped. She fell to her knees after gaining back her balance but the platform hadn't crumbled yet, maybe her theory was correct or she was just lucky.

ImageKain's eyes had never been so intent on a person or object, in this instance the shifting platforms and Elizabeth. The conscious thought made his lips curl in a gentle snarl. She was easily a looker, especially in her suit but her good looks never quite countered the shared hatred. But he didn't have time to dwell on that. "Only some of them crumble! Maybe it's only the one's that aren't moving that crumble.." She yelled back to him. He eyes scanned the room, but of course it didn't want to reveal it's tricks or patterns without the person actually upon them. Kain shook his head but before he could shout back his response, Elizabeth had done another jump without his say so. Kain could see her balance wobble, making him want to rush forward and help her find her core again, before she crashed to her knees.

His muscles lost their auto-tense and he shared her relief. "Don't gamble with it, darlin'!" Kain called to her snapping her back to reality. She needed to get to her feet and find a new platform. "Another back and forth one approaching about..1 o'clock." Assuming it didn't crumble or change direction, it should have carried her far enough to leap to the citizen. Kain could direct her all he wanted, it was truly on her quick thinking and quick feet.

"Don't gamble with it, darlin'!" She heard him snap at her, she wanted to get angry but she knew she was wrong for moving without allowing him to weigh the options. She stood back up and dusted herself off "Sorry, Just wanted to try it out. Still not sure if I was just lucky though." She stood with her hands on her hips waiting for his direction but still scanning and planning herself. Once she got there she'd have to help him get there however things may change once she gets there herself. "Another back and forth one approaching about..1 o'clock."

She turned and saw the platform and leaped to it as soon as she saw it. She hadn't realized how fast the platform was moving until it was too late. Her foot hit the edge of the platform but slipped off. Moving quickly she grabbed the side of the platform, leaving herself hanging from the side with nothing but darkness beneath her. "Not good. Not good at all." She muttered to herself as she struggled to lift herself up to the platform. Nothing was working, she had no where to put her feet and her fingers began slipping. "Kain!" She yelled and cursing under her breath. How could she screw this up, it was going fine until she miscalculated. Not only did she have to depend on him to guide her through this hell but now she needed his help to get back up to the platform. At this point she didn't even care about the dance, she didn't want to fail. She was never really good when it came to that she took it hard.

Image"Shit." Elizabeth miscalculated the shifting platform causing her to cling to the edge of it. Then to show how desperate she really was she called his name. Kain scanned his options quickly but didn't have time to be over analytical. He jumped from his safety zone to a platform, looked around the area and jumped to another. He wobbled and steadied himself then glared at their foresaken simulation. "Fuck me." He muttered under his breath. Of all the people to go out on a limb on, it had to be her.

Though he and Elizabeth were both talented in the dexterity apartment, the obstacles they were used to jumping didn't move so unpredictably or crumble beneath them so often. Thus, Kain's false step to another platform that he had to quickly retract. Don't hesitate.
He scolded himself. The worse thing he could do in something like this was hesitate and not commit fully to a movement. If he was a sup he could have easily super leaped to Natchios or levitate on over to her and lended her the helping hand she needed. Instead he had to do the whole hop, skip, jump and pray you time it right obstacle to get to her.

Kain lunged on the next one that presented itself, falling to his chest to capture it and slid his long legs on top of the platform to rise to his feet. "Hold on. Almost there." He needed to wait a moment or two for the platform to shift in range. "Watch your fingers." He warned and jumped on the platform she latched on to.

Kain clasped her arm before it slipped and helped her up to the moving platform with him. A large proportion of him scolded himself for not taking advantage of her vulnerability but another part was glad he was classy enough to not let her fall in the abyss. "There you are." He stated once she was safe. The platform was a little too cozy for two people to stand on and they were drifting away from the dummy again. Kain sprang off to the final platform that had become a little too far by that time causing him to grab the edge. Kain growled lowly to himself but swung up his legs with enough effort then turned to face Liz. "Come on. Already saved you once. Why not again?" Kain stood near the edge ready to give her a hand if she needed.

Not long after his helping hand offer did the room transform to its original state. He was glad it was over and they had reached the civilian. He blew out his lips then strode to the door for their exit and held it open for her. "Piece of cake."

There she hung, struggling to keep her fingers from slipping while still trying to find a way back onto the platform. Hanging from a moving platform while trying to get yourself back onto it was not as easy as it sounded. Sure you could just use your upper body strength and pull yourself up but this thing is moving which means it changes direction which means it stops suddenly then moves again. It's not easy to do that, or she could just swing herself back onto the platform but with her luck she'd slip off the other side of it.

She looked down into the darkness which caused her hand to slip off from her freaking out inwardly about it. She regained herself and grabbed back onto the edge. Deep breaths. Stay calm. This is just a simulation. She thought to herself over and over again taking deep breaths. "Hold on. Almost there." Soon after Kain jumped onto the platform and caught her by the arm before it slipped. He pulled her up on the platform with him, which was a little smaller now that they shared it. Thanks. She said taking a deep breath. She was relieved he didn't take that opportunity to just watch her as she fell into nothingness.

She looked towards the dummy, they were close but they were moving away from it. Kain made his move but nearly missed and after what had just happened she felt safer just waiting there but she knew that wouldn't be good. "Come on. Already saved you once. Why not again?" He said offering her his hand. Normally she would have said something to save face from him saving her but they didn't have the time for that nor did she really feel it necessary. With that she jumped and reached for his hand in case she needed it.

As soon as she landed on the platform the simulation stopped. The room went back to normal and the door reappeared. Just wait until I get my hands on you Phil. She thought to herself and walked out of the door. She pushed the button to call the elevator.

Wren, more than anyone, was happy to be finished with that damn simulation. After all, the stakes of the dance were resting on her passing that stupid test and she nearly died from it. Totally not cool, and this asshat thought it was funny to write me up almost dying. Figures. Safe to say that she was in need of some serious party therapy.

"J.A.R.V.I.S.!!!" She shouted up at the ceiling as she walked through the halls of the giant building. "Yes Ms. Wilson" "I do believe it is announcement time my fine robotic fellow." She smirked. J.A.R.V.I.S. seemed to hesitate before responding, "Ms. Wilson might I just inform everyone per protocol?" Wren held up her index finger in argument. "You promised!" If robots and A.I.s could give sass, you better believe he did before his voice came in over the P.A. system throughout the building. "Good evening. Ms. Wilson would like me to inform you asshats that she is throwing a killer party in her penthouse. She'd like me to also say that you should 'be there or be square' and that it will be a party that only boring twats won't join..." He groaned, if that's even possible. "Thank you."

Wren was practically rolling on the ground as J.A.R.V.I.S. read the prescripted announcement she gave him. She probably had Phil and Alfred gunning for her but she didn't care. Because she also got J.A.R.V.I.S. to act as bouncer to her party and no one can enter without a mandatory tequila shot. Take that superiors! Now that that was taken care of, she had to round up her posse, so she made her way to the Infirmary.

It only took Wren a few minutes to reach the appropriate floor. She then whipped out her phone and started blasting that one song from Risky business that no one ever knows the name of, they just remember Tom Cruise half naked dancing. Once it was playing, she tucked her phone in her bra and prepared herself. When the timing was right she slid to a stop at the center of the entrance leading to the room Alex and Jai were held up in. "This is for you shitheads..." She pointed to them both before putting on her sunglasses and dancing to the song.

When the song came to an end, she threw her shades and made a pose. "I know, I know... Don't swoon because I won't catch you." Once Wren was done being full of herself, she shoved either one of them on the shoulders. "Come on bitches we have a party to get to... Mine!"

Boxers and lingering sand

Enzo was over everything. The incompetence of his partner left his angrier then when he started... And more naked. If Aiden had the balls to cross his path in the next century, he'd lose some important appendage in the blink of an eye. He stood in the hall outside his arena, trying to dust a majority of the lingering sand from his fit frame when he heard J.A.R.V.I.S.'s announcement. "Good evening. Ms. Wilson would like me to inform you asshats that she is throwing a killer party in her penthouse. She'd like me to also say that you should 'be there or be square' and that it will be a party that only boring twats won't join... Thank you."

He shook his head while chuckling to himself. Enzo couldn't help but wonder what Wren had to do to get J.A.R.V.I.S. to agree to saying that over the intercom. He figured he nothing better to do, and alcohol and partying seemed like a fine way to end a day like the one he just had. So he made his way to towards the elevator trying to decide if he should round up Junior or just go to his room. As he stood there waiting for the slowest machine in this damn building, he shook the sand from his hair. "God it's going to take 5 showers to get this shit off." He mumbled to himself.

Image"What about yours?" He laughed at his abilities being referred to as powers. It was a nice reference as it made them seem larger than life but technically they weren't powers in this academy. Obviously he couldn't respond as the state of his hot coco lay in jeopardy but when 'Liv saved it for him he was just washed over with a wave of relief. He took it back from the ghostly whisps of blue and white and smiled. "That was stressful. But respect, Olive. Add that to your resume." Matt pressed her floor number then jumped back to the power conversation. "Oh yeah! Mine comes with a lot of practice. If I don't practice then basically they deteriorate and it becomes a whole one step forward and two steps back process. I can, uh..parkour over rooftops, be stealth, blend into crowds, walk a tightrope, be humanly agile. All that impressive stuff." He shrugged.

While Kain was pondering on what it was like to save his nemesis all for the means of a dance and pass and fail mark, the AI had passed on a message for Wren including some asshats reference and attending a party, which was done in the typical charming fashion only she could pull off. He shuffled through his cards once more. Keeping his hands busy was often a subconscious cure for wanting to hurt someone and regret. Any state of emotion he didn't like really.
ImageSure, falling into darkness would be an unsatisfactory death and he had silently shotgunned to kill her himself if she evolved into a threat and would interfere with business, but what did pride really matter in the perfect moment? Elizabeth would inevitably evolve into a threat for him. This would all come around to bite him on the ass, no doubt.

He had to quickly change his mind off topic as he grew agitated. Kain was left to weigh on the pros and cons of attending a party. It would be full of people and drama he couldn't be bothered with but then again, connections and opportunity. And who was he kidding, he loved drama and action among others. Kain couldn't mature from it.

Spray would have to suffice as far as public appeal went and in no time Kain was at Wren's penthouse with the entry fee being a tequila shot. Kain cheersed to the air and downed it then stepped in.

ImageLilith had explained why the green clan didn't suit her and he felt it was reasonable and made sense. At least she wasn't as vain enough to believe she had the ultimate control over them and they'd rush to her aid at any time. But neither would he. So it became his turn to explain. "So basically what you're asking for is someone to seize you out of the predicaments you get yourself into? And that's me at this current point in time, is that right? I can't always be there to protect you Lilith. No one can. And the way I see it." Caleb smirked. "If you're not as sly enough to escape adversaries or sing them a siren song then you shouldn't have such power playing side kick anyway." He cocked his head to the side giving her a look that expressed mock sympathy. He saved himself with another smile to indicate he was joking again as he approached Wren's penthouse. "You could always try and stay out of trouble." He suggested, probably maniacally to her. Caleb knocked down the shot. "Run me through some scenarios.”

As he stepped in he observed most of the devils they had mentioned were present. He looked to Lilith and shrugged with an amused grin. β€œCome on. Hit me with one.” He said, ready to counter it, never losing the spark of amusement in his eye as he backed himself into his own little area.

About twenty or so minutes went by and she finally decided to leave for Wrens penthouse. She liked Wren, mostly because she didn't really have to contribute to a conversation with her she mostly just talked to herself and Kumiko just nodded. She left her penthouse and hit the button for Wren's floor. The elevator ride wasn't long and once she got to Wrens door she was stopped by none other than J.A.R.V.I.S. mandatory shot just to get in. Kumiko knocked it down like nothing and passed through the door. The other thing about being half cyborg alcohol has no affect on you at all it's useless to her.

She made it inside and immediately found a place to sit. there were only a few people there so she had chosen the wrong time to show up, plus Wren wasn't there which was not good of a host to do but Wren will be Wren. Kumiko sat and watched, her favorite pass time. Honestly it was strange she even decided to come, maybe it was the fear of being left out.

After changing she went took her time to get to Wrens penthouse. She rode the elevator and took the shot required to get into the party, which at this point wasn't exactly a party yet. She went off to find the drinks, she would need them. She didn't take notice to anyone that was there, most weren't people she hung out with anyway. There was Kumiko but she's super quiet and liked to be alone anyway so Liz decided not to bother her. There was Enzo and JR but there was no way she'd interact with them. Bane wasn't too bad but he was scary even for her. Of course Kain would be there, she'd need to be invisible to him. She didn't want to hear him gloating about saving her.

Astrid had decided to train more. Towards the end of the simulation, she had barely grazed through with her life before she could be crushed like a can. But it wasn't her life she worried about as much as jeopardizing Stark's and a "civilians". Had it been a real trap from some mad genius, they would all be crushed and it simply wasn't good enough. Max was naked without his suit but she had abilities without the token shield.
β€œAstrid.”
She turned to the voice and half smiled. β€œHeard of the simulation did you?”
β€œI did. It sounded challenging. Are you okay?” Astrid opened her mouth to try explain it to him but then J.A.R.V.I.S spoke. A message from Wren and already, Astrid cringed awaiting some disturbing phrase as they stood in silence until J.A.R.V.I.S concluded the announcement. β€œAsshats? Is that the popular reference to colleagues now?” A judgemental brow perked up.
β€œI didn’t say it!” Astrid claimed defensively. β€œWhat are you doing here anyway?”
β€œWell…” He looked around the space and shrugged as if it were casual convenience. β€œI was around the neighborhood. Thought I’d stop by. I just wanted to check that you were okay and doing well.”
β€œI'm okay,” she assured him gently and genuinely, and truly there weren't a foreign scar or bruise on her. Yet Steve paid it little mind, evaluating Astrid's condition for himself. β€œHonestly, I don't need saving.” She said softly but with enough enforcement to her.
Steve smiled slightly and looked her over with a certain sense of pride and love. Her development had been an impressive journey but she still had much to learn. β€œI won't keep you from the party.” Though it looked as if something else was going to be said. Something of a lecturing nature which would have made more sense coming from him than to encourage going to a party. Astrid smiled waiting for it with speculating eyes on him. When Steve didn't continue, she hugged him. β€œI'll see you soon.”

Astrid had arrived at her penthouse, got to shower and feel clean again and even get fashionably clothed and within what had felt like a delayed amount of time was still not the last to down the shot for entry to Wren's and enter her colorful penthouse. She pulled a face, setting the shot glass down by the bar giving a quick smile to Mathias then drifting elsewhere. She found herself near Kumiko which often had an interesting perspective but little to say for the most part. Astrid was aware of her quirk of people-watching that had its perks. People were so often mindless of silent but deadly and awareness of what they spoke. β€œAnything exciting yet?” She asked, as if it were channel flicking.

Oh Caleb. Turning my intentions to be such indelicate deeds. Nevertheless she accepted his own voice. Crude as he was hitting her with some reality, he had a point with no one truly being 100% punctual. "And the way I see it. If you're not as sly enough to escape adversaries or sing them a siren song then you shouldn't have such power playing side kick anyway." A burn for a burn, she supposed, that was fair. Though, he was wrong, but she wasn't going to reveal all the hidden underestimated little details. "You could always try and stay out of trouble." Lilith grinned at that with a laugh emerging from her throat. "Sorry. I guess I'll just...sing them a siren song and hope they're pirates." She mocked.

Lilith would only be deluding herself in pretending not to be equally amused by a big game of what if. Not to mention the evolution the game could have with continual alcohol consumption involved. Lilith took the shot and downed it followed by a little shudder. Caleb was grinning back at her. "Come on. Hit me with one." A very poor choice of words, particularly given the environment but it made it all the more amusing. Lilith glided in after him, while her lips pursed as she brainstormed a scenario. "Okay," she said slowly at first. "Say, a tsunami comes and lightning and tornadoes. One at a time. And some freak force makes it target me. What would you do?" One thing she knew was what Jai would do. And all things considered he was a hard margin to beat.

A cold shiver ran all the way up Jai's spine at the sound of Christian's name. He didn't even realize Wren said she was going to meet him he simply reacted by grabbing Alex and high tailing it as far away from that monster as possible. Jai was terribly afraid of the guy and his hero instinct told him to run away and protect his best friend since the other one had that cool healing thing to keep her safe. "I think we're safe." Jai commented with a heroic grin on his face like he just saved Alex's life. He fixed his hoodie by zipping it up since it was flapping around everywhere while they stood there in awkward science. "So... Race?" Jai finally filled the silence with a question that he soon realized was dumb after it left his mouth. A race between them wasn't really fair unless Jai was blind folded and he'd rather not go back to the infirmary again.

"Nevermind." Jai said this with one of his light hearted laughs. "Let's just go to Wren's party before she drags us there." He reached his hand out and waited for her to grasp it. "I'll give you a lift speedy style." Once she finally took hold of his hand he hoisted her up onto his back before taking off down the halls and up a few flights of stairs to stop at Wren's door and be informed they needed to take shots. Jai didn't let Alex get down which would probably end badly if she got annoyed or angry which she did often. For now Alex was perched on his back while he downed the shot and ran into the room bouncing Alex around hoping to bring out the little girl he remembered from so many years ago.

Mathias was quick to smile at Nathaniel's new presence beside Jr. "Don't you think two against one is pretty unfair, Nathan?" Nathaniel stood straighter once he was addressed. He was already a giant in the room towering easily over everyone there and his posture only made his huge stature even bigger. Mathias's remark towards him changed as quickly as that smile appeared on his face when Nathaniel came over to do his awful job. "Sorry, I know you're just looking out for him." More of like doing what he was forced into. "But if he starts a fight with me, I will fight back." The poor guy just didn't understand but it wasn't like Nathaniel was going to stand there and explain it. Nathaniel just hoped no fight would break because he wasn't in the mood to have to hurt one of the few people in this school he didn't completely despise.

That was when Enzo joined the conversation and Nathaniel responded by rolling his eyes. "I've no fight with you, or your paranoia, I am very much not interested in you or Enzo. I like people I can trust." At least he was smart enough not to choose guys based on appearance like most idiots. Though Enzo's remark ruined the moment. "There's no need to fight over little 'ole me... There's already a shortage of attractive men in the world, do we really need to make it less?" Yes. Nathaniel thought. Starting with you and Jr. Nathaniel ignored the rest of the conversation between the three when a scarlet streak came through the door with another one of the few people Nathaniel could stand, Alex Todd though the fact that she was with Jai made Nathaniel avoid going over there. Instead he walked away form the little trio and took a seat at what seemed to him like a bar.
