Physical Description
Aeva is a peculiar looking woman—a strong jawline, high cheekbones, slightly upturned eyes make for a woman who appears more masculine than she actually is. The state of unruly, untamed hair spilling over her shoulders gives one the impression that Aeva was raised in the wild. The callousness of her hands do little to help soften her features, however; Aeva doesn't really care. The junoesque of her figure, the intimidating posture, the confidence and pride exuding from her steps; it makes her who she is. It's like a sort of boastful arrogance coupled with elegant strides that somehow make for a powerful impression upon first glance—and Aeva does make that impression. It's how she's built, and how she's learned to carry herself over the years. She's comfortable in leather armours, loose tunics, and anything that will not restrict her movement.

She's a woman of strength, though it might not seem that way at first. Everything is lithe, wiry, and roped sinews. This was brought on by years of helping her mother with the forge, training with Tyri, and by helping out those not quite built for manual labor. Any physical deed, Aeva was there to accomplish, pushing herself to her limits and beyond. She's not built like those whose entire lives were dedicated to physical accomplishments, and is more like an apex predator—built for power and speed. You can see her muscles work in the way she moves—a benefit from scar tissue and calloused muscles. She does have her fair share of body scars, but nothing so prominent to be noticed from first glance. She has a few nicks on her arms, some on her legs, but she does carry a scar across the bottom of her lip. It was earned during a brawl and the person managed to bust her lip. She was too proud of it to let it heal properly.

Her hair is a strange sight among the younger generation. While not completely rare, it is a bit uncommon for a human to sport white hair at a relatively young age. The shade is usually reserved for those of other species, however; as far as Aeva is concerned, she's completely human. It's a beautiful shade of white, though, lined with silver streaks and the occasional reflection of gold from the sun in an iridescent manner. Long in length, she usually braids it over her shoulder to keep it out of the way. When she leaves it unbound, though, it falls to her waist in a thick, messy fashion. She'll comb it out on occasion, but she's never really seen the point. It takes too much time, and she'd rather do something else, hence why it's rarely left loose.

Her gaze is sharp, and the color of her eyes are just as piercing. A strange hue of frosty blue mixed with wisteria creates a lavender shade, similar to the wisteria flowers seen in the lands to the east. A peculiar yet beautiful shade, nonetheless. The way her eyes are upturned at the corners gives her a bit of a predatory look, and the confidence in the way her eyes shine will leave no one wondering what she's feeling. She's expressive that way—her facial expressions down to the way her body shifts. Despite spending years of her life outside, Aeva has never been able to darken her skin. She doesn't necessarily burn, despite the pallor of her skin, but she does tend to fluctuate between porcelain to something a little more luminescent. It's strange, but she's mostly given up trying to understand it.

Aeva was born with mana—this makes her capable of manipulating the elemental magicka she is compatible with. Unlike her brethren casters, Aeva hasn't learned complete control of her arcane abilities. She's only learned the basics—its light based from what she's gathered—and uses it only as a means to light her mother's forges. It is, after all, just another form of heated energy. She would have a natural aptitude for it if she could learn to control it better, however; she would prefer not to use her arcane abilities. There is something about it that makes her feel uneasy—the way it feels and sings in her blood like a steady beat. It's almost as if it were its own force, but mana isn't quite that sentient. It is, perhaps, the reason why she prefers close combat techniques.

Her mother is a blacksmith, and as a result, Aeva was able to meet all kinds of people. She'd train with them, one of them being an old Knight of the Royal Guard, who taught her what it meant to be a Knight. He taught her discipline, and how to wield a sword. She learned quickly, and has been training to become a Knight, herself. She's been mostly an offensive person, though, preferring to hit—and she's a hard hit despite her stature. She prefers to do as much damage as possible, which makes her defense slightly weaker than normal. It's not the best strategy, but it works for her... somewhat.

Growing up, Aeva wasn't really one for the fine silks or furs or leathers that she'd see the noble ladies wear. She preferred tunics and leathers that were made for durability rather than for appearances sake, and as a result, she prefers to wear what is loose and comfortable. Whatever makes it easy for her to move. She's comfortable in heavy armour as well since her mother used to use her as a model. It made it easier when her mother had custom armours, or weapons, and she needed someone to be of a certain height.

Demeanor
There is nothing soft about Aeva, but she's not as calloused as she may appear to be. Aeva is simply herself, and it was a trait her mother encouraged. She doesn't believe in false compliments, nor is she ever inclined to give them. If you ask her for her opinion on something, she will give it without reservations. Some might consider her blunt, or perhaps a little cold, however; she isn't cold. Blunt, perhaps, but not cold. She cares about the people she's close to, like any person would be, but her mother encouraged her rather rough mannerisms as she was growing up. You don't escape being raised by a dwarf without inheriting some of their rougher traits, after all. It was also a way to protect herself--at least that is what her mother says. Most people would be wary of the kind of person, Aeva is, and as a result, she hasn't had many friends.

She isn't exactly friendly, and that can rub most people the wrong way. It has on more than one occasion, actually, and she's been in more fights than she can count. Some people might say that it is a flaw in her character, something that should be addressed, or fixed--Aeva doesn't care. She doesn't want people to like her because she's soft and demure; she has a fire that burns as bright as the mana she wields, and damn those fools who believe they can quell it. She will admit, however, that it leaves her inherently lonely at times. Sure, she has her mother, her brother, and her mentor, but that isn't quite the same. It doesn't usually bother her as much as it used to, but it isn't hard to miss in her eyes. She's always been extremely expressive--both with her body language and her words.

But when all is said and done--the words spewed from her mouth, and the people she's hurt as a result--Aeva is not good with her emotions. They seem to rule her with an ever iron fist, and she's never really learned to control them. [WIP] Donec sit amet dolor nec lorem sollicitudin dictum. x Personal History
Aeva had an unconventional upbringing. It's obvious to anyone with eyes--or enough sense--that Aeva is not a dwarf, however; it is a dwarf that she calls mother. Ásta Löfgren was a renowned blacksmith in Rotherhithe, making a living by creating the best metal that money could buy. Her creations were sought all over Sevaecia, and Ásta took pride in them. When she married Leif's father, though, she was required to give up her trade. A councilman's wife was not to do such arduous work, however; Ásta wanted something more. She loved her husband dearly, but they both wanted something that just didn't work. And she didn't want her son to follow her husband's caste. With a mutual understanding, she left to Solaris with Leif. She had not, however, expected to be the mother of two. Aeva had been a surprise, but Aeva's parents had been the first friends Ásta had met in Solaris.

Aeva was not an easy child to raise, though. Temperamental, and easy to anger, she was the complete opposite of her brother, Leif, who had been a more mild-mannered young toddler. She often found ways to start fights with the other children in the town, and often came home with more bruises and scratches than Ásta could count. It was... challenging, however; Ásta believed that Aeva was simply bored. She needed something to do, and Ásta believed that it was time for both Aeva and Leif to learn a trade. Since Leif was her natural-born son, she began teaching him the basics of blacksmithing when he was old enough. Aeva was taught the basics as well, but she was soon enamored by the people her mother was employed by. Knights and mercenaries to the Royal Guard all employed Ásta as their blacksmith, and too often they stayed for Ásta to finish their custom orders.

The ever-eager mind, Aeva took a particular kinship to an old knight from the Royal Guard, whose name was Garrik. He served as a mentor of sorts to Aeva, taking her under his wing which helped to temper her already strong demeanor. He told her stories of his adventures as a youth, how he came to be a Royal Knight, and how he still serves even in retirement. It fascinated the young girl to the point that she wanted to follow in Garrik's footsteps: to be a Royal Knight. At first, Garrik was opposed to the idea--not because she was a young girl, but because she lacked the refinement it took to become a Knight. It was more than just a pretty story, and he did his best to sway her from her dream. Ásta, however, encouraged it. The idea had seemed to give Aeva a purpose, and eventually, Garrik was convinced to take Aeva in as an apprentice.

The work was hard and arduous. Aeva was pushed to her limits, and further still whenever she trained with Garrik. He spared no empathy to her during her training, and it was something she appreciated. What could she learn if he went easy on her? Nothing. When Aeva was twelve years old, she was awakened to her ability to manipulate mana. Garrik nor Ásta had the tools to help Aeva manage her mana abilities, and Garrik took Aeva to see the Archmage, Ilaya Dirros, who took her under her wing. Between her training with Garrik and Ilaya, Aeva didn't have much time to do anything else. But it was what she wanted. Even if she was not particularly good with her magicka, she was still excelling in the art of swordplay.

But Garrik was already well into his years, and his passing did little to ease the ache that Aeva felt. She lost her mentor, and a dear friend. Who would she spar with, now that he was gone? It was a question that lingered in her mind, but she did not stop her training after Garrik passed. When Aeva had reached her seventeeth year of life, she was introduced to Tyri Byström, the former General of Solaris' army. With Ásta's encouragement, Tyri became Aeva's new mentor, and took her to the palace training grounds to further her education. Under the General's guidance, Aeva was able to perfect her techniques, though perfect would be an understatement. She still had a long way to go before she could be considered adequate--at least in Tyri's eyes.

As Aeva trained with Tyri, changes were underway within Solaris, changes that were a little disheartening for Aeva. She had spent a majority of her youth, training so that she could join the ranks of the King's Guards. She wanted to be a Knight, and it seemed like it would be an impossible dream to acheive when the King declared he was disbanding the Guard. Although it was unheard of, King Artorias had declared a new system, one that made people afraid. He was going to implement a new system that allowed vagabonds, theives, murderers, and all sorts of people who wanted to change.

Aeva saw this as a new opportunity, and resumed her vigor, however; she had come from a decent background. There was no second chance for her. After some convincing, she was able to persuade Tyri to speak to the king on her behalf. She wanted to join, and after a few failed attempts, Aeva was finally allowed to join in the recruitment. She awaits her trails so that she can, formally, be considered a Knight of Artorias. Her dream is so close, and yet...

Tyri was a bear of a woman. Tall and muscular like the men who trained in full armour, hair as dark and thick as the eye could see with ashed tips, and eyes as sharp and narrowed as any hawk. Beautiful in their own way, two-toned and rich in color, but Tyri earned her stripes, as she called them. The scars she bore, she'd tell the stories of how she'd received them to any one who would listen, and in great detail. She made it a point to tell every single detail, not bothering to leave out the grittiest aspects of it. Perhaps that was why Aeva admired the General, but she couldn't say exactly. Aeva had aspired to be like Tyri, at one point, but even with all the training she did as a youth could not help her achieve what Tyri had. And the General was nearing half a century in life, to say the least.

Whether it was because they were of different heritage—Tyri being born into the northeast near The Red Sands, and Aeva into the capital of Solaris—it was hard to say. Tyri often teased it was because she was of orcblood—everyone knew that was false, though.

"That'll be it for today, Löfgren," she spoke, straightening her posture out to her full height. Tyri was a few inches over six foot at this point in her life, but Aeva nodded her head, and placed the practice blade into its proper sheath by the barracks. Tyri followed suit, taking a drink from her waterskin before turning towards Aeva. "You'll need to prepare for the Passage, today. It begins at high noon," she stated, offering a sharp grin. Aeva resisted the urge to roll her eyes, and rolled out her shoulders, instead.

"I heard there are a large number of recruits for the Knights," she stated, accepting the waterskin Tyri offered and taking a drink from it. "Are you sure they were all hand chosen by the King?" she asked, wiping away a stray droplet of water from the corner of her mouth. Tyri huffed a light sound, the closest she'd ever come to sounding amused by something, and sighed through her nose.

"Aye," she replied in a nonchalant fashion. "Don't worry, though—they'll all be weeded out if any are unfit for the position after the Passage," she stated. Aeva nodded in way of reply. If she remembered correctly, over fifty people had been recruited, and out of those fifty, only handful had remained.

"I suppose it had a lot to do with your training," she stated, earning a snort from Tyri. Everyone knew the former General was no pushover. Her training regimes were considered extreme and old-fashioned, however; everyone who had made it past the training always turned out to be the best Royal Knights of Solaris. Shaking her head, Aeva followed Tyri towards the court. They would be assembling the recruits into the court in order to give them the details they needed for the Passage. Aeva already knew what that entailed; Tyri had given her the run down, but the others would also need to be informed before they started any kind of training.

"I'll meet you once the entrance ceremony is finished—I need to prepare for the speech before it starts," Tyri spoke, causing Aeva to nod her head. The Bear did not need to prepare for anything; she just wanted to get a drink in before anything else. But Aeva didn't mind. She was much too eager to think of anything else.
