The Last Valkyries


The History


Long ago, the Creator created a world intended for his own species to live under and rule. His name was God. God created the sun, the water, the food, the plants, the wildlife, and most important...the humans Adam and Eve. His only request was to have believers, for He existed through the minds of other people.

As time went on, He realized that he had lost most of his followers. He was growing weak. So he sent a spokesperson in his name to bring about the nearly forgotten name of God. That person was Jesus. In return, Jesus became God's right hand man. With God's help, Jesus performed miracles and brought forth the name of God. God's power grew once more, even after the legendary sacrifice of Jesus' death.

Two thousand years later, God's power grew weaker and weaker. The faith was beginning to diminish again. He knew that it was time to make good on his promise that Jesus would come again. So He sent Jesus down to tell the world that God was still around in 2013. Unfortunately, the plan backfired. Many rationalists did not believe in Jesus' miracles that he performed once more, blaming it on "natural phenomenon". Jesus was sent to an insane asylum and God did not have enough power to bring him back to Heaven. Finally, in 2014, the last of the religionists were either killed or turned and God finally vanished.

Now, after God's death, came this question: Who would rule over the humans? The Angels and Demons clashed over this idea. Both wanted total control over the humans. The Angels wanted to turn it into a perfect society, a Utopia where everyone followed their laws, never sinned, and where the Angels had complete power. The Demons, however, wanted to enslave the humans to do their bidding, making the Demons stronger. Tensions rose high in The Skies as the calm debates turned into violent uprising. Meanwhile, the humans thrived on, improving their technology, the word of God completely obliterated from language.

Back in The Skies, many who were sick of the fighting in both Heaven and Hell seceded from their former races and formed a new race. They were called Valkyries. They lived between the Golden Clouds of Heaven and the Red Abyss of Hell in their own created land called Heral. There, they thrived, finding neutral ground and agreement amongst their people. It was a planet Earth in The Skies.

Years passed and finally, the first attack between the Angels and Demons erupted. War followed soon after. Angel Warriors and Demon Warriors came from both sides, filling the lands of Heral. Both sides chose Heral as their battleground and the fighting commenced. Within a year, only about a hundred Valkyries were alive or free. The Angels and Demons were profiting off of the neutral race, capturing Valkyries for labor while the two sides fought. Those Valkyries who refused or resisted were killed. The few Valkyries around hid around the land, hoping desperately for this war to end and for both sides to leave.

But neither side is advancing on the other and the war is dragging on. The remaining Valkyries now have two choices: End the war or watch in vain as their race dies in vain and suffering.

Name: Pretty obvious, isn't it?
Age: Anywhere from 16-75
Gender: Again, self-explanatory.
*Description: Hair color, build, clothing etc. Be descriptive. Include unique marks and notable descriptions that make your character you.
*Personality: Likes, dislikes, favorites etc. Include at least 3 major personality traits and be descriptive.
Race: Either Angel, Demon, or Valkyrie.
Class: There are many classes, only pick one. Wizard, Priest, Archer, Rogue, Warrior, Knight, Paladin, Assasin, Necromancer, Hunter, Mystic, Sorcerer, and Trickster. More info on classes and equipment below.
Equipment: Based on class. Pick the weapons that go with your class.
Magic::Every class gets at least one spell of their choosing. Some classes get more. See below.
History:Not Required. I kind of like having the history of a character unfold in the roleplay. Write one if you want, but you don't have to.

About The Skies


The Skies is a parallel dimension next to the dimension containing Earth. Only accessible through a Worm Hole, it is a world made up of extremely thick clouds almost as hard as the ground on Earth. Everyone created in The Skies has wings as there isn't much to explore on the ground floor because most of the wildlife and plant life live in the acending clouds spiraling all over the place. Below are the landmarks of The Skies:

The Baron: The ground floor. Wildlife and plant-life is scarce and the land is flat except for a few large boulders. Stretches across the entire land. Possible Free Valkyries: 2.
The Mountain of Asmodea: The only mountain in The Skies, nearly as tall as Mount Everest. Mostly forests can be found there. Animal life is sort of abundant and there are many cave systems around the mountain. Found closer to Heaven, but within the boundaries of Heral. Possible Free Valkyries: 25.
Kyrial City: The largest city in Heral. Angels control the city. Center of city is comprised of markets and a single capitol building. A river lies in the eastern part. Farms and Agriculture is comprised in the Eastern part of the City. Mining is in the West. Housing is in the north and south.
New Haven: A secret city rumored to be the last free city in Heral. Nothing is known about location. Possible Free Valkyries: 50.
Heavenly City: Capital of Heaven. A single palace is in the East, looking over the entire land. Mines are in the west while Markets are in the center, north, and south of the city. Housing is in between the markets and mines.
The Abyss: The only underground place in The Skies. The main Stronghold for Hell. Rivers of lava pour down in waterfalls and create lakes, providing infinite power.
Grotto Capital of Hell. Lies in the Abyss. Mines are scattered across the city. A small string of markets lie just outside the castle walls. The castle is in the center of the building.

About the People


Within the magical land of The Skies comes three groups of people as you probably now know. They are Angels, Demons, and Valkyries. Angels have the abundance of food and survival resources, but lack the power and metal. The Demons have the exact opposite, metal and power, but lack food, water, and other such resources. Valkyries thrive of the neutral land, which is about the same conditions as Heaven. Angels have light magical abilities, Demons have dark abilities, and Valkyries have elemental magical abilities. There are many different classes that each winged being grows up learning and perfecting. Below is the list:
Wizard/Witch: For all races. Moderate. They usually lack defense and basic attack skills, but have great range and magical stamina, or mana. Wizards/Witches carry a staff and a spellbook with a robe for defense. They can also have a max of three perfected spells to use. (3 magic spells.)
Priest/Priestess: For Angel or Valkyries. Rare. They lack defense and have a somewhat better attack skill, but have the same good range and magical stamina. Priests/Priestesses carry a Wand and a Tome as well as a Robe for defense. They can also heal themselves and the ones around them. (Healing Spell)
Archer: For all races. Common. They lack basic attack and mana ability, but excel in range and have a somewhat decent defense. Archers carry a Bow with arrows and a Magical Quiver that can enchant a single arrow at a time, making it stronger. They also wear leather armor. (Attack Boost)
Rogues: For all races. Moderate. They lack range a little bit, but have speed and dexterity(projectile tossing speed). Rogues carry multiple daggers and a cloak as well as leather armor. The cloak can help a person blend in with his surroundings, making him invisible for a bit. (Invisibility)
Warriors: For all races. Very Common. They lack range, speed, and dexterity, but make up for it in their powerful attack and defense as well as stamina. Warriors carry swords and a magical helm as well as chainmail armor for defense. The helm can make a warrior faster and more ferocious for a short while. (Extra Boost)
Knight: For all races. Rare. They lack range, speed, and dexterity, but have a strong attack and a much stronger defense as well as stamina. Knights carry swords and a shield as well as a suit of armor. The shield can block attacks as well as stun enemies. (Defense Boost)
Paladins: For Angels or Valkyries. Very Rare. They lack range, speed, and dexterity, but have a powerful attack, a very decent defense and stamina. Paladins carry a sword and have a magic seal imprinted on their chainmail. The seal can be used to heal others, like the Priest, only a weaker healing spell.(Healing Spell)
Assasin: For Demons or Valkyries. Rare. They have less range, but increase in speed and dexterity. Assasins carry multiple daggers, multiple poisons, and leather armor. (Poison Magic)
Necromancer: For Demons or Valkyries. Very Rare. Less attack and defense for more mana and range. Necromancers carry staffs and necrotic skulls as well as a robe for defense. The skulls drain health from the enemy, increasing your health and health of your friends around you. (Offensive Healing Spell)
Hunter/Huntress: For all races. Moderate. Less basic attack for more range and accuracy. Carry a bow with arrows and multiple traps as well as leather armor. Traps are used to hurt and sometimes kill the enemy (Effective Trap Method)
Mystic: For Angels and Valkyries. Very Rare. Less attack and defense for more mana and range. Mystics carry staffs and Orbs as well as a robe for defense. The orbs have the ability to paralyze enemies within radius. (Paralyze)
Sorcerer: For Demons and Valkyries. Very Rare. Less attack and defense for more mana and range. Sorcerers carry wands and rods as well as a robe for defense. Rods can create lightning attacks, attacking multiple enemies at once. (Chain attack)
Trickster: For all races. Very Rare. Lesser range but more speed and dexterity. Tricksters carry multiple daggers, a decoy prism, and leather armor for protection. Decoy Prisms lay out a duplicate of you while you teleport to a place very close by. (Decoys and Teleportation)

The Rules


1. Follow chat etiquette and roleplay ethics. (I assume you know what those are.)
2. At least eight sentences per post.
3. Post every day. I don't want to end up stuck at some part for a month waiting for some jerk to post. This is excusable if you present me a valid reason
4. PG-13. No elaborate sex or gore scenes.
5. You can swear, but keep it to a minimum.
6. Have Fun!
