Eli groaned, falling off of the black leather couch he had been sleeping on. As soon as he hit his head on the wooden floor, he got a major headach and sat up, realizing what was going on at the same moment "Stupid, annoying," Eli began spouting a whole bunch of insults at the tremmors, he usually didn't get very angry, but if he was waken up, he could find enough insults to throw at you for hours. He had fallen asleep right after breakfast while watching some old movie, it was so boring how could anyone be expected to stay up, besides, sleep was a very good way to waste time for Eli. "Well, guess everyone's probably panicing by now, huh Moon, guess we'd better get to that what-ever-you-call-it, we should've stayed in Korea" he said, ruffling the white kittens fur and walking out of the back door, grabbing his backpack on the way out. He had only taken out a pair of clothes when he had gotten here the day before, so all of his things were still packed. "Eli! hurry!" his mother said, pushing him the rest of the way out of the house. As soon as he got out he began coffing, he was never very good with smoke and there seemed to be a fire a few streets down, but there was enough smoke to get Eli to start coffing. Mr.Park came out next, holding Kara, Eli's nine year old sister, although with how small she was she looked five. The three of them ran over to the metal hatch in the corner of the yard, not noticing that Alex was now where to be seen, or that Eli was moving slower then usual. After the three went down Eli realized that his older brother hadn't been with them, so he went back into the house, falling down because of another tremmor. Moon, who had went down with everyone else, had begun whining at the two adults, causing them to realize that their sons where missing. Eli got back up and ran over to Alex's room, running inside and seeing the other boy still asleep and snoring loudly, although instead of having fallen to the floor he had ended up wedged between the bed and the wall. Eli groaned and swallowed, "Man, honestly, why did I come to this place? well, at least I got to be in this once-in-a-lifetime experence...." Eli said, then grinned out of nowhere as he yanked the died bleach blond hair of his brother. "What the hell was that for!!!" Alex said, even when he was asleep he was very protective of his hair and could tell if someone just cut off a tiny end. All of a sudden another tremmor hit and the celing began cracking, the house finally being affected, "What the heck?!" Alex said, jumping over the bed and Eli, who just began laughing, "You're crazy! you're laughing in this kind of situation!" the older brother said, grabbing Eli by the arm and dragging the still laughing boy out of the house. "You should've seen your face! it looked like someone had just died your hair red!" he said, knowing the exact face Alex made if that would happen, considering he had done that to his brother when he was younger. Alex threw Eli underground then jumped down after him, "You're such an idiot! how can you laugh!?" Alex asked the other boy, who was finally starting to calm down, "I-it was halarious though! besides, even if I was so worried like all of you, how would that change the situation or the outcome? I just didn't see any reason not to laugh" he said, finally comepletely calmed down. Alex just sighed at his younger brother, he had been the only one in the whole family who wasn't against Eli attitude, although he still thought he was crazy. Moon came over, as well as the rest of the family, "Alex are you alright? you aren't hurt, are you?" everyone began asking him, making sure he wasn't injured while ignoring the fact that Eli had a gash on his arm where he had fallen onto a piece of glass going back for Alex. He went over to the first aid kit and took off his hoodie that now had a huge rip in it and began cleaning the wound, "Well, guess I should be more careful next time, huh Moon, although it doesn't hurt as much as it did when I fell through that window last month.." he said, recalling that time when he fell out of the window in his room while trying to fix the top of the blinds, he had fallen into some dirt but busted the glass out. Eli shook his head and sighed as he began bandaging his arm, taking off the rainbow braclet off first considereing the glass had gotten from his wrist and down aboutfive inches on his left arm. "Well, at least the cut doesn't look to deep" he said, tieing the gauze off and taking out his black and white checkered hoodie to put on. He leaned against the side of the room and began thinking of his friends back in Korea while petting Moon, who was just watching as the rest of Eli's family was sitting facing each other and making sure no important things where missing and making sure they were all alright, while they still ignored Eli for the most part.

Although they were finally in some form of safety, Ariana still couldn't get past her "seige mentality". The outbreak of war had been so sudden, like a spark igniting a wildfire that sweeps through an entire forest. the war. Oh God. The sound of gunfire, the media spreading panic like a rat in a cage, and worst of all: the threat of a nuclear war hanging above everyone's head like an ominous vice, waiting to strike. nce the war started, the bottom dropped out of everyone's lives. That feeling of sureness and security of normal daily living was brutally kicked away, leaving only the unsettling truth.

Anyone could die. Everyone could die. All in the space of a few seconds. If you get a bad roll, or a bad hand from Life, then that's it for you. Everything's gone. Goodbye.

Ariana shuddered in her space of the cave, and tried to stop thinking about the war. After all, her family had met up with two other families on the way here. They made fast and true friends. Friends that would last a lifetime, however short that lifetime may be. Eli and Eric. Her two bestest friends in the world now. The three stuck together, with Eric as somewhat the leader of sorts. The cave is their home. Now and maybe until they die.

While not hanging out with the two teenaged boys, Ariana often drifted off and day dreamed about being in a fantasy world; a world filled with fairies and orcs and, best of all, magic. She wished whole heartedly that this was real. She wished for it every night, because she knew. She knew how short one life time could be.

Eric sat in a corner, reading a book, lost in the world that it created in his mind. He had always loved reading. But when he'd had to go into hiding, he'd lost a lot of his stories. He set the book down and looked around. First at Eli. Then at Ariana. They were now his two best friends. Probably his only friends. He was lucky to have them, especially in times like these.

He hated having to hide. Having to live in a cave, surrounded by fear. Slowly he rose to his feet, looking around and watching people run around. He walked over to Eli. "Hey, I'm going to get away from all this. Go see whats deeper in the cave. You feel like going on a walk?" He asked. He waited for an answer, thinking about what could be deeper in this big, dark cave that they were all calling home.

Eli opened one eye once he realized he was being talked to then yawned and took Moon from his lap and sat her on the ground, "Sure" he said while rubbing his eyes. Somehow while thinking he had dozed off. He stood up planning on leaving Moon with the others, but she began clawing at his shoes and trying to climb back up him. "Aish, fine, you can come to, but don't try to get down and run off, I don't want you to get lost again" he said, holding her away from him with one hand while pointing at her with the other. The fluffy ball just blinked her green eyes at him innocently, then began to wiggle, she had never liked being held in the air. Eli put the kitten on his shoulder and smiled slightly when she began to claw at the ends of his hair playfully, "Let's go!" Eli said, shaking his head once, then taking his DS from his backpack and putting it in his pocket.

"I'll get Ariana." He nodded and walked over to where Ariana sat. "Hey, we're going on a walk. Do you want to join us?" He stood there, looking off into the dark cave. What would they find if they went deeper in? Would they just find that it was a dead end? Would they find a way out? More questions like these ran through his mind. Deep in his mind, he wanted to find something. Anything. Maybe he would find a way out. Would he leave? He didn't know. He looked back at his mother and little sister, both huddled in a corner. Staying in this cave, was like being in cage, but without the iron bars. They couldnt leave. Not because someone wasn't letting them. But because their fear wouldnt let them.

"I... I guess so?" Ariana said uncertainly when Eric asked if she wanted to join them. "I mean, if you guys are going I guess I'll go as well."

She brushed her hair- hair that somehow remained somewhat smooth, but still messy due to the harsh live they had to live now. She sighed softly, wistfully thinking about h\what her life had been; what she had lost and will most likely never get back.Birthday parties. Hnaing out. Shopping. Meeting new people.
And yet she felt that this new life wasn't as bad as it seemed as well. She could live without the pressure of society; live without responsibilities, or trying to please others. She wondered if she would tell the parents about their new journey, but Ariana dismissed it. She takes her sketchbooks and joins Eli and Eric, with a somewhat excited look on her pale face.

Anastasia warmed her hands over the fire. It was night in Narnia, and almost nobody was about; they were right not to be. Only half an hour before, the nightly raid swarmed through the town. Dark narnians, her bretheren; it hurt her to see them, eyes so wild and minds full of rage. She gazed into the cackling flames and imagined her brother's face. It had been long since she'd seen him, and now she wished she could embrace him once more. Around her, the few who dared to be outside laughed at her. A young woman shouldn't be out this late, they said. Prying hands could so easily swipe her off her feet.

Malice forced her to grit her teeth, but she forced herself to remain silent and absent-minded, just for the safety of these fooling people. Annie hated being treated like the ''theif'', the female bandit who stole for a living. She wished she could retreat back to the forest where she could be with those narnians who hadn't fallen under the evil spell. There, maybe she wouldn't be treated like dirt. It had been many days and nights since she'd seen a narnian who respected her for who she was; one of the two remaining heirs to the narnian throne.

She'd been waiting here for only one reason, and that reason seemed so dim just about now. Anastasia had grown up as royalty, and while amongst the books and tall-tales, she'd come across a book. It was unbound, presumably written by someone who had been in the castle. It had said that soon four children of Adam and Eve would bring the fall of these dark times. For years she'd thought that four would appear, and that she might be able to give them guidance.

If only she knew that only three would enter. If only she knew that she was one of the four.

Eric nodded and walked through the cave, maneuvering around the other people. As he walked deeper into the cave, the light of the fires became smaller and began to fade. Slowly, the three became immersed in absolute darkness. Eric, had resorted to feeling his way through the cave. He stayed close to the walls. All he could see now was black. He, Eli, and Ariana were surrounded by darkness in all directions. If he wasnt mistaken, it seemed the cave went on forever.

Suddenly, he felt air on his face. He stopped in his tracks. Was that wind? He thought about it for a moment. Wind? In this cave? Was that even possible. He put his hand out, and was more confused when he felt a rock wall. "What?" He put his hands down, and stepped back. He turned to where he thought Arianna and Eli stood. "Do you two feel that?"
