height // weight: Bea is known for three things; one, her irrefutable charm two, her almost saucer sized eyes and three, her small statue. Always making her the 'runt of the litter'. It took her years to finally to begin reveling in it. Wearing it like a badge of honor. The young woman stands at a shocking 5'3 ft,155 cm. // While Bas is short she is far from stout. She from could pass as the definition of petite.

hair: Naturally her hair, when she was a young girl, is exactly how it is now a light, brown color that matched perfectly with her lightly tanned, olive skin and framing her seemingly kaleidoscope doe-eyes perfectly. It was past her midback, long and beautiful, and always done before she stepped foot out of her room. The first thing she did once settling into her new surroundings was to chop it all off to her shoulders. But she has changed it several times through her time on Earth to fit where she saw at the time when she found out the beauty of human hair dye it changed her world. But, more than often she finds herself dying it back to brown but, keeping the length and the small curls that come along with it.

eyes: Just like with her hair, her eyes have made her an odd one out in the light district. With most people having blonde hair and light color eyes. Bea subverts expectation by getting all of her mother's features. Including her eyes, that most people who have come in contact with her, say is the first thing they noticed or the first thing that made them come up to her were her eyes. Her kaleidoscope eyes, as her father called them, a mixture of browns and golds and greens, making them a strang mix of hazel that changes constantly in the light, that seemingly to either embrace you with her warm, kind smile that promises both love and admiration from the young lady, if you have the unfortunate faith of getting on her bad side, daggers that appear to stare right through as if you aren't even there. But, either way, there's no hiding how she feels through her eyes. The moment you look in them you'll how she's truly feeling no matter the sarcastic comment and nonchalant smirk she gives you.

style: Growing up, Bea's parents would say that your image is everything. It was the first thing people noticed about a person before walking up to them and in order to feel good and confident about her position, she had to look good. That meant the finest dresses, shoes, accessories, and of course, her gold, gem-encrusted tiara, which was only meant for special occasions. She strived to be the most put together and most beautiful girl anywhere she went, it was ingrained in her. Even when disobeying her father and venturing out, she had to look her best while staying under the radar. Since being on Earth, her style has had to make a complete 180 as she's no longer the daughter of a Duke, just a starving musician living with her means. While continuing to believe that image is of the utmost importance that couldn't be her main priority anymore. While traveling the world, she'll be in some of the harshest climates on the planet and has had to learn the hard way to put function over fashion and style.

Even when she was Australia, her style has changed to fit more of who she is now. She's traded in her gowns and tiara for a mixture of both the prim and proper style of her home with the grunge, rock band loving, flannel obsessed girl she had become. She would, and still will take the simple, one color dresses probably black or a deep shade of blue or red, she goes for one of her dozens of oversized jackets, more than likely her denim one with a large patch from Sublime's 40 oz. of Freedom album (the first music she heard on Earth) or her black leather with a patch of the Nirvana smile on the front along with a pair of her sneakers or her favorite pair of black Steve Madden combat boots, the first thing she ever bought on her own from a second-hand shop, and one of her multiple pairs of sunglasses. Or even oversized flannels to act as dresses along with her boots and jacket or just jeans and a simple shirt. Asked for jewelry now, she doesn't find herself wearing a lot except for a ring on a chain given to her from her mother; a large diamond since they all saw her as their little 'diamond in the rough'. However, she does keep it hidden not wanting anyone to see it and start asking questions about it.

misc: God, if her father could see her now. When she was on Aurum, she had no scars, no tattoos (other than her emblem, which is located at the base of her neck), no imperfections what so ever other than a heart-shaped mark near the corner of her left eye and small beauty marks on her shoulder and thighs. But shockingly, with Bea's lifestyle choice she has garnered her fair share of scrapes and bruises but, none ever being permanent other than a scar behind her right ear from a less than stellar encounter she had when she was aboard and one on her inner right thigh. Along with around a dozen tattoos from her travels which is her own personal mementos; a sun (behind her ear), a tribal piece on her right shoulder blade, a Chinese sign for light on her left wrist, and about 6 others all over her body from her right forearm to her right foot (which was not pleasant)

Generation ✦ Solidification ✦ Portal Creation ✧ Illusion ✦ Absorption

Mildly Conversational in 4 Earth languages ✦ Singing ✧ Piano ✦ Guitar ✧ Intelligence

Light Generation: This was the first thing Bea ever learned from her parents. She can create and shape photons of light. On Aurum, Bea had other interest with her abilities, but she was able to change how bright and intense it was, even shrouding a room in complete darkness if need be, however, this is also connected to another ability Bea is even more skillful with.

Light Solidification: While on Aurum, she thought this was pretty stupid until she realized the extent of it and how good she was at it. Bea is able to solidify the light around her to make them into any objects really, with the only limit being Bea's imagination. While it was more plentiful of ideas when she was a child, as an adult, when she became more practical, she was able to actually control everything about from its solidity, being able to make it loose like jelly or as hard as metal, to its size. She could make weapons, shields, hell once she was even able to make a house that could be lived in. On Earth, this power is pretty much useless. She can't do anything with it, other just being able to grasp it but, she can't make anything.

Light Portal Creation: This is by far Bea favorite (hardest and most skilled) ability as it allowed her to slip in and out of the light district without a single person noticing but, also it was one of the most difficult to learn. The ability itself has always been the Amador women's secret that they share with few people and allows the young girl to create portals anywhere as long as they're created in the light. While she isn't able to go from planet to planet or anything, she is able to get in and out of every district in Aurum without alerting the guards or her father, for that matter as she never revealed this to him. On Aurum, she was able to have full control over them, she was could open and close them at will and could keep them stable for hours at a time. Asked for size, she, just like her mother was able to engulf a whole building. So to say she was, one of the best at it could be correct. On Earth, however, she has absolutely no use of it other than making them as big as her pinky finger for a few minutes, tops and she doesn't feel like losing a finger.

Visual Illusions: Before learning how to make portals, this was the most useful as it allowed Bea to create her version of what Aurum looked like outside the castle walls. To put it plainly because of how much time she spent on it and how much she cared about this ability above all others (at the time), Bea is one of the best. While on Aurum, she was able to make complex worlds that most weren't able to if they were real or not and these worlds could go on for weeks with nothing more than a handful of flaws since she spent so much time outside of the district. But, it goes much further than that as she can make one see, feel, hear, smell, and even taste something that isn't really there including being able to change her own appearance and voice which has come in handy once or twice. You could live in that world for as long as she wanted you to and you'd never know it. On Earth, however, it pretty much useless, she can change what people see and hear (on a good day), pretty much defaulting to projections as they can be touched by others. Usually, she uses it now for magic tricks to entertain the kids.

Light Absorption: This is the one ability that not only scares Bea, but also is another Amador secret they'd take to the grave as they don't want those around them, whether they're civilians or other members of the high court to be afraid of them or in any way see them as a threat to the district or especially towards the royal family. But, the ability allows the Amador to absorb any visible light while removing it from the source which includes those who inherit the ability as well, virtually sucking them dry of all their power, and putting it into their own body as a 'boost' for lack of a better word or as a shield if need be. Bea hasn't even thought about using it, just the idea of taking what makes the district so powerful away from someone just seems... wrong and immoral and she can't. Her family hasn't even tried to its fullest extent, only using it on Seraphina after her breakdowns to calm her.

However, she does have talents and abilities outside of her powers including a love for music and a knack for singing. While she doesn't believe she's some gift to the Universe or anything she has been told she has a gorgeous voice made for Hollywood (she still doesn't know where it is exactly). When her mother found out their baby could sing, she began teaching her how to play the basic such as the piano, which is the instrument she is an expert in and the guitar followed once she settled down in her first job by another aid worker. And because of her traveling so much, she has been able to pick up enough of a few languages that she can hold a decent conversation in including: English, Portuguese, French, and Spanish

Confident ✦ Passionate ✧ Inquisive ✦ Charismatic ✧ Selfless ✦ Idealistic ✧ AdventurousFickle ✦ Sarcastic ✧ Stubborn ✦ Argumentive ✧ Cocky ✦ Nosey ✧ Restless ✦ Naive

Bea Amador has always been seen as a 'strange girl' in the eyes of most on Aurum, at least for who she was and her connection to the royal family. She goes through life with what people on Earth have called an 'artist's perspective'. Meaning, Bea sees the beauty in everything around no matter how insignificant it seems to the world. She likes to believe that people are better than they are even when they show her the opposite. That even if they seem like an asshole, under all of that is an extraordinary person. In her eyes, there's beauty in everyone but, sometimes you just gotta dig a little deeper down to find it and push them a little harder to find that diamond in the rough. Some call her naive, but she sees it as idealistic. Now, she isn't completely blinded by these glasses she does know that there are bad people in the world but, she isn't one just to assume that someone is just going to be out to hurt her just because they have in the past. But, it does take a lot for her to think differently about someone or to think that they really are a bad person and that maybe there isn't any good within them. Something she hates doing, as she hates just giving up, but sometimes you just have to face the fact that we don't live in a perfect world with perfect people. Her mother has always reminded her that she is a lady of the people, meant to be beloved and adored by all but, in order to do that she must help those around her who can't help themselves. That she's in a position where she can help people and she does so relentlessly whether people want her to or now. Which has turned people off before but, deep down she believes she's helping them which may be why she has chosen the career she has. It allows her to help people all over the world while seeing the good in people. Seeing the world through rose-colored glasses, to an extent. Where all the red flags just look like flags.

Bea has always been too inquisitive for her own good, always wanting to find the truth in any situation as somewhat of a searcher and to find her own truth from within herself without the disruption of only being seen as Lady Beatrice. It has taken herself forever to come to the level of understanding of herself that she is at right now, and even though she likes to believe that she has a clear and compelling sense of herself (at least for her age). She knows she's still young and there is more about herself and this odd planet around her that she will never truly be able to comprehend even after seeing and living in the world around her. And as a result of this outlook on life, she has devoted parts of her life to investigations into the unknown and finding the answers to the mysteries of life and the world around her. Which is why she had given up a lavish lifestyle to have one that allows her to see all corners of the world while finally being able to help people. Some around her believe she is nothing more than a pretty face, a woman who just likes to be the center of attention who acts deep and poetic in order to seem better than those around her. And, part of it is true. She does believe that compared to most human or those on Aurum. She has had the opportunity to not only live the life she wants to live and go wherever she wants to go without being held down anyone anymore but, also can do it whenever she wants.

This young woman was never, could never, and never will just fit into one hole, she not just this confident, highly intelligent, stubborn spitfire or this nosey, charismatic, and brazen girl. She those and much more, both good and bad. To some, she can come off as a fickle, condescending, pretentious young lady who seemingly thinks she better than others because of who she is and the things she can do. Which she is, but people both on Earth and especially on Aurum that, just happened to forget that she has worked for the powers she has and the talents she likes to show off. She just doesn't understand why people are okay with accepting mediocrity. With never settling, she has been able to have some of the best experiences in the world, doing things people could only dream of. Even, if she claims to hate it, she used to being right and the center of attention for one reason or another, showing off the things she has gotten on her travels and all of her pieces of art. And while she doesn't see herself as a showoff or anything (she is but she doesn't see it that way), she does have confidence in herself and knows that she has talent in what she loves doing and to say she doesn't get passionate and excited about her newest photos or newest adventure or things she has been able to do in her short life would be a lie. She is proud of herself so don't ever think she will hide it for anything or anyone. Like most women, however, surprisingly she has a very romantic and dreaming soul. She wants to find someone to love her for her, not because of her position in the district or her abilities but for her, it seems to be impossible until she came on Earth. Our lovely young duchess would spend nights on end, looking for that sort of 'spark' she had heard so much about especially after leaving her love and coming to Earth but, even when she thinks she's found it. It scares her off. Making her some odd mixture between romantic and very fickled to the idea of even being able to have a normal relationship with anyone which in return makes her less eager to take it to the lengths she did on Aurum. She's always go, go, go, wanting to go from one place to another. Trying her best not to stay in her country for too long before starting her next adventure away for having to settle into a routine. She's terrified of falling back into a routine like she did on Aurum, just let day after day fly past her and just going through the motions of life without truly living it.

Beatrice Angelique Amador, the sole daughter of Duke Isaiah and Duchess Seraphina Amador, has been held on a pedestal from the moment she born. Deemed her parents' bright and shining star and even with their two sons, Nathaniel and Gabriel, Beatrice was the apple of her mother's eye, she was her mother's 'shining light'. Sera taught her everything she knows, about being apart of the royal court, what it meant to be apart of the light district, all about her abilities, everything and even if Bea hated the etiquette classes, the dresses, and constant watch of several bodyguards. Her mother taught her it was all apart of the job and that their job was important and had to be done for the betterment of Aurum. That no matter what, Aurum and the royal family came first. Bea idolizes her mother. Sera was everything she wanted to be in life and she acted just like her. Never disobeying her parents, never venturing out the Amador walls without protection and never forgetting what they were meant to do. On the outside and to the kids, they seemed like the perfect family but, behind closed doors, Sera was cracking and Bea could see it but, she never said anything. Which may have been what led her on her neverending little journey.

And, one day when Bea was still a child, she had gone into her parents' quarters to again try and wear them down into letting her roam outside the castle walls when she came across three letters addressed to her brothers, her father, and to her mother's 'shining little star', all from her mother and of course, a portal hidden perfectly out of view of sight. She couldn't understand truly what was going on and before she had a chance to act, the portal, her mother, and any clues of where she could have gone disappeared right before her eyes. To this day, her father still hasn't told her why she left or where she could have gone and they have no way of knowing for certain where she went or even what she looks like. Now, being older, Bea tells herself that the pressure of being Duchess Seraphina was weighing on her more and more with every passing day. The young child just assumed she finally had enough but she would be back after a break. Her father never gave a real reason on why she left and her brothers just assumed she had abandoned all of them. This was the turning point for the Amadors, her father and brothers tried even harder to make sure the last woman of the Amador name was okay, that she was safe and had everything she needed in their home while keeping an extra close eye on her and having the guards do the same. They meant well but, it just lit the fire she let lie dormant for years. And even if they didn't know, Bea never stopped trying to find her, even after all that time. She just thought her mother just went to another district or got lost, so she turned her full attention to try and replicate what her mother did. It took her years to master it enough where it wouldn't end up with her just being stuck in another district without a way back (again) but when she did... She got her real first taste of freedom and she wanted more.

She started traveling whenever she could, using it as a way not only to see how the people around her lived their lives and how she could help but, also an escape from her own life. She could disguise herself and walk around like a normal person without the pressure of having to live up to the 'Lady Beatrice' name for once and she loved it. She was able to do everything she ever wanted to do; met people from all over, helped a lot of people, she even fell in love. But, at the end of the day, none of that matter, because she wanted when she went out looking, was her mother and no matter how many times she was looked at like some injured, sad puppy or how many times those who knew what she was doing told her how impossible it would be to find her seeing that her mother was one of the best with illusions and that she had the ability to completely start over with a new appearance and name, acting a visitor from the light district before moving on again and again. She didn't care. She needed to find and she would have spent her whole life looking because, to this day, she believes that she could have stopped her mom from leaving and all she had to do was say something. But her reality doesn't work that way, especially after Sam caught her sneaking back with cuts and bruises on her and told their father. He said that she had a duty to her district, to her family, and that was to stay in the light district and that she couldn't just run away from that because she wanted to play pretend for the rest of her life, thinking their mother was coming back. After this, she was, even more, willing to disobey her father and he kept finding out but, she was relentless. The last thing she ever said to her father before being pushed into an escape pod was that she was miserable, that she was going end up just like mom. But, even if she was miserable she didn't want to leave. She wanted to fight, they knew she could help them but, they couldn't lose her too. She had no idea where she was going or when she'd be able to come back but, she knew she would.

Like most, her first few weeks rough, but she loved it. She was getting to do exactly what she always wanted, be a completely new person and go anywhere she wanted to go. She ended up settling not far from where she landed, seeing that she was on an island and really couldn't go anywhere. After settling down, she meant to go to school, but she signed up to help with children in Angola and just fell in love with it. She was given every opportunity that she wanted, she has had to the chance to travel to dozens of countries all over the world, going from place to place, and just seeing how diverse and extraordinary this planet was while helping countless people who are in a lot worst situations than she ever was on Aurum and need/want her help. Her mother always told her to be a lady of the people and that's what she was finally able to do. When she was back home, she was able to actually work on her music since her powers are pretty much nonexistent, making ends meet play coffee shops and such but, she admired it. She was finally getting everything she wanted and found someone who was madly in love with who she was, not at the fact that she was the Duke's daughter or who she pretended to be. Which after seeing that she was getting everything she wanted, scared her and gave her even more reason to leave once she heard the news of a golden meteor, under the guise of getting another mission aboard and that she would be back as soon as she could. Deep down, she wants to know what happened to her family, she knows they're okay. She knows her mother has to had come back after all of this but, she can't bring herself to go back. Not after everything, she's able to do here and everything she wants to do, she loves her life here. She needs to stay here.

Fun Fact: Her boyfriend, Simon made the fake passport, ID, and birth certificate that allows her to travel. Bea has been/stayed in Angola, Tibet, Nepal, South Africa, Madagascar, India, Brazil, Palestina, Morocco, Mexico, Hawaii, Nigeria, Cameroon, and China.

Bea was only half paying attention to the things going on around her: from the car ride to where she was going, to her luggage bumping against her legs, and to the deep voice of a young Simon Ejiofor coming through Bea Amador's headphones. "You know America's crime rate is way up, right?" Bea rolled her eyes as she kept on the shirtless man talking to her through FaceTime as he stretched and talked through his yawns. "And what if you get robbed and you're left with no money, no phone, they take your IDs, and I never see you again. Then what am I suppose to do to keep warm in this big, empty bed?" She scoffed. "It's a full bed, I'd think you'd be just peachy."

"Okay, fine but what if they find out your IDs are fraudulent and they detain you and I have no idea what happened." His tone was getting increasingly serious as if he was actually starting to get frantic and his smile falling off his face wasn't helping. Bea snapped, trying to get him out of his trance before he has a panic attack. "Simon, hello. Will you relax? I already told you I made it through the airport and security just fine. C'mon, I'm not an amateur or anything, I've done this ten, twelve times before. I'll be fine." Bea reassured Simon Ejiofor, her kind of boyfriend but, not really as of three months ago when she froze after he had started talking about children and marriage and settling down in Sydney once and for all and she blurted out that she needed a break. And even though, Bea sort of busted his white picket fence bubble, they still talked close to every day because whether she liked it or not. He was the first human she became friends with on this planet, he was the first person who got her into volunteering all over the world, and she couldn't just not have him in her life anymore. No matter how awkward the phone calls became. "I just don't understand why you had to leave so suddenly. I mean, Bea, I love your zest but, we've been back for two weeks and all of a sudden you've been called to Washington D.C for some random, sketchy meeting in front of a bunch of fancy politicians."

"I told you, it's not random or sketchy. And they're not politicians. They just wanted me to come and show all of my photos and research in front of some big board of trustees or something before they send us abroad again maybe this time with a grant and I have friends in D.C right not that I haven't seen in a while. I thought it'd be nice to see them." Simon sighed through the phone, which lead to Bea getting a giant knot in her stomach. She hated lying to him but, what was she supposed to tell him? That she was from some far away place and she had gotten a secret message after a piece of their home planet found its way to Earth? Bea sighed as she looked out the window of her Uber car before looking back at the camera. "Plus I thought time, some real time apart would do us some good, Si." She couldn't hear anything on the other side of the line. "We can think about everything without feeling smothered," She. She was feeling smothered. "And then when I get back, I promise we can have that talk, okay? But, I need this and you deserve this and when all of this is done... we'll go from there." Simon smacked his lips softly before answering. "You promise?" He stuck up his pinky finger. "I promise." Bea did the same.

"Cross your heart, hope to die, stick a needle in your eye?" The young woman couldn't help but erupt into laughter as Simon did as well. "Oh my God. Yes, Jesus Christ, I promise you, Simon Christopher Ejifor, that once I get home we will have a full-on rom-com style talk of our emotions complete with romantic music and rain trickling in the background as we try our hardest at bad American accents, okay?" Simon chuckled. "I don't need the fake accents, but okay, sounds like a plan." Bea took a deep sigh. "Good." The line was again filled with silence but before she could say anything else the car had stopped. She looked out the window to see, easily one of the biggest houses she had ever seen on this planet and sighed. "Guess I should get going and you should get to sleep--.." Before she could finish, Simon was already giving her his big, brown puppy dog eyes as if he was just begging for her to just come back home. And part of her wanted to, but she had to come. She had to know who else survived and found their way to the same planet. She needed answers and if that meant telling a little white lie to the man she loved, then so be it. "No, no! Do not give me those!" Simon raised his eyebrow. "Give you what? I'm just looking at you."

"And silently telling me to stay on the phone and I wish I could but I have to go." Simon smacked his lips before angling his camera to show more of his shirtless form. "Fine, but you're going to miss this." He pointed to his body. "But seriously, I'll give you all the time you need, Bea. I promise. Just... just call me if you need anything. At all, someone to talk to, or just a sexy reminder of home or if you want to break it off because you've fallen in love with some American twat. Just call me, alright?" Bea smiled and rolled her eyes. "Alright."

"I lo--.. I'll talk to you later." Bea held back a tear as she took a deep breath as the call ended. Before making a scene, Bea wiped a tear away, thanked the driver and got out of the car with her bags. It was moments like this she was glad she asked to be dropped off a little away from the house. She waved as it pulled off and then made a scene. The girl facepalmed herself softly and groaned. "What the fuck wrong with you?! Why didn't you just say it?! She groaned again before kicking one of her suitcases. She didn't know what was wrong with her. She had told Simon she'd loved him almost six months into their relationship but, the moment he brought up marriage, and children, and the prospect of them settling down forever she froze. Her brain became like static on a TV and she didn't really know what else to do or say. She wasn't in a spot yet where she was okay with the idea of not So, this message came at the perfect time where she could disappear for a while and not having to face what was going on at home. The small girl picked her luggage up from the concrete and her brief tantrum and slid her glasses onto her head to get a good look at the house a little bit away from where she had been dropped off. Part of her was telling her to just walk away and acted as if she never got the message, to continue her life as Bea as opposed being thrust back into the role of 'Lady Beatrice' by whoever was behind that door. But, her curiosity peeked and she needed to know and then she could go back to her life.

The concept of first class had always bothered Oona- it was representative of something not completely foreign to her; the separation of people based on their perceived class. The underlying suggestion that those who could afford to fly in first class were people of greater import, and of greater value than those who flew economy. When she had voiced this troubled thought, Eli had replied matter-of-factly that people were merely paying more for better services, just like people who went to more expensive restaurants were paying for tastier food, or that people staying in five-star hotels were paying for more luxurious accomodation. He may have had a point, but her troubles still stuck with her as she lay back in her aggressively cushy aeroplane chair. It was one of the first times when a reminder of home had struck her in a way that was neither reminiscent nor hopeful- perhaps Aurum wasn't nearly as utopic as her fond memories insisted.

Despite her tendency to ruminate, the thoughts did not linger with her long. Perhaps they would have, in a different situation, but for now, her mind was far too abuzz with other, more pressing concerns. The brilliant fluttering of hope ever-present in her chest had grown in fervor since the meteorite fell, and since seeing the familiar symbols engraved on it. The news had gone wild, conspiracy theories of aliens and government coverups engulfing the internet. And this time, the former was more than just a theory. It was only after reading the different articles on the internet that Oona realised that she was an alien. Before then, she had considered herself the ordinary one, surrounded by others. By humans. It was a weird thing to note about oneself, but it had its humorous perks, especially when she wound up absorbing a spiral of alien-related fiction. Thus far, E.T. was her favourite, although that felt prone to change, as she sat in her first class seat, eyes glued to the screen in front of her, where Ellen Ripley charged, teeth bared and eyes defiant.

It helped to distract her, but, as she glanced over at the fellow Aurum sitting beside her, she saw a man having far less luck. He sat in silence, screen black and chair upright. His hands were clasped, unmoving, and his face was almost unreadable. Was it worry behind those eyes? Hope? Excitement? Even Oona, as perceptive as she was, found Eli to be something of a cipher. Any intimate thoughts he had were seldom shared, and this case proved no different. She could tell he was thinking hard, though, because he did not offer any snarky comment in response to her increasing glances. No "need something?" nor "can I help you?". Not even a grouchy, "What are you staring at?" She knew better than to break him out of his silence- and so she left him to ruminate, and tried once again to focus on Aliens.

The plane landed smoothly, and, as was a typical perk of first class, the pair breezed through post-flight security. One flight attendant even nodded at Eli as he passed, welcoming 'Mr Acerbi, once again, to the States.'

"Look at you, you're famous." "No, I'm rich."

As they drove to the address, Oona's nervousness had begun to shake her once more. "So this... is really happening." Eli's eyes were fixed on the road. "... After all this time, this is really happening. I mean, something is happening."

In the silence that followed, Oona felt a touch of sombreness. "After a while, I thought nothing was ever going to happen."

Eli's eyes finally acknowledged her, as he broke away from his own thoughts. "Me too." He shot her a rare soft smile, an expression thousands of miles from his traditional smirks and sneers. "Looks like we were both wrong." Oona returned his smile, and they drove the rest of the way in a warmer, more reassured silence.

Or, at least they should have. And would have, if not for Oona suddenly sitting up, crying out in joyous disbelief. "Wait!" She was craning her neck to look out the window, looking as though she was frightened of her own intense hopefulness. "Is that- Is that Bea? Bea!" Although he had never interacted with her, Eli recognised her face, and even without the emotional attachment, her very presence in front of him sent a surge of relief similar to that which he had experienced upon meeting Oona. He pulled over the car, watching as Oona practically leapt from the vehicle.

"Bea! Bea!" Tears threatened to fall as Oona sprinted across the pavement (a task that took less than a second, with her abilities). She embraced the mousy-haired girl desperately, "You're here! I can't-" A sob caught in her throat, and as Eli got out of the car, he betrayed the smallest smile at his companion's joy. She had been right. Something was definitely happening.

Cassius stole another glance up at the sky, the weather had been fine this morning but had since started to turn and the sky had run from scattered patches of cloud to low ragged banks of grey that seemed to not only stifle the sun, but muffle the whole world as if wrapped in a blanket. This wasn't uncommon for this time of year, nor was it uncommon for the mountainous coasts of British Columbia. As a seasoned hunting guide, this was just part and parcel of a life spent out of doors in one of the wildest places on Earth.

He turned to survey the rest of his group as they followed behind him on the trail. It had been a good hunt, not without its share of difficulty and hardship but, ultimately a successful one. On the second last day they had brought down the bull moose they had been following for some time and now it was time to return. He turned back and shouted both warning of the weather, and encouraging the laggards with thoughts of warm fires, strong coffee and stronger whisky.

We could be in for a hell of a storm if this keeps up, and I don't know about you but I'd much rather be sat in the cabin when it hits! He yelled over the increasingly insistent tone of the wind. The pace increased, and at long last over the rise the cabin appeared just a little farther down the valley. A ragged cheer arose and the pace quickened again with the sight and smell of hearth now that much nearer at hand.

They reached the cabin just as the rain began to make itself felt, splashing down in big heavy drops that sprayed off everything they hit. Cassius stood by the door and clapped everyone on the back, making sure that at long last, he was the final member of their party to enter the sprawling cabin that served as home base for Darkwood Hunting and Angling. Hey Bill! Made it back with one in the bag, how 'bout ya break out the case of beer I know you've got stashed in back. He hollered, finally swinging his pack off his shoulder and propping it against the door.

An elderly gentleman tottered out from behind the bar grumbling under his breath All right, all right, keep yer shirt on. You get one each and you can drink it where ya likes, after that ya gots to stay at the bar. You hear the news by the by? He continued as he plunked a six pack down on the long table that graced part of the main room. Come on Bill you know damned well that I haven't unless you tried sending smoke signals. It's not exactly like we get BBC in the back country.

Bill chuckled True 'nough True 'nough. Well get a load of this then, Great big meteor come crashing down over in Washington D.C. there. The real kicker? Looks like it may well be made o' gold. Huh What do ya think of that? Why it's all they been showin' on the news, can't even barely watch the game he griped.

Cassius paused for a second wondering if it could really be happening. He had never known many people from Aurum, his natural abilities and personality having put him in the role of a scout most often. He had spent a lot of time wandering, but sure enough as soon as he heard the words spoken in Dicere, the ancient phrase called to him. He knew whether or not he knew anyone that he would go back. After all, this was his duty as his father had raised him, and there could be no turning his back on it. Huh, well I'll be damned. Don't have any trips scheduled for a while. I'm going to go to DC Bill, I'll bring ya back a piece if it's real gold.

As Bill chuckled Cassius was already heading to his room to pack a bag and a few short hours later, having changed into jeans a grey shirt and a nice green henley, he was on his way to DC, to the address that had been specified. He hadn't know many of the kids who'd gotten out in those last hectic days. He was pretty sure he'd seen Viviannah Bellum and had thought he'd heard some of the Royals had even made it, but other than that couldn't think of anyone he'd recognize. Heck Viviannah might not even remember him. By the time he was old enough to pay attention to such things she'd already become a prodigy in the district eventually even winding up in the personal guard of one of the Royals. His father had run him hard to keep up with her example and Cassius had trained about as hard as it was to train thanks to his fathers often brutal treatment. He liked to fancy he'd gained some small amount of recognition, but nowhere near the level of Viviannah Bellum.

These thoughts saw him through takeoff and into the air where he fell asleep only to wake as the wheels hit tarmac in DC. He rented a car and drove to the address he had heard the meteor was near noticing that sure enough others had already started to gather at the large house. He strode briskly up the pavement his Fire District tattoo on display as he rolled up the sleeves of his henley, paused before the door when he noticed a teary reunion going on between several people and a woman he recognized as being part of the Light District. He took a moment to deliver he a deferential nod before delivering three sharp knocks and waited.

Tap. Tap. Tap.
"I think we've got what we need."
"I do too, but one should always take a few extra shots just in case. C'mon Ollie."
Tap. Tap. Tap.
"Ollie? Oliver!"
Tap. Tap. Tap.

A hand was firmly placed over Oliver's tapping fingers, bringing the boy out of his accidental trance. He looked up with a hum, confused as to why all eyes were suddenly on him. "What? What's going on?". His manager Ricky let out a quiet sigh, signaling the photographers that their daydreaming model would be over there shortly before taking a seat beside him. "Alright, talk. What's going on?" Oliver, in turn, kept silent, his eyes round and curious as if to question what exactly the man was referring to. Ricky made it clear he wasn't buying the act of innocence. "Don't give me that look. You've been acting weird since yesterday morning!" The young boy blinked a couple of times before getting to his feet in an attempt to get away from the questions. "I'm not acting weird, you are." he protested. Though a good plan, it didn't work the way he hoped. After giving Oliver an overdramatic eye roll, Ricky followed his lead and got to his feet, standing directly in his path. "Really, then explain to me why you haven't even touched your lunch."

"I'm just not hungry." Ollie answered with a slight shrug, to which Ricky immediately responded with a shake of the head. "Highly unlikely." Once again, Oliver attempted to move past the man, but he proved to be just as if not more stubborn than he. The two mimicked each other's stance by folding their arms across their chest as a sign of not backing down as Ricky continued to speak. "You've been spacing out since yesterday morning. Ever since-" he paused, a sudden look of disbelief taking over his otherwise tranquil features. "Please don't tell me that meteor and all those alien conspiracies have you spooked. You don't actually believe in that stuff, do you?" There was a sudden knot in the pit of Oliver's stomach at the mention of the so-called "meteor". Even as he firmly responded "Of course not!" and successfully pushed past Ricky with the excuse of his needing to do his job, the knot remained.

Truth be told, that's all the silver-haired boy had been able to think about since the previous morning. When the news of the "golden meteor" hit France, he'd been working. He didn't have a chance to see it until a few hours later while he was having lunch with his manager. The images that flashed across the restaurant television sent uncontrollable shivers down his spine. There it was clear as day. There was no mistaking the symbols that adorned the golden gloss. And that phrase he'd heard time and time again from the moment he was born. Lux in tenebris , aureum cordibus. He recalled his mother very tenderly teaching him those exact words, and what it meant for them.

"Every citizen of Aurum is important, Ollie. Every one of them has a heart of gold. And we have to be their light when times are dark."

Before he'd realized, he was running out of the restaurant with his manager frantically calling out to him. From the moment Oliver found himself on Earth, on this foreign planet in a city he knew nothing about, he'd been desperately searching for something, anything that could lead him back home. Back to his people and his family. Over the years, he'd all but given up. He still searched from time to time. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he felt there was still hope, but common sense often scolded him for being so naive. However, the moment he saw and heard the news it's as if light had given birth to hope again.

This is how he ended up in Customs and Immigration at the Washing DC airport. Admittedly, it was wrong of him not to tell Ricky he'd be leaving indefinitely until the day of the flight. Eleven hours and a half later and the man was scolding him through the phone line, wondering why the hell he'd decided to ditch so suddenly. "This is insane, Oliver, even for you!". Ollie tried his best to appease the man, promising to return as soon as "matters are taken care of", though he never mentioned he had no clue when that would be. Finally, after what seemed like hours and a hundred and one procedures later, he was handed back his passport and sent off to baggage claim. Oliver's nerves were running ramped the closer he was to the destination. Demi, Bea, Po, Vivi...and Leo...all these people he assumed to be dead could very well be alive and quite possibly somewhere in this very city.

VIVIANNAH BELLUM
Washington DC | outfit | dialogue: #822222
Image
Image
Viviannah was nervous. No...afraid, for the first time in her life. AFraid of how fast everything was happening. One moment her and Demi were living as much of a normal life as they could manage, which admittedly wasn't so hard with heir abilities dulled almost to non-existent. The next, there was a giant golden chunk of metal basically within their back yard's reach. Not just any chunk of metal, but a piece of home. A home Vivi never imagined she'd get to see again. And based on what both her and Demi were experiencing, said chunk of metal brought with it much more than Dicere markings. It was as if being far from home for too long stripped them of their birth given abilities, but all it took was a small piece of their vast home planet to breathe life back into them. And although Vivi was grateful for her abilities that were slowly returning, she was hesitant. It also brought nerves, fear, and a group of strangers right to their home.

”Vi…go check and see who it is.” the raven-haired girl took one more swig of her coffee and sat the cup down with a light clink. The steps to the door were slow and calculated as she envisioned what could be on the other side of it. Once opened, Vivi stood with the knob in her hand as her dark eyes examined the face in front of hers. It was vaguely familiar. She'd met this man before, but not enough to remember his name it seemed. "ID please." she said, mimicking the words she'd heard from the border patrol on Aurum each time she traveled. For humans, being asked for an ID meant they'd be handing in a small card with basic information such as name and birthdate. For someone from Aurum, this meant something entirely different. Instead of a small, plastic card, they'd have to show their district emblem, regardless of what part of the body it was tattooed on. It was the best way of making sure each person was who they claimed to be without asking too many questions.

The first guest proved to be from the Time control district, which in turn explained why Viviannah almost recognized him. She stepped aside to let him in, allowing Demi the chance to give him his welcome. After him came a few more, to which Viviannah did the same procedure, unintentionally making herself a bouncer of sorts. Though they all checked off as legitimate, there were none she recognized until... "ID ple-" her words trailed off as the features of the man in front of her were matched to memory. Her mouth hung open for a few short seconds before she managed to form actual words. "Cas?" Of all the people she'd thought to see, Cassius was not one of them. It'd been so long since she'd last seen him. Since before the war, even. From the moment Vivi left their district to work for the Royal family, she hadn't seen Cas in person. It was surreal. His face looked so familiar...but at the same time so different.

She took a moment to let a few others in, among them was Leonardo Magnus. She imagined Oliver's face if he were there. It wasn't much of a secret that the prince had taken a liking to him. As for the reasons why Vivi had absolutely no idea. She never liked the guy. Not before the war and most certainly not now. Though she wanted to spit every profanity in her vocabulary at him, there were still others nearby soon to be wanting in. She put into play that patience Demi had so often talked to her about and simply sent let him inside with a glare before turning back to Cas, her arms instinctively folding over her chest. "I had no idea you were...I mean, it's...been a while."

Bea felt a pit in her stomach as she looked up at the house, contemplating whether or not to actually walk up to the front door. She saw someone at the front door but she was in her own head that she didn't realize who it was. Over and over again she was going around asking herself if she was ready to actually be thrust back into the role of Beatrice Amador, the title she had spent years trying to remove even after coming to Earth. She did everything in her power to get away from that girl, to become Bea and never have to think of her again: She chopped off her somewhat beloved locks, had gotten tattoos, bumps, bruises, and scars all over her body from her adventures, and completely gave up on trying to rebuild the lavish lifestyle she was used to on Aurum. At one point she even thought about trying to remove her I.D on the bottom of her neck and the two ones below it: a small family crest and another of their family's mantra, just to remove the one constant reminder of the life she left behind but, she's a sucker for sentiment and deep down knew that was the last real momento to connect her to her family that had done everything in their power to give Bea a chance to live. "You could walk away right now, no one would ever know. You could go back to Sydney and act as if you never saw any message." Which was tempting. Until the annoying voice in her head (who sounded a lot like her father) reminded of something; Amadors don't run from things, they fight through them and see it through, no matter what. Which honestly seemed ironic at this point but, he was right. Beatrice or Bea Amador didn't just run away from things because she was afraid, she never did and she didn't plan on starting now. Besides, she wanted to know who was all here. Throughout her time on this planet, she caught her mind wondering about the possibility that anyone she knew had to have made it to safety with her. Deep down she knew it couldn't have just been her but, she didn't even know where to start with that search.

Before she could get any more into her own thoughts, she heard her name and turned around to find where it was coming from. Only to be met with Oona Agnelli running towards her. The girl could have knocked the both of them down with how fast she was running but Bea pulled her into her arms, letting out a breathless gasp as her arms tightened around her and made sure the two of them didn't topple over. She kept letting out small gasps as she shakily held on to one of her closest friends. She was so stunned, she couldn't start sobbing like Oona was when Bea pulled away from her to truly look at her. "I can't believe this." She wiped away the tears running down Oona's face before smiling as this was the moment that Bea actually came to terms with what all of this meant, people she had thought she would never see again weren't just alive. They were on Earth with her and she was only feet away from seeing who else made it out. She was so concentrated on Oona and her 'epiphany' of sorts that she wasn't paying attention to who was passing by them and entering the house. She snapped out of it and turned around to see others enter the same house and looked back at Oona, wiping away a few tears of her own. "We should probably go inside, we can see who else is here and... you tell me everything." She held on to Oona with one hand and used her other to grab her bags that had fallen to the ground once she hugged Oona. Walking up to the massive house, she couldn't help but look around, sure it wasn't as great as her place on Aurum, it was still amazing that one of their own had done so well for themselves. She had to admire it. As she looked for any recognizable faces, she realized the house's apparent residential pitbull, was checking everyone's I.Ds. Bea groaned. It was moments like this she wanted to have her own 'do you know who my father is' moment but digressed.

She played along with the screening, putting her backpack near a corner of the room and moving the collar of her flannel so her emblems could be seen by everyone. But, once seeing who the one checking I.Ds was, her face fell into disbelief, Viviannah Bellum, one of the guards that was designated to protect her father. She was good at her job, Bea'd give her that but it only made her and Ollie's lives a hell of a lot harder when it came to sneaking around before the guard was moved to protect Ollie. They were friendly enough but, seeing her, she was excited that meant maybe someone from the royal family, an extended part of hers, could have made it out alive. Looking around she tried to see if any one of them were one of the Argentis, but no luck. She took a deep breath before looking back at Oona. Her smile quickly came back as she looked at her friend. "So, tell me everything." She chuckled and moved the two away from the entry way.

The car ride from the airport to the meeting location was relatively short, roughly about thirty to thirty-five minutes, most of which Oliver spent answering Apollo’s infinite number of questions. But he did so blissfully, each with a smile. The fleeting moments of silence were accompanied by the silver head of hair leaning on Apollo’s shoulder, the other’s presence feeling almost too surreal for the young prince’s comfort but before they knew it a grand estate appeared in front of them. Ollie double checked the address he’d hurriedly jotted into the notes feature of his phone to confirm that this was in fact where they were meant to be.

The driver came to a slow stop about half a block off the edge of the property, the rest of the street being much too congested for him to drive any further. The prince’s azure orbs scanned the structure from its foundation to the copper made roof. A familial aura wrapped itself around it, growing stronger the closer they drew, but not quite something he could place his finger on. There were a couple of people at the door. At first glance, they appear to be in conversation, but seconds later, they stepped inside to reveal a pair of faces. One, Ollie did not recognize, while the other brought a crashing wave of relief over his entire body.

”ID p-” the raven haired woman’s eyes reamed in astonishment, her mouth mimicking their shape as Oliver’s figure moved closer. Excitement dictated his actions as he rushed forward, arms wrapping tightly around Viviannah’s waist. ”Vivi, oh my god!” just for a moment, shock prevented her from moving, form frozen in place as the reality of what was happening seeped in. Soon enough, her arms returned the embrace, her shock now replaced with utter relief. ”Holy shit-!” she breathed out, almost instantly pulling away from the prince with a hasty bow. ”I mean, your highness, I’m so sorry-” she took half a step back, creating a sliver of distance between them.

Ollie’s arms folded across his chest in protest, a subtle frown replacing his previously cheerful features. ”Vivi, come on, we’ve talked about this…” Viviannah’s cold exterior softened ever so slightly, shoulders slumping into a defeated stance. ”Right...Oliver.” the frown eased from the boy’s face as she outstretched her arms, hands gently cupping his cheeks. ”You have no idea how relieved I am to see you…”. The smile took its place on the prince’s face once again. Perhaps he didn’t, but he did know how wonderful it felt to see her, how it felt to see Apollo and Ezra at the airport, to know that he wasn’t alone, rather than just aimlessly hope.

After her extended hello towards Apollo and Ezra, Viviannah let the three of them inside. Oliver never thought to ask exactly who’s home they were using. Was it Vivi’s new home? Perhaps that’s why she was in charge of checking identities. It was a spacious and well-kept home, reminiscent of the average estates within the light district. The thought alone prompted a bittersweet feeling in his chest. Had anyone else from his district survived? Or was he all on his own? What would others think when they saw him? Did they believe all those things the Thunder district accused his family of doing? They would never- he would never harm anyone even with reason.

The young boy’s heart rate picked up in seconds, his face reflecting every conflicting emotion he felt. He had half a mind to turn around and run out the same door he came in through, but before fear could get the better of him, a familiar sight pulled him back to reality. His eyes locked on the girl, her petite figure too impossible to forget. Beside her stood another beautifully familiar figure, her bright persona practically oozing from her pores. Suddenly, Ollie’s throat felt restricted, the words threatening to break before they could even leave his lips. After several long seconds of staring, and attempting to speak, he could only manage to call out their names. ”Bee...? Oona...?”

Bea was so invested in her conversation with Oona, that nothing else really mattered at the moment. She didn't even see some of her other close friends were in the house since she was catching up with Oona. Hearing all about her life as a chef in South Korea, while she told the force district girl about how much her life had changed since being on Earth from her career to where she lives, and how much she loved being on the planet even after this long. She could have talked to the girl for hours on end. It was funny. Bea never even thought about just how much she missed Aurium until she was surrounded by its citizens and just the energy the group gave off. It was weird, to say the least, but, more comforting than she'd even care to admit. She had been so resistant that she would go back for the world but, just being surrounded by others just like her, made her feel more at home than she has in a long time. But, even this wasn't enough to change her mind into going back if given the chance. She didn't know the odds of them being able to get home but, she didn't want to. She wanted to stay here. She loved it here. And there wasn't a thing that could change that--...

"Bee...?"

Her mouth immediately dropped slightly, her eyes widen in disbelief. She tried to take another breath but, it was caught in her throat as she stood up slowly. It wasn't possible. She had to have misheard whoever's voice that was. But, even before she turned around her eyes started to tear up, she felt as if someone had a grip on her heart. Making it even harder for her to breath. She turned to see the face of who she saw as her brother. She couldn't even say anything, she tried to say something. Anything. But, all she could do was just stared at the blonde boy for what felt like forever as she tried to regulate her short breaths and regain her peripheral vision but, all she could do was notice him. She just ran up to him and held him in her arms. She was trembling as she tightened her grasp on him as it finally sunk in that Ollie, her 'first' little brother, her family even if it wasn't by name or blood, was alive. For so long, she had thought that every last trace of both sides of her extended family and their whole district was gone and she'd never see them again. She pulled away to look him in the eyes and brush her fingers through his blonde locks and against his emblem as she was finally being able to say something. She let her hand fall to his arm as she other hand was wiping away to tears from her eyes. "I can't believe this." But, before he could say a word, she was holding him again as if they hadn't seen each other in centuries.
