Vale is shorter than most women but it's not noticeable until she removes her boots which, adds a few inches. Her skin is naturally tanned which goes beautifully with her reddish-brown hair, brown eyes and rosy lips. The young navigator is lean from many years of pirating and swimming but her curves can never be hidden. A real Spanish beauty, underneath the dirt, salt and sweat. Most days she's seen with her orange coat that's been patched up many times and brown trousers with the many leather fastening but when it gets hot she discards the coat and just wears the brown leather top she holds up with a leather strap. Valentina is also known for wearing her many gold rings as well as her gold forehead ornament.

- She cannot, for the life of her sleep with her pants on. Always takes them off before bed, except when napping which is why she doesn't take too many.
- Plays her guitar late nights above deck and might even sing in Spanish if she's feeling up to it.
- Her star and sea charts used in navigation all have hand painted backgrounds by her.
- Takes good care of her hair, always smells flowery and would probably send anyone to their grave if they ever did something to it.
- Studies other languages on her spare or lone time and can be heard mumbling foreign words or curses.

- Really high, heights.
- Huge insects that buzz.
- Dying early in general but especially by fire.

- Navigating: Vale was mentored from a young age on how to navigate by the stars. At the same time, she was already at the helm of a ship, also navigating by sea. If you need to go through a storm that not even the current helmsman can handle, Vale is your pirate.
- Limber: quick and nimble, Valentina is a lively fighter and a fast runner. She can squeeze into tight places and fights with a decent amount of sweeps and acrobatics.
- Knives & Daggers: ever since she first learned how to defend herself she's always picked up daggers or knives. It's her go-to weapon of choice because she's so used to fighting in close quarters. She has two of them on her belt, a knife in her boot, a dagger clipped to the back of her pants, hidden by her coat and I wouldn't be surprised to say she might have some up her sleeves. She's also got great precision with them and can tell where a blade might be from by its markings and style.
- Guitar: the only instrument she ever learned how to play. She can make that guitar strum out the most passionate strings you've ever heard and it comes in handy when the crew starts singing their shanties, riles them up some more.

- The Crew: she's close if not friends with at least everyone on the ship and wouldn't want to see anyone of them hurt or dead. It'll hurt her, especially those she's close with. They can be used as leverage over her.
- Alcohol: about half a bottle of rum (a bottle of wine) in and Valentina is ready to literally swim with the sharks or flirt with someone and sing the rest of the night away.
- Gold jewlery: forget the coins! (maybe not) Valentina is very fond of gold jewelry, sells for more in a market and she really likes gold rings in particular.
- Protective: when she's been around someone for so long and considers them family or really close friends then she becomes really protective of them.
Valentina is a woman of passion and loyalty; her love runs deep and true. For those who she trusts Vale is loyal to and the ones she holds dear to her heart, she'd fight for. For the most part, Vale is easy-going, that is, if she's not already mad about something. She's charming when she wants to be but one wrong move on your part and she'd have a knife at your throat in 3 seconds. See Valentina doesn't like being talked down too nor does she play nice when it comes to the wellbeing of her mates, and because of this, she may have a shorter fuse than most.
If there is one thing Valentina learned growing up, it's that you have to have cojones in this life. She's always been a daring little lass, even more so after a few drinks but when she met her uncle that boldness grew. That paired with some self-confidence and Valentina makes her own luck. Knowing la senorita, she's more likely to get herself into trouble because of her sarcastic humor, clever tongue, and curious tendencies, ending up in the right place at the wrong times.
That's when he appeared on one bright and hot afternoon, almost right on cue, TomĂĄs De la Torre otherwise known as The Devil's Merchant and a well-respected pirate. With his orange coat, heavy brown boots, reddish-brown hair and rather menacing looking crew behind him, he was everything Vale had heard about pirates and then some. Rayos, it came as a shock when she first heard his name. Her mother mentioned him before as her father's little brother but never said he was the pirate of her tales. Like a whirlwind, by the end of that month, Valentina lost her mother. She was then taken under her uncle's wing and brought onto his ship as their newest crew member.
He finished teaching her how to read and write, taught her how to defend herself and read the stars. After some months Valentina began getting the hang of ship duties. She worked hard to keep her mind off of things and would stay up late with the festive crew singing salomas. Where she learned how to play the guitar quite well. One night, her uncle told her to grab hold of the helm and she did. Vale felt big and powerful behind the sail and De la Torre saw that sparkle in her eye. He would begin leaving Valentina at the helm when he was needed elsewhere on the ship and about a year into their ventures and after countless raids where Vale proved her skills, she took the helm permanently.
Five years later and Valentina is now twelve, one of the youngest helmsmen at sea and a wild little lass. She's been known to sneak off the ship at port and cause trouble ashore, of the thieving sorts which would lead to her first run-in with the Spanish Armada. CapitĂĄn Edwardo Santiago de La Maria San Juan was the unlucky victim of Valentina's thievery on this fateful day. She stole a very nice-looking spyglass from his belt and casually made her way out until the man bellowed from inside the bar and stormed out. Vale had guilty written all over her face when she looked at him and thus the chase began. Valentina got back to the ship in time and they were able to put some distance between them but they were still tracked for two weeks. Persistent bastards but De la Torre made sure that Valentina got an earful.
