Introduction
Eagles Bend was established in 1850 by a preacher named Harold Bend and a wagon train of settlers who followed him, the dusty little town is situated in the Texan desert and home to a little over 300 people. Arising from a few wagons and people with a dream, Eagle Bend has quickly risen into a booming town, but with the Civil War building halted and whilst the men were away the town was subjected to Bandit and Indian raids. Many people fled but few remained unwilling to leave behind the town they had fought so hard to build, when the war ended many hoped that things would get back to normal, however this wouldnβt be the case. Many of the men had been killed or maimed in the war and so unable to protect themselves Eagle Bend quickly became a haven for outlaws who in turn encouraged more families flee the town. Now only around 150 people remain, yet these remaining few are determined that this is not the end and will stop at nothing to have Eagle Bend a safe place once again.

Eliza Hunters home on the outskirt of town, a quaint little place which Eliza has made as homely as she could
It's the year 1866, the war has been over for a year but the citizens of Eagles Bend have been battling for months, then one day when the town gets wind of an impending Indian attack, seven passing strangers will step up to protect the town which they will eventually call home...

Lillith Jackson: The 18 year old shop keep, pretty and flirtatious, she turns many heads around town.

Ana leaned against the door frame of her doctors surgery, her flaxen hair blowing slightly in the breeze, which was a welcomed relief in the sweltering Texan heat. Her blue eyes panned the dusty street as she marvelled at how much the town had grown in the six years since she had taken up residence here with her husband. It seemed like such a long time ago, she was barely sixteen when she married the handsome eighteen year old west point graduate and in those short few years she felt like she had already gone through a life time of emotions. When her husband died, she remembered her family urging her to come back home, a young mother of twenty living in a dangerous frontier town terrified her parents and at first it did her also, she came extremely close to packing up and moving back home, but taking one look at her surgery all doubt and uncertainty was gone. Ana had worked hard to build a life here, she had put her heart and soul into this town and it was Eagles Bend where she would live out till the end of her days.
It wasnβt an easy life, she was a female doctor by profession and the world still seemed too narrow minded to even entertain the thought, so regrettably she still relied on an allowance given to her by her father and the money she had inherited from her husband to keep herself and her son fed and clothed. Business was extremely slow, even though the nearest doctor besides herself was half a dayβs hard ride away; she still wasnβt anybodies first choice. The thought saddened her really, she had worked damned hard to become a licensed doctor and she was good one at that, if only they would give her a chance.
It was safe to say that the town had indeed grown over the years but had also shrunk many of the familiar faces she had been familiar with had moved on, since many of the men had either been killed or maimed in the war the town had quite frankly gone to the dogs, it was no longer safe, outlaws roamed freely, doing what the pleased and with no one to stop them they considered Eagles Bend a Safe Haven. Never-the-less she wasnβt going to give up that easily, this town was important to her and she for one wasnβt going to give up without a fight.

Quinton groaned lightly as the first lights of the morning shone into he and his sisters home. Sitting up, he sighed lightly and ran a hand through his mess of blonde hair.
"Lil? You still home?" He called, smiling lightly at the scilence that followed. "Guess not." He grumbled. As he hoisted himself from the bed, he looked about the tiny room. His collie, Jasper, was curled up in his respectable place near the door. Quickly, the lawman dressed himself and made his way out. "Jasper. Breakfast." He whistled, and the dog followed him eagarly to the kitchen. Pulling out a can of preserves his sister had made, he dumped them into two seperate bowls and sat down to a breakfast with his loyal companion.
Lily
The girl groaned in pure boredom as she looked about her empty shop. It was early, yes, but still. It would have been nice for someone to come in and talk to her. Her store was smallish, an outpost more then a supermarket. The isles where lined with jars and cans; the occasional sweet treat, and ofcoarse her isle of booze.

Felix drove his cart down until he came upon a young woman leaning on her door frame. The sign above her door said "The Surgery" and Felix smiled. Most would assume that the woman was the nurse or candy stripper but Felix wasn't most people. He could tell that she was so much more then that. He could see the sorrow in her eyes and the pressure that pushed down on her shoulders. It was obvious that she was the Doctor. If Felix's father were here he'd be outraged at this. "It's not their place!" he'd say. Felix on the other hand found it amazingly funny. All odd things were funny to Felix. That's just who he was.
"Hello Mam!" Felix said as he stopped his cart and jumped down to the ground. "What's the news in this area?" he asked as he slowly moved closer to her. "I am a medical man and I'd like to know i my services would be needed here in the near future?"

Ana looked towards the man moving closer to her with a slight smile, she knew he wasn't from around here, besides the fact that she knew everyone in town his persona gave him an out of town vibe. Usually she would be slightly weary about new faces in town, it was hard to know who to trust and who was here just to cause trouble, smiling at him as he approached she stood up straight smoothing out the slight creases in her full skirt "Good afternoon sir" she greeted warmly βWelcome to Eagles Bendβ she smiled "I am a medical man and I'd like to know if my services would be needed here in the near future?" and suddenly her smiled falter slightly βoh so are you a doctor?β she asked raising one of her perfectly shaped brows, feeling that if this man was a doctor she would lose even the little business she had left.

Too bad Art left his rifle in it's saddle holster or else this would be over right quick. Good thing his horse, Hurricane, was smart and hid behind cover too. There was only two of them and they did not look organized at all. Deciding that these men were more stupid than evil Art sprung to his feet and aimed his Colt at the right knee of the fatter bandit and fired while also pulling out the other Colt with his left hand and fired at the foot of the other skinny wild toothed bandit. They both dropped their guns because they obviously couldn't handle the pain.
They both started screaming like the cowards they were, begging for their lives, etc. Art just silently walked over to the chubby one and pulled out his Bowie knife and thrust it towards the man's neck. The fear in his eyes could not compare to the girlish squeal he let out. Shutting his eyes the man thought he died but couldn't figure out why he still felt pain in his knee. He opened up his eyes and found Art studying the gold tooth that was once around his neck in the form of a necklace. Art stooped over grabbed chunky's revolver and emptied it and took the three shells that were left in the cylinder. He threw it in a bush so fatty could retrieve it later. Art then walked to near the skinny one and grabbed his shotgun that lay in the dirt. Art couldn't figure out what kind of shotgun due to the busted up body of it but he could still sell it.
"Don't do anything stupid" Was all Art said.
Art saddled up and left the bandits to fend for themselves against the wilderness but they still had one pistol. Art wasn't heartless. He had to leave something for em. Art rode Southeast looking for any town that was nearby, he was tired and he wanted to rest and get more ammo. He spotted a small town after a few hours and decided to ride towards it.
Eagle Bend?
Cute name. Entering the outskirts of town he noticed it was kind of a junky place to live in but it wasn't broken down. He found a shop and parked Hurricane near a water trough and walked in the shop. He noticed no one was there except for the shopkeeper and he tipped his hat towards her. Art really did not look at her because he was busy with the supplies.
"Nice place ya got here." He said to the girl while browsing the aisles.

Rounding the bend that showed the straight shot through their small town of Eagle Bend, Jenny had to slow her walking a few more steps to stay beside Gene. From the slight knit of his brow to his lack of conversation, the young girl could only let out a sigh; not quiet of annoyance, but of preparation. It was going to be one of those dayβs that dear big brother needed an extra push for the morning. And push she did.
βCβmon Gene! Weβre gonna be late if you keep hobbling around like Grannyβs oleβ mule! And I mean after she lost her sight!β A slight hop to add to her height led Jenny to hit the backside of her brotherβs hat and topple it off his head along with the insult. βIf youβre going to be this slow βbout it, guess you wonβt mind letting me borrow this?β she said with a coyote grin slipping across her face. Grabbing Geneβs walking stick from beneath his arm and giving the boy one last good pop on the behind with it, Jenny kept her ears open for insults as she took off down the street.
Grasp firm around the wooden leg of the stick Jenny grinned while the wind wiped her hair behind her as she relished the freedom of running. Passing the bank and post office, the moment quickly ended as she bounded up onto the front porch of Mrs. Potterβs store; quickly leaning the walking stick against the outside wall and sitting next to it while tipping her own hat forward just above her eyes. Taking the moment to see if there were any familiar faces up and down the road, she couldnβt help but be a bit surprised to see a new horse. Sure they had passer-throughs even in a small town like this, but usually you saw them tethered out by one of the saloons. If she didnβt already have other business to attend to, she would have had to say high to the beauty of a horse.
Earβs catching a familiar sound she grew up with her whole life, Jenny quickly dipped her head down into what appeared like a sleeping state as her hat hid the grin still breaking through on her face. βDang, heβs getting faster each morning.β She mumbled beneath her breath, that small glint of joy for her brother already making it a good day.

"You wicked she-devil! Get back here with my stick! What's wrong with ya huh?!" She didn't even stop to honor him with an answer which aggravated him even more. Hobbling his way past the doctor's office he quickly greeted her as he made his awkward way past "Howdy Ana!" He noted she was talking to a stranger which would have caused him to stop and investigate on a normal day but he knew that gal was capable of protecting herself and if he was to do anything he needed his beating stick back! "Jenny I swear if you don't stop then Imma be forced to whoop you!"
Whoo! That girl was quick! He only caught up to her because she deemed it necessary to tease him further by lounging on the porch of Ms. Potter's store. Well then, if she wanted to be so mean today he could toss that right back. Making his final steps, step, ah hell, hops over there he plopped down beside his little sister with a tired grunt. "You know I can't just let you git away with that right?" He smirked before shoving her hat firmly over her head, snatching his stick and scrambling his way inside while laughing. Ah this was gonna be a good day! Strangers in town meant more business which was great, or more danger, that reminded him he would need to check on Ms. Ana in a bit.

He moved into the wagon and started going through his sales pitch. "I am a good engineer, a crack shot with a rifle. I can be a blacksmith, a chemist or a physician's assistant if you so desire! I can make alcohol, numbing agents, and a variety of other less...... traditional methods of curing common illness's! I can do whatever you need me to!" As he finished up he jumped down from his wagon and moved closer, once again, to the young doctor. "Miss. may I offer you some advice? If you want this town to respect you why not take me on as a nurse? They will then see that you are capable and wise. Not to mention they may come here and demand I see them, which is still money in your pocket!" He moved to the top step and bowed once again "I would be pleased to be you servant Madame!"

As the bell above the door to the store gave its melodic tingle, the girl looked up from her doodling. It was nothing special; a stick figure, a flower, a sun. Looking up to the male, she smiled sweetly, giving a light wave in welcome.
βWhy thank you, sir. Is there anything I can help you with?β She asked, not bothering to pull her normal flirtatious routine. There was no point, he wasnβt looking at her.
βWe have a sale on apples today, half off.β She said, her eyes darting to the window as she spotted the horse outside. βIsnβt he a darling?β She cooed, always having a soft spot for horses.
Quinton
The young lawman groaned as he made his way into the blinding sunlight, his dog trailing at his heels. He watched in amusement as Jenny and Gene made their way past him. He gave them a slight tilt of the hat, but it seemed they didnβt notice. Shrugging it off, he began his way around town, his hands stashed in his pockets.

"Why thank you, sir. Is there anything I can help you with?" She asked, while also mentioning the sale on apples. Then she made the comment about Hurricane.
Suddenly Art got into the talkative mood. "Well I found everything i needed but I can't can't say no to a deal like that. I'll take ten miss." Art smiled "I can tell you took a liking to my horse, did ya want to feed him one of those apples? I think he'd like to have a new friend."

She listened as he spoke some more and by the second he was going up in her estimations, she honestly believe that this man would be a great asset in their little town "you need not say anymore Mr Bonati, I assure you, you have impressed me quite enough" she smiled "but hiring you as a nurse?" she laughed slightly "are you sure you can handle the gossip on that one? Let me warn you, the people of this town, the women especially have quite a viscous tongue on them. I wouldn't want you to become subject of ridicule because your doing a job meant for a woman, trust me when I say I know how that feels" she paused for a moment before laughing "Not that I care what the old bats of this town think of me" she smirked her voice rising slightly as a woman in question walked past them, her snooty little nose pointed high in the air, letting out a heartily laugh she shook her head "I'll tell you I don't do myself any favours, apparently I'm far to opinionated!" Letting out a slight she looked back at Felix "well if your serious about this, come back and see me at around 5o'clock and we will discuss your wage."

In the dusty distance, a rugged figure slowly-but-surely made its way closer to the town of Eagle Bend. His leather duster fluttered faintly in the cool breeze, his weather-beaten shoes crunching in the fine dirt rolling about beneath him. Cobalt blue eyes peered out from the shadowing hat drooped over his face. The small town in his sights seemed like a good place to spend a couple nights... take a load off after wandering about in the desert for a week. With any luck, the town would have a Saloon. Maybe some decent tasting whiskey and a quiet spot where he could play his guitar.
Leading on a thirsty-looking mule, laden with a meager collection of half-empty bags, Rand Brackett came to Eagle Bend.

He went out around five miles and then pulled his horses down into a small gulley. He prepared his bed, which was in the front compartment behind where he sat when he drove, for that night. He then put his Lemalt into his shoulder holster, just to be safe. His Yellow Boy he put on his back as he jumped down and walked around to the back. Once in there he dragged a chest from the very front of the carriage and took around to his horses. From it he extracted 5 apples and cut them in half, giving 3.5 to each horse. He then moved the horses into the shade and left them to eat.
Felix, not forgetting his slight military training, knew he was being watched. He couldn't decide who it was but he knew they were in the West. There was an odd smell coming from that direction and it smelled faintly of smoke. Whoever he/she was Felix didn't like being watched so he hunkered down into his makeshift cot and pulled his Yellowboy around. "Come out whoever you are! I'm the best shot I ever met so one wrong move and I'll blow your brains out!"

Lily smiled and began scribbling down the prices of the males groceries. She looked up to him, actually seeing him for the first time. He was handsome, she would give him that. It was then that her eyes drifted to the scar that graced his eye. As a blush appeared on her face, she looked down.
"Caramel, salt, and a bushel... Nah, I'll gives you 12. Same price... That'll be.... two dollars." She giggled, smiling up to the man. "Please sir, my name is Lily. We're all friends here, no need to be so formal." She cooed as she turned around to gather a basket full of ripe green apples, which she had collected from her own small orchard in her back garden.
"Oh may I?" She asked, her emerald eyes holding a delighted spark to them as she looked to the beautiful horse outside.

The blonde's attention turned to the newcomer and the mule. Casually, the boy strode up and offered his hand in welcome.
"Welcome to Eagle Bend, sir."

Standing up she smoothed out the creases in her dress and grabbed her purse before venturing outside once more. Walking down the boardwalk she smiled at the familiar faces she knew, until she reached her destination, the shop, smirking as she saw her friend Lily talking to a rather handsome stranger, hanging back for a moment not wanting to interrupt their conversation.

Standing up with a final glare inside Ms. Potterβs store, Jenny walked off the boardwalk and stepped foot into the sunlight and onto the dirt road cutting through their small town of Eagleβs Bend. Hat in hand it didnβt seem to have any damage as the girl glanced over it one last time. As she looked for the all clear to cross the road for work, she couldnβt help but stop her gaze to the store with the beautiful horse from before. It looked like Lily had caught a customer and young man in one as she watched the two talk. More than likely with a bit of flirting if Lily was involved.
Now, itβs not like she disliked the girl; but every time she saw her, she saw everything she wasnβt. She wasnβt the pretty girl in the dress. She wasnβt the one to flirt with a man. And she definitely wasnβt the one a man would look twice at wearing dusty pants and her brotherβs shirt. Even working as a shopkeep wasnβt her. Jenny had done about any other job in town just to make enough money, and bartender wasnβt exactly one of the most ladylike of the bunch. But with that thought in mind, she still had a job to get to, even on the rare occasion of a handsome horse with a fitting rider.
Hat back in its rightful place, Jenny shoved her hands into her pockets only to be met with a small object inside. Turning on her heel and back up the stairs to the board walk, Jenny poked her head inside Ms. Potterβs store until she spotted her brother at the front. βHey Gene! Catch!β she called before tossing the small object into his hands. βCould you take care of that for me, I gotta get going or the ownerβs going to have my head. Donβt you go and lose that either, or you can forget supper tonight, you hear?!β
Threat in place and enough time already wasted on thoughts, Jenny crossed the road and headed another block north towards The Saloon to start her day.

His reminiscing was interrupted when Jenny popped back in and tossed him an object. Lucky for him his balance had become near impeccable when standing and he easily caught the object without fumbling with his cane. "Yea, yea I won't lose it! Get on to yer job ya fussy woman!" He turned the small wooden horse around in his hands, it had rope fiber hair and corks as wheels on the bottom so it could be pushed around. "Kinda cute." The kid would love this.
After getting through with his minor chores, Ms. Potter let him get some fresh air since the store wasn't busy and he took the opportunity to hobble about until he found Anne waiting in the street. He didn't want to interrupt as it seemed she was waiting for a moment to chat with Lily and an apparent newcomer but this would only take a small bit of her time. Slowly making his way over with a grin on his face, he made sure to take his hat off as he addressed her. "Howdy Ms. Anne. How ya been fairin today? I, uh, saw you talkin to some new fella here and just wanted to make sure everything was alright. Oh! and this is from Jenny, she been workin on it for awhile now and thought your lil guy might like it." He handed the little horse over to her then leaned against his cane to get comfortable while they chatted. "Whenever the lil sprout gets back in town just lemme know and I'll whip up some molasses candy fer him."

"And thanks for the extra apples' miss. Do ya like riding horses other than just feeding them?"

The girl smiled as she felt the heat rise to her cheeks once more.
βOh of coarse. I used to own a little filly myself once.β The girl smiled, tilting her head as she bagged up the groceries, leaving a few apples out of the bag. Handing it off to her rather handsome customer, she smiled and made her way out to Hurricane, gently running her fingers down his nose to let him see she was of no threat.
βHeβs beautifulβ¦β She sighed, giggling as she held an apple out to the steed. It didnβt take long for her to notice the rifle, and it only brought another smile to her face.

"It's nice to meet you, Art." She smiled. "Yeah, its quiet.... But we all get along just fine." She then pointed to the rifle.
"You know how to shoot?" She asked, tilting her head innocently before giving a delighted squeal as the horse licked her hand.
