The History of Pewter City

Dear Brian,
Pewter City has a creepy atmosphere around it. I'm not going to deny it. There are very few that are friendly around. Ever since I was transferred here on my assignment, I've been looked at like an outsider, unable to be trusted with any of the city's customs. They know I don't belong and they make sure I know that day by day. Maybe it's because I refuse to tell anyone why I am here.

I've looked into the history of the city, like you asked. It's legitimately shocking. It wasn't easy to find out information. No one talks to me, especially on the subject of the history. It's as if they don't want anyone in the world to know about it other than themselves. They're keeping a secret from me, I just know it.

For the past two months, I've been searching for as much as I can, but there was no one to turn to. The librarians have shunned me entirely. The city already makes me feel like I'm intruding. I've been a rat in a maze with no cheese to guide me.

But then, I caught a break. A professor from Pewter Community College managed to get into contact with me last week. He told me he'd help out, but only if I did as instructed. He wanted me to come by his place, at two in the morning. He claimed that it wasn't safe to talk about in public daytime. I heeded his warnings and came at the requested time.

The professor was a middle-aged man, about fifty years old. His hair was peppered, his eyes a steely blue underneath his spectacles. He was old fashioned. His house was a log cabin just outside the outskirts of Pewter City. He was wearing a tweed jacket with khakis and dress shoes.

He was a very useful man, telling me everything I need to know. "This place, as you may guess, is secluded from the rest of the world, even if it is a bustling city," the professor had begun. "It is highly secretive in it's history. Everyone who was born and raised here know about it and refuse to share. All of this, you may have already found out."

"The history behind this place is rather extraordinary. Back in the 1500s, the founder, Leonardo Pewter, stumbled upon this spot along with two others, the identities of which unknown. It was believed that this town sprung up overnight, although it was a very unideal place to build a town. The nearest water around was thirty miles away. The area was dry in animal life and most of the plants were inedible. The middle of the plains were always like this, like a green desert. But somehow, the little town thrived. Many wondered how."

"The answer they came up with was the founders had contacted the spirits of darkness. They had granted the city eternal life, but at a huge cost. The three would have to turn against each other someday, raging a war against the other two in which one would become the ruler of Pewter City. The spirits had also said that they would know when to begin when the five Malachai were reborn in Pewter City."

"Of course, the three founders got greedy and tried knocking each other out early on. They split up, forming three clans constantly battling each other, even to this day. Maybe you've seen them roaming around the city. Each has their own symbol representing what clan they belong to. They are rivals of the other two clans and there are murders always in the city. Death is common here."

"What are the Malachai?" I had asked.

"The Malachai are ancient beings said to have supernatural abilities. The spirits had said that one of each ability would come down on that day. Each Malachai could have one of five abilities: Necromancy, Scrying, Divination, Silkspeech, and Elemental. Necromancy is communication, reanimation, and control of the dead. Scrying and Divination kind of go hand in hand. Scrying, however, focused on fortelling the future while Divination focused on location of anyone or anything. Silkspeech is influence of the living, also known as mind control. Elemental is obviously control of the elements."

"So when do the five Malachai come?" I had asked.

"That's the thing," the professor responded. "Some think that the Malachai are here, among us now. That's why things are more tense. Things have been going on that are wierd. You might have heard about some of it if you read the newspaper." I had, of course, hadn't so he continued. "They know that when the five Malachai reveal themselves, they will try and control the five to do their bidding and help their side win the war."

I had left his house after that, but what shocked me came the next day. The professor was found murdered, by his bed. You might call it a coincidence. I think differently.

I have to leave. I have to call upon reinforcements. I have to rescue the five who are in trouble. I will catch the next bus out and I will head back to New Orleans. I will form a small army and come back one day. I just hope that you could help me out. I can't do this without you.
Sincerely, John Hopkins

Today, a peculiar story was on the cover of the newspaper.

It was a murder, which is common here. Someone in Pewter City is murdered every few hours. However, those murders are usually caused by one of the three clans trying to get after the other. This one seemed to not be caused by any of the clans. An outsider by the name of John Hopkins was found dead, clutching his throat in his hotel room. That wierd man was always searching around the city, appearing to be looking for something or someone. He was pretty much sentencing his own death at that point, but it appeared to have not been caused by the clans, who usually did that to the outsiders if they got in too deep. It appeared that he'd done it on his own. There was no outside force in this. How he'd actually managed to suffocate himself in that way makes no sense. It seems practically impossible, but wierder and more impossible things have happened in Pewter City.

I think my powers are safe from discovery. I was practicing in me secret spot in the woods and I think one of the Clan members saw me. I wasn't sure if he was or not. I think I saw a Celtic Knot somewhere on the figure, maybe in the form of a necklace, so I can only assume he or she was from Trinity. However, it was dark and I have only what the fire light I was conjuring to be based off from. It doesn't matter anyway. Who would bellieve him, anyway? And what could I do about it? I'm better off to just keep moving on with my life...

Eddy closed his journal right as the bell rang and Mrs. Freeman walked up to the front of the class. He groaned inwardly. He hated English. He'd also forgotten to do his paper.

"Okay, class," Mrs. Freeman called out. "Hand in your papers to my desk."

As everyone else got up, the scuffling of notebooks and feet combining together in one unmelodious noise as they did exactly what the teacher told them to do, Eddy felt awkward sitting there, the only one who did not get up. Gah, why did he have such a forgetful memory? And it always seemed to be in this class too. Mrs. Freeman never let go of a chance to belittle and mock him in front of everyone because of his careless mistakes. Today was no different.

"Eddy, did you forget to do your paper again?" Mrs. Freeman chirped in her mocking sing-song voice. Eddy didn't respond. A few kids started snickering. One threw a wadded piece of paper at him from behind, but Mrs. Freeman didn't care. Typical...

"I'm waiting..." Mrs. Freeman smiled wickedly at him.

Eddy sighed before responding. "Yes, I forgot."

Poor choice of words. Mrs. Freeman tsked as she walked up to Eddy's desk.

"Oh, Edward..." Mrs. Freeman smiled mockingly at him. "What are we going to do with you?"

Eddy sighed again, trying to control his temper. He hated it whenever anyone called him Edward and she knew it. Stay cool... he thought.

But Mrs. Freeman wouldn't give him reprieve. "You are in high school, not pre-school. When are you going to learn to hand in homework?" she continued. Could there be any more spite in those words.

"The moment you get a fashion sense, but we don't see that happening in the future," he said, putting on a fake, charming grin.

The class was laughing. Mrs. Freeman was fuming.

"Principal's office! NOW!" she screeched.

Eddy shrugged, picking up his things and walking out the door. He walked the Bataan Death March to the main office, then sat down in front of the door. One of the secretaries would come and get him in a moment. Another typical day...

Kabal De Muerte

To anyone passing by the local graveyard, the sound of a violin could be heard, faintly wafting through on the gentle wind. The melodious sound was both mournful and beautiful, although slow as if one were playing a dirge.

This is too slow, Kabal, play something more lively!

A lone boy sat on top of some steps leading into one of the mausoleums. He held a rather old but well-kept violin in his arms, temporarily setting it down and stopping his playing. "What would you like me to play, Liz?" Kabal softly spoke into the empty air, "Do you want me to play the circus song?"

A pale, translucent girl stood across from him with her hands on her hips in a 'no duh' gesture. Had she been visible to anyone other than Kabal, her red hair might have shined in the light. She looked no older than he was. Yes! Her voice could only be heard by Kabal as well, something he'd learned the hard way. Being able to see and speak to the dead wasn't exactly something Kabal liked. He'd come to live with it though, whatever strange existence it gave him.

Without another word, he picked up the violin and began playing the requested song. He loved to play the violin because it was the only thing that gave him any respite from the constant talking and appearance of those who have died; when he was playing, he could ignore them for a short while. While he played, he let his mind wander.

Recently, he'd been hearing more and more rumors about 'the graveyard ghost-boy'. According to these rumors, there was a boy who lived in the graveyard- a boy who had gone insane and thought he was a ghost. Kabal knew they were speaking about him, and it actually worried him a bit. What if someone came and tried to take him away? He wasn't insane...they were real. The dead people in the graveyard were real, even if he were the only person to know it.

For the past six years, he'd lived in the graveyard. He liked it there, it was a lot quieter than one would think. Most of the dead there had already moved on, and those who hadn't passed on yet usually didn't bother Kabal. Well, except for Liz, anyway. However, that was because he'd known her since they were little- since before she died. For a moment he wondered if he was the reason she was still here. She was his only friend, so he hated to leave her alone. He never even went to school, simply because he was afraid to go.

Nowadays, he spends his time with Liz and playing the violin. For a moment, he wondered if things would always be that way, or if anything would ever change. Finally, the song ended, prompting him to put down the violin once again.

I love that song, thank you! So, Kabal, what are you going to do now? Actually, I think old man Geoffrey was asking for you....

"Oh no, not again. I thought he passed on already. I don't really have to listen to his war stories again, do I? They're always so sad...."

I guess not, if you don't really want to. I think he mentioned that he heard some clan members over by the south wall the other day though, so I'm a bit worried. What if they cause trouble for you again?

"I don't know Liz, old man Geoffrey likes to make up stuff. Besides, I'm pretty good at hiding so if they come around again I'll just tuck myself away somewhere like last time."

Kabal, you should really be careful. Most everyone in this town belongs to a clan, but those kids were really looking for trouble! What if they hurt you?

"Don't worry, it'll be fine. I think it's just the rumors that are going around. It'll blow over soon-"

"FOUND HIM!" A voice not too far away could be heard, both triumphant and ignorant at the same time. "It's the ghost-boy, let's get him!"

Jason Krane

Jason looked up at the teacher from his seat in the back of the room. He didn’t enjoy math class, but he couldn’t deny that he had a very likeable teacher, Mr. Bruner. Jason had his book set up on his desk so that the teacher couldn’t see his cd player as he ignored today’s lesson and began playing music. The teacher wouldn’t mind it too much as long as the homework was done for the next day and he wasn’t a disruption to the rest of the class, which was fine by him. Mr. Bruner had just explained a rather complex math problem to the rest of the class when the bell rang and it was time for lunch. As everyone filed out of the room, Mr. Bruner called out, β€œ Jason, I hope you were listening to the lesson today, there will be a quiz tomorrow on what we covered today in class.” Jason just looked back at the overenthusiastic math teacher and waved his hand, showing that he would be ready. He thought about heading to the cafeteria for lunch before he headed home for the day, but he ended up deciding against the idea. He was a senior, which meant he was done with all his classes by the time the lunch bell rang. He stopped to put his math book in his locker before he went to the main entrance and began his walk home.

Jason had pretty much made it all the way home when he heard some people shouting on the other side of the cemetery wall. He vaguely heard one of them say something about a ghost boy, then he heard someone yell β€œ Lets get him” He didn’t know what was going on, but one of the voices sounded familiar, and he was fairly certain he knew who it was. He quickly hopped the wall and saw just what was going on. Three guys from Deveraux were looking for trouble in the cemetery, and they knew not to come into this part of town. The cemetery was in Pewter’s terf, and Jason was going to make sure the three troublemakers knew that. As he was about to jump on the first of the three guys, he saw another teen hiding behind the wall of a Mausoleum, trying to stay out of the intruders view. The guy was a little scrawny looking, with black hair and a scared expression on his face. He wore no markings on any of his clothing to identify himself as a clan member, and he definitely wasn’t a friend of Deveraux. Jason didn’t see him as a threat at the moment, so he just ignored him and went after the three men from Deveraux. The first of the three were down before he even knew what hit him. Jason quickly kicked his feet from under him and sent him crashing down hard on the dirt floor. The second turned just in time to see the kick to the face he was about to receive before the blow landed. The third had enough time to turn around and run at Jason as he was dealing with the second, even though it didn’t do him any good. As the man from Deveraux charged at Jason, he quickly found out he was no match for the well-trained warrior. He was quickly planted face first into the ground as he felt a sharp pain in his wrist. Jason had the guy in a wrist lock, which meant if he moved at all it would send a torrent of pain down the kids hand until he begged for it to stop. All Jason said to the Deveraux intruder before he released him was a word of warning. β€œ If any of you come on our turf again, The pain you feel now will be the least of your problems. β€œ

He let the now terrified teen’s wrist go, and stepped back to see if there was anything left that needed his attention. The two people he had ambushed were out for the count, and the third was in the process of grabbing his jacket and running away as fast as he was capable. He looked around to see if there was anyone else that wanted to test their strength. Seeing no future enemies, Jason remembered the kid that was hiding behind the wall and walked back over to the Mausoleum where he was standing. The black haired teen wasn’t there anymore, which meant he either escaped during the fight or he was hiding. Jason wanted to make sure he was alright before he left, but if the guy had already cut out, he wouldn’t have any chance of that happening. He decided to give it a minute and maybe the stranger would come out, so he waited by the wall where he entered the cemetery.

Willa Louise Strom was less then impressed as she sat in the Principal's office explaining why she hadn't arrived until the end of her first lesson and like normal she was making up some dramatic false excuse.
"Oh, I am sorry sir, My sister's friend's frog died yesterday and we were at the funeral- and yes! It was tragic." She lied amused.
"Miss Strom, Are you lying to me?" The teacher asked. Willa shook her head in an exagerated motion.
"Why on Earth would I lie to you sir?" Willa asked with an innocent tilt to her heart-shaped face.
"Well Miss Strom, How come your sister has already been in my office today?" He asked.
"Because...she has a twin! Willa burst barely holding her laughter. I hope no one else wanted to talk to the principal this could take a while... She thought smiling.
"Ok Miss Strom! I have had enough of you talking abosolute bull to me. You do not have any other siblings other then your younger sister, lying is not appropiate in anway or form and will not be tolerated. IF your caught again you can be guarnteed a detention with me..." Willa narrowed her eyes and stared at him hard for a few seconds.
"Ok...I'll let your enough but it has to stop Miss Strom.." He gave into my powers and now she felt like absolute dung. Why do I do it? Willa asked herself silently a saddened frown controlling her lips. She was dismissed and she walked out the room. She saw a boy waiting to see the Principal and she felt sorry for him because the Principal would be absolute furious when he realized what he'd done considering Willa made a common habit of being late for school now.

Willa glided out the hallway and rooms and sulkily made her way to her second lesson...Art.

Eddy Kruvik

As Eddy waited, he started contemplating plans on this afternoon. He should start getting into a habit of doing this after the encounter yesterday. He didn't want any intruders watching him control the elements again.

Maybe around 4... he thought. It was right in the middle of school extracirricular activities and the ganga would also be meeting up at that time. No one will really be in the alleyways until five, so he'd have peace.

His thought process was interrupted by the previous one to talk to the principal. She was frowning as she looked at Eddy. They locked eyes for only a second. It was in that moment that a wierd sensation ran through his body. He'd had this sensation before. It was like Deja Vu, only he knew he'd never seen this girl before. His gaze turned away first, checking his watch. She moved on. He had to shake that feeling off. Luckily, the clerk had helped. "The principal would like to see you now," she called out to him. He sighed, then entered the door to the main office, then the door to the principal's office.

As he entered, the principal seemed to be muttering to himself, angrily. Eddy cocked his head slightly, obviously confused. He turned around and started rubbing his chin, a sign that he was thinking. He was puzzled, as if he had no idea what had just gone on. He spun his chair around, noticing Eddy in the room for the first time. Nothing moved. His beady black eyes told him that he was going to take his newly found rage on him.

"Sit!" he commanded. It was like being treated like a dog with these one worded commands. Eddy sat down, slumping his bag to the side. His expression showed no emotion. If even a crease formed on his forehead in this mood, it would only make it worse.

"Oh, Edward Markham Kruvik...you've been here one too many times," he grunted, looking at his file. They both knew it contained every single thing he'd done bad. He was the criminal, despite not being in a gang himself. If he was caught, he would be punished and held up as an example. Worse, if he was innocent, he was still punished and held up as an example.

"Back-talking a teacher and her apparel...not turning in homework...not the worst you've done, but I'm tired of seeing you in my office," he snarled, as if he was the lowest form of spittle. Eddy took it wthout pain. He didn't care what the principal thought of him. No one cared what the principal thought of his students.

"Suspension! Three days! When you come back, I don't want to see you in my office anymore," He scribbled out a form as he spoke, then handed it to him. "Got it?"

"Sure thing," Dick head. He'd almost let that word out. Suspension? for backtalking a teacher. Half the school carried guns on them at all times and all they got was a damn warning. But he kept his emotions inside as he got up, taking the form and walking out of the school.

He took the slow walk home, noticing the alleyways filled with teens. A lot of kids skipped school and since the gangs all but owned the town...

He decided to start practicing a bit before he went home to show his mom. She already knew what her reaction would be. She'd made it clear the moment he turned 13. "I don't care what you do, just so long as you don't get a girl pregnant. I don't want to deal with that."

Love you too, mom...

He passed the graveyard, where commotion was going on with the gangs. He didn't want to be involved. He passed on by and went a couple of blocks down, passing through the empty alleyway and following a gravel path that led to a small clearing in the forest.

The place was a mess. There were rocks jetting out everywhere and black scorch marks all over the place: on the trees, in the ground...Eddy didn't care. He started breathing slowly, almost therapeudically, before throwing his first punch and practicing with the elements.

Kitsune sat at his desk in his personal dojo. He already hung up forms about joining the Deveraux, but no one came yet. He perked up his head and read the newspaper. "Really... A murder.." he thought. He grew frustrated hearing about violence. He grabbed a katana hanging off the wall. Then he slid his finger across it. "Still sharp.." he mummbled. Kitsune walked outside. He needed to help stop all this crime. Kitsune leaped on a building and dashed building to building, searching for any odd sights.

Indigo Moralin

Indigo stumbled lazily out of the school doors. Yet another day of being dismissed from school for having another one of her headaches. "Ugg life really sucks sometimes." She muttered talking to no one in general.
Kicking a rock ahead of her she walked towards what she called home. 'There's going to be yet another round of medicine.' She lifelessly thought to herself, but then a white cat distracted her thoughts. It meowed helplessly when it looked to be twenty pounds. Though she couldn't help giving it the remains of her sandwich. The puffy white fuzz ball purred madly as she petted it.
"Bye, bye kitty." She said finally as she got up and co0ntinued to walk. Adjusting her boyish hat one of her long strands fell from it's hold. Grumbling unhappily she quickly fixed it. Indigo slowly scanned the area around her to see if anyone noticed. But the street was empty to her naked eye.
Finally she came into view of her home, and jogged the rest of the way home. Their she was greeted by her 'parent' Mrs. Harley. From there she went straight to her room for a nap.

Kabal De Muerte

Kabal had hidden as quickly as could, diving behind the closest wall of the mausoleum. He kneeled on the ground and tried to make himself as small as possible so that maybe they wouldn't see him.

Kabal, look! Someone's fighting them off!

At Liz's urging, Kabal peeked over the side of the wall to see what was going on. Before his very eyes, the three goons from the Deveraux clan were getting beat up by someone he didn't recognize. As the last one picked himself up and ran off, Kabal suddenly realized that once he was done with them the unknown person would turn his attention onto him. That is, if he'd seen him, which Kabal guessed he did since he hadn't had enough time to hide properly. For a moment, he wondered what to do. He decided he should probably run, since he had no idea whether or not the boy was also there to give him trouble. Maybe he wanted the others out of the way, so he could cause trouble himself? Kabal couldn't be sure.

Without any further ado, before the unknown person could walk over he made his way out of sight. However, he didn't get far before he realized he forgot his violin. Oh no, the violin! I can't leave it... He thought to himself, turning back.

He made it just in time to hear the words, β€œIf any of you come on our turf again, The pain you feel now will be the least of your problems.β€œ

He must be a clan member too....but for a different one. What should I do? He thought to himself once more, before turning to Liz. "He's a clan member. I don't know which one, but I think it might be a good idea not to come in contact with him." He whispered, moving ever-closer to the wall where the violin lay.

But, Kabal...he helped you. He fought those troublemakers off. You should at least thank him....

"I-I don't know Liz. He could be-" Just then, he heard footsteps. The stranger was coming to where he was. Quickly, he once again hid himself. As the stranger stepped into view, he watched him silently.

He doesn't seem all that bad...

Kabal sighed. "Fine, Liz." He muttered. He stepped into view, although he kept his distance as much as possible.

"T-Thanks." He called out to the person softly, unsure of whether or not his low voice was heard. "Liz says thanks too..." Still holding the violin, he looked around, wondering if he should run or not.

Jason saw movement out of the corner of his eye and quickly turned to see what it was. His first thought was maybe the guy back with reinforcements, instead it was the kid that hid behind the wall. He said something Jason couldn't quite hear, but he decided to respond anyway.

β€œ Hey kid, are you alright?”

He looked at the kid for a solid three seconds before he decided he seemed unhurt.

β€œ My name is Jason and I’m a member of Pewter.” he said proudly as he rolled his right shoulder.

β€œWhat did those guys want with you?”

As she sat on her stool in Art splattering deep purple paint onto a canvas her wrist of braclets jingling and clattering away on her wrist, she found herself thinking about the boy she'd seen coming out the office. She could of sworn she had seen him somewhere or knew him but she couldn't put a name to his face and it annoyed her. She wasn't sure how but she knew him! Or did he look someone she knew? Willa considered this her strokes on the canvas becoming more fine and slim as she changed her paint choice to gold to outline parts of the skirt on her painting.

Willa was drawing and painting an Eastern dancer dressed in a purple skirt and cropped purple silk wrap with a peice of material floating between her hands which very much like Willa's own wrists were littered with jewels. You could only see the woman stomach down but her left wrist hung stretched out in the bottom corner her finger tips vanishing off the edge of the canvas and you couldn't see the other arm at all but the stretched purple fabric floating off into the corner left evidence that the other arm was stretched out like the first. The skirt was floating and twirling giving the impression that the woman was spinning or twirling as she danced.

After nearly ten maybe fifteen minutes Willa moved on to give the painting an even darker purple for a background which was dark enough to be seperated from the dancer's clothes. Willa sighed as boredom took it's toll on her tired battered mind.

Eddy Kruvik

Panting, Eddy sat down on a tree trunk. He was exhausted. And he was only twenty minutes in! He'd never been so tired so quickly before. He knew why as well. He was drained because he was tense. He kept looking over his shoulder, expecting to see someone staring at him, watching him fling fire and earth in the air or crack a tree in half with a water whip. He couldn't focus, so he'd been forcing himself to do so, thereby draining not only his physical, but emotional strength as well...

He slowly got up, peering into the alley for the millionth time. And yet, he still didn't see anyone, but somehow, he did. It was like a 6th sense that wasn't useful. in any shape or form...

Sighing, he slowly walked down the alleyway again and looked into the street. He didn't see anyone. He shrugged to no one in particular and started walking when three Deveraux clan members ran right past him, one bumping into his shoulder as he passed by. He let the cheap shot pass, for it was only a cheap shot anyway. He thought he'd seen them at the graveyard, where the scrabble was going on. He decided to check and make sure there weren't two dead men over in the vicinity.

He peered around the corner, fearful of being spotted. He wanted to check it out, but he didn't want to be seen checking it out. He would become a suspect for sure and with his luck...better not to chance it.

But it looked like there was no murder. Someone from what appeared to be the Pewter clan was there along with what the rest of the town called the wierd kid. He didn't judge him. He ranked himself a freak all the time.

What was his name? Kibble de Mara...Karter de Mundo? He'd never gotten it before and didn't expect to get it now. But something came over his body functions as he approached. It was the same situation he'd had with the girl before. What the crap? He could only stare in confusion at what was wrong with his mind as the two began to talk...

Jason Krane

Jason, ... sensed something else. He quickly looked around to see who the new intruder to his turf was. He instinctively reached for a sword that wasn't there.

Damn, why do I have to keep my sword home from school. People carry guns and weapons all the time but something like a sword is against the rules. It's so unfair! he thought to himself as he felt foolish for not remembering.

He finally eyed the intruder and turned to see who it was. It wasn't someone Jason had previously met, he would remember someone so ... colorful. The guy looked about 18 but that was just a guess. He had brown hair and blue eyes, with just about every other color broken down into every fold of his wardrobe.

Jason quickly looked the new intruder over. Seeing nothing to signify he was in a clan, he decided to ease a little and drop a bit of his guard. He looked at the kid from before and back at the new guy. " So .... , Friend of yours?" he asked the kid while still looking up at the rainbow clad figure.

" Can I help you with something? My name is Jason and I'm a member of Pewter. You don't seem to be my enemy. " he said with a smile.

At lunch Willa snuck out like she usually did but she didnt't return at the end of her break. She toured town her blonde hair wind swept, flying in her face whipping against her cheeks. Then wind settled for a few minutes before the next wave came. Willa smiled amused and drowned by her thick long cargo coat which came lower then her skirt- her skirt wa a normal length the coat was just fashionably long and droppcentimeters below her mid-thigh.

You couldn't see her hands they were in her pockets and she trugged around town her black boots kicking up dirt and one of her ear phones dangling abandonded so she could hear the world. Willa walked through alleys, streets and lanes for quiet a while before she spent twenty minutes listening to music perched on a swing in the local park.

When that got boring Willa wasn't sure what else she could do, so she went back to surfing the streets looking for a fiend or just something to do in general.

((OOC: Sorry, personal stuff happened. I'm back now! :) I will make my other character sometime this weekend.))

Eddy Kruvik

Uh-oh...

That was the first word that came into mind as the Pewter reached behind him for something. It didn't matter that the Pewter forgot to bring his weapon with him, but he knew that it meant he wasn't planning on being any ally towards him. Eddy got into a ready stance, even if it required him to use his unique ability against him. It was his last resort, but if this guy was going for blood, it was worth chancing his discovery and put under a magnifying glass in a lab somewhere in Area 51.

But the Pewter's guard slipped a little as he realized that Eddy wasn't a part of the other clans. He turned to the other kid. "So...friend of yours?" he'd asked before turning his full attention to Eddy.

"Can I help you with something? My name is Jason and I'm a member of Pewter. You don't seem to be my enemy."

"That's because I don't go seeking trouble for the thrill," Eddy replied cooly. He still didn't trust any of the clan members. "And, I'm Eddy. No, me and that kid have never met before. I wanted to satisfy my curiosity as to why three members of Deveraux were sent running in fear when they were clearly here to attack." he finished finely, making it clear by the tone of his voice that he didn't want trouble...

Kabal De Muerte

β€œHey kid, are you alright?”

Kabal stayed silent as the boy gave him what looked to be a once-over. He was very careful to keep his distance. This guy had just beat up three of the Deveraux clan in what looked to be mere seconds; Kabal knew he didn't stand a chance in a fight.

β€œMy name is Jason and I’m a member of Pewter. What did those guys want with you?”

"I-I don't know..." Kabal responded quietly. So his name is Jason.... He thought to himself. He went to say something else, when another person arrived. Upon seeing them, Kabal could feel a tingling sensation.

What is it, Kabal? Liz stared at him quizzically as she floated next to him.

"There's something about that kid, Liz. I don't know what it is, but he's different." Kabal whispered to her as he watched the conversation between the two go on. In answering her, Kabal never even realized that he had been asked a question.

"Can I help you with something? My name is Jason and I'm a member of Pewter. You don't seem to be my enemy."

"That's because I don't go seeking trouble for the thrill. And, I'm Eddy. No, me and that kid have never met before. I wanted to satisfy my curiosity as to why three members of Deveraux were sent running in fear when they were clearly here to attack."

It looks like neither of them have heard the rumors of the strange ghost-boy~ Liz teased. And it looks like they're both clan members of some sort. You can still get out of here if you wanted to, you know.

"I don't know what to do..." Kabal gripped the violin he held in his hands a little tighter. Eddy and Jason didn't seem like a threat, at least not for now. Besides, he had no idea where to go....the cemetery was his home, he couldn't imagine leaving it. It made him uncomfortable to think that he wasn't safe there any longer. Still... He thought, Those three from Devereaux might come again, regardless....what should I do?

"I, uhm..." Kabal cleared his throat as he tried to speak up, "I think they were here to cause trouble...for me. And Liz. Liz is my friend. Uhm...here." He gestured to the space next to him, where Liz was. Of course, since she was dead they wouldn't be able to see her. "She says hi, by the way." He shuffled a bit, nervous. "Those guys have been coming here more and more often. They like to turn over the gravestones and write on the mausoleum walls....I don't like it, and neither does anyone else here."

Jason was about to provide an answer to Eddy's curiosity about the Deveraux boys when Kabal began to speak.

"I think they were here to cause trouble...for me. And Liz. Liz is my friend. Uhm...here."

he then pointed to the empty space beside him. He then continued.

" She says hi, by the way."

Jason didn't know what to say with this odd situation, so he just went along with it. He just quietly assumed that the guy had an imaginary friend.

β€œ Hi Liz! It’s nice to meet the both of you. He said with a smile to the spot he had pointed out.”

"Those guys have been coming here more and more often. They like to turn over the gravestones and write on the mausoleum walls....I don't like it, and neither does anyone else here.", he continued.

Jason caught the last remark, and again assumed he was talking about the up keepers or the guests of the cemetery. He also noticed his grip tighten on his violin, which he hadn’t seen beforehand.

" Well, if they come back and I see it happening I’ll make sure they can’t cause you trouble again. β€œ he said as he cracked his knuckles. He would have to break school rules and bring his sword from now on, which he hoped he could hide in his locker before anyone saw. It would make him feel more alive anyway, and prevent him from being an open target. He didn’t see much reason to stick around now that the boy was alright and there was nothing else threatening Pewter’s territory.

β€œ Well, I’ve been fooling around long enough for today. β€œ

The sun was hardly even peaking over the horizon. He knew his parents wouldn’t be home, His mother was away on business and his dad was on a hiking trip in the mountains, but he wanted to get home anyway.

First he turned to Eddy.

β€œ It was nice meeting you, and I hope I didn’t offend you at all.” he said with a nod. β€œ I didn’t know if you were more of those β€˜Dev’ guys looking for a fight. β€œ

He turned to the shy kid that didn’t introduce himself yet.

β€œ Before I go, can I get your name? β€œ

"I think they were here to cause trouble...for me. And Liz. Liz is my friend. Uhm...here." the graveyard kid had said, clearing his throat. Eddy turned to find nothing where he pointed. An alert signal went through his body, as if there was truth put behind those words. Eddy began to think about it. Could it really be possible? It might. They were in a graveyard after all. But rumors pointed towards that the kid was a tiny bit mental in the head and had an imaginary friend. Lies always spread faster than the truth and the truth never caught up to a lie. It was a litany that went with his perspective on life. Could this kid talk to the dead.

It sounded absurd, but there was a tiny part of him that said it was true. He was still debating with it when they continued to speak. "She says hi, by the way. Those guys have been coming here more and more often. They like to turn over the gravestones and write on the mausoleum walls....I don't like it, and neither does anyone else here." the kid went on.

"Well, if they come back and I see it happening I’ll make sure they can’t cause you trouble again. Well, I've been fooling around long enough for today." Jason turned to Eddy as he began to speak directly to him.

β€œIt was nice meeting you, and I hope I didn’t offend you at all.” he said with a nod. β€œI didn’t know if you were more of those β€˜Dev’ guys looking for a fight."

"Hey, it's no problem." Eddy said, cracking a grin. Jason turned back to the other kid. "Before I go, can I get your name?.

Interesting question... Eddy thought as he decided he was going to stay after he left to talk to the kid. Maybe there was more than what was let on...and the other girl. Maybe he should talk to her later. Something was going on with these random flashes of nostalgia and he was going to get to the bottom of it.

Zavid Fawnton

"We have the identity of the five Malachai, sir."

Zavid Fawnton immediately stopped what he was doing, and looked up. The messenger had gotten his attention, a rarity for the young teen. He preferred to multi-task anyway and none of the news that usually came up was any trouble at all. It was something he could deal with later or send others to deal with at the moment.

However, this piece of information was different. It meant everything changed. The destiny he wanted to achieve was now right on his doorstep. And it was all thanks to the revelation of the identities of five unfortunate kids. They would help him achieve what he was meant to.

"...continue." he finally said, still maintaining his composure on the outside, showing no emotion at all.

"Well, as you know, we've know three of them from quite some time now. Kabal de Muerte, the kid from the graveyard, was the first to be discovered. You've known that for years. And then there's Willa Strom. We've witnessed her constantly using her power on the principal, the most recent being today. Indigo Moralin's scrying power isn't hard to miss, either. Rory Lewis was discovered very recently. And finally, yesterday, one of our members spotted the elemental one using his powers in a clearing not far from here. His name is Eddy Kruvik, sir." the messenger was practically out of breath when he finished. The last two sentences were all Zavid needed to hear. He knew the rest.

"Very well. You've done well." he said, almost robotically.

It was the highest praise anyone could get from the man and the messenger knew it. "Th-thank you, sir," he responded.

"And you're sure that none of the other clan know this?"

"Not at all, sir,"

"Good. Send in Jason Krane for me."

"Um...sir?"

"Yes?" Zavid looked up once more, the challenge present in his voice even though it sounded the same. The messenger knew this and instantly corrected himself.

"Sorry, sir."

"Better. Now go and get Jason for me." The messenger went to do as he was told. "I've got a little bit of recruiting to do..."

Indigo Moralin

Indigo felt cold droplets before the whole bucket of water splashed over her. Of course...It was Mr. Harley. "Girl I've been working out in the yard the whole day, and you've just been here sleeping!" he said with a fumed look. "Make use of yourself and go to the store to us some dinner!" Mr. Harley said while walking away with his dripping bucket. "Sorry." Was all Indigo could mutter in a sleepy state.

Flipping damp heavy blanket off of her, she walked to her dresser leaving a trail of droplets. It took only thirty seconds to fish out a boys outfit that fit the season. But it took five mintutes to dry her long blue hair then put it back up in a hat. Stuffing some extra change into her pocket she walked out the door.

A soothing breeze urged her as she walked through vacant street giving it the look of a gost town. Feeling a little creeped out Indigo started to hum a timid tune. 'You're so stupid this is a perfectly safe city.' She thought to herself. Turning th corner in the distance she could see the park, but it looked even scarier then the streets. Feeling chills down her back she looked for another route to the store, but there was none. Sighing heavily she continued.

After walking past a few stores she came in sight of a girl wear ear buds that seemed VERY familiar.

Willa Louise Strom
Willa listened to the music thoughtfully her eyes crystal clear as she looked at a dress in a shop. It'd be perfect for next time she had some event pop up and the purple fabric made her smile, there it was again that awesome colour known to all man as Purple She smiled and turned to carry on walking. She was watching her little black boots displace the small flecks of pavement that had grown away with age and this was part of the reason she walked into the familiar looking stranger.

Willa looked up at the girl wide-eyed seeming very surprised and suddenly awake. She was about to apologuise when she looked at the girl's face. Did...did she know her? The girl looked freakishly familiar but Willa couldn't bring up a name. She took a neat step back as she thought then regathering the ear buds that had been tugged from her ears during the brief collision she looked up at the girl for a second time.

"Sorry about that...and don't mind me asking but..urm...Do I know you?" She asked akwardly her blonde brown hair rippling in the soft moaning wind. Willa swore she knew this girl and it was the same Deja Vu she had around the guy this morning coming out the office. Am I hormonal? Willa wondered to herself almost blushing at the thought. She mentally shook her head because she'd been fine otherwise maybe she was just tired or something...or maybe these kids she just knew from around school but didn't know properly...but then again if that was the cause why did it her so hard? Like a slap in the face. She chewed the inside of her cheek a little but not very obviously and waited for the girls reply silently calling herself an idiot.

Then it her. Could they be...special too?

There was more chance of her becoming a billionaire rock star who married Michael Jackson- who's dead so that was impossible anyway...Oh god...I'm crazy! She mentally shouted. She looked at the floor hiding her obvious embarassment wondering why she had to act like such a fool.

Kabal De Muerte

" Well, if they come back and I see it happening I’ll make sure they can’t cause you trouble again. β€œ

"T-Thanks...." Kabal mumbled, shuffling his feet nervously. He was terrible with conversation, so for the rest he was simply quiet.

β€œ Before I go, can I get your name? β€œ

For the first time since their meeting, Kabal lifted his head and looked Jason straight in the eyes. He held his gaze for a moment, his silver eyes staring as he considered whether or not to give him his name.

Kabal, just tell him already, sheesh! Liz poked at him, He just drove those guys off, he can't be all bad. Besides, he hasn't tried anything.

Kabal ignored her as he answered clearly, ".....Kabal. My name is Kabal. Thanks again." He frowned as Liz started making faces at him for no apparent reason. "Liz says thanks again too." He sighed as an after-thought, even though she said no such thing.

Assuming that Jason was going to leave, Kabal turned to Eddy. "You...I don't know why, but something feels different about you." He said openly, although he mumbled. Shuffling nervously once again, he added in almost a whisper, "Are you...like me? Can you see them?"

Jason Krane

".....Kabal. My name is Kabal. Thanks again."

Jason was happy he now knew the names of the two men that stood before him. He couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment, seeing as Kabal was extremely shy and Eddy didn't seem the type to quickly trust strangers.

" It was nice meeting both of you," he said as he turned around to leave. Just as he was about to head out, the phone in his pocket began to vibrate. He pulled it out and looked at the number. It was one of the messengers from Pewter, which meant the boss wanted him for something important. He answered the phone to a less-then confident voice on the other line. " Umm .... Mr Krane? The boss requires your presence immediately. "

" I'll be there, " Jason said for a quick response and hung up the phone. He turned around and sprinted to the safe house. He didn't know what his mission would entail, but it wasn't often he was called in. Mostly the boss would only call him in for the big fights, or if whole sections of their territory was under attack. He never called for Jason if the problem was something the other lackey's could do themselves. He was genuinely excited to be given another mission. He enjoyed helping his clan in any way that he could, and he loved a good fight.

For the entire run to the safe house, all Jason thought about was what kind of mission he would be sent on. Before he knew it he was turning on the street where the safe house rested. He ran through the shrubbery and hopped the fence to get in the back way to the base. He didn't even have to tell the guard to let him in, instead he immediately opened the heavy iron door and moved out of the way. Jason didn't wait to announce his presence to anyone else, he just went straight for the boss's room. He entered the lightly lit room to find Zavid sitting in his chair with his back to the door Jason entered. Jason put both hands behind his back and stood up straight. " Jason Krane reporting for duty sir. " he said in a militaristic tone as he waited for Zavid to respond.

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

I'm going to post soon! >.< I know I'm slow but don't worry, I'm still here!

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

I was/am waiting for X64 to post, or should I just go on with the story?

X64

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

I shall be posting tonight, hopefully.

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

I'll post sometime today or tomorrow. I've been really bust lately.

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

May I reserve the leader of the Deveraux :3

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

Okay, ladies and gentlemen, we have our five Malachai accepted. It's time to start roleplaying. I still need spots to fill for Deveraux, Pewter, and Trinity clans, so either fill in those spots yourselves if you so desire or invite other people to join. Nevertheless, the Malachai will start posting today and the Clan leaders and members can start any time they want (sometime in the week would be nice.)

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

Hm... that could be really interesting. Rory would be really conflicted, I'm sure. Could be a nice sub-plot.

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

I'm sorry it's taking so long but it'll be up tonight.

X64

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

Hey, fueledbymadness....I just happened to notice that Rory has a little brother who died. I happen to have a necromancer. You thinkin what I'm thinkin? *wiggles eyebrows*

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

Alright, I edited her "ability" section - check it out.

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

I didn't mention Rory's abilities in the sheet because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with them yet. I thought about it, though, and have come up with an idea on how they'll work. However, I'd like to keep her ignorant of her "powers" until the roleplay begins. I think it'll be interesting to see how she reacts, being such a logical and knowledge based person.

X64

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

I also don't mind making more than one character, in the event that we don't have enough people. Please let me know if you'd like me to.

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

Sorry, epicnukeguy, someone else already got it first. I hope you're still interested and you can pick something else.

Leej10100: Yes, you have both of those spots reserved.

Everyone: Just another thing. We will begin roleplay once the 5 Malachai have been created. I also want the Leaders of the Clans to be decided sooner rather than later, so I don't mind doubling up.

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

This looks really fun ^^ Can I be the Leader of Trinity and the Vintor of Trinity too? If I'm not allowed to have both I'll just take Leader of trinity.

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

This looks like a really good rp so I was wondering if I could reserve The Scryer? Thanks.

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

Can i please reserve the malachai divinator? thanks

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

You most definately can reserve the necromancer Malachai.

X64

Re: The Malachai: Reborn

May I please reserve the Necromancer Malachai? :D

Everyone: To keep people from getting confused, a Vintor is a second-in-command to the leader. And the Malachai are aquaintances. They aren't really friends, but they somehow kind of know each other. They get a deja vu feeling whenever Malachai cross paths. And it's up to you if your character would already know their power or not.
