Arcus' Return

Gambit's BarSetting: Gambit's Bar

Arcus Sol saunters through the front door of the bar, chattering heartily with the female companions hanging off each of his arms. He escorts them over to the bar, where he seats the two of them before leaning against the wooden surface and waves his hand for a bartender.
Cryoface nodded to Arcus. He had no idea who the guy was, but he seemed congenial enough. The arm decorations were proof of that. "What'll it be? Guaranteed ice-cold."
Arcus Sol acknowledges the unique bartender of this establishment with a response.
A long island iced tea for Tatiania,
wherein he gestures to the right,
...and a double whiskey sour for the two of us!
he continued after placing his arm around the beatiful blond woman to his left.
Sire Mollem McGregor had been annoyed when Lunatea interrupted his talking with Red, and so he paused for a long moment before he turned to one of his bodyguards. "The android offends me, now kill her." He ordered simply, and the lone Aschen soldier cantered his head.

"Kill her, Divine Shadow?" He said, grasping his disruptor.

"Yes... kill her." He said simply, and the man raised his disruptor pistol towards the Android, and fired a single shot. There was a deafening pop and a brilliant blue flash of light. The Android was thrown back, and a sizeable portion of her chest was missing and smoking.

"Good..." The Soldier smiled in accomplishment.

"Now kill yourself." He ordered. And the soldier looked at him incredulously. "Kill myself?" He said, and Mollem nodded. "Yes." The Man slowly brought the pistol to his head.

"Shoot yourself!" He ordered. "Shoot!"

The man was crying, staring at Mollem. "I worship... his divine Shadow." Before he ended his own life. Mollem smiled.

"Yes, let's get out of here. Name the place, and I shall make it so."
Shadow Child was not certain why it was here, or what here was. It simply found himself, rather suddenly, sitting on bar stool, mind once again blank of almost all knowledge. The shadow child remained on the stool, feet kicking and mind uncertain. What was this place? Where was it? Who and what was it? It could only recall hate for its being, disdain. It had been sick, so sick. Why had it been hated?

It had been bad, the shadow child recalled. Very bad. Perhaps someone here might recognize it. Maybe.
Arcus Sol carries on with the lady friends on either of his arms, as they laugh heartily at his conversation. He carefully eyes over towards the the right as a pistol went off, noticeably becoming uneasy as the sound bounced through the crowded room, almost par for the course.
Arcus Sol leans over to the one he called Tatiana and plants a kiss on her cheek before speaking.
I'll be back promptly, I swear it. Alright, sweetheart?
he coaxed, tilting his head. The long blond hair fell inquisively across his shoulder, almost pointing at the very ground upon which he stood.
Arcus Sol nods in response to her acknowledgement, and then takes a step back from the bar. The two women laugh and draw closer to one another, giggling between themselves. Arcus simply drops his head, and stares at the floor before taking a deep breath.
Renegade ignored the gun shot and continued to stare at the door Thor walked through wondering what had just gone down between him and Geist.
Arcus Sol sweeps his right hand across his front side and reaches for his waist as he slides his left foot back and dips into a crouching motion. His left hand swung out to his side as he lowered his body, pausing--only momentarily--before vanishing into thin air.
There was an simultaneous sigh that bellowed out from the group of Invictus soldiers. "Told you." Preston said, he and the soldiers standing up slowly to find the source of the weapon discharge.

Preston immediately recognized Mollem, raising an eyebrow. "I know him. He's an Aschen." Preston told the others, "So that means we just Rodney King him?" Taco asked jokingly.

"If he's anything like the others he's going to try to blow up the bar as soon as Preston says something." Natasha said, shrugging her shoulder in a Kanye West-esque manner.

"Can't do that. Aschen or not, you're on Terra. Take that shit back to Langara." Preston said loudly to Mollem.
Cryoface started to make the double whiskey sour before Arcus just up and poofed. "Well, I guess I'd better make it a single, then. And a Long Island Iced Tea, was it?" He was fumbling, but finding his rhythm soon enough behind the bar.
Cryoface was suddenly stunned at the double disruptor shots. One into the android, the second into the shooter. "Dude! What the hells?! Out. Now. I've had lots of murders in here, though I gotta say this is my first suicide."
Now Red had seen a lot of things transpire, but that ranked up there into the category of what the fuck.

“You know, I think we'll get on just fine,” she remarked after the shock of the shooting passed. “Surprise me,” she added.

Her attempt to rise from her stool left her catching herself against Mollum's arm on unsteady feet. Casting a glance towards Preston she frowned briefly. “Though if you have other business demanding your attention...” she trailed off, the disdain making it through the slur of the alcohol. She wasn't a patient woman.
Meldraenei just looked and watched with horror at the act that had just occurred and immediately stood up. All around her a psychic pressure appeared as a long crystaline sword appeared in her hand " Get out Aschen...you are no longer welcome here. You people make me absolutely sick..." She said through gritted teeth as a shield of the same crystal appeared in her hands "I should skewer you where you stand!!"
Arcus Sol passed Sire Mollem McGregor to the right, sweeping his right arm in a flashing motion through the very space that contained his figure and carrying the massive scythe-like weapon with it. He skidded into a slide towards the booths on the other side of the target, crouching in a perfect "D'an-sing-ti" form after the execution of his kill strike.
Arcus Sol paused again, in the very same pose in which he had started. He waited there for just a moment before looking back over his left shoulder to evaluate the damage which he had just inflicted.
Anodyne sighed, quitting her game and placing her gaming device down on her table before she stood up. She began to remove her coat, turning to watch Arcus. The Aschen had did a lot of bad things, so Anodyne was going to take her time in going over to stop any fighting.
Sire Mollem McGregor had been cut clean in half by the strange weapon, without so much as being able to mount a defense. And so the parts came apart, and fell to the ground before the severed portions of the man vanished in what could only be described as a thick black smoke, leaving nothing in it's wake.
Cryoface stared in shock. Curse his snowy body, he wasn't fast enough. Then again, how could he hope to be...?
The shadow watched the fight with wide eyes. Fighting. It didn't know how fighting would effect it. Some how it seemed like a natural thing here, as if this bar only knew violence. What was that? What had happened? With wide eyes, it moved a little closer in curiosity.
Meldraenei watched with glee at the man's falling apart and just left the bar. She knew exactly how to end this once and for all
A single Imperial Bodyguard raised his assault rifle towards Arcus and shouted. "Confederation protection force Drop your weapon now!" He screamed, activating the weapon and centering it on the man. "You just assassinated the Emperor of the Aschen Empire! State the reasoning for your crimes at once!"
"Oh a bar fight!" Renegade perked up as he stood up knocking the table and chair. He began by cracking his knuckles and neck. Then turning around in the direction of the fight.
"Well fuck," she muttered as she stumbled back into the bar, catching herself on a stool, as Mollem was abruptly severed in half out of seemingly nowhere. The room was spinning now and she knocked a glass to the floor as she shook her head. "Every god damn time," she muttered.
Arcus Sol rose to a standing position, sliding the weapon to his right hip in response to the guard's barked orders. He responded,
My contract has been filled.
A swift fist hit Renegade in the side of the neck and shoulder causing him to collapse to the ground unconscious. Geist shook as he lifted the man up onto his shoulder leaving through the side alley where Thor and the others waited.
Arcus Sol leaps forward towards the booth at which he had stopped, tapping his boot on the table before careening towards the wall in an upward motion. He leans only slightly to the left, cutting back across the line he had drawn through his target in his dashing attack.
It recalled how to speak now and moved closer, eyes wide. "Woah." That was woah. How had that...that man? Yes, that was a man, not a woman. How had that man moved so quickly. It didn't know. The shadow being moved closer to where the imperial stood. They looked...different. It's eyes narrowed on the insignia. That was familiar. And not good.
Arcus Sol kicks his right foot out to send his body into a rolling motion, sending him diving for the next booth over, should and ensuing fire follow him. His left foot plants in the seats and his body curls into a tightly wound bundle of kinetic energy.
Cryoface snapped out of his daze as the CPF officer raised his rifle and barked orders. "All right. Now you went and got Frosty all nice and PISSED OFF." He withdrew his massive sword, two-handed even for a man half again the size of a human, hoping to reach Arcus after the assassin was done cutting through the second waste of sperm that called himself an Aschen.
Arcus Sol leaps yet again back towards the two ladies that he had left so abruptly at the bar, dashing with perhaps half the speed with which he had moved. The table behind him rattles, but fails to fall over. His weapon curls back behind him, and with--*snickt*--a flick of the wrist, it was gone.
"Well makes our job easier I suppose." Lord whispered to himself as he grinned following Geist out of the alley door.
Sire Mollem McGregor filled in and reformed with a thick cloud of black smoke, seemingly perfectly intact and without a single wound to his form. He was dazed slightly but otherwise unharmed, he checked his hands and then he checked his body. "What the frak happened.." He said, looking over to Arcus and narrowing his eyes.

"There will not be a civilized planet where you can hide!" He called out before he turned to Red, an audible thunderclap heard.

"I don't even know what happened, but it's best not to question it. My place, Jessica?"
As Mollem filled in there was an audible crack, the sudden displacement of energies and atmosphere as a figure hurled itself at near light-speed through the air directly towards Arcus, in mid flight, a shimmering Calx blade was withdrawn with blinding speed.
It watched the fight with wide eyes, and moved closer, no doubt now underfoot of the fighters, though it was unaware of such a thing. It had no memory to warn it, after all. All was blank. Then it saw the man-thing reform from shadows. It was a Shadow, wasn't it. It looked to its hands. It seemed to be. What was it? It walked over to Mollem now, in curioisity.
Arcus Sol skids to a halt behind the women who'd only just looked back over their shoulders at the commotion. He reaches forward for the glasses the bartender had set upon the table before spinning back around and splashing them into the face of Mollem.
The figure continued to sear towards Arcus' form, and bring the strange blade in a broad arc across his torso, of course this happened within nanoseconds of the Emperor's reformation.

The blade swung upwards, and should it contact, it would slice the flesh clean in two.
Arcus Sol slides backwards in a quick kicking motion, narrowly avoiding the blade sent for his figure.
This happened while the tables caught a shimmering forcefield, shattering upon impact, while Aiyanna moved for another blinding swing towards Arcus, this one aimed for his neck.
Arcus Sol lands in a pile, his ribs now bleeding from the strike that hit him. He collects himself on the floor, rolling out of the way of the next strike.
Arcus Sol pulls back again, increasing range from Mollem in a gesture of respect. He had not expected such stout resistance from a political figure, but was well prepared to carry through with the assassination.
Oh shit. An Aiyanna unit. The ultimate enforcer of the Aschen way of life. "EVERYBODY OUT NOW!" This was more advice towards the bystanders than an order to cease and desist--it was plain to him that these two were beyond the power of any local authority.
Arcus Sol speaks, the glass still in hand.
A ha! So you do have some life in you!
By this point, the ladies he had brought in with him were leaning over the bar and screaming in horror.
“You know, on second though, I would rather not be disemboweled, or dismembered tonight,” Red remarked dryly. "It puts a damper on things, you know?"
Aiyanna quickly rolled in a tightly tucked roll and positioned herself between Arcus and the Divine Shadow, the black clad figure stared at Arcus, clad in a full T-65 Combat skin and standing between the Emperor and Arcus.

"If you plan to kill the Emperor, you'll have to go through me." The figure said in a distorted female voice.
Arcus Sol tosses the glass towards Mollem's forehead as he again reaches for his left hip with his right hand, sending it straight over Aiyanna's form.
Arcus Sol nods,
Very well then.
and sends his body cascading to the right, back towards Mollem's original position.
"This is getting ridiculous." Anodyne said to herself, breaking her vow of pseudo-silence. She watched the fighting, waiting for the order from Preston, and the right time, to intervene.
Aiyanna /me utilized the power of the Calx to intercept the glass in midair with a strange unseen force, hoping to knock it square from the air before it struck it's target.

She then utilized her blink packs in hopes of intercepting Arcus once more on his path towards the Emperor, blinking out and back in front of him, close enough to make a swing with her fist towards him.
Arcus Sol bounces from the floor of the bar, effectively passing around Aiyanna's defensive posture. He launches himself into a spin, dragging that very same signature scythe with him in a right-handed spin through the position of Aiyanna's fist, aiming to slice her arm lengthwise.
One would have to be ignorant as to what was going on than to just sit down and wait for his order. "Take care of this mess will you." David Malachite ordered allowing the two armored units to sync together mentally to create a rather powerful psychic between themselves and David in order to keep their boss safe. "Sir, we will hold the barrier up to protect you." One of the armored guards spoke and David simply nodded in return. "You know today was a bad day to see about hiring on new hands."
Arcus Sol carries through with the strike, moving forward towards Mollem in his spinning motion. His weapon swung far and wide, a dangerous reaching motion for a second kill of his target.
Aiyanna had to blink out once more to intercept the strike, blinking to put her physical torso in Arcus's mid swing, hoping to catch it in the duranthium plating of her combat skin.
Arcus Sol slid through the strike into a roll, again bringing the blade through the second target as he moved with blistering speed. He crashed into some of the bar stools as he came to a stop just underneath the wooden bar.
Aiyanna turned to the Divine Shadow before she blinked out, and tackled him to keep the scythe from impacting, She then blinked out in a flash of white light.
David Malachite just looked up only to hear the orders coming from an unknown source. "This is bad for business." David muttered as he simply reached into his jacket only to pull out what appeared to be a cellular device.
Arcus Sol kicked his foot out again to launch him back from the underside of the bar, changing his position yet again should some outstanding citizen attempt to fire upon him.
Arcus Sol mutters a few words--they almost sounded, well, inhuman?--before coming to another skidding stop at another corner of the bar, the glowing afterimage of his moving figure shuddering behind him.
Sire Mollem McGregor had been tackled and forced back, with Aiyanna's back between him and his attacker, before his world was enveloped in a brilliant white flash of light, and he too was gone with Aiyanna.
Arcus Sol rose to a standing position, the scythe in his right hand glowing with some unfamiliar energy. His ice-blue eyes stared intently at the position where Mollem had just been, uncertain of the outcome.
Aiyanna blinked back in, this time empty handed and facing off with Arcus one on one. "You would strike down an unarmed Politician? The notion of Divine Shadow cannot be killed, you strike down McGregor, there will be another to take his place. No... you will have to strike me down." She said, igniting her Calx blade yet again.

"Who hired you!?"
The Shadow Child was even more confused in the fast paced action. "...My head hurts." It decided, then paused. "...And what's a head anyway?"
As the Aschen vanished, another appeared with a sigh, cigarette in hand and her hand on her hip "Finally...the frakking Aschen are gone" She said as the Basestar remained above the city with her finger on the trigger. Her body glowed softly with the Calx power core fully active and headed for Arcus Sol with a nod "Sorry about the message but I had to make a point. Im Meldraenei and thank you got..." She said and turned around with her own Sword and Shield appearing

"Aiyanna...I should have known..." She said and moved to the side of Arcus Sol, her eyes glowing red with anger "You bitch..."
Arcus Sol grins, respecting the position of this bodyguard.
I am but a Mercenary, but a good one at that.
He snapped the scythe to the right of his stature and slid his right foot back.
"What's a bitch?" The shadow child asked, uncertain now. "It sounds painful." It was learning a ot today, wasn't it. Now if only it could learn what it was. "Am I bitch?"
Arcus Sol flicked his eyes over to the two women still at the bar, who were staring at him in horror. He lifted his left hand to calm them, but took his eyes off of Aiyanna.
Aiyanna was certain the fight was over, and so she released her blade and it vanished from sight, the faceless void of her helmet opened up to reveal a young woman with neon blue eyes and black hair framing her face.

"You were certainly a challenge to fight." The android said. "I actually broke a sweat fighting you, not that I can.. I'm a machine."
“ It's okay, ladies. I've got this under control. Don't let it ruin our night, it's just business! ”
David simply looked over his shoulder just to put his cellular device away. "Boys get ready to leave. We are going to be escorted out of here and leave in one of the Infernal class ships." With that said David rose up from his seat and his two guards created a tunnel of invisible energy for the three of them to take in order to walk out of the bar unscathed.
Arcus Sol responds to Aiyanna.
Perhaps, but there are far greater challenges to come. The Syndicate will not be pleased at your organization's recent actions.
It was really confused now. It walked over to Arcus and tugged on his pant, if he let it. "What's a bitch? Am I bitch?"
Meldraenei just plain glowed as she was shrugged off once again by the woman before her "Your a fool Aiyanna..always have and always will be. What do you think this will solve? That damned idiot wont stop until he takes over the whole galaxy. He is INSANE!!" She yelled at her, clearly infuriated
Arcus Sol restores his intent glare towards Aiyanna briefly before glancing down to his right side, where some little thing was tugging on his pants. Again, he took his attention from the matter at hand.
Excuse me?
Aiyanna kept her blue eyes locked on Arcus. "We don't fear your Syndicate, the United Aschen Empire will always stand to protect it's people. You may kill one Divine Shadow, but another will take it's place, and the Divine Order will persist." The Android said, regarding Mel for a moment. "The Divine Shadow that started the war is no more. This one's trying to undo all the wrong."
It was a shadow in the shape of a boy. "That person thing. I think it's a man." It was a woman, not a man. "She called the other person thing a bitch. What's a bitch? And am I one?" It didn't know. "What am I? Do you know?"
Arcus Sol nods again, returning his gaze to Aiyanna.
Indeed, as a wise man once said. That which will be, will be. You, however--do not fit under that.
Aiyanna inclined her head slightly. "And as a wise man once told me, Don't fight a battle if you don't gain anything by winning."
"Bullshit Aiyanna..that is plain bullshit and I refuse to accept this. The Aschen have always been greedy men and women who will not stop trying to take what is not theirs. If you 'Divine Shadow' wants to truly undo all that has been wronged, get off Terra and go sort out the rest of the Galaxy" She said with a glare so strong, it would go through her visor and into the other's eyes

"Your kind are nothing but conquerors that deserve no place in this universe...insects scurrying about to find a new hole to call theirs. No one wants the Aschen here damnit" She sighed and made her weaponry vanish into thin air
Arcus Sol rises to the challenge that Aiyanna provided for his actions.
I don't want to fight you, you see. I'm only after one thing.
It paused. "What is bull shit?" It had no clue what was happening now. It was very confused indeed. "Whats an Aiyanna?" Oh yes. It was lost, confused, and needed to go home...but had no home to go to. Sometimes, things were trickier than they ought to be.
Aiyanna kept her glare steadfast. "So you kill this Divine Shadow and your contract is fulfilled? What happens when another takes his place?"
It took Arcus Sol a moment to ponder his response, uncertain of whether or not he should reveal his motives. He finally responded,
Ah, but you see--one is all, and all is one. The reality of the circumstance will soon be revealed.
It was still confused, and sighed. "I think you are all silly, whatever silly is. I don't know. And I think you must all be men. Cause men fight, and stuff." It remembered that much. It was proud of its newly remembered knowledge.
Arcus Sol walked back over towards the bar, disregarding Aiyanna entirely this time. He reached out, grasping one of the remaining two drinks in his left hand and raising it to his lips in a long, deep drink.
Arcus Sol slams the empty glass back down upon the table and summons the bartender again.
Sir! Thing! Another round for the beautiful ladies, will ya?
The Shadow followed Arcus rather like a puppy and probably throwing the man's mojo with the ladies off. "What's a round? Can I have one?" It sounded fun.
Arcus Sol turns his head, causing the blonde hair again to bounce from his shoulder onto his chest in luxurious fashion.
A round? How old are you, child?
Arcus Sol snaps his wrist again, returning the blade in his right hand to a closed position before it disappears in a flicker of scintillating light.
"Am I child? I don't know. I don't know what I am." It didn't either. "I think I'm a big old." she said happily.

Wing City SpaceportSetting: Wing City Spaceport

Arcus Sol glances around carefully as he made his way towards the shuttle waiting to take him back into orbit. He was soon to be a wanted man, was he not already. This wasn't something he particularly feared, but he needn't the trouble--especially not now, with the Syndicate's attention being drawn to Terra.
