So begins...

Champion Yvandir vs Gargantua Li Xi

Gargantuan StageSetting: Gargantuan Stage

Expectations were high for the next round of the hunt. Not only were the Gargantua extra rabid this year, but a being of unfathomable circumstance was rumored to be competing today. Aberashians and tourists flocked to the arena.

"Spectators of The Hunt!"
A singular voice rang through the massive Arena, pausing for a few moments for the thousands to settle.

Have you heard the rumors?!
The crowds went absolutely wild.

"Are you prepared to witness The Divine?!
Half the crowd roared with delight, the other half screamed skepticism.

"Let The Hunt commence!"
A hush enveloped the arena, all eyes on where the Champion would enter from.

"Welcome to The Stage....Yvandir!"

Normally the ground would be shaking with the chaos of the crowd, but instead the arena was a deafening silent. Everyone sat at the edge of their seats, if they weren't hanging over the rails, to be the first to see the rumored God Champion.

Behind a giant grate at one far end, a Gargantua waited patiently for the gate to open. The Gargantua was named Li Xi and she was 58 feet tall. She had eight spidery limbs, wiry and quick. At the end of the two legs closest to her face were special pincers. They secreted a substance almost like a spiders web, which burned to the touch. While she couldn't produce much of it, the strange mutation gave her a slight advantage against the Hunters who had taken her in.
“sign a Waiver for if i die?, if i do end up dead leave me for 24 hours i’ll get back up and try again” he chuckled lightly and smirked

Present Day

Yvandír was meditating, a day or two had passed before he was granted his round of combat, he had favored the blind approach, a beast picked for him to fight at random rather than allowing him to select and learn one of the Gargantuan abilities.

His meditation broken by the Spokesman; who’s voice carried to even within the shadowed rooms underneath the colosseum. He stood, not one of his movements making a sound and so he began his way towards the arena. Bringing his cloak up over his shoulders and around himself hiding himself within it, hood up as well.

When he signed on for this fight he was asked of his combat style, his response was “stealth, archery, and a pack mentality.”

High above the arena circling was a the silhouette of an eagle, this Roc ’Vali’ one of Yvandír’s companions waited even from the great height at which it flew, it was massive, in reality Vali’s wingspan was 60ft across, making him as large as some of the Gargantuans and bigger than most.

Soon enough Yvandír stepped out into the arena, striding out into the sunlight he kept his cloak in place, striding along beside him the second of his three animal companions and the most loyal ‘Fenris’ 10ft long nose to tail tip. The Dire, wolf clad in dark plate and chain armour, in all with its armour it weighed in at 1000+ Ibs.

Yvandír lifted a hand and gently patted the wolf on the head before pushing the cloak back shrugging it away to hang loose like a cape almost. He raised a hand as if gripping something and from his curled hand two streams of golden light wisped from it, one up, and one down, leaving a trail that would form into a longbow.

In a few seconds the legendary artifact ‘Huntmaster’ the nomadic god’s longbow had formed, the ‘dark wood’ longbow covered in runic etchings and glowing symbols. He waited, looking upon Li Xi largest of all the captured gargantuans.

“Well, there’s no slacking now”
A shadow passed over the arena in a circle. Everyone looked up and a low murmur swept the crowd. Moments later, a cacophany of cheers. Yvandir had stepped into the arena, and everyone had taken notice. Women swooned. Many men felt mildly inferior. Either way, Vien was eating up the show and wanted more.

The crowd went absolutely bonkers at the sight of the companion animals. Children screamed bloody murder, "I want one!"echoing between calls of "Here doggydoggydoggy!" and, of course, incoherent clamoring. Forn-pops, cakes, popcorn, and all sorts of treats rained into the Stage from the crowd.

Oooooo! In unison everyone gasped in awe as a longbow formed of light from the God's hands. It was covered in glowing etched symbols. Somewhere in the crowd, a toy marketer scribbled furiously into his pad. That would sell like Forn-Pops!

Li Xi reared up to her full height on her side of the Stage, sizing up Yvandir. She stood dead still, and when she thought nobody was looking, when the crowd reached it's loudest, she lunged into the air.
Lightning fast, for a creature of that size, Li Xi landed at four o'clock from Yvandir, right up against the walls of the stage.

A spectator tried to reach out to hit Li Xi-his final mistake. Without even looking she reached a front pincer back. Those close would hear his spine crack, smell his flesh burn as the web-like substance secreted through. She flung the body as hard as she could at Yvandir, spidering her way along the outer wall of the arena.

She kept it moving, knowing there were more than one set of eyes with her life set in their sights.
the nomad god's senses did not miss anything; the various scents of the foodstuffs and perfumes and aftershave; the drum of the chaotic crowd as they all but clamoured for the battle to be met. his eyes solely locked on Li Xi. The intent was to find weakness in the gargantuan's body, to hasten the fight.

Yvandír turned his gaze for but a second to order Fenris into position when Li Xi jumped, his sharpened senses kept him alert of the creature's whereabouts, thankfully so, he turned and twisted wide, leaving no marks upon the sand, his movements as the wind in the calm and water in a river. the body striking his previous position with a sickening splatter of flesh and crunch of shattered bone.

once the flourish of movement had ended; Yvandír's retaliation began; he would begin drawing an empty bow, a stream of golden light, spiralling along and around his forearm that had mere seconds begun drawing the longbow to full draw. an arrow formed in place and in the following six seconds he would full draw the longbow eight times firing ten arrows, multi-shooting a pair of the eight draws.

the power of the draw akin to that of a siege ballista, any normal arrow would splinter before it was released from the bow. and so in any normal circumstance, if an arrow were to strike, it was like being hit by a very pinpoint freight train.

Fenris had begun pacing watching the Gargantuan, waiting for the order to attack. Vali's circling had ended and the colossal eagle hovered, beating heavy wings to stay in place waiting for its chance.
Li Xi managed to dodge half of the arrows as they whistled through the air at an impeccable speed. The crowd screamed, then roared with delight as some of the arrows made heavy impact with Li Xi. There was a great crack as the exoskeleton on her main cavity was punctured. A hairline fracture ripped it's way up her side. She let out a roar as the dust settled around her, the arrows which missed forming small craters.

A pincer dripping with web shot out of the dirt cloud obscuring Li Xi! It did not strike, it wavered in the air for an exact moment, before disappearing back into the dust cloud. The dark form of Li Xi emerged as the air cleared even more so. The crowd gasped when it saw how much damage she had sustained.

Realizing her cover was almost gone, Li Xi dove into one of the craters. Dirt splashed upwards and another dust cloud swirled around her. She did this again, hopping two craters closer to her opponent, using the murk of the air as cover.

Right as she settled into the second crater Li Xi shot out her pincer again. Instead of grabbing, however, she projected the dangerous web directly at Yvandir!
Watching arrows hit their mark and others causing minor to major damage around the arena. Yvandír kept mobile, he wasn't staying in one position for long and he was capable of drawing his longbow on the move. however, he came to a stop as the beast dove into the second crater, and smirked, hearing Li Xi's pincer shift against the ground before erupting for the dust cloud, he was far from surprised but still took the hit, allowing the acid lined web to strike, the sapphire gem set into the platinum ring on his left hand would glow, its 'Freedom of movement' effect activating, the web would fall away from him, leaving him free to move about his business, the acid burnt his clothes leaving holes in the finely crafted leathers and shirt he wore, but had no effect on his flesh.

"VALI! CRUSH IT AND BRING IT OUT INTO THE OPEN!, FENRIS, TEAR OFF THAT PINCER!"

Yvandír raised his voice but the words that came out were alien to those of planet Aberash for he spoke in his home's Elven tongue.

now it was the turn of his heralds, his companions.

Vali entered into a dive, the colossal Roc would turn to expose its talons as it came crashing down from the heavens above, the Dire wolf; Fenris was awaiting the impact and when Vali hit the cloud, for a brief moment it dispersed only to kick back up again from impact, whether the armoured Roc had just smashed into Li Xi like a sledgehammer into concrete or hit the ground next to the beast was uncertain.

Fenris joined the chaos as the sound of the impact ripped through the air. the dust was no issue to the dire wolf, it could see just as well as if there were no dust cloud. and as ordered it made to rip and tear at Li Xi until the pincer and arm was sheared clear from the rest of the body. the strength of both these creatures beyond any norm by a gargantuan degree.
Li Xi screeched to the heavens from which pain came raining down; Vali's aerieal strike was a massive success. Oof in unison the crowd stood to get a better look, the edge of their seats no longer sufficient. Marvin wedged a finger in his ear as the ringing from the impact subdued.

There was a great cheer as Fenrir dove int the fray, The audience clamored over eachother to get a better look at what was happening before the next guy, as nobody seemed to understand exactly what it was the God Champion called out.

Another screech, this time of anguish, echoed throughout the arena. The dust settled, and as it did emerged the image of Fenrir victorious.

Li Xi attempted to roll back upright, having had been knocked completely on her side. Gravity had other ideas. As she slowly reared her orm, the hairline fracture grew into an ooxing chasm. Steam rose as her iinnards slipped towards the ground, red light pulsating stronger and stronger from her wounds. The last of the dust, the Core shining through, the steam risinfg from Li Xi- it all created the illusion of a red cloud shifting its way back to the sky.

In a final attempt to damage that which had done her, Li Xi spasmed all of her limbs, punching, kicking, and stabbing at anything and everything within reach.
As Li Xi began her death throws, flailing like a rabid creature, Fenris was launched from the cloud, as the slick from the blood had made it all but impossible to latch and hold on, Fenris hit the sand in a roll but scrambled back to his feet once again prowling out of reach of the Gargantuan.

Vali, however, wasn't so lucky and a limb pierced the great Roc's wing, the sound emitted from the colossal 60ft wingspan eagle was more akin to a bestial roar then anything from a bird. the Roc twisted reaching under its wing with its beak to snap and destroy the limb that had harmed it, freeing itself to get to a safe distance.

Yvandír released his bow from his grip and the artefact, dispersed into golden light, and so he began a somatic action, speaking again in his home tongue, the very ground at his feet began to bristle with life, as from the sand. grass began to grow, weak and scattered as it was. but that wasn't the target of his spell. he would cast a spell known as 'Thorny entanglement' to restrain Li Xi the barbs of the plants would dig deep and render the gargantuan immobilized.

the spell taking its effect the immediate area around and under Li Xi began growing rapidly vines and thick vegetation pierced through the sand and at incredible speeds took shape.

hopefully with Li Xi now restrained, if she was restrained in this manner, Yvandir would approach to claim his prize, the core.
The Lac Long Quan arena erupted in a cacophony of maddened roars as the great Roc ascended! Nobody could contain themselves as the ground began to rumble. Yvandir the God put on another golden display.

Grasses and foliage reached out to envelop Li Xi. She was no match for the plants despite her size. Her innards oozed steadily out, her squirms weakening, the light from within getting brighter.Steam rolled across the ground. Everyone leaned in to get a better look.
