Nikki's change

Gambit's BarSetting: Gambit's Bar

Nikki Huges entered the bar, her long brown hair, light and straight fell down her back. Black booted feet carried her to an empty table where she ordered a glass of water, crossing one slender jeaned leg over the other.
Ezrael sweeps his features about to eye up each individual in the bar. He was doing what he usually did, which was prey. Nikki Huges was alone and that was enough to warrant his attention. Wings folding upon his back he calls a wine bottle from behind the counter to his hand as he strolls towards her. "May I join you for a drink?" he inquires calmly and pleasantly, despite his demonic features.
Nikki Huges blinked slightly at the ... (man?) that approached her. She smiled politely though, having seen many different creatures in the bar she didn't want to seem rude. She gestured to the empty seat across the table from her. "Have a seat if you wish, can I order something for you?" She asked as she sipped her water. Hooking a strand of long hair behind an ear.
Ezrael indicates to the bottle of wine in his hand, but still he nods and takes a seat. "Go ahead," he says politely. "I just assumed that a person seated alone would like some company."
Nikki Huges nods to the drink he had and smiles. "Thank you, it's always nice to have someone to talk to, though I'm afraid I don't have much to say."
Ezrael merely shrugs. "That's quite alright. Do you want some wine? I'm sure we'll find something we can converse about," he says with a smile.
Nikki Huges nods "I'd love some thank you." She hoped she could come up with something to say, she had really no idea about herself, having lost her memory. But she didn't want him to know that and think she was simple minded.
Ezrael offers the bottle over. "Do you come from around these parts or are you from far away?" he inquires patiently, mind slowly working and ticking away.
Nikki Huges she tapped the screen and when an empty glass arrived she poured the wine into it and took a happy sip. "Well, I am currently staying near here. I don't really know anyone here, I'm not originally from around here." She took another sip, a larger one this time. "How about you?"
Ezrael nods slowly and calmly. "Oh, I come from around here. Don't know many people either. Usually I'm avoided for some reason," he says with a wide grin showing off his pointed teeth. "This may be a personal question, but what racea are you?" he asks calmly, leaning back in his chair.
Nikki Huges tried not to stare at his odd features but smiled at what she hoped was a small joke. "I am human. Nothing particularly special about me." She shrugged and took a drink of her wine. She didn't want to ask him what race he was, she didn't want to be rude, past experiences told her people who were obviously not human didn't like that fact pointed out.
"Oh how dull," Ezrael says with a sigh, though he didn't seem unhappy. "Apologies, but I'm a magical scientist. I revel in the study of different species and races, but human...? Human is rather common, to be honest. No offence meant."
Nikki Huges shrugged "I suppose humans are common, but on the other hand it's also like having a blank slate to work with. Like a blank piece of paper, or a block of stone to be carved." Not that she was all for experimenting on humans, she just didn't want to be ignored for being boring. She took another drink.
Ezrael nods. "Oh, I couldn't agree more. There's nothing like a blank slate to leave your mark on." He grins once more, somewhat devilishly.
Nikki Huges smiled and nodded finishing her drink and setting the empty glass on the table. 'I love drawing, I have done some painting but I like to draw more." She had assumed he was artistic, like her. She was feeling more relaxed now that the wine had kicked in and she wasn't really paying attention to the fact that he was a scientist of magical creatures.
Ezrael casually picks up the wine bottle and fills up her glass, then gets a cup of his own and fills it up too. "Art? Ah yes, the ability to create beautiful wonders with a mere thought. It's something I am rather fond of. What do you draw?" he asks patiently.
Nikki Huges shrugged and took another drink. "All kinds of things, mostly people. I like to sit here and draw people I see." She giggled and took yet another drink. "People are gonna start thinking I am weird."
Ezrael shakes his head. Z"Not at all. There is nothing wrong with drawing people. If you appreciate beauty then why not demonstrate it? Do you have anything you would be willing to share?" he asks. Well, she was doing all the work herself, getting drunk. He didn't even need trick her at this rate.
Nikki Huges smiled and pulled a folded piece of paper out of a pocket. "This is the only thing I have on me right now." She unfolded the paper and slid it across the table. It was a picture of a dragon with feathers and scaly skin. "I see him here a lot and finally got the courage to draw him. It needs work but at lest it look like him." The picture indeed portrayed the bird like creature in great detail, she was her worst critic.
"Ah," he says with a nod. "Dragons are certainly a creature to admire. I owned a dragon once," he muses.
Nikki Huges looked up from her half empty glass. "Really? Like actually owned one?" She didn't know anyone who ever owned a dragon, everyone she talked to about them had told her they were very smart creatures who hated the concept of ownership. She was very impressed.
Ezrael nods. "Yes, for a brief period. Ah... it didn't end too well." He shrugs it off, raising up his cup to drink from it.
Nikki Huges giggled, "I can imagine." Her cheeks were flushed and her eyes were beginning to unfocus, but she couldn't notice much. She rested her chin heavily on her hand. "So what do you do, normally, like as a job." she really had no idea what she was talking about anymore, but that didn't stop her.
Job... "Oh, science stuff. It's all terribly boring. Taking blood samples and things of various species. Analysing them. So on, so forth. Magical science is one barely recognised at this time, but then again, its not entirely reliable." He chuckles and offers a hand out to her. "Did you wish to see some of my work?" he asks.
Nikki Huges smiled and took his hand. "Sure, why not?" She didn't know what he did, or if she would even be interested in it. She stood and swayed some on her feet.
Ezrael indicates to the door. "It's down the street," he says, calmly guiding her for the door, leading her by the hand.
Nikki Huges followed more than willingly, a soft smile on her face. For once she wasn't completely ignored. Almost tripping out the door she giggled loudly.

Main StreetSetting: Main Street

Ezrael Flavaar steps out into the street with a glance around. "Just down this way," he says, pointing down the street. "Ever dreamed of being a dragon?" he asks idly.
Nikki Huges followed him down the street. "Actually I have. I always wondered what it would be like to fly." she looked up into the starry sky and got lost in her thoughts. As she tended to do when she had been drinking.
"So you wouldn't mind it if you had wings, would you?" he asks with a smile. "What's your favourite flying creature?"
Nikki Huges shook her head. "I used to draw myself with feathered wings, usually black like a raven." she smiled at the thought. "I think I have a picture at home, I can run and get it if you want to see it." Again getting distracted.
Ezrael pauses, then grins. "Sure, go ahead," he offers, "Lead the way."
Nikki Huges stopped and looked up at him. "Really? You really want to see it?" She was kind of surprised and sort of stood there staring at him in disbelief for a moment. She then turned in a complete circle and giggled when she faced him again. "I don't know how to get there from here...." she giggled again.
Ezrael nods with a grin. "Well, could you find your way from the rooftops?" he asks calmly.
Nikki Huges shrugged, "maybe, I've never seen the city from up there so I don't know."
Ezrael calls on magic calmly. "One way to find out, yes?" he says, sending the magic towards her. It would form a transparent black platform beneath her feet and begin to lift.
Nikki Huges looked down in surprise as she started to rise. She smiled and looked at him. "You are doing this?"
Ezrael nods. "You would be amazed at what magic can do," he says with a dark grin. Of course, he could have just picked her up and flown up, but he wasn't exactly the sort who liked to be in close proximity with others. He stayed on the ground as the platform floated up. "Can you see your house or where to go yet?" The platform was large enough that falling off wouldn't be a problem.
Nikki Huges looked around hazily and points, "Yeah, that way." She smiled as she admired the view.
Ezrael calmly rose up, behind her, wings not beating. Why bother? He landed on the platform next to her and guided it forward through the air. "Can you point out your house yet?"
Nikki Huges giggled with delight as the platform moved. She lost her balance and quickly reached out to grab onto him. Being drunk always made her lose her balance at the slightest things. She pointed. "That's my house, right there."
Ezrael lowered the platform, not seeming too concerned about having her dangling on his arms. He forgave her only based off the fact she was drunk. If she were sober he probably would not be so kind. Soon they arrive at her house. "Please, lead the way," he says, indicating towards the door.
Nikki Huges fumbled with her key in the lock for a moment before she pushed the door open. The main room was not overly large but the furniture was cozy. She dropped her jacket on a chair. "Make yourself at home, do you want something to drink?" She knelt and dug into a wooden box, searching for her picture.
"No thankyou," says Ezrael, closing the door behind him and locking it as quietly as he can.
Nikki Huges pulled the picture from a folder and stood. "It's not the greatest but I think it gets the point across." The picture was Nikki with an open pair of black wings, she was flying above the buildings of a city. She looked away sheepishly, expecting him to laugh at her for wanting wings.
"Raven wings?" he questions, looking up from the image. Hm, now could he do this without acquiring a raven. Probably! "Wouldn't it be a marvel if the image came true?"
Nikki Huges smiled and nodded. "Yeah it took a lot of birdwatching to get the wings right but I think I got it." she sat on her sofa leaning back, imagining it. "It really would be something, I have seen some people with wings but not many. And I suppose they were born with them."
Ezrael grins, placing a hand on the image. "Would you like to fly like that?" he asks, magic swiling into his palms. "I could grant you such."
Nikki Huges smiled and giggled. "You don't need to do that." Thinking he would use magic to give her a vision of flying. "My imagination is just fine."
"Oh, I'm not talking about visions. See, magical science does wonderous things. Just the other week I melded a person with a dying dragon. The creature was doomed to die, but the person was given the gift of draconic form and talents." He nods slowly. Well, they hadn't appreciated it, since he'd forced it on them, but the idea was the same.
Nikki Huges sat up. "The dragon lived? You saved it?" she wondered how it would work but her mind wasn't in a state to try and think of something so complicated. She blinked slowly starting to get sleepy from the alcohol.
The man shook hsi head. "Not quite," he says, "I merely took one dying life and gave it to another, so that they would live on in the soul of the person. So, would you like raven wings?"
Nikki Huges shrugged. "I don't know, I mean yeah absolutely but. Is it really possible?" She asked, expecting some sort of catch.
Ezrael nods. "It's possibly. I assure you," he says with a grin. "Would you like that?"
Nikki Huges smiled. "yeah, I guess." She probably wouldn't remember anything in the morning but wasn't thinking about that now.
"Come here, then," he says, holding a hand up, "And turn around so I can place them on your back."
Nikki Huges stood and turned her back to him. "Umm, is this going to hurt?"
"Good question," says Ezrael, grabbing onto her shirt and jerking towards him. He was trying to pull her off balance so he could get a better grip and hold her still.
Nikki Huges fell back with a small gasp, completely losing her footing.
Ezrael moved to wrap his arm around Nikki's neck, hand wrapping around to her back. It would be tight, but not tight enough to choke her. His other hand rest on the image as dark magic began to flow through his fingertips. "You'll have to tell me when we're done."
Nikki Huges shifted slightly at the tight grip. "How will I know when we're done, is it necessary to hold so tight?" The room was spinning and she wasn't exactly trying to get away, the tightness of his hold made her a little worried.
Darkness would flow up his arm and down his other to her back. Slowly across her back bones would begin to extend. Ezrael had no way to know whether it would be painful or not. But in addition, it would feel like a hundred pinpricks on her skin all over her body and black feathers seemed to form beneath her skin like tattoos.
Nikki Huges shifted uncomfortably starting to think maybe it wasn't such a good idea.
From her back the bones would forth their way out, extending into the shape of wings. But Ezrael knew this would just not do! A bird could not fly with just wings. They need the strength of body to beat them. While contemplating this, feathers began to sprout from all over Nikki's body.
Nikki Huges gasped as the feathers began to for all over her. "Wait! Just wings! Wait!" She struggled against him.
Ezrael was busy in his own world, trying to figure out the problem of aerodynamics. Her bones would have to be hollow. Oh thrice damn it, she was talking. "What? Oh, whatever," he answers. Well, in all fairness she was drunk, so this was hardly fair or a even remotely a challenge. He'd have to make an allowance for this. Maybe make it temporary. Somehow. Letting out a huff, he proceeded to send forth the magic to make her bones hollow like a birds.
Nikki Huges shrieked and struggled harder, though it wouldn't be much of a fight for him, she was drunk and not very strong. "What? No! This isn't what I wanted!"
"Be quiet," he barked. Honestly, this woman was more then enough trouble. He decided there was nothing for it. He had no choice but to give her more muscles in her torso. As such, her rib cage would begin to unfold, ribs all pointing forward into one final point. At that point, the bones connected to her wings would extend into the new gap. "There, that should allow some maintained flight, though generating lift at the weight of a human being will be nigh impossible." He realses her. Unconcerned about aethetics, he had left her hands, feet and face all the same, other then the feathers. "Hold still, I'm not done."
Nikki Huges fell forward and rolled over trying to crawl away or something, though she didn't get very far. She was drunk enough that she didn't have much strength, even without being all deformed.
"Drink, draw, bird, feathers, wings," he says, calling up more magic and casting it down like a shower on Nikki, "Hello, hi, good, wonder." He stopped as the magic probably seeped into the girls body, at which point she would begin to revert ot her normal human form. "Whenever you hear these words you will transofrm again. Have fun with that," he says calmly, "And get a good nights sleep."
Nikki Huges gasped and glared at him breathing heavily. "What did you do to me?" She demanded as she sat up rubbing her spinning head.
"Pardon me?" says Ezrael, "I was just dropping you off at your house. You had a bit much to drink." To add to his cruel nature, drinking large quantities of alcohol would cause her to revert from bird form to human, or it would expire after several hours. He was just a right bastard.
Nikki Huges she pressed her hands to her head. "wait, no, you changed me." She blinked slowly trying to put together the events that had happened only moments earlier.
"Are you sure?" he says with a raised eyebrow, "I put you down on the couch for a moment then went to find the bathroom. Maybe I should stay a little while and make sure you're okay."
Nikki Huges closed her eyes tightly for a moment. "No, no I'm fine. I just need some sleep is all." She believed him, the alcohol in her system was already making the memories from a few moments ago fade. She began to believe it was all a dream.
Ezrael nods, opening the door and heading out into the street. "Goodnight," he offers.
Nikki Huges nodded "Yes, Good night." She pulled herself onto her sofa and lay there, blinking slowly.
Ezrael heads out into the street, mischief done. He would have to remember to offer her a drink sometime. He chuckles as he walks off.
Nikki Huges closed her eyes trying to clear her thoughts but was asleep with in moments.
