East Lanterna WaySetting: East Lanterna Way

Noxize Deschain A group of Descorp Dragoons arrives from the direction of the woods, supported by a number of Chimera. They have among them a complete set-up for one of Descorp's new technological wonders. Modeled after something encountered on some long lost planet the weapons used sonics and plasma jets to knock airborne objects either out of the air or off-course. This worked on most large projectiles as well as smaller ships and large debris. If enough worked together they could even effect large scale space vessels. The Dragoons brought four.

Setting up the weapons took a bit of time, the Chimera were there to act as support- the combined power generated by a full squad had the needed yield to either shield the operation or smash would-be attackers into paste. There was two squads. This site was secure. Just to be safe however one of the hulking armored beings was on his mobile-vox caster, reporting to The Boss.

Nox slid out of nothingness and stepped into the area, tapping the Chimera on the shoulder, "No worries. I am here. Get this site secure. I have a second battle group on it's way with more gear. Today we earn our pay."
Reisel looked up to the sky.

To the north the Piata had closed an hour ago. Citizens were of course milling around everywhere else in the village. His soldiers wormed through them, doing their best to not raise too much of an alarm. To the south, The Mint and Sage was heavily patrolled. He frowned at all the air activity, then back to the tavern and Aschen forces in the square. Was this all related?

It was a good thing the Crawling Chaos shrouded this area in night, else there would be pure chao-

Reisel thought too soon as a bunch of large, technological things he had never seen before came strolling down the street. What was going on? Was there something that he didn't know about? Who we-

Spotting the Descorp logo, it clicked. It all clicked. War. Big, huge, war. He didn't know how, or when. He knew there were problems but...Did they really need this kind of force? Weaponry?

"You there!" He called, "Who's in charge with your unit?
Noxize Deschain The black being would round on the small flesh-bag, tendrils of it's mass writhing about for a moment- Nox figured it could peel the man like over-ripe fruit in about the time it would take him to take another step...but these were allies. That was rude. Green glowing eyes flash, "I am."

The armored brutes glance over, then resume the work- they knew better than to even LOOK like they were not busy. Several began passing out shoulder mounting cannons, these would in essence transform the Chimera into walking tanks. Not that it was needed. It was fun though.

Dragoons busied themselves planting the stabilizers, several working to fit together the barrel systems. The anti-air weapons would be up and ready in no time. They wouldn't have the range to reach those ships in orbit...but if something came close enough....ouch. If needed the ship WAS still in orbit somewhere, cloaked most likely. It was bad for business to get blown up in interstellar war.
My respects,
Reisel bowed, flustering. He then pointed to the big machines.

What do those do? Will those protect the Hollow?

Noxize Deschain Nox would chuckle, a rare thing for the being to do. "In a word? Yes. Yes they will. We have things that can protect the people as well...but I would need to have a few to test it on."

Things were in the works, it was rumored that Nox had brought out the Black Box- a sealed vault of tech harvested from hundreds of now dead worlds. The boys in the labs were busy on the ship. Whatever was coming...it was big.

Nox made a show of leaning against a crate of ammo and picking at imaginary fingernails, "If only there were volunteers. We might even be able to act in time..."
A... Test?
Reisel shifted from one foot to another.

Maybe, if the details weren't too gruesome, he could get a soldier to volunteer. Or volunteer himself.

What are the details?
Noxize Deschain Nox would slither closer, somehow it always seemed that the being moved without moving. At times it was unnerving to witness. An arm would drape across the man's shoulders, while the two normal ones would gesture and such- Nox talked with it's hands when excited. "The thing is..it's a secret. Walls have ears, eyes and loose lips. This tech..if it works, would make everyone in the hollow immune to those pesky UV weapons hunters like to use. Hell. It would make them immune to A LOT of things. But...we need to test."
Reisels eyes widened, and he immediately began scanning the crowd, looking for someone to grab.

Secret technology, immune to UV weapons? Sounds like a plan.

Give me one minute,
He disappeared into the growing crowd as the remnants of Taiyou ships scattered through the atmosphere with a Terra shaking boom.
Noxize Deschain While the man was gone Nox would resume watching as the Dragoons worked on the weaponry, signaling the flagship to prep the science team...things were about to get interesting.

Verinotte SquareSetting: Verinotte Square

There was a crowd today, the setting was a bit more apprehensive than usual. Supernatural citizens swarmed around the fountain, people had places to go.

In the sky, chunks of metal cascaded towards the Cursed Wood, only to be lost in the clouds of the Crawling Chaos. Looking up, he hoped the magical wards set over this town would hold.

Reisel stood high above the crowd, a strong man with purpose. He looked for a Vampire, scanned with his eyes. Someone, anyone, the first to make eye contact would do. Urgent matters were at hand.
Vendetta breathed a sigh of relief. With all the people out today, it woud be easier to blend in, sneak around the mindless humans without being noticed. She wore a large red hat to cover her raven hair, in contrast with her unusually pale skin it looked like blood had spattered upon her. She smirked at the thought. Blood was her master, and yet her greatest enemy. She needed it to survive, to continue on. But survival was difficult in these times, when vampire hunters swarmed anyone who could remotely be classified under the pale skin category. Humans, stupid creatures. Never can mind their own business. But she couldn't think about that for now.. She had to blend in. Move quickly and soundly, don't be noticed. She continued to chant it within her mind as she bustled within the crowd, the bubbling of the fountain filling her ears.
There.

The vampire in the large red hat. He could smell her from here, and it wasn't just because she was dead. Reisel found he actually liked the scent, and was drawn to it. Was this the curse of the ladypire?

Quickly, Reisel pushed through the crowd. As a soldier, he didn't have to say excuse me. People moved out of his way, or were pushed. Not many seemed to truly mind, for large chimeras had been spotted on the Eastern side of town.

The crowd marveled at the technological wonders as he made his move. Reaching for the arm of the woman in the red hat, he said,
Madame.

A word, one word, but he spoke it with such urgency, he hoped she would not break away, that she would turn, that she would stay. Could she be the one? The one with the powerful feminine scent?
Apex-1 Large and armored, the Chimera moved through the area. Stenciled on it's chestplate was the name Apex-1, which was rare- most Chimera only had numbers for names. This one moved with a purpose- it was late. Already squads were moving about the Hollow and the surrounding area, setting up defenses and distribution centers. Word had it a Science Team was about to touchdown. For The Boss to send in the Blue Hand..things were serious.
She was taken aback by a sharp grab clenching her arm. She turned into him, her face inches from his. "Yes?" She could smell the blood pulsing through his veins.. his neck so close.. No. Focus. Act normal. Act human.
Forgive me,
He slowed his blood flow, succumbing fully to his vampyric side.

You have no cause to fear here, I-
Then, the Chimera labeled Apex-1 cast a shadow over the square. Oh, he hated to do this to her, the lovely woman he just met.

I have the opportunity of the lifetime. For you, madame,
He looked to the machine as it approached. He lowered his voice, and leaned in close. Whispering, he said directly into the womans ear,
Complete immunity to the Sun.

He stepped back, and flashed his teeth. He was a vampire too, of sorts.
A vampire? This soldier.. He was rather pale.. but his teeth.. Now those were the selling point. And suddenly she believed everything he had to say. She'd do anything to be immune to the sun, her greatest weakness. She'd follow this man to the ends of the Earth to accomplish something like that, if it was even possible. Even enveloped by the shadow of the chimera, she trusted him.
Apex-1 This damn Hollow was so big, protecting it was going to be a challenge. The Science Team would make things better. They had all the best gear. Suddenly the armored being would stop, a priority call over the Vox-caster. A vampire was supposed to be finding a volunteer. The image played across his HUD, and an auto-scan indicated that the man was close. Apex blinked and looked about, taking note of his position...and the woman he was talking to. Was she it?
Reisel reached for her hand, and shot the chimera a troubling glance. Had it spotted them?

It had. He looked to where he thought it's eye was, and nodded, again looking back towards the woman.

Before we proceed,
He said,
Your name, dear rose. I am Reisel Dracul, of the Dracul Family, Descendant of Lord Alucard, or Dracula,
Reisel bowed his head. It was a big title to bear, but he bore it.
"Vendetta," she said, looking deep into his eyes. "My name is Vendetta, origin unknown." Her mind flashed back to the village she had sucked dry after realizing what she was. She couldn't believe it at first, that she was this monster everyone whispered about in the darkest corners of the night. After she had quenched her thirst, hanks to a small village, she went into hiding, and had been ever since. But this man excited her. Gave her a new hope.. maybe she could figure out how to survive more easily.. And for some reason she believed everything his delicious lips said.
Apex-1 "Subject located. Escort? Or am I to wait on the Blue?" Apex was on the Vox, his orders were to hold position. Not to lose sight of the subject. The Blue Hands were on the way. A shudder passed through the hulk's form- something that drew that must be worth noting. What made the hardest fighters shudder? 'two by two...hands of blue' the thought comes without warning- the childish rhyme that was whispered behind the Science Team's back.
Reisel smiled. An interesting name, indeed. He returned her deep gaze, wondering who exactly this woman was, to catch his attention like this. Now, of all times.

Vendetta,
He almost whispered her name, stopping himself from adding his own last name. Why did he want to do that? He threw up an arm and signaled the Chimera. They were ready to be transported to the ship.

Reisel squeezed Vendetta's hand as the shudder quaked through the machine.
We're Ready,
He called out, then whispered to her,
Brace yourself. I'm as in the dark as to what happens next as you are.
"Take me," she breathed heavily into him, feeling his senses heighten as he took in her scent. "I'm not afraid."
Descorp Science Team. They came. The crowd parted automatically, as if feeling a sudden wave of cold pressure. There were two, always two, and as the rhyme said, they had blue hands- gloves really, but it still worked. Neat white suits, pressed and tailored with care, even the shoes kept spotless- quite a trick on this mud ball of a rock. The blue of the hands made more eye catching against the sterile contrast. One carried a case, the other what looked like some form of rod.

They saw the armored form of a Chimera Battle Unit and headed it's way.
He gripped her hand tighter, spotting the team of scientists. This looked...Not as he had imagined. Reisel knew little of science, he knew more of magic and the unexplainable. He didn't know much.

Protectively, Reisel placed his other arm around Vendetta.
Apex-1 "You have to come with us miss. Sir, you are needed to come along as well." Apex would stride towards the pair of vampires, his actions stiff, nervous. The Science Team worried him.
She felt the strength of his arm tighten around her. Who were these white suited men? But Reisel gave her reassurance.. Reassurance of what exactly? She knew not. But reassurance all the same.
Reisel nodded, agreeing to be ushered to wherever they would go.

The thoughts of what was to come gave him butterflies. He wouldn't leave Vendetta's side.
Descorp Science Team. The two men would step up, and each one take hold of a vampire. A shimmer of light...and all four would vanish. Transported far away...to the Descorp flagship- Rhynn's Hammer.

SpaceSetting: Space

Marvin Calough Marvin was nervous. A Science Team was inbound with two vampires. The ship was already on high alert- lurking out here, avoiding whatever was was brewing. The Cloaking system was working out so far. But who knew. He paced back and forth, as suddenly a chime sounded. Incomming.
She looked around wildly, franticly searching for Reisel. Where was he? What was happening? Without Reisel she felt defenseless in this unknown place with all these odd men.
Descorp Science Team.
Descorp Science Team. The Science Team released the two and took a few steps away. The one with the rod raised it and waited- should either get any ideas towards violence...well, lets say it would be unpleasant. They tapped Vox-casters and summoned the escort, Marvin.
Reisel immediately went for Vendetta.

He was confused, and slightly disoriented. He didn't understand the jump, or the new surroundings. Worst of all, he could practically smell her fear.

Holding out his arms, he reached for her, looking around at the scientists. Alright, now what?
Reisel appeared and wrapped his arms around her, and her fear melted away. What was going to happen?
Marvin Calough Marvin rushed in, breathing heavy from the run. One did not keep the Blue Hand waiting. "Welcome to Rhynn's Hammer, flagship of Descorp. You two are about to advance...well...everything." he stammered, smiling. They of course had no idea what was going on, so he only looked crazy. "Come, right this way. We will need to prep you for the operation."

He would gesture towards the main hall, if they chose to look about they would notice they were in what looked like a small room filled- empty save three large circles drawn on the floor. The receiving room was kept spartan to prevent...accidents.
Reisel took in his surroundings, still holding Vendetta. This was strange, very strange. It was by far the most expensive looking empty room the vampire had ever been in, and there was something unsettling about the way the air moved in here.

Are you ready?
He asked Vendetta, pulling away to look in her eyes. It would be under the most extreme of circumstances he meets someone he actually likes.
"Yes, but for what?" She pulled back into him. She was so frightened, as much as she hated to admit it to herself.
Marvin Calough "Great, right this way.." Marvin would exit the room and enter what most would think of as a pretty standard passageway in a starship- metal walls, floor and ceiling. This portion of the ship was on lock-down, so noone would be in the way, this made it easier to herd the frightened guests towards the Medical Bay. "How does it feel to be off planet? I assume you two never have before.."
For the future,
Reisel answered Vendetta simply, having no other way to put it. With an arm around her shoulder, he moved after Marvin down the hall.

Off planet?
Reisel asked Marvin. Oh, right, space.
Space. Without realizing, he gripped Vendetta a bit tighter. He had never even been in a, oh what are they called. Flanes. Airflanes.
Are we moving?
Vendetta just kept quiet. She had no words. Her mind burned with confusion. All this had happened in such a short expanse of time.. Wrapping her head around it was nearly impossible. Reisel pulled her closer, and thankfully did the talking for her.
Marvin Calough "Oh, kinda. 'Bout as fast as the planet rotates- we keep this thing in orbit above that castle of yours as best as we can. There is some drift, but a few thruster blasts usualy sets it right" he taled while he walked, he was excited. This was a big day. He had a vague idea of what was about to happen. "So, you two a couple?"
Vendetta knew if she was still human, her cheeks would be burning crimson.
Reisel nodded. He had no idea what any of that techno jargon was. No clue.

Uhh...
He looked to Vendetta, blushing in the slightest thanks to the fact that he still had blood. Despite this, Reisel didn't move his arm from her shoulder.
Marvin Calough They two looked cute. Marvin felt bad for what was comming. "There will be pain, but our team will minimize it. Think on the bright side...it's for the greater good." They had reached a sealed door marked with a large blue cross. Med Lab. Marvin pressed his hand against a sensor and waited while a computer verified who he was..."This is a big day. You two are going to be heroes."
She looked at the man in white in the eye for the first time as she said, "Yes, we are. And if you attempt to seperate us, your jugular will be nonexistent faster than you scream for your life. Just to be clear." Her eyes gleamed with a defiance that clearly shocked anyone. "And what are you referring to about this 'big day'?"
Again, Reisel squeezed her shoulder, giving Marvin a hard look. He was not going to leave her side. They may have just met a short time ago, but they were in this together. She may be a pawn, and so may he, but that meant nothing to Reisel. He had smelled a smell he would never forget, the smell of Vendetta.

Immunity from the Sun,
he spoke up again, looking to the Marvin for confirmation. To know they weren't duped.
Marvin Calough Marvin would nod, her threat meant nothing. If needed she could be taken down with force, already several of the Chimera were in secret sections of the bulkhead ready to pounce. Vampired were tough...Chimera were created to be tougher. "The sun...fire..whatever. If it hurts you...it won't any more. What we are talking is immunity from pain, death and damage. We have tech here that will change the world..."
"Will we survive this?" she asked, irked that he had no reaction to her threat. Don't make me show you, she thought.
Reisel shifted again. That sounded risky. Very risky.

Would they survive it? He didn't want to think about that. Holding Vendetta close, he looked to Marvin, and nodded. Reisel was ready to go under. He had no time to waste.

I shall change the world, or I shall die trying,
Reisel said nobly.
Marvin Calough Marvin would chuckle at her question, undead afraid of death? How cute. "You'll be fine. The Team is the best. Hell, they MADE those Chimera things you've seen about on the surface. They can handle a pair of vampires." Marvin had no idea what ELSE Reisel was, but that would become known when he was on the table. "Well, lets do this thing...step right up...and change the world."
Reisel Dracul squeezed her hand and entered.
Marvin Calough Two Chimera stride forward, one taking the female..the other leading Reisel deeper into the operating theatre. Already the Science Team was there, scrubbed up and wearing smocks. The blue gloves even looked clean. Good for the vampires. After the dirty work the Hands of Blue were typically involved in...scrubbing was needed. The male would be led to a table and 'assisted' if needed to lay down and be strapped in. The party was about to start.
