Name: Akio Revela

Nicknames/Aliases: Doom of the Night, Terror of Legions, Survivor of the Blood Purge, Psycho-kid, God Slayer, One Who Smiles While Slaughtering, Leon Smith, Dakota Ranger, Pharma DeSarrella, Hibiki Tanaka, Simon Fisher

Age: Ten when turned into a vampire.

Personality: His version of vampirism is a very rare one, which causes the Vampire's personality to maintain mostly consistant at the time it turned more then others. Although he has still matured in some ways, his tendency to be childish can be seen clearly. That said, if one attempts to use that against them, they would find it is not as easy as it would seem.

Although he can be a bit silly and childish on the surface, he does have a serious side to him. Additionally, he seems to love to do weird experiments and find things out, and some might consider some of the things he researches unethical...but he uses criminals for his test subjects so its probably fine. Not normal ones either, but really bad criminals. Like, they commit crimes against children, or multiple people, or are just general scum.

History: Akio, who went by another name not listed in any records but is vaguely known about, lived in a small village out of the way of most things located in... (DATA CORRUPTED). There, he... (DATA CORRUPTED) ...but then one day, everything changed when... (DATA CORRUPTED). During the incident, he managed to escape but was found and kidnapped by a special breed of vampire, one more unusual then the rest. And so, while only being ten years old, Akio was used as food for such vampire that possessed unrealistic abilities in his eyes. However, mid way... (DATA CORRUPTED) ...and in all the chaos, Akio escaped again. As he was not killed by the Vampire who had been feeding on him, he ended up turning into a vampire from the leftover venom.

After that, Akio eventually managed to heal himself up back to full strength, and adopted a new name as he searched for a settlement. This was... (DATA CORRUPTED) ...and then... (DATA CORRUPTED) ...which resulted in... (DATA CORRUPTED). By the time the fires had gone out in that settlement, Akio knew he had to run and hide, and become stronger. However, he had now discovered how to use his abilities to some extent, and so he began training as he traveled to become stronger and stronger.

Additionally, because of... (DATA CORRUPTED) ...and with what happened with.... (DATA CORRUPTED)... , he realized just how dangerous things were getting and made sure to never raise a big fuss like last time. He tried to remain as silent and unknown as possible, still unaware of the truth until much later.

Across the decades that followed, Akio learned of many things, including... (DATA CORRUPED) ...and the reason why... (DATA CORRUPED). And so now, with his knowledge, experience, and powers, he pushed forward to make a new name for himself, and further expand his abilities, under the name Akio Revela, which supposedly is a name made from the letters of an old friend he once had.

Powers and Abilities:

Bloodmaster: Akio has full control not only his blood, but all blood within a certain radius around him. The exact distance of that radius has only been inconsistently measured, but his emotional state seems to be a factor.

Phase Walk: Akio is capable of phasing through whatever he chooses, though it is still unclear how he can make it differentiate between walls and floors.

Magic Attributes: Akio has high affinity with multiple Magic Attributes.

Enhanced Physical Abilities: Nuff Said.

Interface: For some unknown reason, Akio can interface with all technology using his brain, and can bring up a form of holographic projection only he can see. However, if he uses his magic, he can make it appear for others as well with a bit of focus.

Unaging: Ever since he came a vampire, he has stopped aging.

Shadowstep: An ability that lets him turn invisible, and silences himself to prevent any noise from being made. However, it is impossible for him to maintain this if he talks, as it silences even his breathing and heartbeats.

Equipment:

Wand (Staff) of the God Nightingale

Although its called a wand, that is because it was used by a God which likely made her appearance larger then normal people it is the size of a staff in Akio's hands. However, utilizing it requires the person to recognize it as a wand. Because Akio had picked it up and used it before anyone told him "It was a staff" as their misconception was, or before he knew the common sense differences between staffs and wands, he was able to (Accidentally) bring out a power that no one had been able to for ages.

The Wand of the God Nightingale boosts the abilities of those that hold it, particularly their stealth abilities. Additionally, one can use it to fly, much like a witch's broom. It amplifies magic used by the holder, and when a blood link is established, can be summoned forth at any time and utilized more effectively.

It is made of a black, glossy metal that boasts a high defense, as it once took a particle cannon shot that had been enchanted for extra damage, and was unscratched. It is questionable whether it can even be broken at all.

Book of Blood Summoning:

By applying blood into the book, Akio can summon a replica of whatever or whoever the blood he put into it at any time. It will maintain all their skills, abilities, and even equipment they had at the time the blood was taken. It may also be seen as a heretical artifact by some religious people.

Medallion:

Something precious to him, that he never leaves anywhere except on his body. It has been enchanted with more defense and protection spells then all the national banks of the Terra combined.

NOTES:

Akio has many connections to small businesses and so forth, nameless entities that are small and off radar, but he also has a notable servant force. Most are just maids and servants that look average and are easily missed, but he has three maids in particular that serve him. They had other names originally, but now they go by Ruby (The English One), Topaz (The French One), and Amethyst (The Japanese One). Notably, those were names they chose after the four of them had stopped through a market, and Akio mentioned in passing each one of those gemstones went well with them.

These three are special because over the centuries, Akio saved them from being raped and murdered. However, while he encountered many of these situations, he had found that these three for some reason had been given a fatal wound before being raped. As such, he sired them into vampires, and figured they would either serve him eternally, or commit suicide. Either or. For some reason, all three were also exceptionally beautiful. If Akio was even a bit more romantic, he might have fallen in love with one of them by now.

However, all three of them have fallen madly in love with him, to the point it might seem pushy or creepy. And no, this was not something instant after they were turned. Akio might be an exceptional vampire, and (probably) a decent person, with a great mind, but he still had the body of a child. No, their affection for Akio grew after seeing everything he could do and accomplish, and having stayed at his side even with that body for centuries, their adversity to being attracted to someone who looked like a ten year old boy was eroded away, and now not only have they been loyal to Akio from the start and grateful for what he did to them, but even developed feelings of wanting to be with him.

However, it is a totally one sided interest. Akio's inner romantic is deep asleep, if not dead. Though, he does get embarrassed.

So begins...

Akio was sitting at the table, with his feet raised. If one were to ask why he was sitting there, he might say "Because it seemed fun" or "Because it looked interesting". Of course, whether it was the truth or not was all dependent. After all, Akio had a habit of being cryptic. His own name was technically an alias, but he never used his original name anymore so it became his official name. The vampire who appeared as a ten year old was typically hard to read, because sometimes he would act childish, and other times he would formulate advanced plans and stratagies.

He was a bit all over the place.

As he took one of the pink letters, he grumbled a little. "Pink? I mean, I know black would be cliché and all, so would red, but what about green? Or teal? Or purple with orange pokadots? Now that would be fun! Hehe".

Akio randomly mentioned some things as he held up the envelop. He considered the possibility of just changing the color himself with an otherwise useless color changing spell he picked up, but that might seem poor in taste.

Akio was completely disinterested in the wars, or the planet, so he did not bring them up. As someone who lost his home village, was kidnapped and turned into a vampire, and then lost the next place he had stayed at, Akio was not particularly attached to one place anymore. Although he did prefer places such as where he was now would remain, Akio could easily get over such a loss. However, one did not need to worry much about him, because he rather enjoyed the company.

Even if he was an oddball.

A crunching sound came from the back of the room. It went on and off, pausing for a few seconds at a time and then resuming. Each time there was silence, a sense of hope was felt in the air, only to turn to annoyance when the sound came back. This went on for a new minutes, until a small sigh led to a pause.

“Really, Derry? Now, of all times?”

A handful of finger bones were put back in their pouch. The fellow eating them clacked his teeth to get the splinters out, looking faintly apologetic. The tone of his voice implied that he had explained the reason for his actions multiple times in short period of time, however, and that he was beginning to do it on reflex.

“Ate all the soft bits on the way over, boss. Got no time as of late for digging, seeing to your travels.”

A nod of acknowledgement. Without the sleeplessness of the ghoul, there likely would have been a lot more sun-related difficulties. How he managed to set up multiple train-rides to be night-only, he’d never really know. Getting the coffin booked as carry-on was something he’d hold over him for years. Still, a retort was required.

“Could you not have some of this lovely blood? I know you prefer it...brown, but it’s quite good, I can assure you.”

“Got my own drink, boss. Figure now you should focus on the...what is this, some type of meeting?”

Now it was his turn to look exasperated. The vampire watched his friend produce a musty bottle of something that smelled like ash, rubbing his temples.

“The Detente, Derry. I’ve explained this multiple times. You were the one who urged me to do this, godammit.”

“Boss, you’re getting a touch of rigour being cooped up in that crypt. If anything, this is getting you a free lunch. One that ain’t on me.”

“You know damn well why I’m in that crypt, you colossal ass.”

“Yeah. And now where are you now?”

“...Not in the crypt.”

There was the sound of very smug ghoul patting a very annoyed vampire on the shoulder, followed by the familiar sound of chewed bone.

“Eat yer blood, boss. Have some fun.”

"Yes,fun" Daemala's mouth formed a prim line. She slowly stirred her tea. The Detente was due to come out of their hole once again.

"We're to improve relations, across the board. Fun is a start."

Zosimos mock-yawned. He put his feet on the table, much to Daemala's annoyance; the old vampire wasn't paying her any mind.

"I just hope the people that come are interesting..." Akio mentioned as he adjusted himself in his chair, and he sipped something from a wine glass. It was actually pure blood though, freshly harvested from a "donator". It wasn't anyone the people would miss however, the scum bag had committed crimes against children after all. And his blood was unexpectedly pure, even if the man himself was scum.

"That said, I suppose that means we should try to keep the hijinks, and general level of chaos low, despite it being the chaos ball? Or, do I have permission to turn off the gravity halfway through for some zero gravity dancing?"

Akio thought it would be more interesting if a few of them got into fights, because then he could test his new toys out on them.

"That said, we should also get some good entertainment...I wonder, who would be the most fun?"

Sitting in his usual chair, which had been a Bean Bag chair he just carried in one day, plopped down, and sat as if nothing was wrong, he was actually concerned with security, but in truth he was not sure how to improve it until his research was a bit more completed.

"I know a good band, myself. Good men, willin' the lash themselves down if the world goes crosswise, yeah?" Dermot chuckled at the bemused expression shot his way. Old bat had no sense of humor. He gave a gesture of mock-confusion to his friend, shrugging.

"I mean, unless you prefer stayin' grounded or what have you. Might make the less...what's the word, boss?"

"Supernatural, Derry. It's what we all are, and you know that. It's better than that term you used back in...where are you from again?"

Another shrug, this one genuine. They both had their boundaries. The old bat must be pretty steamed if he was willing to drag his origins up.

"Easy, boss. I'm from all over, same as you. 'Eaters', fer the record. 'Cause at the end of the night, it's all about what we can get down our gullets."

Ignoring the snort of derision, he continued.

"Might make the humans a bit funny in the head, having everythin' go screwy on 'em. Speaking of, what's the grub going to be? Blood's just the tops for you lot, but some of us have a different tastes."

The vampiric lawyer frowned as he entered into the Room of Reason only to look and listen to what all had been said. He would always remain somewhat fashionably late but one could not simply take into account who would arrive next or why.

"Pink is an appropriate color considering that October is usually associated with Breast Cancer awareness however I cannot argue if this color choice was the reason why our fair Lady Tauvyr picked it or if she just fancied the bright abomination that stings they eyes and the very presence of ones soul." He simply removed his jacket and placed it upon a stand by the door only to cross his arms and look directly towards Daemala and then the others. "I also assume that you had called upon every member of this little club of ours and I'm simply following the conclusions that I'm early or this is all that showed." Regardless of her answer Louis walked by a few of his Blood just to grab a book from one of the shelves and plop himself down awaiting for business to begin as usual.

Louis was a man for details though it was this evening he found himself distracted as he simply held the title page before him and glanced upon the two vampiric children only to wonder why someone would bring such a curse to anyone so young. This was to say that he was not mocking or showing disrespect as he kept his glances to a minimum. Laws and edicts had always been of primary concern and even Louis knew the need for such parties but there was a hope that maybe the dynamic would change and that something interesting would happen.....after all, if nothing changed, there was still his current client who had something to hide.

"It's a good color," Daemala remarked, stiffening with annoyance. Zosimos barked a laugh. How the two belonged to the same bloodline was almost unfathomable until you considered who connected them together.

"However, it's true we are all here for a greater cause. This little club," She swept her gaze around the room, landing a glare on Louis, "Is all that protects us."

The thought hung in the air for half a second. Ulrich Paternosta cleared his throat and broke the silence. He was crucially aware of the situations beyond the Cursed Wood. Terra was going to hell, and it wasn't the first time. This time, however... It worried him.

"I've...news," Ulrich spoke up of change, "Strange mortals. They be...spawning," he could think of no other word, "Seemin'ly anywhur. In our own backyard, ya like it? Backn' the Castle. Tha's why I'm late. This one," Ulrich elbowed the kid-pyre, who looked very agitated with the present situation, "Crawling round the side o'the house."

"Is that Lessard? blood I smell?" Zosimos slowly took his feet from the table and planted them firmly on the ground. He honed in on the Terun, who flashed his teeth in return. The tension between them was palpable. Daemala sighed and took off her white gloves. She slapped them to the table with frustration.

"Improving relations is our only chance for survival on this cesspool of a planetary body we've become so invested in! If the two of you can't turn your noses off for five minutes while we discuss the fate of our people! We are confined to these trees. I, for one, am tired of my containment. Especially considering our home can barely be called such, if mortals can simply appear in our backyard! Horrific circumstance, we are in!"

Speaking of the backyard, Daemala turned to the bone cruncher and gave it a sweet smile. There would be many more bodies buried back there. Plenty of flesh for the diggings! She snapped her fingers and the room attendant jumped up to facilitate another round of tea.

In a moment that might shock everyone, as he took a sip of blood from his wine glass, he also took a sip of tea afterwards. While a wine glass might not fit someone of his appearance, it was pure blood so as a vampire it fit. But Akio had never been seen drinking tea before, so anyone who witnessed it might be a bit surprised. But what might be more surprising is that his expression changed.

Normally, Akio held an expression that was child like. Even when fighting, working, or talking about matters, he often looked innocent and child like. But this expression, even when worn by a child, was different. It was an expression someone with a child's face could only make if they had undergone quite a few trials, had years or decades of experience, or both. It was something most if not all at this table had never seen from one of their newest members.

"Aside from the ball, the situation is getting serious. I do not want to get involved with the wars of mortals, certainly not with their governments who would only seek to exploit us, but we do have to communicate with them on some level or they will try to claim us as their own. And I am in no mood to get drawn into that sort of conflict. I might like a good fight, but there is a realm of distance between a fight and a war. That means, we have to flex our influence as well as our power, without antagonizing anyone, to not become prisoners and to expand our freedom. And this ball is the best way to do it. That is my opinion anyways".

Akio spoke a lot more then usual, in a voice he had never used in this company before. Truly, it was not the voice of a child, but an old man who normally had a child's personality. His form of vampirism made him preserve his personality, but that did not mean he could not grow as a person. It just meant he kept his childish vigor, curiosity, and fun loving attitude. He could still grow as a person and make use of his experience.

"That is why, we should go all out for this Chaos. Let us not serve just normal meat, but meat from the rarest and most dangerous of beasts that only exemplary individuals can hunt. Let us procure the best wine, and make them marvel at it. But let us also display some of our capabilities. The ability to manipulate gravity for something as trivial as a dance, the ability to engulf a room in fireworks without anyone getting harmed because we choose to, the ability to have the best of the best tailors create red carpet clothing, that can also act as armor stronger then platemail. Let us show them that we are not afraid, we will not submit, and we will stand up for ourselves, without giving them an excuse by antagonizing them".

Somewhere in his words, Akio, one of the newest members of the group, had stood up and taken a tone he had never used with them before. He did not talk down to them, nor did he talk up to them. He spoke to them from his honest opinion, respectfully but with a bit of willpower in there. From experience and wisdom, mixed with his own opinion.

The newest member had just taken a step forward, and officially established his presence. Akio sat back down, and took another sip of blood, with a calm smile on his face. And if one paid attention, he had even responded to Dermot's question of food, provided his words had been accepted and agreed with in that section at least.

Remilia Scarlet had been remaining silent in the back for some time now, her eyes closed as she sipped a single cup of tea. More often than not she was a passive observer in the Detente's various events. After all, she had very little to insert. More often than not she watched, packed up, left, and then repeated the cycle. But this time there was someone new about. Someone similar to her in appearance - young on the outside but much older on the inside.

Remilia set down her tea. "Sounds like a lot of resources would be required for something like this...I'm hoping you have the money and manpower backing you to assist in something like this...unless, you expect others to expend their resources on something that expensive." She sat back in her sea, grinning to Akio. "I don't blame you for such grand aspirations, though."

Akio walked through the halls unimpeded, as various objects caught his eye for a moment. Paintings, antiques, and...hold on, was that the Mona Lisa? Whatever. There were a few servants and maids following the (old) young boy, all with various cargo and equipment. Of course, most of his preparations had already been made, but this was just some extra stuff he decided to get after. Eventually, the group came across a large set of double doors. On those doors was a sign, that read "Akio's Lab". Under that, it read "Danger. Do not come in unless invited, volunteering as a test subject, or if its an emergency".

Smiling at his sign, he pushed open the large double doors and entered the lab. He thought it was amusing the Mona Lisa was so close, but was also happy because his room was just a few doors down from the library. This was very convenient for him. Additionally, he even had windows. The room itself was large, massive. But it was also filled. There were multiple desks with scattered papers on it, at least three computers, multiple lab equipment, many of which ran on electricity but some ran on magic, and there was also a Reactor Core powering it all. It had multiple safety functions, and was shielded, but even so one had to wonder where he acquired the damn thing.

The maids and servants moved around and placed some of the cargo. He himself moved the box he was carrying over. If one were to see this room, they might question what era the person came from. There were TVs, video games, DVDs, and various advanced lab equipment and lighting, but there were also old things. The desks looked like they were at least centuries old, and while he had computers he also had a bookcase filled with old tombs and notebooks. He had some futuristic and advanced objects as well, but he also had thinks like beakers, and other such things. He even had a divining rod, some weird skulls with gemstones in them, and curtains that looked very old and vampire like. Also, if one paid attention, the windows were made of a special material that would prevent the sun from bothering him. Akio possessed a rather high resistance to the sun actually, but it was not an immunity. If he stayed in the sunlight for too long, he would die. But simply stepping in it would not turn him to immediate ash.

There were also things that made it more then just a lab. There was a large circular bed in the center, a bed that looked like it could fit seven adults no problem, which was his personal bed. There was also a dresser, and chest, and other bedroom like furniture. He had a rack that had various staffs, wands, and such on it, and also possessed many cloaks. Near the door was a place for people to take their shoes off, since he wanted to avoid getting the floor dirty. He was worried if people cleaned it too much, something would get misplaced or lost and he would never find it.

However, one thing that might stand out about the room was an object that appeared to be a large, walk in freezer. How Akio got it inside the castle could be anyone's guess, but it was labeled something that people could not ignore. It read "Food and Test Subjects. Stealing is punishable by becoming a test subject, death, torture, or all of the mentioned options". If one were to open it, there would even still be people alive, but in a miserable state, shackled and suspected in the air with chains that were made from a metal resistant to everything, including the cold, and would be impossible to break.

"Ahhhh..." Akio said as the maids and servants left, and he kicked off his shoes and flung himself onto a nearby couch. "Home sweet home".

Venlak took his time walking around. But those doors. The daring doors. The doors of daring doors. ~DOOR OF DOORS!~ He was joking in his mind. Why not be drawn in, look around... Have fun? He was tempted. Very. ~I shouldn't... But I want to. I could die. But then again, what could happen? DEATH! Oh well.~ Ven pressed his hand against the door, taking off his shoes. They made squeaky sounds which would give him away. ~One two. One two. One-~ He quietly opened the door, peeking through the slight crack. He noticed the room.

{
There were TVs, video games, DVDs, and various advanced lab equipment and lighting, but there were also old things. The desks looked like they were at least centuries old.
} The old things were what caught Ven's attention. "I haven't seen anything that old in a while." He muttered quietly to himself, getting lost in his thoughts as he looked across.

Ven then saw a bookcase filled with old tombs and notebooks. ~What could be in those notebooks, or what would be on the tombs?~ His mind raced with the possibilities.

Quickly rushing through the door, he closed it almost as soon as he entered. Even if Ven wanted to, he wouldn't be able to notice if anyone was in the room. "I-" He rushed over to the bookcase, speeding through the notebooks. He didn't misplace it. He tried not to anyway. A rack that had various staffs, wands, and such on it, and also possessed many cloaks soon dragged Ven over to it. "So much." He forgot where he was just by getting lost in thought. "So much..." His voice drifted off as he turned to see a room which stood out.

{
Food
} Was the only thing Venlak read before approaching the door. ~What could be behind such a door of mysteries? What lay beyond here?~ Then he read the rest.

{
Test Subjects. Stealing is punishable by becoming a test subject, death, torture, or all of the mentioned options.
}

Now it felt like it was daring him to enter. He wanted to, badly. What would be the state of what's behind here? Why were there test subjects? It plagued his mind too much. He rattled on the door, trying his best not to open the door. It was like a taunt. He wanted to enter, but what if he became a test subject? Or killed?

He'd have to take his chances...

Akio had ended up falling asleep for a bit of a nap, possibly because of his young body even though he could stay awake for a week straight if he wanted to, taking off his pants and just diving into the bed. Normally he would take off more, but he thought someone might knock on his door with news about what he had asked for the party: Dragon Meat, two thousand year old wine, those gummy bears that everyone loves but no one seems to be able to get their hands on, despite the fact they are still being produced. That and much more, so Akio wanted to get some rest, but did not want to have to get completely dressed before answering. And if someone barged in, he would just beat them up and do something or another.

But that did not stop Akio from getting annoyed when he heard someone enter his room and prowl around. This was his room after all. And what if Akio had been sleeping naked? Well, there were the baths, and his body was that of a ten year old physically, but he still disliked this massive breach of privacy! And did this guy forget that vampires tended to have excellent hearing? He could hear the shifting of books, and other such things. As Akio was just getting out of his oversized bed, he then heard something unforgivable...the sound of someone touching the handle of his freezer.

"Initiate Protocol Alpha!"

He shouted the command, and then suddenly two large golems decloaked next to the freezer and surrounded Venlak. But that was not all. Automatic Turrets also appeared from the ceiling, and would target Venlak with pinpoint accuracy. To make it more extreme, Akio himself was now standing inbetween Venlak and the exit. He was still only wearing a T shirt and boxers, but he was also wielding the Wand (Staff) of the God Nightingale. His Golems were also agile and flexible, not to mention accurate themselves. Akio had designed them with the intention of making sure they would not accidentally damage anything.

"Are you an idiot? Did you not read the signs? Who the hell break's into a child's room anyways?!"

Actually, Akio was probably older then the person who broke in. He stopped counting age a long time ago, and only get birthday cakes that had the age he turned at. Of course, he only still celebrated for the cakes and presents. It was the only reason he still remembered the day itself.

"I do hope your ready for punishment!"

Venlak jumped so far his head hit the ceiling. "Oh hey." Ven spun around as he hit the ground. ~Kid? Signs? Child's room?~ Ven stuttered severely. "I- O- I- W- I mean that. I didn't know this was a kids room. Um. Your room?" He found it hard to believe a kid would take interest in such old things. Or any of the things he saw. "I- I can leave." Ven pointed to the door behind Akio. "I mean, I didn't know this room was occupied. Kinda?" He took a tiny step forward, then a tiny step back.

"W-well. I could..." Ven didn't know what to say to the... Kid? He cleared his throat. "We could act like this never happened? Punishment sounds a bit harsh, doesn't it? Maybe a reward for leaving and never returning?" Ven laughed awkwardly as he then looked at the security measures taken. "I was debating whether I would open the big door but I see that I've decided no."

He was trying so hard not to bust out laughing in such a weird situation. The Kid looked like he was gonna kill him but it looked so funny. ~Maybe he's in a forgiving mood? Probably not.~

"I mean, it'd be a shame if I took up your time for the upcoming ball wouldn't it?" Ven soon smiled awkwardly. "You're a smart boy... Man. Guy. Dude. Person. By what you've collected. I myself have quite a large collection of things of old. Maybe we could switch out sometime?"

Venlak ran his hand through his hair, wondering what he got himself into. He couldn't bring himself to ignore temptations to enter a room. But it also seemed that his adventuring days would be over. Why must they end so quickly? Well, not too quickly. He forgot how many places he'd been to so maybe this would be a good end? What could possibly go wrong? Death? It then crossed Ven's mind that this kid might be a sadist. "But we can talk this out. Maybe come to an agreement?" His words were all over the place.

Akio smiled with a rather innocent, childlike smile that one might think he was happy...however, the atmosphere around him was filled with so much bloodlust even professional killers might get overwhelmed. Furthermore, Akio's sheer presence was starting to become overwhelming. So that innocent, childlike smile....could be felt as extremely scary.

"Given what experiences you have, I am going to guess that even though I am a kid, you are at least two to three centuries younger then me...."

Suddenly, out of his staff and every corner of the room, dark tendrils appeared and moved towards Venlak. They also closed the doors and blocked the exits, and the windows and doors themselves became sealed in a magic barrier Akio had developed. It was reinforced too, and had multiple layers. The room was already similarly shielded, but the doors and windows required activation for obvious reasons.

The tendrils would move and try to bind Venlak from being capable of moving on his own, and would drag Venlak towards an experimentation table. If they got him on it, the table itself would then also restrain him, and it was designed to hold things much stronger then vampires. The room itself was already made impenetrable, so the table was also made to hold even gods.

"Now, today we have some choices you see...I was curious if this new organ I developed, an artificial organ that combined technology and magic, would work as I wanted it to. This one will increase your healing ability, and also make you slightly more resistant to the sun. I think. I need to make sure it wont make the user sick though. Oh, oh wait! Why not use you to test out some archaic spell! Or maybe, I could give you a new drug I created to improve vampire resistance, and then force you to remain in the sun to see how effective it is!"

Akio had oh so many lovely ideas. But probably not for Vel. Vel would need to beg just a bit harder, or offer him something, to get him to tone down.

Venlak chuckled quietly. "Come on. What do you want? You have to want something. I mean, I'd like to stay as I am seeing how I can handle the sun perfectly fine." Venlak struggled to get free. "Cookies and ice cream? Something dating back to an ancient war? Something embued with energy that you could never dream up in your wildest dream? I know a guy who knows a guy. I can get that." Ven was pulling out whatever he could. "Something to... PROGRESS your research? Harness energy to block out the sun? I can get this stuff man." The charade which Ven kept up was quite pathetic, to be honest.

~What did Akio want? There had to be something!~ "I can get you a test subject. Someone who'd be willing to go along. Come on! We can sort this out, can't we? I wouldn't have come in here if I saw the warning or whatever it was on the front door. There can't be anything you're looking for huh?"

Venlak paused with his rambling as he thought of something. "Why would you need test subjects... Unless you are still trying to perfect something? I- I mean, like I said before. I can get you a willing test subject. He's pathetic, really. But he can also endure a lot." Ven kept rambling and rambling, he was hoping something he said would catch this Kid's attention. Not that he was scared or anything... He'd just like to keep all of himself intact with nothing placed or tested on him.

"I swear, whatever you're looking for, I can get it. Trust me!" Ven was truly pulling himself deep into his pockets. "What about... Stuff from an entirely different universe? Someplace that doesn't connect with any known universe because it can't? I'm a collector. I can get... collector... Stuff. Things." Ven kept talking he wasn't sure which one of these would get this Kid's attention. "I'm pulling everything I can think of. I mean... I really love the two words; I mean. Anyway, I mean, can't I get you one of these? There has to be one of these things that caught your attention... right?"

"Voyons, laissez-nous voir" Akio spoke, in some rather nice French. "Châtiment....ah, I'm sorry. You don't speak French, do you?"

Akio just gave a wry smile as he came over, while Ven was being held down and was unable to move. "Listen, its unfortunate for you that you happened to be the first person to break into my room. You see, I do have to set an example after all. Now...if it makes you feel better, I won't be cutting you open today!"

This was the first time someone entered his room without invitation, or it being an emergency...well, sometimes some of the maids did to wake him up, but they had received permission to do so. Therefore, Akio had to set an example. That said, he didn't want to risk killing the guy right off the bat either, thought that might be bad for him.

And so, Akio took out a book, drew some blood from Ven, and put it in the book, before placing it back on a nearby table. That was actually a book that let him summon duplicates of whatever he put the blood from into that. It was also Soul-Linked to Akio so only he could use it.

And then, he took out another book and a staff. "I have decided what I am going to do to you. Now, you might have some unpleasant experiences after I test this spell out on you. It has been untested so far, because I need a target for the effect, and of course its hard to get volunteers to test it out on. So thank you for 'Volunteering' for this. Now...."

And then, Akio chanted the spell. "Glaoim ar na biotáillí neamhghnácha, cónaí taobh istigh den duine seo, déan an t-árthach atá i bhfolach air agus gníomhóidh sé leis na mortals, agus lig sé le réimse an duine leis an gcosc seo." (I call upon the unholy spirits, dwell within this one, make him the hidden vessel that will act with the mortals, and let him traverse the realm of man with this cloak of concealment!)

Once the spell did take hold, what would happen is that the target would first feel intense pain and agony, enough that his screams might be heard from anyone in the area. At the same time, his body would appear to change slowly...indeed, although he would still smell of vampire, the magic took away the paleness of the skin, performed some other maintenance, and while it was all very painful, if one was the type of vampire who no longer had a heartbeat like most, they would feel the unpleasant, agonizing experience of their heart beating inside their own chest.

And yet, the vampire fangs were still there, as well as all the abilities. That is the effect shown by anyone who would be hit by this spell. Although any vampire or experienced individual would easily see through it on close inspection, from a distance it would be able to fool even the eldest of vampires.

In other words, the spell was a concealment spell to let vampires have a better chance of hiding among mortals.

Venlak could feel the spell... Concealment... thing... working. Through IMMEASURABLE PAIN AND AGONY. Nothing he wasn't too unfamiliar with due to his days in a war. He struggled and screamed out in the most horrendous pain. "I always did hate little magic books!" Ven tried to grab anything to direct the pain onto. "That's dirty! Doing that to me as I'm withheld!" All through his painful screams too. Although he wasn't unfamiliar with this much pain, it was a long time since he felt such pain.

He felt exhausted. Almost to the point of fainting. If he had something to direct the pain onto, maybe he wouldn't be so exhausted... But that was life. An annoying thorn in his side. But hearing his heart pump like it was in his ears was a feeling he dearly missed. "So I guess this is the best you could do... A concealment type of spell? I've run into something similar but a bit more painful. Just used on the opposite effects of what you got there." And what he meant by opposite was that the book would turn you into a vampire permanently. "I'll be sure not to break into your place again," Ven said before coughing. "I know what could happen to me." His knees got wobbly, causing him to drop down. "It took a bigger toll on me than I expected."

Ven soon after smiled goofily as he looked up at the "Kid". "Don't assume what my experiences are. You'd be surprised at what I can hide and fool people with." He grunted to stand up but failed. "It's nice to see that your research can permit such an outcome though." Then Ven just went silent from exhaustion and talking too much.

  1. That kick wasn't auto hit or godmod or anything, it was previously agreed upon Akio would kick him out of the room afterwards. :)

Akio, who was still smiling, patted him on the back. "Since you were the first, I needed to set an example...well, also you touched my freezer without permission after entering my room without permission, so yeah. Now..."

Akio snapped his fingers, the doors to his lab flung open, and then...

Akio literally kicked him out of the room!

"Next time, I will take your arm. Now, I need to go finish taking my nap. Do keep in mind that you appear mortal in a castle full of vampires right now. Il leave it to you to explain this to them! Try to put me at fault though, and I will remove all your organs next time and replace them with magus tech that might explode!"

Saying that with the expression of a cute, sweet innocent child, Akio smiled at him, before closing the doors...

A rumor would be circulating around the castle later that there were two large doors with a warning sign on it, that absolutely should be respected.

Meanwhile, Akio had just finished taking a nap, had gotten dressed, and was currently expanding his knowledge of the area by doing a bit of exploring...which might explain why he had a flashlight. But in truth, he was wondering if there were any snacks around. He had his own supply of snacks of course, but he wanted to use up the snacks that everyone had access to first.

He had made an example of that first intruder, and made sure the rumors circulated, so everything should be fine.

"Master Akio".

"Maître Akio".

"Akio-sama".

Three maids, of three different nationalities, approached him. He considered just how this might make him look, but he shrugged it off. Unlike those protagonists in web novels, he did not mind being called master.

"Yes, what is it?"

"Master Akio, you should remember to take a bath soon. Its not anywhere close to an issue yet, but wouldn't it be best to prevent it from ever getting close to one?"

"Maître Akio, you no longer need to look for food. As requested, I have once again made you French cuisine to show my appreciation".

"Akio-sama, there is a mortal at the front door".

That last one caught his ear. Mortal, at the front door? Intruder? Bounty Hunter? Someone here for revenge? Whatever it was, it meant fresh blood for Akio. So much so that he made a sharp turn and went straight into the main hall and towards the front doors, swinging them wide open.

"Hello! Did you knock?"

He was a little surprised to find the palest-looking kid ever answer the door. Poor kid looks like he could do with a little Vitamin D, he thought to himself. "Uh, yeah. Sorry to bother you guys so late but it's rainin' cats 'n' dogs out here and was wondering if I could take shelter here?" he asked politely.
