Personality
Personality: Alohi is a very proud and vain woman. She once believed herself to be the finest humans had to offer, but becoming a vampire has soured her disposition. While once she was wild and carefree, dancing and flirting for fun, she now doesn't take the time to even greet those she passes. Her heart is cold and she has stopped caring about anyone else. Scarred by the actions of her sire, she considers him the biggest threat to her continued existence.
Equipment
Special Abilities/Skills: She once wielded elemental magic, but it ebbed from her body as it decayed her. She was turned into a vampire to save her life, and now benefits from the strength, speed, and agility that comes with it.
History
Major Events: On the night of the ninth of August, while she was dancing for a Luau, she was approached by a regular looking tourist who requested a private dance because he was captivated by her. She accepted, being tricked by the compliment, and was taken to the edge of the sea, where the man turned into a elderly Hawaiian. He cursed her to die in sixty days for her vanity, but gave her magic, so she would not feel completely abandoned by her people. He then told her that if by the end of these sixty days, she had not changed her heart, her soul would die with her body and there would be no more second chances. She was then flung into a different world, where she awoke in the morning. After being lightly trained in elemental magic, the curse finally took it's tole on her body, leaving her on her deathbed. A vampire came to devour her, but was convinced to turn her in return for her becoming his possession. He disappeared, however, and she was left to flee her circumstances. No one knows where.
So begins...
Alohi Kalua's Story
Alohi Kalua entered the bar tentatively, her eyes were stuck in a glare as she looked around this odd place. She shook back her hair and practically strutted to the bar, where she tiredly sat down. She was a phantom of herself at the moment. No real idea what was happening, why, or what she should do. Death and magic were the only things on her mind.
Alohi Kalua looked up from her hands to the strange woman made of mist. She glared and looked her over in what could only be described as contempt and confusion before her face tiredly dropped to one of helplessness and she turned back to looking at her hands. "This is insane," she mumbled before glancing at the small bruise on the tip of her finger. This couldn't be happening, not to her!
Alohi Kalua tilted her head and scoffed at the woman before shaking her head. "Insane is when people start shifting from one to the other. Insane is when you're told you can have magic for sixty days before you die! Insane is waking up in this place!" she ranted at the woman, irritated out of her mind. She was always in control, never the one who was dying and helpless in a strange world.
Alohi Kalua glared at the woman for a moment. "Don't act like you know everything. Your type are infuriating," she stated angrily before sighing and letting her helplessness show again. She made a growling noise and poked her bruised fingertip and shuffled in her chair before finally trying to answer the question. "Apparently. I have bad karma or something," she mumbled, still unsure if this was dream or not. Everything seemed real, but that man couldn't just give her a death sentence like that, could he? No.
Alohi Kalua rolled her eyes and quirked a sarcastic brow at Doji. "Yeah, well fate has no right to suddenly decide I should die for having a good life," she mumbled before shaking her head again. "What troubles me is the fact that I'm going to die. And all I get for it is some stupid magic," she replied, growling again. She waved her hand a little, allowing a small flame to spark between her fingertips. She sighed and vanished the flame before looking at her hand in disgust.
Alohi Kalua rolled her eyes again. "Don't go all 'The elements are your gift!' on me to," she groaned, imitating the strange Hawaiian elder from the night before in the middle. "I don't know what the heck I'm doing, just that I can do it, now," she stated before resting her head in her hand.
Alohi Kalua sighed and held up her hands in defeat. "Fine, whatever. Elements then. Whatever floats your boat," she said with a sarcastic smirk. "Whatever you call it, I couldn't do it before and now I can," she stated. She looked with interest as the woman filled her cup and sighed. "Looks like I'm not the only one...Did you get an expiration date with the 'elements', too? Is this place some weird ground for us?" she questioned, grasping at straws to try and understand the situation.
Alohi Kalua tilted her head to the side and shrugged. "I guess you're the lucky one, then," she muttered sarcastically before motioning to Kisa. "Something strong, please." She then turned back to the woman and shook her head with a smirk. "So, you get to become an element. No death involved. How's that for fairness?" she mumbled, somewhat angrily.
Alohi Kalua downed the glass in front of her quickly and shook her head at the test. "How nice for you," she muttered to the woman before standing. "That's it. I can't stand it here, I'm gonna go home. Whatever that means, at this point," she stated harshly before giving a wave to Doji and heading for the door. Sixty days. She wasn't going to waste time here.
Alohi Kalua stopped in her tracks and turned back to the woman slowly. Her face held paranoid disbelief and she looked her over before trying to answer. "Teach me? What would you teach me?" she questioned, her voice tinged with a slight bit of hope. Her eyes darkened and she shook her head. "You don't get it. I'm dying. I don't have a chance to survive, just...to save my soul or something like that," she mumbled quietly. Her soul? Did she really believe that? Maybe. Just maybe.
Alohi Kalua looked the woman over again, disbelief still etched into her features. "Why...why would you help me?" she questioned quietly. Everyone she met hated her and she knew it, so she hated the world back. This woman, however...was she different? "Do you...Do you think that would work? Would teaching me save me?" she added, her voice getting that slight tinge of hope again. She looked down at her hands and a small flame was between her fingertips. "Please teach me," she stated, it sounded like an order, but in her mind it was pleading.
Alohi Kalua let her face relax slightly from it's ever-present glare and she gave a bow. "Thank you," she stated, though it still sounded rough. She sighed again and looked the woman over. "There's nothing after me. It's here," she stated holding up her bruised finger. "It'll spread and kill me in sixty days, at least, that's what the crazy elder said," she stated, rolling her eyes somewhat. She looked at the bar and then back at the woman. "I don't care. I'll start whenever, I guess," she mumbled.
Alohi Kalua took Doji's hand tentatively and followed her. She was slightly surprised at the warmth of her hand, she had expected a moist, cold half-feeling to be there, not a regular hand. She followed her to the table and sat, resting her head in her hand. "So...what do I do now?" she questioned, a immature tone still to her voice. She wasn't used to relying on anyone, and it made her feel horribly odd.
Alohi Kalua looked down at Doji's hands and then looked at her own, a small fire appearing between her fingertips. She focused on it for a moment before slowly bringing her gaze back up to Doji's and though the flame flickered, it stayed. She nodded to the woman. "Okay," she stated simply.
Alohi Kalua blinked and closed her eyes, her face scrunching up in obvious effort. She tried to clear her mind, but the more she tried, the more she began to wrestle with fear of death, anger, and her own confusion. She bit her lip and the flame flickered violently before she let out a frustrated grunt and the flame disappeared. She opened her eyes and rolled them frustratingly. "Well, that was stupid," she stated, angry with herself.
Alohi Kalua looked at the woman and nodded slightly before staring at her hands again. She didn't call another flame, she was staring at the bruised fingertip. "Yeah, I guess. But I'm not afraid. I just don't like it," she stated, weakly defending herself. "How do you get this thing taken away, then? The shadowstain or whatever," she questioned, a slight anger in her tone.
Alohi Kalua frowned and looked at Doji's hand on hers. She wasn't used to such care from a stranger. "Right...Where do you even find a person like that...Wait, I don't even know your name," she mumbled aloud, going through her internal train of thought. She shrugged and looked around, as if searching for a healer. "I'm Alohi Kalua," she stated in an off-handed manner, trying to seem uninterested.
Alohi Kalua tilted her head and quirked an eyebrow in Doji's direction. "Yeah, been a tough night, if you couldn't tell," she replied sarcastically before blinking sleepily again and looking around the bar. How were you supposed to tell if someone was a healer or not? Everyone looked so strange, foreign. She sighed and nodded again. "Is there somewhere I can sleep or something?"
Alohi Kalua nodded and stood. "Take me there? I haven't slept in forever it feels like," she stated before moving to go upstairs, whether Doji led the way or not. She would quickly fall asleep when she got to the room, being dead tired.
The setting changes from Gambit's Bar to Gambit's Hotel, 3rd Floor
Alohi Kalua stumbled over to the bed on the left and curled up on her side. She closed her eyes and was out almost immediately, the worries of her life fading as her dreams took her.
