However, he does seem to have some small shred of humanity left in him. Vladimar also has a very big ego, and frequently taunts his opponents. However, because of this arrogance, he can sometimes be taken by surprised. Underneath this attitude, Vladimar seems deeply sad and envious of humans, because they are blessed with the gift of death. He regrets his decision to become an immortal. Also, Vladimar holds high esteem for humans who take pride in themselves. He respects humans that show bravery. In contrast, he despises most other vampires because they seem to kill without cause. Alucard is not entirely against immortality. Rather, he believes it is something to be earned.

Alucard's Story

In the corner of the infamous bar sat a lone figure. He was clad in a classic Victorian style charcoal suit, leather riding boots, a flamboyant, intricately knotted red cravat, a blood-red duster, and a matching crimson fedora with a wide floppy rim. A pair of circular, tinted, wire-framed auburn shades. Two white gloves gripped his hands. One lightly held a wine glass filled with a deep red liquid. The figure scanned the other tenants with mild interest. There was an aura of confidence about him that set him apart from an average man.

"It is a fine night tonight..." he thought to himself.

The man lifted the wine glass and took a sip of the red liquid. It slowly flowed down the wall of the glass and into his mouth. He set it down on the table with a soft clack. Some of the red liquid trickled down his chin.

His lips peeled back in a wicked grin.

As the large group of humans entered the pub, the man clad in the blood-red trench coat, crimson fedora, and auburn shades eyed each one of them carefully. He traced his gloved finger over the lip of his wine glass and smirked. Perhaps he could have some fun tonight...

Of course, he had noticed Brian's lucrative scent, but unlike some incompetent vampires, Alucard at least had some self discipline.

"Yup... Pretty much!" the vampire said telepathically into Brian's mind. Yes, he was in fact that bored! Why was it that humans never truly enjoyed their mortality? He never really understood them...

Alucard grinned from across the pub. "That's the thing about immortality, isn't it? Gives us a superfluous sense of security..."

The vampire now sat two stools away from Brian. His legs were crossed at his ankles and his hands clasped together with their thumbs twiddling. Long raven black hair fell to his jawline. At the moment, his auburn shades had fallen to his nose, revealing the blood-red eyes with cat-like pupils behind them. Alucard gave him a wicked grin, revealing a row of sharp teeth.

"Nothing right now..." he said with a voice that was a mishmash of European accents. "I mean, I have just fed... and I do not usually feed off of a living being unless there is another motive behind it. Unlike many of those reckless kids that scurry along the streets nowadays, I have a sense of self-restraint!"

"Some of these new so-called vampires really disgust me..." he grumbled as he tapped his gloved finger on the counter. "They run rampant through the streets, killing without cause, while some even sparkle! Back in my day, a vampire had class!" the last statement bore some irony, considering the man bore the appearance of someone in his twenties or thirties.

"It is also the reason I have been spending the last hundred years or so trying to weed out these wannabe's..." he said before wiping out a long black pistol. The weapon was massive - almost too massive for a normal human to carry effectively. Engraved in the side were the words Jesus Christ is in Heaven Now.

"This baby fires thirteen-millimeter bullets encased in blessed Macedonian silver and tipped with a mercury-ignition charge." he spun it once before returning it to its place beneath his trench-coat. Alucard grinned. "Enough to bring down almost any undead."

"It was originally designed to bring down a certain fella' with regeneration powers, but it has worked well with almost everything else. And yes, it has in fact done just that!" he chuckled darkly.

After glancing from the clock, Brian would find the man mysteriously missing from the stool. A dark chuckle emanated from the shadows where several demonic eyes blinked in and out of existence as they observed the demigod.

"Go right ahead... Hehehehehe" the voice chuckled before it and the eyes faded into the darkness.

His lips peeled back in a wicked grin as a scent was caught in his nostrils. A fledgling. Not an average one though. This one was different... Interesting.

"Lookin' for something, boy?" Alucard said to Dean calmly while tracing the rim of the glass with the tip of his gloved finger. His voice bore a mishmash of European accents. It was then that the elder vampire's sensitive ears twitched at the sound of metal against wood. His crimson eyes watched the other man curiously through the auburn shades. A large wicked grin spread across his mouth.

A moment passed while Alucard attempted to read the man's mind. "It's an acquired taste..." he finally said. Though, it was ambiguous as to which beverage he was referring to.

"Depends... why should I help you?" the man said to the hybrid before returning his attention to the detective. "My name?..." he chuckled darkly. "I have been called many things, but my most recent alias is Alucard. I guess you could call me a hit man, or a bounty hunter, for a very... specific... demographic." Alucard grinned. He had a good guess at what this human was up to. Perhaps this night would have some excitement after all.

"...They were Terran citizens."

"Mhm..."

"You're under arrest..."

"Neat..."

"Draggin' you outa' here in a body bag."

"Good luck with that..."

Clearly, this was a game to him. He grinned maliciously at the detective and performed a beckoning gesture with one of his gloved hands. Alucard clearly saw the guns, but like that would do anything to him! He returned his attention to Dean for a moment. "Really... How do you fair with getting your head blown off?"

Before Randin even completed the motion from the counter to his holster, Alucard's gloved hands dove deep into his blood-red trench-coat. Two enormous pistols were trained at the two police officers. They were far too large for a normal human to wield effectively. One was a silverish hue with an abnormally long barrel. Engraved into the side were the words Hellsing 454 Casull AUTO. The other gun was black and even larger. Engraved across its barrel was Jesus Christ is in Heaven Now, a mockery of an old adversary from long ago.

Alucard bore an almost psychotic grin.

"Sounds fun..." he said mockingly before releasing a dark cackle. "Come at me bro!"

"Oh what fun!" he cackled maniacally. "You know... I have never been hit by a disruptor... I've been skewered by spears, shot to bits by a couple hundred rounds of explosive armor-penetrating bullets, but not singed my a disruptor!" he clicked back the hammers of his pistols. He of course didn't need the guns to kill them per say. Alucard just enjoyed using human weapons... His auburn shades slipped down his nose a bit, revealing blood-red eyes with cat-like pupils beneath the crimson fedora.

Without breaking his unnerving grin, Alucard suddenly vanished in a blur of red, dodging the ant-magic wave and her tackle completely - reappearing behind her. The explosion from the boy's rocket, on the other hand, sent some shrapnel into his arms. He did not even flinch as the metal was pushed out within seconds - thanks to his regeneration.

Both pistols opened fire on their respective targets with a barrage of custom-made rounds. Some exploded after penetration, causing tables and chairs to splinter. From the Casull emerged .454 explosive steel bullets with blessed silver cores, while the black Jackal spat thirteen-millimeter bullets encased in blessed Macedonian silver with mercury-ignition charged tips.

Alucard frowned at the lumps of metal that were once his guns. "Really? Come on... I actually liked those things." The elder vampire barely batted an eye against the anti-magic pulse. After all, the majority of his powers were still locked away. Where they even magical to begin with? He never even thought about it...

He grinned again after his arm literally tore from his body. Blood poured down the crimson trench-coat. "Hehehehahahaha! Yes... Excellent! I haven't had this much fun in ages! Hahahahahahehehe..." he cackled before glaring at Marlene with his demonic eyes. "What did you say your name was again?"

"Marlene Angel... It is clear that your power exceeds that of the average human." he said calmly in almost admiration as the bone, sinews, muscle tissue, and skin regrew to replace the lost limb. Even the clothing was renewed. Alucard lifted his hands, and the pentagramic rune across his glove began to glow. "Release Control Art Restriction Systems Three... Two... One..." Immediately, the room became unnaturally dark as the shadows grew, multiplied, and consumed the light. "...Approval of Situation A recognized..." The elder vampire lifted his hands in trident gestures and formed a frame around his eye as it gazed at Marlene's very soul. "...Commencing the Cromwell Invocation. Ability restrictions lifted for limited use until the enemy has been rendered silent."

Throughout the darkness, hundreds of demonic unblinking eyes materialized in and out of existence. They were a pale yellow with blood-red irises and pupils black as the Abyss. As one, the watched the police officer with a murderous gaze. The eyes appeared all across Alucard's form as he transformed into a creature of living darkness. His eyes were glowing red and his smile malevolent.

"Now, Dean Mordskul... It is time to show you how a real vampire does battle!" he cackled. From the raw unbridled darkness that created the vampire's form emerged the visage of a satanic hell hound with a thousand ghoulish eyes. Acid-like spittle dripped from its maw as it glared at Marlene with a ravenous hunger.

"You call upon powers that I once served..." he chuckled darkly as his grin remained. "Powers that abandoned both my underlings and myself." the hell hound sneered and growled - blinking its many eyes. "I will not be brought down by a mere immortal!" he laughed as the daknress slowly seceded. "You know... There is much irony in this, because for a hundred years I had served Man in its mission from God. The Bird of Hermes is my name; eating my wings to make me tame. In the name of God, impure souls of the living dead shall be banished into eternal damnation. Amen." he recited the prayer of the long lost Hellsing Organization, in an almost tongue-in-cheek tone, as he drifted out the door and into the night.

As the carnage intensified, the hair-raising echo of a dark cackle shuddered throughout the room. It was a laugh of sadistic glee - a laugh that made the shadows themselves shudder.

A blur of blood-red and ebony black darted through the carnage and the remaining demons. In a spray of fiery gore, their bodies parted before the mysterious being. Limbs, heads, and torsos severed cleanly and abruptly. Heads tore from their shoulders and the demonic blood soaked the floor. Nearly two dozen of the fel creatures collapsed from the sudden yet brutal onslaught.

Standing amongst the carnage was a single tall slender man. His limbs were long and bloodied. Long raven black hair swayed behind him. A torn black straight jacket - dyed crimson - covered his body. Blood-red eyes glimmered with sadistic satisfaction. Gripped in his clawed gloved hand was the severed head of a shadow demon. It's vile blood poured into the man's eager mouth, which was twisted into a grin of insanity - revealing a set of sharp teeth with two elongated fangs.

The mysterious (not to mention psychopathic) vampire casually tossed aside the demon skull and licked his pale lips clean with an almost absurdly long tongue. He cocked his head and grinned at Sirad. His cat-like pupils dilated slightly in recognition of the woman.

"Ahhh..." he finally said with a voice that bore a mishmash of European accent. "It's been awhile since we last seen each other - and awhile since I have had such a large feast."

"Please, in this era I am referred to as Alucard... Consider it a change of lifestyle... Somewhat!" he cackled darkly as he observed the carnage around him. "And what may I call you this time around? Hmm?" he raised an eyebrow.
