Casper

The nimble life support technician who is actually an alien entity, or rather a Host body to an alien entity which resides in the mind of human bodies like a parasite.

314 views · last seen in Gambit's Bar
a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by Guest, as played by Prose

Description

Casper stands at five-feet, eleven-inches, not quite reaching that six-foot mark. His weight is one-hundred, ninety-five standards(lbs). The man's hair is usually spiked up in dangerous peaks, which make him seem a bit aloof and different. As with other occupants of Altas XI (a long-range Dimensional Outer-System Fortress), Casper's skin is quite pale too. His usual garb is a white jump suit, with a high collar that reaches almost to his jawline. The man is just partial to white period, but that just may be a technician habit.

The Alien Entity, Sleepers
Found on the planet Triton, these creatures are extremely small and bacterial parasitic alien which need a human host to survive outside their home planet. Insertion into other species has been experimented with but unsuccessful thus far. It acts as a second conscious, and intelligence, even taking over the host body at times in order to fulfill its own worldly desires, whatever those may be. Being a host to Sleepers, usually goes completely unknown by the host. They will generally suffer from:

•Memory Loss
•Black Outs
•Loss of Appetite
•Insomnia
•Physical Weakness
•Psychosis
•Unexplained Suicide
•Low White Blood Cell Count
•Unexplained Weight Loss/Gain
•Unexplained Mood Changes
•Headaches

Personality

Casper can be quite the delightful fellow to meet, that is if you like a womanizing girlie man. He attempts to desperately to seem as suave and smooth as the other seducers, but the man just fails horribly. And as if it helped, Monika doesn't make it any better for him either when she is around. Strange and odd relationship those two have. On the outside it seems that they are a couple and have been for quite sometime, but it is only Casper that is in love with Monika. And it's dire. It is the sole reason behind while he tries so eagerly to find another woman, because it would get those thoughts of his "boss" out of his head. Dating someone you have a professional relationship with is a no-no on the Altas, and forbidden.

Despite all that, you can expect tragically hysterical moments from the man, which are all by accident. Casper never tries to be funny at all, for he is quite the serious person even if it doesn't look it. And there are moments, rare, that he is actually terribly hostile towards any and all people. However, this is not really Casper but the Sleeper inside his skull gaining full control over his emotions and his body; technically his brain. Still though, he's as harmless as can be despite the temper for even if invaded by some alien entity that's no better than a virus, he is still human in biology.

History

2063, America is no longer a world power yet still struggling to regain what has been lost for fifty years now. China has overtaken the Earth as the new super power; military, economically, and politically. Nuclear weapons are being mass forged in order to maintain this position over the world, while American and European scientists of Specialized Genetics, Metova Corporation are secretly meeting in the wastelands of the freezing Arctic in order to develop a genetically selective biological virus. They are successful after twenty years of mutating and bending the very laws of creation, in order to preserve the pride they all once had as Super Nations. The laboratory is infiltrated however, by Chinese spies, and the virus is incomplete before it is apprehended. To punish European and American states and provinces, the Chinese drop four nuclear weapons in order to maintain their worldly position. Crops die, the sky darkens with ash, people begin to die from radiation poisoning. The world as they knew it then was dying and it seemed as if the end was near, but not because of the nuclear fallout. Four years after the Chinese had taken the EX-5249 virus, uncompleted and still in the testing stages, they attempted to warp it from their own genetics to the other races.

God had become Human

In a laboratory spill, the virus was unleashed, allowing it to spread rapidly. The Chinese were foolish enough to believe that only their bloodline would be immune to the EX-5249 virus. They were wrong. They were the first to die the slow and gruesome, painful, decay that the virus exacted on its victims. Soon enough the entire Asian Nation was destroyed, while EX-5249 crept towards the European Nations. With the world in complete chaos, Australia had closed it borders indefinitely, always remaining a neutral party to all wars since the last and final Afghanistan War (they had finally developed a suitable army and had made treaty with America to tip the scale). White, Black, Yellow, Reds ... no matter the skin color, they all began to fall to EX-5249, yet a few handful of scientists and military officials, along with a good portion of the more "reputable" civilians, who had survived the previous fallout, were allowed in the isolated island of Australia. There ships were taken to Earth's moon where a secret and underground station had been built for such an Apocalypse by surprisingly, the Canadians.

Project Altas was originally called Project Atlas, after the Greek Mythological God who carried the World upon his back, but after the mispronunciation of it during a HoloCom conference by Dr. Arostimi Tcheva of AH Global Cybernetics, induced the change to Altas. While under the protection and security that the Moon's surface had to offer, another mass ship was being built, Altas in order to find a new Earth to begin life over and anew. It took two hundred years in order to complete the first stage of the project; building the ship. Another twenty was needed in order to properly stock it with the necessary survival means along with genetic codes and embryos to transport animals' and bacterial DNA to the new earth. And while the Earth's crust turned brown and then black beneath its only natural satellite, Luna, the descendants of those that had survived two hundred and twenty years ago, fled into Outer Space in order to seek out a new home.

Triton, New Earth was found fourteen generations later tucked away in the very back of the Kohrii system, so very far away from human's original home. Native Flora and Fauna flourished without intelligent life upon the lush and beautiful blue planet. Where Earth was green, Triton was blue, thus its namesake from Poseidon's famous three-pronged pike; the prongs representing the three continents it held. It was Eden, and Paradise found; Utopia finally grasped. Altas, landed upon the welcoming bosom of Triton and settled in easily to make colonies that held no prejudice nor hate for color of skin or ethnic backgrounds of the people. In two generations, there would only be one race: Altan. They prospered and lived in total, balanced peace after learning a great lesson from the intense history education received on the Altas.

However, Forty-Two Earth years later (Twenty-Two Triton years), a lurking parasite had finally reared up to show its terrifying face. Sleepers, it was named as the foreign and advanced biological make up of these bacterial like creatures struck without being noticed. Those that were afflicted and deemed as suitable host bodies by Sleepers did not know they were invaded and captured by the entity. It gave more reason and cause to their name. Altans who succumbed to the control of Sleepers murdered, raped, and committed suicide without a single notice. Mother, Child, Husband, it did not matter who was chosen by the alien, they would indulge in these horrible crimes, shattering the once-perfect Utopia. A portion of the population boarded Altas XI, and left Triton behind, not wanting to fall victim and be mercilessly tortured by watching all they cared for be ripped to shreds before their very innocent eyes.

They made way back to the Sol System and found Terra.

So begins...

Casper tucked his ComDev into his jumper pocket while striding all too confidently into the room, the door closing behind him naturally and with little sound. His entrance would hardly be regarded at all and perhaps not noticed completely. It mattered not to him though, as Casper was here for relaxation and to spend a little time to himself insides of being cramped up on Atlas, after its arrival on Terra. Arriving at the bar, the man stopped before taking a seat and peered at the choices of beverage that were available.

Casper turned his gaze to Sally Wright and nodded a single dip of his head. "Well, I am rather new to this planetary system, and this planet all together. What is available for humans? I seem to notice there are quite the, how to say, range of beings here. I would not want to consume something not meant for my own species," Casper said to the woman while taking a stool as his seat for the evening.

Casper smiled at the lovely barmaid while taking his eyes to the menu again to scout for a good drink. But that was hastily interrupted as a woman kicked open the door, drawing Casper's attention. He looked over his shoulder and noticed Abel Wraith, which caused brows to raise. She dressed just as badly as that ComTech Monika. The thought made him chuckle, and Casper returned back to his previous thought process of choosing a drink. Something a bit fruity sounded good.

Casper picked up the menu in his hands, and a frown would touch his face for a moment. The small frown grew larger though, deepening and contorting his otherwise almost good looks. Those hands started to shake and crumple the laminated page while fury boiled inside the man. "Where is my damn drink! I wanted a drink," Casper shouted out uncontrollably. Sweat popped up in small beads along his forehead, and the man was breathing rather irregularly. Casper seemed to be having some sort of episode or, maybe the man was truly an arsehole. No one knew him here, so it was indeterminable.

Casper glared something quite hateful at the woman, Sally Wright, while tossing the menu towards her face in a blatant and disrespectful action. "I wanted a goddamned drink and you walked off to serve other patrons. Is this what you call good customer service?! I have been traveling through this damn Sol System for years now and I can't even get a damn drink!?" Slamming his palms down on the counter top, Casper rose from his seat and leaned over the counter towards Sally, as if going to spew more angered words at her before another person had approached him. It forced Casper to pause for a moment.

Casper found himself staring at Briena Erani Skysong for a long moment while his chest still heaved in fury. A hand raised as if the man were going to strike the woman, but it was halted as Sally Wright went on her little tirade in retaliation against Casper. "Don't you dare walk away from m-"

"Whoa whoa whoa there Cas," a woman with brilliant and shockingly loud red hair caught his arm, and held as tight as her little frame could to him. She had entered rather discreetly and in good time too! Casper would never hit a woman truly. He was probably having another of his episodes that were growing in frequency. "Now, now, Cas, let's settle down, eh?"

"Monika," the man stated before calming and nodding his head once. It was strange that the cancer-ridden woman could control his mood swings so easily. Perhaps the entity within Casper's mind had taken a liking to the woman from all their time forced together upon the Altas.

Casper was so excited, he practically ran into the door, having used the wrong one. Altans didn't read normal English letters as did most creatures, but they understood the language. For Altans, the symbols for verbal nuances had merely changed it all, so it was no wonder why Casper did not see the little sign that said "Pull". A groan came from the man while he held his nose, and pushed against the other door. Having automated door on Altas was so nice, why couldn't they install them here? Or maybe it was too advanced for this planet's technology?

Still holding his nose, he saw Monika through watery eyes, and asked her, "Did you see the HoloCom report?"
"Sure did, just now. What do you think of it, Cas?"
"I think my fuckin' nose really hurts..."

Casper took a seat while looking at Anne Noble, a rather aged looking woman who was near them, before speaking again to Monika, "I don't know why I didn't pay more attention in Old Earth History".
"Would have saved you a headache, eh," Monika replied while still looming her eyes on the HoloCom.
"I may or may not have broken something..."

The centipede that was making its way towards them, however large, was unnoticed thus far.

Casper continued to drag Monika along with him while she cried in utter horror and pain. Crimson seeped through the blue of her jumpsuit, as the woman bled out from the wound. It was not so bad, but being as sick as the woman was, Monika didn't feel pain as did others.

"She doesn't need... what the hell, juice is not good for her right now. Monika talk to m-"
"Shut up Cas, please..." the woman said before going back to crying over the wound and holding it.

When a man approached, Ben 'Mouse', Casper frowned up at him while cradling Monika's body against his chest. They just did not know how fragile the woman was, not at all. But he did. "Hey hey! What are you doing asshole," Casper snapped as Bed began to treat Monika's wound. Those dark brows of his drew downwards dangerously. It wasn't fair that someone could help her so easily, when he couldn't. All he could do was thread his fingers through her hair and keep his dear friend calm.

Casper still held to Monika protectively even though the scrawny man could hardly do anything if violence broke out. "We don't need your help. You've no idea of her condition, and anything that your alien technology can do may harm her even more. So fuck off!"

Casper slid his hands beneath her knees and prepared to pick the woman up while she continued to cringe in pain and not pay attention to the argument going on. "None of you damn business," Casper said while rising with some difficulty. It wasn't too bad when he stood because Monika hardly weighed a lot from the cancer that ate away at her bones.

Casper took a single step towards the door but he soon paused as the arms that had wrapped around his neck had gone limp and the face which was tucked against his neck had tumbled backwards. The man's knees buckled slightly as Monika went completely limp suddenly, nothing but dead weight in his arms. "M-fuck fuck shit!" Casper grunted while holding an unconscious woman in his arms, and hardly the strength to move at all. His heart was tearing into pieces in this moment. He cared a great deal for this woman, but she could possibly be dying right in his arms. "I need a fucking doctor!" Casper was shedding tears, as ... he was a real man, and not some emotionless creature that pretended to feel.

Casper started to lose his grip on the woman, his face contorting in anger and desperation. Was no one going to help him with Monika? A sick woman who was starting to bleed again, who had an incurable disease? "Please... someone help us... " He couldn't hold her any longer, and was forced to settled her body upon the table nearest them both. Monika remained quite lifeless, and unconscious, though a pulse was to be found and the woman did breath. The Altan man, skimmed a glance over her body and applied pressure to the bleeding wound with both of his hands. Something in that foam medicine had screwed with Monika, and it was terrifying Casper.

Casper watched with hateful eyes as Devi Oswald made her way towards Monika and himself. That natural and defensive instinct flared up in the man again, and Casper moved to swat the woman away from the ComTech. "Don't touch her!" Even if the Altan did move, he was not about to release the pressure upon the wound to allow it to bleed anymore. It was bad enough that her white blood cells did not react properly and clot open lacerations or punctures as did normal humans. Nothing but crimson seeped through Casper's fingers now as well as drench the blue of her jumpsuit.

Monika herself, did indeed stabilize internally, but it would do nothing for the bleeding wound on her leg. For now, she remained unconscious and unwilling to regain it subconsciously. Pain ... the woman had had enough of it throughout life already.

Casper felt like a trapped animal suddenly being surrounded by lions. Not that he had ever seen a lion personally, but Casper had heard stories before on the Altas XI. "Don't hurt her!" The magic Briena Erani Skysong used was not received by Monika as Altans were wired differently than just normal human beings, yet human all the same still. Altans were not receptacle to large doses of magic, period. "No, no more help. I just need transportation to the Altan. I can't carry her ... I'm ..." Casper did not finish his words but just stared down at his hands. Desperately he tried to recall the medical first aid training course that he had taken in order to become a MedTech. But that's what he was, a MedTech and not a doctor.

Casper was not about to release his death-grip hold on Monika's leg. "I just need... transportation..." This was the result of someone helping them out, using that medical crap in order to make her feel better. But no, he didn't consider that it would inflict even more damage on the woman, and force Monika into her current state. Casper was not about to let that happen again. Though even through all this irrational thought, the tourniquet was harmless enough, even though leaving it on for a prolonged amount of time would cause nerves to start deteriorating. "Just transportation..."

Casper clenched his jaw tightly while never taking his eyes off of Monika's fragile body. Why did it have to be her? "Forget it..." He would do it all on her own. Casper would traverse the entire length of the city while carrying four Monika's if he had to do so in order to get her the proper medical attention. Hands slick with crimson fluid, Casper finally release the wound which bubbled more blood out on the table. Sliding his hands underneath Monika's shoulders and the other beneath her knees, Casper lifted her with a grunt of exertion. "I will take care of her myself. Fuck all of you..." And with great difficulty, the man was headed towards the door with a very limp and unconscious woman in his arms. If anything, it was rather suspicious looking. As if he were trying to dump a dead body off somewhere.

Casper leaned in towards Monika suddenly feeling as if something were watching him. "Monika, did you hear that...?" The woman groaned and rolled her eyes while picking up the menu for drinks and such. "Really Cas, I don't want to hear your wild theories right now. Someone just walked through the door is all," she replied while the man shook his head. "No. Monika. Really. That door just opened and closed before the girl walked in. I swear it! Those old stories about ghosts are true! I am telling you!"

Monika had stopped listening to him a long time ago. Never get Casper started on suspicions and ghosts...

Yep. Tall, massive, scary beast thing that seemed as if it came from Triton itself. Time to go. Without any further ado, Casper grabbed a hold of Monika and started to shove her towards the door of the bar. When she stared to give protest, he bent down and yanked her up by the knees and over his shoulder. Sure it was hard to stand against with an extra hundred pounds or so added to his scrawny legs. But the adrenalin in him was enough to give him that extra helping hand. He was not about to let Monika almost die again in this place.

"Put.me.down."
"Nope." And then they were gone, having walked away from Absinthe without a second word, but surely she would know why they left?

Casper was on the other side of the bar, watching Monika almost like an angry stalker would. Fine. He would show her the cold shoulder! With the inner monologue that Casper was saying to himself, the man wanted to raise his victorious revengeful fist and pump it a few times with a war cry.

But he didn't. Most likely because of the lovely barmaid that had appeared once again.

Casper protested immediately, or would have if he was not grinning so stupidly from the small little wink that was given to him. Monika was the first to speak up, "We're not a couple. We just work together actually," she said the same time that Casper spoke," Don't mind her mood. The woman's just bitter because she got hit in the head with a bottle. That and, well, she knows I'm attractive and can't stop the ladies from hitting on me, isn't that right?"
"You're an idiot..."

It put a frown on his face, and Casper just watched Monika scoot down the bar counter away from him more.

Casper was attempting to have all this sink in. How brutal this beautiful woman could be! It excited him, and angered the man all at the same time. He could have cried. But he didn't.
"Oh, hello," Monika said to Absinthe with a smile. "Don't mind him. He's just a tit".
"I am not a tit!"
"See what I mean?"
