Castiel Treetopper

The Condemned One

0 · 51 views · located in Wing City

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Midnightclub

Description

Standing at a towering 2'7'' and weighing a massive 33lbs, Castiel is not the most impressive creature around. Even for a Halfling he was incredibly short. This has never fazed him, however. He knows that from a tree, he can look down on any man. He is 35 and though this means he has just recently become an adult, the scars on his body tell of many years of skirmishes and battles, if not some time of torture throughout his past. He has jet black hair and eyes as black as coal, his skin is fairly tan. He is well muscled and looks like a very short and yet well-proportioned adult. He has a tattoo of a tree on his back, the roots spiral down his legs while the branches spiral his neck and his arms. Once green and brown, the tree and its roots and branches have been dyed black because of his mourning.

Personality

Moody and rash are two great words to describe Castiel. He prefers to talk with his surprisingly powerful fists than with his words. He is usually quiet and brooding and he has a hard, stoic face that he shows to the world. But underneath this hard outer shell is a man who is in constant mourning. He often cries himself to sleep at night because of the lost loved ones he misses so dearly. If someone somehow got to know him they would find a kind and gentle hearted man who would give up his life to save those in need. Make no mistakes, however, this man does not take well to authority. He does what he wants when he wants.

Equipment

Castiel usually travels light, but light for him is much different than light for normal humans. He wears his studded leather armor and has a backback with rope and a few bits of food. He also has a cloak for when it gets cold and he has his weapons.

He has his compound bow and several types of different arrows. Some examples of arrows that he has are ones enchanted with elemental magic. Others are barbed for hunting, and even others are poisoned.

He also has his sword. Fates Chosen is a very special sword. It is black on one side of the blade and almost chrome on the other. The Golden handle has a handguard shaped like two snakes each with blue gems in their mouths. The end of the handle is shaped like a lion with a red gem in its mouth. This sword allows him to smite both good and evil, using either holy or unholy magic to do extra damage to those he fights because of their allignment. He can tell who is good or evil beforehand because the sword shows him their auras. The sword may or may not speak to him at times.

Other than the things he carries, he also has several abilities and spells. He can talk to trees and take working arrows out of them. He can use trees as his weapons and if he is near a tree, he becomes almost impossible to hit as if the tree itself is trying to protect him. He has his hawk, named Arrow, who attacks with piercing claws and talons whom he can speak to mentally. He can also calm animals and he can cause plants to grow and ensnare his prey. He can see fairly well in low light and in complete darkness.

History

Once in his life, Castiel was a simple guard with his parents. They would help merchants and others get safely from town to town. After they got paid they would share the wealth with their clan and then they would hunt for the clan. The rest of the clan made their weapons and armor, taght their children and gathered or farmed their other types of food. This kind of life led all to share and all were basically friends or better with eachother. In this clan was Castiel's lover and soul mate. He had been planning to join with her in marriage and after one hunt he came back with a ring.

What he saw shook his life forever. His entire clan was burning to the ground. All of the people he'd known and loved were dead. He mourned for years until he learned what had done the deed. There were small lizard-men who lived in caves near his home. These Kobolds had mercilessly destroyed his home and killed his soulmate. He sought them out and hunted the nearby Kolbolds to extinction. Then he left to find more of these creatures to kill. That would be his life for a long time.

After awhile he began to have dreams. In these dreams a large red man with feathery wings called him the Condemned One. He was the one who could change the world for better or worse. It was in these dreams that he gained Fates Chosen. He has been wandering ever since.

So begins...

Castiel Treetopper walked into the bar right towards Rau. He didn't look up, not noticing the man in front of him. He was just sulking about all of the odd dreams he'd been having lately. Then there was the sword that talked in his mind, he'd thought he was going crazy. Guess not.

Castiel Treetopper Staggered backwards as the much larger man ran out past him, stopping him from running into the wall of muscle in front of him. "Already getting pushed around...Is that a, a dragon?" He asked, finally noticing everything that was going on around him. He quick drew his bow and selected a fire arrow from his arsenal. He checked everyone's aura's for good or evil with a quick blink of his eyes.

Jumped back from his position by The Wall, and lowered his bow in surprise as he shot red energy from his hand. He blinked and saw the red outlining of Rau's aura. He looked at the dragon summoner and saw a blue outline. The dwarf with, rabbit ears?, did not seem to have an aura. Castiel stepped back, hoping his small size would allow him not to be seen. He sheathed his bow and arrow and drew Fates Chosen. What do you think about this one you magic piece of crap? He mentally asked the sword.

BloodThe sword stated simply. Then the man with the gun walked.

Castiel Treetopper jumped through the trees in the woods as Arrow his hawk flew as best it could with him between the branches. He stayed away from the road and remained completely silent as he searched for the prey that he'd been hunting. He would not let this deer get away.

Castiel Treetopper heard crying and stopped on a limb. He looked down and saw a girl crying and whimpering. He sighed and sheathed his bow and arrow. Stay He comanded his hawk. He jumped from the tree and landed softly behind the girl. He wasn't sure if this was some sort of trick, they didn't call this the Dark nwoods for nothing. He drew his sword and blinked checking to see if the creature before him was good or evil.

Castiel Treetopper awkwardly patted her head and looked around nervously for whatever danger the trees had warned about. He heard a growl and saw three wolves stalk into the clearing. He couldn't calm all three of them at once. He would have to kill them, great. "Get behind me, we've got trouble." Cass said as he drew his bow and notched a barbed arrow.

Castiel Treetopper thought hard for a second and nwhispered to the tree. The leaves rustled and he touched a glowing green hand to the bark. The tree graned and snapped in different places as it bent towards the ground. They were now close enough to step off. He did so and reached his hand to the girl. "C'mon, before the tree goes back up high."

There was a tunnel affect as Cass opened his eyes. They cleared to the sight of that poor little girl, Mimi trying to wake him up. "Wha?" He said, his head still throbbing slightly. It had sounded like she said, 'Kill them all. Give me blood.' But that couldn't be right, could it? She was just an innocent little girl...

Castiel Treetopper shook his head and slowly sat up. The headache was already clearing away. He absentmindedlyh brushed her hand away from his cheek as he rubbed his face. He stood up and wobbled but remained upright. "We really need to get out of here Mimi." He put out his arm and his loyal pet flew to him. "Which way Arrow?" He asked the hawk, who flapped its wings and pointed one out towards the north.

"Oh man." Cass said, worried. He reached out his hand towards her and a green light left it and moved into her. Any minor wounds she had would be completely healed, the larger ones would only be slightly healed. But he was prepared for that. He brought out some specially made bandages, "Does anything still hurt?" he asked.

"It's been a long time since I had a friend Mimi." Cass said, holding her until her tears dried. He patted her back whispering, "It's going to be okay...Shhh you'll be alright..." into her ears until she settled down. It seemed to him that all children were the same be they Halfling or not. "We still need to get out of these woods. It'll be dark soon."

"What's that?" Cass asked, now interested in the vial of something that looked magical. He reached for Mimi's hand so he could lead her through the forest faster. Arrow's thoughts came back to him that they were almost an hours walk from the edge. Best to move quickle then.

Castiel Treetopper looked curiously at the girl as he took a bite of his sandwich. She seemed disturbed but he doubted she was much of a threat. He looked at Mimi. "Well, wanna invite her over and give her some food or something? Maybe she's an old friend of your's."

Castiel Treetopper looked at the girl like she was crazy. "It's called chinese food? C'mon, I live out in the woods and even I know that." He finished one sandwich and moved onto the fries. He was eating voraciously. It was probably because he hadn't eaten in days.

Castiel Treetopper put his hands up, his mouth full of fries. He mumbled through the food. "Ok, ok. Mever said anathin 'bout hatin' you" He blinked his eyes, remembering that it would be wise to see if this girl was good or evil. If she was good he would see a blue aura, if she was evil it would be red. Nuetral people did not have auras, he'd learned that fairly quickly.

Castiel Treetopper shook his head. He wasn't going to give his life story to some girl he just met. "I don't really want to talk about it now." He looked at Mimi, she seemed to be completely ignoring them. "I'm not in a very, chick flick type of mood right now." HE thought about the sword that he'd been given. Such a great weapon, but it caused him so much pain. Why did he have to be the condemned one anyways? What was so great about him?
