Charles Cooper staggered in the bar drunkenly, spitting on the floor and shaking a cigarette from a crumpled pack into his mouth. He looked around, eyes glassy to the various faces that were all formless blobs to him. It didn't matter what these people looked like; if they were there they liked to drink and that's enough of an endorsement for him. Shuffling to the bar with determination he made sure a stool was under him before he sat. "Vodka!" He exclaimed, lighting his cigarette. "I'm getting sober."

Charles Cooper walked into the bar bleary-eyed and yawned. The man's face was flush with last night's drunk and three days worth of stubble peppered his face. The military uniform he wore was soiled; the black color of his jacket was turning slightly road-wear grey and in truth he didn't care. The man's brown leather knee-high boots made his foot falls echo as he walked to the bar. Charles took notice of the various patrons; paying them no more attention than a cautionary glace and sat down. "Vodka, double. Leave the bottle." He ordered, shaking a bent cigarette from his crumpled pack and lighting it. The man's nose crinkled, "Smells like fucking dog in here." He muttered to himself.

Charles Cooper nodded at the woman, unsure why a pack of dogs would be in a bar but didn't want to seem touristy for asking as much. "Well good to hear about the clean up," He said not taking his eyes off the bottle of vodka that just arrived. "Nothing throws off that bouquet of desperation you find in a bar like an offensive smell." He drank the contents of the small glass in one pull and poured himself another. It was then he turned to her; she was young, pretty enough though Major Cooper really only judged people on ability not physical appearance. In that regard eying her weapons, she was likely one not to fuck with. Good for her. He raised his glass "To cleaning robots!" he toasted and downed the liquor.

The guy next to her, drinking bourbon gave him pause. His father had said "A man who drinks bourbon has dark places in his heart." Could be true, could be that folksy wisdom dad tried to peddle to Charles since he was old enough to listen. He drew in smoke and exhaled, tapping his cigarette and letting the ashes float to the floor. The woman that had entered after him looked far too neat for a place like this, he assumed she was with some government and likely - despite there being literal monsters here, was the most dangerous person present.

Charles Cooper smirked at the interaction between Keller and the government stiff. Charles knew their type; they wanted results no matter how difficult, they'd be more inclined to ask you to turn straw into gold than ask you your name. "Seems to me," He began, speaking to no one in particular but loud enough for the man and suit to hear. "If anyone is dressed like they have a personal valet, they got no business in the thick; where real people bleed, shit and die. Ivory towers are far from this place." He sipped his vodka and smiled before continuing. "But, if a lady is inclined to slum, then by all means she should enjoy herself." Charles finished his drink and sighed.

He couldn't say he was surprised by the woman's outburst. Some of the most clean-cut aristocrats were some of the worst human beings, but the kicker was they looked good while being awful. Turning to the bourbon-drinking man he cleared his throat. "It's good to see a person speak their mind nowadays that candor is rare. I'm Charles Cooper." He offered the man his hand.
