So this was Gambit's. Honesty stood perched against the door frame of the main entrance, looking vaguely bemused. For all her friend's ranting about how fun and wild this place could be, it initially looked quite sedate. You know, for a place in Wing City, home to national conflicts and nearly all kinds of creatures and peoples. Seeing apparently led to believing around here.

Now... her social butterfly of a friend had mentioned that this place did coffee just like home and thus, the young woman strode across the open area confidently, ducking around chairs and people as they came into her way. Dodging students in full to bursting corridors had improved her reflexes somewhat in the last few months, placing a pale-skinned fingertip to the touch screen to begin making her order.

Coffee, milky with three sugars and a dash of nutmeg.

"I... erm... thanks, but are you okay?" Honesty leaned over the little robot, curious thing that it was. Concerned? No, but certainly curious, eyeing the hot and undoubtably tasty cup of coffee that smelled exactly of home.

Maybe Gerald had a point. Maybe. Honesty would be damned if she admitted that though, looking a little bemused and not noticing the hooded figure comment on her order.

Whilst being pretty sure that gears falling off was most certainly not a sign of wellness in a machine, Honesty let the little tender bot flit away back to its other duties before sipping at her coffee, a grin on her lips. A quick glance around the room informed her that there were a few tables around that weren't occupied, slipping away from the bar area to go and seat herself at an empty table, facing outwards towards the room.

She liked observing in a non-creepy fashion. The changes in life were of constant interest to the young student, which was no surprise given her degree subject.

Kid - who should not be in a bar alone - talking to a child who looked scarcely the same age at Honesty herself and then that delightful group that comprised of what she was almost certain was a ninja (a bad one at that), some generically pretty man and a less than modest female.

No one was talking very much and she was glad of that fact, for it meant that she did not have to not listen. Watching was one thing; eavesdropping entirely another, stirring her spoon absently around her coffee mug and sipping gracefully. It really was good coffee and exactly what she needed after a morning of mentally gruelling classes.

Honesty had indeed not noticed the sleeping man in the bar, mostly because her player's scroll-up does not go that high, though she was watching him rise now fleetingly, smiling tilting back into the chair to relax. Normally she hung out in the coffee shop on campus and was constantly greeted and locked in conversation with other students she knew. Some of them Honesty even liked.

So, to come here and be relatively unknown... it was nice.

The inpromptu arrival of the paparazzi made Honesty stare for a few moments, stunned that anyone of relative fame would visit such a back-alley hotspot. Maybe notoriety drove people to insanity?

There were many of Honesty's fellow students that would have scrambled up from their seats right now to catch a glimpse and perhaps already have noticed whomever was being cruelly hounded but Honesty really just felt a little sorry for anyone who had to live like that.

Inadvertently, a gasp escaped her as Shinzui rose to confront the loud and rude group. Gripping her coffee cup tightly, brown eyes flickered to the door. She most definitely did not want to be caught here if a fight broke out.

Flashing bulbs kept going off and instead of watching the scene obviously for too much longer, Honesty surreptitiously tilted her body away from the chaos, sure she would hear if a fight broke out and eject herself.

The cursing made Honesty blink, looking across the room at the paparazzi once more and accidentally catching Shinzui's eye as he attempted a grin towards her, though his discomfort was obvious. Still, she smiled back as she jerked a thumb over to the chaos that was ensuing and rolling her eyes dismissively.

To say he looked unusual to her was a gross understatement but that was hardly surprising, seeing as Honesty frequently found herself stunned by the variety of people from different time periods and cultures – let alone worlds that congregated around Wing City. It was nice to see that someone else was not so affected by the mass hysteria that celebrities and paparazzi seemed to instil.

It was bemusing to hear the line of one of the most famous flirty characters in existence come from a ridiculously tall and solemn looking Native American and thoroughly distracted Honesty away from the paparazzi, Shinzui and any drama resulting around Sabine.

β€œI'd be better if those vultures learnt that privacy is supposed to be a valued thing, but it seems that guy over there beat me to that conclusion!” Honesty returned with a smoothness to her voice that belied her shock at the technique used to enrapture the photographers. Was that magic?

β€œ...Anyway, how do you do?” In contrast to Arcassius, the young adult was pale skinned, standing at about five foot three and very much amused by the whole situation. The British accent was telling of her origins.

Long, hard laughter at the methods employed to free Sabine of her laprey-like horde of paparazzi, allowing Honesty to recognise her with a touch of surprise. Strange place for someone like her to hang out, but each to their own. Instead of dwelling on that chaos she turned to regard Arcassius, grinning.

"It is a distracting isn't it? All that palaver over one measly person who..." A gesture over to Sabine, clinging to the bar counter rather pathetically... "does not even want the attention. Terrible."

Then Honesty shook the outstretched hand firmly, grin morphing into a warm smile. "Honesty. Nice to meet you Cassius."

There was a coffee cup with its contents still relatively lukewarm between Honesty's hands, chuckling. β€œNah, I'm good thank you. I really ought to get back to studying anyway. I came to explore this bar after nagging from my best friend. It's... pleasant and some of the company is good.”

Her wide gesture towards Cassius was telling of whom she was referring to, winking at him in good humour.

The sound of metal scraping against like made Honesty alert, glancing around for the source and finding herself rather startled to discover that the non-descript man from before was hacking up the paparazzi's cameras with abandon. Now that... that was creepy.

β€œOh... yeah. Embarrassingly enough, I'm studying journalism.” The sheepish look said it all, really. His offer was tempting. β€œYeah, okay. I'd appreciate that. Thanks Cassius.” The cooing was a little off-putting but after what she'd just seen, it was tame by comparison.

Okay, so she was back again, nestled away somewhere that had a clear line of escape to the door - that is, there were no chairs currently blocked her planned route. After hearing what had been occurring at this popular but danger fraught haunt for the normal and bizarre, Honesty (perhaps stupidly) still did not carry any protection, but knew her exits and had the local emergency numbers on speed dial.

Thursday was her shortest day and she was relaxing in her chair, little violet heels discarded by one of the front legs of the chair, shins tucked up under her thighs. Her posture was leant slightly over the table surface, reading a rather tattered book and sipping at a glass of wine when it came to turn a page.

The audible slap of paper against wood was just enough to startle Honesty out of her reading bubble, blinking and glancing around to see who had disturbed her. The source was found in Cyrus, who upon seating himself a few tables away from her, had deigned to make a little show of drawing out some papers before perusing them interestedly.

An blonde eyebrow rose, closing her book with a soft thud, prettily coloured layered skirt swishing around her knees as Honesty swung on her seat to sit side-ways upon her chair. Then she reopened her book, glancing surreptitiously over at the one-time disturbance every so often in lieu of sipping tea.

So much for the subtle approach.

Honesty looked a little embarrassed at being caught snooping so easily, bemused and shocked at his reaction to her gazing. Normally people got offended, called her out. This man seemed to enjoy it, bringing her to wave a little back before contemplating rising.

Then she saw the pen and with it, blank paper. As she turned to pick up her teacup, someone addressed Cyrus, his discarded papers in hand. Grinning, Honesty glanced over at him and tutted. 'Litterer,' she mouthed, watching things unfold as they would.

It seemed Honesty had lost her chance to pry into precisely what someone was doing with paper and a pen stuffed into their coat, especially a certain someone who didn't seem like the creative type but he seemed quite happy conversing with the other woman.

It was no great loss; she really ought to finish this advanced reading for her lecture tomorrow anyway.

It was getting late and Honesty would have to be up at an absurdly early hour if she was going to meet up with Gerald before her seminar - a hesitant glance down at the book - then now would be a good time to leave if she was planning on getting home and to sleep at a sensible hour.

How much attention had she been paying to the bar throughout her study? Uncertain and she gave no indication of interest in anything there as she departed, a swish of pastel coloured skirts and odd grace.

Honesty had been stood up before, so it was not humiliation or upset that had her glaring towards the bar's door with a hatred that bordered on murderous because she had never been stood up by him. Gerald Sullivan, you are in so much trouble when I find out it was a girl who has distracted you! Heck, even his phone was off so she could not even yell to remind him.

In a huff that looked almost childish, Honesty slammed the phone against the table's surface before focusing on her book entitled 'The Way of the Shadows', occasionally raising her gaze to the door, wondering if she could burn a hole through it and into Gerald with her willpower alone.

It took Honesty a few moments to realise that someone had appeared quite close by to her and seemingly out of nowhere. An eyebrow rose at the peculiar entering stranger's choice of dress. The whole 'red and black' look was striking but garish and she gave not a thought to quality of tailoring. There was no shame in how she looked across the distance at him, torn away from opposing theories on interview technique, anger still simmering quite close to the surface.

Her brown eyes were quite hard, livid almost. It was an angry stare, devoid of the curiosity that Honesty was actually feeling towards the stranger.

Had Honesty been expecting him to notice her looking? Possibly, though her tightened grip on the textbook she was trying to force herself back to with limited success suggested a discomfort at being outed as a starer. His words did not ring quite true, and they were repeated once more through her mind, addled as it was by anger and hurt.

β€œI...” The manner in which she was addressed actually caught Honesty off-guard, looking rueful for a few moments, uneasy. β€œNope, but apparently I have my 'angry face' on.” It was an easy mistake to make when a woman was glaring at you with all the intent that you would spontaneously combust, even if it was not you she was thinking of.

β€œI'm sorry.” She indicated the second glass on her table, whiskey, untouched. β€œI got stood up, so it's them I'm rather peeved at, not you.”
