Kai'lale

Eight feet of sinewy muscle and flag-stoned scarlet hide, Kai'lale is dragon-like in every sense of the word with a long tail budded with a spade, broad wings tipped with a three clawed fingers and a Draconic visage.

Description

Kai'lale is eight feet tall and powerful looking. Though not as magestic as a true dragon, the vibrant scarlet color of his skin and scales eludes to a magestic heritage. Kai'lale is a strange mix between human and dragon, seeming feral and bestial in one respect and paragonal of human heritage in the next. A commanding aura surrounds him but to those who would seek to know him, he is gentle as a lamb. Kai'lale bears a banded mail cuirass and what looks like customer made clothing otherwise in the form of breeches with a spot for his tail and leather greaves which allow his taloned feet space to be mobile. Kai'lale seems to have a preference towards less clothes the better and he only bears leather braces and a strip of white cloth tied around his right fore-arm. Kai'lale's eyes are a crystalline green and are vertically slit as dragons.

Personality

Kai'lale is gentle as gentle can be and is slow to anger, taking things in stride. He is committed to what he says as well and will go out of his way to fulfill those things. Therefore he does not make promises lightly. With that in mind Kai'lale is not one to be trifled with and if no other solution can be had he will fight with spear, claw, spade and breath.

Equipment

Kai'lale does not generally carry much on him for equipment other than a dagger.

So begins...

Kai'lale ducked the doorway into the bar and looked around a bit with great curiosity. This place seemed much better suited for him and looked as though there was less stuff to be broken. Kai'lale stood over seven feet tall in his typical partially hunched position but if he stood up straight and extended his digitgraded legs he could cap out over eight feet. Both positions looked natural for him, one just made him look more human.

Kai'lale enters the bar with some degree of trepidation, ducking his head to enter through the door. The door was not small but Kai'lale was not used to objects coming that close to his head. An errant strand of cobweb stuck to his bristly hair and shook his head briskly with a kind of scratchy noise before he stepped forward further into the bar. There were a few people here, but not many, Kai'lale liked that. Me stepped up to the bar, serpentine gaze judging that it seemed to be the centric point of the room.

Kai'lale shifted uncomfortably. Everything was kind of small and Kai'lale was kind of lanky. From afar he looked absolutely in proportion for someone who is eight feet tall and with draconic heritage but even so, everything felt rather small. Kai'lale frowned at the building and managed to find an empty spot where he simply crouched, leaned on the base of his tail and seemed fully able to relax. He hit something on his rather alien looking spear and leaned it against the wall.

Kai'lale watched the feline character and the pretentious looking humanoid lady and what Kai'lale thought was her body guard with some degree of curiosity.

Kai'lale raised an eyebrow as the lady walked out. It looked weird on his draconic features and Azuren was left alone. THere were still a few other people int he bar but three just left it seemed. Kai'lale stood up from his "seat" and stalked over to Azuren in the Lady's wake. "Who was she?" Kai'lale inquired out of nowhere, his voice was deep and sounded as though it were coming from a deep place as well but it had a ponder-some tone to it... it was gentle and not resonant or as a loud deep voice might be.

Kai'lale cocked his head slightly and shrugged his great shoulders in a sign of not pursuing the question any further. "Curiosity is not just the crime of the cat." He joked with a dagger toothed smirk. Kai'lale doubted the creature before him would enjoy it nearly as much but opprotunities, they do present themselves. "I am new here, but you seem busy." Kai'lale bowed his head and lowered his eyes and then turned to leave.

Kai'lale peered about the bar with an inquisitive raise of the eyebrow and poke a fleshy tongue out, fiddling with the split in his lip. The stalked with slow strides toward the bar. His clothing was moderately recent but quite evidently custom tailored and held air of an era long past. The draconian took a seat on one of the stools and carefully slipped the spade of his tail by his feet, curling his tail around the stool. The draconian then set about looking through the menu on the bar top.

Kai'lale looked like he really wasn't suited to be sitting at the stool given his relative size but somehow made it look easy and even let out a labored stretch, his mouth stretching wide open and revealing rows of sharp teeth as he yawned. The draconian then decided he needed something caffeinated and ordered it up

Kai'lale blinked once or twice as his coffee came up and the roasted, sweet tart smell of the roast rose into the air. Then, as a proverbial monster to rape and pillage his senses, a plethora of other smells exploded into his nose. Kia'lale's large ear twitched slightly and he turned his head to regard the table it was coming from. As he payed mind to the three, he noted their generally unified disgust of the food and let out a bass-toned resonant chuckle. He picked up the coffee mug, which looked too small in his hands and took a sip.

Kai'lale noticed the tiny boy who was sitting with them and felt a smirk curl the corners of his mouth. The draconian nodded to the boy in silent and distant greeting.

Kai'lale regarded Parson again when he asked the question and felt his smirk turn into a smile that was more fatherly than anything else. Before responding with a word, Kai'lale's green eyes regarded Masika and Muketsu carefully who seemed to be at least interacting on a tertiary level with him. Kai'lale's smile returned and his deep voice carried easily without much effort. "It is but my nature, child. We Draekin are large." Kai'lale said somewhat matter of fact.

Kai'lale cocks his head, looking down at the child. Some of the draconian's bristly locks fell around his vision like blinders and he cocked his head slightly. "That's not right. Why would people pick on you?" The draconian asked, taking another drain from his mug of coffee. He then gestured to the stool adjacent to him. The stools were decently tall but he felt confident the boy could scale it.

Kai'lale curled his lip in some degree of disgust. "If she needs to conjure the minions of the 9 hells to her aide than she is not worth the slime on a boat's hull." Kai'lale concluded with a wink to the boy. No one ever said the Draconian was ideal as a mentor figure but he at least liked the boy. Kai'lale then offered his hand to the boy. "I am Kai'lale Sangran. You can call me whatever you like."

Kai'lale nodded, eyes lowing in some show of respect. "An honor to meet such a great man as yourself, Parson Lessard." Kai'lale resounded in return. The boy's hand was strikingly cold to the Draconian, who's body ran at a temperature over 100 naturally. Kai'lale did not put much thought into it but instead continued the line of thought. "So why does the girl's fun-making bother you?"

Kai'lale narrowed his green eyes at Parson and listened to the boy's plight. The draconian was, in general, a very upfront individual; honest of soul and mind to a near fault and it is because of this trait that Kai'lale put a great deal of thought into what the boy was saying. "Do you trust anyone?"

Kai'lale took in the details of the boys reaction as best he could and nodded slowly. "What does your teacher think about you?" The draconian inquired then, ignoring the boys pressing question for more information about why he was asking these questions.

Kai'lale nodded with a smile. "Than how come this girl... who obviously can't do or think or herself, matters?" Kai'lale reasoned with a grin, taking another drink of his coffee.

Kai'lale felt a honest laugh erupt from his throat, deep and endearing of the child's affections. Kai'lale patted the boy on the back and shook his head in wonder how it was so easy to please the child. Still, he felt so cold... Kai'lale's mind was churning at this point but the dracnonian was not exactly keen on things of the world. Intelligent? Maybe. Well learned? Not precisely. "Glad I could help." Kai'lale smirked.

Kai'lale let out a resonant hum in response to Parson's praise and then said "Now I wouldn't go that far." He admitted with a chuckle. The draconian raised the mug once more and finished off his coffee, which was now tepid rather than hot. It felt cold to the draconian. Kai'lale then decided he would mention it to the boy and just come right out with it. "You feel colder than most humans I have met." Kai'lale said, looking at the boy rather matter of factly.
