Being that her favorite color is also any shade of red, Lake has recently run afoul of a wayward transformation potion that has transformed her into a dark scarlet furred Javanese feline. It has happened now twice, however, this time around was the first time Lake has every gotten to housecat size, the other time was when she was human sized and furred up due to a weird magical battle.

Lake One's Story

Lake One arrived through the door, dressed in scarlet, her hair covered by red cloth. The Perfect Soldier looked about the place, it stank and for wont of a better term, was the only place that had a hotel. But it wasn't the Everglades either. With something of a suppressed snarl, the red garbed woman stalked into the bar and headed for a table. She heard the name of Red, and for but a moment thought someone called to her, she cast her eyes around to see who spoke, not seeing anyone, just a man in a hweel chair. She'd seen a few too many of those. And trusted none of them.

Lake One took seat at a table near the bar, her eyes were drawn t othe door as it opewned and the man entered, strangely the man had a tail, Who didn't? The perfect Soldier thought to herself. She had come across many odd creatures in her recent adventures with Sung and Josh. Her gaze snapped towards the man that ran headlong into her table, she watched him. "Watch what?" She asked him without any humor whatsoever in her voice. A soldier built for combat since day one, Lake held little humor, and often annoyed her XOs, mostly two of them, named O'Niell and Carter, to the point where Carter had shot her, twice.

Lake One gave off something of a smile, though the sixty seven year old, soldier (who was actually 16 years of age in actuality) was rarely one to smile even when a mission was completed. "Let us examine that claim of my being in your way, for you did not ruyn into me, you ran into a table." She said, indicating the table which she sat at. "So, whose fault is it that brought you to see me?" She was mildly amused. She liked this man, a soldier as how he handled his weapon. Her own weapons were both at her hip and on her back. A crossbow and a USP Tactical.

Her gaze snapped towards the newcomer, the man with thetail had spoken to her? Well, he must have, she had recalled speaking to a Monkey named Jurr, the guy had at the time called himself the Monkey King. "I am fine." She said placing a hand to her right lung in a expression of greeting.

Lake One smirked. Definantly a soldier. "You seek to hire me?" SDhe asked him, before turning to Forte she said simply, "Conflict?" She rolled the word over in her mind, yeah, her Xo's had used the word many a time, even some members of her squads she had led used it. At least she had told them to get more to theterms and called it a fight or skirmish, she shook her head no. There wss no skirmish... yet. Her gaze once more settled on Beau Esprit. "Name." She said simply. More of a statement then a question to Beau. She had learned the hard and painful way of taking on jobs, and was still hunting carter for it.

Lake One smirked again. She made no mention of her own name yet. She never gave her true name away. In fact she never knew if she had a real name like anyone in the Army did, Like jack or Joey or whatever. Instead, no, she was lake One, a soldier to the core. But Beau was right, she wasn't the minion type, but more or less the merc for hire type. The Thundershot Crossbow on her back, a costum made weapon, seemed to have ah eavy draw. "ghost jokes." She said thoughtfully. Why would she make jokes of the dead?

Lake One never made a move to laugh or anything else. She would never make a joke of the dead, even if ones name sounded as if one the dead would make noise of. "You are a solder." She said at long last. Either that or he was a hired gun, like herself. Oh if only she had her G36M.

Lake One watched Beau leave, so he was more of a hired gun after all she mused. Now once more aslone she sat at table, a waiter arrived with a menu, she skimmed it and ordered something that seemed to have ionce lived in the Everglades. At least it was food she was used to eating

Lake One snapped her gaze from the table to the one making the sound that hurt her ears. lake stood in one swift motion, her crossbow off her back and ready for use aimed at Uriel. "Let her go" She snarled, the crossbow had a odd tip to the arrow, like a leaf, razor sharp. The Perfect Soldier was not in the mood.

Lake One reslung her crossbow to her back and darted forwards to Nichole, but was too late as the woman had hit her head upon the floor. With practised prescison Lake withdrew a white cloth from her belt and cradled Nicholes head with one hand and gelty set the cloth against the break in skin. Why some creatures still went after humans did little to deter the Perfect Soldier. She gave a dark look towards Uriel.

Lake One shook her head, "I did not, you have dfallen, yet I..." She was cut off as the fire begain, startled, and for the mostp art, scared half to death of said fire, then she heard it, the ear blistering sounds of engies from above. Had the System still sought her after her and Carters fight only months before?

Lake One snarled at the word, Battleground, she hated the things, but she was created for such places, sadly she found no solace outside of destruction and battle. "Battleground my ass" She snarled towards Tobias, she neer was one to let things get the best of her. Sometimes she had to take the hard way out of places, and most of those times she was aided by the Stone of Song and its spirtlike guardians.

Lake One smirked, "In all my years of war, never had I met one like you." Her ears hurt from the sounds outside, She watched Tobias leave, hopefully this guy would end the pain in her ears. Her heand went to the handgun at her hip, now she realyl wanted her G36E, now where di the barkeeper stash it for her? She turned and dove over the bar just as Tobias opened the door, allowing her to be seen by the advancing troops. She prayed to whatever diety was in charge at the time and hoped the troops were not sent by Carter

Lake One traded looks with Marty, the NPC barkeeper set up a few coffess ont othe bar, in unbreakable mugs of all things. He spoke in his native klangauge to the perfect Soldier. "Under the sink", Lake smiled a odd type of smile, a feral one to be sure. She scasmpered for the weapons location. There it was, she saew the glimmer of gunmetal gray stell aof the ammo pac, and also took hold of the black machinegun, with expert perscision she scanned trheeapon, she had sent it ahead of her to the place she'd stay at. The ammopac she had also sent ahead. A thousand shots, and only ten extra leads. It would have to do. She took hold of the weapon and slid a lead int othe socket, with a confirmed CLACK as it locked into place. The ammo bar read full. Perfect. She stood up then, holding the G36E in one hand, the pac of now nine leads worth of ammo in the other hand. How could she carry such a weapon easliy?

Lake One only smirked, She spoke, her voice calm and serene. "Carter sent you for me, to make sure I am dead." a feral smile graced her face. "Ahah. There are others within this place. You would harm them as well." She said, the G36E was in her left hand, on her hip was a small handgun, on her back was her crossbow, and in her right hand was a odd gunmetal gray box of some kind.

Lake One kept a solid grip on her weapon, yeah she had proper LIA for such a item, she apparently had it built for her before that IED took out her convoy thatl anded her in two years of coma, which was later figured to be all fake, that soldier had died and Lake had been created to that particular file, Lake was a created soldier, and such information was ingrained to her DNA structure. She ratteld off a odd listing, "LAKEO" She saidm, bascially her name, what she actually was. She set the gray box on the counter, her hand went to the small gay item on the G36E she held. Good Carter had not sent them. Nothing to worry much about. "You can go about your buisiness." She said, though the look of her, and also the tone of her voice said pretty much there'd be trouble should any marine go near her weapons, or herself.

Lake One looked first to the man before giving so much as a glance to the radio like item. She had used many on occiason. So they had heard of the Perfect Soldier? She smirked again, something that would make Jpohn McClane back home proud. She could name her price? None of it was money, But then it didn't hold much value for her anyhow. Transports, she only had the airboat captain back at the Everglades. "All three." The fact that she could hold a weapon like a G36M one handed without strain made her a force to be contended with. She didn't need money, but she wanted Carter. She'd need a transport, and the only equipment she had was the clothes on her back at thetime, so she'd need a change of clothing, and also a place ot temp call home. And she also needed more leads for her G36E. Now all she had to worry about was if the group of soldiers would take it or leavew it, but since they needed help. and Carter hadn't sent them after her.

Lake One smiled as the soldiers turned to leave, she noted down everything the soldier told her. both phrases would be used. She smiled, they had accepted her price, all three really only meant a change of clothes, access to an armory with leads for her G36E, and also a transport of her choice. A perfect fit for the Perfect Soldier

Lake One had left the bar a few minutes to a half hour before. She took her weapons with her, along with the small case of leads for the weapon she carried prtetty much liek a battle axe over one shoulder. She was partly surprised that the men had agreed to her requestion, Name your price she was told, weapons, equipment, or transports, she chose all three. She hated multiple choice questions on any kind of test. And she had just found a local armoury dump for the ammo, thankfully it had the leads she neede for her weapon. She headed then on a walk. She had wondered at first why the men had gone to Gambits in the first place. This palce was insane.

Lake One came to a halt at the city gates to the North, this wasn't like her old life. her senses were on high alert. She had no idea what the man had ment by 'Red Halo's in the area' She passed a jeweler. Not one for fancy items, she could not help but look in the window and view the contents within. Wing City was nothing like the Everglades she was used to. She had access to the local weapons depots. But what if she had access to other items as well? She put a hand to her nose and mouth as something foul was caught scent of, a skunk scampered by, yeah, she needed a shower now.

She stood at the gates for some time, watching the sunset. Just like she had watched the same sun, (or was it the same sun?) set day after day on her tiny ilse at the Everglades back home. She set her weapon down, barrel to the ground, and leaned on the thing. She showed no signs of strain of carrying the weapon. After a few moments she turned to head back. It was time for thought. At that point she had nowhere to stay. and had made no move other then to pick up a few more leads, a silverlike item no larger then a standard zeppo lighter. She looked about, there had to be a place for a room, and a hot shower

Lake One turned her emerald gaze towards the woman that spike to her. "Curfew." She repeated. Her lumicent green eyes took in Motoko. She had solid grip on her own weapon, but wondered why exactly this woman had approached her. "Fair warning." She half smiled as she remembered those words from Dr Marks, her creator. Lake wasn't in Wing City for no reason, the Stone had sent her there to find Carter. She turned to face Motoko in full. She recognised her as a XO of some sort, like that would be another mistake she would make.

"You know of a place with hot shower." Lake never really was one that was good at asking questions. She had given up on even so much as trying to do just that. In the streetlight Lake was seen, dressed from head to toe in red robes as if in a dress, her hair, also dark scarlet in color with streaks of black was covered by a red cloth. She had never finalised on any deal, and hoped only to get what she needed and work things her own way. She was after Carter, any other offers were just perks to get closer to the Maj

the doors to Gambits open, in the outside rain that had finally begun to our a lone figure had stood. Soaking wet, carrying nothing more other then a large weapon, and an second smaller weapon upon her back and also a smaller weapon on her hip. Clad in scarlet clothing, Lake One entered thr bar, finding a place to stay the night before was unfruitful. She had no money, for it held very little value for her. One or two pices of gold she had flitched by accident. But that was it. She took seat near the bar.

Lake One looked about, there seemed to be very few people within the tavern. She stood from her seat she had taken at the bar, and made to leave. There were none there that intrested her, ahe knew that none might not have any information of where Carter hid herself. She headed outside.

Lake One returned to the bar, her face was a odd type of scowl. a few streaks and splotches of scarlet blood were seen on her face and nose. And also on her hand as well. Her sleeve was pulled up and cuts were seen. Apparently lake had run across something that didn't like her. She looked about for a sink, and remebmered, her weapon was stored under same. So she headed in that direction.

Lake One went rightto the bar, the sink within sight she went to it and began to clean her arm of the injuries she had taken, It wouldn't take much longer before her healing factor, or whatver it wascalled, kicjed in to heal the cuts. Thankfully the bleeding had stopped. The scowl on the Perfect Soldier's face slowly faded as Percussion played his music. It was strangely soothing. Similar to a battlefield, only a battlefield normally soothed the raging beast that was Lake One. But then the same man was talking to her? he had to be, as she was injured, but the beast of the alley was dead. "I am well." She stated, then she asked him. "That sound, it is soothing." How had he played such? This was not a battlefield, so how could his music soothe her?

Lake One listened to the music for a few more seconds before focusing on her task at hand. She was after Carter, and yet none she had spoken to knew of her. The freckin had shot her twice in the knees, had she not had the Stone with her, she'd have lost her feet. And she was rather partial to them. Her G36E, a machinegun in size similar to a M16 Machinegun was on her back, the fact she could carry and use such an item without strain was curious. She reached behind her back and removed her crossbow to clean it. Practised fingers took apart the weapon, setting it on the counter in pieces to clean it.
