Oliver Stratt didn't say a word as he pushed into the bar and sat down at the counter, slapping down a tenspot and snapping his fingers at the nearest bartender to get him a beer. Whatever beer, he didn't care. He just wanted a drink, nothing more, nothing less. it wasn't that he had a bad day, it was more he had...a day. One day out of too many days. Nothing interesting ever happened to him, and it had been ages since he got into a scuffle. He was getting insatiable...he wanted to start shit, he wanted new patterns in his skin. The seemingly permanent bruised lip did little to assuage him.

The bartender would never notice him. Unless one was specifically in play, the bartender tended to be pretty ineffectual. Olly narrowed his eyes, sucking idly at the ring through his lip. A miracle he hadn't taken that out, as the swelling alone from the bruising would be enough to pop that sucker right out of his face. He picked at a piece of hair before muttering at nothing in particular. "C'mon, c'mon, I don't have all night, here!"

"Oh. Er. You heard me...?" Olly's demeanor changed instantly upon recognition. "If you've got Warsteiner, I would like it, pleasethankyou." He coughed and pushed the money towards the bartender. He rubbed his eyes as if they were aching. His momentary anger pangs having dipped away into nothing. He practically jumped when Adwar spoke beside him, banging his knee against the side of the bar. "AGhhh, ffuuu- No, no I don't need a drink, got it covered...damn."
He didn't even want to roll up his jeans and watch the bruise form across his knee cap. Dark and ugly.

"Oh, well...it's mostly just little knocks and scuffs you get from living, eh?" Olly replied over top of his beer, sipping at it idly. "I bruise easily..." He shrugged Adwar off. "But I don't doubt that there are gangs running around this side of town, but then again, where aren't there?"
He glanced over at Lukas out of the corner of his eyes. Pretty curls...

Oliver Stratt sipped his beer quietly, having lost his audience for the time being. He tapped his fingers on the bar, reveling in the bitter nature of the Warsteiner as it sloshed down his throat. He heard rumors that his dad (sire maybe?) was back in town. But he wouldn't ever find the man, seeing as he probably had a different form at this point and time. He still had to wonder just how dear old Mumsy didn't notice that her paramour was of the paranorm...and how she didn't absolutely freak out when the man essentially made her into a berliner. Drunk...drunk as hell was the only way he could fathom it.
He sat, amused by Lukas' attempt to recover a lost woman like one would a lost puppy. He was better off stapling posters to telephone poles than asking around. But he'd help if he recognized the girl at all, he saw a lot of people come into his 7-11, so feasibly she could have too, maybe.

Oliver Stratt took a cursory glance at the photo now that it was more easily visible. Hmmm...The girl in question didn't look too special to him, just another teenager, like the kind you see at the mall when school's out and there's nothing better to do. Or the kind who dropped into his store and spent 15 minutes longer than was necessary to pick up some nachos and attempt to buy cigarettes from him, despite obviously looking underage. He grunted. There was something though, about the slope of the end of the nose, about the eyes. Though he rarely looked a person in the eyes, the moments he did seemed to burn into his memory, like he was a collector of irises and pupils, keeping them in mental jars.
"She...actually....looks like...a frequent customer of mine..." he spoke at length. "But I'm not absolutely positive on it."
Anything to keep Lukas here longer, to steal more glances of those soft girls, those pouty lips. He hadn't been out in a long time. A long time indeed.

Oliver Stratt took the picture and examined it, tonguing at his lip piercing while he did so. His eyes fell upon the scar along the back of her right hand. There! That was familiar! If there was anything Olly knew better than eyes, it was hands, seeing as that's where he found himself looking most of the time. The damage done to them from menial labor, the callouses on musician's fingers, rough and worn palms, who bit their nails and who took them to the manicurist once a week. "Okay, now...I KNOW I've seen this scar before...so I may have a lead on your Natalie....what's your name by the way?"
He took a short glance at Lukas and had to prevent himself from melting. That angelic face, innocent eyes, delicate brows. Freckles? ...Oh goodness did he EVER have a weakness for freckles, even the slightest smattering of them. He toyed with his piercing again.
"I'm Oliver, by the way..." he added, easing Lukas into a smooth introduction. Flutterflutter.

"Pretty sure now that I've seen those hands. I never forget hands...it's..." He glanced over at Lukas' hands, the way his long fingers curled around the glass, the clean nails, the pink of freshly scrubbed skin...Oh right. "A fixation of sorts. But anyway. If she's who I think she is, she's a bit different...grubbier-looking. Gaunter, like she seen some terrible things, done some hard time. The look of a boozer, user. Goes by Bug, but that ain't the name on her cards, but I don't remember what the name actually is."
He looked up finally, draining the last of his beer. "She stops by at least once every few days to buy smokes...I've stopped carding her at this point. Always squealing at me about how she's well beyond 'of age'. I usually do it to mess with her though."

The hope in Lukas' face was infectuous, causing Oliver to crack a closed-mouth smile, his eyes sparkling. "Last week, mate. Like I said, she comes in for smokes pretty frequently..."
Oliver wasn't the most outgoing of people, but when he saw something he liked, he did reach out and make a grab for it. "Don't worry though, she ain't going anywhere soon. So stay put, have another drink on me."
He might as well offer. He hadn't had anybody to dote on for months at least, especially somebody so cherubic and innocent-looking at Lukas. He rolled with the dirty dirty boys typically, perhaps a change would be good for him.

"A Black Velvet, since the gentleman is buying," he urged to the bartender when the man came to pass. Of course he was going to exploit Lukas for a more fanciful (and thus more expensive) drink. His manly beer-swigging side that accompanied his roughed up appearance mingling with the champagne-imbibing sophisticate side in a single cocktail. Impressive.
He laughed at Lukas' question about his black eye. "Oh this? Ha, I got in a scuffle with a robber...a few weeks back." His bruises tended to linger, as his blood vessels took a damn long time to repair themselves after damage. He'd just come to accept it as part of his appearance, like a birth mark or unsightly mole. He hardly noticed anymore unless it was fresh, or still stung if you poked it enough.

"My bike's outside, we can take a joyride to the morgue and check," Oliver joked. However, when Oliver told jokes, it was with a deadly serious face, which brought into question if he HAD actually killed the man. He didn't look physically capable of it though, in fact, he looked rather whispy and frail. He seemed to be speckled with bruises actually, lighter, less serious ones than the one on his eye and lip.
The black velvet arrived and he drank it, savoring the bubbles fizzing up his nose, a lopsided grin on his face. "This city's full of scumbags and hoodrats...you just get used to it, I suppose."

"Cool yourself, I haven't killed anybody, honest." Oliver retorted over his drink. "Your Natalie doesn't look too bad off...just like she's done a few shots in her time...rolls with the wrong sort of folk, y'know? I don't think she's in any trouble though. But it's not my business to keep up with my customers' personal lives."
He rubbed his nose, sniffling. The cold weather was getting to him it would seem. He wondered if he could call in one of his co-workers to cover the graveyard shift for him. He was feeling heavy-headed. He perked at Lukas' inquiry before tonguing his piercing again.
"Me, a bad person? Mmmm, nahhhh. I've gotten a few speeding tickets, and I do seem to run into fights more often than the average person. But that's maybe my own fault than anything else..." he rambled. "But no. No I'm not a bad person."
But he did tend to seek 'bad' people out for his own amusement.

"Celebrate? Shouldn't you see her for yourself first?....You sure you want to trust a complete stranger?" Oliver asked, but quickly stopped mid-thought when he saw Lukas' smile. It was...darling, it glowed like the sun. Those white, straight teeth, absolutely perfect. Far from his own, which if he smiled too much would show that one of his upper canines had been knocked out years ago and not replaced in time. He could get a replacement...if he ever had the money for it.
He kept with his closed-mouth smile before nodding. "Ah, very well, let's drink then. Barkeep! Let's get some El Tesoro up in here!"

Oliver wasn't one for the fancy crap, garnishes, or modicums of flavor. He took his tequila straight just the same, lifting the tiny shot glass. "To finding what is lost, and new friends! Eight years is too long to be searching for anything, you deserve a break."
He tilted the shot back, loving the burn in his throat. The old adage rang in his head, 'beer before liquor, never sicker'. What the FUCK ever, head. Even a hangover would be a welcome change from the monotonous turn his life had taken.
Besides, if Lukas was as much a lightweight as he looked, he might have been able to get at LEAST to second base tonight. He could drink forever if it meant that.

Oliver took a second shot, smirking at Lukas' premature slur. "Fff n'aww. I got it when I was 17 or so. It only stings for a little bit, unless it gets infected, then it's a bitch and a half." He flicked the ring absently. "I had snakebites, but I lost the spacer for that one, so it closed up." And it was true, on his left side of his lip, barely visible against the redpurple bruising was a tiny round scar where a second piercing used to be.
"I used to have oodles more, nose, eyebrow, nips...other places...But now it's just this."
Another shot or two, he'd be fine. The boy was a champion at holding his alcohol.
With Lukas leaned in so close, Olly could smell him. Ah...a woody, healthy scent, with aqueous undertones, like a flooded forest. He liked it.
He probably smelled like a damn convenience store, having not washed up between work and the bar, because, lets face it, he NEVER seemed to pick up anybody. Why would it be tonight, the one night he had counted on nothing, that this vision would come across him?

"Trying to get a job. It didn't....work out the way I planned, obviously. I'm a clerk..er...manager at the 7-11 a block away from here. Dream big, I know, I know."
He dropped out of college, couldn't afford it, but he wanted to get his ass out of his mother's house, who smothered him in a way that made him wonder if SHE wasn't a gelatinous mess of a monster as well. So he took up a job at the 7-11...and stuck with it. He proved to be a very useful crime deterrent. The store seemed to go through a cycle, every few months, some chump would try to hold the place up, and Olly would put their lights out for when the cops arrived.
They never had the balls to shoot, even if they pulled a gun on him.

He didn't mind Lukas' closeness, comfortable (and boozey enough) with the almost-a-stranger's vicinity enough to maintain steady eye contact. Green meeting brown before Lukas backed up. Olly snickered and poured his third shot.
"It's not that big a deal, I hear tattoos are worse, painwise. I'm too flighty to stick with something I want in my skin so permanently that I'd force ink into it. I'm insatiable with that sort of thing, so I'd probably end up head to toe inked, and that CERTAINLY wouldn't help me get any job besides carnie."

"A hairnet? A shame to keep those gorgeous locks under key," He snickered tipsily at his failure-puns. An errant hand came up, an index finger twisted one of the tight blonde coils about his fingers. "Forgive me if it's rude...natural? Also, your freckles are cute-" he blurted out.
He wasn't THAT drunk was he? Or was it him wanting to get some tonight? Perhaps it was raging hormones that were getting him intoxicated. Good god, Lukas smelled marvelous.
"A tattoo eh? Can I see?"

"Pretty...what does it mean?" Olly asked curiously, still playing with Lukas' hair, enjoying the feel of it in his fingers just as much as the curly-haired one enjoyed it. "...Well, I'm not going to be driving home tonight, methinks..." he added. "Fortunately, Gambits is the best place for boozing in town, you can crash right above, y'know?" His eyes went ceiling-ward as he gave a little nod.
"Another drink?"

"Try to get you drunk? You seem to be doing a good enough job for that on your own." Olly chuckled, burying more of his fingers in Lukas' hair. "You're probably so drunk you wouldn't know what to say if I told you that you're damn sexy...You have no idea how badly I want to dirty up that angelic visage you boast~" He growled, leaning in closer to the curly-haired man.
