Once a skilled assassin, Sophia has begun to rethink morality.

Description

Image

Deceptively attractive, Sophia will draw you in with her words, her actions, her glances, and stab you in the back. Literally.

Upon first glance, Sophia appears just to be another pretty face. If one looks into her stormy blue eyes, however, they will see the cold calculations of a merciless killer. Having been the only female assassin in a world of males, Sophia tended to be a bit gruff. She could be crude, she could be insulting, she could be a huge bitch. But they say those with the toughest exterior are the protecting a fragile core.

Or at least, once upon a time.

Now, internally struggling with the concept of morality, Sophia doesn't really know who she is anymore.

So begins...

Sophia Voth sighs heavily as she pushes open the door to this godforsaken bar. She'd been on the trail for a month now and it seemed to be getting cold. Last time this had happened, she walked into a bar and there was the target. Of course, taking them out in the crowded space was a bit harrowing, but as always, she had succeeded. People had a tendency to notice a pretty woman, but not so much the weapons she held. She looked around, scrutinizing the patrons. No such luck. Pushing her hair out of her face, she decided she would grab a drink before continuing on. She crossed to the counter and sat, her worn black leather boots silent across the floor. When the bartender arrived, she ordered a whiskey, and looked around at the other patrons again.

Sophia Voth yawns and examines her fingernails, picking a bit of blood out from under the nail of her index finger. Sipping her whiskey, she appeared to be lost in thought, when in actuality, she was eavesdropping on every conversation, hoping to catch a name or other tidbit of information that would point her in the right direction. One word caught her attention and she narrowed her eyes as she thought about why it was familiar. A name. Drakus. She paid a little bit more attention to that conversation, for all intents and purposes, looking bored as she pulled a dagger from a sheath at her waist and began to clean out from underneath all of her fingernails.

Sophia Voth found herself annoyed at the lack of anything useful in the phrases she was overhearing. She sighed softly, staring down at her dagger, imagining her last kill. Most of the time they begged for their life. Sophia couldn't understand that. When her time came, she intended to look death straight in the face and smile. After all, they were old acquaintances. She sipped her whiskey, thinking about her current assignment. She had been told she might find information here. Once she found him, she would make death swift. She was tired of this already.

Sophia Voth glances around, the shades drawn behind her eyes allowing no expression to show. She scrutinizes the special agent, smiling to herself at the mental image of her taking down Thaddeus. Pulling out her dagger and a sharpening stone, she begins slowly passing the blade over the stone, pausing occasionally to test the edge.

Sophia Voth finished her glass of water and suddenly craved something a bit stronger. As she was ordered not to engage the target until observing for a couple weeks, she decided there would be hardly any reason for her to not have a drink. She stood, stretching languidly, making her way over to the counter. She stood beside the man who had been passed out on the counter. Her eyes passed over his form silently for a bit before turning to the bartender. "Whiskey. Make it two, and make them doubles." She fixed the bartender with a glare that ensured she would get the drinks in a hurry. She turned to the man. "Place not interesting enough for you?"

Sophia Voth snorted slightly as the bartender delivered the two tall whiskeys she had ordered. "Right," she smiled. "Perhaps because I was standing right next to yo buying you a drink." She slid the fresh glass toward him, looking at him from the corner of her eye. She may be here for a reason, but that didn't mean she couldn't have a little bit of fun. She lifted the whiskey in a brief salute before tilting her head back and slowly pouring half of the liquid down her throat, her lips curled into a wicked smile.

Sophia Voth raises her eyebrow. Since when were men concerned with being considered rude? Most of the men that she was surrounded with didn't care. "If you insist, I will not argue." She tilted her head back and drained the glass, turning her attention completely to him. "Marco, eh? You could call me whatever you want, but my name is Sophia." She turned to set the glass on the counter, watching the condensation on the side of the glass slide down and create a ring of water on the wood. "What brings you here, Marco?" She said his name as if trying it on.

Her eyes danced with mirth. Her finger traced his lips slowly, her eyes studying his, her expression teasing. "Do you know anyone I should be after?" Her eyebrow raised questioningly as she turned her head slightly, still looking at him.

Sophia Voth smiles icily as she looked at him, reading him like a book. She glanced to the wall and chuckled. "Those I am after are not on that wall. I am not freelance." She sat back slightly, crossing her legs, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Let us not discuss work." She lifted the glass, wondering what all she could drag out of him. "Tell me something about yourself." She sipped the whiskey, enjoying the flavor of the liquid.

Sophia Voth pursed her lips, looking strangely at him. "Alex, eh?" She scrutinized him. "Yes, it suits you more. Marco doesn't fit you. Alex however... yes, I can see it. Hello Alex. I'm still Sophia." She glanced at his canines. It never ceased to amaze her the type of people she ran into in this place. "Life." She shrugged. "All work and no play makes Sophia a little bit edgy." She lifted the glass to her lips to sip slightly. "And an edgy assassin is... well..." She gestured down at herself. "Like this."

Sophia Voth examines the blade of her dagger carefully before nodding and sheathing it. With a sigh, she reached into her pouch and pulled out her orders, reading them and re-reading them, trying to make some sense of them, to to figure out why her marks were chosen to be assassinated. Normally she didn't care, but in this place, she had never seen such bizarre people. She read the names, whispering them nearly silently to herself. She had yet to locate them, but she knew she was close.

Sophia Voth glanced over to Paul-Henri, absorbing the attitude pouring off of him. She sighed slightly and rolled her eyes, turning her attention back to the pages in her hand. If she were feeling like it, she would give that cocky man a run for his money. She smiled at the idea of it before sipping her juice and turning her attention to the words on the page.

Sophia Voth coughed into her hand to mask a soft laugh. She was thoroughly amused by this show today. Human nature, psychology... this was quite the study. She wrapped her arms around herself and observed, wondering what the jilted suitor would do next.

Sophia Voth examined her fingernails, picking a bit of dried blood from underneath one of them. As entertaining as this place was, she had learned that the majority of information was gathered in the evening. Stretching languidly, she stood and moved to the counter, deciding to treat herself to a drink. She ordered a whiskey, before changing her mind and making it a double. She eyed the people in the bar, wondering how each would die... who would beg for their lives, who would die with dignity. Her eyes fell over Paul-Henri again. He would definitely beg. She smiled as she imagined it, before accepting her drink from the bartender and returning to her booth.
