The Azurian Republic On the outskirts of Terran space, a crew of autonomous construction ships was busy making some sort of interstellar gate. It was a vast structure, which had taken a large amount of time to fully build and it showed. The ring looked large enough to let a capital ship through with room to spare. There were other larger protrusions once could guess would be living quarters after the project was finished. They worked for a few hours, creating materials from nearby asteroids and putting the necessary final pieces into place. Once the gate was completed, the autonomous communicated with each other using flashes of light before backing away from the structure. Then suddenly the autonomous ships exploded, which seemed to herald the activation of the structure. The middle of the ring began to glow with a faint purple light, and then a wormhole opened up between the ring, a purple funnel projecting behind it. Several fighters and cruisers of a model unseen as of yet in the known galaxy exited the wormhole, ready and waiting to greet the outside.

The Azurian Republic The hail was reached by the ships, who hadn't even begun to charge their weapons. On the screen appeared the image of a strange bug-alien who showed no emotion on his face. His eyes darted around rapidly, before settling on the Corporal. "This is Expeditionary Scout Leader Grein Leehey, son of Hive Master Zelen Leehey of the Azurian Republic. We wish no engagement, but I am not of the proper stature to communicate with you Admiral. If you wait for a few moments, someone who can communicate will be here shortly." The bug-alien pressed a button on his console, which seemed to cut off the communication. Seconds later, a capital ship with a large energy weapon taking up most of the body. A human female with blue hair and blond eyes opened communications. I am General Sophia Mirael, of the Azurian Republic. I trust you are Admiral Jalaladdin Karim, correct? May I say, congratulations on the recent sovereignty. Now, I do not wish conflict, only talk. We will not fire unlesss fired upon first, we only used this force in case you were immediately hostile towards us. Thankfully, I see that is not the case." She spoke into a nearby speaker. "Expeditionary Scout Force, half of you can prepare to return. You are not needed." Several other ships turned towards the gate, but did not move, in case such an action would provoke an armed response.

Mirael was decked in a light blue uniform, as crisp and clean as the Admiral's. Her medals were instead adorned on her left shoulder, her left should bearing the insignia. Two swords hung on the wall behind her, one crossed over the other. "Simply put Admiral, I am here as a link back to the Azurian Capital of Ameris. Unil the link between our forces and the Capital is established, I am here merely as a means to get a clear signal if talks can be arranged and to make sure the Gate is protected. I would hate to see such a long project destroyed hours after it was finished. Now as per talks between us, I am capable of dealing with initial diplomatic talks, however the High Minister, Hive Master and Prime Minister would like to speak with your Prime Minister, if at all possible. If not, I do have a diplomat onboard. The signal back to Ameris should be ready now, if you choose the former."

The Azurian Republic "That is fine. I think the 3 can cope with that change in plans." Mirael said. "I apologize for us appearing oyut of nowhere on your doorstop, but we wished to establish a good relationship with the Terran government right off the bat. I hope that this ends with the mutual cooperation between our two governments. Now, I assume the some of the Scouting force is free to depart? A few have to go back and speak with their commanding officers."

Mirael nodded. "Thank you Admiral." She spoke into a speaker. "Expeditionary Scout Forces scheduled to return, you may leave." The purple wormhole opened like it had before, letting half of the Expeditionary Scout Force head home. After the wormhole closed, the General returned her attention to the screen. "I would be honoured to meat Minister Ashkenazi Admiral. If you don't mind, I will also bring the Trade General Grask Hesin. He's the one in charge of trade, both within and without our empire." She turned to the speaker again. "Lieutenant, you're in charge of the Memento Mori while I and the Trade General depart planet-side. I expect the ship to be in better shape then before I left." She turned to the screen. "Where should the meeting take place Admiral?"

"No thank you Admiral. I believe I have all the information needed." The feed cut out as the General made her way to the shuttleport. She spoke into the speaker once again before heading off. "Lieutenant, tell one of the fighters to escort the shuttle I'm about to take to the surface." Without waiting for a reply, she made her way to the shuttleport, taking one of the swords hanging off the wall behind her for protection." A small door opened in the side of the Memento Mori, followed by a single shuttle leaving the ship and being followed by a fighter that didn't seem to have any weapons on the surface and was shaped like a stealth bomber."

They flew at a slow pace, leaving the Memento Mori up by the gate. Following all directions given by the ground team, they landed safely, Mirael and another bug-alien clad in red robes with gold trim. The fighter's cockpit opened, and a bipedal lizard wearing a pilot's suit with a pistol and a small metal cube attached to the hip. They stood, waiting for further directions from the Terran government.

The Azurian Republic Mirael, Hesin and the pilot both offered their own bows, the pilot's bi lower in accordance with his lower station compared to the others. "Thank you Mister Fazari and thank Mister Ashkenazi for the warm welcome." Mirael said. Hesin nodded energetically, his eyes darting around faster than normal. The pilot's eyes also looked around, but in a slower more controlled speed. He was checking out the environment, while Hesin was merely excited. Mirael entered the vehicle first, followed by Hesin and then the pilot who took a few extra moments before getting in. Once in the car, Hesin's three-fingered hands fidgeted nervously, smoothing out his robe even in areas that were already respectable. He was out of his element on this one.

The Azurian Republic Mirael nodded. "Yes, it was altogether pleasant. Very few disturbances; I think the Silents managed enough mana for such a journey, which I commend them for. As for the journey to the planet it was pleasant also. You have remarkably efficient air traffic control, might I add." The three buckled their seatbelts and waited for their drive to come to an end. When Ahmad's phone vibrated, she nodded. "It's quite alright Mister Farazi." The bug-alien seemed to be calming down in that he was no longer fidgeting, although his eyes were still looking around the car.

The Azurian Republic Mirael smiled back, the corners of her mouth tightening. "I can understand the need for security. Things have been remarkably turbulent haven't they? As for accommodations, I think we will stay overnight. I'm sure the Lieutenant will be capable of handling the forces while I'm away. Besides, I wish vto see this fascinating planet of yours." She observed the Terran flah, and a felt a sense of pride for Terra. In such a short time, they had established themselves as an independent entity after several centuries of occupation by various forces. It was truly a marvel. She returned her attention to Ahmad. "I apologize for not bringing a "true" Moneran as others of my kind are known. A flesh-and-blood human whose consciousness hasn't been downloaded into a robotic body like myself is sadly a rarity nowadays. Still, the Minister of Technology was busy and apologizes he could not come himself."

The Azurian Republic "Thank you very much Mister Farazi. A tour of your intact natural wonders sounds wonderful." The use of the word intact suggested that Mirael knew very well that a lot of them had been irrevocably destroyed. She studied the buildings as they passed them by. She had been told that Terra had only recently gained sovereignty but she had had no idea that it had been this recently. This had been an opportune time for them indeed. "I'll be sure to bring him on my next visit. He expressed great interest in visiting Terra and it's many wonders." she said.

The Azurian Republic Mirael and the pilot observed the scene with impunity, her ears perking up at her accommodations. "If the name is any indication, it must truly be a grand place." A tone of respect there. Hesin finally seemed to be settling down and getting used to his surroundings. Now his look of anxiety was replaced with a look of curiosity. Sure he had been briefed on Terra's appearance but it was a whole other matter seeing all these things up close and personal. It was so much similar to the capital, yet in some respects it was much more different. He couldn't see any mages wandering around in military garbs for one, and there seemed to be fewer species that weren't human. A fascinating place indeed; he was looking forward to securing trade agreements.

The Azurian Republic Mirael listened intently, absorbing the information given to her. "We too have some older architecture. Some of it -the Vee-reyo Hive Tower especially- are turly magnificent. You should really visit some of them." When the door opened, the rest unbuckled their seat-belts as well, the pilot exiting first followed by Hesin and then Mirael. She bowed towards Ahmad and said. "Lead the way Mister Fazari. I am eager to meet the Minister and explain the situation to him."

The Azurian Republic The pilot followed, slightly ahead of Mirael and Hessin so that he could shield them in case of attack. The pilot's uniform was simple; he wore a blue pilot's suit with emblems on his shoulder. These consisted of two crosshairs set above two fireballs. They were sewn directly into the left shoulder of the pilot, and if one could look closely, it seemed the pilot's eyes glowed with a faint blue light. Hessin's red and gold cloak was also adorned with symbols of coins down the sleeves of his robes. Mirael's uniform mirrored Ahmad's a crisp navy blue with a darker blue jacket over-top. The three walked along the marble floor, seeing the splendor, but also hearing the emptiness. This building wasn't yet ready, if there were few people within it. She waited with Ahmad for the elevator to arrive.

The Azurian Republic The three followed Ahmad through the bustling hallways. This area, in contrast to the previous one, seemed to be in full force. It was evident that not everything was fully prepared. Mirael saw the hushed conversations as they approached, and the stares and wondered if this operation had truly been a good idea. She shook her head. Even though they had been isolated from the rest of the galaxy for so long, that was no excuse for them to not establish relations with Terra. Traditions were meant to be broken after all.

Mirael shook Ashkenazi's hand, gripping it firmly. She said. "Thank you very much Minister Ashkenazi for the wonderful welcome. I trust we haven't proved to be too much of a bother to you and I'm sorry for dropping in unannounced. We just felt that we could help you in many areas, and what better way to announce ourselves to the rest of the galaxies then supporting one of the newest governments? I am General Sophia Mirael, this here is Trade General Grask Hesin, and the pilot beside me is Second Lieutenant Bok Haran." Hesin also shook the Minister's hand. "A pleasurrrrre to meet you Ministerrrr Ashkanazi. Truly, I have neverrrrr seen a morrrrre rrrrremarrrakable planet." Bok Haran shook the Minister's hand and bowed as well. "It is an honour to meet you sir."

The Azurian Republic The three returned the eye contact, although Hesin's was less than the other two. They took their seats, Bok making sure to take the seat that gave him the lowest ranking with the other two. Mirael took the seat directly in the middle, resting her hands on the seat-rests. "Tea, if possible. Strong with some sugar." she said. Hesin looked at Ashkenazi and said. "Waterrrr will be fine, thank you." Bok waited for the other two to speak and added "Water will be fine as well, Minister." Mirael carefully surveyed the area, looking for potential escape routes and the quickest way to cover. The process was almost instinctual for her; her training as a soldier before she ascended and became an officer was ingrained within her. For a relatively recent government, they looked like they had everything under control for the moment.

The Azurian Republic Mirael leaned forward, as did Hesin while Bok leaned back in the chair, apparently content to relax for the moment since the two people he was supposed to be guarding didn't seem in immediate danger. Mirael spoke first. "Our primary interest is to conduct trade with Terra, to help it grow economically and to help us grow as well. We have remained a closed system for too long. In order to prosper we need to talk to our intergalactic neighbors. We also wish to engage in military co-operation as well if possible to help protect Terra and make sure it remains stable." Hesin spoke next, the bug's mandibles making a brief clicking noise. "The details of the trrrade agrrrrements can be set now or laterrrr, whicheverrrrr you wish."

The Azurian Republic Mirael and the others thanked Ahmad briefly before returning to the desk. Mirael drew the cup and took a brief sip, the others doing the same with their water. It was perfect; she made it a personal mission to find out what the brew was after. Right now was scarcely the right time for it. "Hesin, I believe this is more your jurisdiction?" The trade general nodded and said "Quite" before placing a small disk on the table. With a press of a button tree figures, one of a humanoid lizard with the title Azurian under it, a humanoid insect with Veela, and a robotic body with Moneran. "Our government is split into three groups. Azurians, Veela and Monerans. We each deal with our own problems, with our leaders coming together to deal with issues that impact the empire as a whole. Each of them, through me trades different things. Azurians have ores and minerals mostly, us Veela are traders in medicines and cybernetics, and Monerans trade in computers and weaponry. We also, on a limited basis, can give you some of our soldiers on a limited basis. We have Mages," a robed Azurian appeared from the desk, throwing fireballs and lightning with ease, followed by 2 more, each showing off defensive & healing along with summoning (putting spirits into objects to animate them). "and Horizons". A Veela showed up, performing several feets of accuracy before turning invisible. "What we would like in return is simple. We would like rights to colonize planets near the outside of your borders. Trading through a wormhole has some issues involved with it."

The Azurian Republic Hesin said. "Of course, any military technology would have to be done between militaries. We have no intention to make your criminals any more advanced then they already are at the moment. As for the colonization efforts, we're perfectly fine leaving the Sol system alone. That is yours and we don't wish to intrude on your own growth. If you're interested about specific technologies we have these available." As he brought up each thing, an image of it was brought up. "Monerans move their consciousness into a robotic body at the age of 18 and can choose a new body. The Monerans have spare bodies that can act like regular robots, and are cheaply manufactured. We also have light mechs useful for surveillance in that they have specialized sensors and detection system that can help locate enemies on a battlefield on an urban environment. It can see reflections off of a person's eyes at the proper settings. Finally we have RM rounds, which are regular bullets that are made of a material that explodes upon impact based on the way they're constructed. We have others, but these are the ones we are comfortable with letting out at this moment."

The Azurian Republic Hesin spoke. "What we are suggesting Minister is a little bit in the middle between those two. For regular commodities including medicine, ores and cybernetics among other things the trade would (we hope) be both. The weapons we would like to be traded specifically between governments as we don't wish for these technologies to get into the criminal element. Basically a contract which allows private trade for everything allowed by your law to be privately traded, and government contracts for other objects."

The Azurian Republic Hesin nodded, saying. "The first two could be given to the police and the military, while the RM ammo we'd like to just be in use by the military. We'd prefer it if this remained a secret as much as possible. Are the Ministers Guzman and Khmatai available, or are they already predisposed. If they are, we can simply talk about trade in things other than weapons. Although we do promise, if this proves fruitful and Terra proves trustworthy -which I have no doubt it will- that there is much more in store concerning this. Anyhow, for the trade agreements, how would we go about getting the Parliament to consider them?"

Now, for the trade proposal, should we go over the details now, or wait until a later date if you're too busy right now. Once again, thank you Minister Ashkenazi for accepting our proposal. We'll bring world back to the Homeworld within the hour of ending negotiations, if you wish to discuss nothing else."

The Azurian Republic Mirael drove in a jet-black limousine to Fort Veritas. She had just been contacted by the Azurian government about a proposed military engagement which would be focused around the current crisis. She had been advised to seek aid from the Terran government concerning this matter, but was also told their assistance was optional. Still, she'd try to get their assistance in this matter, if only as a decoy. The limousine pulled up a gate, where it was scanned from top to bottom, and where her weapons and the weapons of the bodyguards riding with her were confiscated. It mattered little for most of them; some Horizons and Veelan'Quen could kill as well with their hands if necessary.

At the second checkpoint they were ordered to leave the vehicle, and were each individually patted down and scanned thoroughly. The all clear signal was given, and the group was lead inside the building. While, inside she was struck by how drab the entire was. Sure there was an occasional window here or there to let in the light, and there were some carpets at various intervals with bright patterns, but the entire place seemed sterile to her. The security cameras, motion detectors and scanners every so often didn't help matter. The group (consisting of Mirael and her twelve guards) were lead into a reception area where they were told to wait for the Grand General. Several armed guards populated the walls of the room, making it clear that the people running this building didn't want any screw-ups from their guests.
