"Anything my superior expects of me: I record, I deliver."

History

Engineered for one purpose, one job, one role: The Bookkeeper is the assistant to the brain behind Singularity, helper to the multitude of 'neurons' that each have their own judgement.

Singularity places order and chaos to systems. It is comprised of intellectuals who have ideas powerful enough to change society, technology, and paranormal approaches in the Multiverse; Singularity operates as a covert group that 'introduces' and improves these ideas with subtlety.

The Bookkeeper stepped inside the establishment with shuffled steps. Deep wrinkles lined his face, dripping with perspiration. He looked towards the Gray Owl, and then turned sharply away. Holding a book in his left hand, he dabbled a handkerchief to his forehead a few times, wiping off the wet sheen that had accumulated there. He gripped his book a little more tightly as he walked to the side, towards a booth.

The Bookkeeper sat down at the booth quickly. His limbs rattled with nervousness as he opened the book on the table only to reveal it was empty. With an empty fountain pen, he began writing, occasionally wiping a film of sweat off his forehead with his handkerchief. The pen-strokes didn't seem to make sense at all.

He cast an occasional fearful stare around the tavern.

The Bookkeeper stopped 'writing' temporarily, taking a moment to rub the dull pain out of his fingers. His hands trembled, and his lip quivered. Leaving the book at the table, he walked towards the counter to grab a bottle of brandy and a glass, making sure to keep his head down.
