Having managed to arrive at her destination after a harsh climb and braving the elements, she was finally here. The biggest non-evil library on Terra. The other was little more difficult to even attempt entrance, unless she was certain it contained the knowledge she desired. For now she had enough food and supplies to be here a few days reading over the old scrolls and books to find information regarding the old civilizations and nations. There were some mentions in various books about them, including one of the more well known due to scrap and such usually turning up at locales, that of course being the Macluan Nation. Little was known about their fall, only that there technology had surpassed even that of the tyranny of Aschen Empire. Of course finding technology would be a boon, but most who had it were private collectors or smugglers. The price alone for the stuff was within quandruple digits and even if you discovered it, most tech nowadays would need to be expertly customized to equip to the ships. Of course she was studying all fallen nations.

As to why she a person like she looked would find herself performing such a challenge, it was simple enough basically she had found a very rare book in a shop recently detailing how before the nations of today in the galaxy and outside, there were older, older than most knew in the history. The book had little detail on them, but had pointed her to different authors to provide a rewarding read, still little answers. Thus she had decided to search this place being it was an old structure perhaps it has information regarding this very story.

To many, she did not look like the adventure type, in fact she was an enigma, but there was a story about her, her appearance was not mere chance, it was how at one time people looked. Her interest of history was created by this event as well as the whole prospect of new knowledge. To many her pale skin and antiquated appearance gave suggestions of being more like doll than human, thus to many associates in her field, she was known as 'The China Doll' of course unlike China she did not break easily and actually could do things most people where she was from had never dreamed. Nonetheless, she was here now, so where to begin, the task was utterly daunting.

The Library was not empty and as The China Doll made her way inside she would be confronted by a friendly face with a load of books in hand and a rather peculiar outfit that seemed just as dated as her own.

"Hello, greetings and salutations, I doubted I would see yet another face at this old façade but then again the lure of knowledge is rather tempting." The Dark haired man simply offered a little smile as he turned his attention down towards his destination only to set the stack of books he was carrying down upon an old table.

"Roy! We have company, a rather lovely lady no less." The Dark haired man simply began to chuckle as he turned himself more towards the woman who arrived at the temple. He gave a mock gesture of respect and simply left his arms open as if offering all that she saw before her.

""I am Arden Maximof, Sorcerer by nature and inquisitive at heart, might I perchance ask what your name is my fair lady?"

A little surprised she partially jumped only half, before giving a formal polite curtsey. After that she walked over, "My name matters little in this time, but being you asked so graciously, you shall hear. My name is Loretta Burrows. I am charmed to meet such a gentlemen even in ruins, perhaps there is hope for this world now." chuckling she moved over to a shelf and pulled out a bundle of scrolls, which she took to a nearby table and opened up, "My concerns are little more directed. I am attempting to find information on the forgotten older nations. I have found some information regarding this, including finding out they all had ambassadors on Jarrako Downs, whatever that is. But outside of that and name of one... Macluan there is very little data on them, thus I intend to find all I can and publish what I learn." taking a pause she sat herself down at the desk and pulled open one of the scrolls, at once it flew across the room, "As much as I wish to learn dark eldritch secrets, I must focus, but you are welcome to read that one..."

A few scrolls later having been flung across the room, she brightened, "Ah this is something, there is a place called Metro City that once was centre of Terra, but after a huge calamity most information was lost about it." taking a breath in excitment she immediately added, "Now I wonder could this place contain information it says the area was essentially bombed so much that the whole landmass is radioactive, hmm... perhaps not..."

Arden smirked but Roy who stepped out fully to see the newcomer gawked in terror as she simply tossed aside several scrolls. Even though they were dark the knowledge hidden within was valuable regardless of the danger the posed. After all they where stored within these archives for a reason.

"Are you kidding me!" Roy groaned as he ran over to collect the scrolls. The alchemist only hoped that the velum of the scrolls had not been torn asunder by such reckless care. "Arden! Help me. This blustering......foppish....Why in the seven Hells is she dressed like you?! Do you both not realize how cold it is around here?" Roy blustered on as he stood looking at the two in Victorian garb. The Alchemist himself was in a heavy jacket that was open along with a long pair of pants and boots. His trusty bag of invaluable goods had the insignia of the Order he was from and even the Bar that he now worked at.

"Roy, my good man, relax. Doubtless the scrolls survived her little onslaught but I assure you she most likely did not mean to damage whatever research materials you where after." Arden simply waved off his concerned and pointed to the stack of tomes he procured from a nearby shelf.

"I happen to have found maps and other information. I imagine that this would help wonders in your research and that...." Arden was cut off as Roy suddenly threw his bag to the side with a loud thud while simultaneously casting several spells to mend and make the scrolls whole once more. "You know Arden I doubt this partnership will last much longer. You promised that this locale would give me insight of the monster that took my child. The longer we stand for idle conversation the less time I have."

Roy simply shook his head and turned to look over the scrolls. The young mans eyes began to glow an ominoius yellow color as he quickly deciphered the archaic text. The Alchemist had little time for pleasantries as he moved from one text to the next. Arden quickly turned to the young lady only to look over what she had found. "I apologies for my companion, children can be a unique hassle, he is looking for his son and I agreed to help him...Ms. Burrows. Prey tell is that a star map? Not the one you are looking at now but the one just underneath it?"

Immediately her eyes lit up in interest and she walked over ignoring the other with a slight sigh, "That is debatable, my experience those who pursue such dark knowledge generally end up being hurt by it. In fact a Necromancer I met once in my travels came to awful fate when he tried to use some knowledge he had gathered from Dead Sea, ancient scrolls and tablets, the poor man--- he was very polite and utterly charismatic, much like the devil. Anyway his house was flattened supposedly he grew impatient and tried to use the tablets without understanding them. It was such an awful clean-up, so many dead. Many fine excellent individuals, really was a blow to our Occult Society, although he had been warned we did not understand those tablets. Poor Victor, alas." chuckling she appeared to be comparing Roy with this fool."

Approaching the table, she noted there were a lit more helpful books here, making such challenges of learning more here, really promising, "I can't thank you enough Mr Maximoff. I am also trying to understand why these nations are no longer around, because they all vanished round about same time, well some a few years apart, but such an event is unprecedented, it would be like if there had been two nations of Atlantis and both vanished with one another so closely together." listening his remark she giggled a rather posh one, less girlish and more joyful, "Oh yes Mr Maximoff I am well aware of children, many a suitor was upset to learn I myself don't wish for children. Of course it is sad he has lost his own, hopefully they can be found... Nonetheless dark arts is not the way to find them... I know other stories..." before she could add, her eyes were turned towards the star map, immediately she lift it up and started studying, "Well that is one mystery, Jarrako Downs is a space-station, my oh my the plot thickens, so how does it connect to the fall of these nations..."

Roy began to grumble a few draconic words that could only be translated as a few nasty words one should never say in polite company or rather infront of a lady. Arden however simply turned and began to trace a few stars in a rather strange pattern.

"Indeed, it seems that Jarrako Downs is something, however I was more drawn to this little notion here." The gentleman sorcerer continued to trace the stars till their dark specks on the old map began to glow revealing their arcane origin. "It is a star map to a particular region of space. I do believe that with this bit of knowledge Roy and I can finally part ways so that he may retrieve his boy." Arden began to chuckle as Roy walked over to inspect the map only to suddenly grimace as his knew the location but could not believe it to be real.

"Arden, this is the entrance to the plane of negative energy, I cannot simply stepped in without the proper protection."

Continuing to study the map she did notice the magical influences and even in her focus she was attracted to such wonder. But nonetheless she kept reading trying to pin point information. The star charts were great, for finding the places, but she needed far more information before continuing her research. Still it was a start, but how to utilize this information. Evidently more research was required, "Mr Maximoff I can't thank you enough, but this raises more questions. Why this space station so important to these places and why is it in so much of the texts I am afraid I have less answered than truly desired. Yes I know what Jarrako Downs is, but I was hoping some of these records could perhaps even describe or begin to detail the other nations..." growling in frustration put her head in her hands, and breathed heavily.

For a time she said nothing, "I have one more piece, there were six nations and one is Macluan. Though for the life of me I can't find what planet they were situated on nor how vast their empires were... as much I hate it, I may need to go through Aschen archives unless I can find more informations... I am so close I know it... but I won't head to that space station without actual answers..."

Arden smiled at the inquisitive nature of the young woman. If there was anything he could offer in the way of answers he simply shrugged and left a calling card.

"Then I think this is time for us to part ways." Arden gave a mock bow only to offer a warm smile as a goodbye while Roy got his things together and opened up a rather strange portal against one of the bare walls. Soon the two of them would leave and make their way over to the next locale.
