The Valojelea

Valo is finnish for Light, Jelea is Basque for Jelly

0 · 3,427 views · located in Ridgecrest City

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by lostamongtrees

Description

Link to source for image.

They come from here,
They come from there,
They float on in from everywhere.

Personality

Nocturnal creatures, they flock to activity
Feeding off of positive energy.
Whenever the scene is set aglow by these things,
It's surely a riotous time.
The curious creatures act as lamps,
They guide the way for those who are lost.
However, be cautious:
They like to play tricks.

Equipment

Zap
An electrical charge will be sent through whomever they
choose to lay their tentacles on in a negative fashion.

Light Burst
A sudden flash that temporarily blind anyone who
looks directly into the light. The more of them, the
brighter the flash. This is often used as an escape
mechanism. Immediately following the flash, the
creatures will grow completely translucent and
devoid of any internal light. This aids the defense
mechanism, obviously.

Glow
Naturally, they glow, and cannot help it - but can control
how they glow to an extent, pulsing patterns and
blinking codes to one another- as well as in alarm, alert,
or warning to those around them

Healing Goo
Their bodies have a healing property on other organic matter.

Light Transfer
They can transfer light into objects that are
able to hold light, such as lamps. The light will
remain for roughly three minutes.

So begins...

In the distance, seven lights bobbled along the horizon. They were a strange sort of light, not fire or electric, and didn't maintain congruity in their movements. Surely they were approaching the ruins, silently luminescent.

The lights approached, albeit slowly, in a curious manner. Some of the lights detached from the main group, drifting here or there. They always found their way back, however, and the group of seven wandered closer to the ruins.

The Valojelea drifted through the air of ruins, casting eerie shadows as they made their way towards the voices. Dipping in and out of the broken structure, they did a lazy kind of dance. One would arrive before the others, who were all too amused by the shadows they cast. It was a jellyfish, of sorts, it's blobulating top the size of a basket ball. The creature still stayed somewhat away from the humans, but was certainly in plain sight. Glowing.

As positive vibes began to build, the valojelea swam closer. And closer. And closer.

Illuminating the pillar that the pair were by, it hung in the air. A glowing jellyfish with no water.

The Valojelea simply watched, and as he watched the others began to gather around. They all were watching now, a cluster of light. Some big, some small, all of them glowing. A mobile with no strings, the valojelea carefully weaved around each other, some of them even circled the pillar.

But they were most certainly paying attention to the two.

The Valojelea continued to weave around the pillar, forming patterns of light while their tentacles trailed behind. They had lost interest in the humans, having found a new sport, and began to pick up pace.

They continued to weave around the pillar, until one grew bored. Soon, many of them realized this boredom. Glowing in the night, they set off across the landscape.

A blob of light floated past a window, then another a few moments later. Two more would happen across, then another four.

They slipped in through the door as someone left, five of them fluidly bobbing through the air. Hovering, they remained in the entrance...five glowing jellyfish suspended in the air.

The light up blobs were not real jellyfish. They were Valojelea, a magical sort of aquatic thing that existed in the air instead of the water. A curious bunch they were, too. Drifting from each other, the creatures wade through the air of the bar. This bunch had never been indoors before, and were quite enjoying their reflections on everything glass.

Three made their way to the bar counter, drawn to the assortment of shiny bottles. The other two bopped along happily towards the ceiling to play with their shadows.

Way up high, two of the strange glowing creatures danced. Weaving in and out of each other they manipulated the shadows they cast in the most entertaining manner. Their patterns of motion became more complex with each passing minute. The shadows jumped and faded into themselves, trickery of light the valojelea's favorite game. The two forms blinked opposite of each other, one always more illuminated than the other. Sometimes they would even splay their tentacles, whirling around to create kaleidoscope patterns of shadow and light.

Over by the bar, the three other valojelea had become most intrigued with the bottles of alcohol. All of them carried the light differently, probably due to the different shapes and colors. Excitedly, two floated their way along behind the bar, mingling with the bottles.

The third took more interest in the other creatures that were there, lazily flowing closer to them than the shiny bottles. An appendage, a stiff tentacle of sorts, appeared to be extending towards him. Silently the creature lowered itself, main body mass pluming from the effort. He supposed he would let this strange being touch him, if only out of curiosity to see what the strange appendages felt like. There seemed to be no reason to flip his tentacles around and shock the being, at least not yet.

A light floated by a window, followed by another. It wasn't like a lamp, or a beacon, more of a glow stick. What would appear most odd to those who caught the illuminated motions, were that the lights seemed to be bobbling through the air. More of them brushed by the panes, drawing closer and closer to that open window over there.

The windows were filled with fuzzy glowing orbs that hovered just beyond their hazed glass. Closer they came to that window, until finally, one of the lights popped through.

It was bioluminescence, not light by any humanesque design, in the form of something most usually found under sea. A jellyfish, a glowing jellyfish, hovered into the bar. It gently shifted through the air, as another popped through the window behind it. The second gravitated towards the first, which was slowly making its way towards the other life forms.

Valojelea, as the creatures were known, were curious beings that existed in the air as if it were water.

Soon, more of them began to enter through the window, moving with the slightest bit more haste.

Presumably during the commotion, the Valojelea had gathered themselves at the ceiling, illuminating what rafters were there sometimes, and sometimes not there, depending on who you asked on what day.

The Valojelea descended from their cluster near the ceiling, curious by the commotion.

The continued to bobble between people, a few exploding in a fleshy bioluminescent display as bullets coursed through them.

“ Good evening Terra, this is Malcom David Piers, with TERRACAST.

Last night, the infamousGambit's Bar was subject to a terrorist attack. Patrons of the bar took cover under tables and hid, few able to escape unscathed.
The terrorists opened fire into the bar, with the intent to kill all non humans.

The NPA, was quick to arrive, immediately taking on terrorist bombs. A firefight emerged, many non-human citizens taking to defensive arms. According to witnesses, suicide bombers were among the ranks of terrorists.

Fortunately the situation was contained. TheWing City Police department showed and saved the day. Despite this there were many injuries, but few casualties. Frequent customers of Gambit's voiced their distaste at the scene of the crime, and many seem disturbed by the random attack.

Is Gambit's bar a safe location, and more importantly, is the supernatural citizen of Wing City safe?

The three that had survive the terrorist attack on Gambit's days prior were finally done lingering in the kitchen. Glowing, they emerged, cautiously bobbling towards the ceiling. Once at a reasonable height, the valojelea felt comfortable observing their surroundings.

It was certainly quieter, the bioluminescent organisms must have thought.

The Valojelea floated out of the bar, two of them followed by four more. The fleshy lanterns bobbled down the street, gravitating towards a pool of blood. Some went towards the sky, fascinated by the lights on the street.

How did they get here?

The valojelea weren't quite certain, nor did they care. Something had drawn them to this spot.

At least a hundred filed in, from which direction was not certain. They gently swayed with the winds of the waves, reflecting on the foam in play. Curious creatures, the valojelea were, and some even descended into the waters. These did glow from just beneath the surface, popping up every now and then with a small splash of glee. Soon, many more joined in on the act, blooping in and out of the water.

What a spectacle it must have been, on a night as clear as this. The stars in the sky, planets far and close twinkling, satellites and space ships blinking, while on fluctuating surface of the Solinus Sea light danced. Splish, splash, a harmony of flashes, the jellies taking pattern and swarming through the sea. They skit their tentacles across the surface, they were bulbous on the waves, they dove in and out like dolphins, the valojelea were at play.
