Today was the day he'd been promising her for some time, and with a smile he finished with the last of his own garments - the Emperor looked every bit the part of an old Belkan knight from before the unification, clad in garb fitting of his station. Of certain interest was the steel breastplate he wore, more for decoration than anything else, intricate, gilded designed ornamented its surface. If anything he hoped it pleased the Empress, taking a moment to put on an arming cap before donning a sallet, one as equally decorated as the breastplate and gorget he wore.

At his left hip rested a Belkan longsword, and on his right a pistol often found as a standard sidearm for his guard, though neither of these would be what he was to hunt with, were it that he had his way. Oh no, that would be the lance nearby, only the tip proving uninsulated, as it bore quite the electric current.

Something that might be of use with today's quarry.

Still, he would not be hunting anything if his wife didn't come soon - and he hoped that she would, Josef having found a particularly feisty piece of game for the both of them today. Imported from the Milky Way, of all places.

Wing came shortly, dressed considerably less formally, wearing, in truth, a dress and only a dress that she would shed shortly, the 'saddle' that would be on her back waiting for them nearby. "Josef." She greeted him with a kiss on his cheek, clearly all too pleased.

"We have a new quarry! I'm excited. I hope it will be a challenge." She confessed, wanting that all too much. Her Josef did provide, of course, so she was certain it would be all too much fun. It normally was. He did indulge her violence so kindly. "Do I get to know any details, or is it to be a surprise?"

She just wanted to have fun. Their quarry would have come to about an hour ago, having no doubt been sedated then dropped off. She smiled and imagined the thrill of the hunt already.

"And is that a new lance?" Certainly different than his usual one, it seemed. They'd no doubt be dropped off in the preserve soon by the Travelers. It would be fun, and hopefully the chase would be just as much fun.

"Wing, darling." He turned to her at the sound of her voice, gladly accepting her kiss on his cheek and returning one on hers. The Emperor smiled with the bill on his helmet turned up, putting gentle arms around his wife for a moment as he pondered on whether he should tell her just yet. No... perhaps it would be better to wait, all the more reason for her to adore the chase. From what he understood, that was the entire point, too.

"It will be quite a surprise, just for my Empress." The man grinned, letting her go that she might see to getting ready for the hunt herself. "It is, I think it might be of use in... subduing our prey." Considering it would be rather violent - a quality he had looked for, just for her. She did so enjoy a fight.

"Now, shall I get the saddle, darling?"

She smiled and removes her clothing in response shifting to her huge twenty foot long natural form and crouching so he might saddle her, so he could ride without fear of falling. It had a higher back as well, to he might use the lances without being knocked out of his seat.

Cursed uncomfortable though. That much was the truth. Wing allowed it simply because it was him. Ha any other even suggested it, well, they would be hunted next.

Still, a surprise, and a special lance to subdue it. Wing was excited. She hoped there would be a good fight in it all for her. Something to get the adrenaline up before she devoured their prey.

He moved to take the saddle and moved it over his wife's natural form, settling it onto her back before seeing that it was strapped on comfortably, taking time to gentle stroke at her neck and nuzzle what amounted to a cheek in this form, apologizing verbally for putting her through this as well. "... I know it's not very nice, darling. I fear I know no other way to keep up with you." Nothing that didn't require a vehicle of some kind, at least.

A God he might have been, but one in a slow, mortal coil.

Still, soon enough everything was finished, and with one more brief trip to get his lance and lean it against Wing's form, he mounted her back, having to leap to get his first foot into the stirrup. Afterwords though, everything proved a might easier. "... let's see about having some fun, then."

[color=black]Time had always been a difficult thing for Kilja to grasp and measure, even under normal circumstances. There was no measuring just how long she had been weaving in and out of a muddled conscious state. The last thing she could clearly remember was a moment of staggering disbelief as she started to drop to the ground--hitting a state of complete black before she even hit it. As she stirred, rolling to get her elbows under her, she had an uncertain sense that the ground she was on was not the ground she had fallen to, and that there may have been several days between when she fell then and when she woke now.

Crimson pupils constricted sharply as she brought her eyes into focus. She squinted at the faint dappling of sunlight across the ground, bowing her head as she pushed herself to all fours. Her ears laid back, and she stretched open her massive jaws, hearing a soft crack as her maw opened as wide as it could. She licked her lips a few times, aware that her jaws had somehow been bound at length recently. With a shake of her head and a few slow steps forward, she began to feel a little bit more balanced and aware. She straightened up onto her hind legs.

The creature that had been brought to Kampf and Wing for a little murderous rollick stood at a height just short of that of a small one-story house. Her jaws could easily accommodate a newborn infant, and she could--with some manageable difficulty--proceed to swallow it whole, should she desire. The beast was wound in almost solid muscle, then coated in luxuriously white fur--which would, under normal circumstances, be as pristine as the snow she was better suited for, save for that her captors had not bothered to bathe her since subduing her. Old blood stains and traces of urine marred her coat.

She surveyed her surroundings, finding herself in a stand of trees. Beyond, there was a clearing. Her nose tilted to the air as her ears swiveled about curiously. One of her paws absently ran through the len

length of fur running from her head and down through her hackles. It was mostly loose, save for several braids randomly placed into it. Out of frustration, she yanked her claws through the tangles before dropping back to all fours. She had always been more comfortable moving in this way when she was in her war-form--and so, she regained her natural grace as soon as she began moving properly. She turned her attention to the scent and sound of water, hoping that she might at least clean herself up before figuring out just what it was that brought her here...

Kilja was wholly oblivious to the fact that--for once--she was to be game.

She purred for him, o reassure him and stood, careful of the lance. A traveler arrived, and gently transported the two of them to the preserve. It was here that their quarry would be, somewhere in here. And she understood the saddle, for him. One day, she might talk him into the special serum, but it would be some time before she could, she was certain. Then they could easily both keep up with each other.

Wing purred and settled on the ground as the Traveler disappeared, nose down as she searched for the scent of their prey. No doubt that soon she'd pick up on the foreign scent, imported especially for her pleasure. Her darling spoiled her with imported game on occasion.

More often than not, their quarry was some convict, and she'd end up killed him and that night they camped out, cooked his flesh, and ate it together. She tried not to eat too much in the initial fun times. It did happen, on occasion however. Those days she tended to find smaller game for her husband to skin and eat, as she couldn't really shift back to join him.

Josef remained atop of her, lance couched in his arm as he rested, back straight as the territory of the preserve played out before them, the arid terrain of Himmselsreich giving way to some greenery here near the equator. It was amazing what a river or two could do, really. Still, his Scatterran eyes couldn't pick out much, at least in comparison to her eyes - a dust-devil, a breeze in the leaves, and perhaps a bird here or there. It was curious how useless the primary sense of his species became when exposed to such grandeur.

But then there was but a simple flash of white to their right - a color unnatural to the land here - and Josef blinked. Could that have been some bird, native to the rivers here that they did not see in the deep desert, at their capital? His spare hand wrapped behind his back to his satchel, removing the binoculars he carried and brought them up to his eyes, the visor of Josef's sallet still up.

With a brief scan of the terrain, a few moments to reacquire the source of the white, he soon confirmed his initial thoughts.

"I have it, darling. On our right, about seventy degrees, on all fours. Moving..." He paused, watching it. "... south by southwest."

Kilja moved through the trees, her ears flicking too and fro as her nose led her along. The scents were all wrong, she discovered--and she began to wonder if, perhaps, they had not done something that might have damaged her sense of smell. Her eyes roved over fallen leaves, and even their shape did not lend much in the way of familiarity. All was not right. She was not entirely sure she had actually woken up...

As she found a thin stream babbling over smooth, dark grey stones, Kilja bowed her head to greedily lap at the water. Her eyes squeezed shut in absolute pleasure as the cool water was captured by her dry tongue and slid down her parched throat. She stepped forward, placing her forepaws into the stream for a moment before she crouched, splashing herself all over with the water. It was then that she paused, reaching back over her shoulder as she realized...

Cold horror and fiery rage struck her like lightning. Her whole body went stiff as her claws ran through her hackles, and she found that her grand klaive was not there. A low, thunderous rumble rose in her chest, and reality came crashing in on her. Her lips pulled back and she snarled a curse in her native tongue, suddenly casting about all around her as she recognized--to some degree--what had happened.

Blood pounding, she took a better look around her. Her ears were pricked and straining so hard they almost hurt. Her teeth ground as she tried to harness the fury inspired at having found her klaive stolen.

...yet she would not see her hunters for a while. An albino's eyes weren't made for seeing in significant detail, nor at a distance.

Excellent! Wing took off running, catching the scent shortly and following it as well as her darling's directions Oh yes, she could smell their prey, and it smelled fierce...and fun to hunt. Certainly more of a challenge than their usual game of a Scatterran convict. She purred loudly, pleased as she raced careful to pace herself least it be a long hunt.

Her darling's sharp eyes had spotted their prey. Now it was up to her to catch them up to it, so they might hunt the beast to its death together. There! She spotted their prey with her eyes, near the stream they often used for their own fresh water. The fool hadn't realized that it was the prey! Well, it no doubt soon would, and she'd get to test the beasts mettle to be certain.

Wing launched herself in a powerful leap close to the white beast and screamed forth a challenge, loud, no doubt, especially to her Josef's ears. It was meant to be heard for miles, after all.

No doubt her love would soon tease her about it. She did get into their playtime so.

The Garou's sharp ears twitched toward Wing, even before the cry rent the air. Her eyes may be dim, but her ears seemed all the sharper for it, and she heard the pounding of Wing's feet as she charged toward her. The war wolf's head jerked to look toward her hunters, and her suspicions were confirmed. There were still shady details to figure out, but now was not the most important of times to do so. Her hunger, thirst, and aches forgotten, Kilja allowed herself to slip into a mindset she was most comfortable with...

Her rage at losing her grand klaive surged through her--and so potent was it that it had a state-altering affect upon her. She perceived the situation with a kind of slow-motion clarity that made more sense to her than the rest of life did. War was what she was born and raised on. There was not a doubt in her mind that she would find victory here.

As Wing leaped toward her, Kilja dug her back paws in and sprang across the stream, catching herself on her forepaws and twisting around to face her hunters, sizing them up and trying to discern the best course of action in less than a heartbeat.

Josef returned the glasses quickly to his satchel, knowing how eager his wife could be, and leaning close down against her he held on by her fur. With a nod of his head he threw down the visor of his helmet, looking through the slit as they closed on their prey, the Emperor making sure to keep his lance up until they were close enough to actually kill this thing. After all, the last thing he wanted to do was have his lance buried in the earth and break his arm where it was couched so.

But soon enough she leaped and they both landed, Josef absorbing the shock from it all as best he could, though the Scatterran would soon wish he wasn't wearing a helmet, the roar that his Wing gave leaving his ears ringing for some time thereafter, the sound rolling about in his sallet.

"Does it please you, darling?" He asked from atop her, wondering if he'd get a response or if she'd slip right into the chase.

She nodded her head in response and turned to nudge his leg fondly, quickly before facing her prey once more. It had placed the stream between them. Wing delicately paced closer, each step making her killing intent clear. Oh yes, this beast would be quite fun to hunt. Wing purred loudly, eyes narrowed on Kilja and she issued another, quieter challenge.

Face her! Face her and fight and die. And she would enjoy these creatures death and feast on its flesh this night, if she had her way. Wing growled low in her throat, as able to make the sound as she was to purr.

Oh yes, a fight between the two was inevitable. She was looking forward to it all.

Kilja compensated for every inch taken by moving back a pace or two more--but, still, it was inevitable that this mounted beast would overtake the distance she had created. Her eyes were locked on Wing, perceiving every small twitch of movement. More of the beast in Kilja took over here, being as Wing presented the primary threat--but it was not lost on her that Kampf held a weapon. It would be a dire mistake to allow herself to dismiss that.

There had to be a weakness. She was certain she could perceive at least one, but she took issue with her even considering it. There was a great amount of pride amongst her kin--and to treat this fight in the way that she must...she knew she would be wiser, but the victory would not be as sweet...

...as she weighed her chances in all of a fraction of a breath, she figured she could live with what she would have to do, as it would be possibly the only way she would be able to live at all. Besides--none of her kin were around to see that she was hesitating to go into all-out frenzy.

She turned herself to lope aside, heading away from Wing, and going in the direction of the side where Kampf tilted his lance. For all the world, she looked like an idiot beast, turning to flee, but wanting to keep a sharp eye on her hunters...and putting herself at their advantage.

Kampf watched with careful eyes, lance soon lowered, ready for his darling to charge, were it that she wished for such a thing just yet. But he knew that it was not a quick kill that Wing desired, at least not right now. Perhaps a few furious minutes of chasing and she would have her prize, but not yet. That wasn't her way.

His left hand remained, gripping his Wing as a mount, wanting to wait until he drew his pistol. Even if it had a lanyard, the last thing he wanted was to be off-balance on this darling steed of his.

Oh, what a challenge this one would prove.

Wing charged, not wanting to lose the beast and mildly disappointed it hadn't fought. Still, a good chase would be all too much fun for all involved. Well. For the survivors it would be. With a roar, she issued her challenge once more, powerful legs propelling her ever closer to the beast they hunted.

Wing wanted to taste blood, and soon, and how. And if she would not, than her love could, and would. Always sensitive to him, she felt him grip her so, knowing that given how she moved that was, for him, the best way. Wing would have a fight out of this beast one way or another.

She planned on it. Planned the entire hunt on it.

The Crown-Princess had certainly been aware of what occupied Josef's mind of late, having thought of it as quite the blessing in her own mind. She hadn't really thought it possible, actually, that her consort might have been rendered sterile, whether because of his own nature or the simple fact that he was her consort. Still, the past few months had been amazing, with him here, and with the blessing in her own belly.

Of course, the Emperor saw things rather differently.

Josef had decided, one day, to take a trip with Wing to visit their daughter, and speak to her on such matters, having noted that she appeared in public less and less, and that rumors had begun to fly as to her condition. Perhaps they were just that - rumors, but Josef had yet to see for himself. Such was why he waited in one of his old rooms for his daughter to arrive, not terribly pleased with the matter on the whole but knowing that there was no alternative.

Viktoria had inherited his spirit.

Wing accompanied him in concern, has suspected rather strongly that the rumors were, in fact truth. This was not exactly what she could call an ideal confrontation of course. No doubt Viktoria was terribly pleased, but with her beginning to show, well, something had to be done. The child, if the consort was announced shortly, would have to be raised elsewhere, and Wing simply couldn't begin to think of an appropriate place.

Nor could she find a solution that would satisfy all involved. Augustus, sweet boy that he was, simply wasn't ready for the social expectations that being Viktoria public consort would entail. This would be terribly tricky. "We must be gentle, darling. She...she is your daughter, but she's also a woman deeply in love."

Josef nodded where he sat, the two sharing a classical Scatterran loveseat in one of the many sitting rooms of the palace, the Belkan moving a hand into her lap. She was still his daughter, in his mind, still that little girl, and he knew that he had to overcome that thought. He would be a grandfather soon, something he could join Wing in celebrating. "How would you wish for it to be handled, Wing?" He asked, looking to the table, the flower arrangement, before them. "If you were the one with child?"

Though Erutin society was so very different from his own. It was hard to imagine how such things were.

Viktoria waited outside of the chamber, just so, in one of the many passages in the building, quietly listening in one the two's conversation. The imperial daughter wanted to know what she was walking in on before she arrived.
