Description
(UDW)
The UDW is a nation based in the inner sectors of the Andromeda Galaxy, occupying three neighboring systems, and colonizing a total of five planets and four moons, with additional civilized centers scattered through the systems and neighboring regions. Their home possesses a unique feature of the stars in the local systems are "black", giving off a strange, almost ultraviolet light, and generating a unique form of radiation that permeates the systems. They were a long range colony from old Earth, and over the course of roughly 1000 years have become a powerful independent nation.
UDW is governed by a complex government. Ultimately, the power is in the military's hands, forming the Council of Thirteen, composed of its military's top Admirals, Generals, Agents, Scientists, and the like. It's economy is based in socialism. Health care, utilities such as power and water, and education are free to the general populace, and the degree to which the UDW uses its economy, with the governance of the military, transforms basic education into both a standard, high level education and basic military training simultaneously. Every citizen is also a member of the UDW standing militia, trained to the degree most nations train their professional soldiers, and are equipped as such, with regular, bi-annual training in groups. Additionally, there are several mega-corps within the UDW, each with their own specialties of produced goods and services, from which who's capitalistic ventures with foreign nation provides the bulk of the UDW's capital. The nation is one of the rare states were the value of its exports exceeds that of its imports.
With an overall population of 1.4 trillion citizens, the UDW is a fair sized politic, though typically, around 80 billion is present in the home systems at most times. The rest are involved in external military actions, as until recently, the use of Dark Rain was cleared to engage in mercenary work. However, for the time being this has been put on hold.

Laws of the Realm
The UDW's laws allow for weapons to remain in the custody of visitors, unlike many states. However, given that the entire nation is kept at a station of readiness for militia action, it is not advised to use the weapons guests are allowed to keep against citizens.
Additionally, there are border checkpoint at which visitors can register their presence, and be issued passes. Vessels are subject to boarding inspections by professional inspection teams to ensure that no contraband or illegal cargoes are present. Examples of these restricted items include any form of mind-affecting drugs, slaves, or certain illegal weapons techs, of which gravitronic and anti-matter comprise the entirety of this subsection.
Finally, the use of psionics is a widely accepted action within the borders of the UDW, but use of psionic ability to inflict harm or detrimental effects on its citizens is strictly prohibited. Visitors are warned at the border that use of psionics will not go unnoticed due to the high amount of psionic population, and use in prohibited fashion will be noticed and acted upon promptly.
On Citizens
The UDW, as noted earlier, possesses a high amount of psionic and mutant genes among the populace as a result of prolonged exposure to the local black suns. These manifest typically in three methods, with a rare fourth subtype.
Most common are general mutatations, a combination of the UDW's environs and the use of gene refinement technologies to produce beneficial mutants of the human genome, such as enhanced healing factors, high muscular and skeletal density, or enhanced cerebral systems, among others.
The next group are psionics, humans who develop portions of their cerebral system to a degree that allows them to wield psychokinetic abilities such as telepathy, telekinesis, and more advanced forms of the psionic tree. Classed in ranking from Zero (Top Tier), Alpha, Beta, Ceti, Delta, or Epsilon (Lowest Tier).
Rarest are extreme body mutatations, which rarely occur without external influence on a pregnant mother. These develop a radically different cellular structure that reflects exterior conditions during pregnancy, producing the material-body mutants, such as water-body, smoke-body, and metal-body, to name a few.
Additionally, there are on very rare occasion abberations, those who suffer a crippling mutatation that is still viable. Typically these remain out of sight.
Finally, the use of cybernetic enhancement is a widely accepted practice of its citizens. Almost all citizens, with the exception of its psionic class, are fitted with a neural implant which is coded to their mind alone. This implant acts as a personal computer system, who's use is paired with set of projection nodes at the exterior corners of the eyes. This gives the majority of the UDW's citizens the appear of silver teardrops in the outer corners of their eyes. All citizens also possess subcutaneous receivers under the skin behind one or both ears, replacing the need to carry a cellphone, earbud, hearing aid, and external speakers. Furthermore, over the life of a citizen, they may choose to purchase additional cybernetic enhancements of varying degrees, as simply as health increasing organ assistance modules to the more extreme combat booster, a full skeletal and muscular cybernetic that vastly improves their physical bodies strength, agility, and endurance.
Military Structure
The UDW's military is divided into several distinct groups, each with subdivisions.
-Army
-Iron Hounds (General Army)
-Steel Wolves (Special Operations)
-Mercury Foxes (Logistics/Battlefield Intelligence)
-Bronze Bears (Armor)
-The Agency
-Intelligence Agents
-Combat Agents
-Midnight Thirteen (Black Operations, Tiered I-XIII)
-Navy
-Interstellar Combat
-Planetary Operations
The Army of the UDW is a powerful force to be reckoned with, despite its typically smaller numbers. Equipped with power armors and carrying highly advanced weaponry, it is divided into several groups
-Iron Hounds: General army soldier, operating in squads of eight. Equipped with general power armors. Squads carry a variety of equipment/weapons to cover most engagement scenarios.
-Steel Wolves: Special Operations, squads of four. Advanced power armors, highly advanced weapons systems, stealth systems, and shielding units for high risk, precision operations.
-Mercury Foxes: Logistics support, they fill the role of scout, armorer, supplier, pilot, and driver. Light power armor.
-Bronze Bears: Armored support, and the crews that man them.
The Agency is the UDW's primary diplomatic and specialist division, comprised solely of psionic Agents. They are always paired, a combat and intelligence agent, though they may operate independently. Always employing at least Delta-class psionics, they specialize in deep cover operations, coordinating with governments, and providing powerful, psionic support in combat. In combat scenarios, uses the Agency powered armor, a shield intensive lighter armor.
Mightnight Thirteen, the Black Operations division of UDW, is composed of varying individuals with a penchant for the deepest cover and most dirty assignments of the UDW's military. Commonly used in assassination, subterfuge and sabotage, or quiet asset retrieval, they are the most deadly operatives of the nation, who's heads of each of the thirteen tiers are operatives who's records are simply awing.
The Navy is the UDW's most versatile force, ferrying its armed forces and units around the universe, combating its enemies in space and on the planets they find themselves on. From the titanic Dreadnaught Kronos to the agile and deadly Dragoon Fighter, it is a flexible entity that is known for breaking the traditional boundaries of a navy.
Technology Levels
The UDW is a powerful entity in the field of technology, possessing highly advanced techs of a wide variety.
-High Level Cybernetics
-High Level Gene Therapy
-High Level Nanotechnology
-Advanced Medical Science
-Advanced Production and Forging Capacities
-Highly Advanced AI Development
-Advanced Electronics

Economics
The economical situation within the UDW is one of socialism. Wealth is spread with primarily equal value among its citizens, though with the relative cost of internal goods, combined with adequate income per household, the cost of living is quite low. Internal economics are something of a conundrum when viewed from outside the system, it would almost seem as though capital simply cycles in a never stilling flow, from the individual citizen, to the corporations, to the government, and back again. Which in the end, has no impact on the driving force of the UDW, which is excellence through technologic advancement.
On a national level, however, the UDW's long standing trade agreements with a plethora of minor nations amidst the cosmos has generated much lucrative business. With the majority of expensive trade items, namely raw materials for produced goods, internally obtained and utilized, imported goods are vastly exceeded by the high quality, reasonably priced exports the nation generates.
