"I want to know more about this Patronus, Why did Rhea want to come here?" She said, while she walked with Whisper towards the facility. "I've assessed two hundred demerits to your file, when you finish rehab, you are going to be disciplined formally by the Military Tribunal
Nagala then looked up. "But you need to get clean. We're also going to fit you with prosthetic eyes. You'll need all your senses if you're tackling the McGregors."
Whisper stopped before the facility a moment. It wasn't too late to simply disappear. Whatever would transpire in that facility would likely be nothing short of hell. She had only experienced the edges of pattern withdrawal, but it was enough to make her wary.
After a moment she followed Nagala up the steps to the entrance
"How long will this take?" she asked.
"The Doctor will be here shortly."
"She's a shapeshifter," Whisper added abruptly. "Rhea. She's a shapeshifter. If you're worried about trouble, keep that in mind."
She rubbed at her arm lightly.
"Ah! How Marvelous. Getting Whisper some new eyes and off of Pattern."
Plishkin then turned to a tray with a flickering holographic screen. "These Prosthetic eyes are the same types that the Aiyanna unit used, so they will provide you with normal vision, but also enhance your vision in accordance with your psionic abilities, how marvelous!"
The rubbing turned to a light scratching before Whisper realized she was digging at the skin of her arm and stopped.
"Relax." He said as the tank closed, and suddenly, Whisper would percieve Plishkin and Nagala start to slow down, and time began to warp around her as the tank filled with liquid, and the painful process of cleansing began.
Once the Cleansing was finished, Whisper was induced into a coma, and taken out of the time dilation field, where Plishkin performed the surgery.
When it came time to wake up, the Blindfold would be removed, and a pair of prosthetic eyes granted Whisper sight once again. Sight in sync with her psionics, thanks to super-filament optical nerves.
She reached a hand up to rub at her brow, a reflexive gesture before she took note that the sores and track marks had both faded from her arm leaving not a scar to remain. A quick check revealed the other arm to be unmarred as well.
She sat up as she began to regain her senses.
Hopefully Pythia didn't take a knife to these eyes like she did the last ones.
For now though, she felt good. Better than she had in months. A thought crossed her mind though.
"What are the relapse rates for pattern addicts," she asked.
Did the information matter? Not really, but she wanted to know.
She took a moment to study the woman, having never seen the Admiral with eyes before. She didn't much care for it. Ones eyes are easily deceived, but she put such thoughts from her mind for now.
"I don't expect you to trust me," she offered. "Just remember the Aschen had a gun to my head for far longer than I to you. I could have killed you back in Tauron, or walked away from all of this. I didn't do either."
