Setting
La'ita Hara is populated primarily by humans - though many avorians make their home here as well.
The design and architectural influences in this region of the city are somewhat distinct from the crystalline structures that loom above, and there is a more distinctive human touch to the place.
Many things one might not find in the avorian districts can be found in La'ita Hara, including but not limited to a large space-port, hotels, bars, and a wide array of human attractions. Also adding to its attractions is a classy, yet refined entrance to a popular bar where a brightly illumunated sign reading 'Gambit's Bar' hangs over the door frame. Due to its extraplanar nature, the interior of the bar is much larger than the exterior would have suggested. This was just one of many entrances all across the Multiverse that provided passage to the notorious establishment.
La'ita Hara maintains the same bans and restrictions on carrying weapons within the Capital as the upper regions of Volary. More information can be found under the laws section of the group page
A quick scan revealed... nothing. "Hm." the ball murmured. No detectable alpha radiation meant the corpse was covered, likely due to the damage from the high levels of alpha radiation that it supposedly emitted. Local authorities may have recovered and confiscated the body for investigation, in which case it may be in a morgue or a special containment, or some other local agent may have taken possession of it.
Monitor-102 was not deterred however. It tapped into the local broadcasting networks and in fact discovered a news report of a radioactive body. No harm was done, but local agent were scrubbing the area regardless. "Ah ha!" The orb exclaimed, and fell back down to John. The whole event had taken a few minutes, and the orb hurried down even faster, as if it was late for an appointment.
"Hello again John! I've discovered that the local authorities most likely have possession of the body, and I am unable to track it." The orb said solemnly.
After a little wondering around, the orb had returned, rushing as fast as it can. "Hello again John! I've discovered that the local authorities most likely have possession of the body, and I am unable to track it." It reported,
"The authorities?" John asked, seemingly annoyed and angry, "If those fuckers have it, then it'll be a very low chance of finding the body." He thought for a little as he continued his wondering, "We may have to kill some high class/ranking person in order to find this body. I need to replace this body anyway," he signified to his own body, making it obvious that he can change bodies.
The scope and possibilities of such an ability in an organic made the orb bristle with excitement, and considered abandoning the search for the body to study John. But an echo in the lattice energy matrix that made up Contingent's broken mind reminded him to focus on the energy of the corpse they were looking for. Energy is the richest form of knowledge, completely purity. Access to and knowledge about any energy takes priority. The orb peeked out of the alleyway, surveying the city streets.
"If our odds are slim then we must make haste, before they diminish to near zero!" The orb floated back to John and projected a detailed 3D model of the city in front of itself. "I took the liberty of compiling a map of the city, I'm somewhat of cartographer hobbyist." said the orb sheepishly. "I'll let you lead the way John, your charisma may gain us more access than mine." The metal ball floated to a spot just above John's shoulder, keeping the map in John's sight.
"I would lead the way, but I haven't been in this area for long. I don't know where any intelligence departments are, nor do I know where to find the people who have access to it." John continued his walking, his dead hand rubbing against the gasmask, about where the chin would be; "You think you can locate any of that stuff? Or even hack into or find any information on the body?"
At John's suggestion the blue orb responded, "Of course John, I should have immediate access to the city's information if I find a terminal with access to the city'es network." The local broadcasts didn't have anything relevant relating to a strange corpse in recent news, Contingent had of course already checked such a possibility while flying high above the city. However a quick check of recent news in the city archives should surface something useful, if the body had been recovered by the authorities.
The glowing metal orb floated around the corner and found the nearest access to the city's wiring, an electrical panel. It used an unseen force to remove the panel, then emitted a quick blue light across the wiring. A brief review of recent events in fact turns up an article over the recovery and subsequent disposal of the body of a supposed terrorist. The autopsy claimed that the body possessed some unusual qualities and many of the findings pointed to heavy alpha radiation during the beginning stages of decomposition. The body was shortly burnt and its ashes scattered at sea, baring the usual river ceremony given to regular citizens.
"Oh..." The orb exclaimed, processing two and half cycles in contemplation of the lost data and opportunities that were washed away in the tide. In an almost solemn state the metal ball returned to John to inform him of the unfortunate news.
"I do apologize John, but it would seem that local authorities cremated the body and threw the ashes to sea in a local ritual of death ways. It would seem our chance of such a specimen's recovering are near a zero percent chance." The orb shook its "head" sadly, and spoke to the wall next to it, "I know, you said to temper my excitement, don't you lecture me on experimental emotion routines." It sighed, "Yes John here will need to find another source of energy." And at that the orb returned its attention to John.
After watching the orb use it's strange 'powers' to get into the city's database and find the information, it finally spoke, but didn't seem to be too impressed. With the information it told, John's face fell. His undead eyes falling into a glare, a large sigh being emitted under his gas mask. He had gotten extremely annoyed, all of this effort for nothing. If only he spent his time researching more of his necromancy instead of running around like an idiot. Ashes... Fucking ashes... He can't get the body now, but could still get the soul... Sadly, that requires a magic which is opposite of John's profession, or a divine being.
"What a waste of my fucking time..." John hissed, clearly very pissed off, "I guess we should focus on getting me a new body, this current one won't last much more. Then we shall do some research."
Kiri had reached a Café ordering a Black Coffee to start her day reading her book, which was dystopian literature she enjoyed every last bit she always craved for Adventure and something new yet she never found it, she had paid for her coffee leaving a tip and walking outside down the block passing a few people, she held her book under her right shoulder blade ignoring everything around her and just focusing on the path ahead of her.
