Hyperspace Transit
"Yukinojyo, what is our ETA?" Detective Haruhara asked, while she quietly sipped her hot green tea, pushing some locks of hair aside from her unusually pointed ears. "We've been in Hyperspace for weeks now." She added, setting the hot tea down, and smoothing the creases of her light blue uniform, which was accented with oranges, and dark blues, the traditional uniform for the Galaxy Police. Haruhara found it odd that she was being dispatched to the Milky Way, and she was not told very much by the Marshal himself.
"Grand Marshal Kuramitsu has insisted that we exercise the utmost discretion in executing this warrant, this is his last known location, but we cannot venture further without risking attack-- Detective, we are arriving at the designated coordinates."
The woman reached gingerly for the lever, and grasped it firmly before she pulled it back, locking it into it's next position, and engaging a series of stellar braking apparatuses to bring the cruiser out of Hyperspace.
With a cloud of spatial energies venting from a sudden tear, the cruiser lurched forward into real space with somewhat of a violent lurch, nearly throwing the Detective from her chair were she not strapped in. Once the cruiser settled into it's trajectory, The woman deftly let her hand move across a touchscreen display showing the image of a young Taiyou male, a priority warrant attatched to a two hundred and fifty woolong bounty.
"If we don't get him, the cowboys will, and I don't trust the Cowboys not to make an international incident out of the Exogarden and Aschen Empire." She remarked off handedly, while turning to her AI.
"Yukinojyo, calculate the course for our next Hyperspace jump, Langaran System final destination." She instructed, before keying up a series of holographic interfaces, an entire array of forged ship registrations should let her through Aschen space.
Tumbling through the void, the blue and white star cruiser moved swiftly through the void, before stabilizing it's trajectory to allow it's hyperdrives to recharge.
The BLL Bison was a Leaguer Coutelas class frigate of the Locale Legione, the maritime forces of the Blue League that defended the interests of the Shore Planets. Activity seemed to be bustling from the nearby planet of Patrima and the monolithic stargate that hung suspended over one of the system's distant gas giants.
The Salian frigate was orbiting a customs station, where traffic controllers used quantum telescopes to peer into the great aether even beyond the system. As signals transmitted and cast out from traffic control.
From the gate beyond, ships of the Exogarden could be seen disembarking the shimmering tunnel of the gateway from a distant star themselves, a cluster of escort vessels and a battleship, apparently the Tsushima, judging by the Gardenite script plasted along her enormous hull.
She grimaced for a moment, the warrant was urgent and she was wondering why they hadn't given her priority clearance. A moment passed and then it dawned on her. They weren't in Andromeda anymore. So the woman nodded, and grabbed the communicator, dialing in the frequency, and sending in a wide broadcast hail.
"This is GXP-344 Balena, requesting priority clearance, and resources to apprehend a fugitive. I am transmitting all information now, please ensure that it reaches the highest echelons of your command structure."
With a swift keystroke, Haruhara transmitted the warrant for one Shimizu Takayama, and the list of charges, in addition to the bounty information, and the order from the Taiyou Emperor himself. For a moment, Haruhara slid deeper into her seat, and watched everything unfold before her.
"Hopefully someone, somewhere gets this." She said to herself, running slender fingers over vibrantly colored hair. "Before he wises up and flees, or worse.."
āA what now? Hey, you fuckinā idiot thatās not a civil transit tag thatās a - holy fuck, ring the arbitrator ā¦ ā
āWhat? No oneās used that line for a century -ā
āGet the fucking Exogarden on the line, now!ā
As ships shuttled to and fro, the system continued to bustle along. A distant, streaming train of civilization from one empty space to the next with the Andromedan cruiser in the middle of it. Was it hours, or mere minutes before a voice seemed to respond from the distant radiowaves?
On sensors, there seemed to be an object approaching. The slipstream booster was a mere hundred meter long ārodā, and seemed rather unimpressive when compared with the monolithic gate that hung above the gas giant.
Keying up the communications systems onboard her ship, she transmitted her reply.
āAcknowledged, VIRGIL. I am aware of the capricious nature of the civilization beyond this border, and I know the enforcement framework is sparse. Given the nature of the fugitive I am supposed to apprehend, perhaps it is best that I take advantage of whatever assistance youāre willing to provide.ā
Myuria swiftly keyed her response down the line, and then moved deftly to manipulate a series of controls as the ship kicked on itās engines for a final approach towards the gate. She was already plotting hyperspace trajectories to Langara.
āThe suspect Iām to apprehend is considered armed, and extremely dangerous, and weāre to exercise extreme care.ā She added via the transmission.
While VIRGIL organized an adhoc operation in less than a minute, the FTL booster transiting to the Balena was making its own preparations, albeit autonomously. The GXP ship was soon also joined by another as it taxied to the astral gate, the Leagueship Bison. The heavily armed frigate was a blocky distinction from the sleek Balena.
