Korra Windrunner

What are we if not slaves to this torment?

0 · 525 views · located in Med Evil Forest

a character in “The Shadow Forest”, as played by Diane_Young

Description

Name: Korra Windrunner Image
Age: Just reaching full womanhood, Korra has lived through 198 summers.
Race: Blood Elf
Background: Korra was born under her father, the leader of the Forsaken. Her mother died during childbirth, leaving her father to raise the child on his own. The forsaken was an allied group that found themselves dwelling in parts of the shadow forest where darkness falls heaviest. During her youth, her father was murdered violently by another dark king before her eyes, the opposing king sought out that there was only one darkness that fell on the forest, and of course that darkness being his own. Following her father's death, Korra was forced to grow up and was announced to be the Dark Lady, Queen of the Forsaken, which was shortened to the Banshee Queen. Upon her reign and leadership, war was brought up against the opposing dark rivals, the Scourge. Korra saw to it that she murdered the leader herself, winning the war and taking over the Scourge.
Personality: Korra can be extremely stubborn, and tends to ignore the fact that she has a society to lead. Is very passionate about what she does, whether good or bad. Tends to sneak off from the Forsaken's homelands to explore further into the world, not taking the repercussions that come from leaving her society by itself for extended time periods. She will however lay down the lay when need be. Korra has always been one to consider others when she is not as her Banshee self. When she shoves the darkest parts of her asia, her personality can be rather charming, in fact.
Other: Although Korra is the Banshee Queen, and lives forever in the darkness of the Shadow Forest she craves the experience of living on the other half of things. Taking over a place that seemed to belong in a balance of both was never something the queen aspired to do. Her people, pushing her to greatness on the other hand want nothing more than to see the other half of the Shadow Forest crumble. Korra is caught between two sides knowing that something must be done for her people, whether it meant bowing out or leading them to the biggest war in the realm.

Sin was walking the the cliff side as he patrolled his home territory, The forest it self was immense and he had never felt the need to wander far from where his mother had made there home (Tho the forest would call him further and further each time it call out). His mother's grave was there near the old hut and when Sin felt utterly alone he would go there, He was only really a child when his mother passed on and after that forest took her place. But even with all the life the forest had he still could feel as if his life was nothing. At the age of 90 still just a child the forest answered his cry’s and sent to him a song bird. The bird sang him to sleep that night and never left his side after that and even tho he calls the bird his friend his need to visit his home and his mother weighed gravely on him.

Now at the cliff's he was almost home, Behind him the bog where he had last felt the forest call for aid. He would always answer it's call but now he was done, The bog was cleansed of all taint, It had taken him meany weeks to expel the tainted plant's from the bog but he did it with out question, Only to help the forest that provide for him. Now walking on to the path that lead to the forest past the cliffs did Sin think back to the first calling.

~Flash Back~

It was odd the pull at his soul but he knew that he had to fallow and then when he found him self in front of a tree older then time it's self he knew that this was the heart of forest he had called home. There at it's root's was a vile black vine crawling up from the ground. Sin could swear the the tree it's self crying out in pain as it's root's rotted in to a purple slim at it's base where ever the vine's would touch. He knew then why he had been called there and set to work, When he first touched the black vine's his hands felt as if he had plunged them in to a bit of fire. Pulling away he had no idea as what he should do but he knew that he must pull out this vile plant. Reaching for the plant once more he flinched in the thought of his hands burning but the pain never came and when he opened his eye's he saw that his hands had started to give off a silver like glow and as he touched the plant it crumbled to dust. It had took him only a few hours to rid the tree of the black vines but as soon as he was done he once more felt the forest call out to him and so started his job as seek of the dark taint and protector of the forest.

~End of Flash Back~

Sin walked the forest trail head high as he lessened to the forest in it's clam, It made him clam and heart swell with joy knowing that peace had been found in his little corner of heaven and felt honored that it was him that had brought it back. Reaching in to his vest he pulled out a round fruit he had been saving, The bog had not been good to him and had little game to hunt for food, So root's and fruit had to keep his hunger at bay. Sin could not wait to get back home and go on a good hunt, The deer of the forest has just started there rutting session and the deer sounded vary good to Sin at this time. 'First home to resupply, Then a hunt to fill my stocks in the cellar under the hut.' Sin thought, He was pulled from his thoughts as a loud angry chirp made him look down the dirt path. “Oh not tell me your still mad Blu?” Sin asked the blue song bird as it flew strait for him, Holding out his hand the bird landed and continued to chirp at him in a man tone. “Now look you would have molted all your feathers off in the bog and you know I like it when your here to keep a eye on things and look.” Sin said as he took his other hand and held out a gem stone. “See what I bring you for your nest.” The bird he had named Blu fluffed out his feathers and lunged for the stone, Taking it in his small beak he then flew off singing out in joy. “It's good to be home.” Sin said out load as a small hut came in to view.

It had been another long trip that Korra had spent off adventuring. She had found herself in a new territory that she had not yet discovered. At times, the vastness of the forest seemed to never end, as if she would run forever and never escape. The thought not only excited her, but it also made her feel like she was minuscule to the entirety of the forest. Having been away from her home territory where the Forsaken reside for almost three weeks time now, Korra had almost forgotten what it was like to see dark, tainted evil, covering everything even the sky. This newfound territory seemed to open her eyes to a whole different world, as if this wasn't even the same planet she was walking on. Trees stood tall and lively, full of warm colored leaves, and the sounds of the creaking woods in the wind sounded more like a song rather than a hiss like home. Finding herself on a trail, she made her way along pausing at the sound of a bird chirping.

She hadn't heard anything like it since she was extremely young and her father was telling her tales of other lands like these. Those tales which ignited her fire to find them herself, of course. Confusion filled her expression as the sound of the bird wasn't just a regular chirp but more angered than usual. Just followed by the angry chirp she heard a voice, causing her to shrink back behind a tree. One of her hands reached for her bow, fingering an arrow she hand managed to pull from the quiver as she had stepped behind the tree. She hadn't run into another being other than her own people before, and never knew what to expect. Thinking back to a night her father was telling her tales of how he came across another kind, how the people he so desperately wanted to come to level ground with and understand were the most interesting creatures he had seen.

She could vividly recall how he described them, the way they looked and how they had such warm colored skin, with… what was it, blood, pulsing through their veins. For the life of her she could not remember what they were called, or if they were even real. But what she thought about most from that one tale, was how they refused to live with him in existence, as if he was a disease that was plaguing the lands of the forest, causing it to lose it's balance. But he had argued, and told the other kind that balance meant half and half of each, and they didn't understand. She remembered how he told her that the other kind had to die because of this argument, that they did not understand and they refused to try.

She shivered at the thought, hoping that his experiences with other kinds was something of the past, and that things have changed with the times. Shaking her head to clear her mind, she listened carefully for any other sounds, and took the moment to replace her arrow back into the quiver. She recognized that having a weapon at the ready was probably more hostile than empty hands. She heard the voice again, but this time further off. Immediately she started after it, curious as to what she would find, if it was possible for her.

Sin was so happy to be home as he entered the small forest clearing, In the middle of the this meadow was one large wiping willow tree and under it's branches sat a small hut. It was so welcoming Sin had to stop to take it in but just as he started for the hut once more something pull at his mind. It's was not the same taint that was brought by the dark plants but one that seemed self contained. Sin let out a soft chirp of his own, After that he made his way to the hut as if nothing was wrong, Placing his bow on the out side wall of the hut he open the door and stopped before he entered. “I have little to offer other then tea and dried fish for I have just returned home and have yet to had the chance to go for a hunt. But I will freely offer what I have to you if you mean no ill will to me and this forest.” Sin said in soft and clamming voice. His voice had a clamming way about this he knew but also with what he had said held power, A spell crudely cast that it maybe was still a spell to keep out those that would seek to cause harm. Before he entered the hut he turned looked out to the forest, His head tilled to one side and a lopsided grin on his face. “All I ask is that you indulge me as I have meany things I find I wish to ask you, You do not have to answer anything you feel you should not. Of course I will freely answer anything you wish to ask that I can as long as I to find no harm in telling you these things.” Sin said his silver locks framing his face and his bight blue eyes sparked with life and then turned and walked in to hut leaving the door jarred open.

Inside the hut Sin heart was racing but he took hold of his mind and clammed his thoughts. First was that he now knew he was not truly alone in this vast forest. Taking that he moving on to the next thing that was even more important, Whatever this being is it was tainted, But the taint did not spread in to the forest and destroy the life around it like the black vines did. He had to know why, How it was possible and if this could help him in his duty that was given to him by the forest its self. Now with that in mind he had one last thing in mind. 'I'm about to have a guest and the hut is filthy!' He thought as he looked around. The hut it's self was in order but everything was covered in dust. In the far corner was a pile of furs, His bed. There was a small wooden table and just two stools to one side and a small shelf with two cups,Two bowls and two plates (He was grateful he never got rid of his mother's set.) and other home odds and ends, A small fire pit was in the center of the hut with a small pile of cut wood. Sin first started a fire to help worm the cold hut and for the tea he would make, Then he moved to the furs and pulled then over to revile a large door in the floor. Once Sin opened the door to his small cellar he hopped down and after a few moments brought back up with him a few gores and a small sack , Placing them on the floor he then put the furs back. The first gored he popped a cork and poured water in to a pot before he then placed the pot over the now growing fire so it could heat. The next gored he pulled from it mint leafs and place them to into the pot.

Sin then turn to dust off the table and stools, His movements rushed as he did so not sure of how long he had to set up. His memory true and clear as he recalled all the things his mother had showed him in life and calling on that information her took out the two plates and cups and one bowl. Pulling on the string holding a small pack to his back he then opened it to placing the few cuts of dried fish he had left on the plates. He then grabbed the sack he had brought up from the cellar, He was glad that he had found it not sure if any was left. Sin took the sack to the table and poured a mix of dried barriers in to the bowl and when he was done he thought even if it was not much it would have to do. On that note he thought it would be nice to have some one visit at some other point and be better equipped to great them. Sin then stood next to the table to wait for his guest, As he stood there he hoped his guest would find him a good host, For he had never had some one other then his mother (Not counting then the beast of the forest) to talk to, He hope he was not lacking in manners.

Korra watched as the strange one placed his bow outside of the hut. He looked to be of some other species that she had not seen before. His skin was warm and light colored, which was what her father had mentioned in his tales when she was younger. But this one looked different. The ears were still long and pointy, and his hair was not a color of the Earth. When he spoke out to her, she all but jumped out of her skin, her eyes zoning in on him alone. Her first instinct was to pull another arrow and ready her bow as her adrenaline shot to the cosmos. She could hear the sound of her blood pulsing through her ears, the sound of the forest growing faint compared to the thumping of hear heartbeat. She listened intently on what he said, watching his every movement as she did. When he finally stepped inside Korra moved her hand from the arrow she had been ready to grab and stepped out from behind the tree she was using as guard.

She was careful and walked slowly towards the hut, her eyes locked on the door anticipating anything unexpected. She knew that even though he placed his bow outside, there could easily still be something inside of the hut that he could use. But as she grew close, she started to relax. When her thick boot reached the threshold of the door, Korra froze, her nerves on fire in paralyzing fear and curiosity. Slowly she started to rest her bow next to his, knowing that walking into the hut with her weapons would most likely show that she was hostile. Korra paused just before she started to un-clip the two straps that held her quiver on. She listened for any sound she could, but didn't hear much except for some rustles about in the small home.

She knew she was risking everything at this very moment, and that if she was to die, her people would wage the biggest war the forest would probably ever see. She swallowed hard and set down her quiver next to the two bows, noticing their differences almost immediately. His looked more gentle and graceful like this side of the forest did, whereas her bow was made of the bones from former blood elves who fought in the previous war. Tiny skulls rested on the top and bottom of it, the skulls from the monkeys that lived with the forsaken. The monkeys had eyes that smoked out green from them, and their bodies lacked muscle tissue and fur. It was an animal composed of literally just bone, but lived and died as she did.

Taking in a huge huff of air, she stepped into the hut and looked around. She took in her new surroundings, recognizing some things that she too had, but other things she hadn't the slightest idea as to what they were. But then her eyes locked on him, and her breath caught immediately. His facial structure was soft and warm unlike any she had seen. He was tall and nimble, and his hair up close was a completely different sight. She blinked a few times, trying to regain her composure as she forced out a nervous smile. "Hello..." She croaked out in a low whisper, as if she hadn't spoken in years.

Sin was not prepared when a woman walked in to his hut, Shocked was more then the right word for it. She was tail and her build was one beauty but it also screamed warrior. Her skin was so pale that if it was not for the race of her heart he would have thought her dead. Her eye's glowed like the sun but held not it's warmth. He looked closely at her armor and felt a bit of jealousy at it's detail compared his simple long white tunic and the green bit's of armor that cover only a few areas of his body. Shacking his head to bring him self back to the here and now he gave her a warm smile. “Hello and welcome to my home.” Sin said as he gave her a deep bow. He was not afraid she would try to harm him at this time other wise the spell he had placed at the door would never had let her pass.

“Please come and sit, I have little to offer you but what I have I freely share.” Sin said his voice clam and soothing like silk as he took a seat on he far stool. “I am not sure what it is you are so I am also not sure if I have anything you would like, But as I said I have dried fish meat and tea. I was also lucky and found a sack of nut's and mixed barriers if you like. The tea is not yet done so I am sorry.” Sin said as he looked up to her with a boy like curiosity. The fire still heating the pot danced and cast there shadow and the smell of mint started to fill the room. “Oh dear I almost forgot.” He said with a loud happy laughter. “My name is Sin, Sin Ravenwood.” He told her as he chuckled nervelessly.

Korra watched as he bowed, and nodded her head down in return. She didn't fully understand the gesture, but had a pretty good idea of what it meant. She looked around once more, taking in the home as he welcomed her. She was still in complete awe that this part of forest even existed. All she knew was darkness, and that was nothing like this. She made her way over to the chair, and took a seat carefully as if she didn't trust the chair. At home, such furniture had an attitude of its own. Although their furniture was natural creations from the forest, there were days where the roots of trees that formed the 'chairs' weren't okay with the elves using them to rest on. They would rearrange themselves in defense, and leave the elves to find comfort on the hard forest floor.

Fortunately, for Korra it wasn't as hard for her, since she accepted the forest and they could feel her curiosity in the balance. The other forsaken saw this as the forest's respect of her as the Banshee Queen, but Korra knew otherwise. In response to his offerings of food and his question of what she was she looked around at the food, not recognizing any of it. She reached out to the bowl of berries, scooping a few into the palm of her hand. She swallowed as she inspected the food, but before she could even try to taste it, the berries rotted in her hand. Frowning deeply, her eyes flicked up to her host.

"Sin." She repeated his words, before nodding at her correct pronunciation. "Korra Windrunner." She responded as she clenched the rotted berries into a fist with a small sigh. "I have not been able to eat anything from your area, except for what your land offers to me." She started, as the berries turned to dust upon her tight fist. The dust trickled from her fist and onto her lap, and she looked outside at the growing plants. Along her travels, only when she felt most hungry or thirsty did the plants and waters offer sustenance. Every other time she had tried, it would turn to dust, just as the berries did.

Sin watched as she gave him small nod after his bow, Not sure if it was to say she was above him or that it was that she was not sure about the meaning, But he pushed it to the back of his mind as he did meany thing at this moment. As she sat he had to give a small grin as she acted as if the stool would not let her but he said nothing and let her become conformable. As he sat there a vision of his mother flashed in his mind with thought that no one but her had sat there over years but he chased the sad memory from his thoughts. She then said his name as if to test it on her own lips and then gave hers. “Korra.” He said back as he watched her every movement with curiosity.

When she voiced that she could not eat what he had to offer and saw as dust fell from her hand he was enable to hide the pure shock on his face. Every thing in his mind screamed that this being named Korra was tainted and told him that she was a danger to the forest but his heart was so lonely that he had to take this opportunity as it may be his last. Also he told him self that if she was truly tainted then maybe she could tell him more about the black vines creeping there way in to the forest. “So I was right that you are tainted with a darkness not unlike the vines.” He said as he got up and pulled the pot off the fire, There was little point of making tea if she had not use for it. “Please forgive my bluntness but I fear that after 125 years of solitude I lack the manners my mother bestowed me.” Sin said as he sat back down.

“So please tell me what is it you are and where it is you come from, Dose all your kind carry this taint, Dose it come and go, Can you control it at will, Is you and your kind that bring the vile vines in to this forest?” He asked but he shook head, A sadness now reflected in his eye's make then dull. “Please forgive me once more it was rude of me to ask you such a thing as of the last.” He was referring to the the last thing he had asked. “You are my guest and I should not try and assume such things, Please answer what you wish and ask what every you may.” He said as he tried to forum a smile on his lips, But he found it hard with his mind running away with him.

Tainted with darkness? Vines? Confusion filled her face as she watched him pull the pot of tea from the fire. She frowned, knowing that this conversation was about to get a little more intense. No more soft comments, or simple questions. She swallowed as he mentioned that he had lost his manners. Watching him sit back down, she clenched her hands together and tensed in her seat. When he went off asking questions after question however, Korra couldn't help but to feel a little bombarded. As he stopped himself, and started again with an apology Korra looked towards the door. The math was simple, three long strides, a reach to the left for her bow, and a full blown sprint into the woods. Change directions every minute, run until she couldn't anymore. She'd leave her arrows if need be, she could always replace them and make more. It was tempting.

Despite her sudden instinct to flee, she chose to stay. "I… I don't know exactly what you would call my home, but I am from the darkness of the forest. I've never seen such a beautiful side of the forest." She started to answer his first question, avoiding any sort of eye contact. She stared down into her lap, the corners of her eyes watching him for movement. She knew that any slight bit of movement, she was ready to bolt. "It is about a week's walk from here." She added as she reflected on her journey. "But the darkness of the forest is about a four day's walk. It spreads, all the time, and the light seems to fight it off." She reflected further, remembering her stay on the border of both light and dark. It was insane for her to watch plants go from withering and dying to living and full. A back and forth tug of war until one or the other took over, until the other half was ready to attack again.

"My kind… we are the Forsaken, blood elves. We're made from the darkness… or it seems that way, at least." She started on his next question, looking up at at him to watch his expression carefully. "My people are not as… kind to the land. They want to take over the entire forest with their taint, follow the footsteps of my father, the former king of the Forsaken." She said, emphasizing his term for what he perceived them doing to the land. Ignoring his next two questions, she let out a heavy sigh and swallowed before starting on the last one, ignoring how it came off. "I don't know what causes the vines, but I do know my people can spread the darkness by touch…" She said, her nerves and thoughts on fire. She was all but crawling from her own skin.

Sin had given him self a mental slap as he felt her become uneasy with his line of questioning but as she talked he took in all the information and filed it away. 'She was like a trapped doe.' He told him self as she watched her and her movements. “I see, Then it not as I had once thought.” Sin said as he placed a hand on his chin and closed his eye's in thought. After a few moments he gave a small nod as if he had come to some since of peace about all this new information. “As you have told me much and have yet to ask anything your self I shall tell you about my self.” He said with a hope that maybe his tall would clam her and her uneasiness.

“As I said my name is Sin, My mother told me she did so name me because I was the one sin she could never ask forgiveness for. You see my mother was a simple human woman that fell madly in love with a Elven Lord that was passing threw her village one day, They had but one night of passion and then he was gone. Tho I know not if he was a Blood Elf as you are I know that is he I get the ears and color of my hair from.” He said, Then he lifted one hand up and rub one of his ears. “Mothers ears had not been as long as mine and yours are even grander.” He said with a soft smile. “Anyways mother had to leave her home once her family found out she was with child, She had some how made her way here. She told me she had found the hut already built but no one living here and so made use of it as her own.” Sin told her as his mother had done so with him.

Not sure all of what he should tell her, He judged what she could use with any information he gave her but with only this one chance to talk with another he decided to risk all he knew. “She raised me here in this part of the forest and it is here I have always stayed, So you see besides my mother you are the only being I have had the chance to talk to.” Sin stopped as if unsure if he should go on but seemed to find he would indeed tell her more. “After my mother had past of a human old age I was alone meany years and in truth I was still a young boy, The forest most have heard my call for companionship for it sent to me a blue song bird and he has be by my side ever since.” Sin told Korra and then let out a small set of chirps and the blue bird soon flew down from it tree top nest and in to the hut to sit on Sin's shoulder. “Blu this is Korra and Korra this is Blu.” He said with a joy filled voice and the bird bobbed it's head and started to sing happily.

Sins face took on that sad look and his lip thinned as look at Korra. “Once more I must say I'm sorry, I can feel you uneasy and it my fault you feel this way, It is just the forest it's self is in pain and it has been calling to me to aid it in ridding the black vines that sprout. If I do not come to it's call it's pain soon becomes mine and I have no other action then to remove the vile things. I had hope that because you seem to be able to contain the darkness in your self that you may be able give me some incite to this problem but I fear that now my duty to the forest will never end.” Sin said but then he looked around the room as if in a panic. “Mothers gave.” He whisper. “ Please for give I most see to some thing.” He said bluntly and rushed out the door and behind the hut to the base of the willow tree. There was a grave there covered in all kinds of flowers but a single black vine had rooted up and had started to killing the life around it.

Korra listened intently on his story, realizing that he was partial human. That is what her father had told her about, the species that lived such a short life! It all was clear now to her, the stories that her father explained. But never did she realize that there could be a half-human, half-elf, that is until now. When he talked of their ears and how his were so much shorter than hers, she couldn't help but to touch her own as she stared in wonder at his. When he described how he'd been so alone for so long, Korra couldn't help but to be a little jealous. Sometimes, dealing with a ton of people that are looking up to you because you are their leader was stressful. And her way of coping with it was running away for extended periods. As the songbird flew in and landed on Sin's shoulder, she stared in awe at the vibrant colors on the creature. The sound of the chirping soothed her and she smiled in content.

Never had she seen a creature so beautiful. Her creatures from her homeland, had their own beauty, but it wasn't warm and welcoming like this bird. It was typically deadly, and very raw looking, which to her was beautiful until she saw the other half of the forest. When he abruptly rose and left, Korra assumed something bad was happening, and followed after him. On her way out, she grabbed her bow and quiver, clipping the quiver on as she ran behind him. She stayed focused, curiosity and adrenaline starting to course through her veins as she followed.

When they stopped at a grave, full of warm flowers and something she recognized, she froze. How were the vines getting here? How was the darkness spreading in new places if she had only seen it grow from the one spot of her home? The Forsaken Tree. The life of the darkness, heavily protected by her people was the only thing that could spread darkness other than her people. Her eyes locked on to the vine, and she pushed past Sin, going down on one knee before it as her cape flowed out around and behind her. She touched the vine with just two fingers as she rested her other elbow on her leg that still had a foot on the ground. Feeling it's life in her own flesh and bone, she inhaled deeply smelling the familiar scent of home in the small vine. She couldn't help but to question if these vines were growing here because of her or not, and it started to make her uncomfortable once more.

She moved back, rising from the ground and looked at Sin with curiosity, shoving all other thoughts aside. "What do you do when you come across this?" She asked as she glanced back down at the plant and the flowers around it that were dying with mercy from the plant. She couldn't help but to frown, since this plant, unlike the darkness she knew wasn't letting the light flowers put up a fight at all, but rather killing them on contact. As she watched this happen, she grew frustrated that even the plants couldn't seem to find a balance, which was all that she desperately wanted.

[[I have two ideas I want to talk to you about regarding the vines.]]

Sin was shocked to see the vines had gotten this far in to the forest but was even more shocked as Korra passed him and looked as the small plaint. Already the fail smell of death filled the area as flowers rotted around the vine. When Korra touched the vine Sin was going to tell her not to but stopped as he saw that he not worry. “You can touch it with out it burning you?” Sin asked as he kneels next to her but also gave her space and was also careful not to crush the living flowers.

When Korra asked what he did with the vine when he had found them he gave her a shrug. “Well the first time I had found them I had tried to pulled them out but they burned my skin like fire but the tree was crying out in pain so I pushed pass my own pain and tried to pull it out but the vines never burned after that and in stead...” He trailed off and reached for the vine and as his hand touched it a eery silver glow seeped from his hand and the vine took on the same glow tell it started to crumble into ash. “It no longer burns me.” He told Korra.

Korra watched as he turned the dark vine into ash, she blinked a few times before she noticed that it slightly pained her to see something she's known so long turn to ash. But her curiosity took over the feelings, and she moved back over to where Sin knelt, to see the dust collect onto the ground. Her interest shifted however, when she heard the sound of movement along the ground just nearby. Instinctively, Korra spun in the direction from whence it came and pulled an arrow from her quiver and hooked it into her bow. She took aim in the direction that it came, anticipating what was to come. If it was anything, for that matter.

Stumbling out from some low brush was a figure covered in a tattered dark black hooded cloak. The figure tripped just in the clearing and fell to the ground, unmoving. Korra kept her aim on the figure as it stumbled and fell, recognizing the cloak almost immediately. It was one of her people, that must have been following her. But something was different about the figure's skin tones. It was warm and was almost the same color as Sin's. She dropped her bow and arrow and rushed over to the figure, kneeling before it's side. Pausing, Korra waited and watched for any movement.

The figure coughed heavily before moving to sit up, causing the hood to fall and reveal a younger female blood elf. Korra reacted with a startled jump back from her. She froze when the young elf turned to look at Korra, her eyes were no longer the red of her people, but a light blue. Confusion and interest clouded her mind as she stared in wonder. But the young elf seemed un-phased by the physical alterations. Concluding that whatever happened to her was merely physical and not psychological, at least for what she knew now. "My Queen." The elf whispered, and from her sitting position nodded at Korra, just like she had to Sin when to two first met.

"Young One, do you feel alright?" Korra asked, moving closer and touching the young elf's chin. She lifted the elf's head a little to inspect her eyes and skin tone more closely. In response the elf nodded slightly and Korra released her hand as she sent a sideways glance of confusion to Sin. "I've never seen anything like this…" She murmured in a confused slur that was almost inaudible. Worry crossed her expression as she glanced back to where Sin had just turned one of the dark vines to ash. She couldn't help but to contemplate the possibility of the two incidences relating.

Sin felt his heart race as Korra drew her bow but what came stumbling out shocked him even more, Now not only had Korra some how found her way in to his forest but another outsider had some how slipped in to the forest with out his knowledge. This made Sin a little uneasy and as he thought about it he saw no other chose but to take some kind of action. Lifting his head he let out a howl, Now all he had to do was wait.

Turning back to Korra as he waited he saw that the other female was more like him then Korra, This one had pale skin yes but still it was not as pale as Korra or as tan as his own, But her eye's had the same color as his and he had to wonder what had happen to the girl to change her so. “I have never seen anything like this as well, But I find it most troubling that you and this girl have some how made it in to this part of the forest with out me knowing.” Sin told her his lips thin pressed and a tense look on his face.

Just as Sin was about to say something a howl not his own was heard and it came just out side the tree line, Looking to Korra held up his hand. “Please do not be alarmed and do not attack, This beast is my forest brethren.” Sin told her. Walking to the tree line Sin then knelled down and held out his hand, As he looked in to the thick bush a rustle and then a large gray wold pranced out in to the open and walked up to Sin leaning in to his hand. “Hello old man, I have need of you if you and your pack if you are willing.” Sin said to the large male wold and the wold acted as if he understood and licked Sin's cheek. “Ok then, See those beings over there?” Sin asked and the wold looked up with it's stormy gray eye's and gave Sin a snort. “Yes they do not smell as we do I know, But that is good, imprint there smell and then you and your pack search our territory, Leave no cave or nook investigated, If you find a being like these do not engaged but send word back to me and stay on there trail tell I come. If you fill your pack is in danger leave at once, Your pack is mine and I will not have the blood spilled.” Sin said as he petted the wolfs head and the wolf pushed in to Sin knocking Sin over and gave him a wolfish grin before running back in to the forest. Sin got back up and dusted him self off and Yelled out to the old gray wolf. “I'll remember that next time I make a kill and you come bagging for scraps old man!”

Walking back to Korra Sin gave her a nod before he sat in front of her and the other female. “The wolf pack well find any others that have come to this area forest, They will not harm your people but you have to understand that it is my first duty to keep this forest safe and with your sudden apprentice alone with her worry's me.” Sin told Korra but gave her a smile. “Now do you think the girl is in need of rest, She looks warn out from what I see. If so she is more then welcome to rest in the hut, But I think you should help as it is I am unsure if I should touch you and your kind at this point and time.” He said as he looked up a Korra.

Korra was taken aback by the sound of him letting out a howl. Her lips twisted with worry as she looked back down at the young elf. At his remark, she couldn't help but to tense nervously as she kept her eyes on the girl before her. She couldn't help but to wonder if it was her fault that things were happening like this. Her curiosity causing her to travel all the time, maybe it was because she left her home of the forest that things are spreading almost like the plague? And on top of that, her own people have been following her, which was just adding to the stress. Korra's train of thought was completely destroyed when she heard another howl, one that didn't come from Sin.

Fighting the temptation of grabbing an arrow and hooking it into her bow, her face went blank as she watched the area from whence the howl had come from. When a large grey wolf came into the clearing, Korra was struck with shock and awe. Never before had she seen anything like it. She watched the new creature with a locked gaze as Sin seemed to have conversation with it. "If you find a being like these do not engaged but send word back to me and stay on there trail tell I come. If you fill your pack is in danger leave at once, Your pack is mine and I will not have the blood spilled." Korra frowned deeply, figuring that it must have been her travels that were dragging her people from the darker lands. Looking back down at the young elf, who's eyes were glued to the wolf just as Korra's were moments ago, Korra let out a small sigh.

When Sin returned to the pair, and the wolf retreated, the words that Sin spoke didn't settle in her ears. They rushed in, with a ringing sound, before they fluttered out of the other side of her skull, in twisted phonemes. She stared down at the young elf, her eyes full of worry but her expression blank and cold. It was only when the younger woman touched Korra's cheek, did she snap back to reality. "My Lady." The Young One said softly, as she moved to her knees. Her hand fell from Korra's face, moving into her lap and folding with the other hand.

"Yes?" She responded after a rather long pause, and the younger one blinked nervously.

"Are you alright?" She asked, her head tilting ever so slightly as she watched her Queen with worry. Korra nodded in response then glanced at Sin, the words he had spoke earlier finally registering in her head. With extreme delay, she nodded at his worry, understanding that it was completely rational and understandable. However, when the topic came up of how the younger elf felt, Korra's thoughts twisted again. She heavily contemplating taking the elf with her and leaving, hoping that maybe that would be the solution to the issue at hand. She couldn't help but to think that it was her that was causing the chaos to break out in Sin's region of the forest. It was the only thing that made sense to her!

The younger elf glanced over at Sin. "I've never seen her in such a… trance." She said before standing on her own two feet, and that's when she noticed her hands. They were no longer the color she recognized, but instead they were warmer and the tint was closer to Sin's than Korra's. Her eyes went wide as they flicked up to Sin, her worry only growing stronger. She opened her mouth to speak, but Korra rose abruptly and stepped in-between the pair.

"I think her change has something to do with the vines." She glanced back over her shoulder at the young elf. "What is your name, Young One?" She asked and the elf responded almost immediately. Her thoughts shifted to a thought of how maybe it was Sin that would start a balance between both regions of the forest. That is, if it was only made up of the two regions.

"Kayri, My Lady." She said with a nod and Korra turned to look back at Sin. She lifted her arm around Kayri's shoulders and pulled her against her side. "Let's get you rest." Korra spoke softly.

Sin looked clam as he sat next to Korra with the young elf girl between them but on the inside Sin was a mix of emotions, He was happy to have some to talk to, He was scared at the fact there was others in the forest he never knew about, He was worried that maybe it was them that were bringing the black vines in to the forest, He was thoughtful not to say any of this out loud. The last thing he wanted was to start a fight with people he knew nothing about, That and deep down he didn't want to be alone any more. He had to figure out what all this meant and as his mind worked on answers he showed Korra and Kayri bake around to the front of the hut but stopped at the door way and placed his hand on the frame. “Invited they are and pass freely they may as long night will always pass on in to day.” Sin whispered and in doing so created a new spell on his hut to always let these to beings come in to his home as long as there was day and night. He just hope that he would never regret in doing so.

Sin had learned from his mother that he own father could craft grate spells and even tho she had only one night with the eleven lord he reputation known all around as a spell binder and he had even don't so the night he laid with her. It was a simple spell only to warn her cold hut but she memorized how he had done so and when Sin was older she told him, It was true Sin's own wording was not as artful as the words his father used but the spells his castes still held power and got better the more he worked on them.

As he entered the hut he moved to the bed of furs and started to drag it closer to the fire pit, This also opened up the area where his cellar door was and if he needed to get in there and Kayri was a sleep he would hate having to wake her if he needed something from below so he thought it was smarted to do things this way. “Just lay her down there and I'll be right back.” He said as he walked over a grabbed the pot by the fire pit and walked out side. When he returned moments latter the pot was empty and he had fresh picked herbs in his other hand. He then grabbed a gored of clean water and filled the pot up and after that he tossed in the herbs in with it and placed it back on the fire just like her had done for the mint tea. “After living here for so long I found meany different herbs and these here will restore ones health more swiftly then with out, Just to show that there is nothing wrong with the tea I to will drink some but I only hope it will help her. You did say you had trouble taking in water and food from the forest I just hope she will not be the same as you.” Sin said as he looked back to Korra.

Korra wasted no time in laying Kayri down on the bed of furs, kneeling on the wooden floor beside her as she stroked her hair. The younger elf looked up at her with a worried expression, "My lady... the people, they're-" She started but was cut off by the hushing sound of Korra's voice. She stroked the top of her head, and trailed her hand down towards Kayri's jaw with a soft smile. "Let us not worry about those things now." She said in a voice that matched her fragile touch on the younger being. Korra knew that she wanted to talk about what was happening with her people, but it wasn't the right time and she wasn't going to exhaust Kayri any more than she already was.

When Sin returned with berries, Korra's expression turned worried. He was right, Kayri may reject the food too. But she remembered how when she was in a desperate state, that it was only then that the forest would aid her. The thought gave her hope as she moved to grab some of the berries from the bowl. She had to work quickly, for fear of them rotting in her hands again. She used her free hand to prop Kayri up into her arms as she dumped the berries into the younger's open hands. Kayri stared at them for a moment, as well as Korra, who hoped that they weren't about to rot into dust. To their good fortune, they didn't, and Kayri popped a few into her mouth chewing slowly.

She swallowed with a look of satisfaction on her face, and started to eat a few more of them. She smiled at Sin, as a sort of 'thank you' then moved to sit up on her own. Korra sat back onto the floor watching Kayri with intense eyes, waiting and hoping that she wouldn't spit them back up. But as time continued to pass, and she ate more, things were looking up and Korra's tense demeanor soon relaxed. She turned to look over her shoulder at Sin with a sincere smile. "Thank you, Sin. This is greatly appreciated." She said with her smile still plastered on her face. As she turned to look back at Kayri, she tucked a loose strand of her pale blond hair behind her ear and let out a sigh of relief.

Sin watched and hoped as Kayri ate the berries and was just as reveled as Korra when the girl seemed to eat the food just, So Sin let out a breath he seemed to not know he was holding. When Korra had said thank you he gave her a small nod and half smile as he tiled his head to the side. “I would not be a good host if I did not do my best to see to both your and Kayri health would I?” He said the a sparkle in his eye's. But as some as it was there it was gone and then he moved about the hut to get the cups for the tea.

As he poured the first cup he thought of more things and even to him self he thought all of it a bit dazed so once more he push his thought aside and like always they would some how make then self know as he just walked threw the monitions. He placed the cup of tea to cool as he poured the next and placed the pot back over the fire. He then walked back over to the bed of furs and hand the cup to Korra and not Kayri for inspection. He knew he had right to there trust so as it was so he took his and gulped down his own cup. “Now it not the best tasting tea, It has more of a earthy taste but if you get it over with faster it's not so bad.” He told them both.

After that he felt a little bad for them both, As far as he could see Korra was some one with power to her people. Being here with no other like them to help them and unsure of what to do and what it would lead to, But he was also unsure so already they had something in common. “Korra....” He said and looked up in to her eye's, “I'm sure she will be fine, The tea works fast and will help her regain her strength. But if you feel that you are not safe here or think it better to return to your home land...Please go with my best wish's.” Sin said, His voice lased with worry. Really he didn't want to be alone again so soon but knew it was the right thing to do if it was best for them.

~~~~~~~Deep In The Forest~~~~~~~
The gray wolf had made it back to it den where his pack had waited, The first he greeted was his alpha female and the pup's that trailed behind her. Soon after that the rest of his pack surrounded him and after that he pulled away let out growls as he moved and by the time he was dome most of the pack was behind him as he left the den with a the alpha female and the beta female with the pup's.
As the packed moved out the split in to lesser groups tell it was four groups of three. The packed moved fast, It was not for Sin to ask for anything from his forest brethren and they all felt he was truly one of there pack so there feet moved fast as the spread out threw the forest. All of them vowing not to fail there pack brother, They would search ever inch of the forest that was there region for these beings not from these lands.
Korra watched Sin pour two cups of tea, her focus on Kayri for the most part. Korra rarely acted like the mother of her people, and not just their leader. But this side of her had surfaced now, in this moment as she continued to stroke Kayri's hair and give her warm smiles. She was making sure that she was okay before herself, which was something she had always done as a leader. Except it was typically a lot colder and less heart-felt. Kayri couldn't help but to smile at this side of Korra, relishing in the moment while it was there. When Sin handed Korra the tea, she glanced into the cup, taking a whiff of the warm steam that emanated from the fluid. She merely let a small nod slip before handing Kayri the cup as the younger elf leaned upwards against Korra. Kayri smiled up at Sin, sending him a quick 'thank you', before she started to sip on the tea. When she realized the taste was most foul, she gulped it down quickly and finished off the beverage.
Korra couldn't help but to frown at the words Sin spoke. She didn't want to leave him, especially since she had just met someone that wasn't of her species. Someone who was a part of the forest she had only dreamed of as a child. She returned his gaze with sad, distant eyes. Korra knew she had to go home, especially if Kayri had come all this way to tell her that something was wrong. She broke her stare with Sin, and turned to look back down at Kayri, everything was serious now. "Dearest, what were you going to tell me?" She asked, her expression cold and almost angry.
"The people, they're going mad. Since you've been gone for so long they don't think that you plan a return. Fights are breaking out, people are leaving Felwood and venturing off into other regions." She started, her words came out rushed. Korra stood quickly, moving away from both of them and turning towards the door. She stopped in the threshold, staring at the handle blankly. She had to leave, for the sake of the forest. She was causing this problem, and she needed to stop it. Anger swelled inside of her bloodstream, knowing that she would have a lot of damage control to handle. Her people would soon learn their places once again. Korra closed her eyes for a moment, taking in a deep breath before she turned back around to look at Sin and Kayri.
"Kayri and I will leave at nightfall." She started, "Sin..." Korra stepped over towards him, with a rather quick walk. She studied his expression momentarily, before she gently raised a hand to touch his arm. It was a genuine gesture, all though it went completely against who she was in the eyes of her people. "You are welcome to come with us. See Felwood for your own eyes. Maybe it can help us come to a conclusion about the vines..." She trailed off, desperate that her words would convince him to come. She didn't want to part paths just yet, considering how recently they had met and how little she still knew about his regions of the woods. But she had to go, and that was final.
To say Sin was shocked would have been a under statement and his mouth opened and closed but he was at a loss for words, So he gave her a small nod. He really should have thought it over but he was so desperate to be around someone that his mind must have slipped. “Blu come here!” He called and soon the little song bird was once more at his side. “I am going on a trip out of the area and you have to stay here.” He told the bird but it flapped it's wings and started to chirp in anger. “Now don't start Blu, You know full well I need you to stay here and keep a eye on thing and also the wolfs may come by and I want you to keep them here tell I get back.” Sin said and the bird gave a bob of his head before he flew back out the hut.
“You said we live at nightfall, Well that's not to far off now so just let me pack a few things and I'll be ready.” He said in a happy tone that almost made him sound that of a younger boy. He walked over to the cellar and opened it door and jumped down. The first thing he tossed up was two sets of full quivers, Then a sack filled with roots and herb. Next he pulled him self out of the cellar only to be holding three fur cape's, He walked over and handed the two black fur cape's to Korra leaving him with the white fur cape. “It's not yet the warm part of the year here and the nights can and do get cold.” Sin told them both. The capes were that of wolfs but Sin never had killed the wolfs to get the fur he only salvaged them after the pack had had a bad winter. He was never one to wast what the forest left for him and had also used some of there bones to a small knife he held in his boot and a few arrow tips as well.
Sin then walked back to the table and picked up his leather pack and put the dried fish that was left in it, Along with a gourd for water. He walked back to the cellar and closed the door, Picking up the sack of roots and herb he also placed this in his pack before taking up the two quivers. He then turned to Korra with a smile holding out one of the quivers. “The arrows are made with some good wood and the tips are mostly stone but you may find a few made of bone. It was to hard to make them all that way and I found it easier to work with the stone.” He said proudly as he offered her the gift. “Now I'm not like mother where she need to eat often thew out the day, I on the other hand only need to eat a good meal every few days...So I hope you don't mind if that as we travel I hunt?” He asked as he pulled on the heave white fur cape only to have his white hair lost in to the fur.
Korra and Kayri started to ready themselves after Sin dismissed himself. Korra stepped outside, clipping on her quiver and slung her bow around her as well, before heading back inside. When Sin offered her the quiver she smiled, grateful of his offering. She clipped the quiver around her after inspecting the arrows. Having both sets of artillery clad, the clips created a cross on her chest. "Thank you, I really appreciate it." She said with a gentle touch on his arm again. Then tugged on the fur cloak over her lightweight one. She pulled up the hood of hers, realizing that if she was to hide in shadow, she would not be seen. She couldn't help but to smile devilishly at the thought, before noting on how Sin's was white and that he would not be able to blend as well in the night. Kayri pulled on hers, standing just behind Korra, copying her leader in pulling her own hood up. The hoods hid about half of their faces, including their obviously orange-red eyes and their long elven ears.
At Sin's question, Korra nodded with a small smile before removing her hand from him. "That will be fine. We're only about a weeks walk away." She said, but there was a falter in her statement, since she did not know if it was still the same. Or if the darkness had grown and spread further in her absence. She frowned at the thought as she bent over and made sure that her boots were snug. She had run into some interesting things on her way here, and she had almost lost her shoes in a full-on sprint. She wasn't going to risk that again, that was for sure. Looking at both Kayri and Sin, Korra made an approving nod before stepping out of the hut. Kayri followed after her, but turned to look at Sin.
"We travel at night, because if there is anything nocturnal, it is usually on our side." She said with a small laugh before glancing up at Korra, who was walking into the woods. She started in the same direction she had come from when she had first been following Sin. Kayri skipped for a moment, excitedly before slowing down into a walk, giving her Queen some distance as she started to recall the way the were to go.
As Korra walked ahead, she couldn't help but to think about what Sin's reaction to Felwood might be. To her, when she was just a child it was a beautiful place. Everything was so interesting and ready to be explored by her. And it had been that way until she found the region Sin was from. The first time, it was with her father. He had taken her, knowing that one day her adventurous side would send her there. She could remember seeing the green plants for the first time, and how she had thought they were so weird looking. She was uncomfortable by it all, since it was so unfamiliar. But as her journeys continued, Korra started to lose interest in Felwood. Her new explorations turned into those of pure curiosity.
Once she knew she was on the right track, Korra stopped and turned to face the other two, waiting for them to catch up. She knew they'd have to stick closely together later on in the journey since her people would not be too fond of Sin on a first glance. And along with that, there were things in the forest that didn't necessarily fear her or her people, and probably not Sin either. She noted on the thought as stood. She could hear the wind creating sounds, causing her to be on high alert already. Korra was tense, ready to fight at any given second, but she knew that so long as they were in Sin's region there was less to worry about. Especially since Sin was with them.
