Introduction

The Summer To End Them All
It’s the summer to end them all for this group of friends in the city of New Orleans. Each one is graduating there high school year, and the summer they have now will be there last together before being split up, going off in their own paths. Rather it is to college, or university, or to whatever other thing they have decided upon. They’ve all known each other for so long, each become so close. They even all made a pack together that that would always stay together, no matter what, distance or not.
The summer is filled with love, fun, and drama. It’s these entire kids last bow.

The Plot

This role play will start the Monday on the final week of school, this week is filled with goodbyes, last hoorahs, and those fun little senior pranks that makes everyone but the faculty giggle. So much is going on for these seniors, many many activities. One of them of course being, the graduation ceremony, and the prom. This small group of friends is doing them all together, dysfunctional or not.

When that's all over, then comes the summer. Yes, it's something that most students look forward too, but this group of friends are just a bit saddened by this. Why? Well it's because after this they all part way, going of to travel or move or college, or university.

This is their story.

The point of this role play is to be laid back, kind of a slice- of – life feel. We can all come up with later plot ideas in the OOC.

Character Skeleton

- There is no set character skeleton, but if you would like one please message me and I can provide you one ^^
- Remember, they are graduating, so around 18-19.
- I prefer real face claims. (And let me know your face claim so I can add it to the front page)
- Because each character knows each other already, we will have to message each other about 1x1 relationships between character, how they met, etc. I will make a thread in the OOC so we all can discuss it as well.
- With this, I want every character so have one special bond with each others character. Examples are romantic ones (Dating or someone likes someone etc.) , or if one saved ones life before, something like that. Just so you have more complex ways to role play with each other and can delve into more history. You can have this already have happened, or make it happen while we are role playing

Rules

1) No God Modding, no Mary Sues etc.
2) Swear all you want, I don't mind.
3) Romance is encouraged, just please don't go into detail of some "Events" That may occur, go to PM for that.

β€œToo-ra-loo-ra, too-ra-loo-rye, aye, and we can sing just like our fathers, come on Eileen, oh, I swear what he means (what he means), at this moment you mean everything...” rang out the lyrics of her alarm, bright and early at 7 am. This was the eighteen year olds favourite song, called Come on Eileen sung, and completely rocked by the Dexys Midnight Runner. Its release was in 1982, and by god, Violet thought it so much better than all the silly twerking stuff they had now. Reaching her arms up, she hummed along with the alarm clock song, and stretched out a bit, before swinging her legs off her bed, and standing upright, her bare feet cold on the floor.

Grabbing her phone, she turned the song off, but still hummed along to the tune that would probably continue running through her head the whole morning until she listened to another song. Grabbing an elastic band that was on the bed side table, she put her hair up in all its messy glory. Moving towards her door, she stepped into the houses hall way and through the room next door to hers

β€œWakey wakey!” She said, moving to sit on the edge of Jess’s, one of her best friends, bed. Violet lived with her and her family. She had ever since she was around sixteen. Violet had a nice upbringing with her own family up until she was nine years of age; she hadn’t lived in this city then, she was actually in London, hence her accent, but when she was nine her mother died in a car accident with some drunk driver. So, her father moved her and himself here as it seemed like the right decision to do in his grief. She didn’t understand, but she wasn’t going to argue as she knew what a hard time it was. It had been a sad two years until she was eleven, but then that grew into a rough, angry, and merciless five years. Her dad started drinking, gambling, and all that kind of stuff as he could never let go of his grief. It all started with verbal abuse, like most situations, but then turned into something more violent. She hadn’t been angry at him then. She felt sorry for her father, his mom was his high school sweetheart and it couldn’t have helped that Violet looked so much alike her. So she took it, all the abuse and more. But one night, her dad came home especially bad, and when Violet said she was going out to see friends, he got upset and harsher than usual, actually breaking her wrist. You could imagine that maybe that was a sign Violet should get out of there. So she did, and ended up at Jess’s family home, where the kindly took her in.

Poking the girls shoulder, she smiled and said β€œIt’s our last Monday of high school ever; you got to get up, especially if you want hot shower water.” She said teasingly, getting up, and moving out the door once more.

Grabbing her towel, she went to the shower and took about fifteen minutes, basking in the hot water that was still there. Walking out, she proceeded to put back on her PJS, and combed through her now smooth hair and brushed her teeth.. Placing the towel on top her head, she made her way back to her room, but stopped as Jess’s dad walked out of the kitchen, tired and coffee in his hand. He grunted tiredly in greeting, and Violet just grunted back sarcastically with a smile.

As she walked into her room, which was really just the spare bedroom, she closed the door, removing the towel from her head and letting her loosely curled damp hair fall over her shoulders. Drying it with her surprisingly quiet and cheap hair dryer, she moved quickly to her clothes drawer when done, putting on her days outfit.

Moving back out her door, she made her way to the kitchen, writing a note saying she was leaving to school a bit earlier, and stuck it on the fridge. Quickly making herself a slice of toast, she downing a small glass of orange juice along with it. Quickly slipping on her shoes, she made it out the door, but quickly did a turnaround back into her room, grabbing her book bag, phone, and headphones before leaving once more.

The high school she went to was pretty close by, only around a fifteen minute walk. It was sunny out as well, so she enjoyed it. Listening to her music, she breathed in the fresh air that she herself always found herself craving. Violet really loved the outdoors, morning, afternoons, especially night. She just felt too cooped up inside. Her music played softly in her ears and she blocked out the world, and three songs later, she arrived at the front glass doors of the school.

Walking in, her green eyes widened at the mess that was the common area of the school, streamers hung from the ceilings, balloons everywhere, and a huge banner read β€œLast week, seniors!” In big, neon red painted letters. She was unsure if this was students doing, or the idea of the faculty. Whatever it was, she was defiantly taken aback by it. Kicking some of the school colored balloons from her path, she found her way to her locket, and opened it.

On the inside of the locker door was little decoration, only a couple of pictures taken of her and her friends. She smiled a bit as she saw it, grabbing out some of the stuff needed for first and second period.

The first thing Henry usually feels in the morning is Rocky's tongue on his face. Who needs an alarm clock when you have a dog. Not today, though. Today, his final Monday of high school, his mother was waking him up. "Henry," she said, sitting on the end of his bed. "Whatever you want for breakfast this morning, you can have. This is the last Monday you have to wake up early... well, until college atleast." Henry opened one eye, looking at the short, skinny lady sitting by his feet. His mother wasn't ever lovey-dovey. She never made him breakfast in the morning, because she was usually at work. His father was the one who did things for him.

"That's okay, Ma," he replied. He slowly sat up, throwing the blankets off of him. He patted his mother's shoulder, and swung his legs over her head, standing up. "I'll stop at Burger King or something before school. I don't want to keep you from getting to work." As much as he wanted his mom to pay attention to him, he knew her job always came first. That's how it always was. After all, you need money to raise a child.

Henry grabbed his outfit for the day, a middle school soccer t-shirt and khakis. After taking a quick shower, he sat on his bed and pulled out his phone. Meet me at BK? he texted his best friend, Mason. The two always met for breakfast on the last Monday of the school year. It had been a tradition since they first becae friends. While waiting for a response, he sat at the kitchen table by his father. "Last week of school, son," his dad said. "Make it the best one yet. You may never see any of these kids again."

Henry nodded. "Will do, Dad."

He was out of the house early, anxious to start the week. His GPA wasn't so hot, and exams were coming up. His travel soccer team was having their last game ever. He had to say goodbye to all of the friends that he wouldn't see over the summer. In the car on the way to Burger King, he cranked up Lil Wayne, and rolled the windows down. It was a beautiful day, perfect for his last week of the "best four years of his life."

Mason was sleeping in his usual resting place, a beat up, red couch that had been around longer than he had. Currently it presided in a room that looked as if a tornado had gone through it, Mason's bedroom. The dingy couch had been all over the house. In the living room, the garage, his brother's room, and even the kitchen. And after a lot of convincing, the teen managed to land it here. Despite the couch being ugly, broken, and just plain gross, Mason loved the couch. Out of rage from a fight with his parents Mason had thrown his bed into his neighbors pool so the couch was also the only piece of furniture in his room comfortable enough to sleep on.

Mason was sprawled across the couch and like most days, would regret having chosen the position during his slumber. He would always wake up with a sore body part from sleeping on the couch in some weird position and for some reason never could find a non weird position that wouldn't give him aches. A bag of Doritos and a cheese covered phone lay on his stomach which moved up and down with the rhythm of his breathing. Vibrations started to come from the phone, shaking it. Someone had texted him. Mason continued to sleep. After a couples seconds, a song started to play from his phone. A ringtone he had downloaded from some friend a couples years back. It was loud and obnoxious, sort of like himself, but it did the trick of waking him up.

A moan escaped Mason's lips. He shifted his body onto his side making the bag and phone drop to the floor. He caught the phone before it hit the ground, but the Doritos weren't so fortunate. They spilled onto a layer of clothes covering the floor. Mason checked his phone for who had sent the text. It was one of his closest friends, Henry.

The text simply said, Meet me at BK?. Mason was always up for some grub, especially if it meant getting to leave the house so he replied to his friend, Good Morning to you too, beautiful. Sure, be there soon. With that, he tucked his phone into his pants pocket, and headed towards his bathroom, not before stepping onto the Doritos laying on the floor.

Within several minutes, Mason had finished getting ready. Before he headed out of his bedroom, something hit him. Why had Henry wanted to have breakfast with him? It only happened on rare occasions like on every last Monday of school. Pulling his phone back out, he checked the date. Sure enough, it was what Mason feared. It was the last Monday of his senior year at high school. It wasn't that he didn't want to have breakfast with Henry, but it was his last week at high school. And the coming summer was also the last together with his dearest friends.

With a sigh, Mason slung his bag over his shoulder, and headed out his bedroom door. Making sure to avoid any contact with his family, he jogged towards the garage. Once inside, he entered his dad's truck and rolled on out to Burger King.

Jessica had no desire to wake up. She was drifting through her subconscious quite nicely. Her phone, however, had other ideas. A loud rooster call bounced off the walls of her room. Jessica sat bolt upright in bed, her hand automatically groping in the air, searching for her phone. Her fingers closed around the cool device and she flicked the alarm off. She looked around the room bleary eyed, trying to remember what day it was when she saw Violet sitting on the edge of her bed. "Morning." She managed to croak out, her voice still heavy with sleep.

Jessica smiled good naturedly when Violet prodded her shoulder, β€œIt’s our last Monday of high school ever; you got to get up, especially if you want hot shower water.” Jessica nodded, vaguely understanding what Violet was saying to her. Jessica swung her legs out of the bed and padded towards her wardrobe, hunting for an outfit. She sat patiently on her bed, waiting for Violet to finish in the shower. Some fifteen minutes later she heard Violet leave the bathroom and Jessica ran down to the bathroom, claiming it before anyone else could. The bathroom quickly resembled a steam room as Jessica stood beneath the spray of the shower, her head clearing as she did. She switched the shower off and pulled her pajamas back on, leaving her damp hair down, sticking to her back.

Pulling on her outfit for the day, she heard the front door close. Thinking nothing of it, Jessica blasted her hair with the hairdryer, taking the excess moisture of her hair. She preferred to let it dry naturally but she wanted to take to time to get to school before the lower years took over the halls. She grabbed her bag, ditching it by the front door before making her way into the kitchen. She noticed a note on the fridge from Violet. That explained the door then. Violet poured some cereal and milk into a bowl. She didn't usually eat cereal on a morning, but it gave her time to think a little. Her last week of highschool then off out into the big wide world. In her freshman year she couldn't wait for graduation, but now she'd bite someone's hand off at the chance to go back to freshman. Finishing off her cereal, Jessica dumped her bowl in the sink, "Bye guys," she called through the house before leaving for school.

On her arrival at school, Jessica saw the huge 'Last week, Seniors!' sign hanging above the door. She shook her head, not believing it had come round so quickly. She kicked her way through the brightly coloured balloons, batting a few out of her face as she made her way to her locker. There was one door between Jessica and Violet's lockers so she was still able to talk to her friend. She ditched her cap in her locker, grabbing the books and files she needed for her first lessons, "You took off early," she said, catching up to Violet as they made their way through the school, "I'm guessing the guys haven't arrived yet."

Violet closed her locker door, and straightened out her book bag so it felt more comfortable on her shoulder. She turned around, only to almost slam into some of the football guys running down the halls yelling stuff like "Lets go Seniors!" Or "Hell yeah!" Their fists slammed against some of the lockers in purpose of making noise, and the loud roots led her to realize that they were really just routey and excited. She laughed a bit as they kept racing down the halls, but one familiar brunette boy, who must have been one of Henrys sports friend or something, stopped to grab her hand and spin her around, yelling "Last week baby!" And kissed the girl hard, then ran down continuing to slam the lockers and just make noise. Violet blinked, and chuckled a bit, thinking, 'Yeah, that was too excited.'

As they passed, she continued walking, until the point when Jess caught up with her, and so she slowed down to a lower paced walk. She nodded at her comment of her leaving early and said "Yeah, I thought I might try to barter with Mr.Watson again about keeping that old acoustic." She smiled. Mr.Watson was her music teacher, and probably the only teacher she liked, and who actually liked her back. Since she started high school, she had used to same older and scratched guitar. Mr.Watson was thinking of getting a couple of new ones, so she kept trying to convince him to let her keep that one, that she named Moriarty after reading Sherlock. He was close to letting her as well, so she just kept playfully pestering him.

Jess continued, saying "I'm guessing the guys haven't arrived yet." and nodded her head once more. "Yeah, their not. I think they do that weird breakfast thing." She shrugged, pulling out her phone to text one of them. "Maybe they'll bring me coffee." She mumbled, writing a message to Henry which read "Hey, if either Mace or you want to get me a coffee I will be forever grateful and loving, and you get a favour I have to agree to no questions asked." And clicked send. She might regret that later, but hey. Coffee.

Stopping in front of the wooden oak door of the music room, she said to Jessica "Hey, I'll be one minute," and walked in, glancing around the empty room filled with an array of new and old musical instruments of any kind. "Hello?" She asked, peeking into the the office of Mr. Watson. The teacher, who sat hunched over in his chair looking at his computer, thick rimmed reading glasses falling of the edge of his nose, glanced up. "Oh, violet." He smiled, taking off his glasses and putting them on top his head. "Hey, Have you thought any more about the guitar?" She smiled, leaning against the door. He nodded, and span the chair a bit, side to side. "Yeah, I am defiantly getting some new guitars, but I need it for a bit longer. I'd rather it go to you then trashed, so It's yours." Violet smiled wide and clapped her hands together. "You are a god send teacher, and everyone should bow down to you." She said, moving away from the frame. That was her way of saying thanks. He just laughed and waved her away, saying "I know. But I have lessons to plan, so shoo." Violet did just that, and hopped out of the door, smiling as she said to Jess, "I got the guitaaaar." In a sing song voice.

Henry pulled into the Burger King, and got the closest spot to the door. He didn't see Mason's dad's truck yet. His phone vibrated with a text from him. Good morning to you too, beautiful. Sure, be there soon. it said. Henry chuckled, pulled the keys out of his car, and headed into Burger King. He claimed a booth by throwing down his backpack and varsity jacket. He went to the counter to order. The girl taking his order was Jennie. She had graduated last year, and her and Henry may have dated way back when.

"Henry, nice to see you," she said, smiling. "What can I get you?" Henry stared at the menu. He didn't come here often. His soccer coach made his team track all of their meals, everyday. Fast food didn't look good on the logs. "Can I get chicken strips and a medium latte?" His cell phone buzzed again, with another text. This time, it was from Violet. Hey, if either Mace or you want to get me a coffee I will be forever grateful and loving, and you get a favour I have to agree to no questions asked. "Make that two coffees."

After Henry paid for the breakfast, he saw Mason walk in. "Hey dude," Henry said. "Our tables in the corner." When he sat down, he texted Violet back. And what kind of favor are we talking about here?(; Just kidding. Medium latte on it's way. Henry ate quickly, feeling kind of guilty for eating unhealthy. But what could he say to his coach? He could've gotten the pancakes. That would have been way worse.

"One more week, then it's parties, parties, parties," Henry said. He didn't know if he would party at all the summer, really. He didn't want to get in trouble and ruin his soccer scholarship to the University of Washington. He was getting a full-ride to be a starter on ther soccer team. They were number six in the country right now. He was leaving in August, and couldn't wait. The only exception was that he had to get a 3.0 GPA, which he currently had. But exams could ruin it for him.

After finishing his breakfast with Mason, Henry left for school. When walking in the front doors, the first thing he saw was the sign. "Last week, Seniors!" It was the cheerleader's doing. His football team was running down the hall, right at him. "Come on, Henry!" "Run with us, captain." He high-fived a few of them as they passed. When his good friend, Mickey, ran past him, he turned around and came back to stand at Henry's side for a few seconds. "You know your friend, Vivian?"he said. "It's actually Violet. But yes. What about her?" he replied. "Totally kissed her," Mickey said.

Before Henry had a chance to say anything, Mickey was off and running again. And Henry was on his way to find "Vivian."

Jessica waited outside the music room, twirling her necklace around while she did. The corridors were rapidly filling with excited seniors looking forward to graduation. And the small matter of prom. She had only just managed to pick out a dress she felt comfortable in and then had to go shopping for comics afterwards so she didn't feel weird. Jessica wasn't usually one for huge social gatherings, but there was no way Violet was going to let her miss prom. Jessica was still amazed that some people in her class had actually managed to make it to graduation. Hell, she was amazed that she had managed to get to graduation.

Violet came back out the music room, looking pretty happy, "I got the guitaaar," She said in a sing-song voice.

"That's great!" While Jessica had never been much of a musician herself, she knew how much music meant to Violet and this meant that she no longer had to scrape together the money to buy a decent guitar. She saw Henry coming down the corridor and gave him a little half wave when she was sure he was looking. She couldn't see Mason, but Jessica was sure he wouldn't be far behind. "Hey," she smiled when Henry finally got to them, "How was your weekend?" The question had become something of a ritual and the answer rarely changed but she would always ask the guys how their weekend had been.

Violet nodded her head excitedly as Jess commented on how great it was. So far, this week was starting out pretty good, and even better, Violets prom dress would soon be ready. She hadn't really wanted to pay for something expensive that would mean nothing to her in the future. So the weekend before this one, she dropped by her dads house, in which she didn't mention to anyone, and took her mom's dress which had the prettiest fabric that Violet often dazed about when seeing pictures of her Mom in it. She gave it to one of her friends who was good at sewing, and asked her to make something simple from it. She took Violets measurements, and from that point on it was just a waiting game.

There was a couple of reasons she hesitated to tell the group about this for. One, she would have to mention that she went to her dads house which was kinda a major danger call, even though she did't speak a word to him while she was there, afraid of another broken wrist. She just didn't want them to worry. Also, surprises are fun... aren't they?

As Violet reached Henry, she gave a warm smile. Henry was on of the boys in there little pack of friends, Mason being the other one who probably was close behind. Violet really liked Henry. As a friend yeah, but also in the way that someone would say like like. She had for a bit now, but was used to just plainly acting normal. It wasn't unknown that Henry was one to pick up girls and drop them kind of quick, and Violet didn't feel like really becoming one of them. She preferred at least having this close friendship with him, and really it seemed like that's how it was going to stay.

"Good morning," She stated happily in her British accent, averting her gaze to his. Laughing, she added on, "By the way, one of your football mates or something kissed me this morning, might want to tell him that that's not particularly sociable acceptable to do that to random girls." Violet Looked over at one of the digital clocks on the wall, noticing the time. "Bells about to go." She commented, adjusting her messenger bag once more.

Violet debated a bit skipping her next class, English. She was pretty sure she was just watching some cheap BBC version of Hamlet. She had pretty good attendance as it was, but felt odd skipping by herself and so she decided against it. Besides, where would she even go?

Henry stopped by the office before walking to the senior hall. "Good morning, Ms. Walsh, Mrs. Smith," He always liked to say hello to the faculty of his high school. Whatever he needed to do to get on top, athletics wise. Walking out the other office door, he turned right. The high school was pretty big. Two stories, around one thousand students. He loved living in a big city, though. He got to meet new people, and he recieved amazing opportunities that he wouldn't get in a small town.

He saw Violet and Jess standing outside the music room. His heart actually raced a little, but he wasn't sure why. He'd known Violet for awhile. She was one of those girls that you instantly liked, in two ways. She was nice. Perfect best friend material. Henry felt like he could tell her anything - or almost anything. But he also liked her as more of a friend. It was like a middle school crush, though. He couldn't just tell her. They were too close.

"Good morning. By the way, one of your football mates or something kissed me this morning, might want to tell him that that's not particularly sociable acceptable to do that to random girls." Henry rolled his eyes. He thought she would make a bigger deal of it. Mickey certainly would. He didn't have any sort of filter, but that didn't mean he kissed many girls, either. He would be tweeting about it for weeks.

Henry handed Violet her coffee. "So I've heard," he said. "Latte for you, my friend. Now lets see here. You owe me a favor. I'll think about it during AP psych and get back to you." He said goodbye to the girls and headed to class.

His first hour was AP psychology, with Mr. May, otherwise known as Mr. Slipaway. Everyone skipped his class, and Henry planned to do so today. All they were during was working on their exam review, which he had already finished. He texted Violet. Skip second and third with me? I found a cool place I want to show you!
