Introduction

ImageHunters. The unglorified saviors of our world, without them all hell would break loose, quite literally. They specialize in the supernatural, the things that can't be explained or rationalized to a simple creaking floorboard or banging pipe, with every job they do the world is rid of one more evil being, but it can seem like a never-ending and tiresome task, with little gratitude and without the guarantee that you will return tomorrow, it is a wonder how they go on. With every friend made it seems like one is lost, loved ones don't seem to last very long either, they're afraid to grow attached, the reality of death is all too real, Yet somehow they do manage to continue, soldiering on without complaint to make the world that little bit safer for you.

Everyone has a different background and reasons for becoming a hunter. Some, it has been the 'family business' for generations but for others it was an encounter that twisted your beliefs and opened up a whole new world, where things do go bump in the night. You travel around America, going from town to town, sometimes solitary, sometimes as a partnership, finding hunts and sending evil back to hell. The only place you have ever really felt at home is β€˜O’Hara’s Tavern’ a hunter friendly bar in Columbia, South Carolina, a place where you can recharge your battery's, clean your weapons, have a cold one between hunts.

I bet I sound crazy huh? Well, that's something we here all too often, something that we just shrug off, sometimes ignorance is bliss, however if you ever find yourself in a little trouble with something you can't explain, you can bet your ass we'll be there, kicking (supernatural) ass and taking names, for us it's not just a job, it's a way of life.

Cassie had never felt fear like it, she was running, that much was certain, that and the fear, she felt like screaming although that would do her no good, no one could hear her, so she ran as fast as her legs would take her, her heart pounding in her chest, her breath laboured, she didn't want to die. Suddenly she stumbled on a branch, wait, when did she end up In a Forest? With a loud grunt and a thud, Cassie hit the floor with some force, she felt the breath leave her body upon impact as her ankle swelled and wrist throbbed, she was nearing the end of her life, she could feel it in her bones. Only then did she let the tears spill down her cheeks, she thought about Bill and Jeremy, never getting the opportunity to say that she loved them. The snapping of a twig caught her attention; lying on her back, the blondes head snapped towards the sound as she readied herself for death, with a menacing growl, the thing leaped from the bushes; closing her eyes Cassandra O'Hara released a bloodcurdling scream.

With a gasp, Cassie shot up in bed, her breathing hitched as her hands desperately roamed her body, checking for any sign of injury; there was none. With a breath of relief, the blonde noted she was in the safety of her bedroom, it was only a dream, or rather nightmare, just like the ones that had plagued her dreams for weeks, she had heard dreams were premonitions, however she prayed these were not, other wise they were for telling her death. Grunting, the blonde hunter flung her legs over the side of her bed, reaching for the small pill bottle on her bedside table, she slipped two anti-anxiety pills into her mouth, swallowing them with a swig of water. A sudden barking from Beau caught her attention, with a frown, she stood up grabbing a long cardigan from the hanger and slipped it over her body before leaving her room. Trudging down the stairs, she spotted the dog clawing at the front door, something wasn't quite right, with a raise of her eyebrow as sense of foreboding washed over her along with a sudden nervousness "what is it boy?" She asked curiously, walking to the front door, upon opening it the dog shot out the house like a bullet heading straight for the bar.

Something definitely wasn't right.

Upon instinct Cassie moved to the cupboard under the stairs where she stashed one of her handguns, flicking the safety off, she quickly slipped on a pair of boots before walking out into the rain. After doing a quick perimeter check Cassie frowned upon seeing nothing out of the ordinary, she was about to turn back to the house when out of the corner of her eye she saw something dart past the window of her bar. The sense of foreboding returned as she cautiously approached the bar, gun at the ready, she was prepared to shoot. Opening the door of the Tavern the blonde slipped inside "Who's in here?" She called out, her eyes desperately searching the darkened room.

She was greeted by silence, flicking on the light, she saw nobody. "I'm going crazy" she muttered to herself, lowering her guard.

"No your not" came an oddly familiar voice, eyes wide Cassie began to turn, fear plaguing her senses, she almost caught sight of the man however a sudden rough hand grasping her hair forced her forward and with a loud thwack her head collided with the solid wooden beam, she was greeted by darkness.

An intense heat brought once again awoke Cassie's senses, although with that also brought a near unbearable pain in her head, had she been knocked out? Her eyes flickered opened, struggling to adjust to the now brightly lit room, although something seemed odd, the lights weren't suppose to be orange, that's when the pungent smell of smoke hit her. Shooting up to a sitting position, Cassie looked in horror as her bar burnt around her, ignoring the pain in her head, she figured she didn't have too much time to escape, not with the fire licking at the ceiling. Spluttering, she clambered to her feet, the smoke stinging her eyes and headed towards the door, it took a few barges to open but when it did she fell out into the cold night, gasping for clean air. Stumbling away she collapsed onto the muddy floor and stared back at her bar, the bar her parents had built. A hand flying to her mouth in shock, she could scarcely believed her eyes as the flames brought her livelihood down to an ashy mess.

Stumbling back to the house Cassie fought back the tears, opening the front door she headed straight to the kitchen and punched a number into the phone, bringing it to her ear, she waited until the beep "Bill it's me..." She croaked out, struggling to keep her emotions at bay "...I need you, please come back."

"Oh, stop," a busty brunette woman giggled. As she laughed she leaned so she was practically falling out of her shirt, not that Bill really cared. Easy was, well, easy.

"No, really," Bill replied with a large grin, leaning in to the woman's personal space. "You're the most beautiful woman in the whole bar. I thought you should know." His grin grew when the woman's group of friends giggled and cheered. They were all drunk which worked perfectly in Bill's favor. He started to walk away, waited a moment, and then hurried back. "I'm sorry," he said. "I'm Bill." He offered a hand to the woman who accepted it with a blush.

A few well-ordered shots later and Bill could have asked the brunette to do cartwheels in a hotdog suit; she would have said yes. "Bye, Ladies," he called to her friends who all but pushed the two of them out the door. He laughed as he and his chosen date made their way to his car. He vaguely wondered if he had left anything questionable out in the open but decided not to worry about it because they wouldn't be going to far anyway. There was a nice, slightly sketchy, motel just down the road that would be perfect. She wouldn't see anything, plus she was too drunk anyways.

When he made sure the woman was in her seat and buckled up, he pulled his phone out of his pocket to make sure that his brother had made it back to his hotel safely. It was a little rule between them that Jeremy had to keep him updated at least every three hours, but Bill didn't necessarily start worrying until hour five. His brother was fine and had gone to sleep two hours ago, but he was surprised to see a missed call and a voicemail from Cassie...

They hadn't exactly separated on good terms, and it wouldn't have surprised him if Cassie hired a witch to curse him (he kind of deserved it). Regardless of any point, she had called. Her name was written on the screen of his phone like it belonged there. She was the only woman in the world that he could spend forever with; the only one. She was strong, fierce, loving, and beautiful. She was everything that he had ever desired-she was perfect for him in every way.

She deserved a lot better than him, that's for damn sure. That's why he always effed it up where they were concerned. He could barely put up with himself most days; he didn't to make her put up with him.

"Why aren't we moving?" the brunette questioned the passenger seat. She cast lusty gazes up and down Bill's body as he held the phone up to his ear.

His heart jerked painfully in his chest when he heard Cassie's voice. "Get out!" he exclaimed suddenly. He unbuckled the woman and reached over her to open her door. "Go!"

The woman spared him a confused, then angry, then bitchy look before managing to stomp out of the car. "Asshole!" she yelled, but he was already squeeling out of the parking lot.

He was about three hours away from the bar and Cassie's house (he could never go too far away for too long), but he could probably make it in two. He would have shot for one and half but he couldn't reach Cassie if he was wrapped around a telephone pole.

He sent a quick text to Jeremy, guessing the younger man would wake at the sound. He was a terrible sleeper.

And a few minutes later he got a reply that said he was on his way, but Bill would get there first. And if anyone hurt a single hair on Cassie's head he would shoot to kill.

When he finally reached his destination he was staring in horror at the charred remains of the Tavern. He sped around it quickly to reach Cassie's house. "Cassie!" He yelled, the car not even fully stopped before he jumped out. "Cassie!"

[font=Book Antiqua] OOC: Just a heads up I have changed Cassie's face claim.

Cassie sat at the kitchen table, her posture stoic, expression emotionless, she wanted to cry, scream, kick, yell yet she couldn't bring herself to do so and so she sat as zoned out as a zombie, holding an ice pack to her severely bruised forehead. She had called Bill nearly three hours ago and still no response, that surprised her, although they parted on not the best of terms, she still thought he would be there for her if she rang. "Probably out fucking" she murmured, not letting the thought get the better of her, she wouldn't let that bastard bring her to tears.

Standing up from her chair she was greeted by a wave of nausea and dizziness, braving herself against the table it soon passed and she made her way up stairs and into the bathroom, wincing upon seeing the ghastly black and blue patch quickly forming on her head, hurt like a bitch too. Opening the cabinet, she pulled out a container of her brothers pain killers from when he was shot after a hunt gone wrong. They slid down her throat with ease with the help of a little water.

"Cassie!" A familiar frantic voice caught the blonde attention "Bill" she murmured as a warm feeling welled within her, he did come for her! Leaving the bathroom, she hurried down the stairs out the door, there he stood and the tears immediately fell, without hesitation she ran into his waiting arms, immediately feeling like nothing would ever again touch her.[font]

It caught Bill off guard the way the entire world shifted as soon as he saw the blonde woman running towards him. You would think that he would be used to it, but he wasn't. Every time he saw Cassie the world suddenly made sense. It was like walking into a lit room after wandering around outside in the dark-it took a minute to adjust but it was warm and safe.

The woman ran into his open arms, and he pulled her tight against him. "Are you alright?" he questioned into her soft hair that still smelled of smoke. A wave a pain hit him in the chest at the evidence of how close he had come to losing her. He pushed her away only enough to check for wounds; he considered it a good thing that all he saw was a bruise-even if seeing it made his blood boil. How dare anyone hurt her? He just barely placed a gentle touch on the darkening skin. "What happened?" he questioned.

As soon as Jeremy arrived they were heading out and finding the bastard or group of bastards that dare lay a hand on Cassie.

"Are you alright?" Came Bill's concerned voice forcing Cassie to look up at him, she nodded quickly wiping the tears from her eyes, watching as his eyes darkened as his fingers gently traced over the bruise, she winced slightly at the stinging sensation. "What happened?" He asked a second later, she could tell by his tone of voice his mood had darkened. She shrugged to his question, slightly confused herself as too what had actually happened.

"I-uh-I don't really know" she croaked, leaving the comfort of Bills arms to sit on the steps of her veranda. Running a shaky hand through her wavy hair "Beau started barking at something, and when I let him out, I followed him to the bar" she paused a minute focussing, trying o recall details "When I went inside, something grabbed me from behind smacking my head against the post, when I woke up the place was on f-fire." The emotion seeped through in her voice at the last part. From her seat on the steps, she looked past Bill to the dying embers of what was her bar, shaking her head in disbelief "What am I going to do Bill?"

Bill took a hesitant seat next to the woman. He felt rather worthless- what could he do? He couldn't un-burn her life. He couldn't snap his fingers and fix everything despite how much he wished he could. He sighed. "I wish I could tell you what do," he said softly, "But I can't." He nudged her shoulder with his own and offered the best smile he could muster. "I do know that whoever did this chose the wrong woman to mess with. You're strong, fierce, beautiful..." He turned away from her and looked at the charred remains of the bar. "You can-um... I know that you haven't really been out hunting these last few years, always manning the bar, but I'm sure you've still got it. You can... You know me and Jeremy will help you. We can find this bastard, show him that it was a mistake to leave you alive."

Wow, did that sound as bad as he thought it did? Why is it that he could talk a woman out of her clothes but when it came to Cassie his words came out a big mess more often than not... He ran a hand through his hair in exasperation. "That came out kind of wrong," he hurried. "I meant- I'm just going to stop." He leaned back so he was basically lying down and just stared up at nothing in particular.

{Jeremy will get here eventually :)}

Cassie looked towards Bill a soft smile gracing her lip at his flustered words "You can-um... I know that you haven't really been out hunting these last few years, always manning the bar, but I'm sure you've still got it. You can... You know me and Jeremy will help you. We can find this bastard, show him that it was a mistake to leave you alive." The blonde had to laugh at that, raising one of her eyebrows at him, he had never really been one for words, not when it came from the heart anyway.

She thought about the prospect of hunting, if she wanted to get away from it all this would have been a good opportunity, however this would mean also leaving behind Bill and Jeremy and she knew for certain she couldn't do that. Beside she was born and raised a hunter, what would she do in the real world?

Turning her head towards Bill she smiled tenderly at him "Thank you for coming...I kinda missed you" she admitted sheepishly, linking her hand with his own "a lot actually."

Bill held her hand and squeezed. "Of course I came," he replied. "I would always come for you," he put out there softly before he could change his mind. "Um... Jeremy will be here in two hours or so, why don't you go get cleaned up and get some rest? When he gets here we'll see what we can salvage from the bar." He stood and pulled her to go into the house. "I would offer to call the police but if this is a supernatural matter then they won't do much good." He pulled her to the bathroom nearest her room, leading the way like it was his own home.

He gently pushed her to sit on the toilet as he started the water so it would start warming up. "You'll feel better when you get the smell of smoke off." He placed a kiss on her forehead. "I'm going to salt the windows and doors, maybe draw some Devil's Traps." He kept talking even as he walked to the linen closet and pulled out some fluffy towels. "I'm going to grab some sawed-offs and Holy Water from my car." He returned to the bathroom as he finished. "I have some iron knives as well that I'll grab." He grinned almost sheepishly. "I know you can take care of yourself, but... humor me."

Resting her head on his shoulder, Cassie smiled softly at his words "I would always come for you." The touching words eased her troubled mind and in anyother situation she would have probably kissed him. She let him lead her into her house, up the stairs to the nearest toilet, surprised that he remembered his way around so well. Sitting on the edge of the toilet, the blonde watched as Bill moved around her bathroom, heating the shower and getting her towels, like a boyfriend would do for his girlfriend or a husband for a wife 'in another life' she told herself mentally.

The light kiss on her bruised forehead warranted a smile before he started talking about salting windows, devils traps and sawn off shotguns, she could have laughed at the Hunter within him starting to show. "I know you can take care of yourself, but... humor me." Now that did make her laugh "Just go" she smiled playfully "And Bill you don't know how much this means to me" she spoke softly before closing the bathroom door, she didn't lock it, she could trust Bill not to walk in on her, not that she would mind if he did, it wasn't anything her hadn't seen before anyway.

Stripping of her pyjamas Cassie slipped into the shower, sighing softly as the warm water washed over her skin, she began to wash her hair when a noise caught her attention, whipping around, she froze momentarily "Bill, is that you?" She called out, only to be greeted by silence. Shrugging it off to her imagination playing cruel tricks the blonde washed the conditioner out from her hair. Stepping out of the shower Cassie, wrapped the fluffy white towel around her body, freezing in place as a chill crept up her spine "Until next time Cassie" the same menacing voice from the bar resounded in her mind, she would have screamed if the fear hadn't paralysed her.

(So I don't remember getting an update about this! DX If you still wanna do it... If you're still here...)

Bill had just started to salt the windows when a chill ran down his spine. After years of working in the dark, years of having that feeling of being watched, it starts being easy to tell what's causing the chills. There was a certain chill for banshees, trolls, vampires, wolves... Demons had a specifically recognizable glare. This chill, however, was hard to place; it was particularly dark. Very similar to a demon but... Was it?

Whatever the hell it was, he dropped the salt and ran. "Cassie?" he called, the weight of the sawed-off unnoticeable in his haste to reach the bathroom. He did his best not to bang on the door. "Everything okay?" he questioned, trying not to cause alarm if it was nothing.

Definitely still up for this! Welcome back!

Cassie's fingers trembled with the lock on the bathroom door as she hastily tried to open it, she had never been a woman who scared easily, she had been brought up with ghost, monsters and gouls being a part of daily life, she liked to think she could handle anything, but this thing...this thing was too much. Finally the blonde tore open the door, had she been stronger, the hinges would have surely ripped from the brackets.

Immediately she darted into Bill's arms, she needed him, needed to feel close to him, needed to be unafraid. Cas sobbed into his shoulders before pulling back "it was in my head!" She cried, her hands reaching for her temple "it said it would be back...it means to kill me Bill! I can feel it!"

Bill stumbled back a bit with the force that Cassie grabbed him, not that he was complaining. Holding her felt as natural to him as breathing. He grabbed her hands, holding them to his chest. "Shh," he soothed. "Nothing is going to hurt you." He made sure to look right into her eyes as he continued, "I won't let anything hurt you."

He started pulling her towards her room. "Come on," he said. "It's been a long day; you just need to get some sleep." And although he didn't say it aloud, he added it in his head, 'And I'll be right outside.'

He made her sit on the bed. "I'll be right back." He rushed off and grabbed the salt before returning. He lined the windows and doorways expertly, locking the windows for good measure. He stood in front of her and cupped her cheek gently in his hand. "Try and sleep. I'm going to text Jeremy and see where he is. If you even get a goosebump, I want you to call me. Okay?"

Cassie could only nod, although her mind barely registered what Bill had actually said to her, she found herself agreeing to his words none-the-less. Releasing a rather shaky breath which rippled from her throat, Cassie did what she could to summon a small smile, although it lacked any happiness, it was more of an empty gesture if anything. Truly she was thankful for Bill coming, no matter what she may say against him deep down Cas knew he would always come if she called, their draw to one another was that powerful, just sometimes she'd wish he'd realise it soon.

Bill led her down the hall and towards her bedroom, the confidence in his strides told her that he remembered exactly where it was, "I'll be right back," he spoke quickly. For her part, Cassie wanted to cry out and tell him not to leave her, but she was not a child, no, she was raised into a family of hunters, she was not afraid of the dark nor the monsters in it. Although this demon was something else, she could feel it and that frightened her. During his brief absence, Cassie took the opportunity to change into her pyjamas, which consisted of an old tee and some jogging bottoms.

Once he returned, she greeted Bill with a smile, which only deepened as he cupped his cheek, "Thank you Bill." She spoke lowly almost breathlessly, before leaning in and placed a quick kiss upon his lips. It wasn't exactly passionate or lust filled, rather tender and sweet, she wasn't sure why she did it, but with a final smile she turned from him and climbed into her bed. "Will you let me know when he gets here?"

Bill nodded his head wordlessly. He was pretty sure that if he tried to say anything, even something as simple as 'yes,' he wouldn't be able to. He might say how he scared he was when he got her voicemail earlier; how the thought of anything happening to her was enough to drive him insane. He might do something foolish like beg her to forgive him for always ruining everything, to give him another chance. He would do anything for her. He would-

Yeah. A nod was definitely in his best interest.

But she wasn't looking at him. He cleared his throat. "Um... yeah... I'll let you know." He left quickly after that, kicking himself as he walked to the living room and began to pace.

He could smooth talk a complete stranger into going home with him but he couldn't keep his cool in front of Cassie. Then again, that's how it had always been; she was always different. Jeremy was always telling him to get over himself and just be with her, but he didn't understand. She didn't understand.

Cassie deserved better than the life of a bartending hunter. And he has always known that. When they first met all he could think was how beautiful she was and how strong. As soon as he saw her golden hair and sunshine smile it was all over. He was head over heels. And with those feelings came the thought that she should always be happy; he always wated to see her smile. Even if the whole world went to shit, he would consider it alright as long as she was okay. But she is always at risk; the people she loves are always in danger. She's too good for that, too good for him.

He sighed and pulled his phone out, dialing his brother.

"This is Jeremy."

"I know who it is," Bill replied with a smirk. He heard a bark over the line and his grin widened. "Hey, Cherry girl." He heard his brother exhale sharply with a curse. He picture it in his head: Jeremy was driving and as soon as Cherry heard Bill's voice she jumped at his lap, knocking the breath from him. Bill laughed.

"Don't encourage her," the younger brother growled. "How's Cassie?"

Bill sighed. "She's alive."

"That's good," Jeremy replied, trying to sound nonchalant. "I'll be there soon."

Bill smiled because he could totally hear the relief in his brother's voice. He was always happy when Jeremy didn't sound like the cold, smile-less youth of just a few years ago. He had come a long way, opening up to Bill and then to Cassie. And actually, Bill had the suspicion that Jeremy totally saw Cassie as a big sister if not a very young mother. He would deny it, but he totally enjoyed it when she babied him. "See ya in a few."

"Bye."

"Bye." He sat down heavily on the couch for a moment before pulling himself up. He needed to finish salting the doors and windows.

He was brabbing some more salt from the trunk of his car when his brother pulled up. He was attacked by Cherry first, getting a bunch of wet doggy kisses all over his face before he finally managed to push her away. Then, he pulled his brother into a (totally manly) hug. It had been a few weeks since they'd actually seen each other.

Cassie sighed heavily as she tossed and turned in her bed, every so often Beau would cast her a tired look, his brown eyes looking at her as if commander her to settle. She rolled her eyes at the dog, but that was just the thing, she couldn't settle not after the evenings event. After ten minuets of trying to get comfortable, Cassie became still, lying flatly on her back her eyes fixated upon the ceiling and she became aware that sleep was not going o be a luxury that evening.

It was a mixture of thing really, fear was one of them, despite herself, despite her upbringing, she was fretful that evening, every shadow, every creek drew her attention, it was like her senses were in overdrive...teasing her almost. Although that wasn't the only reason behind her insomnia, the throbbing in her head remained, refusing to relinquish. Cassie suffered for a little while longer before she decided pain killers were a must, kicking back her blankets, she swung her legs over the edge of the bed and make the short walk from her room to the bathroom.

As she reached the door, she hesitated momentarily, remembering it had been where the voice had spoken those menacing words. It was enough to make her hesitant, but summoning her courage Cassie opened the door and flicked on the light. She walked inside quickly, grabbing the bottle of pills that she needed, filled her glass with water and then left again, closing the door as she did. It was then she heard the voices coming from the open door, voices which were very familiar, one was Bills that much was certain, the other was Jeremy, of which she was also certain. A smile pulled at her lips as she made her way to the stairs, walking down she saw the two brothers outside chatting happily, in the lights from the house illuminating their figures in the dark.

Grabbing a jacket from the peg, she walked out onto the veranda, "Jer..." She called out lightly, her smile returning as she walked down the steps and walked over to the brothers, wrapping her arms around Jeremy as she reached them, "thank you for coming."

Jeremy felt the grin split his face, almost painful. He didn't smile often and seeing Cassie always made him smile really big. He held on to her tightly when she grabbed him in a hug. He also might have held on to her a little bit longer than was strictly necessary, but he didn't think she'd mind.

"Missed you," he mumbled softly into her hair.

Bill smiled as he watched the two most important in his life hug. If he tried he could imagine it being an everyday occurrence. They would all live close to each other. They could fix up the bar, settle down. He couldn't see a white picket fence but who would put a white picket fence around a bar anyway?

"Could you not sleep?" Bill questioned after a moment. He saw concern and understanding flash through Jeremy's eyes. Jeremy knew too much about not being able to sleep.

Cassandra grinned broadly as Jeremy returned her hug, it was always a warm feeling she felt with Jeremy, it was like that with Bill also, although her temper with the eldest Lucas brother often frayed. But now, she could hardly remember the cause of her anger with Bill in the first place, the only thing that mattered now was that he had come, they both had. "Missed you too Jeremy," she sighed pressing a quick kiss to his forehead, "you're looking skinny" she stated gently breaking the embrace to look at him, "do you not eat on the road?" She scolded lightly before pulling him into another hug.

It wasn't until Cassie heard Bill's voice did break the embrace with Jeremy, looking over Jer's shoulder at the man, she shook her head, "no, I got up to get some painkiller when I heard you two down here, I came down."

Jeremy's face warmed sheepishly at her words. Because no, he didn't eat on the road. It wasn't that he couldn't find the money or didn't have the time, or even that he just wasn't hungry because he knew the pangs of hunger well. However, growing up in foster care, he had learned to push the ache aside because it didn't matter how hungry he got, his parents wouldn't feed him unless they wanted to. He didn't eat on the road because he just didn't think about it. After going so many years ignoring hunger it became easy to forget about eating in the first place.

He had gotten a lot better since he and his brother were reunited. Bill demanded that they get together whenever they were close and have a big dinner that he insisted on buying. It was nice, and he always left feeling full. But when he's by himself it's very easy to skip a meal. On one particularly gruesome hunt he had gone three days on water bottles alone. He didn't skip meals on purpose, he just didn't think about it. He had no doubt in his mind thought that while he was with his brother and Cassie that they would make him fat.

"Painkillers?" he questioned with a sudden frown. "Are you okay?"

Offering a small comforting smile, Cassie moved the hair from her face showing Jeremy the nasty dark bruise forming just under her hairline on the right, from where the demon had knocked her unconscious, "I'm alright, just a bit of a headache really." She could see the concern on Jeremy's and truthfully it was heartwarming really, that he cared so much about her well being. Reaching out she grasped his hand, squeezing it lightly, "Don't worry about it Jer" she uttered softly, knowing he must be playing the event over in head, "I'm alright really, just a little shuck up if anything."

Looking past him, she flashed Bill a quick smile before her eyes caught the chard remains of her bar behind him and the smile on her lips faltered slightly. Swallowing the lump which had formed in her throat, Cassie turned on her heels, desperately fighting the emotions which were threatening to explode withing her. Turning back to Jeremy she offered another smile, although this one failed to reach her eyes, "Are you coming inside?"

Bill watched as Jeremy nodded his head and followed Cassie inside like an anxious little puppy. Under any other circumstances he would have thought that it was cute, but the look that crossed her face when she looked at the bar...

"You guys go ahead," he said. "I'll catch up."

Jeremy turned to him and frowned. "What are you doing?"

Bill offered a smirk. "I have to make sure you're taking care of your car. You know that."

Jeremy rolled his eyes. "I take care of my car." He threw a pout towards Cassie. "He always does this!"

Bill chuckled. "Oh hush, you big baby! Away with you!" He made shooing motions with his hands before shrugging out of his jacket. He tossed it to his brother. "Take that inside for me. I'll be right in." Jeremy nodded and continued towards the house with Cassie. Bill got the hood popped on his brother's car and looked inside for a minute. He wanted to wait until he was alone before sneaking off to look around the bar.

Cassie didn't need to work through the charred remains, not tonight. Jeremy could keep her occupied, and Bill could look around and see if he could find anything. He couldn't do much by himself, and he wouldn't, but he could do a walk through at least while everything was still pretty fresh.

Hearing Bill's hesitation, Cassie stopped and turned back towards the brother, Jeremy was close behind her but Bill hovered by the car. She couldn't help but smile at the brother's interactions, they were so similar to the ones she had with her own, but then again she hadn't seen Liam or Josh in a long time, they checked in with her from time to time, by phone calls or messages, but it had been months since she had last seen them, held them. But she supposed that was just their life, family came and went like the wind, it was quite lonely now that she thought about it, incredibly lonely.

Cassie chuckled lightly as Jeremy pouted at his brothers adamant attitude, shaking her head she rolled her eyes at the pair, "Take it from me Jer, it's a whole lot easier if you just agree." Turning back towards her house, she grabbed Jeremy's hand and dragged him towards the house, "Don't be too long, I'm going to put some food on" She called to Bill as she walked inside with his brother.

They walked towards the kitchen at the back of the house, "take a seat" she motioned to Jeremy to sit at the table, "Do you want some coffee? Or a beer?"

Jeremy sat down and removed his jacket, placing it and Bill's next to him. "Coffee sounds good," he replied. "Do you need any help?"
*****
Bill walked around the smoking remains of the once cherished bar. He could see the damage, was walking through it, and he still couldn't believe it. How many times had he had a beer in that bar? Shared stories with other hunters? Compared battle scars? And it was gone. Just like that.

But why? For what?

As he made his way back to Jeremy's car his boot made a loud crunching noise when it hit the ground. He looked down and lifted his foot; it was a picture frame, charred and deformed but the picture looked intact. He carefully pulled the photo from beneath the broken glass and smiled when he saw it. He remembered that day; it was one of his favorite memories from the bar.

He tucked the picture safely in his back pocket and inspected his brother's car. He wasn't lying when he said he had to check it. He liked to make sure his brother was at least safe while he was driving. When he was done he made his way back inside.

"No it's alright sweetie, you've had a long drive" Cassie spoke lightly as she smiled at Jeremy over her shoulder, "which I really appreciated by the way." Turning on her heel she carried three cups awkwardly to the table, setting them down quickly before burning the tips of her fingers on the porcelain mugs. Taking a seat, Cassie offered Jeremy another smile, albeit a slightly timid one, "I have to admit, I feel slightly guilty, for a little while I didn't think Bill would have come, we didn't exactly part on the best of terms..." She paused momentarily, bringing the mug to her lips and lightly blew on the scolding liquid. "I think I even threw a bottle at him..." She smirked.

Jeremy laughed. "I wouldn't be surprised if you did that. For one, you're pretty tough; anyone would be crazy to get on your bad side. Plus, Bill can be real hard-headed. I'm surprised I haven't thrown a bottle at him before." He smiled for a moment, easily able to picture the scene. Then, he turned serious and placed a gentle hand over Cassie's. "He would always come for you though. Never doubt that."

Bill chose that moment to announce himself. "You guys aren't talking about me, are you?"

Jeremy grabbed his coffee cup in two hands and rolled his eyes at his brother. "Of course you'd assume that we would talk about you."

Bill plopped down next to Jeremy and ruffled his hair with a smile. Jeremy just glared at him. "Thanks for the coffee," Bill said to Cassie with a grateful smile, taking a sip. It was pretty hot; he only barely managed not to cringe. "Hey!" he said suddenly, pulling the photo out of his pocket. "Look what I found outside. It must have gotten loose or something and blown over here in the wind." He held the picture out for Cassie to see. Hopefully she remembered it with as much fondness as he did.

(I haven't described the picture in case you have something in mind! If not I can describe it :D)

Hello, Thank you for convincing me to put Private in my RP's name. Apparently putting Private 7 times doesn't work. Thank you, you did more than you think you did.
