The room fills the noise of crumbling stone as the giant thrashes around on the end of its own personal hook. Dravon's body on the other end could feel the tax of such a great strain, even though the spell was holding up despite its impromptu use for such a reason. He could hear the magics energy weakening, causing the fluorescent blue shell over his give way as the beast gave a mighty heave.

He watched on as it grasped onto its own arm and readied for one final pull and that was when he saw his opening. As it drew back on its arm Dravon released the hilt of his sword and the spells binding fell to pieces. The creature in turn threw itself back in a remarkably comical fashion, like a bolt of irony had settled over the room. As it fell though, the whole room was set to shaking. A testament to its sheer mass as it careened down to the stone floor.

Dravon dropped to a knee and scooped up the scythe back into his hand, doing his best to focus what remained of the spells power into the malformed blade. He could already feel the tinge of pain settling in his left arm, something had broken in the last few moments of the creatures thrashing and he could already guess it was his forearm.

But a deep roar comes from before them.

"I grow tired of this charade." Its speaks and shudders the entire room. Now as it rights itself, the stern monarch of a face has crested into a hateful scowl. The crystal structure breaking and reforming from one moment to another. "Your defiance is admirable, but ultimately useless." Its body goes through several more small shifts of hardening the liquide shell again and quickly for its size, it turns into a slender for of armor.

It does nothing for a moment, just standing and looking the over as if appraising the group of its actions and were it not for a deep rumbling sound coming from above, the creature may have acted. In fact the sound called everyone's attention to ceiling above as it became louder and more constant.

Dravon was the last to look as he forced his attention away from the monster bearing down on him and his comrades. This was just in time to see a great slab of the ceiling give way and allow him to step back from its impact in time. But soon more falling chunks of rock began to fall and everyone was forced to take to their feet in dodging the cascade of stone. Dravon pulled away and joined Enuren in the task of moving Elruin towards the rear of the room as more sections of the ceiling gave way, slowly revealing what the cause was in turn.

A long metallic point breaks the stone open and within seconds a large mechanical drill is burrowing its way out of the rooms roof. Everyone is forced to cover their faces as an overwhelming flow of small rocks begin pelting them with little reserve. The last of the soldiers trying to hide their already battered bodies under their shields, Montague doing his best to care for them as he can.

Dravon looks ahead just in time to see the creature rush their way before its massive foot falls do the job for them and he grits his teeth as he pulls back on the scythe, ready for its attack. Only for intervention to happen in the form of a large stone slab clipping it across the front of its head, shattering its crown and face, sending fragments of the yellow crystals everywhere. Accompanied by an explosion of yellow particles and a spray of blackened ooze.
The monster catches itself on one on a foot and falls to one knee before starting to standing once again. A disgruntled growl escaping its frame as it begins to do so. After that a large snapping metallic sound sounds through the air as everyone looks up to see the large drill teetering out of the passage it just dug, till it too comes falling through the air.

It lands straight on the monsters shoulder, after falling over a hundred feet to meet its target. No matter the creatures strength, there was no way to take such an impact standing and its body falls to the ground as the drill burst into a explosion of fire, oil, and gears.

Cogs and bearings of all sizes come rolling out of the fire, bouncing and taking chunks of the floor out on impact. Dravon is able to swat one away roughly the size of his head before it reaches him.

Now there is nothing, but a deep long silence as nothing transpires, save for the sound of small flames burning away.

Dravon turns to the others as he speaks. "Is everyone else okay?" He calls out with a draw to his breath.

Enuren help Elruin away, Dravon joining her as the room itself sounded as if it might give way. They made it to the back of the room as parts of ceiling fell to the floor.

She felt Elruin step away and let him move to the wall. Enuren crouched low and readied herself for whatever might come next. The whole scene was surreal.

Behind her Elruin sat on the floor, back to the wall and he thanked her and Dravon. Enuren simply nodded. Thanks was not needed. She would not leave someone to be destroyed or devoured by that thing.

“This thing is relentless...” Enuren hissed as she watched it take damage yet reform itself as if the injury never happened.

The drill caused a look of extreme confusion to pass over her face as it fell taking down the creature and damaging the floor with its impact.

There was silence for a time and slowly she stood, lowering her bow. Enuren turned to look at Dravon.

“I am fine. I am not entirely sure what happened or what we do now but I am unharmed.”

Enuren looked to Elruin and crouched once more beside him. “No not dead and well done with your spell. Do you have the energy to walk or do you wish for help for a time. I do not mind. You have used a great deal of resources keeping the creature at bay”

Both Sevral and Keyra looked relatively unharmed. Dravon too looked tired but unhurt.

She looked over at the other men. Some had been hit by rocks and such but most seemed no worse than before.

"What do we do now?"

Enuren feared that something else would appear out of the darkness.

Dravon sighed a breath of relief as he heard a set of voices come back from around him, the others were still alive and he intended to keep it that way. Even though the fallen machine crashed into its landing with a tremendous force, he was unsure if the impact had truly killed the creature that stood before them.

He looked up to see several figures casting their gaze down on him and the others, someone was looking down from the hole left in the ceiling. "Ahoy.. is everyone alright down there?" A voice shot down at them and Dravon waved back, only to clench his side when a quick bolt of pain shot through. He had broken something inside of himself and it was taking him some time to pinpoint what exactly it was. Not to mention the tension of pain in his arm and shoulder were still mounting, but he forced himself to stand.

"We need a way out, get a crew to bring us up.. and make it quick. We have injured down here.." A hiss of pain left his lips as he realized that he could not properly stand with the pain in his side still growing.

Only a moment was allowed to pass before the air became very still, so still in fact someone could hear the air of the tunnels move overhead and once again a tense feeling ran up Dravon's spine. This came not long before something slammed into his back and sent him careening towards the rear wall, landing with a thud and rushing all the air from his lungs.

Catching his breath he looked back and noticed the creature, once again taking to its feet. Its body was horribly mangled from the abuse of the last few minutes and he could see the crystal eye now exposed once again, as half its body began to pull itself back together.

It was indeed in a more terrible state now as well, the outside casing of the eye was cracked and disturbed. Small vents of the same yellow glow could be seen spewing from within the orbs contents and its body worked to cover the apparent weakness back up.

He reached back and took hold of the scythe once again, hoping to catch the monster in a moment of lapse. Only to be caught off guard as the creature sprawled too its forearms and rushed the small group. Tendrils of dark mass spewed from its wrecked form and it flung them about with reckless abandon, snatching up all it could manage. Keyra, Sevral and Dravon were the ones to feel its grip, while the others were swatted away with an intense attempted of effort on the creatures part and it held the three aloft before its gaping chest.

"I will not be denied my return.. your strength and that of your companions will aid me in my revenge.." A long thin tendril sprung from the intact side of its chest as Dravon struggled with the encasing appendages around his neck and leg. Just to see the tendrils tip grow long and flat, like that of a blade and then start to glow with the red hot light of a forge.

It donned on him then, that this was its method of taking power and making pawns. It planned to take his life along with his strength and in return leave this thing that would make his body nothing more then a wretched husk. He had to act or his fate that that of his companions would be shared with the rest of Creeds in light of future events.

He could feel the heat of the impending blade and event though what would come of his actions, he was forced to act. Dravon's body tensed and then so did the creatures, his body began to pulse that same pale color of sapphire blue as his body arched a large streak of electricity to the floor. Then the others felt the quick pulse of Dravon's actions as the monster did, a vastly repeating charge of electrical current being fed directly into the creatures form.

The pulsing intensified for several short moments until Dravon saw his chance, in the form of the creature tensing up and dropping Keyra and Sevral both. He drew up both his arms and lined them up with the creatures chest as it held him aloft twitching with each passing second. It drew back with the red hot tendril just in time to meet with Dravon's attack. A sharp focused streak of white hot lightning, arching from between his arms and emitting from his chest.

What came next was nearly too fast to register, the blast of light tore through its body and showered the area behind in molten embers and shattered refuse, followed by a deafening blast. More or less sounding like a massive powder keg had been set off in the presence of the others. The eye was struck in the process and as the creature released Keyra and Several, Making Dravon the last of the group to fall from its clutches.

No one is entirely sure what happened next, but as its body fell too the floor and Dravon followed. A massive burst of energy erupted from its form as the eye finally shattered.

What came then was silence, for everyone.
No one could tell now what was going on, the quiet of being out and alone seemed to draw on forever. However all is not gone, there exist now before view a vast throne room. Covered in dark metals and golden leaf flaking all around. Maybe it was Dravon who was first to notice that this was no longer the waking world, though no one could really hear the world or see beyond what was before them. He could however sense their presence somehow and new that they were close and most likely witnessing what he was seeing as well.

In the middle of the throne room sat a large daunting figure, regal and adorned with dark black leather. It was a man of advanced years but sized to colossal proportions. He sat on the throne with a strange air of contempt about him, before his eyes shot up and looked at the group. "You may have beaten me.. but that was only one conduit into this world.. you may be able to slow my return, but defeating me is beyond you." It was then that Dravon noticed this was the creature before and that its resemblance too the crystalline features were struck true. Above his head floated the same form of crown however this one was not dull or tarnished from age.

The world began to grow dark as he could see the same black liquid from before emanate from the base of the throne and begin to crawl up the crowned lord, entrapping his body as he barely attempted to fight back against its advances."Death to all that serve the foul queen.." Were the last things spoken by him, before all light and existence faded from that place and Dravon awoke.

His body ached still, but his wounds were tended and wrapped. He sat now in a bed somewhere above ground, evident by the sign on sunlight coming from a window across the room. Too his surprise Sevral and Elruin were here as well, laying in their own beds. He sits up to feel that his clothes had been changed and now he wears white linen clothes worn by those in the care of healers.

He thinks too himself that they must be in a ward of some kind on Creeds and he sits up, sliding his feet off the bed. "Elruin.. Sevral.. wake up." He tries to right himself, only to feel the heavy pain in his side and finds his left arm in a sling.

* * * *

Meanwhile Enuren and Keyra are being cared for across the hall in this strange building, in their own room. A woman in a white nurses attire tends Keyra's wing as she sleeps and Enuren's face is being washed. These woman are covered from head to waist in a dense white smock that prevents them from being identified easily. But they still tend too their duties rather delicately.

He wasn’t sure if he was happy with the fortuitous appearance of the drill or displeased at the anticlimactic end of an obviously very powerful being. He was starting to improve but he didn’t feel like running around at least he had more clarity now. It would be all right Elruin could hear Dravon talk with a voice coming from the new opening in the roof. Elruin got to his feet with great effort and was about to make a bitter remark when Dravon was thrown away by something. The abomination rose to its feet once more but it had been severely damaged. It seemed the black goo that made up most of the creature wasn’t alive at all instead the innermost core was the brain and the crystals probably served as conduits with the core cracked the being couldn’t control half of its form. Elruin was too weak to do much when a tendril of black rushed towards him but the creature seemed to prefer targets with more vigour than him. Elruin narrowly avoided a dark tendril that tried to grab him not that it mattered if the others died he would soon follow.

As in the legends young children listened too light erupted in the darkest hour. The creature seemed to be about to rip out Dravon’s heart as it had done with all its slaves. Dravon started to charge up using strange magic Elruin struggled to understand but its effect were obvious. A single focused blast cut through the being piercing its core. Elruin was fully focused on perceiving magical energy this meant he also saw how the core was torn apart and he saw the ingenious magic that it had contained. The magic was incredible Elruin made mental notes on the way the core released its power in a single blast. He felt a hunger to understand and master this odd impossible magic but what information he had on the eye puzzled and confused him.

The blast had probably knocked them out cold Elruin felt how his mind was involuntarily drawn towards a dream. The sight before them impressed the Ash fiend but he would never admit it. It was either a perfect illusion or an incredibly accurate depiction of reality that no magician could match. The man that looked and acted like some god spoke with something Elruin believed to be conceit. Elruin tried to talk back to the sick old bastard but he was unable to instead he just looked as this creature disappeared under a blanket of black.

“"Elruin.. Sevral.. wake up." Elruin shot up from his bed breathing heavily with panic in his eyes. Elruin quickly regained his senses and manners, it wasn’t considered proper in his culture to show confusion and fear. He felt good not tired or weak but healthy and capable. Was he going to tell them about the strange dream? Why would he if they had experienced the same thing they would speak up about it. He looked at Dravon with his dark red eyes “It seems we have won.” Elruin took a deep breath and then said with a louder stronger voice “You have my respect captain Morsano.” Elruin didn’t make eye contact instead he looked away, he was busy repairing and tweaking the various spells that sustained him.

Dravon raised his hand with a small dismissive pause toward Elruin.
"No need to say such a thing.. it was my duty. I am just sorry that not everyone could make it out."

A cursory look of sadness passed over his eyes, but was gone rather quickly. He looked around and then realized that Montague was not in the room with them, nor were the two men of his unit that survived.

The thought moves to the back of his mind as he starts to believe that they are most likely not in the same room as them, same concept going for the girls as well. Seeing that he realized that they too were not in the room.

He sits there quiet for several moments as he looks down at his hands, and gives his fingers several actions to stretch. Only as he recalls the feeling from before does he look back up to Elruin "Did you happen to see anything?" He ask turgidly. The image of the man on the throne passes behind the film of his eyes as he thinks back too it.

"I could feel as if I was not alone, but if not so. It was the most surreal dream I have ever had.."

The Captain responded in a decent manner Altruism was acceptable and a strong sense of duty honourable. Elruin summoned a small ball of blue fire that produced no heat in the palm of his hand. He shaped it in various forms and different colours it was something he did every morning to train his mind and keep himself occupied. "Did you happen to see anything?" Elruin looked up from his ball of fire but he didn’t respond. "I could feel as if I was not alone, but if not so. It was the most surreal dream I have ever had.." Dravon went on Elruin answered with a calm monotone voice “It wasn’t a dream Dravon but a vision forced onto us. I could sense the abomination’s influence on our perception of reality but I was too tired to fight him. It’s probable everyone the old spirit wanted to see has seen what you have.” The magician thought for a second about the other things a malevolent super power could do with your mind but he dismissed the idea.

Enuren swiped at the think on her face. It was wet. “What is the meaning...?”

Her eyes opened and she found herself staring at a woman in white. Not just a dress but a cover that went from head to feet. Enuren sat up with a start. Where am I?

She looked around, spotting Keyra laying in a bed, still unconscious.

Enuren swung her legs to the side of the bed and stood. The white robed figure tried to urge her to sit but Enuren waved her away.

“Dravon? Sevral? Elruin?” She wandered towards the door, calling the men’s names. Where were they? Where was she and how did she get here?

Enuren turned, sending her long white hair flying. “Where are my friends? Who brought me here?”

The figure, a woman from what she could tell walked away leaving her questions unanswered.

With a frown she stepped out into the hallway.

“Dravon? Sevral? Elruin? Where are you?” She turned her head looking for some sign of the others.

Dravon slides to the side on his bed, seeing that his clothes had been removed, repaired or mostly likely replaced. Then placed back on his person at a later time, with only his sash and other items laid next to his bed in the following days. The caretaker finishing her duties with Several backed away and that is when Dravon looked at her, seeing that despite she was obviously female. That nothing other then that could be gleamed from just looking at her and the other nurses like her.

It was then that a voice could be heard from some distance away and Dravon could recall it as being one of his companions.

He got too his feet, winching slightly from the feel of the cold floor on his toes and moved away from his bed. The doorway out of the room was large enough for several people to move through at once, only a thin curtain of fabric hanging in strips was used to obscure site from one room to the other.

Following his ears he walked across the hall, still feeling a slight tinge in the base of his spine, as if the acts of the fight were not yet lost on his body. As he walked through the next curtain he noticed Enuren in somewhat of a lost state. She must have just woken up as well and the setting was putting her in a distressed state. The nurse was still standing at the side of her bed, holding a damp cloth and not moving an inch in either way. Apparently she was waiting for Enuren to lay back down, but still her motionlessness was somewhat off putting.

"Everything's fine.." Dravon said, as he came too her side, Placing a hand on her shoulder.

"We are just across the hall." This was just to reassure her in the moment, but Dravon looked around to take account of her room as well. The windows were just like theirs, glassed in such a fashion that light could come in, but not to be seen out of.

Enuren watched Dravon approach and wondered for a moment if it was a dream.

"Across the hall." She nodded although she still wasn't sure what that meant exactly.

"Fine is relative." Enuren looked over at the woman in white who was eerily still.

"Where are we and how did we get here?" She walked away from her bed, pausing briefly to look down at her bare feet. "And where are my shoes?"

She did not like this place. The air felt wrong and the people were strange. Their arrival here coupled with their unconsciousness bothered the woman greatly. What was done to her while she was out? How did they find the group? Where was the body of that creature? Enuren had so many questions that she could feel her anxiety rise with every step.

"I do not like this place Dravon. I do not know how I came to be here or why I was brought here. I do not even remember falling unconscious. Keyra is still out. What about the others? Are they awake? Were we all brought here?"

She looked over at him hoping for answers.

Dravon kept his hand on Enuren's shoulder and looked around once more, it was simple enough for him to be at ease here. Not being the first time he had been rendered unconscious in battle and brought to either a hospital or an outpost. But Enuren's nerves were getting the better of her as she was too busy wondering the implications of what had transpired from then too now.

"Sevral and Elruin are in the other room, Montague and his men however I have no knowledge of." He loosens his hold on her shoulder and pats a foot on the floor of the room several times before looking up at her.
"Its simple enough to know that we are above ground now and from the make of the room we are most likely still in the city. Though the smell tells me we are above the normal levels of the working sections of the city."

Just at that moment, the two nurses tending too Keyra began their walk back past the two and Dravon took the opportunity to apply a hunch that had been on the back of his mind since waking up. He reached out for the two woman and his hand glanced off the shoulder of one, only for them to keep walking as if nothing had happened.

He stares for a moment as he looks at his hand, the impact was stiff and rigid, even more so then one could ever expect. That brought his conclusion to realization as he looked back to Enuren. "Their not alive, the two of them were constructs of some kind. That is why they do not answer us, because they lack the ability to."

"Its strange, the last time I saw one in the field it was roughly the size of three men. I have never seen one that looked so normal in shape before."

"Constructs? Above the working city?" Enuren looked around. "But how?"

She walked a short ways from Dravon, looking around. "This place is not right. We were sent to do a job and by all rights we should still be down there. What happened to that thing? How was it so easy to get us when we struggled to get as far as we did? Why weren't whoever saved us attacked by those creatures?"

She returned to Dravon's side.

"I do not like this at all. I will not return to that bed." She looked at him. "The others are they still unconscious like Keyra? And how do you know that they are constructs and how do you know what they are? I have never seen their likes before. They are...unsettling."

Dravon looks at the bed and then back too Enuren, knowing why she was so caught off by such an event. "I understand how you feel, its just another in the long line of questions that I would rather have answered at this moment." He rubs the back of his head for a moment as he tries to rethink the last few moments that happened before he the vision.

"I remember seeing some other people in the tunnels above the chamber where we fought that creature..

Since she was not using it, he sat himself down on the edge of her bed and looked over the room. Keyra was still out and slumbering, though she was no worse for ware than he could perceive. He wings had been tended too and her other injuries were very much non existent and even though Enuren was in a distraught mood she too was in good health, much like himself.

"We must have been asleep for some time, a few days at least."

* * * *

In that moment there was a slight rumble through the building, but not like any quaking motion that any other in the group could discern. More like a living breath that traveled through the beams and tiles of the empty space, though slight and calm all at the same time. It made the air feel heavy and even the nurses twitched and puttered in place for that entire time, before the whole feeling passed and the pressure subsided.

* * * *

Dravon winced as the feeling passed and a feeling of dread followed.
It had been years since he felt that same presence and it only meant one thing was coming, but sadly he was not quick enough to realize that something in the room had changed as he sat. Staring at Enuren as she kept her eyes too the room, slightly oblivious to his station for the time being.

Had he been more aware, he would have noticed the bed lowering to support another form and only as he felt a hand glide onto his shoulder did he tense up once again. Before a voice rang into the still air around the those accounted in that room.
"Six days and nine hours to be exact Kul'Thane"

The feeling of this new hand and the sound of this voice on his ears, cause a soft look of revulsion to pass over his face. Clouded with a strange hint of sadness as he stared on off the bed. Though the look did not persist and he simply wiped it from his face before looked back over his right shoulder.

A voice like this could not be used to describe its owner.
Though feminine in sound and tone, the words spoke cut like a blade into flesh and left a pang of distaste on the back of the mouth. "Viya" Dravon responded flatly as he looked on at the woman next to him.

Her form was beautiful and full, the mark and pride of any woman lacing importance on her figure. Slim and fit, with curves nearly beyond reproach. All that threw and attracted the eye was of the source of her body and the dress that adorned her.

It was tight and fitting too her form, with straps and lace to cover and hold the fabric, but extremely concealing. It covered her whole body in fact, nearly a mirror to what the nurses were adorned with and save for its embellishments, would be the same. The only noticeable skin was that of her shoulders and pointed ears, but even that portion of flesh was nearly as pitch as the dress itself.

The hallmark of her outfit was the mask, a garment to covering nearly her whole head. Leaving her face nearly formless and without focus, save for pits where her eyes would be. Instead there were two vastly intense pin points of dull light that danced behind the thin veil of fabric.

It was obvious that those were in fact her eyes.

Dravon brushed her hand from his shoulder and looked on at her with a stern stare. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh.. really? No hello, or hi, or even asking how I've been?" She tilts her head as she directs her head towards Enuren. "I hope he isn't this rude too you.."

"I do not remember much and that troubles me..." Enuren looked away. Her hands went to her hair, smoothing the white strands. "I fear that there is a great deal going on that we were not told. As if we have walked into a trap but why, I do not know."

The woman's voice made her turn. She kept her surprise carefully hidden from her face but her eyes spoke volumes. She was once more glad she did not breathe or she might have gasped aloud as she had heard so many others do.

Enuren shook her head slowly. "No I cannot say that Dravon has ever been rude to me though we have not traveled long together."

Her eyes moved over the woman.

"I am Enuren. I do not know your name." The white haired woman tipped her head in introduction. There was wariness in her eyes but her face was a mask of calm.

I wish I had my bow. I would feel better with a weapon in my hand.

She disliked being caught off guard but she adjusted well. Enuren took a step back, putting a bit of space between her and the bed.

The woman gives Enuren a cursory glance and nods, though it is still hard to tell exactly where she could be looking. It seems more that she stares past whoever is in front of her and in turn, Enuren is getting the same treatment.

She swings her lower half around the bed and plants her feet on the floor quickly before standing. Her strange dress only did more now to conceal her form, as it draped all the way down to the floor and covered her legs entirely and as she moved away from the bed she seemed to glide along the floor instead of walk.

She slowly moved around Enuren and looked her over as if to appraise and the fabric of her mask contorted with a long smile. "Its good to see that your keeping such pretty company these days Kul'Thane... your things are being kept by the head cannoness, all well cared for I assure you." She runs a finger through Enuren's long hair as she circles behind her.

"What are you doing here?" Dravon ask flatly, his tone being an indicator of how off he feels about this woman's presence.

"Just keeping an eye on things for a certain benefactor. They really wanted to know if you and the others survived.. it was a rather fantastic explosion after all." She pauses for a moment as she moves away from the two of them, as if listening for a far away sound and then turns back towards Dravon. "It was good seeing you again after all these years and we will meet again, but for now.. questions must remain unanswered."

Viya's form begins to sink into the floor, causing her body to form a singular dark orb on the floor. Which slowly vanishes into nothingness as it too finishes sinking into the ground.

Dravon ran a hand over the back of his neck as Elruin came into the room, no doubt drawn in by Viya's presence. The aspect of talking about someone, even one such as herself when not in their presence was something that didn't sit well with him. However Dravon did owe his companions just as much, without their own blank expressions.

"Kul'Thane is just my name and a part of speaking my full name, which by all honesty is a great mouthful just to recite. Only three people in my life call me that and it just hangs in the air when they speak to me as such." He makes his way over towards Keyra's bed and looks upon his unconscious companion.

"Viya on the other hand is something much more."

He turns and leans against the bed as he looks on at Elruin, still giving his attention to Enuren as well."She served as one of my lieutenants during the crusade and after was when she became what you just saw. A daughter of the weeping goddess Astuheld.. and in fact no one knows who they serve. The order is mostly a glorified mercenary service, selling its daughters out to the highest bidder."

Enuren couldn’t help but frown as the woman moved around her, smiling. She felt as if she was on display. The name she called Dravon was a strange one and Enuren looked to her companion. She felt the woman’s fingers run through her white, long hair and Enuren shivered. This woman was not normal, not of this plane.

Dravon’s tone suggested he was not impressed by the strange woman. She stated she was keeping an eye on things and that bothered Enuren greatly. She sank away into the floor and Enuren turned to face Dravon, a million questions on her lips.

Elruin entered and spoke before she could. He did however ask questions, some of which Enuren had herself. She crossed her arms, as if shielding herself.

Dravon spoke of the woman, of her being a lieutenant to him and then becoming that strange thing that appeared. She felt ill at the thought of women being sold to the highest bidder. She didn’t care what the job, it just felt wrong.

Enuren looked to Elruin. “I agree, we need to get out of here and find out what is really going on. I do not like this at all. I feel as if we are being toyed with, the way a cat does it’s prey.”

She wanted her things and she wanted out of there.

“I am ready to leave but others do not seem as lucky.” She looked to Keyra’s form. “What do we do?”

Her arms were still crossed about her as she tried to come to some sort of conclusion on what their role really was in all this. What started as a search and possible recovery mission of missing miners had turned into something far stranger.

Hello everyone! Please forgive my absence and I hope the following post will make up for it >.<

What happened... I... Can't remember

It was darkness, a black void that filled her mind. Memories were shaken, bits and pieces flooded back into existence but Keyra couldn't quite put it all together to make sense. Tunnels... Darkness... Mangled bodies... A voice. A rumbling voice that was filled with power. It sent chills down her spine.

So much power... Never stood a chance, her mind slowly comprehended the fact that she was weak in the presence of such... a monstrosity. There was a figure. One with a crown, large and foreboding. Who was he? Why did he say that they would not be able to prevent his return? Who was he speaking to? Had it been directly to the Val? She couldn't recall. What had happened before that?

Pain... Ah, yes. There had been pain. A large creature had confronted them. Keyra vaguely remembered fighting it, yet at the same time she remembered not defeating it either. It had been strong, tenacious, and overbearing. Even for two powerful men such as Dravon and Elruin. Memory came with the names. Keyra could feel the tendrils of darkness around her body, lifting her up off the ground, trapped along with Sevral and Dravon. The pain that had flooded her had taken over her senses. It was going to kill her, and there was nothing she could do for it.

Yet, at the same time, something had happened afterwards. What was it? Dravon... A brilliant white light. His power took care of the creature... Didn't it? She took in a slow, deep breath. An eyebrow curled down in frustration at the lack of memory. The one thing that was beginning to stand out for her was the pain of the creatures hold as it had picked her up. There had been so much of it, burning into her body. When she fell, she'd just about lost consciousness immediately. It had been a struggle to stay awake, something that she obviously failed in doing.

All energy had been drained from her. She couldn't fight back any longer. A dreadful feeling overcame her body as she unwillingly allowed herself to drop into darkness. Keyra was sure she was going to die. Does this mean... That I am dead? she thought to herself solemnly. How pathetic. To be killed by such a creature and in such a pitiful way. She would much rather die on the end of a blade than with her energy drained from her body. At the same time, however, she could feel breath in her lungs. Her heart was beating, though her limbs were numb. The feeling of weakness hadn't subsided though.

A touch on her forehead took her attention. The Val flinched, every muscle growing tense on instinct. Golden eyes opened and narrowed at the woman who was peering down at her, a cloth in hand. Keyra sat upright, adrenaline flooding her body. Where was she? What happened? The woman dressed in all white startled at her sudden movement and reached out to put Keyra back down. It was a bad idea on the other's part, touching the Val while she was in a state of semi-panic. As soon as those fingers curled around her shoulder, Keyra had gripped the woman tightly and twisted her around as she got up off the bed in the same motion.

Her wings helped with her movement, making her faster and lighter. Shoving the woman up against the wall, she growled, "Where am I? Where are my companions?"

As she hissed the words, her head grew light and she swayed slightly. The grip on the woman's arm loosened and it took only a moment to be freed of Keyra's assault. The Val ignored that and decided to leave in search of those that she'd been with. Fear clutched at her chest. Had they survived? Were they all dead instead? Dropping her hand to her lower back, her fingers clutched at air. My weapon! Grinding her teeth, Keyra prepared to turn to face the door. Her head pounded incessantly, something she was not very fond of.

Slept to long... Damn it, she thought as she rubbed at her temple while turning around to head for the doorway. With both eyes closed, she didn't notice Enuren standing there, nor anyone else. Swaying on her feet again, her wings opened up and pumped slightly to keep her upright. Once she opened her eyes slowly, she stared down at the floor for a moment and then looked up to see the others standing there. Her heart skipped a beat, a rush of relief flooding her body only to be replaced with questions and more worry.

Making her way over with the assistance of her stiff wings, she eyed them with relief, "It is good to see you," she offered as she stood next to Enuren, leaning against the wall to keep upright, "I'm sure it has been asked, but where are we and why am I without my weapon?" the Val asked, a certain, deadly tone to her voice when she asked about her blade. Her golden gaze flicked around the hall that the others were standing in, "And where is Sevral?"

Dravon had gathered the others together to travel down the end of the long hall that awaited them, of all only Sevral and Keyra remained in their beds and now it was just Elruin and Enuren to accompany him. Though he would be lying to himself if he would say he still did not worry about their well being.

It was difficult for Dravon to grasp what was going to become of them now. The memory of what Elruin said about the council weaseling out of the contract did not bother him. It was the fact that he knew it was most likely not over and that they would be called in to continue such a task. Speaking from experience after his time in the crusade and being used by them in such a way before.

He began to feel a tinge of worry creep over him as two of the nurses made its way past him, splitting ways and entering the rooms of both Sevral and Keyra. They were both carrying small bowls of cool water, most likely on another set of rounds handed out to them by this canoness he planned to meet.

The group did not make it more then several feet down the hall before the clatter of a dropped bowl sounded out from the door behind them and interest pulled their heads back to look. Only in a moment did it take for a flurry of rasp breath to come storming out from the room and feathered wings all a fluster.

It's Keyra, thank the gods..
Words that Dravon could feel course through his mind as he looked on as the newly awoken Val stepped forward towards them.

Dravon put up a hand, motioning towards Keyra in a calming fashion as he stepped up and helped support her. "Everything is okay, our weapons are stored together and Sevral is still asleep.. we were out for over six days." He motions out passed himself as he urges the group to keep walking and move on towards the end of the hall.

The hallway stretches on behind them as they keep stepping, though the end is coming into view rather quickly. The buildings make draws attention away from the narrow fixtures of the walls and makes them seem to sway past, veiled nurses passing by them all the while.

"When we see this canoness, hopefully she can shed some light on our arrival here and return our belongings.

A sigh of relief spread through the Val's body as she was approached by Dravon. He moved and reached out to her. Keyra took one breath and calmed her raging nerves. She didn't like the feel of the place they were in, nor the fact she was without a weapon. Not that she couldn't fight without it, she certainly would, but it was more effective to have her large blade in hand when intimidating someone. Without it, it had been proven to her in the past that she was rather small in size and that made it seem like she was an easy target. Of course, many would vouch for the fact that despite her small size, she was quite the force to be reckoned with should anyone try anything.

Dravon's arm around her helped to steady her on her feet and she welcomed it. Both wings dropped behind her, trailing along the floor as she was far too weak to keep them upright. They twitched every so often. A dull numbness was beginning to spread through the white limbs. Keyra groaned slightly as she rested against Dravon's larger frame while she listened to him answer her questions. All the while, her eyes kept flicking about them, narrowing at those that they passed. Keyra just couldn't shake the feeling in her chest. I don't like this place... I wish to be rid of it! she thought sourly.

"Everything is okay, our weapons are stored together and Sevral is still asleep.. we were out for over six days." Dravon was saying.

Keyra glanced up to him and frowned. She wasn't about to argue about the part of 'everything being okay', but she wasn't about to agree with it either. However, as he came to the part of them all being unconscious for over six days, her heart skipped a beat and both golden eyes grew wide in shock, "Six days..." she muttered in response, astonishment in her voice. Whatever had attacked them surely was power, but to be unconscious for six days!? That surely wasn't an effect of the thing they'd fought, was it?

"When we see this canoness, hopefully she can shed some light on our arrival here and return our belongings."

Keyra's eyes grew hard as they narrowed and she looked around them again as they walked down the hall. The Val hadn't the slightest clue as to what a 'canoness' was, but she figured who ever it was, was surely someone in power at the place they found themselves at. Grinding her teeth slightly, the fingers of her hand that wasn't around Dravon's waist tightened into a fist, "Forgive me, but I insist on having my weapon. I feel... Trapped here," she muttered slightly, her wings twitching in agitation then, "Six days... I don't like the sound of that, Dravon. We may have been injured by that thing we fought, but surely not so bad to have been rendered unconscious for six days. I don't like this at all," she ground the words out, her tone slightly growling as she walked with him. Her golden gaze flicked up to look over at Dravon near the end of her speech.

"If at all possible, we should recover our weapons, retrieve Sevral and leave."

Because staying is making me feel too vulnerable...

The group was able to make the relative short walk from their rooms down the long stretch of the center hall. Its architecture playing strange games with their eyes as they moved. It was a plane open hall, with the same rooms positioned on each side, with the same fabric dividers as before. However its design pulled the view of the eye away and made the length of the hall draw farther away. The feeling on ones stomach was something as if gravity would pull you towards the hallways end.

Dravon himself could feel a sway at the base of each step, trying to come to grips with the way the hall played tricks on his eyes. Only until they got within a decent reach of the end of the hall did the feeling start to subside and pull away. The last of the hall was dominated by a large framed opening that was separated from the hall like the rest of the rooms. Parted with large thin strips of fabric that dangled in the open air and Dravon pressed through with his open hand, passing effortlessly.

Of the group Keyra was the last to enter, her winds though held close to her body. Caught on some of the fabric in the door, allowing it to drag across her feathers with a passing feel of calm.

As they entered the last room in the building it was obvious that this was some sort of and estate room, meant to be the last of the buildings structure and the focal point of its office. Its architecture was circular in make and the far back of the room was dominated by a singular large window, that let the abundant light of the sun flow in unobstructed.

Right under it was a singular desk that was large and flat, with very few objects sat upon. The strangest part of it being that there was not a chair to be found, not even in the whole of the room as it would seem.

Next to the desk were two figures, one being another of the countless nurses that walk scattered among the halls and the other being another notable feminine shape. Though she was dressed in a way similar to the other nurses in the hospice, her dress was more elaborate and adorned. Emphasized by the two golden chains laid across her waist and bust, while a jeweled golden clasp held the veil, tightly pulling it around the back of her head.

She was marking several things on a piece of parchment, or that is what Dravon could make of it and the nurse beside her would take each sheet as she finished. He took notice of the cold feel of the floor as his bare foot landed down on a large marble slab that made up the center piece of the rooms floor and as the last of the pages was passed on, the woman turned on the group.

She says nothing and stands with her hands clasped in front of her waist, looking on at them with a stiff stance.

Dravon leans forward as he looks back and speaks. "You have answers for us I believe and our belongings as well?" She meekly keens her head at him and speaks. "...Yes and ..yes..Lord Dravon" Off from the start something was wrong. Her voice was sweet and nice, but far off from the rest of the group as if she were speaking from behind a partition.

Dravon tilts his head at the fact that she referred to him in an honorary title. "You know who I am?" He returned for a moment and she nodded back. "Upon entering this world, all information is scribed and cataloged for.. further reference.."

She stepped towards him and her metallic heels clicked on the stone slab under her feet, another difference between her and the nurses.

* * * *

Elruin's familiarity with magic allows him to see the woman in a different light, she is a small font of arcane energy. Though it also remains caged and locked off from the world outside of her. As this she appears more like the other nurses the a person, but her measure of power is far greater then theirs.

Keyra followed after Dravon after getting some of her strength back. They seemed to wander down the hall quite a ways before coming to another room. The young Val had ended up last of the group, her body still far from being recovered. Weariness and the occasional swirling of the hall in her eyes kept her footsteps slow as she followed after them. Once they reached the room, her wings pulled up tightly unconsciously though they caught on the entrances' fabric. The touch sent a slight chill down her back, but otherwise she was unfazed.

Halting behind the others, Keyra's gaze narrowed at the woman who approached them. Something about her was off. It gave Keyra the chills and the hair at the base of her neck stood. As she spoke, her tone of voice was even more proof of something not being right about her. In addition to that, the fact that she knew Dravon without him saying anything about himself or even introducing himself to her, had Keyra stepping forward with the intent to defend should she have to. Her golden eyes narrowed at the woman as her jaw set tightly.

With her wings twitching every so often out of unease, Keyra glanced around. The woman's next words as Dravon also sounded surprised that she knew him, put Keyra in an even more tense mode than a moment before. Her hand snaked back to where her blade was sheathed, except it wasn't there anymore and all she grabbed was air. The Val's heart lurched to her throat for a moment before she moved and flared open her wings, despite the slight tinge of pain shooting through her shoulders from them still being a bit tender.

"What do you mean by 'all information is scribed and cataloged for further reference? What have you done?" Keyra all but snarled the words out from her tightly set jaw. It may have been a bit of fear driving her anger. After all, the last thing she remembered was being in a fight with a rather horrifying creature that had clearly overpowered them. Then to be told they were unconscious for six days... The feeling in the pit of Keyra's stomach was less than comforting.

Taking another step forward, she had placed herself just slightly ahead of Dravon, angling herself as she glowered at the woman, "Our weapons. Now. And start explaining. Everything," she hissed, "You also said 'upon entering this world'. Where are we," it wasn't really a question that came from her lips, but more like a demand. An order. One that Keyra expected the answer to.

Elruin
Keyra seemed a little paranoid or maybe she was just cautious because of her previous experience. "If at all possible, we should recover our weapons, retrieve Sevral and leave." Elruin responded with a flat bored voice “We should indeed get going but perhaps it’s better to leave Sevral. If he hasn’t woken up we should let him rest he may need it.” Elruin didn’t care about Sevral and he wasn’t going to wait for him.

The hallway towards this Canoness was odd but it didn’t bother Elruin too much. Dravon entered the Canoness’s room passing through the fabric strips Elruin followed him. There were two constructs inside the room one was the normal nurse but the second seemed to be a special construction. It confused Elruin a little bit that the engineers from Creed gave their constructs ranks but it had to have some function. There was a short awkward silence before Dravon and the nurse shared a few words notably she referred to Dravon as a lord. Dravon had gone from captain, to sir to lord Elruin wanted to sigh if this went on Dravon would be a king in two days. Well maybe it would advantageous to have powerful allies that are respected by the people but maybe the canoness was just very pollite. Keyra was less courteous demanding answers Elruin gave her a glance waiting for her to stop talking before he said “Stop acting like a frightened animal Keyra. This canoness isn't alive, it and the Nurses are constructs.” Elruin looked at the canoness “I’m not sure how intelligent these golems are however.” Elruin was quite curious about Creed’s golems but he wasn’t sure what to do about it.

Enuren followed the others silently. Her eyes roamed over the hall, the ‘people’ and their general surroundings. She found herself feeling extremely uneasy more so than when they had travelled underground. Everything here felt so unnatural. The perspective was off. The woman put a hand to her stomach as if it would somehow centre her.

Dravon’s odd sway in his walk told her that he too was not comfortable with the way the place toyed with ones perceptions. She was grateful that she was not the only one. For a moment she feared she was ill.

Enuren stepped through the opening, Keyra at her back. The woman looked drawn and on edge. Once again Enuren was glad she was not the only person affected by this place and what had gone on.

The sunlight made Enuren blink a few times. She noticed the desk, the people but the lack of other furniture was odd. She looked around with her eyes though kept her head focused forward. She felt trapped despite the large room. The presence of one of the nurses did nothing to ease her discomfort with this place.

The other woman looked at them and Enuren found herself instantly on edge as the woman took a very stiff position. Everything here is wrong. Nothing felt natural in this place and Enuren did not like it at all. The woman’s voice just added an eerie quality to the whole situation.

Enuren found herself wrapping her arms about her body as if protecting herself from some unknown and invisible entity.

She looked to Keyra who spoke, asking questions that Enuren too had been thinking. She watched as the Val stepped forward, demanding their things and an explanation. Enuren stepped in behind her offering a silent support.

Enuren looked at Elruin. “Alive or not they have our things and surely someone here is real and knows what is going on.”

The Canoness looked on at the group as they voiced their discomfort with what was happening with their situation at hand. Her stance and position, centered in the room was more of a position of necessity, then one of authority. But her chiming voice rang out once again as she addressed them.

Her head scanning the group as she speaks "The full image you all see is somewhat less, I am largely more capable then my lesser counterparts, but they all follow my direction and those of my superiors. As for a living being, this hospice has had no need for such attendance in the last decade. This is the way things are in the world of Creeds, I am sure that your companion Sevral would have mentioned this.. if so inclined."

As she speaks it is clear that there is a vast amount of imitation passing in front of them, she moves more fluidly then the other nurses and even motions with her hands given the reason for such. Though there is still a hint of stiff rigidness in her posture from time to time.

"As for your belongings, they have already been sent for after I was given word of your awakening. To be honest, I was thinking that you would stay quite a bit longer with us, even with such healing received. Injuries such as the ones you all possessed were not easily mended on our part."

Dravon could feel a curse pop from his lungs, but the stifling reason in his mind only made the impact arch an eyebrow. "Injuries.." He said flatly.

"Oh yes.. one does not witness such an event from close range and not walk away bear little harm. We spent half of your internment here removing the shrapnel from your bodies and mending the wounds. The crystal pieces were just picked up today by a group from Cabal." The only time she moves from her position is to pick up a sheet of velum from the desk and look it over."Three woman and a scribe."

Dravon bends his head for a moment as he can feel a moment of realization break from his mind and the name of Viya escape his lips with a low drawn sigh.

The Canoness does not miss a moment as she responds with an approving point of her finger. "Yes.. her and the others. We rarely get visitors here from Cabal, not many are trusting of our kind.. which I feel is a double standard."
